🔪 - What is the strangest horror movie you’ve ever watched?

Oh, jeeeez...I watch so much weird shit (especially horror movies), I'm sure my take on this is very warped. It also very much depends on what exact definition of "Strange" you use.

I'm gonna have to be one of those annoying people who can't give a straight answer and give a few, because they're all strange in their own distinct ways.

Los Parecidos (2015) is a Mexican horror movie about a group of people that get caught in bus station during a hurricane when strange phenomena begin to occur. It's is based around a mystery and some places online seem to straight up spoil it in their description (so be warned), while others leave the mystery intact. I think if you're going to watch it, it's best to know as little as possible, so I won't say any more. But, suffice it to say: it's one of the weirdest reveals you've ever seen.

Monkey Shines (1988) is a movie from George Romero (aka the director of Night of the Living Dead) about a quadriplegic man who winds up getting a lab experiment as a helper monkey. Unfortunately for him the monkey forms a telepathic bond with him, falls in love with him, and then tries to kill anyone who gets between them. So...ummm, yeah, I think the strangeness there speaks for itself.

This one might just be an honorable mention, but Boxing Helena (1993). There's a strong argument to be made that this isn't a horror movie at all, but a thriller. But I also think that the movie goes so far outside the norm that I think you have to put Horror in the conversation again. If you consider Misery (1990) to be Horror, then this has to be considered as well. It's about a man who becomes obsessed with a woman and, uh, how do I put this...he tries to take away her autonomy in order to posses her. When I heard exactly what it was about I thought it was a joke so I looked it up, learned it wasn't a joke, immediately tracked down a copy, then spent the entire movie going, "what the fuck even is this?"

The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) is conceptually strange. First of all it is one of the rare horror movies written and directed by women. You see it was written by noted Mystery novelist and feminist Rita Mae Brown as a satire of the slasher genre, but all her satire went right over the studio's heads and they wanted it as a straight-forward slasher. Enter film editor Amy Holden Jones who wanted to try directing something and used the script to prove her worth. The result is this weirdly interesting concoction where you take a feminist script, translate it into typical genre piece, then direct it from a woman's point of view. I don't know if people who aren't big horror heads will appreciate just how odd this all is for an early 80s movie, but it's such a strange film when you look at it closely.

And then if we're talking truly "WTF even is this?"-level strange, then Mad God (2021), Skinamarink (2022), and Rubber (2010) have got to be up there. Because they're all movies where the creators clearly didn't give any fucks what anyone else thought and just went out there to make some weird shit.

BLOGTOBER 10/18/2023: LINK (1986)

It was very upsetting to me to learn that Richard Franklin's LINK was the first of the killer lab chimp movies from the late '80s. In my mind, it's like, MONKEY SHINES was both novel and really pretty good; SHAKMA was not that good, but it's inoffensive and has a fun premise; and then um...LINK also exists. Even though I watch nonsense like this voraciously, something in me said, "Well, I know about SHAKMA, and that's probably the same as knowing about LINK," and then I just never followed up. Turns out that LINK predated them all, and it is also maddeningly stupid and insane.

I was somewhat relieved to learn that the director started thinking about this 1986 movie in the late '70s as "a sort of JAWS with chimps". It's much easier for me to think of LINK as another JAWS ripoff than it is for me to conceive of it as an original work that inspired the vastly superior MONKEY SHINES (1988) and the dismissable SHAKMA (1990), whose main crime is just being really half-baked. LINK is about how like...so Elizabeth Shue plays a zoology student who asks famous professor Terrance Stamp if she can be his assistant, and he's like "Uh can you cook and clean?" and she pretty much says "Well I'm a woman so duh, yes" and then without any further discussion she moves into his English cottage waaaaaaaaaay the fuck out in the middle of nowhere and just starts cleaning up after him and his dirty, horny, violent chimps. And you're like, doesn't she have class? How can she be literally shoveling shit at this guy's extremely remote house with no car and a phone that barely works? Why didn't she ask this guy what she'd be doing there? Why didn't he TELL her what she'd be doing there? What IS he doing there actually? He's vaguely doing IQ tests on the animals, but he's also just quickly selling them off, like they're all used up already, so...what was the point of this again?

Link himself is an ex-circus monkey whose main thing is lighting fires and smoking cigars, which Elizabeth Shue haughtily objects to--but how can we have an anti-animal abuse statement in a movie where an animal is actively smoking a cigar? At least it feels like pretty much everybody is being abused in this movie, since Mme Shue then has one of the strangest and most unnecessary nude scenes I've ever seen in my life, when Link walks in on her getting ready to take a bath and she just stands about six inches from him letting him ogle and breasts and crotch. And I mean there's no directing this ape, it's pretty much a given that if you stand a naked woman in front of him he's going to stare, and he does, and I really had to wonder if there was any discussion about this scene, if there was any protest, if there wasn't a better way to squeeze nudity into a movie where there's both a boyriend and a dashing older mentor, if it's really absolutely essential for Elizabeth Shue to drop trow and awkwardly stand very close to an ape who she is supposedly unhappy to see, for what feels like a long time.

This is one of those movies in which something ridiculous and confusing happens so frequently that it's really hard to generalize about the experience of watching it. To give you a useful idea of what it's like, I'd have to list almost everything that happens in it, but unfortunately (fortunately?) this has been the speed run season of Blogtober, and that's not in the mail. So I guess I'm going to call it a night on LINK, because I have now seen it once for the first time, once to refresh my memory on what I wanted to say about it, once to torture my unfortunate husband because I didn't want to be alone about it, and...that's more times than I've seen some movies I've really like! So I'll just encourage you to drive your own self crazy with it, and finish up by saying that I found myself wondering which was more uncomfortable for Elizabeth Shue: the apesploitation scene from LINK, or the assault toward the end of LEAVING LAS VEGAS, which I'd imagine the cast and crew at least took seriously? We may never know, but at least now I have an excuse to surface one of my favorite moments from the excellent series High Maintenance. I'm eternally grateful to whoever uploaded this to YouTube, because now I don't have to be the only person in the world walking around singing this song to myself on a regular basis:

I'll just add that while I was scrounging for images for this post, I found this Alamy stock photo from the scene where Elizabeth Shue is rescued by Link from one of the many vicious dogs that surround Terrance Stamp's place. This is such a weird, non-representative still from that movie, but it's kind of cool just because it's such an odd choice. The End!

He will steal your phone to watch the Crab Rave video on your YouTube account

He'll excuse drinking black coffee at 3 am saying he's too sweet so he needs the bitterness for balance

Occasionally, he'll slip some shrooms into the tea

Which will quickly become the highlight of your week

He thinks you don't know he does it

But when you get home, he's super cuddly one second, and the next he'll be on the floor sprawled out, staring at the ceiling

Then he'll sit in front of the fireplace and stare into it for a solid hour

There's no fire

Like he's fucking WILLING the fire into existence

The man just wants his fire

He likes it when you light candles

Because it means he gets to do that thing where he swipes his finger close to the flame to get the little ash mark on it

Floki taught him how to put the candle out with his fingers and he never blows out a candle after that

Speaking of Floki, that's his best friend

They're inseparable

Ragnar really enjoys watching Floki drink from the sink

It's the strangest thing for him, but it's Floki so he's entertained

Most of the time, when Floki comes over, the two just sit upside down on the couch and talk about the first thing that comes to mind

Whether it’s one of Ragnar’s sea monkeys or Floki’s latest project

It’s entertaining to listen to them

Because half of the time, you don’t understand what they’re saying

They speak their native tongue just so you can’t understand what they’re saying

Are they talking about world domination or the anchovies Floki had for breakfast?

You’ll never know

But ignorance is bliss

Ragnar is pretty fucking big

But he can somehow manage to sneak up on you

He doesn’t even mean to do it at first

He just wanted attention!

But as soon as he catches on to how it startles you, he starts doing it on purpose

God forbid the boys are sleeping over

They'll wake up and join in

They'll be pounding on the walls and stomping

And try getting them to settle down

A day in the life ...

They do say better late than never. So here it is, my contribution to the OC exchange, a brief narrative starring Bit Lockhardt, former Green Beret, current babysitter to the Princess. My thanks to Geekogecko for the loan.

A day in the life ...

“The PROBLEM is you told her boxing was the road to ‘the aviation attitude.’” Bit Lockhardt let his annoyance show as Fitz’s smug face grinned back at him through the Skype connection. “Now she’s all obsessed about learning to box.”

“And it is.” Fitz leaned back in what looked like an office chair. Clearly she wasn’t on a mission, her missions didn’t involve clean hotel rooms and Skype. Of course, neither had his. “Nothing like being up close and personal with someone who wants to cause you pain to test your poise under pressure.”

“But she’s the ef —” He bit back the curse, then he remembered who he was talking to “ —fucking Princess. She needs her face unbruised — unbroken. And all of her brain cells healthy.”

“Boxing didn’t hurt my stunning visage.” Fitz drew a circle in the air around her face and then posed with her hands under her chin. Damn woman even batted her eyelashes.

“Because you have those long monkey arms and no good sense anyway.  Arendelle’s what? Tit high on you?”

“At least shoulder.”

“And God help me when Queen Elsa finds out,” Bit moaned.

Fitz expression turned from a smirk to earnest excitement faster than Bit could blink. She even blushed a little. It was an unnerving sight on the cockiest woman — no person — he knew. “Speaking of ….” She started hesitantly.

“No. I am not funneling you any “candid pix” of the Queen of Arendelle for you to decorate your locker with or — or god knows what.”

“I am not that sort of woman,” Fitz sniffed. “Besides it’s better if you get a real person to wear a blonde wig.”

Bit nearly swallowed his tongue. “And now, I can NOT unsee that.”

“Love you like a brother.  And if I had one I might share with him, too.”

“Why do I even answer your calls?” Bit reached his hand toward his touch screen. “Listen, I gotta go. There’s a state dinner tonight. Duty calls.”

“You mean you didn’t wear that tux just for me? Now I’m wounded.”

Bit shook his head. “Goodbye, Fitz.”

“Wait, wait — just, you know, let her uh, Elsa, know I would be happy to give the LT some personal flight training. Training from the best damn helicopter pilot in the whole wide world. She just has to say the word and maybe put in for a TDA request.”

“Hang it up and goodbye, Fitz.” Bit answered.

“Night Stalkers never quit!” Fitz shot back as the screen went black.

Bit chuckled to himself as he closed up his laptop and finished getting dressed. He had learned that once you put on your pants and your jacket sitting was no longer an option, not if you wanted to remain wrinkle free. And he would be damned if he let Revel look more put together than he did. It was a point of pride. He might have the active get-into-trouble-while-running-through-Arendelle’s-countryside Princess while Revel’s job came with permanent air conditioning, but Anna’s “special attache” as they called him, would look just as good as the Queen’s.

This job, special attache, or really babysitter in chief for the Princess of Arendelle, wasn’t the hardest job he’d ever had, if hard meant risk of dying or worse. But it was the strangest and possibly the roughest on his nerves. Kosovo, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, CAR, none of his previous duty stations had held the challenges that came with keeping up with and not losing sight of one short red-headed princess. Plus there were things he would never get used to like the fact that he owned two tuxes now. The suits that he wore every day weren’t bad, like a uniform of sorts.  In fact Anna had laughed when she saw his closet of six identical gray suits each a hand’s width apart from six identical blue shirts. He also had drawers full of blue polos and matching khakis for days when Anna was letting her hair down or just moving at her normal faster than light speed. Fortunately blue socks and well-shined black oxfords went with everything. Well, tonight he had on black socks.

Bit gave himself one last look in the mirror and nodded. He did look good in this suit, though.

His room was on the same hall, almost next to Anna’s, so it was a short walk to knock on her door. He glanced at the expensive gold watch on his wrist, a gift from the Queen and valued at more than his yearly salary, and headed out into the hall to get the Princess going.

This was the reason Elsa had given him the watch, or at least what she told him. Royal protocol required that the Queen be the last to enter any room or gathering so that everyone in attendance could stand and bow if appropriate. Apparently Elsa had gotten very tired of waiting somewhere out of the way but near the engagement she was supposed to be at for her sister. Even now it took Bit’s best efforts to make that wait shorter if not exactly non-existent.

He knocked and immediately one of Anna’s lady’s maids opened the door.

“It’s Sir Edward, Your Highness,” she called back over her shoulder.  The first time someone had called him “Sir Edward” he had spent a good five minutes looking around to see who that was. “What shall I tell him?”

“Tell him to get his butt in here and help!” Anna sounded frazzled and distracted even for Anna.

“Your Highness, it’s ti …..” Bit stopped mid sentence as he took in the sight before him. Anna wasn’t fully dressed, in fact she hadn’t even put on her dress yet. He knew that because one maid was holding it out for her. Another maid was rummaging through Anna’s closet, at least that’s what he thought was happening. Anna’s closet looked like someone had taken a store full of dresses and stuffed them all in at once. One pair of sensible shoes and one pair of stocking feet protruded from under the bed.

“Hey, Sergeant!” Anna’s voiced called out. Then there was an audible clunk and the bed jerked upward. “Ow! Shit! Fuck!”

“Your Highness,” one maid answered, “Language.”

The one in the closet added, “Your hair, watch your hair. Please.”

Anna shimmied out from under the bed holding her head. She was in a variety of constraining undergarments and a slip. She thrust the top of her head toward Bit. “It’s not bleeding is it? Tell me it’s not bleeding.”

“It’s not bleeding, Your Highness.” Bit was torn between laughter and tears. Elsa was no doubt already downstairs waiting.

“Oh, stop. Everyone calls me that here.”

“It’s still not bleeding, LT.”

“Better.” Anna whirled around and helped up the maid who had just emerged from under her bed. “Listen.  I don’t know where I left them, and we can’t find them, but Elsa has a great pair of green heels, and I know she’s not wearing them tonight. Go run down and ask her if I can borrow them, please.”

“Um, I don’t think she’s …” the maid looked to Lockhardt for help.

“The Queen is not going to be in her room.” He pointed at the time on his watch.

“It’s that late, oh shit, shit, shit!”

“Language.”

“Put your arms up, and we can put on this dress.”

Anna came to a decision and put her arms up. “OK, run down and get them.”

“Your Highness?”

“What? It’s not like she needs them now. I need them now. This is about the greater need. And besides if she tries to execute you for stealing from the crown, I’ll pardon you or something. Just go. Go. Go. Please.”

“I’ll go.” Bit was more than willing to risk execution, or more likely the Queen’s frosty ire, to get his charge down where she needed to be sometime before midnight.

Elsa’s suite wasn’t much farther away from her sister’s than his own, and he moved briskly. He knocked on the outer door. When no one answered, he opened it and walked through the sitting room to the door to Elsa’s bedroom. He knocked again. He was just opening it when he felt the temperature drop. He turned smoothly and gave a short neck bow.

“She’s not ready is she?”  Elsa was smiling, but she was also throttling the itinerary she had in her hand like she was wringing a chicken’s neck. Except Lockhardt figured she wasn’t thinking of a chicken.

“No, ma’am.” He took a breath. “And she was hoping to borrow your green heels.”

“Again!”

“It’s probably not completely necessary.” Bit answered deadpan. “I did see her combat boots near the door, ma’am.”

“Right.” Then Elsa laughed. Bit never did see why people found the Queen so intimidating, but he did love to hear her laugh. “Fine.” She turned to her maid. “Third pair on the left on the second shelf.”

As Bit carried the petite heels back to the Princess’s room, he thought again. Definitely the strangest job he had ever had.

Twilight Princess - Surprise Part Two

Session Two - May 30th, 2018

Lakebed Temple, Master Sword, Gerudo Desert, Arbiter’s Grounds, and Snowpeak Ruins.

All cozy on a chair in the living room, let’s begin where Link has been left at, the bottom of Lakebed Temple; the third dungeon and the one I fucking hate the most due to really shitty controls when in the water with the Zora Armor; thanks a lot partly inverted controls. I try really hard to not wear the Zora Armor in this dungeon, mainly because there is no point for it until like the boss fight and like as your getting boss key. Other then that, it’s pointless, and Link’s regular tunic does better at protecting him then the armor. My suggestion is really only to wear the armor when you truly need it, even if you think Link looks cool, it’s terrible and you’ll eat through hearts like crazy, maybe even a few games over’s.

Another thing about this dungeon; there’s a lot of running back and forth, also all the falling if Link doesn’t grab the lever to turn the stairs. It’s time-consuming, and you get really turned around if you don’t pay attention. It’s too much after such simple dungeons, with a very straightforward layout. I think the only thing that was good about the Lakebed Temple is the design of it, the color palette suited the place. Some of the enemies seemed out of place due to their color design but it was perfect. And the puzzles could be too if there was more of them. The mini-boss fight was simple, made getting the Claw Shot worth it, but did nothing to help with getting the boss key, which was like fifteen minutes to get due to finding the right rock to blow up and not touch the jellyfish or get eaten by monstrous clams. That was when I was seriously finished with this dungeon due to its bullshit controls.

Thankfully, it was a straight shot to the boss room, where you think you might be fighting a jellyfish with an eye, but you get Morpheel; a giant lobster, eel which is easy to fight once you’re past the first stage. With final the Fused Shadows, Midna and Link head back to the Lanayru Spring… Only for Zant to show up, be a real prick by trying to kill Midna. You almost think you need to fucking do the Tears of Light again, but nope, just need to rush off to Hyrule Castle, and get to Zelda, while making sure Link doesn’t die due to shitty controls. Managing to get to Zelda with a few minor scares, Midna decides to give her dying wishes. The scene really drags out, losing whatever feeling it was going for, right up until Zelda magically disappearing to save Midna. The only thing you get out of that entire scene was Link needs to get the Master Sword to break the damn curse on him. The strangest thing out of that though is Midna’s personality did a 180, but near deaths like that can do that, and the revenge for Zelda. With that junk out of the way; pretty much just warp to the Forest Temple where you run into Flower Monkey, who is being chased by fucking puppets that could actually haunt my nightmares. So, as Link, you head over and behold the person you find is none other than Skull Kid. Not sure if this is Skull Kid from the previous games, but it is Skull Kid who fucks with you. All the player can do is follow the brat around. What makes it so interesting is the fact that they bring the mechanic from Ocarina of Time to listen to how loud the music is by each path. Though Skull Kid kind of acts like a boss in the way, but more of a puzzle and a key to the Master Sword. He’s easy, and makes the transition into the second half of the game smooth, along with the nostalgia boost of Skull Kid. Now actually in the Sacred Grove, you got to howl to awaken the two Guardian Statues; they look more organic than anything else in this game. Well, awakening these guys causes a puzzle.

This puzzle has Link in the middle of floating blocks, two of which are special, where you need to place the Guardian Statues, who are position at either end of the heart-shaped grid. I cheated and used a walkthrough for this part, considering it’s just a mess to figure it out on one's own and you can literally be doing it for three hours if you aren’t careful or tactful. With that mess out of the way, Link heads inside to retrieve the Master Sword, which literally could have been gotten at the beginning of the damn game. Now with the sword in hand, Link has the ability to change between "Beast” Wolf and human. At this point, you can do some serious running around if the player wishes to do so, if you think you're ready, then head to Telma’s bar where you meet these people that she mentioned before in Kakariko; There is Shad, Ashei and to everyone’s surprise; Rusl, Colin’s father. There’s another in Lake Hylia who head off to meet. Forgetting to mention before, Midna asks Link to help her find the Mirror of Twilight, the only way now to get to Zant. On this tower at Lake Hylia, you meet Auru, who tells you that he has a feeling that all the bad things that are currently happening in Hyrule are coming from Gerudo Desert; which holds a prison, which held the worst kinds of criminals. With a letter from Auru, Link goes down Fyer; who runs this canon to go back up to the Great Bridge of Hylia, but with Auru’s letter, Fyer sends Link to Gerudo Desert. Here, you can get the piece of Eldin Bridge that went missing back into place before heading back towards the prison. Before you can get in though, you need to deal with a Bulbin encampment. Either you can try to stealth it or can just go ham; normally I just stealth it because the Bow and Arrow is my jam, yet this time I bring pain and carnage. Get a key, open the gate to ride a hog, only to need to beat the shit out of big daddy Bulbin for a third time, because not getting knocked off a damn bridge, twice, isn’t enough. Jumping on the hog after the Bulbin decides to burn Link alive. Break gates and Link is at the entrance of the prison; Arbiter’s Grounds.

This is where my favorite dungeon comes in. Though Arbiter’s Grounds is my number one favorite out of this entire game, mainly due to the fact that it brings the “Beast” Wolf factor into these next few dungeons, making it an interesting component by adding it in now though it would have been better if it was brought into the game sooner than pass halfway through the game. Now, introducing this component, you have to steal back the flame to get into the main part of Arbiter’s Grounds. This takes some running around, but it can be done pretty quickly if you stay in beast mode for the majority of this part. A good tip for this dungeon is spending most of your time as a Wolf because Link doesn't sink into the sand as quickly. But getting to beat up huge Poes is really fun, kind of wish the other Poes were like this rather than their really childish imp design. Once done with this, you pretty much go to the mini-boss; which is the only fight you really get to do as a Wolf. The wonderful item you are gifted with is the Spinner, which takes you; the player, straight to the boss key and to the boss. All Link has to do is hit Stallord with the Spinner. The battle is pretty quick and fun. The cutscene after the fight with the Sages is really interesting due to the fact that the designs for them are different but very fitting for the design of the game. We also get the first look at Ganondorf; and the Sages somehow didn’t realize that Ganondorf had the Triforce of Power, also the fact that Zant broke the Mirror of Twilight, meaning Link and Midna need to run around Hyrule once again to get the three missing pieces. With this new information, head back to Zora’s Domain.

Link learns that there has been a monster going to the Domain rather a lot lately. Yet it always heads to Snowpeak with a Reekfish. If you go to the first bit of Snowpeak, Link runs into Ashei, who gives him her notes about the monster. Show some of the Zora’s the notes, then they point the player to Kakariko Village, where Prince Ralis is currently. The only person who knows how to catch Reekfish. Use Midna to warp to the Village.

Link finds Prince Ralis at the Zora’s Bartual Site, where Link got the Zora Armor. Show him the notes, and Ralis will give his earring to use as a hook. Return to Zora’s Domain and start fishing, which might take a bit due to the fact that fishing is an interesting pastime in this game. Just hold your arm really high up in the air. Once you catch a Reekfish, it’ll land on the floor, change into Wolf Link to learn the scent of the Reekfish. Follow the scent through the Domain and head to Snowpeak. With the scent Link will see a huge beast, triggering a small cutscene with Yeto, a very kind Yeti that invites you over. The best part of trying to get to the Snowpeak Ruins, you snowboard on ice. Adds just a nice little bit of fun from the questing. Yeto brings Link in to meet his wife; Yeta. Who hasn’t been feeling well lately due to a mirror that Yeto brought home for his darling Yeta. So, Yeto locked the mirror piece in their bedroom. Yeta goes out of her way to try and remember where the key was placed while Yeto cooks.  

With Yeta trying to remember where the key is, Link ends up running around the ruins looking for this key, Link ends up with food items instead. His first food item ends up being an Ordon Pumpkin, you have to pass Yeto to get back to Yeta, and he smells it, shoving Link rather brutally to get it. Now, the soup is a little stronger, so Link can fill his bottles and gain more hearts from it. I’m kind of surprised that Link doesn’t lose hearts when Yeto shoves him, it would have been entertaining. Now, Link will travel around the ruins once more, gaining a rather slow, yet powerful weapon; the Ball and Chain. Like you can react quickly with it, but it’s kind of slow, especially when you need to defend yourself or move out of the way. After requiring this item from the mini-boss, behold, Link finds Ordon Goat Cheese. Bring that back to Yeto, once again shoved, with a stronger soup. On Link’s third attempt to get the bedroom key, Link actually finds it, after some really bullshit puzzles that make you want to pull your hair out or snap the game’s disk in half over your knee.

Returning to Yeta with the key in hand, she’s suddenly feeling a lot better and offers to take Link to the bedroom. The quickest way to deal with this is just to rush on ahead, and let Link chill at the door to wait on Yeta. Good time to go to the bathroom or anything else. Make sure that Link has full hearts, and your battles are filling with Yeto’s soup or have a couple of fairies on hand because this boss fight is actually pretty hard. Once in the bedroom, Yeta is looking into the mirror, admiring herself. And this is where shit gets really fucking creepy. Yeta gets all fucking Exorcist in the cutscene that makes this entire thing part just a fucking horror movie. Yeta transforms into Twilit Ice Mass: Blizzeta. Like mentioned before this boss fight is kind of hard due to the fact that Link must use the Ball and Chain for the entire battle, which is powerful, but since it’s slow on the return once thrown. So, timing is key and you gotta work quickly. When this battle is over Yeto comes rushing in, knocking Link out of the way to be really mushy with Yeta.

A perfect way to stop for the night, seeing as I knew that shit was about to come at me within the next couple of hours for the next day. I kind of needed to be mentally prepared or I would fucking scream all the curse words that I could think of.

Ever had a friend online for a long time without seeing a photo of them? Well yeah. Most of my friends are online, and while I've seen pictures of most at least once or twice, some I still haven't. The last time you threw up, what caused it? It was a side effect of a mood stabilizer I started. Any foods from other countries you would like to try but haven’t yet? I'm sure there's something, idk. Do you think the world would be more peaceful without any religion? Yes. Have you ever had a stalker? No. Does it hurt your feelings when people talk shit about things you love? It makes me self-conscious way more than anything. I start to obsess over whether or not the person things poorly or weirdly of me for liking what I like. They always find some shit to complain about. Then Silent Hill... ugh. I think people just hop onto the "the series sux after 1-4" bandwagon to fit in with a certain crowd, but that's not the main thing that annoys me; rather, it's the fact the former main admin of the SH wiki made a fucking joke out of us there. He was clearly having personal issues and made a HUGE and utterly ridiculous deal of Silent Hill 4 having heavy symbolism to the main character being obsessed with the bullshit idea of him being circumcised, and it led to a maaaassive thread of us members trying to talk some damn sense into him as he abused his power. He was finally banned by the Wikia staff, but not in time for some gaming websites to publish "news" stories about it because it was just that ludicrous. Now, YEARS later, we still get trolls coming onto the site to try and revive the drama by inserting absolute rubbish into pages or making new ones. Nowadays I'm the main administrator there, and it's fucking embarrassing sometimes. I'm supposed to keep the wiki under control and respected, you know? Ugh, I'll stop. I could rant for a very long time about this. Do you prefer ruffly or regular potato chips? Ruffly. Do you write down your own recipes, or just commit them to memory? I don’t cook.
