So what direction is OSSAS going in with the next installment, now that we've seen Nya power struggle with Nadakhan via seagulls and chess? 👀
I'm going to answer this one under the cut just in case someone who sees this hasn't read it yet (in which case: GO! that is a prerequisite for this course! get outta here! and leave me comments, dammit!), but I know that doesn't include you. You've been enrolled in the honors course.
The big thing right now is that plans are super fluid. I'm in the very loose brainstorm stage, which means I wake up at 3 am, jot something bizarre down in my ideas server, and then interpret in the morning and hope it works. Everything I'm about to say is subject to change, but with that being said, here's what #5 looks like now.
Timeline: We're jumping straight to episode 64, post-wedding. This is one of the few things that are pretty much non-negotiable. We know the buildup, the sword handoff, Nya's manipulation - I don't need to rehash that. Dan and Kevin did that for us. Instead, I've got the mother of all blank spaces to fill once Delara takes up residence in Nya's body.
Remember that line in IICT(OSC) where Nadakhan tells Nya he thinks that her being unconscious for the rest of her life would probably be preferable to having to endure his presence? Whether or not making sure she's comfortable is a genuine desire of his (spoiler: it's not. the possession is just him shoving her to the back of the storage closet so he doesn't have to deal with her shit. who'da thunk it?"), he's going to fuck it up, bad. This is partially because I've determined and highlighted that he is shit at checking his own work (source: the fact that anyone remembers Skybound at all, especially the floating temple! and I know there's that line in the ceremony, but that never happened, so, like... HUH????) and partially because, if I made it actually work as intended, #5 would just be like those Twilight chapters where Meyer represents a bunch of months with blank pages. (I've never read Twilight, but I've heard great things about that technique. It's not something I can get away with.) In other words: boring. I've always believed strongly in the importance of the Idiot Ball in any story, and this is no exception. Nadakhan once again has plenty of hands free to catch it.
Which, of course, means Nya's gotta be conscious for this, and as is par for the OSSAS course, pissed. Nadakhan's actually right that being unconscious would be an upgrade in this case (too obtuse to realize that and realize what a self-dig that is, yeesh). So: we've got a pissed off soul bouncing around while Delara takes her body for a test drive. That's a workable setting. What are we going to do with that?
WE ARE NOT going to insinuate any spicy activity between Delara and Nadakhan. This is also non-negotiable. I've seen that a handful of times in fics that bother to even acknowledge what's going on with Nya (and I can count those on, like, two fingers), and it's big-time DISGUSTANG. I don't think one can both rail against Nadakhan being a creep and then endorse those versions of the story... I'll move on before my ears start shooting out steam.
First off: you know my stance on SA in Skybound stuff. I'm sure as hell not writing it. Second, I genuinely don't think that's on Nadakhan's mind, and to act like it is cheapens his character. For my sake and his, I'm trying to work from the interpretation that he is both of the following:
This specific tattoo - that is, too enamored with the fact that holy shit he pulled it off to do anything but marvel while that goofy love theme from The LEGO Movie plays and everyone's hair does the slow-mo romantic swivel:
Tumblr media
2. Too tied up in his own self-doubt to really give a shit about that. The single most frustrating and interesting sequence in the finale to me is the part where he badgers Delara about if she forgives and/or still loves him for what he's done. He can barely believe she's here, let alone that she forgives him! I'm not a fan of the idea that he can balance that shock and disbelief with Enthusiastic Adult Activities. I'm also hoping to keep going with that brief angle I mentioned where Nadakhan's got two names for that face now, and I don't think that could reconcile very well. Nope, sorry, dude! Pathetic Wet Chihuahua time for you. Nonexistent pants stay on. Nobody needs to see your legs.
Nya's had enough shit happen to her - even by my relatively clean standards! I'm not doing that. Also, I don't know how much I want to rehash the death scene, although maybe I'll change my mind and continue the trend of building on the glimpses from Small Cuts.
Here are some options for what I might do (again, all subject to change, just some general ideas I've tossed around):
Let Nya witness not quite the beginning of the possession. Wakes up five minutes in, realizes what's happening... major introspection opportunity, really. And you know I love introspection.
Have Nya give Delara a migraine just because. Like, an actual migraine, or maybe just a nasty thunderclap headache. If Nya can't operate her body solo, nobody can. This could also be her causing other types of chaos - maybe she tightens Delara's grip on Nadakhan's hook and he flinches. Because of the chess aftermath, of course. Or some such chaos - little tweaks, like she's reaching in from the backseat and futzing with the radio and the AC and the hand brake.
Pull Nya's soul out of her body entirely and just let her wander around and witness different parts of the finale. Maybe she's on the deck when Flintlocke gets his aim back. Maybe she's the reason that loose locker with the venom in it turns up - maybe she drags it out after Clancee stashes it to help the team find it faster. Maybe the only reason Jay manages to pick her up is because Nya bum-rushes Delara, shoves her out of the driver's seat, and then stops in her tracks just long enough to let Jay yeet her across the lawn. (Remember: the scream sound effect they use in that scene is Nya's!)
But who's to say, really?
Thanks for the ask!

Okay first listen through of TTPD standard edition thoughts:
This is very sonically cohesive I think? I know some people were irritated she didn’t go in a new sound but honestly this album isn’t about the sound. It’s about the lyrics. Most of her albums find a balance of production and lyrics but I truly think that for this record more than any other the lyrics are supposed to shine. I really like it I think. We will see after a few more listens but there’s some high points and there’s some lows (tattooed golden retriever I’m looking you 🥴)
Fave 3:
Florida!!!
Down Bad
The Alchemy
Best 3:
But Daddy I Love Him
So Long, London
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
Fortnight
Functioning alcoholic?? Ma’am?? Im confused a little by the lyrics and the perspective here. Also, why are you’re so murderous Taylor?? It sounds nice though! Love Posty’s vocals in the background. This song is definitely going to be stuck in my head at random times. This would have been huge on Tumblr during 2014-2015. 7/10? I think this may be a grower for me.
The Tortured Poets Department
Okay drums! “Who uses a typewriter anyway” get his pretentious ass Taylor. Personally not loving that slip into a falsetto in “hold me” but I digress. The second verse (?) where the Puth and gold retriever line is? 🤨 “we’re crazy” a self aware queen… this is not my favorite? It’s not bad but I don’t think I will actively seek it out. 6/10
My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys
I really like this heavy dark synth in the background. I fear this is about J*e and RIP buddy. She’s the only person who could get away with “litany of reasons” in a song. Queen of Sandcastles?!?! The bridge is ruining me, girl was going through it. 8/10, I think.
Down Bad
I fear this one may let me down because I loved that stupid AI snippet that went viral on TikTok lmao. I wasn’t sure about the first verse but HOLY SHIT THIS CHORUS. “Fuck it” Ms. Swift I am scandalized (no I’m not you go queen). The gaylors are going to run wild with the “I lost my twin” bit 🙄. Love this one!! 9/10
So Long, London
Admittedly I hear a leak snippet of this one beforehand but I do love the production of this one. The intro is a bit jarring at first but it goes with the rest of the song well! Her voice sounds so fucking good here. The lyrics are ripping me apart. “All that youth for free” ouch ouch ouch ouch. This somehow sadder than Tolerate It???? Like they tried to soften the blow with the production but oh my god. 10/10
But Daddy, I Love Him
I’ve heard whisperings that there’s shade to the “SpeakUpNow” travesty that happened last May? Get them parasocial weirdos girl. Oh god yeah this is definitely in relation to Taylor Swift™️ and how people forget she’s an actual human fucking being. Honestly I love this and some of it reminds me of Fearless kind of?? But also girl is a little delulu here. Love the BRIDGE YES YES YES. big dictionary girl here. I feel like the last verse is more towards TK than matty but I could be wrong?? This is not a song I will reach for but it is really so so good. 9/10
Fresh Out the Slammer
The western twangy start? Interesting. Love her delivery and cadence here. Matty really wasn’t the only consistent guy on the roster huh? Good for you girl. Another song a little delulu but I forgive her. Another one I think the Gaylors are going to take and run with 🙄 this may be the first “filler” so far but it’s not really 7/10
Florida!!!
I’m so excited for this one personally. OH MY GOD THE CEREMONIALS INFLUENCE. FLORENCE!!!! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. Another hint at murder??? Oh she was PISSED. This song is going to make me get a speeding ticket. The BRIDGE!!!!!!!!!! The feeling of restlessness when you feel stuck I life and up and running to Florida, she’s just like me fr. 10/10 immaculate
Guilty as Sin?
Blue Nile? Oh this is about Matty. Loving the instrumental. This is such a “windows down cruising on the highway” song. The vibes are so good. Oh girl… you want him so bad. I love this one, it reminds me of something but I can’t put my finger on it. Also the religious references in this one? Wow. THE FINAL CHORUS?? Jack Antonoff they could never make me hate you. 9/10
Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me
This is haunting. The lyrics are so dark but her delivery is almost smug? Excellent. “Whos afraid of little old me? You should be??” Again, a self aware queen. Also for some reason I’m getting Control by Halsey vibes?? She’s never beating the witchcraft allegations, sorry. She’s slowly loosing her mind over the course of this song and oh my god. “Sue you”????? Oh girl get them. This is one where I probably won’t reach for it but it is such a good good song holy fuck 9/10. Self written and self produced too?
I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)
I don’t know why people thought this is about Matty, this to me is so clearly about Joe I think. The outlaw imagery paired with the production is so interesting. The lyric change at the end? Love it. Overall this isn’t my fave? 6/10
Loml
Oh this one is going to hurt me isn’t it. It’s so clear that she really does value marriage and wanted that with her past partners, which makes Lavender Haze so heartbreaking in retrospect. The chorus is going to make me sob so thank you Taylor. Wait wait wait, “Mr. Steal Your Girl” ma’am???? Be serious. Well this is about Joe lol. I’m so glad she seems happier now because this was written from a place of deep hurt. 8/10
I Can Do It With A Broken Heart
Holy fucking vibe change from the last song lol. The haters are going to hate this one but it is the classic ironic song that people will love to shit on without using any critical thinking skills. Thematically this is actually kind of genius because the lyrics are depressing and the rhyme is kind of elementary but slapping this beat behind it paints this picture of you know a pop star who has to go out and preform even though everything is falling apart. This stripped down would be devastating. 8/10
The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
The inhaled breath to start oh my god we’re crying again. She’s implying he’s poor isn’t she? Oh my god. I do think this one is about Joe again? Stabbed me with my push pins??? Oh girl. Sank in stoned oblivion?? See I don’t think she’d make that comment about an addict who’s clean now but she’s given us other songs where it alludes to the fact that Joe smokes (YOYOK, paper rings, etc). She’s so angry here and it makes me so sad for her because I feel like it’s a feeling most women understand. This hurts so so so bad. 10/10.
The Alchemy
Yes lower register!! Ohhh this is a love song 🥹 also is this about TK? The team references?? I love this one. Another that I can see with windows down, cruising on a highway. Okay wait maybe Matty? That heroin line sounds like a joke he would make lol but everything else is so TK coded so idk. This scratches my brain in such a nice. 9/10
Clara Bow
This is definitely going to be in the same category of The Lucky One and Nothing New isn’t it? STEVIE NICKS SHOUTOUT OH MY GOD!!!! Oh this is bittersweet. Oh my god that last bit about TS with edge? How hard it must be to be this self aware and yet still have to sort of accept that fate. 8/10.
Okay that’s the end of the standard edition!!!

oh yeah! y'all will probably wanna hear about brunch from yesterday because it was a combination brunch/awards ceremony/drag show/fundraiser for the ACLU!
-first off, everything was free????? everything???? free??????? I went in expecting to pay for brunch, but they offered that for free buffet style.
-and it wasn't some kind of cheap brunch offerings either. there were plenty of pastries, but also pancakes, eggs, bacon, quiche, and chicken alfredo.
-that goes for the drinks too??????? the booze flowed freely?????? mimosas all around! I even got a gin and tonic because why the fuck not?
-also free swag!! I left with a bunch of stickers, temporary tattoos, a button, a mug, and a t-shirt!
-also let's give Arkansas a little credit because I went out shopping to three different stores yesterday while wearing a shirt that said, "Trans People Belong In Arkansas," and nobody gave me any trouble for it. I didn't run into any enthusiastic agreement, but I also didn't run into anyone who felt the need to disagree to my face.
-I Was Sitting Behind Miss Major Griffin-Gracy For The Entire Brunch.
-every single drag performer took an extra moment with her during their performances :')
-all of the drag performers were phenomenal but special shoutout to the sole drag king of the day because he had such strong 90s boy band energy that it felt like Ken from the Barbie movie was dropped into a job as a male dancer.
-(He had a baseball cap that looked to be made entirely of glitter. Where did he find that? I didn't even know they made those. Also of course he wore it backwards.)
-I am such a sucker for the "wearing what looks like a normal outfit only to take it off and reveal a total showstopper of a dress" and that was our first half finale act!
-I had thought to bring a fan with me and when she came to get my money she asked me to fan her. Of course I obliged.
-also she was hella tall. I mean to the point that with how tall her shoes were, it almost looked like she was on stilts.
-(I couldn't help but think of Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors)
-you ever in a spot where you see someone do the splits but you can't fully see them hit the floor you just hear the thump? yeah, holy shit!!
-after the show I walked over to the farmers market to see what was going on/see if some of my family was there because I had run into them recently
-and before I left the city I grabbed a honey lavender latte. it was a perfect end to that little trip, and I followed it up with a dip in the pool and a little reading.

TLOK: why the resurgence of airbenders works
hey guys. it’s time for another Avatar Essay™
the other day, someone said to me that they don’t like the return of airbending in season 3 of TLOK because it ‘undermines’ the destruction of the air nomads in ATLA. I’ve been thinking a lot about why they’re wrong why I disagree with that - and about why, against all my expectations, that part of the narrative actually works so well.
so let’s dive in, bitches
to start, I do understand why the premise of season 3...does not endear itself to viewers. when I read about the season before watching it, I definitely had my doubts, because there are so many things that can go wrong with a storyline like this. the plot development is also poorly contextualised and feels completely out of the left field (because it is). the in-story explanation of it begins and ends with ‘uhh...harmonic convergence...I guess?’
so I fully get why people would think it was a weird, unplanned development which didn’t feel wholly natural. that’s a given. season 2 was meant to be the end of the series, so the progression into season 3 is undoubtedly disjointed.
however, this doesn’t mean that the entire plotline should be written off. at a surface interpretation, it does change a core part of the avatar universe, undoing what has been taken as a given since the franchise’s first episode. nevertheless, this does not equate to undermining ATLA’s narrative, for a number of reasons:
the resurgence of airbending does not change what happened to the air nomads. it occurs almost 200 years after the culture was (nearly) wiped out, and it is a groundbreaking event precisely because the world has been without airbenders for so long. had TLOK unveiled a hidden society of airbenders that escaped sozin’s ambush and continued to thrive in secret, then people would have good reason to be pissed off. not only would it be retconning; it would undermine the cultural loneliness that was such a focal point of aang’s drive and arc. however, the resurgence of airbending in TLOK is a completely new narrative that is almost wholly divorced from aang’s story. it could not have impacted his narrative in any way, because it could never have happened while he was alive.
the airbender genocide weighs heavily on the characters, shaping the narrative in multiple ways. the writers don’t simply disregard the genocide as unimportant - it is essential to the actions of tenzin, korra and zaheer. tenzin is so desperately driven to revive airbender culture because it was nearly destroyed in the past, and because he knows that it was aang’s greatest, most impossible dream. this is also true for korra, though it goes deeper than that for her - it’s about resolving a catastrophic imbalance in the world, doing her duty as the avatar where her previous incarnations were unable to. as for zaheer, the reason his threat to destroy the new air nation resonates with such horror is because it has happened before. the characters know how it is to live in a world without the air nation, and they would do anything to avoid going back to that.
the resurgence of airbending is a source of conflict, not a solution to it. had ATLA resolved aang’s trauma and loneliness with an airbending revival, it would’ve been god-awful, because it would’ve been a cheap and easy way to bring him closure. however, in TLOK, the airbender resurgence does not directly resolve anything, nor bring easy closure to any of the characters. It occurs as an inciting event, and it drives all of the major conflicts of the series. It is why Korra leaves Republic City; it is why she challenges the Earth Queen; it is why Zaheer is able to escape from prison; it is the reason he is able to manipulate Korra into handing herself over to him near the end. The revival of airbending does not make anything easy for anybody; it is something that the characters have to fight tooth and nail to protect.
the resurgence fosters a new air nation, not a xerox replacement for aang’s. a large part of the season is devoted to the fact that airbending powers ≠ air nomad. tenzin in particular has to accept that the new airbenders will never have the same relationship to the culture that he does. many people with airbending abilities do not want to be part of the air nation at all, and even those who do still struggle to assimilate into it. the season does show the new airbenders gradually becoming more comfortable in the traditions and practices, but it isn’t a straightforward process. moreover, the end of the season sees the new air nation take a different direction from aang’s, reclaiming their nomadic routes to roam the globe and protect individuals from all nations. this is not aang’s culture - it is an evolution of it, a descendent of it.
tl;dr the premise of TLOK season 3 sounds janky out of context, but when you immerse yourself in it, it is handled with an astonishing deftness. the season never forgets the history of the air nation and the weight of the genocide, yet still manages to build on airbender culture in new ways

Using Fejo (The Clecanian Series Book 05)
By: Victoria Aveline
Tumblr media
Monster Scale
Level 01: Basically Human
Fejo is basically a large, muscular human with strange markings around the sides of his body. Those markings are used to movement in the water, and he has hidden gills. He also had fancy alterations to his dick to pleasure ladies.
Once a Clecanian finds their fated mate though, they get stronger/faster, their eyes can turn black temporarily and they get blue tattoos on their wrists.
My Overall Rating For The Book
“I Bought The Book And I Want It Signed Please Holy Shit”
As of writing this review we can’t buy physical copies of the book yet. However, once we can, I’ll be first in line.
God I love Fejo, what a mad lad. Love that every pocket in his clothes has knives in them. And that he is really good at using said knives.
Overly Simplified Summary
Vanessa needs to return to earth, so she chooses a fake marriage with sexy space pirate Fejo so she can get into space and find her way back home. Fejo, however, has no idea what Vanessa’s plans are and is just really excited to have a wife.
If you want a sexy space pirate with a heart of gold, this book is for you!
If you are at all worried about this ‘Liar Revealed’ plot point with Vanessa using Fejo to get back to Earth is drawn out for the entire book, don’t worry, everything is resolved before the halfway mark. Then we get relationship building and spice pirate hijinx.
Keep reading for ‘This Book Has Everything’ and possible Trigger Warnings.
This Book Series Has Everything
[x] Touch them and I’ll kill you vibes
[x] Big buff love interest
[x] Soul mates or fated mates
Yes, but only after character development.
[x] Miscommunication happens between leads at some point
Vanessa hiding her true motives isn’t fun, and that leads to some drama. But again, it’s all resolved by the halfway mark and the two honestly have a great relationship.
[x] Dude got an interesting dick
[x] Love interest goes on a rampage when main character is either hurt or kidnapped
[x] Girls are abducted by bad aliens and then rescued by good aliens
[x] Lead or love interest gets injured and the lead or love interests drop everything to take care of them
[x] Straight
[x] Super scary/dangerous but very gentle and sweet with the one they love
[x] Love interest and/or main character is hiding something
Vanessa is hiding her true motives for choosing Fejo in the choosing ceremony.
[x] Love interest has to fight hard to win the love interests heart
Poor Fejo has an uphill battle with Vanessa.
[x] Main character and love interest talk about their problems or tragic pasts and heal together
[x] There is something wrong with the current female population hence humans
Virus killed off a lot of the women a while ago, and now there is a 75/25 new baby split between males and females. So not a lot of ladies.
[x] The side character steals the show and makes you want their own book
I can’t remember his name off the top of my head, but the dude who makes the wood carvings all over the ship and is the de facto babysitter? I love him. I would not mind reading a book or novella about him finding his true love.
In fact, if he or Rhaego don’t end up the lady that shows up at the very end of this book, I’m writing fanfiction.
[x] Society where men have drank respect women juice
The guys literally go to school to learn how to be good husbands.
[x] Happy Ending Guaranteed
[x] They purr like a FUCKING CAT
Here’s a link to where you can read/buy the book!

But I want to know your theory. :(
ok ok i guess i’ll spill…i was kinda hesitant to share just cause i’m still not all that solid in my belief in it myself but basically it seems like maybe ziam has made it a tradition to have some kind of couples trip most years (if not every year) in february ever since 2014…
(btw for future reference this ask is a continuation of this ask re ziam both being publicly in vegas earlier this year)
ugh sorry guys! hit enter by accident and posted this wayyyy before i was anywhere near finished lol…this will be updated within the hour (if it doesn’t take me too long to get my thoughts out)
narrator: she did not finish it within the hour.
ok so part of the reason i’ve been hesitant to share this is because a good portion of it is VERY speculative and just based on a lot of guesswork and assumptions, but also there’s the fact that it feels like this is something major that more people in the fandom (or at least someone, other than little ass me lol) would have noticed before now and it kind of freaks me out that maybe no one else has?? (unless ofc i just haven’t happened to see any other posts there are about it idk)…
also fyi a lot of what i propose throughout this is heavily based on info from this post just to make sure i remember to site my sources before we get into it lol
alright now onto the actual theory…
SO. all this started with me scrolling through old posts from late 2013/early 2014 and being reminded of the fuckery that was zayn’s bday that year (with the douche canoe crew and everyone pretending like liam was barely there as seemingly some sort of weird over-the-top cover-up)…the same party that seemed kinda like liam’s possible “introduction” to the malik family as more than just zayn’s friend/as his possible significant other. which was also only a month after that suspicious engagement-looking ring first showed up on zayn’s ring finger in december 2013 from bts midnight memories mv footage (and which stayed around as a necklace throughout january 2014 and early febuary 2014 right before the first appearance/debut of the mandala tat in mid feb).
bts midnight memories mv with the ring in view - dec 2013:
Tumblr media
(suspicious?) malik family outing/celebration with the ring in view - dec (or possibly late nov?) 2013:
Tumblr media
[putting the rest under the cut cause as per usual with me this got insanely long]
liam and aunt zileh at zayn’s bday party - jan 2014:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
liam and one of the little cousins at zayn’s bday party - jan 2014:
Tumblr media
then sometime in between late jan and early feb 2014 liam went on a trip to barbados with his whole family (and supposedly also sophia lol more on that later*) while zayn was SUPPOSEDLY still home and steadily “posting” pics of himself at home with various members of his family (with the ring on a necklace clearly visible in the pics lol), anddd as some have also pointed out his hair was suspiciously unchanged in these pics despite his claim of getting a haircut BEFORE most of the pics were posted lol
zayn in family pics with the ring on a necklace - late jan/early feb 2014 (sorry i’m not the one who cropped his fam out lol):
Tumblr media
but yet we’re supposed to believe zayn - who had just gotten awarded the asian ambassadorship for the VERY FIRST time - mysteriously (and willingly) MISSED the ceremony on feb. 5th with absolutely no explanation. which…we all know how big a deal that was to him from the way he talked about it and how honored he was when he went in 2015…which begs the question if he was really just home not doing much of anything at the time in 2014 why in the world would he just pass/bail on that HUGE HONOR with no explanation??? mayhaps because he was actually already an ocean away with liam and fam in barbados celebrating his engagement (and getting his own “introduction” to the payne family) and literally COULD NOT ATTEND?
anyway so then, we have him getting the mandala tat around feb 18th 2014 - or at least this is the day he debuted it on his old ig, so the date may be a few days off from when he actually got it - but this still would’ve been shortly after they got back from the barbados trip when he debuted this particular tat (aka another solidification of the engagement??)
Tumblr media
THEN we get the very first ig ziam likes from the famous and beloved aunt zileh (!!!) in this same month (still feb for reference, but she continues steadily and heavily liking stuff all the way through april when she seems to cool down again). fast forward to the 2014 brits at the end of february where we have the infamous moment with 1) ziam giddy as fucking ever, 2) zayn whispering into and practically mawling liam’s neck in public, 3) liam talking about how it was great to “fill each other in” on what they were up to during their break while zayn’s just steady standing there smiling like a loon and then 4) liam still later being like ‘you don’t wanna know’ when asked what he got up to (and zayn still grinning like a fool)
ziam being gross at brits 2014:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so to sum up so far: 1) one of them possibly proposed around nov/dec 2013 (or that’s my best guess anyway based on the evidence lol), 2) then zayn shows up with a suspiciously-engagement-looking ring in dec 2013, 3) then all the weirdness with liam’s attendance at zayn’s bday party a month later (possibly also liam’s formal intro to the malik family), 4) then liam takes his barbados trip with his fam (and supposedly sophia lol*) just a couple weeks later while “zayn” stays home and posts family pics (but is very likely secretly on the trip with liam lol which is also possibly zayn’s formal intro the payne family and a belated celebration of their engagement), 5) and then we get the beginning of aunt zileh’s likes, 6) the debut of zayn’s mandala tat, 7) and the 2014 brits wildness…all in the space of like 3 months. and most of it happening in FEBRUARY. what a wild fucking journey right?
*side note/fun fact: liam and his fam were posting stuff regularly throughout the duration of the barbados vacay but there were literally zero pics of sophia posted from this trip until like dec 2014 or sometime around then when like ONE random pic suddenly surfaced/was posted and lots of ppl had already speculated that sophia was never there in the first place so once this one pic came up that idea got upgraded to people theorizing that they maybe had some of the fam go back a second time later in the year just to stage take photos to retroactively prove/authenticate the narrative that sophia was there lol
but anyway so back to the actual matter at hand - most of that shit happened in february right? specifically the barbados trip (aka the possible engagement celebration trip)…and when i was talking about all this to a friend we realized ZIAMI WAS ALSO IN FEBRUARY. AND SO WAS THIS YEAR’S VEGAS SHIT. AND THEN. AND THEN. My friend did some research and there was apparently this little known/barely talked about article (or at least barely talked about that i’m aware of) about liam taking a TRIP TO THE MALDIVES IN FEBRUARY 2016… which coincidentally (or not lol considering these shady ass hoes) is also around the same time he got his 4 tattoo (I believe this was the first article, or at least one of the first articles, that mentioned the tat’s debut)
BUT WAIT.
THE INSANE SHIT DOES NOT END THERE FOLKS.
GUESS WHICH MONTH THE CARTIER BRACELET FIRST DEBUTED?
FUCKING FEBRUARY 2016.
specifically on liam’s wrist in preparation for the 2016 brits (photo posted to his brits stylist’s ig on feb 23rd). and he didn’t take it off till like june.
so. quick timeline:
february 2016 - maldives trip and debut of liam’s 4 tattoo (around feb 21st); debut of cartier bracelet via liam (feb 23rd); (there was also that valentine’s day roses pic liam posted feb 14th of this year which was quite interesting considering he and c hadn’t even been officially announced as a “thing” yet…ofc we know it still got retroactively attributed to her anyway but whatever, we all know who it was really for lol 😏)
february 2017 - i don’t have anything on this year, partly cause i stopped paying as close attention due to heavy ramping up of stunts, although if anyone has more concrete info on this period that hints at anything please do hit me up and i will add it in, but anyway just based on a little light research there does appear to be a good period of inactivity from both of them during this time (as in both of them had quite a bit of time in february where they were pretty inactive on sm, not being papped, and essentially mia and would have potentially had time to go on a private trip) - UPDATE: HOLY SHIT I CANNOT BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT THIS BUT THIS IS THE YEAR LIAM SHOWED UP AT THE BRITS WITH THE MOTHERFUCKING 25 ON HIS JACKET AND FUCKED SIMON ALL THE WAY UP BY SWERVING ON HIS UGLY BITCH ASS SPEECH IN FRONT OF GOD AND ENTIRE WORLD (and i think also thanked zayn in his speech if i’m not mixing that up with another year??) - all on feb 23rd to be specific.
february 2018 - ZIAMI OBVIOUSLY (which specifically started feb 22nd, or at least that’s the day i’m counting it as ‘started’ cause it’s the day liam joined zayn in miami, can’t recall the exact day zayn arrived but pretty sure it was only a couple days before that)
february 2019 - zayn starts wearing this distinctive fishhook earring in all his ig pics, which on the surface seems like a pretty small thing, but quite possibly commemorates their famous august 2014 fishing trip (directly after which he also started wearing a fish hook pendant on a necklace back in 2014); this was also another period they were pretty quiet/mia as far as i can recall, although again if anybody has more concrete info from this time that could point to something please let me know, but anyway point being they again would have had a good chunk of time to possibly go on a private trip together
february 2020 - VEGAS BABY
ofc i’m sure you all will notice one year was left out - february 2015 they were on tour with no breaks coming anytime soon so they obviously weren’t able to go on a trip that year. BUT. february 14th 2015 (aka valentine’s day lol) is also the day liam was famously papped with some small shopping bags that looked suspiciously but precisely like the type that usually come from a jewelry store, and then later that same night they had a performance (for otra tour) where we have zayn pictured wearing a new gold bracelet (as in he hadn’t been seen wearing it ever before on tour or anywhere else) - btw the op of this linked post actually marks this day as the debut of the cartier bracelet but there’s a lot of counter speculation that it’s not and given that it doesn’t quite look like the cartier bracelet looked in later pics (it’s more round and more gold than the cartier bracelet which imo looks more angular and more kind of a two-tone/silvery-gold than this vday bracelet) i’m inclined to lean more towards it just being a regular but still very sweet vday-gifted bracelet. but anyway back to more important stuff. now considering this was literally just a little over a month before zayn left - and one of my theories for zayn leaving was that it was possible he felt it was the only way to save his relationship with liam…i mean if they were still giving each other vday presents they were clearly still VERY in love at this point. like that’s not the kind of thing you’d expect from a couple that was on the rocks and on the verge of breaking up and i know a lot of ppl (myself included for a brief minute) speculated that zayn leaving the band meant he maybe left liam too/or things weren’t working out b/t them or whatever, but given this context of the vday gifts just a few weeks before him leaving that doesn’t really line up…what does line up though is him being so in love and so sick of the bs that he might be driven to just be done with it all (as far as the stress of the band and mgmt bs is concerned at least). and ofc liam did say that zayn is the most emotionally impulsive/emotionally driven out of all them so when you think about it it really shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise…
anyway, in conclusion:
it appears quite possible ziam has made it a couples tradition (ever since that first honeymoonish vacay in 2014) to go on some sort of trip/getaway together around the end of every february (or at least do something special together/for each other when they can’t) and in further conclusion I AM NOT OKAY AND WILL NEVER BE OVER THIS REALIZATION OKAY THANKS BYE 😭😭😭😭😭🌈🌈🌈

Queen of the Night
I've bandaged your bruises
You've held back my hair
Who'd've known when this started
That we'd end up here, here?
But you reach out and touch me
Say my name like a prayer
You giggle as his hands caress your sides as you stitch the gash on his forehead closed. He smiles at your giggle and proceeds to let his hands find your ass.
“Bucky baby I need to fix your stitches and THEN you can touch me however you want. But I really need to focus, love.” You hum.
The mission had been okay, both you and Bucky came out okay besides the cuts and of course his gaping gash on his forehead from a hit to the head. You escaped with a bulletwound to your shoulder but Helen had already taken initiative and began treatment. There was still some pain and blood but with another session and some more stitches you’d be fine. That bulletwound turned out to be exactly why Bucky got his gash. He had been so upset that someone had the audacity to shoot his girl that he saw red and he went in full fight mode. He still won, of course, but not unscathed.
Finally done with the stitches you dab them to wipe away blood and smile. “All done!” He didn’t waste another second before picking you up and taking you to the bed, throwing your body on top of it as you fight giggles. He quickly gets on top of you and grins, his hair surrounding your face like a halo. He blue eyes meet y/e/c and he swears he’s never seen anything more beautiful. Your smile, your laugh, your beauty...he thanked god for gracing him with an angel. After all that he is done in his long life, he didn’t think he could ever deserve to be blessed with someone to love him for who he is, but He was proven wrong when he met you.
Who knew you’d end up here? You were the other assassin amongst Natasha who also experienced part of the red room, but had received super serum to make things even more precise and strong. You’d escaped before they could perform the graduation ceremony, and you lived years on your own traveling Europe. That was, until you happened to run into good old Steve Rogers who just so happened to be on the run too. You had thought you were doomed, you had a lot of red in your ledger and didn’t have the standings that Nat did. But instead he saw you fight against an agent and pulled you to the side and asked you to join his group. He promised you protection and a new life, no more hiding when this all blew over. You took the offer no questions asked, a way out is a way out. He guided you to his safe house where a tall dark man stood at the stove, his face going in shock at the sight of a new person.
“Um okay, do you want to explain?” Sam asks.
Steve motions to you and replies, “This is Y/n L/n.”
His spatula drops onto the floor and his jaw drops onto the floors. He quickly undoes to apron he has on and shuts off the stove before standing in front of you. “Holy crap, I’ve heard of you. You caused a lot of problems for me back in the army when you went through our troops like butter in Ukraine. But I have never seen such clean work and absolute stealth before in my life. Not even Bucky or Nat.” His voice is higher with his excitement and his smile is almost taking up his entire face. You blush and shy away at the compliment. You weren’t exactly proud of everything you’ve done but you could admit you were darn good. He holds out his hand for you to shake and you take it. “Nice to meet you y/n, I’m Sam.”
You shake his hand softly. “Nice to meet you Sam,” you say and then ask, “who’s Bucky?”
Steve frowns and asks, “ever heard of the winter soldier?” At the mention of that name your hand goes to the sword holsters at your hip and prepare to draw.
“He’s here?! Where?!”
“Uh, here.” You hear behind you and you turn. At the sight of the metal arm your instincts kick in and both swords are drawn and your body is in battle mode.
“Woah, hold it!” Steve steps between the two of you cautiously, though Bucky is just standing there unmoving. “I need you to understand y/n. This is Bucky, he isn’t the winter soldier anymore.”
Your body straightens but you’re still hesistant. “How do you know? He could still be inside him.” You hiss.
Bucky then steps past Steve to address you. “The trigger words still may work but I promise the guy in front of you is just me. James Buchanan Barnes.” You grit your teeth and think to yourself. It was a tough decision but you placed your swords back in their sheaths and stood up straight.
“I am not who i was before either. So I must give you a chance.” You state, your eyes piercing his. Bucky relaxes his face into a smile for which you surprisingly return.
Bucky flashes back to the present, his body still hovering over yours. “Y/n..” he whispered your name almost like a prayer. Your hands find his face and pull him into a kiss. His hands are all over then and you both lose yourselves in eachother, passion almost making your blood boil.
All my friends say you're dangerous
But I don't fucking care
“Look y/n, all I am saying is that I completely understand that you’re a badass avenger now, but I just don’t think you’re making a great choice.” Your friend from childhood Amy said, her eyes full of concern.
You frown and ask, “what do you mean?”
“I mean...I mean I think you trusting and dating Bucky is just a really bad idea. He has done some really bad things, especially to your friends.” She admits meekly.
“You know that wasn’t him, Amy. That was the winter soldier, for which isn’t Bucky. Not anymore.” You reply.
“How do you know? What’s to say he won’t go AWOL again? Or kill you in a trance just because you’re in the same bed?”
“Because I trust him! Just like you should trust me!” You stand from the table and glare down at her. It was near betrayal how one of the few closest to you can’t seem to trust you or support your happiness for once. “I think it’s best I get back to the compound now.” You turn to leave only to hear her call after you.
“Don’t blame me if he kills you. And don’t come to me if he hurts you and you don’t have anywhere to go.” You stop in your tracks immediately.
“Do me a favor and delete my number and never contact me again. I’ll make sure to let tony know you aren’t allowed near the tower or compound, and better yet within 1,000 yards away of me.” You sneer and continue your leave.
It hurt but you didn’t need anyone that wasn’t with you completely by your side. You were used to standing on your own anyways.
Cause there's somethin' about it that brings me to life
Yeah, I know all the consequences, I don't mind
This holy redemption tears us in two
But I can't turn my back to you
Wearin' your t-shirt, I'm Queen of the night
One hand on the wheel, and one hand on my thigh
And I know it sounds crazy, but babe I am too
I just can't turn my back to you
Bucky knew about your loss of friendship with Amy, and why. He blamed himself and even thought about leaving you but you refused. You spent the entire night proving to him why and how much you belonged with him.
“She’s right you know. One psych break and you could be dead.” He whispers sadly.
“I’m here to stay with you through it all. I trust you, and I trust myself when I say I know you’ll never kill me. You won’t hurt me because I love you, and you love me.” Your lips find his in a blistering kiss full of love and fire. You needed to show him, to make him feel what you held within yourself. Pulling away you whisper, “we are both born from the dark, but we found the light together. I want to stay in the light with you.” He looked into your hope and love filled eyes and couldn’t help but lose himself completely. The warmth and utter devotion you showed him made his eyes well up and his arms pull you even closer to him. This was home for both of you, the sanctity of each other’s arms.
A knock at your door and Steve’s booming voice calling, “Time to go to the gala lovebirds!” Bucky internally groans and his arms pull away from your body.
“Looks like it’s time to get your dress on and get your fine Ass down there doll.” You giggle and kiss him before leaping up and heading to the closet to put on your navy blue gown. The car ride over was calming, and relaxed. His hand was on your thigh, the other on the wheel. You find yourself grinning at him, making him smile in return. “What’s got you so smiley?”
“I’m crazy about you, you know that?” You admit with a small giggle.
His smile turns into a very large grin and his grip on your thigh tightens as he squeezes you softly. “I’m crazy about you too, doll.” Your chest grows warm and your heart flutters as you take in his words. You wonder how you ever thought you were in love with anybody else before.
As soon as you both got back from the tiring gala, you immediately changed into a shirt of Bucky’s and some sleep shorts. You couldn’t help feel like in his shirt, in his clothes, you could take on anything. Survive anything with that piece of him with you. There was no separating you two from now on. Not ever. Not when you were unknowingly (yet) growing this mans child in your belly.
When the night goes quiet
And we're up in your room
And you're kissin' my fingers
And I kiss your tattoos
You lied beneath the silk sheets of his bed, your head on his chest. It was quiet now, after many rounds of blissful sex you both just held eachother. Your head turns and you kiss the tattoo he got around his scar on his shoulder lovingly. “I love you.” You whisper.
He takes your hand in his and kisses your fingers softly as the other plays with the ends of your long hair. “I love you too, y/n. So much.”
I could lay in bed with you and talk shit forever-ever
If this is all a dream, wake me up never, never, never
Swear to God, cross my heart, no one does it better, better
“I just can’t get over it.” You say as you lie next to him on the bed, the warm comforter covering you both.
“You? I think the one more shocked is me, doll. I’m over 100 years old and have a metal arm who used to be a hydra assassin. And I’m about to be a full blown dad. To an actual BABY.”
Your hand goes to grab his metal one in comfort. “You’re going to be an amazing dad babe. I just know it, and our baby will love you and your metal arm. Just like I do.” You then place both of his hands on your growing stomach so he could feel the life they created inside you.
His eyes began to water and a small smile graced his face. “You really think so, y/n? I’m scared.”
You nod and place a gentle kiss on his lips. “Yes baby, I think so. With all of my heart. I’m scared too but I know with you, us together we can accomplish anything. Even parenthood.”
He brings you close and nuzzles into your neck, his head ticking your skin. “Oh doll, please tell me you’ll marry me.”
Your cheeks turned deep red and you can’t help but tear up. “Oh Bucky... are you serious?” He nods and reaches Over to the dresser by the bed to pull out the velvet box. Pulling it open he reveals a rather large diamond ring. “More serious than ever doll. You’re it for me.” He says with a smile. You don’t waste time putting your lips against his in a passionate kiss. Sure your hormones were insane because of the baby but there was no refuting that you were absolutely in love with the man next to you that fathered you’re baby.
“Oh god, yes buck I’ll marry you. I’d marry you a thousand times if i could.” You gush, your body wrapped around his. “Just wait until I have this baby and i can fit into my dream dress okay?”
He nods. “Anything for the love of my life. And soon to be other love of my life.” His hand goes to your stomach again and your heart had never felt more complete as he then places the ring on your left hand. You were going to be his queen forever.

THE WEDDING POST!!!!!!!
Okay, I have now watched the episode in full like 8 times and it has been absorbed into my bloodstream and I feel stable enough to finally comment on it. For the most part I loved it and it delivered nearly everything that I wanted, even if it was delivered differently than I hoped for/imagined. There were definitely some missed opportunities I thought, but there really was nothing that I outright hated and I was pleasantly surprised for the majority of the episode. Here are some random thoughts as I was watching:
- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Lip chewing gum is hot as fuck
- I knew I was in for a special episode when Ian showed up in a towel followed shortly by Mickey in a towel. They have been hiding Mickey’s thicc sixpack all season and unveiled it here as wedding gift to the viewers.
- Cam’s line reading of “Mickey” when Liam asked who was going to wear white, sweet baby jesus. Why does it always sound so good coming out of his mouth?
- I love all the brother scenes. Carl clipping his toenails, Ian griping and then Carl wiping them on the floor was hilarious. Although considering it was his room, what does Ian care? But I love that he did. Very anal (no pun intended) big brother vibe there. Liam hightailing it out of the room the second Mickey walked in and headed toward Ian was a mood. The shit this poor boy has seen.
- I also loved everyone asking Ian about his meds, especially Carl. That really got to me for some reason, as did everyone giving the reason that it was going to be a stressful day. Like they weren’t asking to be assholes, they were just concerned and wanted him to have a good day. Little did they know how stressful. I liked that Ian didn’t get made, but you could still sense a tiny bit of annoyance.
- My second notice that this would be a different kind of episode was Mickey asking if Ian took his meds and then touching him gently under the chin and saying “good” in a very, very deep and low voice. Um....holy shit that was beyond sexy to me for some reason. Like I almost felt like I was intruding. The way Ian’s eyes were fixed seemingly on his chest/tattoo and then the way Mickey forced him to look up at him.  Wow. Ahem.
- Ian obviously thought it was sexy as fuck too because he yanked him by the hips and grunted and pulled him in for some more caresses. So yeah, this was a lot different than the “hey what’s up bro?” scenes we had been getting. I mean there wasn’t a tongue kiss, but I appreciated it. I also appreciated that Mickey and Ian had no problem not only seeing each other before the wedding but showering together and messing around too. Poor Carl, he needs to take not of Liam’s reaction.
- Along these sexy lines, there is no way that anyone should find the violent biting/hitting scenes sexy. Like no way that Ian saying “you gonna make me hit you again?” and manhandling Mickey’s wrists to the ground and saying “you done?” in a softer voice while straddling him and then throwing the gun to Carl and telling him to get the cuffs, was sexy. And it definitely wasn’t sexy that Mickey finally calmed down and looked right into Ian’s eyes and nodded. Like, no way, we shouldn’t be romanticizing that shit. Okay? Ok. Ahem. Ha Ha 😅
- I could not survive Kev’s keg boot camp, but I will take his comment about Depeche Mode-loving Gen Xers” as a personal shout out because I put their song “Somebody” at the very top of my Gallavich playlist. It is the cheesiest, sappiest song known to man and my girlfriends and I would play it on repeat and get weepy in high school. And it fits Ian and Mickey perfectly and even out cheeses that Ed Sheeran song. See Gen X can do more than irony.
- Obviously I loved Mickey’s handcuffed speech, but I wish that there had been a reference to that terrible cursed episode in season 3. Not the rape, but the fact that Terry forced Mickey to marry a woman and that it basically ruined their lives and set Ian and Mickey on a destructive course. Nearly everything that they went through started with that terrible day. It was definitely subtly reference and I definitely think that Ian was thinking of it, but I wish it had been stated more clearly.
- I love that Sandy was wiling to go to jail to get Mickey his wedding. I love that Debbie was possibly willing to marry Mickey to get him his wedding as well. I definitely loved all of the Gallaghers rallying around to help.
- The tie scene was beyond cute and this was the kind of scene we have been waiting for and both Cam and Noel delivered. I love how sincere Mickey was in this episode and how straightforward and reverent this conversation was. The kid conversation, Ian telling Mickey exactly what he wants and Mickey revising his statement in response. It was a perfect statement and this scene was so intimate. I truly didn’t think we would get this before the wedding so I’m thrilled that we did.
- Why does everyone keep referencing the combination of Mickey and Ian’s genes? Do they know where babies come from? Have they read too many Mpregs?
- I loved the shot of them first arriving and the mention of the chairs. Mickey’s “I like how the gold captures the light” made me giddy. Then the long shot of them sort of taking in their surroundings and the impact of the day. The other shot I liked was them at the alter with a bit of the “deer in the headlights” look. You got me John Wells, you sneaky bastard.
- I loved everything about Kevin this episode even if it is beyond tacky to propose at someone else’s wedding.
- I had to mute the Gay Jesus crows singing “We Shall Overcome” because ugh and cringe, but Ian having a cult at his disposal may come in handy someday. I hope he thanked them and let them glory in his presence for a little bit. I also liked that Carl and Geneva were so familiar with one another. Lol.
- All of Ian’s interactions with his siblings were perfect. I wanted but didn’t get a scene of Ian asking Lip to be best man and also a best man speech (or any speech for that matter) but the “soft motherfucker” scene was adorable and very moving. I love that the only person besides Mickey that we have every seen Ian say ILY to was Lip.  That is pretty appropriate and the kisses were sweet too. I, too, am a soft motherfucker and that swell of music to At Last got me.
- I liked how nervous Mickey was walking down the aisle, and I was happy that Sandy was there for him. But I sort of felt that him walking down the aisle on someone’s arm was a little too “bride” for me and I think I would have preferred to see him walk down the aisle by himself while grinning and walking his patented BDE Mickey walk. But his solemnity and serious was an unexpected choice and I appreciate them going with it.
- FRANK!!!!  Oh my god that’s where my tears started. I was really hoping for a Frank/Ian scene but his tears will have to do. Wow, I just wish that Ian could have seen them. The utter disdain the two have for one another usually makes me laugh, but it felt wrong to me in this episode, at least from Frank’s side, so I was glad that it seemed that Frank’s emotion got the better of him. I definitely think that the spectre of Monica had something to do with it, but it was there.
- SPEAKING OF MONICA...wahhhhh!  My favorite scene I think. It is no surprise that it comes when Ian is watching Frank and is sitting next to Debbie. I”ve already said this before but Debbie was the perfect person for Ian to talk to about this. I love how Ian still calls Monica “mom” and Debbie still called her Monica. And she was right, Monica would have loved everything about that day. Emma Kinney did a remarkable job in that scene, and she looked beautiful. The chemistry of the actors was palpable and it was just so nice to see. I also loved Ian’s slight laugh as he felt himself tearing up and then his choked voice as he said he should dance with his husband. Waahhh. Followed by Debbie’s sweet, sweet smile and then Ian finding Mickey, who had been dancing adorably and looking around for his boy. Then the way that Ian clung to him and collapsed into him, while the perfect and cheesy song played.  WAHHHHH!!!
- Also can we give it for Debbie yet again. Not only did she miss the ceremony in order to save the day, but she missed Franny walking down the aisle.  That is commitment and sacrifice and we appreciate it!
-I had hoped for personal vows, but I am at least glad that they recited them and didn’t just say “I do.” Once again, Mickey’s earnestness and seriousness surprised and delighted me,
- I loved Ian grabbing Carl on his walk down the aisle. As I mentioned, every scene of Ian and his siblings was character appropriate and I loved this one too.
- Them having 120 people at the wedding was kind of dumb and ridiculous, but I did appreciate how true to life the variety of outfits was at such an event. From ripped jeans to gold lame dresses LOL.
- That last scene of them was cute too. The hand holding, the nudity, the TATTOO again and Ian’s hand hovering near it. Mickey caressing and pinching Ian’s arm, their TWO rings, the hideous room and their tired, happy, sleepy voices. Perfection. I don’t love how Terry’s murderous rage is somewhat played for laughs, but I admit that I did kind of chuckle at their expressions when they heard the tires screech and then the last shot of them looking at one another while the jaunty music cut in. It was very, very, very much like a rom-com.
So there was a lot to absolutely love this episode, but there were a few missed opportunities as well.  I mentioned the lack of personal vows/family speeches and lack of any significant Frank/Ian interaction, but other than that the only thing that really bothered me was the lack of any Fiona or Mandy mention. That was actually a huge missed statement and it would have been easy to do. I find it more believable that Fiona would miss the wedding than Mandy, but to not mention either of them was a bad move, IMO. I liked Sandy and the role she played, but she doesn’t make me forget Mandy, show. And the lack of Fiona mention just makes me think JW was being petty toward ER.  But beyond that, THEY ARE MARRIED AND HAPPY AND SUPPORTED BY A LOT OF PEOPLE!!!  HALLELUJAH AND PRAISE GAY JESUS!!!

when my heart felt volcanic: good riddance
wassup party poeple im kaitlyn and this is my first fanfic so pls give me criticism but dont yell at me im a sensitive bitch thx!
Tumblr media
in which calum stirs up her bad desires and she is burning him up
word count: 879 (the chapters get longer dont worry)
also all the chapters have songs that go along with them so that’s what the song titles are
okay here we go mothertruckers....
fuck.
isabella had thirty minutes until she needed to be in place for her graduation ceremony,  but she had just closed her fingers in the door of her dorm room. she swallowed back the scream in the back of her throat and inspected her hand. perfect. amazing. wonderful. she had broken a nail. sure, other than that, her hand was fine, but now her college graduation pictures would forever immortalize this moment in which she shut her fucking hand in the door.
she had no time to think about pictures, though. she was supposed to be meeting taylor and maddie in the lobby.
"izzy hurry the fuck up we're gonna be late," maddie yelled at her friend when she saw her sprinting out of the stairwell.
"then let's go," izzy yelled back, running outside towards taylor's white jeep. isabella sat in the back and thought about how bittersweet it all was. she was happy to be graduating, as if her fast tracking her way through her degree in order to graduate in two years didn't make that clear enough. however, she wished her older brother, ashton, could be there to see her.
ashton was in a band and they were slowly growing a very dedicated fanbase. he was currently at rehearsal for their last show on this tour. she leaned up and asked taylor to turn the volume up, hoping to distract herself from her thoughts. of fucking course good riddance by green day was on. it seemed fitting as they made their way toward the arena.
when they arrived at the pauley pavillion, they were ushered into their seats, and soon enough, there were only two people in front of isabella and her UCLA diploma. as she walked up the steps, the annoucer called her name. "isabella violet irwin, bachelor of arts in photography."
as she was handed the piece of paper, she heard cheering from the crowd and smiled to herself as the cameras flashed. she walked back to her seat and looked around at her graduating class, taking in the fact that it was all really over.
after the ceremony ended, izzy, maddie, and taylor said their hellos to their families. after talking with maddie's parents and having taylor's nephews almost pull izzy's dress down, the trio began their search for izzy's mom. they walked around for a few minutes before a pair of strong arms lifted isabella off the ground.
"hey what the fu-," she began before noticing a familiar set of blood moon tattoos.
"Ash! what the fuck are you doing her?" izzy screamed before turning around and bear hugging her brother.
"well, i figured it would be pretty rude to not show up to my own sister's college graduation. plus, i thought i owed it to you after all those loud drum sessions when we were kids"
"yeah no shit, asshole," izzy said, shoving him and laughing. "where's mum?"
"she's waiting in the car," ashton replied, shoving her back. "got too crowded for her. come on, i have a few more surprises."
isabella followed ashton to their mom's rented car. she had flown out for izzy's graduation and would be staying for the show tonight before flying back to sydney. they approached the black car and isabella was about to ask where her surprise was when the back doors open.
"Holy shit!" izzy screamed as she ran towards the three boys who were trying, unsuccessfully, to climb out of the backseat.
michael picked izzy up and spun her around when he finally got out of the car. "hi mikey," isabella said, hugging the boy. after he let her down, she turned to luke, who kissed her check before hugging her as well. "congrats iz," luke said to her before turning to look at calum, who still had not made it out of the car. he had gotten his foot stuck in between the door and the seat. he eventually yanked his foot out, but not without losing his shoe in the process.
izzy giggled as cal made his way over to her, hoping on one leg. he wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her waist, causing her to jump. "hi cal," izzy said to the curly headed boy. "hi bella," he replied before looking at her and grinning. "'m so fucking proud of you. did you hear us screaming?"
izzy laughed, "i should've known that was your loud asses." she looked at the four boys in front of her, not really believing they were there.
"can we go now? i'm starving" luke said. everyone nodded and looked at isabella, waiting for her to agree that they could leave.
"yeah, let me go grab maddie and taylor and we'll follow you guys." isabella replied. she found her friends and they said their goodbyes to some of their former classmates as they walked to taylor's jeep. they drove over to her mom's car and she motioned for her mother through the window to start toward the restaurant. isabella was sat upfront with the aux cord and hit shuffle. and as good riddance played for the second time that day, she thought back to that morning before ashton and her three surprises showed up and wondered how life could ever get any better than this.

“O.K., you can do this Yuma. Just go in there and say you want to join. Right then, it’s not like they’re going to kick you out because you’re just start, or you’re too young, or anything like that. And it’s definitely not likely that they will call my sister and tell her everything. O.K., O.K. …Kattobingu! “
He opened the door.
“Hey there, I’m Tsukumo Yuma and I’m here to-“
“Join the gaming club, but don’t tell your sister because she doesn’t know.”
Yuma look where the answer came from and saw a man with platinum blond hair and skin that was several shades darker than his own. He was reading a guide book for a game called Monster World.
“How did you-“
“Please, you were stand in front of the building for 30 minutes. Most everyone heard some part of your inner monologue when they came in.”
“Malik, please don’t be so rude. It was not long ago that you were in his position,” a woman with the same shade of skin and the distinct air of an older sister around her came in. She bowed, which made her black hair flow over her shoulder, “Welcome, I am Isis Ishtar and this is my younger brother, Malik. If you’d like, I’ll take you to the next room and we’ll see about getting you some more information, as well as creating your character for our role-playing game.”
Yuma was escorted inside, thou he saw Malik mimicking his sister behind her back.
He was brought into a big room, with a table near a kitchen area. The table was occupied a figure hunched over an RPG… thingy that kept them hidden from view, only allowing a view of the person’s arms.  In a chair on the left side farthest from the cover, there was a man with two different shades pf brown in his hair, the top part being lighter than the bottom part. He seems occupied by his phone. On the brunet’s opposing side, he spotted two blonds, a man and a woman, with a chair between them. On the man’s left, there was a black-haired woman. She and the man were holding hands.
Deep breath and…
“Hello, I’m Tsukumo Yuma and I wish to join your Game Club. I am going into my third year of middle school and want to be more honest with who I am. Please take care of me!”
He bowed so far down, he felt like one of those wooden birds that go up and down, mimicking a drinking bird. He doesn’t hear anything from the other members but he could feel their stare as they look at him and his outfit that he bought behind his sister’s back. He’s sure that grandma knows already but…he’s scared that Akari would hate him if he told her. He’s still starting out and… this was really the first place that he went to as a man. That poster on the pole felt like a sign that he should be himself. That there were people would accept him as Yuma.
He felt like maybe this was a mistake. Maybe he’s too young. Maybe he needs to do more to be able to join. Maybe-
He smells a chocolatey scent. Someone was walking, put something down (cups maybe?), and walking again. He felt someone guide him up, where he saw bright blue eyes stare down at him.
“It’s O.K., you’re doing fine.”
The blue-eyed masterpiece escorted him to an empty chair, where he gave Yuma a hot chocolate. (Was that what he put on the table?)  he then started talking again in his velvety voice.
“We’d be glad to have you as a member. Isis is just getting some paper work for you to make it all official. Unfortunately, several members including the founder are not here at the moment but you can be introduced to the members that are here. I am Fudo Yusei, and I am like you in body.”
“wow, that pretty good up until that last part. Hey there, I’m Jaden Yuki. Oh, right, I meant Yuki Jaden. Well, what I mean is my personal name is Jaden. I was born and raised in the USA, so I’ll warn ya right now that I will mess up on social niceties. And like Yusei so weirdly said it, I’m a Trans Man. I’ll get your character sheet, ‘kay?” shouted the two-toned brunet, who had put his phone down to look at him with his soft brown eyes. He left his chair to get the sheet.
“Right”, the blond woman said, “You can call me Mai Valentine and I was assigned male at birth. As you can see, I disagreed with that decision. The idiot next to me is Jake Atlas, who is Cis and is dating the only other Trans woman in the place, Carly. The silent Dungeon Master who is rudely ignoring our guest is Bakura. (he heard a grunt by the covered man) You probably have already met Isis and Malik, so that would be a bit redundant and the others can introduce themselves when they come in.”
Then Mai started to explain the rules of the game, how to set up his character, how to roll for the stats, and other such thing while he was filling out the papers Isis gave him … until he heard Jaden yell.
”HOLY SHIT! GUYS, ATEM IS PREGNANT!!”

“So, you’re preggers, hon?”
“… I wanted to tell you AFTER I told our close family and friends. I already expressed my displeasure in my IDIOTIC, BUBBLE-HEADED, TRATOROUS SISTER telling everyone with an internet connection my current status about something I told her in private!”
“While I’m sure got that by how quickly the post got deleted. I’ll put the congratulatory gifts given to you away for a better time. Call me Curious George but when would you have told your more… distant relatives?”
“ …. When everyone else would know. By the way, how would you think the members of our gaming club would feel about being part of a ceremony that my family is putting together?”
“Pay for the outfits and you’ve got ‘em, Sweetheart.”

The Kame Game Shop was always slow at 2 in the afternoon. Jaden liked it that was. It gave him time to work on his secret job. Only three people on the planet know that Haou, the author of the hit series Gates of Eterniea, was a trans man living in Japan. He loved taking people to new world with amazing adventures.  He also liked his privacy. Honestly, Jaden probably needed his job at Kame more for his mental heath more then anything.
It keeps him from going into that place he can’t go. where bad things lurk. Wher-
*DING*
“Yug’ why didn’t ya tell me sooner”, shouted the blond that just came in. The blond was none other than Yugi’s best friend from high school, Katsuya Jonouchi, who goes by Jou.
“About…”
“da baby!”
“Well, that’s why I called you. And sent an email. And texted you.”
“… Ya know da Kaiba takes things when we’re testin’, buddy.”
“Really? Well, maybe Seto-kun should revise his policies then. I’ll talk about it with Mokuba when he comes to the next meeting.”
“… Sorry, I fucked up, Yug’”
“By the way, do you have a suit?”
“…why ’da ask about ‘dat?”
“Well, Mama, Ji-chan, and Atem’s parents want to have a wedding.”
“But ya already married ta ‘im!”
“Yeah, but they probably wanted to have a ‘proper’ ceremony. Plus, it could be a fun anniversary gift.”
“Tch, Rich Folks.”
“By the way, can you please tell Anzu, Hiroto, and the others about the Ceremony?”
Jou leaves, no doubt to tell Yugi’s other friends about the party that’s going to happen.
“Jaden?”
“Yeah, boss?”
“Let us tell the others about the ceremony, O.K.?”
“’Kay.”
Now then, how do the Band of the Pejuleum get through the Cave of Despair….

At the second ever time that he came into the Domino City Gaming Club, he saw two people with spikey black hair that had a rim of red at the edges. Thou they had the same hair, they had vastly different styles, one in head to toe black clothes with a tattoo on his right arm, the other in a grey business suit. He was too far away to hear the words so he jogged over to the two.
“Hi there, I’m Tsukumo Yuma.  I’m a new member of the Domino City Gaming Club. I hope we can be good friends,” Yuma exclaimed as he bowed to his seniors of the club.
The two turned and… whoa, they both looked so weird. The tattooed one had blond bangs that frames his purple eyes, who looked at him kindly. The other, who somehow had darker skin than Yuma’s own, looked so excited at him(?) with his red (?!?) eyes. The red-eye guy, who had blond streaks in his hair to go with his blond bangs, went into a speech that he said with such enthusiasm that it felt like he was trying to sell him on an epic game that he just played that he wanted to share with everyone.
“Welcome once again to the Domino City Gaming Club! I am the founder and fanatical backer of the club, Atem La Lune. The handsome man next to me in my Husband, Yugi. I’m sure you’ve met the secretary of the DCGC, a little nickname I gave our illustrious club, Isis Ishtar, as well as one of our greeters. The brunet giant setting up the duel disks is Seto Kaiba, and the child with the wild black mane is Mokuba. Mokuba is genderfluid, and they indicate what gender they are by wearing a bow in their hair if they wish to be referred to as female, and leaving their hair down if they want to be man at that time. If I’ve read the notes from last time correctly, you were already introduced to Mai, Jaden, Yusei, Jack, Carly, Malik, and Bakura. I apologize for anything that the latter two would have done t-“
“Oy, don’t try that shit with me, you short-ass brat. You were telling your blond Bunny that you got knocked up last time. The least you could due is not act like some fucking saint.”
Yuma saw the white-haired Bakura (he saw him fully when he knocked out the cardboard-thingy after Jaden say that Atem was going to be a papa) charge at Atem. Atem looked ready to fight the white-head when Yugi stopped it in its tracks before proclaimed the weirdest announcement.
“O.k. just want everyone here to know that Atem and I and having a Wedding ceremony, courtesy of the matriarch of the La Lune clan, and all DCGC members are invited and are allowed to bring a guest. This is a formal affair so Atem will pay for any clothes that you would need. I expect to see most of you there.”
“You’re already married,” Shouted Jake.
“Mother insisted on it as an anniversary gift. But if you don’t want to go…”
“Hell yeah I’m going!”
“Woo!”
Yuma stared on as each person there offered their congratulations, their condolences, and their RSVP.
“Things tend to hectic here,” Yuma turned to see another white-haired guy looking on, “But I think that it just gives this group a unique character, don’t you think so?” The snowy haired guy looked at him in fondness. “Bakura Ryou, my brother’s looking for the right personal name, so he’s been going by the familial name for now.”
Yuma smiled, “Yeah, I think it’s good.”
He just knows that this will be a good year.

You said you can make it stupid and ramble so Imma challenge you to the yakuza!hoshi (jk write it however you wanna
AU’s are beautiful and I love them. Send me more shit.
Tumblr media
Yakuza AU’s? Damn that’s fucking, wild jim. Holy shit. I love it hello yello I am all for this hell fuckin yeah. You know what tho, I’m gunna do it my way b/c I am filthy garbage and I hate myself BING BONG DAB EMOJIThey’re under a read more because I ramble like a little bitch and no one should be forced to read this utter mess.
🔪 So Hoshi’s mafia has dragon and star motifs b/c it’s literally his name (we don’t talk about the horses in this good Pastanafarian household thank you very much that and horse motifs are v hard to make look cool and edgy b/c oma looks like a dweeb more news at 5). So his beautiful tattoos are done by his Horishi (tattoo artist v/ old fashioned and needle master), who I wanna believe deep down in my rotten disgusting soul is Tsumewgi b/c needle aesthetics :tm: tattoo artist Tsumuwugu when, but is actually just one of his close friends. But back on topic, his back has a lot of scars and tattoos around those scars, because he’s a bit of a show-off and he went through a lot so he’s gunna be a rad bitch:tm: and show his scars as awesomely as possible, all in star and dragon motifs. They’re mostly black and white, but he does have hints of blues in there as well, as black white and blue are the gang’s main colors. Cats are a slightly less important, but still prominent symbol as well, as those are the symbols worn by the Kyodai (older brothers), while the Kobun (apprentices / younger brothers) tend to have a single star. Hoshi’s back in particular, has a dragon, a large star w/ many many smaller stars around it, cats and lots of just other more abstract designs, because he told the Horishi to get creative and get creative they did. Maybe I’ll draw it later or smth hell if I know.
🔪 Now how he became the head of the yakuza, is interesting. Because here, it all started by being just, a punk ass kid honestly. Junior high was a wild time for him, and he wasn’t born into a family-brand Yakuza, he was offered to join in by... let’s just say a close friend whomst family was the Yakuza he joined into. So, his life was normal and plain, and he kinda just.. wanted to be a bad boy:tm: that’s really it. So he ditched his family, and went to join the Yakuza. The Yakuza, became his family really. He preformed the ceremonies, and did what he was told. Yet, he was just greedy. Greedy because he wanted more, yes yes! Much much more! So, he started to climb from the bottom to reach where he wanted to be, which was the top. So it just became a matter of getting there. And he worked hard, and hard, but no matter what, well... nothing kept him from gaining any higher status than a Kyodai, since the rest of the upper ranks were more, family-born requirements he just didn’t fill. So, whilst the others were out and about doing their jobs, Hoshi went to the building once again, and slaughtered all of the higher ups. Every single one, minus his friend. Now his friend isn’t dumb, and while his whole family got murdered, the Yakuza itself was his family, much like the situation he provided for Hoshi himself back before. So Hoshi became the Oyabun (or boss) of the yakuza after his friend swore loyalty to him and they drank to it. V sappy stuff. From there, Hoshi built it up with people he could trust, no longer listening to the higher ups that once led the family before him. He runs a crime organization, a very tiny independent one but a tiny one nonetheless which he’s trying to build the reputation up oh ye.
🔪 Hoshi still had a girlfriend here! It was, well, a very bad relationship considering how quick it fell (and considering he was the one that killed her but shhh) but, for a while, she was the ane-san (big sister) of the organization. Anything that Hoshi wasn’t around to do, she took care of instead. His gf here was japanese, rather tall, and had long af hair like damn i’ll draw her one day but hoo boy Hoshi likes tall women more news @ ten. She kicked ass tho, and she got taken out because of infighting that she would cause l o l. So he got tired of her shit and she can’t just leAVE BECAUSE COMMON SENSE WOULD PERTAIN SHE KNOWS ALL THEIR SECRETS AND SHIT SO bye hunie sorry I don’t make the rules.
🔪 This one is lame, but he’s a BIT of an alcoholic. Just a little. He perhaps likes Sake, a little too much for someone his age, and he believes that bonds are really important when made over sake. Sakazuki (sake sharing) is practiced often already in Yakuza even now, despite looking formal and old at most weddings, but Hoshi practices that shit like holy fuck. Hell he just drinks. Has prolly developed a problem that no one will address him about because he’s the boss obviously. That being said fancy trips to bathhouses and loud af parties are also present, although he does get shit done. He’s a party-hard loser bitch but he still holds that strict af authority that has that fear into others.
🔪 Hoshi’s yakuza specializes in organ sales. Lots of, fine ol gore and guts, he likes having a bunch of gross murders and stuff b/c he’s edgy and a loser that doesn’t know how else to express himself. That being said, he makes sure not to damage fine product? Like, gotta keep them bills paid somehow. And that’s through the black market w/ women’s hands and shit. Women are usually found from brothels, some old, mostly younger ones just starting, ouch. Men are targeted for their other organs and shit, and he does a lot of stuff hands on himself despite not being supposed to (but fuck you he does what he wants) so he’s just this edgy ass kid that has no social skills playing w/ guts and shit b/c his life choices and decision making skills suck ass. Hoshi in a shell nut.
🔪 Now I’m a gross weirdo so bonus I like to add how others interact w/ Hoshi? any possible interactions? Lol yeah u fuck I’m implying that DICE are pussies and Hoshi is totes ready to pick fights w/ Oma’s petty ass for drawing oveR HIS SHIT YOU LITTLE CLOWN ASS H O. But legit shit thinking abt it like, ooo how would he interact w/ Angielino? Perhaps she and him converse of ways to rule over a group of ppl, albeit Angine’s is under religion and his is under regime and shit, or maybe Kaitotototo as the Assassin (eyes @ u Drac bby never forget) and maybe there’s some rivalry shit goin on there. Ah yeah man so many possibilities. I just? Nut at the possibilities.

this mess is ours.
❧ a florin forest elopement
Tumblr media
date: 21 july 2017 (canon) -- 24 Aug 2017 (pretend date :p) @ approx. 3:00 pm location: an anonymous spot in the Old Growth Forest
the newlyweds: daniela octavia savin + samuel irving floros wedding pronouns: partner / groom + husband / spouse (or partner) the officiate: iann cardero the witnesses: fane savin + freya floros also featuring: holmes the dog -- official bouquet-holder
-- - As a massive ‘fuck you’ gesture to the elders of the Floros Coven for attempting to condemn their relationship by threatening to cast out Sam if he didn’t leave Dani romantically, Dani had proposed to Sam that the two of them run off and elope. Sam thrillfully agreed and the two of them threw together an extremely spontaneous wedding event. The ceremony is small and intimate, just as they wish it to be. A secret. At least until they drop a pic of their rings into the wild world of SpringySnaps and the Savin afterparty confirms it. Instead of giving one another physical rings, Dani and Sam will be having their rings tattooed on their fingers following the ceremony.
-- - For the sake of Soapberry’s sanity, and for all of Sam and Dani’s threads and the town events occurring after the canon wedding date, we’d like you to pretend this hadn’t happened yet. For the reception, we’d like you to assume this is all occurring on the pretend date listed above. Any new threads and such from hereon out will include the pair as spouses. Life got in the way of us posting this sooner, and we apologize (in exchange we made it really fucking cute).
note: wedding inspo and images from this forest elopement and the wedding of hayley and jackson from the originals (predominately the style of the vows because they are lovely and precious).

SAM: Sam picked up Freya at the shop by blasting the horn of the flower van at her until she came out. When he told her what was going on, she let out a high pitched squeal that never seemed like it would end, followed by a stream of “Oh my god, oh my god,” over and over again. There was still a lot to do, but first they had to swing by the cabin because Sam had decided to bring Dani there at the end of the night and finally spring his surprise. So Freya helped him set the place up enough to spend a few nights in, with a mattress on the floor in the bedroom made with sheets and a bunch of pillows. He hung up some tapestries and fairy lights to make it look cozy, and put some essentials in the fridge, and once he was satisfied, he and Freya went back to the house. He showered and pulled together an outfit from his closet--black skinny jeans of course, though Freya yelled at him, a checkered shirt and a vest. He put his hair back up, and greeted Freya in her pantsuit and heels at the door. She was his best man, after all. Their last stop was back to Meadowsweet, where he put together a bouquet and flower crown for Dani, a matching boutonniere for himself, and a short garland of ivy and white flowers for Freya to do the handfasting. She’d found the spell in one of the spellbooks in their attic, and practiced the incantation by murmuring it as he drove them to the forest. They were the first to arrive, and he looked over at Freya letting out a breath, the initial adrenaline of rushing around starting to calm down as reality dawned on him. “I’m getting married today,” he said, and she grinned over at him. “Hell yeah you are.” Another car pulled up, and Sam got out of the van, feeling a flutter of butterflies.
FANE: Fane had received an immensely vague text from Dani that morning, a text that literally read: be at the entrance to the old growth forest at 3pm and dress smart. Leaving him wondering what the hell they were doing. They used to go on hiking trips here when Dani was younger, but it had been a long long time since anything like that happened and the dress code hardly fitted hiking. If there was one thing Fane hated it was vagueness, and this... Well, he had no idea what was going on. Working the morning and taking the afternoon he returned home to get dressed opting for a checked blue suit with brown shoes and belt to match anxiety gnawing at him from the inside out as he tried his best to piece together any sort of thing that might be going on today that he'd been forewarned of. Heard mentioned... anything, but nothing sprung to mind. Eventually he resigned himself to the mindset that whatever was going to happen, was going to happen. Dani had more secrets than he really knew or seemed to be let in on these days and he'd just have to settle for not knowing. Pulling up in his normal ride, he climbed out recognising Sam's van immediately and the sight of Sam and Freya looking particularly tidy (the latter also looking particularly over the top excited) which had his brows furrowing together whilst confusion etched his features. "Hey... er," he waved his phone a little "got a weirdly super vague text and I'll admit to being super confused... Is everything alright? You're not about to tell me you've got a body in the back of that van and I was your go-to person for helping to bury it right?" A bit of humour to mask his uncertainty about whatever was going on here.
SAM: Sam couldn't help his grin when he saw Fane, going over to his very soon to be father-in-law. Freya hung back by the van, doing double-checks of the things they had to bring with them and changing into her sneakers to make the hike. "Hey," he said back, a little amused at the confused look on Fane's face. "No, there's no body." He figured he might as well tell him, while they waited for Dani and Iann to arrive. He still felt those excited-nervous butterflies in his stomach at just saying the words. "Dani's on their way... We're getting married. Like, right now."
FANE: Fane managed a faint smile as Sam mentioned the fact that there was no body. "Darn. Oh well, next time." Yet, that still left him very in the dark about what the hell was going on and some enlightenment would have proven to be useful. Yet, when it was given a short time later, all that was earned initially was a look of shock, further confusion, a return to shock as he opened his mouth and promptly shut it again with a mild sounding "oh..." escaping him. There was a temporary burn of ire about having something suddenly sprung on him again though he kept it from his expression, much as he'd done earlier, he opted to take the backseat. "Wow... That's-- fast?" he really wasn't sure what to say considering he still hadn't wrapped his head around it. "When did this come about?" Seeing Sam's giddiness over it though eased some of his misgivings and a small smile graced his features, "Nervous much?"
SAM: Sam let out a nervous breath, watching all the emotions that flashed across Fane's face. "Well, we've been together six months, for us that's plenty of time," he said, knowing that their situation was different. It wasn't like he'd just met Dani six months ago-- they'd spent the majority of their lives together as best friends. The time since they'd finally pushed past just being friends seemed to fly by blissfully. "Um, this morning? It was Dani's idea...There's some stuff, coven stuff? Going on with me and..." he shrugged, not wanting to get into it all just then. "Long story short, we're taking a stand. Together." He shrugged, like it was nothing, then chuckled a little when Fane asked him if he was nervous. "Yeah, a little," he said with a laugh that was more nerves than anything else.
FANE: Fane blinked a couple of times as the gravity of what was going on started to sink in, but Sam made a decent point and eventually Fane conceded. Sam was already practically family he supposed. Though just as he was coming to terms with that, the next answer made him regret asking his question. "Sheesh, what is it with you young ones and..." He shook his head, letting that sentence fade off, but the mention of coven stuff earned a concerned look from him his thoughts, shifting from what was going on to checking on Sam's well-being. "You'll tell me about it right? Later? If there's anything I can do to help you, I'll do my best, alright?" He wanted to know if there was anything he could do, but just as he went to speak again, he heard the approach of another car, stepping up to lightly pat Sam's shoulder as Dani and Iann arrived.
DANI: “Holy shit, I’m doing this. I’m actually doing this. Shit.” Dani sucked in a breath as they sped down the forested roadway, eyes peeled for the dirt path that would take them to the designated rendezvous point. Their fingers were gripping the steering wheel so tightly that their knuckles were white, and their heart was in a rush, still catching up with the reality that this was, in fact, happening. The elopement was their idea. After being away from Sam for a month and coming back to hear that his coven had cast him out while they were absent, while he was at his weakest, something powerful had stirred in them. A need to make a statement about their relationship that showed those opposed to them just how fucking inseparable they were going to be. But they hadn’t thrown out the idea as merely an act of vengeance. Dani loved Sam. They were in love with him. And even after all they’d been through, they’d chosen one another. Best friends, but so much more. It had been a morning of insanity running about to make plans, choosing who would be there, finding a dress-- and here they were now, still crazed, yet beginning to settle into the monumental nature of their commitment. Holmes sat in the seat beside them in the Jeep, looking up with a grumpy sort of, ’Calm down, human. You’re going to be fine,’ expression. Iann was in the back, thrown into the mix by Dani on the agreement by Sam that, as their mutual friend, he was their perfect officiate. “Am I crazy?” They asked him with a glance into the rearview mirror. “Like, I’ve done a lot of insane shit but I’m starting to think this tops the bill.” They took a few deep breaths as the opening of the forest came into view and they pulled in to park, finding both Sam and Fane already present. When they cut the gas, they unbuckled their seatbelt and turned around in their seat to stare back at Iann. “You’ve got my back, right roomie?”
IANN: In truth, Iann ended up being more miffed that a dog ended up getting shotgun, and he had to clamber into the back of a Jeep -- which were notoriously cramped in the back! He was practically hugging his legs, and his ass bumped and jarred along every pothole along the old road! -- than he was about hearing why Dani suddenly required him here, now, and dressed as he was. Still, Dani never asked anything of Iann -- ever. The tiny human was self-sufficient to a tee; and Iann could imagine why, considering he'd met Fane Savin and the vampire's proclivity for 'Can I help you? Let me help you. There I've helped you, no, no, no please, no need to thank me'. And Dani had opened up their home to Iann in return for Iann's... basically nothing. Getting his ass whooped by something other than Tuah (heh heh) was a small price to pay for a day that was, supposedly, one of the happiest days of one's life. Okay -- happy notwithstanding, because Iann was fully confident that Sam and Dani would only keep multiplying each other's happiness as the years went by, this was going to be an important day in their lives. Very, very important. And for some strange and unfathomable reason, Dani Savin and Sam Floros chose Iann Cardero to be present for this very very important day. Must be that online ordained minister certification he got drunk one night as a colossal joke. It was still legit, regardless of Iann's reasons -- and wasn't this a great fucking reason? "Yes! You're both fucking crazy," Iann confirmed, voice jiggling until Dani pulled to a stop, and Iann eagerly clambered out. He came around to Dani's side of the Jeep, arm on the brace as he looked at them. "But isn't that the point?" he asked with a grin, holding his hand out to them. "That you're both crazy and this is going to happen and it's the start of something new and real and together, hm? Now come on, you two will have one helluva story to tell everyone afterwards, for years to come. It'll be great. I'll take photos. Uh -- " Iann paused, when he saw Fane Savin there as well. But of course it made sense. "Right. Come on, kiddo."
SAM: Sam nodded at Fane's request to tell him later, and he fully intended to tell him everything. He'd been shouldering the weight of being ejected from the coven alone for too long, and now that Dani knew, it didn't seem as scary to tell other people, too. "I will, just not tonight. Tonight is supposed to be happy." He figured Fane would get the insinuation that the news wasn't happy in the slightest, but he didn't want to deal with any of that right now. He steadied a little at Fane's hand on his shoulder, turning to see the Jeep roll up. "Here we go..."
DANI: Dani wasn’t sure how they felt about Iann’s confirmation until he clambered out of the Jeep and over to their side after Holmes, who immediately sat down to await his human. He was old, and although Iann was a very dear companion to Sam and Dani both, elderly dogs raised from their puppyhood still won first priority in regards to seating. The sight of Iann’s grin drew a smile out of them whether they liked it or not. “Yeah… yeah, you’re right. Must be all that old man wisdom,” grinning then, Dani put one hand in his, grabbed a fistful of their dress with the other, and hopped to the ground. The familiar feel of their combat boots on the soil was a confidence boost they sorely needed. “You look great by the way,” they added with a whisper. “And thank you, for doing this.” His hand was squeezed ever so briefly before Dani breathed, looked down at Holmes, and walked out to join the rest of the roughly assembled wedding party.
FANE: Fane was settled a little by Sam's assurance, at least that he'd be told in due time was enough, and with the arrival of the car, his eyes left Sam and studied the Jeep for a long few moments, eyeing Dani in the driver seat and... Iann? In the backseat. Vaguely he recalled Faye mentioning him officiating her impromptu wedding and wondered for a second how he even came to manage to do that... But, then he remembered at almost exactly the same moment that this was Iann Cardero. What couldn't that man find a way to do or get done if not by his own hand? As they approached, he shook off some of the negativity weighing him down and smiled gently as Dani approached. "No jeans with holes ripped in them and flannel 'eh kid? I'm disappointed." But his words were belied by a teasing smile as he shook his head, unable to fathom this was actually happening. "You look incredible--" he said quietly in their ear as he wrapped them in a tight embrace before drawing back and casting a look at Sam's flabbergasted expression, unable to help needling him with a little bit of humour in kind, “though, I'm pretty sure there's something somewhere about not seeing the bride before the ceremony, although it also seems to be you're marrying a guppy considering how he's gawking right now."
DANI: Dani felt their throat starting to tighten when Sam and their father came into view. Evidently, they had a cooler composure than Sam, able to keep their wits about them as Fane grabbed their attention -- which was a blessing, really, because it helped them to keep that composure in place rather than sinking into gawking like their groom. They knew he wasn't going to be thrilled about the sudden nature of all this, but at the end of the day, he was their father, and they couldn't have him miss such an important day in their life. "No, no jeans. But, there was the consideration of a suit." Dani tipped their head with an almost bashful smile, clinging to him tightly in the short moment of their embrace. "Thank you," they whispered back at him, turning to press the lightest kiss to his cheek before they separated and their eyes shifted to Sam. "True," they chuckled at the sight of him, "but lucky for us both, I'm not a bride." Dani reached out to take Sam's hand without having to look for it, letting their attention to the others fade out for a bit. "Hey," they grinned, "I see you pulled out the Dress Chucks," and then smirked. "I had no idea we were getting so formal."
SAM: Sam swallowed around a dry throat as Dani and Iann made their way around the Jeep and over to them. He let Fane greet them first, mostly because he was standing there stunned, not even able to move yet as he took in the sight of Dani in their wedding dress. Once Dani came over to him, their fingers entangling on instinct, he found himself with a nervous, and quite dopey, smile on his face. "Hi..." he said, breathlessly. Then another nervous laugh bubbled out of him at Dani's words, since they always found a way to put him at ease. "Shut up," he teased back, pulling their hand to bring them closer to him. "You look… wow."
FANE: Fane gave Dani a quick squeeze before letting them go, looking then between the pair and not wanting to intrude. Instead, Fane stepped a little away, giving them a few moments to themselves before they went to wherever the pair had decided their final destination was going to be. He passed the time by rattling off a few quick texts here and there to organise some things back at home considering he assumed that it was where things were going to be hosted. Better to at least get something put together than be left dawdling as he had done with everything going on now. He trusted Ryan to oversee the organisation of things, though also had a feeling the progeny wouldn’t be too pleased at being left out of this particular set of events. They’d have to be placated another time. With that done, Fane settled, tucking his phone away into his jacket, noting that Iann in the meantime seemed to be busying himself with the dog.
IANN: Iann distracted himself with... well. With the dog. Turns out the rickety old thing was good for something, and that was for making Iann look busy and occupied as the family had their family time. And the two soon-to-be newlyweds had their newlywed time. Iann hovered over the old beast like his guardian, pondering a variety of things: why this impromptu decision between the pair? Why was it held out here? Why didn't they want more guests? What was he going to say, because it needed to be special. Why his friends always looped him into marrying them last-minute without any time to prep. And then suddenly -- Iann looked up at the couple. Did this mean they were going to start living together now? What would become of Dani's loft? Iann couldn't see Dani just giving it up... could they? No. Maybe? Then again Sam mentioned that old cabin he was building, which in two to six weeks was going to be a completed living space, an actual home. Iann pulled at his chin for a while, then scratched at the old dog's head.
DANI: Dani giggled at Sam's breathlessness and dumbstruck standing in general. They'd see him nervous before gigs many a time, but right now he was downright flabbergasted and Dani wouldn't have had it any other way. "Never," they snapped back in an adoring way, holding tightly to his hand as he pulled the two of them closer together. They got a little shy then, glancing down at their dress and shifting on their feet to feel the steadiness of their boots once more. "Yeah," they smiled, looking him over from the bottom up. "You too." The witch's hand was brought to their lips for a kiss, and afterwards, they looked over to where Freya was standing, then back again. "Are we-- all set then? Should we head up?"
SAM: Sam kept looking at Dani almost as if he had never seen them before, until he managed to compose himself at least a little. Still, he colored at the little kiss to his knuckles, his face going hot and there wasn't a thing he could do to stop it. He let out a breath. "We're really doing this," he said, as a smile took over his face. It all fell into place so easily. He nodded, looking over at Freya, who lowered her phone from taking pictures, her eyes already red. "Let's go," he said, turning back to Dani. "I can't wait to marry you."
IANN: "Oh so -- so it's not here?" Iann asked that Floros girl (he forgot her name again, but at least she was the one taking photos because Iann had completely forgotten that he said he would; and besides, she was probably far more talented at it). "It's -- down there, okay." Iann grinned at her. "I'll just stick with you. Let the lovebirds drift on ahead, hm?" He gave her a friendly elbowing as he whistled for Holmes to follow with them, hand shoved in his pockets as he motioned to Sam and Dani. "Lead the way, you pretty pair."
DANI: "We are really doing this," Dani reiterated, breathing similarly. It all felt so surreal, and yet it wasn't. It was very, very, real. And when the Floros Coven found out, oh boy would they be pissed. The thought made Dani grin widely. They squeezed Sam's hand and didn't even try to stop the pink that dusted their cheeks at his line. The little high it gave them almost stirred them to a few tears. But they held it together, saving their eyeliner and their composure in the process. "Me neither," they whispered up to him. At Iann's interjection they nearly jumped. For a second, they'd forgotten he was even there. Thank gods he'd helped them remember or the wedding wouldn't be happening at all. "You got it," they called back at Iann and started off up the trail with Sam's fingers still tangled in theirs.
SAM: Sam was completely caught up in the whirlwind of emotions and exhilaration as Dani squeezed his hand and started to lead him off to a good spot. They didn't have a specific place in mind for the ceremony, but they both agreed that they wanted it actually in the woods, with nature all around them and their most loved ones there to witness. It would be perfect. Then Freya called out, "Oh!" and ran back towards the van, the keys in her hand beeping to unlock it. She came back out with a bag and hurried to catch up to Iann. "Almost missed out on my Best Man duties," she teased, grinning up at Iann and then snapping another picture of Dani and Sam as they walked ahead of her.
IANN: "What is that? Rings?" Iann asked the Floros sister (Friga? Fiona? Filippa?) as he strolled, slowing just a little for her to catch up with her bag. He didn't try to talk to Sam and Dani, leaving them to their own little world -- after all, this was literally a crash course. Most people took weeks, months, even years to plan their marriage. It seemed like Dani and Sam were going at it cliff-jumping style. He would've asked the Floros sister, but decided not to. Whatever the reason, it had to be serious. At least, Iann figured, it wasn't on the Savin side of things since Savin Sr. was here. Which meant... Iann squinted at Sam -- his hair, his checkered shirt, his ass that fit so well in those tight pants, naturally. And Dani's hand bumping against it, no surprise why. "Anytime you two want to stop," Iann called out again, looking behind when the cars were out of sight and they were definitely in the forest. But Sam was here, and he knew these forests like the back of his hand, no doubt. Iann had no need to worry about getting lost.
DANI: Although Dani had started off their trek into the forest, as soon as the trees thickened, they gave up the hike's leadership to Sam. As an earth witch, he had the best sense of the forest. When the spot was right, he'd know it. They'd know it. Iann and Freya trailed behind them with Holmes padding along at Iann's side, panting, and Fane took up the rear -- no doubt being more careful of his steps considering his footwear and the shallow mud that Sam, and even Dani with their dress, weren't bothered to traverse (though they still avoided it as best as possible, for understandable reasons). Iann's call prompted them to catch up to Sam's side. "What do you think?" They asked as they stopped to stand on a fallen tree trunk to let the others catch up a bit. "It looks like there might be a nice spot up there," they pointed to the rising path ahead of them where it widened and curved off to the left.
SAM: Sam felt at ease in the forest, and he led their small troop through confidently -- though still avoiding the worst of the mud since he was wearing his Dress Chucks. A few times he reached back for Dani's hand, helping them traverse over fallen logs and such with one hand clutching their dress. In the back, Freya looked over to Iann. "No, they don't have rings. Yet. I don't think," she explained. "It's a bouquet and stuff. Sam made them before we came out here." It had been touching, watching him throw together beautiful wedding flowers on a whim. But Freya had been crying on and off all day and she was determined to hold out until the ceremony now. Up ahead, Sam stopped at Dani's voice and turned back, struck by how they looked in the forest, standing on a trunk in a wedding dress like it was nothing. He smiled fondly and went over to them, sneaking in a kiss. "Yeah, right over there where it clears."
IANN: "Here, lemme hold that," Iann said, taking the bag as the trail got a bit more challenging, and he went forward and helped Freya if the little witch needed any assistance. "Bouquet and stuff...right yeah. This is all really spontaneous, hm?" he grinned at Freya, then glanced back at Savin Sr., who seemed lost in his own thoughts. "Typical Dani and Sam."
FANE: Fane’s hands had snuck their ways into his pocket, feeling a little more relaxed with them out of the way, the quiet click of the lid to his metal lighter the only sign to his unsettled state as he trailed after the others. For once he was not particularly paying much mind to his surroundings or making any real fuss about, well, anything -- just keeping his thoughts to himself. There wasn’t much point to it anyways, considering how heart-eyed the couple wandering together were and not that Sam’s mention of this being some stand against something or someone made it any clearer just what had brought this rather impulsive act on. His phone buzzed in his pocket, and Fane pulled it out to check it, the contents of the message making him smile fondly at the screen before he tucked it away again. Whilst he knew well enough the feelings here were genuine, the others occupying themselves with conversation left him feeling a little secluded despite the whole occurrence and a part of him silently wished for Faye to be present to make him feel better.
DANI: Dani felt more relaxed the further they walked. With just Sam and themself at the head, they were reminded of why they'd suggested this idea in the first place, aside from the gesture to Sam's coven. There was a peace Dani felt around Sam that only he could conjure. He made them feel balanced and secure, and gave them the confidence to believe they could overcome whatever troubles they faced. Here, in his element, they held so many fond memories. How could they resist adding one more to that collection? They smiled softly towards him as he approached to sneak a kiss, which they returned gladly in kind. "Perfect," they pressed their forehead to his brow just briefly and stepped down from their perch, glancing backwards at the rest of the troop. "I hope you're all ready 'cause it looks like we've found our spot."
SAM: Freya handed the bag over to Iann, knowing everything had been enchanted to keep its shape despite the trek in the woods, so they didn't have to be super careful with it. "Super spontaneous," she said with a grin, taking Iann's hand as he helped her along. "But I'm also not surprised at all." She let out an audible "Awww," when she caught Sam kiss Dani, watching her brother blush again with glee. Sam smiled at Dani, his cheeks flushed pink, and nodded. "By that tree," he said, pointing.
IANN: "This is it?" Iann asked, to him it looked kind of like everywhere else in the forest -- but hey, it wasn't his wedding. "Just tell me where you want me and ahhh... also what sort of.... how you'd like the ceremony to go?" Because Iann was betting on them being spontaneous, but yet having this mutual vision of exactly how they wanted this wedding to go.
DANI: Dani shrugged over at Iann. "It feels right and the earth witch agrees, so-- why not?" They walked up towards the small clearing and stopped next to the tree Sam had indicated. "I think we're gonna have you stand right in front of this tree here," they glanced over at Sam for a quick clarification. Despite the shotgun nature of their wedding, the two briefly engaged partners had taken the time to sit down and lay out of the ceremony itself. That was the part that mattered, anyway. They'd could have worn anything or brought anyone or done it anywhere, but they managed to throw together a little something that they both agreed on, and here they were now, on the cusp of what was likely the most significant day in both their lives thus far. "We thought we'd start with whatever little introduction you want to give," Dani began to explain to Iann, "then we'd have the whole declaration of intent thing -- ya know, the whole 'do you really want to marry this loser?' part, then Sam and I have some vows, Freya's gonna do a unification spell, you and Dad," they looked over to their father, giving a smile, "can say some final words if you want, and you can close us off with the official declaration bit. Ooh--" With a reminder popping into their head, Dani reached down and pulled a small scrap of paper from their boot, handing it over to their roommate. "There's our full names, in case you need them, and... Iann, really, you don't have to get formal or sappy or anything. Just do you, yeah? We wouldn't have picked you if we were expecting anything else."
FANE: Fane came to stop a little time after the group, hovering around the edge of the spot that Sam had chosen for them to stop in. The sun shone brilliantly through the branches and Fane stood in a patch of rays, letting them warm him a little where he stood whilst Dani and Iann worked out the logistics. He looked at Freya who had come to hover nearby, watching Dani and Sam thoughtfully before his eyes slid aside to her. "Waterworks all set?" he joked, figuring there were going to be plenty of tears throughout the event and day.
SAM: Sam hovered near Dani, letting them take the lead in getting everyone set up for their short ceremony. They had decided together how they wanted it to go before they split up for the day to get ready, but now that they were at the spot and the time had actually come, Sam felt nervous all over again. It didn't have anything to do with not being ready or sure about what they were doing-- he wanted to marry Dani, and not just as a statement towards his coven, though that was going to be satisfying when they found out. They wanted to marry their best friend, their partner in life and love, and be theirs forever. Meanwhile, Freya glanced over at Fane, watching them set up. She flashed an already watery grin up at him. "Oh I've been crying all day," she admitted, getting her phone ready for more pictures. "Sam," she called out, then gestured with her head over to the bag now in Iann's hands. "Oh, right," he said, going over and getting the paper bag, bringing it over to Dani. "I made you some things," he told them, not feeling nervous or shy anymore, just excited for them to see the love and care he'd put into the flowers despite the short notice. First he pulled out the flower crown, watching Dani's face as he placed it gently atop their curls.
IANN: Iann nodded at Dani's instructions, figuring the human with all the plans had, well, a plan. Spontaneity was fun and all, but they weren't stupid teenagers doing something for fun and rebellion's sake. As impromptu as this obviously was, there was a lot of care and thought put into every single tiny little detail. From the guests, to the pacing, to the schedule, to the location, and apparently even to the flower... things. Flower-things, that Sam was decorating Dani with. Iann turned away from them, because one thing they didn't plan (on purpose?!?! these two little bastards) was what Iann was going to say. "Just do me," he muttered to himself, but there was a smirk on his lips as he shook his head. "Like it's so fucking easy, these kids, I swear." They'll be the death of him; and really, Iann wouldn't really have it any other way. Well -- he was always good at winging it (and Dani KNEW that, ever since their first meeting on the SS Cormorant) so he'll wing it, they'll like it. Hell, they probably wouldn't remember a damn thing he said anyway. He could recite the Magna Carta and all they'd remember was the look in each other's eyes and the details of each other's smiles, and the words spoken between each other, for each other and by each other. Good stuff. Iann turned, satisfied as he waited all Minister-ly and benevolent like he should for this happy occasion, etc etc.
DANI: Dani wasn't looking for specific lines from Iann because they trusted -- and rather liked -- his talent for 'winging it.' He always brought a thrill and energy to their adventures even at the worst of times and it had kept Dani on their feet more than once. He would do great, and even if he fumbled, he could count on the fact that Dani and Sam would more than likely be distracted with one another throughout the ceremony. When Freya called over to Sam, Dani's eyes snapped to her, then followed her nod to the bag that Sam took from Iann's hands. Of course, Sam would have whipped together some flowery creations for their wedding. A bouquet and a vine of sorts for the unification spell were expected, but the flower crown was a pleasant surprise. "Was this Freya's idea or yours?" Dani failed to hide the color in their cheeks as they dipped their head and laughed. When they glimpsed up at him, they fought back with a smirk. "I'm guessing you've got a bouquet in there too, flower boy?"
SAM: Sam smiled softly, noticing the light blush on Dani's cheeks as he placed the flower crown on their head. "Mine," he said, a bit proud of that fact. He just thought the flower crown was something they'd like, and he was pleased to see how it completed their ensemble. He chuckled a little at their teasing question, shrugging as nonchalantly as he could manage. "Of course. But first..." He reached into the bag again, rustling gently inside until he came up with his boutonniere, in the same purple and green that Dani's bouquet was, the pin already in it and ready to go. "Want to do the honors?" he asked, passing it to them.
DANI: "I love it," Dani whispered up to him hearing it had been his idea rather than Freya's. Sam had made a flower crown or two for them before this, but usually on request for special events. To have one he'd made entirely of his own accord for them had a sweeter ring to it. When he rummaged through the bag again and this time pulled out a boutonniere, they gave a quiet chuckle. "Aw, cute. Our wedding's starting to feel a bit like prom," they joked with a grin, taking the boutonniere and holding it up to his vest to find the right spot. "I'll try not to stab you." After shooting the witch a wink, Dani pinned flowery accent into place and stepped back to admire their work. "There, you're all done up now."
SAM: Sam chuckled a little, holding still as Dani fastened the boutonniere to his vest. "Try not to draw blood," he teased, looking down to see it once it was done. "One more thing." He pulled the bouquet out of the paper bag, glad he had placed a simple spell on it to keep it from getting crushed on the trek here. He'd spent the most time and care on the bouquet, making sure everything else matched what Dani would be holding, but giving it a little more oomph of its own. It was tied simply with twine, leaving the stems showing, purple and white flowers cradled in soft greens. He handed it over to them, watching for their reaction to it. When he set the bag down, Freya scurried forward to whisk it aside and get her garland for later.
DANI: Dani had half a mind to prick Sam with that pin just for laughs, but they decided against it at the last second. They didn't want any blood stains ruining his outfit. Instead, they shook their head at him and pinned the boutonniere in place as they were meant to do. Then, he returned to the bag once more to hand over the one piece they all knew was coming -- the bouquet. It had to be beautiful, obviously, because Sam, local florist extraordinaire, had arranged it, but despite not being anything massive or showy, the simple, wild-looking bunch of flowers mixed in the couple's favorite colors made their heart swell. It was perfect. It was them. There was a tiny hiccup of breath as they took hold of the flowers in one hand -- delicately, like they might break -- and found Sam's hand again with the other. "This is the best one you've made yet," they said to him with a gentle, loving smile, sliding their fingers between his and just holding there firmly. They didn't even notice as Freya scurried over. And then, with a faintly shaky breath, they looked around at everyone who they'd gathered together. "That's it then, isn't it? We're ready."
SAM: Sam couldn't help smiling proudly as Dani took the bouquet, watching their face as they looked at it. He'd been inspired by them in choosing wildflowers, the purple and soft green being obvious choices to him, knowing Dani's tastes. "I'm glad you like it," he said, beaming at their praise of it. His smile held as Dani twined their fingers together and they moved into place. He let out a breath when they announced that they were ready, turning towards Iann feeling both nervous and excited.
IANN: Iann looked at nothing all this time, or really he was intently staring at a caterpillar that was slogging its way up an arbutus tree in the distance. Fat little caterpillar, the kind you want to root for when it puts so much effort into the simple act of moving. And then slowly, using some sort of thick, silvery web, dropping itself from its destination down… down… lower towards Fane Savin's anxiously groomed hair. Oh no. Iann took a step forward and opened his mouth -- but the action prompted Iann to look down from his perch on the thick tree root and see two shining, excited faces looking up at him, beautifully decorated in all sorts of delightful flowery concoctions. "Just look at you two," Iann said with a grin, forgetting about the caterpillar completely. "Like two peas in a pod. I'm sure that's what everyone said about you both, without realizing that the 'wise old adult' teasing would end up with Sam and Dani shoving that sentiment right back in their faces, hm? The most happiest form of rebellion against anyone and everyone who gets in your way. And let's be honest -- together, there's likely very little that's going to get in the way of your new life together. Dani, you're resourceful, bright, perceptive, complex, and generous. And Sam, well… Dani really loves you, so obviously you're doing something right," Iann grinned, because of course he had to tease the Floros.
Iann paused for a moment, before looking at Fane and -- Freya! That was her name. "Folks, is it any surprise that we were pulled out of our daily routines and surprise-wrangled into a beautifully planned wedding for these two? Everything executed and designed how they wanted to plan it, because if a wedding day is about anything, it should be all about the people who're getting married, right? Now, you two say your vows to each other -- take as long as you need -- and then we'll get all formal about it."
FANE: Fane gave Freya a smile, breaking off their short conversation that they'd been having in the meantime whilst the others sorted out flower crowns and the introductory aspects of things. Now that things finally seemed to get moving, Fane ducked over until he stood nearby Dani his hands still tucked out of the way in his pockets. As Iann addressed himself and Freya, he merely offered a faint smile. "I mean, I think I out of anyone have the ability to say it's about damn time considering how long they have been a double act inside and out of the house." But he grew quiet once more as the pair began to recite their vows agreeing with Iann in a way that this was, if anything, perfect for the couple in front of him and if it made them happy, then what could really be said against it? They'd overcome whatever trials awaited them together, and Sam was in a roundabout way officially becoming his son (in law) but whatever, technicalities. Who really cared about those anyways?
DANI: Dani set their focus on Iann as his introduction began, smiling fondly at first, but unable to keep themself from laughing a little as he picked on Sam, which was something, in part, they were counting on. They might not have been able to stand through a formal wedding. This was light, humorous, easy. It took away the stress, but a few nerves still lingered. How couldn't they? When Fane raised his voice, Dani turned their head to look at him. 'It's about damn time,' he said, and Dani’s throat caught, resulting in a noise that wasn’t quite a chuckle, but more a happy-sad sort of noise that came with a pinch of color in their cheeks. They weren't asking for their father's acceptance -- that was the whole point of a private elopement anyway -- but it meant the world to them to have it nonetheless. Thank you, they mouthed to him quickly, not listing any specifics because there were far too many to tell.
When they turned back to Sam, they built their composure back up in an instant. Fane's words had brought up a memory that, frankly, they were surprised hadn't crossed their mind until now. What they chose to say wasn't a part of the 'official' vows they'd sat down and written, but it sure as hell was a meaningful inclusion. "Remember that day we first met when I shot you in the forehead with a nerf dart from the top of the stairs as you were coming in," briefly, they glanced back to Fane, "and Dad, you were all cross with the whole 'Dani! That's not how we treat our guests' thing? Oh my god," Dani threw back a short laugh as they set their gaze back on Sam, "the look on your face was priceless. And I wasn't really sorry about it, but I invited you to play with me anyway because, you know, why not. But then when you were leaving, you found out I wasn't actually a guy -- which he totally thought I was, by the way," Dani murmured that one to Freya with an amused glance at her and Iann before returning to Sam again. "After that, I didn't think you'd come back. The other boys I'd met would only play with other boys, but you-- you did come back, the next day." There was a tiny pause there, a sniffle, and the eye contact that Dani held with Sam took a momentary break. There was an annoying wetness to their eyes, so they tried to blink it away. They wouldn't have cared if it was only them and Sam standing there, but it wasn't, and Dani didn't like shedding tears in front of other people. Tears meant weakness, and they were supposed to be strong for everyone in their life -- for Sam, for their family, friends, everyone. They would cover it as best they could, yet there was also the possibility that they'd get lost in the moment and wouldn't even notice a stray tear or two escaping their control. Maybe... maybe that wasn't such a bad thing. So, with a hastily cool strung back together, they continued, breaking out a bright, though mildly bashful, smile for the man in front of them.
"That day was... basically the happiest day of my life up to that point. I'd never had a friend before, no one outside of my family who liked me for me, not for convenience. Then, six months ago, you did it again. You came back into my life and you finally broke that stupid friend barrier we were too scared to approach for years. And now we're here," they tightened their hold on his hand, blissfully unaware, as they'd hoped, of the one tear that fell down the right side of their face, "which I couldn't have imagined all the way back then, but fuck," they loosed a soft, rickety chuckle, "I'm never gonna be sorry about that dumb shot, because somehow, it got us here, surrounded by our favorite people--” they paused to look around at everyone, but their eyes dropped at the sound of a bark, which called for an eye roll, and another chuckle, as they met Sam’s eyes once more, “--and dog -- and now my happiest day is the day I get to marry you, you fucking dork."
IANN: Weddings could be so weird. How many weddings had Iann gone to? A grand total of maybe two, if one counted that half-assed officiating at that party, that was Faye and her husband’s marriage-type thing. Now three, with Dani and Sam. And still, Iann marveled at the way one was supposed to display stories, feelings, emotions -- all sorts -- for an audience. Maybe this audience was small, but it was still an audience. And it was clear that Dani didn't like to display their emotions. Iann wished he had a starfish blanket to toss over them, and spare them the discomfort of being in front of everyone else except Sam. At least Dani was aware of why they didn't like to cry in front of others, even if the reason was very rooted in the way they were brought up, the people they looked up to and measured themselves against. Iann cried all the time himself, but he didn't understand why he didn't like it; he just didn't, so shut up, etc. Iann chose not to look at Dani while they gave their vows, studying his shoes instead, and Holmes at his side (okay, feeling the warm dog-weight against his shin was rather nice, he'd grudgingly admit that), trying his best to pay zero attention to anything Dani was doing or saying. Let their words and emotions be between Dani and Sam. Freya was extraordinarily good at being happy for the young couple and Fane Savin was… well Iann wasn't quite sure what Fane Savin was, but it seemed a little distant. Maybe he was doing the 'calm and cool dad' thing, Iann didn't know. Regardless, when Dani drew to an elegant and no-doubt touching conclusion to their vows, Iann looked up again. "Your turn, Sammyboy. Please tell me this is the moment where your sister tugs a guitar out of that paper bag and you do your vows via an acoustic rock ballad song you wrote yourself."
SAM: Sam couldn’t help the amused smile at both Iann’s teasing and Fane’s emphatic, “about damn time.” The lightness and humor helped ease his nerves a little, but the fluttering of butterflies in his stomach came back when Dani turned to him and began speaking, only to him. The memory of their first meeting as children, Dani’s first shot to his forehead with a nerf gun that turned into an all-out war between the two of them, running all over the estate together while their parents conducted whatever business it was... It brought a fond smile to his face, a warm glow in his chest. That one day had sparked a friendship so fierce that nothing could break it -- not time or distance -- and the fact that it deepened over time to what they shared together now only made sense. As they recounted the story, Sam only had eyes for them, the rest of their small gathering melting away as he reached a hand out to hold theirs, noticing the wetness glistening in their eyes. Sam felt his heart swelling at their last words, then he laughed lightly at how they chose to end the story, shaking his head just a tiny bit as if to say “of course.”
Sam looked briefly over at Iann when he told him it was his turn, biting his bottom lip a little though glad for the small joke at his expense. “Not exactly,” he said, then turned back to Dani and reached for their other hand so he was holding both between them. “I remember that day,” he began, his words unplanned, just responding to what Dani had said to him. “You were my first friend, and from then on we were inseparable. I wanted to see you every single day, because every time I saw you there was another adventure you had dreamed up for us.”
“But I remember another day, too. I never told you this. My feelings for you snuck up on me, over the years I hadn’t realized that underneath that foundation of a lifetime of friendship, that I had fallen for you a long time ago. Then, I saw you.” Sam’s eyes took in their face, remembering the exact moment he suddenly saw them in a new light, the moment he saw something new in himself. Finding emotions he hadn’t thought he was capable of. “The night of the Yule Ball, this past year. It was like every other year, every other party-- except we weren’t children anymore, hiding under tables and stealing crab cakes, and getting in trouble for sword fighting.”
Sam looked down at their clasped hands for a moment and took a breath before meeting their eyes again. “You came down the stairs, in that dress, and I looked at you and I just knew. It hit me like a ton of bricks, I felt it in the pit of my stomach. All it took was that moment, and I knew I was in love with you, that I had always been in love with you. I couldn’t take my eyes off you that entire night, it was like no one else was even in that ballroom but you. I was so distracted by you, I bumped into Iann,” he said, tone going a bit lighter as he gestured towards him with his head, “and spilled my drink everywhere. I thought for sure that everyone must know. How could they not see this enormous shift in my life? But they didn’t, and I kept it a secret because it was safe there. Because I was scared."
Sam squeezed their hands, anchoring them both in the moment. He didn’t mention the rooftop, knowing Dani was thinking of it without having to voice the words. Some things he wanted to keep between just the two of them. “But I’m not scared anymore. Because I have you, and you make me feel brave like I never have before. When we’re together, we can do anything. I want to spend the rest of my life being brave with you.”
Sam let out a breath, knowing they were almost done, feeling the confidence come back to him in the wake of his words. It was time for the vows they had prepared together on bluetooth while they both ran around getting everything ready for today. Not every word was memorized or planned, but they had an idea and it was enough to go on. Like always, they would make it up as they went, and somehow, it would just fall perfectly into place. He swallowed and looked into their eyes, smiling softly for a moment before he began the vows. “I promise to keep you and love you, above all others.”
DANI: The tiny shake of Sam's head at the end of their recounted tale was a breath of fresh air for Dani. The words were easy to say, to him, but they weren't alone, and their focus drifted easily by nature -- which wasn't such a bad thing when one needed to solve a problem swiftly and efficiently. Dani was attentive, and the nerves that came with speaking aloud thoughts and feelings that they would regularly share only with Sam was unavoidable. In the interim while Iann spoke up, Dani quickly swiped away the wetness from their cheek. They took another breath, a deeper one, as their demeanor steadied with attention for Sam and Sam alone.
It only broke briefly when he reached for their other hand, the one that held their bouquet. Dani looked low to the ground at Iann's side and called the canine seated there over with an imperative whisper of his name. The sheltie padded forward and they crouched down, holding out the flowers to him with delicate instruction. Holmes glanced up into his human's eyes and detected the importance of his duty there. He took the stems of the bouquet carefully in his mouth and returned to his spot beside the officiate, assuming a protective diligence over his task. "Băiat bun," Dani smiled at him. He snorted in a sort of dog nod. Then, they stood again and gave Sam the hand that he was reaching for.
Dani laughed quietly at his comments on their tale. They'd been a whole world of trouble as kids, but no matter what accidents happened as a result of their adventures, they had never stopped coming up with new ones. Those imagined worlds and experiences had been their escape from their daily realities -- school, lessons, overbearing sisters, family drama -- and for that, for the special reality they had crafted only for themselves, there was no separating the two of them. Despite distance, time, emotions, or disagreements, the space would always be there in their times of need.
Then Sam began to speak of something new, something that he hadn't told Dani before. It piqued their curiosity instantly and their gaze intensified, ready to soak in every bit of the secret he was about to share. What he said surprised them... but also didn't. In the midst of their hosting and socializing at their first Yule Ball in years, Dani had been moving around too much to realize that there had been a shift in their best friend. They'd had an inkling, just for a second, when the two of them locked eyes across the room, but that stare had been abruptly cut off and Dani had forgotten about it as they got swept up into the party business once more. They were grinning when he mentioned spilling his drink, being stunned by them, and scared. Dani had been too, but it wasn't until their time on the rooftop, that he withheld from mentioning aloud, that his difference had clicked for them. And maybe in themself, as well. At that time, Dani had been caught up in a sea of conflicts. Their girlfriend was furious at them for the information they'd neglected to share, she wanted a future with Dani that they couldn't see for the two of them, and among everything else, there was Fane's offer of immortality -- the dream that was meant to be an easy acceptance pulling them apart instead.
Of course, they'd shared all of this with Sam, and he'd listened, and he'd comforted them, and he'd been honest. One simple, little kiss to their forehead was all it took for Dani to blink their eyes open and see everything in a very new and very terrifying light. Neither of them had admitted to that discovery on that night, both of them fearing what it might do to their reliable friendship. In the end, everything had fallen into place on its own. It hadn't been neat or easy, but it had gotten them here with nothing left to be afraid of -- not between each other, anyway.
Dani could feel their heart beating against their chest, exhilarated by his confession and the readiness they felt to commit to his wish, because it wasn't just his. They squeezed his hands in return to translate their agreement without having to speak it. They wanted to kiss him right then and there. Badly. But they resisted, knowing that there would be a time for that at the close of their ceremony. A close that was now nearing a lot faster than they'd anticipated. Now came the part where they said the words they had actually planned, which felt just a tad less daunting after the heartfelt speeches that came from them without any preparation. Dani shifted on their feet, assuring their steadiness before they locked eyes with their partner. The following vows were an oath, after all. Dani and Sam would be living the rest of their lives on the lines they had arranged together, and now was the time to commit to them in front of the loved ones they had brought to witness.
As Sam delivered the first line, Dani wove their fingers together, craving the steadiness that came with it. "I promise to share your blessings, and your burdens."
SAM: Holding both of Dani's hands, Sam let them ground him in the moment, though his heart felt about ready to run away on him. After their emotional speeches to each other, the next few parts of the ceremony seemed easy in comparison. He smiled down at Holmes for a moment as he took the bouquet, then turned his attention back to their partner as they both began the recitations they'd planned. "To be your comfort, your sanctuary."
DANI: "To be your advocate and your protector," Dani gave his hands another squeeze, knowing their promise here was especially relevant in the wake of the family crisis he was facing, "for every battle."
SAM: Sam smiled a little as Dani squeezed his hands, taking in a breath at the sentiment from Dani. "To be your guide, and your follower, down every pathway, as equals."
DANI: "To be your lover... și sufletul pereche tau."
SAM: "Your light side..."
DANI: Even though they knew the Star Wars reference was coming, Dani still felt their eyes roll and gave an amused snort before replying, with just a hint of a smirk, "Your dark side."
SAM: Sam matched Dani's sly smile at the reference before making yet another, the Dothraki terms of endearment they'd taken to calling each other. "Yeri shekh akka shieraki."
DANI: "Jin jalan ki yeri atthirar," Dani grinned at the slyness they shared, but there was a softness in their eyes as well, because what came next, in their opinion, was the most integral and intimate part of all that they'd planned. This was what weddings were about, weren’t they? They held their breath in preparation, not squeezing Sam’s hands, but tightening the grip itself, then breathed and smiled. "To be your family."
SAM: Sam let out a breath at their words of commitment, making official something that they'd felt for each other for a long time. Family. "To be your family," he replied, gazing into their eyes before he went on. "Dani Savin--"
DANI: Dani dipped their head for no more than an instant, their smile growing with a tiny hitch in their breath. Family played such a huge role in both of their lives, in good ways, bad ways. You couldn't escape family. It would always be there, whether you acknowledged it or not, but choosing one's family, creating a new one, was something far different. Their next great adventure.
"Sam Floros--" Dani moved their hands in toward each other so that they met in the middle and set their focus back where it was meant to be, studying Sam's gaze and transferring one more speechless preparation. 'We've got this. Together. Ready--' Their hands were trembling, but not in any form of fear. They were buzzing with an excited energy that was impossible to entirely physically contain, and they knew Sam could feel it, even beyond its physical manifestation, as they quoted their final line in unison. "I pledge my life and honor to you, for this life and all the lives to come.
SAM: "I pledge my life and honor to you, for this life, and all the lives to come," he recited in unison with them, feeling a wash of happiness and relief flood through him. He could feel Dani's hands trembling in his own, and he pulled them up to his lips and pressed a soft kiss to their knuckles, not able to help himself.
IANN: Iann wasn't listening attentively -- again, it was really just too personal and intimate for his interest to hold. Which was fine, because none of this was for him anyway, so it was all win-win for all involved, in Iann's opinion. He was happy to let the happy couple talk meaningful words at and for each other to their warm little respective hearts' content. Iann instead pondered other things: like the cabin in the woods (again) and witches marrying humans, and humans who were raised by vampires, and vampire fathers. That dog that... actually kind of acted rather undog-like. It was... nodding? And sentient? Maybe Soapberry was just like that when it came to animals? Or disconcerting. Iann watched the creature meander back next to him, and he glared at it, and it stared balefully back up at him. Okay good. Glad they got that settled. Once the pair spoke in unison, Iann refocused on them. "Ah --" he waved his hand as if casting a spell. "You're married! Kiss each other while we all applaud your legal bonding that provides tax benefits!"
DANI: "You're married!" Iann said, and Dani felt their heart stop and start again as their marriage became not a hastily thrown together desire for commitment between two lifelong partners, but a stark, living reality sealed by a wave of their mutual friend's hand. They grinned, instantly, and yanked Sam forward by his hands before he could even blink, pulling him down by his vest for a kiss that left them utterly, fantastically breathless. Their hands had found the sides of his face by the time they parted, holding him there where their foreheads touched for a short while longer, wanting to burn every detail into their mind so they'd never forget the moment. "You're mine," they whispered under their breath, just gazing at him and giggling, highly, because they couldn't help themself. "And I'm yours."
SAM: Sam's grin at Iann's words as the moment sunk in was interrupted, though gladly, by Dani dragging him down and kissing him. His arms immediately went around them tightly, lifting them up off their feet, the kiss stealing his breath until he was smiling against their lips. He matched Dani's giddy laughter once they broke apart, as Freya cheered and applauded behind them. "I love you," he murmured.
FANE: Fane looked between Iann, Sam and Dani mostly having observed the ceremony with quiet thoughtfulness, smiling a little at the various fandom aspects he recognised thrown in here and there. He didn't particularly feel like there was much need to say anything, after all this was about Dani and Sam. The pair of them taking a step forward in their lives together, and as it was all sealed with a kiss, he felt happy but also a pang of sadness. They were grown up, an adult, and moving on with their life, and the thought almost knocked him back but he smiled, the act softening his features and masking his sadness whilst he clapped his hands for the both of them, glad that at least they had each other in this.
DANI: "Always," Dani smiled, slipping their arms down over Sam's shoulders and pressing another kiss to his lips, shorter this time. Then they smirked. "You can put me down now, you know." Once they were back on the ground, Dani took Sam's hands again, knowing their ceremony wasn't quite over yet. "Freya!" They looked around their husband's -- husband's, fuck! that was a thing now! -- shoulder and caught the young witch's attention with a sharp eye. "Ready to finish this off?"
SAM: Grinning, Sam set Dani back down as Freya hurried forward with the garland that Sam had made for the handfasting. She moved up in front of them, taking Iann's place as she took a deep breath to prepare herself for this important part of the ceremony. She had memorized the binding spell in the van on the way up, and the Latin words flowed easily from her lips, binding two souls magically as the garland was wrapped symbolically around their hands. Sam could feel something stirring in the air around them, like an electric charge, and then a deep glowing warmth settling within him. Freya's words came to a close, but the spell still needed to be sealed by a proclamation from the newlyweds. "Dani, Sam?" she prompted, having read that their names should be invoked during the spell. Sam looked over at Dani and sealed the spell with a simple yes in Latin, "Etiam."
DANI: Dani couldn't help grinning at Freya's eagerness. She looked about ready to burst with excitement, which they figured would bode well for the magical component of their ceremony. Spells generally turned out best with strong concentration and intent. They watched and listened keenly as the Latin words flowed so smoothly from the girl's lips. Even her wrapping of the garland that Sam had crafted was done with a practiced ease, though she'd never truly performed the spell before this. Dani felt the energy deep in their bones, like there was lightning running through their veins-- not painful, just powerful. Then there was the gradual warming sensation in their chest, making them so much more aware of... everything. "Etiam," Dani repeated after Sam. When the spell was sealed -- or sealing, rather -- the electrical buzz in Dani's body morphed with a supernatural rush akin to being hit by a sudden gust of wind, only from below rather than above. A ley line, possibly. They gasped, almost having to catch their breath as they took in the shift of the atmosphere around them. They could feel the forest and all the greenery around them. It was breathing, a whole network of connected living things all with their own vibrant, thriving energy to be harvested, and yet each energy was different from the next. It took them a second to catch onto what they were actually experiencing. They'd been so caught up in the energy around them that it took a few moments, including a look down at their hands and back up at Sam, finding that it wasn't just the forest's breath that they could detect. Their lips split into a grin. "Holy shit."
SAM: When the words were spoken and the spell coursed through the two of them, binding them together, Sam felt a sudden rush. It wasn't exactly a riptide or tidal wave that hit him, more like a steadily coursing river as he felt connected to the magic that lived deep beneath Dani's skin. He blinked a few times as he took it in, finding it stronger than he expected but pleasantly surprised by it. He knew the sensation would subside, as the binding spell took hold and settled within them both, but in the moment they were connected in a way neither of them had felt before. He could feel the soft buzzing coming off the people around them, and Sam looked up from their hands half expecting to see their auras in color. "Whoa," he murmured, looking back to Dani. He turned his hand up so his fingers threaded with theirs. He met their eyes, and in their heightened state of connection from the spell he could almost feel their heart beating.
DANI: Dani had always known that Sam's magic was central to who he was as person, and while they understood that on a personal level, they now understood it at a much deeper, intimate level. If they had been in his place and lost this -- being able to connect with nature itself and feeling it like a sixth sense -- they would have been ruined for it. Their fingers threaded with his automatically. It was even more instantaneous in this instance where they could literally feel one another beyond what was physically there. Dani kept eye contact with him as the spell settled, the high slowly wearing off but a very, very faint trace of it remained, like there was a string of spider's webbing between them that would send subtle sensations between the two, transferring inklings of emotions as well as warnings of danger. "Do you think... they felt it too?" they asked between breaths, still slightly shaken from making contact with Sam's magic. Not unlike how they'd been affected after being hit by the rebound of their grimoire's magic some few months ago.
SAM: Sam felt the magic settle down, but could still feel that subtle spiritual connection between him and his partner. Spouse. Letting out a breath, he looked over at Freya, who was boggling at them as if she hadn't expected quite that result from her spell. "Are... you guys okay?" Sam smiled at her and unwound the garland and draped it around Freya's neck. "Yeah. More than okay," he said, still slightly breathless. "You did good, kid. You're a good best man." Freya grinned in a way that made her resemble her brother more than she normally did, then she promptly burst into tears and threw her arms around his neck. When she had calmed down a bit and let him go, she repeated the hug on Dani.
DANI: At Freya's question of concern, apparently struck by the spell she'd just cast and how well it had turned out, Dani turned toward her and watched as Sam settled the garland around her neck. They nodded in agreement with Sam's words, "More than okay," and smiled fondly at the two of them. She was crying, again, to no one's surprise, but Dani welcomed her hug with a tight squeeze and a following smirk as the redhead released her. Their hands settled on her shoulders and they looked her firmly in the eye with a glisten of mischief. "Don't tell your sisters, but out of all of them, you're always going to be my favorite." Then they pulled back their hands, only to offer Freya a fist bump as assurance.
SAM: Freya let go of Dani and wiped her face before returning their fist bump. "You're my sister now," she said, a smile breaking across her face that was wet with tears of happiness. She hiccuped a little, then let out a breath, steadying herself. She knew what this meant for her relationship with Sam, things would be different. He was moving out, Dani would be the one he spent all his days with, Dani would come first. Freya was okay with that -- thrilled, actually -- but she'd have to adjust and learn to let her brother go, just a bit. "You take care of him. Got me?" It wasn't that typical sibling-threat one would expect, but instead a plea to stand by Sam and keep him safe, always.
DANI: "You're damn right, I am," Dani chuckled at Freya, her happiness, and the little hiccup that came afterwards. Then Freya turned things to a more serious note, and Dani returned the sincerity in kind, setting that intense gaze on Freya that they regularly utilized when making a promise. "Loud and clear. And if I ever screw up, you can feel free to spell my ass into oblivion. He's in good hands." Dani cast a quick, soft glance over at Sam before they straightened their back and turned toward the pair of grumbly old souls -- aka Iann and Holmes, who was still sitting there with a bunch of flowers in his mouth, evidently not thrilled about it -- and called out to the one that was human. "Cardero!" Dani waved him in their direction with an almost commanding tone. "Get over here, c'mon. I've got shit to say to you."
IANN: Iann made a mental note to demand what Freya had done, at some point after all this. It looked like a binding spell of some-sort, but Iann wanted to know the details. Since binding spells tended to vary in weight and bond depending on the spell, the ritual, the people involved, etc. This was was no doubt something to do with marriage, but still, Iann liked acquainting himself with the magical differences and nuances, especially if it was a coven thing. "Looks like you're stuck, pal," Iann said to the dog, before making his way over to the couple. "What do you have to say to me," Iann barked back at Dani, but his fingers pressed against their shoulder and Iann leaned in to kiss their cheek. "Felicidades, Savin Jr," Iann said to Dani before he grinned at Sam, scruffing the witch by the neck like one would a cat and delivering a more smacking kiss to his cheek as well. "Or is it felicidades Savin-Floros?"
SAM: Sam chuckled a little at the exchange between his sister and his spouse, but he caught the meaning in Dani's glance and felt the sincerity of their words. As Dani called Iann over to them, Sam slid back over to Freya and put his arm around her shoulder, tugging her against his side as she kept sniffling. He groaned at the exaggerated kiss to his cheek, but even that moment of sarcasm couldn't hide how happy he truly was. "We haven't talked about any of that," he admitted, chuckling. He wasn't convinced that changing anyone's name was necessary, it didn't make them any less married than they were right then.
DANI: Dani maintained a cross look for playful show until Iann came over and, to Dani's pleasant surprise, pressed a kiss to their cheek. It was one thing to receive that sort of affection from Sam, but getting it from Iann caused Dani's face to go red in a blush. While he was distracted with Sam, Dani stepped over and threw their arms around Iann's neck, giving him as tight a hug they could manage from being stretched up on the tips of their toes. They held there for a few seconds, sighing out as if he'd removed some massive weight off their back. "Thank you, Iann," they said, clearly, not some shy whisper in his ear but something they wanted Sam to hear too. "I'm really glad you fell off that stupid ship." That probably sounded a lot worse than it was, but Iann would understand, they knew. When they let him go, acting as if the heartfelt little moment had never happened, Dani considered the surname idea with a hum. "I mean... I think Floros-Savin sounds better, personally. But, I don't see any reason why we'd need to change names. Unless you want to," they looked at Sam questionably, curious for his opinion.
IANN: The hug honestly did come as a surprise. He expected the usual Dani-reaction: a shove or a snort or some snarky remark or even completely bypassing the well-wishing for something far more interesting. Which, honestly, was what Iann loved Dani for -- their inability to express certain things, in certain ways. It was one of those things that made Iann feel welcome in the loft, really -- their natural, congenial avoidance of anything... mushy. Touchy. It wasn't that Dani couldn't express, but they did it at arm's length from Iann and/or in the safe, protective privacy of Sam's arms. It was a good system, but of course their adorably heartfelt wedding did call for something a bit more expressive. And being Dani, they traded in Iann's kiss for a tight hug. A well-made barter if ever there was one. The 'thank you' made Iann clear his throat a few times gruffly (It was a frog. Allergies. Chewing gum caught in his throat.) and then Dani was back gaily discussing names with Sam, as Iann dreamily thought fondly of the SS Cormorant, and the way it all rolled out to this pretty fucking amazing moment in their collective lives.
SAM: Sam gave Freya a little shake as she finished sniffling and calmed down again. "Thanks, Iann," Sam said in agreement, smiling over at him as Dani hugged him. "Don't forget to sign the thing later," he teased, though not actually sure how many weddings Iann had officiated before. He shrugged when Dani asked about the name. "Floros-Savin does sound better, it's the S-S. But I don't think we need to. We've never really been traditional, anyway." Just saying it brought a smile to his face, since this entire day had been as nontraditional as they could get. But in the end, he wouldn't have it any other way.
DANI: Dani smiled at Sam's response, nodding softly before they answered, "No, we haven't, have we?" They chuckled and sidestepped over towards him, nudging under his arm so it could drape over them, like in Freya's case, and rested their head on his shoulder, sighing contentedly. They didn't care about names or titles or what anyone else thought of them -- what they thought might be 'right' or 'conventional' in opposition to their very impromptu, very unique little marriage ceremony -- as long as they had him, that was all they needed. His coven was likely to be furious, but they'd face that obstacle when the time was right. Whatever the case, they wouldn't be able to break up the two of them now. Their marriage wasn't only legal, it was spiritual-- or, magically established. They weren't sure exactly how the bonding spell worked, but the results certainly had a weight of permanence about them. "So we'll keep our names for now, and if we change our minds later, we'll work it out then. One thing at a time, yeah?"
FANE: Fane stood by as Dani thanked Iann and Sam spoke to Freya, a part of him itching to pull out a smoke if only for the comforting familiarity of the scent and taste, knowing he'd speak to both Dani and Sam in their own respective time. It wasn't as if any of them were in a rush, and plus, Sam was now officially family. Not only in the general sense of the term but legally as well. There were also arrangements for some sort of hashed-up celebratory BBQ in the gardens along with finding an adequate gift. He'd just received a text from Ryan, who wasn't best pleased at being excluded from the activities, when Fane noticed Dani approaching out of the corner of his eye and he tucked his phone away. "That was... wow," he breathed out, not really sure what else he could say considering the mixture of things he was feeling right now regarding everything going on, but he kept a light smile. "You know, Ry isn't happy at the lack of invite, by the way."
DANI: After Dani had given their thanks to Iann and Freya, they pressed a kiss to Sam's cheek -- the one Iann hadn't smooched -- and left him to converse with his sister and their mutual friend. Fane had been quiet throughout most of the ordeal, perhaps in shock or as a means of processing the myriad of emotions Dani knew he must be feeling right now. He wasn't the biggest fan of sudden, life-changing events, and neither was Dani. But Sam was their exception to every rule. Today had been more than enough evidence for that.
Dani dipped their head and a quiet laugh slipped past their lips at their father's grapple for words. "Not too bad, huh? And to think I lacked the skill for event planning." As they neared him, their arms opened and wrapped him in a hug around his middle, lingering there for a short time while they breathed. "I know," they murmured into his chest, making a half step back to look up at him but not yet breaking their embrace. Their foot lifted and flexed once to indicate where their phone had been this whole time. "My foot feels like it's practically gone numb from all his texting. I should have thought to put it on silent."
Another laugh later, Dani sighed and fixed a more sincere expression in their father's view. "I'm sorry we didn't tell you earlier, but we wanted it to be secret. We couldn't risk anyone finding out before it was done, and there was always the chance that if I'd texted you and Ryan had seen it, he would have blown up the local social media and spoiled the surprise. I wish he could have been here -- I wish everyone could have been here -- but you were the only one we needed, and the smaller the crowd the better." Dani dropped their arms and stepped back, but took Fane's hands, squeezed them, and smiled warily. "You're a father to the both of us, you always have been. We trust you, and we will fill you in, just later." They glanced back toward Sam with a tiny glint of worry in their eye. "Today is supposed to be happy, and I'd like to keep it that way."
FANE: Fane still really wasn't entirely sure how he felt, and perhaps it was cold or cruel or whatever other word that might be thrown about, but he couldn't really help the disassociation he felt to the current situation and goings on. Even if it was a long time coming. After all, one of his only hopes when Dani did grow up was to be involved and help plan this particular day and being excluded regardless of the reasons for it... Well, there wasn't much he could say to it beyond it didn't leave him feeling particularly celebratory. This was about Dani moving on with their life and Fane letting them go, he'd hoped it would be a transition and yet it felt like a ripcord had been pulled and yanked him out a plane at ten thousand feet. But those were feelings and things he kept to himself, and as Dani approached he plastered a smile onto his features, banding such things away for his own private contemplation as he enveloped them in a hug, letting them lean into his taller frame and rubbing their back gently. He glanced down at their foot and laughed a little, "Guess it serves you right. This certainly won't be the last you or I will suffer of his complaining. Now I hope you realise the fate you've bound us all to."
The explanation only served to ease ever so slightly how he felt, being told how much he was the only one needed here but he merely shook his head as Dani went on to explain what had prompted all of this. "Don't worry about it... I spoke to Sam earlier and he said the same thing, so... I believe you, whatever it is..." Fane assured, retreating to his natural stance of not making a big deal out of how he felt publicly, especially when he recognised the glint of worry in their eyes when they directed their gaze towards Sam. "And, you're both family to me... You always will be and I'm always going to be here if you ever need me... No matter what happens, hm? You're my child and I love you... I love you more than anything in this world and I'm happy for you. Truly so." he gave their hands a reassuring squeeze. "I might not have much experience with weddings but one thing I know is usually they're happy occasions. Domestic scenes caused by drunk family members aside." The last part was said lightly to ease the conversation, not particularly wanting to weigh it down with anything overly heavy.
IANN: Meanwhile, Iann gooses Sam, and Freya totally encourages it while she takes photos. Really, really artful photos of Sam getting goosed by his marriage's officiant-- what a story to tell the kids, ten years from now!
DANI: Dani groaned. "He's never going to let this go, is he? At least you have the excuse of being roped in unawares. I'm the one who gets to bear the brunt of his angsty complaining." It did serve them right. Despite how wonderful the ceremony had been, the rest of their family had been left out of it. And the friends who had come to know them or had known them from before -- Ruby, Tuah, Teddy, Bella, Nuadia, to name a few. And Sofia -- who had been rooting for them from the start, constantly badgering the two of them to 'just get together already!' But she wouldn't have been able to come even if she wanted to. She was Adele's daughter, which meant that if she had come to support their marriage, she would be putting herself at risk for being ousted from the coven as well. It was simply too great of a risk.
"How many bottles of wine do you think it's gonna take before Ry is hanging from the chandelier?" Dani took the lightened tone of the conversation in their stride, snickering at the thought of all the drama they were likely to face later that night. But the laughter turned to fondness with ease, Fane's loving words still swirling around in their head. They gripped his hand tightly once more, their eyes getting watery around the edges. They told themself it was just the hilarious idea of Ryan's antics, but truthfully, they knew that wasn't the case. "Te iubesc, Tată. I know I suck at showing it, but I do. And although you didn't have much of a part to play in the ceremony, it would mean the world to us if you'd come down to town and help us really get this officialized. After all, you know far more about paperwork and legal logistics than we do. In fact, we... we don't really know what we're doing at all. We haven't made any plans or talked about where we're going from here, but... we'll figure it out. That's what we've always done, and I'm sure we'll need some old man pointers along the way." They threw a tease in at the end to lighten things again, then got caught up watching the antics between Iann and Sam, smirking like a fox at the amusing annoyance their husband had been left to face.
SAM: When Sam escaped from the attention of both his sister and Iann, he went the short distance to join Dani and Fane, greeting his new father-in-law with a wide smile. Jumping into the conversation once the sweet moment between them had passed, hearing Dani say that they needed help making it all official. "We need a marriage license," he put in. "You must know at least someone at City Hall, right?" They had both been hoping Fane would be able to pull some strings and get them their paperwork without them having to wait for it, because they were impatient. As this impromptu ceremony clearly showed. "And rings, but I think we have an idea for that," he said, smiling over at Dani.
IANN: "He's probably not going to talk to me for a week now," Iann said to Freya, laughing and also vaguely wondering if he should go. This was starting to melt into a pleasant and intimate family affair, and Iann didn't want to be a part of intimate family junk. He took Freya's hand and shook it. "Tell them bye," he said to her, then paused as he looked around. "Ahh.... also can you tell me which way to get out of here? Forest all looks the fucking same to me." Sure Dani drove him here, but he could easily walk a ways and maybe hitch a ride to Pyewacket… once he was placed back on the road, anyway.
FANE: "Nope, enjoy that hole you've dug yourself into," Fane needled lightly out of good-humour despite everything. Though the talk of alcohol and Ryan caused him to chuckle, "Oh a fair few, maybe five depending on the vintage obviously. No champagne either, you know what he thinks of that piss water," his lips curled into a wry smile. The Romanian caused him to dip his head, stepping in to hug them again and press a kiss to their temple. "I know." But he put half a step back between them at the talk of helping them with the... paperwork side of things. Of course he got lumbered with the paperwork side of it. It was hard not to feel a little stir of something not all too great, but again he smiled at Dani and Sam as he joined their small gathering, stepping over to give him a hug too. "Yeah, 'course, I've got a few strings I can pull to get it put through... Speaking of, what are you doing for rings?"
DANI: "Oh yes, I'm very aware. He ranted about it profusely the last time he got thoroughly hammered at a party." Dani shook their head, warmed by the memories of their most externally dramatic family member. They leaned into their father's kiss and smiled at Sam's approach, even more so when he and Fane shared a touching father-son embrace. "Thank you, Dad. We're going to owe you, big time." Dani found Sam's hand without having to look and gave their arms a bit of a swing, grinning across at him. "Oh, I might have booked a little tattoo session. Nothing like a bit of permanent ink to seal the deal, yeah?"
SAM: Sam couldn't help pressing a quick kiss against Dani's temple when they took his hand. The paperwork wasn't something he was super concerned about, it was just a formality really. He knew signing the papers wouldn't make him feel any more married than he already did in that moment. He grinned at them as they described the idea they'd come up with together earlier in the day. Finding rings that they both liked, in the right size, and in the time constraint of their sudden elopement, just wouldn't have been possible. Not to mention the fact that they both preferred the idea of tattoos to traditional rings anyway. "It'll be great," he said excitedly, looking forward to getting new ink, especially one that meant so much to both of them on the most important day of their lives. Before they could head out though, Sam looked back to realize that Holmes had had enough of the festivities and was lying on the ground at his spot by the tree, the bouquet still dutifully in his mouth. Sam whistled, and the old dog got to his feet and padded over to them. Sam took the bouquet from him with a little smile, brushing it off a bit before he passed it back to Dani. "Ready?" he asked his new spouse, grinning again just at the reality of being married to Dani.
DANI: If Dani and Sam never got around to signing any paperwork, Dani wouldn't have cared. Maybe official logistics mattered to some people, but their vows and the spell that Freya had cast was more than enough for them. Hell, for all they cared, they'd been married the moment they'd decided to get married. The tattoos were important to the both of them as a physical recognition of the ceremony they had both now completed. Dani was accustomed to getting new ink. They would always love the sensation of it, but this appointment was one they would remember above the others because it stood for something so much more profound than just a protective measure or a symbol of equality. They would be marking their bond on skin, externally, to reflect the internal -- even spiritual -- connection they shared and sworn to keep. When Holmes padded over at Sam's call, a little warmth blossomed in Dani's chest. 'Not a dog person' their ass. Holmes never would have listened to him if he hadn't grown to like the florist at least a bit and felt respected in return. He was picky that way. Dani took the bouquet from Sam with a slight grimace, finding the stems a bit damp as a result of being held so long and so dutifully. However, it didn't damper their spirits in the slightest. "Yeah," they grinned at their newly proclaimed husband, tugging on his vest to steal one last small kiss before they headed out. "Let's get inked. We've got a town-wide social media to fuck up."

Son of a Bitch
This is a prequel to the wonderful fic ElRoy wrote for me a while back. She knows how long I’ve had this idea and done nothing with it, so at least it’s finally out. Plus, it gave me something to finish for this challenge, since I started about six different ideas and got about six hundred words in before deciding that, nope, this was a horrible idea. Maybe those’ll come out one day, but this is what I’m submitting. And the other challenge ended up working into it so…um…yeah, two birds and all that :D
Fuck me, this feels even more fanfiction-y than usual. At least with the reader-inserts I can pretend I’m not just writing Me/Dean, but now I’m being outed xD
Also, apologies for any mistakes. This is unbetaed and unedited and, man, I could’ve written a hundred more pages on this and I tried really hard to cut it down to a readable length and okay, stalling. Awesome.

He shot up in bed, panting. His hand ran down over his face, his breath heavy, as he tried to calm himself down. He looked down, finding himself naked and under a thin sheet of bed in an apartment he’d never seen before.
Off to his side lay the creamy white bare back of some women he’d never seen before either. He thought her beautiful, with long brown hair fanned out around her as she snored quietly.
He hoped that this was either a dream or he would remember the obviously fun night before.
He crawled out of bed, pulling the clothes that littered the floor on as he walked out into main room.
It was a nice apartment, and his brow furrowed the more he looked around.
Then he walked over to the island counter that separated the small kitchen from the living room. A pile of mail rested on the edge, scattered like it had been thrown there. He picked up a few of the letters, immediately identifying them as bills. A few were addressed to someone named Katie--he assumed it was the girl he had woken up next to--but what really caught his eye were the ones addressed to him. And all pointed to a single town: Lawrence, Kansas. He frowned, confused as hell. “What the hell?”
“Hey.”
He whipped around to face her.
The woman from the bed was standing in the doorway that led to the bedroom. She wore only a button-up flannel overshirt that was huge on her. It startled him to realize that he recognized the shirt as his.
Her blue eyes narrowed and her brow furrowed as she walked over to him. “What’re you doing up?”
He immediately went into panic mode. “Hey…Katie,” he pulled out his boyish smile, hoping that would be enough to calm her. “Katie, I just, uh…”
She took his hand in hers once she was close enough, then looked up at him as she played with his calloused fingers. “Are you having trouble sleeping?”
“Yeah,” he laughed awkwardly, thankful for the excuse.
She smiled, obviously still unconvinced. “C’mon, you know that’s my department…” she smiled half-heartedly, still searching him for clues as to what was wrong. Finally, she sighed lightly. “Okay…well, if you want,” her hand trailed up his arm with featherlight touches right up to the short hairs at the nape of his neck. Her eyes locked with his as she smiled shyly, “I can help tire you out?”
He stuttered, pulling a nervous smile. “Sure. Yeah. In a minute, you go ahead.”
She rolled her eyes. “Don’t sound too excited,” she replied as she leaned up, pulling his head down for a soft, simple kiss. When she fell back onto her heels, Dean found himself following her just a bit.
He looked down at her, really taking her in for the first time. Her large blue eyes, filled with concern and love, gazed up at him. Without thinking, he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead, which made her beam like a kid on Christmas morning.
She left him then, walking back into the bedroom.
As soon as she was out of sight, he let his panic show and began to search the apartment.
Pictures of the girl were there, as expected, but what confused him most were the pictures of him and the girl, hugging and kissing and posing for most of them.
Without thinking, his hand went down to trace over the words tattooed on his wrist: Son of a bitch.
Was she his soulmate? This was insane. He would’ve remembered meeting his soulmate, no matter how drunk he was. But it wasn’t like he could run in and question her without it blowing his cover.
He turned around, running a hand down over his face as he thought. A picture on another shelf caught his eye, and his breath stopped. He walked over to it slowly, like it was a mirage that would disappear if he moved too quickly. He picked it up the second he was close enough, his eyes widened.
All thoughts about soulmates were quickly forgotten.
When Dean woke up, he told Sam about his dream. He was then silent about it. Sam had asked more about their mom and his life with Jess, .
“I don’t know…Katie and Jess seemed to get along fine enough, but you and I--”
“Wait…who’s Katie?”
That silenced him. “…Some dream made by the djinn, I guess.”
“Was she…was she your soulmate?”
“It doesn’t matter, Sammy--she doesn’t exist.”
“Soulmate stuff is weird, Dean.”
Dean scoffed at that. “C’mon, she was too perfect. She loved my music and knew everything about cars and could drink alongside me--it was like the bastard just took a picture from my head and made her. She doesn’t exist!”
Sam sighed heavily. “Well, you’re probably right. Sorry.”
Dean ran a hand down in his face in frustration. “No, I…I’m sorry. I shouldn’t’ve yelled at you. Look, let’s just forget about this, alright? We got bigger fish to fry.”
And that was the last the boys spoke of it for three more years.
Katie really didn’t want to go to work today.
There was literally nothing to do, as usual. For the past three months, she woken up, gone into work, had no task, gone home, and went to bed.
Her time was spent either playing Hearthstone on her phone at her desk, listening to YouTube, or, if she was really lucky, she was answering questions brought to her by other teams with shit to do.
She thumbed the words on her wrist, as she usually did when she felt down: Holy crap. She was thankful as all hell that the words were unique, that they were unmistakeable. She was one of those people that couldn’t wait to meet their soulmate. She hadn’t even so much as held hands with anyone, waiting for her soulmate.
However, here she was, in her mid-twenties, feeling more alone than ever in a place she felt useless.
Her life had come to a complete standstill.
So imagine her surprise when, as she walked into her office that morning, she found it surrounded by crime scene tape. Trying to find out what was going on, she searched the small crowd for a familiar face. Unfortunately, there was no one and heaven knows that she didn’t have the ability to actually initiate a conversation with someone she didn’t know.
Instead, Katie stood awkwardly over by the gate, craning her neck and standing on her tip-toes to try and get a glimpse of what was going on.
What she saw was a thick, black plume of smoke coming right towards her.
Then she couldn’t see anything.
Dean and Sam walked into the abandoned warehouse. Sam was clutching Ruby’s knife tightly, whilst Dean twirled an angel blade.
They, unfortunately, hadn’t heard from Castiel in days, as he was still searching for God.
Meanwhile, the boys had taken a relatively simple demon hunt in LA, searching for anything to keep them occupied. Perhaps they hadn’t had a chance to explore the brights lights of Hollywood just yet, but the idea of having a hunt was just as distracting, so they were okay.
The building was in the middle of the industrial part of town, covered in grime, dust, and neglect. It was once probably a warehouse and was surrounded by identical building on every side. They might’ve gotten lost for a few minutes in the sea of identicals, but they were at least eighty percent sure that this was the right place.
Sam took point, leading the way into the warehouse. His hazel eyes danced over every inch of the place, looking for anything out of place, any place where a demon could get the jump on them.
There were, as far as they could tell, only one or two demons in this place. They’d apparently captured some people for a ceremony to summon some bigwig demon.
Blah blah, demon stuff.
Finally, they found a large, open room. About six people were tied up, resting in the middle near each other. Some of them seemed to be unconscious, but there were scared murmurs that told them that some were awake.
They crept down the stairs to the room silently.
“Well, this is definitely not a trap,” Dean grumbled quietly. Sam shushed him as they came across the group. The younger Winchester pushed the door open.
The people looked up in fear, which turned to confusion as they saw men they’d never seen before.
Sam held a finger to his lips, quickly silencing the small group. “Alright, we’re gonna get you all out of here. Just be as quiet as you can.”
Everyone shuffled back, afraid that this was a trick of some sort, especially with the serrated blade in his hand. He walked up to a girl near the front. She looked high school age, with bright blonde hair that was probably once in a ponytail but had long since come undone.
Sam held his left hand out, his puppy eyes working their magic. “Here, give me your hands.”
The girl’s eyes darted between Sam, the knife, and her own bound hands. Finally, she slowly held her hands out, and Sam cut her loose. The second she was free, she climbed to her feet and ran over to the door.
Others then started coming up to Sam, holding their hands out.
Except for one.
Dean hadn’t been able to keep his eyes off of her since walking in.
It was Katie.
For the first time since the two men entered the room, she looked up. She watched Sam for a moment before seeing Dean blatantly staring at her. Her pale cheeks flushed red and she turned away, focusing once again on the ground by her feet.
“Holy crap,” Dean spoke, just loud enough for her to hear.
Her head snapped up, her eyes wide enough to pop out of her head. She looked shocked, but quickly, she practically rolled her eyes. “Son of a bitch.”
Then the black smoke returned, obviously gunning for her.
He dove for her, barely making it in time to cover her. The smoke flew around, looking for a host not covered by someone with an anti-possession tattoo.
Dean began shouting in Latin and pulled her to her feet. He pulled her by her still-bound wrists towards his brother.
Without needing prompting, Sam began herding the people out the way they came, trying to keep the swirling smoke above their heads away from the group.
As they ran from the building, it began to fill with lightning and powerful gusts of wind. The crowd of people bustled and screaming, tripping over their own feet and doing nothing to help their situation. As the boys guided the cluster out of the building, they stopped often to lift one person to their feet or to pull the one moron in every horror movie who stands there and watches their doom coming towards them.
Dean finally finished the exorcism as they reached the door to the building. Sounds that were almost screams came from the black clouds that had been following ever closer behind them.
Everyone ducked as the smoke blew past them and then towards the ground, leaving burn marks on the sidewalk as the only evidence that anything had been following them.
There was silence for a moment as they all stared at the charred remains of pavement.
Then the girl who Dean had yet to let go started reaching for Dean’s wrist. “Lemme see,” she begged quietly.
Dean looked down at her before handing over her hand. She touched it reverently, like it would disappear at any moment.
Then she looked up at him and laughed breathlessly. “Of course I had to be kidnapped to meet you.”
He smiled widely; not the smile he gave to women he tried to pick up in bars, not the smile he gave when he felt awkward and was trying to break the tension, but a true, genuine smile. “Just my luck, too.”
She coughed awkwardly, dropping his hand. “Um, can I get some help, please?”
Dean’s grin looked more like his usual one now. “Sure, here,” he took her wrists and had her freed in a moment.
Sam walked over as Dean finished freeing her, automatically rubbing his hands across her raw wrists. “Hey,” Sam trailed off a bit, noticing the weird interaction between the two. “C’mon, we gotta get out of here before the cops show up.”
She grasped at Dean’s flannel. “W-Wait, you’re leaving?”
Dean turned back to her, frowning. “Not without you, Katie. C’mon, I’ll explain on the way.”
She frowned. “Wait, how do you know my name?”
Dean chuckled awkwardly, looking between his brother and his soulmate. “That’s a long story, sweetheart.”
A week later, the Winchesters had yet to leave Los Angeles.
Katie had gotten the talk the night after being saved. She’d been able to tell them what she remembered, and they figured that the demons had been possessing people to bring them to the warehouse for the sacrifice.
She had heard the word “sacrifice” and had gone even paler, if that were possible for the Casper-esque girl. She’d then muttered some platitude that didn’t express how thankful she was, and Dean took her hand, twining their fingers together.
He’d told her about his djinn dream and her role in it, which had sparked endless questions from them both. The sum of the conversation was that, no, she knew next to nothing about cars; she wasn’t a nurse, but an aspiring writer; she liked some eighties music but didn’t know a lot about it; and that she was only slightly similar to the dream version of her.
She knew that this tiny bit of information would make her anxious for years to come, anxious that she couldn’t live up to this perfect version of her. When she brought it up a few days later, he’d just shrugged. He brushed some of her bangs from her face and said simply, “I like this version of you more.”
That had earned him their first kiss, which had been all teeth and not that good. She’d pulled back, embarrassed. Dean had laughed and then taught her how to kiss properly for quite a while after that.
They’d decided that Katie would go on the road with them. With their stolen credit cards, they didn’t have to worry about her job, and they could keep her shitty little apartment as a place to come home to sometimes (she refused to give up her books and video games).
So, the three of them rested up in her little place as they searched for the next case. She even managed to drag them to Disneyland at one point, which both bemoaned, but they eventually got into it (if only because she was so excitable the entire day).
Sam and Katie also got along quite well. They geeked out over their love of true crime, which had freaked Dean out a little. She was also fascinated with how they figured things out, including how to hack into things and get new credit cards. Sam promised to show her how to do all of that, and she immediately decided that she loved the man.
Usually, though, the soulmates were sitting together, learning as much as they could about the other.
And making out. There was a lot of that.
They were constantly touching in one way or another. Whether it be Dean’s hand on her lower back, Katie resting her head on his shoulder, him throwing an arm around her shoulders, her sneaking up and hugging him whenever she could. They were disgusting.
When they finally found a case and had to leave, Katie packed a small bag and offered to crawl into the back.
Dean was having none of that.
Sam groaned at the news, which made his brother frown. “What’re you complaining about, Sammy? You can spread your legs out in the backseat.”
“And watch you two? Can I ride in the trunk?”
“No, you can’t ride in the trunk. Suck it up, moose.”
Katie sent Sam a pitying look. “We’ll tone it down, I promise.”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep, baby,” Dean grinned, leaning down to peck her on the lips.
Sam groaned again as he crawled into the backseat.
Katie shoved Dean playfully. “Don’t be a dick.”
“C’mon, we’ll have to put up with it when Sammy meets his soulmate,” Dean reasoned as they both slid into Baby.
Without thinking, Katie slid across the bench seat, nestling into Dean’s side. “Fair point, but that’s no reason to torture him now.”
Dean’s grumbling was quieted by her being so close. She pulled up the box of cassettes, picking one at random and pushing it into the player.
As the first few notes began playing, Katie grinned. “Hey, who is this? This is great!”
Dean’s smile got bigger as Sam’s groan got louder.
Years later, when Katie was standing in a small church outside of Lebanon, Kansas, Katie couldn’t believe her life anymore.
She looked down to the end of the aisle, a giant smile on her lips as she saw Dean, fiddling with his FBI suit. He saw her and broke out in a large smile. She gave him a small wave with the hand that wasn’t holding the bouquet before disappearing into the bridal room.
In the room stood the bride herself, smoothing a few errant wrinkles from her white skater-style dress in front of the full-length mirror. Katie walked up with a big, bright smile and handed the bouquet over.
ElRoy, the bride, turned to face her, taking the bundle from her with unshed tears of joy. Katie’s eyes, of course, immediately began to well up. They laughed breathlessly as ElRoy said, “I can’t believe I’m getting married.”
“I can.” Katie leaned up the few inches that made the difference in their heights and fixed ElRoy’s updo. “I half-expected you two to run off and get married after the first date.” she chuckled at the memory. “You should’ve seen Sam. He was so smitten. Dean’s teasing was relentless.”
ElRoy nodded, like this was nothing surprising. “Well, your husband has taught me to expect nothing less.”
“And how,” Katie nudged the bride playfully.
They laughed once more before Katie held her arm out. “Ready?”
ElRoy looked as happy as Katie had on her own wedding day, a day that felt like it was weeks not years prior. Katie squeezed ElRoy’s hand with her free hand, smiling warmly at her. ElRoy took a deep breath and squeezed back.
And so, Katie pushed open the door to walk her new sister down the aisle and complete their little family.

“What’re you guys thinking for the ceremony? You exchanging rings?” Fiona asks Mickey, sliding into the booth across from him. “If you are, we should probably start looking. Might be tough finding matching groom’s rings in a Southside pawn shop.”
Mickey shrugs and smiles at her a little bashfully. “We were actually thinking we might go with tattoos,” Mickey admits. “More permanent, you know? Plus, cheaper.”
“Really?” Fiona asks, eyeing him carefully for a moment, and Mickey shrugs again, pulling out a napkin.
“Got a pen?” he asks expectantly, raising a brow in her direction.
“I do.”
Fiona hands it over, amused smile touching her lips as Mickey sets to work sketching out the idea with careful concentration. After a moment, he passes the sketch over to Fiona, and her amusement turns to genuine shock. On the paper in front of her are Mickey and Ian’s names drawn in delicate script, extending out on either side in lovely twining loops that Fiona knows are meant to close, leaving the ink unbroken when it’s etched into their skin.
She blinks slowly up at Mickey, at a loss for words for a moment before pressing out a soft “Jesus,” and meeting Mickey’s eye.
He drops his gaze then, suddenly insecure. “You hate it,” he supplies nervously, dragging the paper back from Fiona’s gaze.
“No,” Fiona insists immediately, eyes wide as a smile stretches over her lips. “I think it’s really fuckin’ beautiful.” With that, Mickey’s eyes lift to meet hers and the honesty in her tone brings back a touch of his confidence, but he says nothing, so Fiona smiles and quips, “Just shocked you’ve got such impressive artistic skills.”
Mickey laughs at that and shoves the napkin back toward Fiona. “When it matters,” he tells her playfully. “Now shove that in that little notebook of yours so we can make the plan official.”
A few days later, they’re finalizing the last of the plans at the Gallagher house, waiting for Fiona to get home, and Ian’s down to worrying over the way they’re going to decorate the reception space. Mickey’s mildly amused at the way Ian keeps jumping around ideas and obsessing over every last detail. But as much as Mickey loves Ian’s excitement, he’s starting to worry about the stress on Ian, so he’s glad they’re nearly finished with the planning end.
“Should we do flowers?” Ian asks curiously as he settles down beside Mickey on the couch and flips through a wedding magazine.
When Mickey sees it, he rolls his eyes. “Oh, Jesus Christ,” he mumbles at Ian, but there’s no heat behind it. Instead, there’s a fond playfulness to his tone. “The fuck you on about?”
“I mean, flowers are traditional, right?” Ian asks, and there’s excitement in his tone. “Feels a little weird—we’re not really flower guys, I know—but it could be nice, right? What do you think?”
Mickey glances at Ian for a moment and takes a deep breath. He can see from Ian’s excitement that he’s not getting out of this one. He sighs and gives in. “Red roses. Not many. One per table. Seven on ours for the number of years since we started this whole thing. Just the roses. No frilly shit. Maybe petals or a couple bundled at the end of each row of chairs to decorate for the ceremony?”
Mickey stops then when he notices the way Ian’s blinking at him with wide eyes.
“Holy shit,” Ian breathes out as a smile stretches over his lips.
“Ah, Christ. What?!” Mickey questions, a touch of defensiveness coloring his tone as he watches Ian closely.
“You’re really fucking into this,” Ian accuses and Mickey rolls his eyes. “You are! You’re excited!“
“Fuck off,” Mickey tries through the wide smile he can’t shake from his face.
Ian doesn’t let him continue, just tackles Mickey back into the couch and captures Mickey’s lips desperately, before letting out a giddy laugh and squeezing Mickey tight.
“Jesus Christ,” Fiona’s voice wakes them from where they’re curled around one another, and they both raise their eyes to her curiously. “Did you two fuck on my couch?!”
Mickey and Ian glance between one another, realizing too late that they’re both still sex rumpled and stripped down to their boxers.
Ian shrugs and looks up at Fiona. “No?” he ventures unconvincingly, guilty little smile playing across his features, and Fiona shakes her head at him before mumbling her way to the kitchen.
As she goes, they hear her murmur the words I’m gonna change the fucking locks, and they can’t contain their laughter as Ian presses his face into Mickey’s chest. A moment later, though, when they manage to get themselves under control, Ian’s shoving off of Mickey and then dragging him up off the couch so they can throw the rest of their clothes back on and follow Fiona into the kitchen. They’ve still got a bit of work to do on finishing up the wedding plans, and they’re going to need Fiona’s help with the last of it.
A few days later, Ian wanders into their bedroom to find Mickey propped up against the pillows, stubbing out a cigarette in the ashtray on the bedside table.
“Ran into Trevor on my way home today. At that little coffee shop on the corner,” Ian confides, leaning over to kiss Mickey in greeting.
“Okay,” Mickey draws out the response, eyeing Ian cautiously. “And?”
“Don’t get fucking jealous,” Ian retorts when he notices the way Mickey’s features have twisted into an annoyed glare he’s trying to hide. “You know there’s nothing going on there. Plus, you like Trevor, remember? We’re friends?”
Mickey rolls his eyes. “Yeah, all of us,” he counters, but there’s not much heat behind his tone. “You, me, him. We don’t hang out in separate little groups or some shit.”
Ian sighs as he starts stripping out of his work clothes. Mickey watches him appreciatively, and Ian can’t help but smirk a little when he catches Mickey staring. “It’s not like I set up a date, man. We were both there. We sat together. End of story.” Ian pauses for a moment to climb into bed beside Mickey, where he presses another kiss to Mickey’s lips in reassurance. It’s not exactly late, but they’re both exhausted and Mickey's brothers have taken over the living room anyway, so Ian settles in next to Mickey. “He had some ideas. I think they’d be worth considering.”
“Ideas?” Mickey raises an eyebrow in confusion. “‘bout what?”
“The wedding,” Ian confides, shifting closer to Mickey and entwining their legs as he settles himself along Mickey's side, resting his head against Mickey's shoulder.
“Seriously?” Mickey questions, a hint of disbelief coloring his tone. “Thought we were done with the planning?” Ian shrugs a little, and he’s trying to look innocent. Mickey sees right through him and gives him a little glare. “What is it?” he questions, tone hinting at exasperation.
Ian glances up at Mickey and he looks a little guilty, but there’s also excitement behind his eyes, and it brings a soft smile to Mickey’s lips. For the past couple of weeks, Mickey’s been trying to pretend he’s over the planning shit, but Ian’s excitement is fucking contagious.
“We request any of the permits for the park venue yet?”
“No fucking way,” Mickey counters immediately, his voice full of disbelief, and his amusement suddenly disappearing. “We are not changing the ceremony space, Ian. It took us weeks to agree on that. Plus, we’re barely a month out. We can’t just change venues.”
“But, Mick,” Ian’s voice is near a whine, and Mickey can’t help but shake his head at that. He should probably be more annoyed than he is, but he gives Ian his full attention as Ian babbles on about the ideas Trevor offered. “Trevor has this friend who owns this unique little local bookshop. It’s just a couple blocks from the park,” Ian explains, all desperate enthusiasm as he tries to convince Mickey to at least consider a new plan. “And I know, bookshop, not really our scene, but Mick. It’s beautiful. Plus it’s indoors. We wouldn’t have to worry about rain or cold or, hell, snow—and you know that’s a possibility around here. The guy’s a friend of Trevor’s, and we could get the space for just a couple hundred more than we were gonna pay for the park space. They do small events there sometimes, so they’ve got plenty of seating that they’ll provide as part of the package. It’s eclectic and there’s incredible woodwork, a fireplace—we wouldn’t have to put in a lot of work to make it look nice because it already does, and—”
Mickey finally cuts Ian off with a little wave of his hand, and he can’t help the loving smile he’s been wearing since the moment Ian started speaking. “All right, Ian. All right. If you wanna check it out, we’ll check it out. Haven’t applied for any of the park permits officially yet, so we’ve got options. If you wanna look into this place, we will.”
Ian beams at Mickey then, and Mickey thinks for a moment that Ian’s going to start crying from joy. As much as Mickey had hoped they were done with the planning, he can’t help but be awed at Ian’s attachment to the idea, and he thinks maybe that’s a good thing. They’d both settled on the park idea for financial and timing reasons, and it would have been beautiful, but Mickey knows neither of them had their hearts set on it. And he’s still a little unsure about the idea, but he knows from the reaction that Ian’s having that he’s probably going to love it just as much as Ian does—even if only because it puts that smile on Ian’s face. And he has a feeling they’re going to be married in an eclectic little bookshop in front of a fireplace instead of in a park pavilion in the cold November air.
“Fi!” Ian calls as he shoves through the door of the Gallagher house, Mickey stumbling along after him, hand firmly held in Ian’s. Once they’re inside, Ian finally lets Mickey go and drags off his coat, tossing it over the back of the couch. “Ceremony update!”
“What?” Fiona questions in confusion as she appears in the doorway of the kitchen, laundry still in hand. “What do you mean ceremony update? Thought we had everything down?”
“Not anymore,” Ian insists. And that should be fucking terrible news, but the thrill of excitement in Ian’s tone leaves Fiona smiling from ear to ear.
“What do you mean not anymore, asshole? We had a plan. What’re we doing to the plan?” Her hands are resting on her hips now, and she’s trying to look perturbed, but the amusement shining in her eyes gives her away.
“New ceremony space!” Ian’s grinning so hard, Mickey thinks his face must be hurting. It’s fucking adorable.
When Ian brushes past Fiona, he catches her wrist and drags her over to the table where he immediately hands over his phone so Fiona can flip through the images of their new venue.
Mickey and Ian had just come from the space where they’d met with Trevor and his friend to look the place over and discuss potential details. The moment they had walked through the door and Mickey had seen the look of awe on Ian’s face, Mickey knew this was where they were going to be married. There was no way he’d be able to deny Ian after seeing his fiancé’s face light with joy just from walking through the fucking door. And Mickey had to admit, the space was nice—cozy and warm with a rustic quiet he wasn’t sure how to even describe, but it was incredible. They’d be paying a little more this way, but work and savings had provided them a cushion and they’d be able to pull it off easily. Plus, they’d be able to ditch some of the annoying decorative bullshit they would have had to put together for the park space, so the money would likely even out anyway.
Fiona and Ian are both fawning over the new space, and Mickey can’t help the amusement he feels at their excitement. After watching them fondly for another moment, Mickey steps up behind Ian with a gentle smile and presses a kiss to the top of Ian’s head. Ian leans back into Mickey for a moment as Mickey ruffles his hair before stepping back to sit beside Ian. As Fiona continues chattering about the new plan, Ian smiles at Mickey gratefully and mouths a quiet thank you. Mickey just smiles at that with a nod and reaches out to take Ian’s hand in his own, entwining their fingers and giving Ian a little squeeze of assurance. Because as much as Mickey hates to admit it, Trevor’d been right on this one—the ceremony space was the last little missing piece; the one thing that didn’t quite fit. But it had all fallen into place with Trevor’s suggestion, and Mickey was grateful for that.
After a bit more back and forth about the plans and what they’re scrapping and what they’re transferring over, they all feel pretty confident that they have a solid plan for how they’ll be using the new space, so they settle into more mundane conversation as Fiona tucks away her wedding notebook and returns to the laundry that had been left half finished with the couple’s arrival.
“So,” Fiona begins with a little eyebrow raise over her shoulder as she shoves another load of laundry into the machine, “I also have news.”
“Really?” Ian questioned with a curious flair, eyeing his sister carefully. “What’s up?”
“I bought an apartment building,” she tells them, eyes beaming. “Most of the units are already rented, but I’ve got a two bedroom that just needs a few basic renovations, plus a one bedroom I just had to kick somebody out of, both of which need renting. You wanna check it out? I know you guys have been looking for a place. Thought maybe you’d want first crack at it? We could go take a look. See what you think.”
“First of all,” Ian says, pushing himself up out of his chair and moving to Fiona’s side to pull her into a hug, “that’s awesome, Fi. Congrats!”
Fiona smiles as Ian pulls back. She’s glad to have their support. She’d been nervous they’d be pissed at her for making such a crazy purchase with so little experience. But Ian’s being genuine, and Mickey’s giving her that soft smile he usually reserves for Ian, and she can tell they’re happy for her.
When Ian steps away a bit, Mickey takes his place, pulling her into a little hug, and she can’t help but smile brightly at the affection.
“You’re getting better at the whole hugging thing,” she teases, squeezing him tight.
“Yeah, well,” he counters, pulling back so he can look her in the eye, “I’m proud of you.”
Fiona’s eyes get a little watery at that. As odd as it seems sometimes, Mickey’s been her biggest support in this whole new journey she’s on, and it means a lot to her to have that support.
“Ah, fuckin’ hell,” Mickey sighs, drawing away and rolling his eyes. “Don’t start crying.”
“Shut up,” she scolds with a laugh, swatting at his chest. “You two fuckers wanna go see this place or what?”
When they make it back to the Gallagher house a couple of hours later, they find Frank camped out on the couch, flipping through the wedding magazine Ian had left behind.
“The fuck you doin’ here, Frank?” Mickey questions in irritation, tossing his jacket over the nearest surface and moving into the kitchen to grab a beer.
“It’s my house,” Frank sneers back, eyes still trained on the magazine in his hands. “Who’s getting married?”
“It’s my house, Frank!” Fiona counters, ignoring his question and making her way up the stairs, leaving Ian and Mickey to deal with an inebriated Frank.
Ian’s standing back near the archway to the front foyer, arms crossed over his chest in irritation, and Mickey emerges from the kitchen, leaning against the doorframe with a bottle dangling from his fingers. They both watch Frank warily as he ambles up from the couch and approaches Ian.
Mickey gives Ian a worried look as Frank approaches, but Ian just shrugs with a little shake of his head. Mickey accepts the confirmation and moves to take up Frank’s vacated spot on the couch, picking up the discarded magazine to distract himself from Frank’s antics, but keeping an ear to the exchange behind him in case Ian needs his support.
Frank notices the exchange between the two, and immediately huffs out a laugh. “You two? Well. Didn’t expect that one. Be an interesting affair, huh? My batshit crazy son and his prison escapee. Looking forward to seeing that one.”
Ian tenses at the implication, and Mickey catches Ian’s eye over the back of the couch. “Who the hell said you were even invited, Frank?” Ian questions, the irritation evident in his voice.
“I’m your father,” Frank insists. “I’m gonna be at your wedding. Even if you are marrying the lowest of the Southside trash.”
“Thanks, Frank,” Mickey shoots over his shoulder sarcastically as he continues to thumb through the magazine in his lap. “Appreciate the vote of confidence.”
“Oh, fuck off,” Frank tosses at Mickey, and Mickey throws him the finger over his shoulder, refusing to spare Frank a glance.
Ian presses his fingers against his temple and sucks in a deep breath before crossing his arms over his chest and refocusing on Frank. “You’re not my father,” Ian reminds him with an angry smirk, “Your brother is, if you remember. And you are not welcome at our wedding. You’ll fuck it up, Frank, and we’ve put too much time into this to let you fuck it up. So how about you get the hell out and move on. You are not invited.”
“You know, I expect this from that ungrateful sister of yours, but—”
“Jesus Christ, Frank. Just fuck off before I make you,” Mickey threatens. He still hasn’t moved from the couch, but he’s watching Frank now, eyes angry and cold.
“Ah, this is all your doing, huh?” Frank accuses. “Turning my son against me—”
“All right,” Ian interjects, grabbing Frank by the elbow roughly and steering him toward the door, “time for you to get the fuck out.”
Ian shoves him through the door and slams it behind him, turning the lock, and shaking his head as he listens to Frank’s insane ramblings from the other side. He catches Mickey’s gaze, eyes tired, and runs his hands through his hair as he moves to his fiancé’s side, sitting beside him and resting his head against Mickey’s shoulder with a sigh. “He’s gonna fuck this up for us,” Ian worries, snuggling closer to Mickey for the support and comfort Mickey’s touch brings.
“He’s not,” Mickey insists, reaching up to stroke Ian’s hair. “I won’t let him, Ian. We are going to have our perfect wedding, and Frank is going to stay the fuck out of it. I will throw his ass back in the river if I have to.”
Ian laughs as he settles into Mickey’s arms. “Thank you, Mick,” Ian murmurs quietly, letting his eyes drift closed and savoring the rare quiet moment with Mickey. Mickey just nods and pulls Ian closer, reaching out for Ian’s hand to entwine their fingers as they drift into a quiet sleep.

Monster Scale
Level 01: Basically Human
Theo is basically a large, muscular human with scars that look like tattoos.
Once a Clecanian finds their fated mate, they get stronger/faster, their eyes can turn black temporarily and they get blue tattoos on their wrists.
They also purr.
