i do think it's funny how many people in the lisa fandom seemed to go "oh nern is one of the oldest party members," because it's something i've seen sort of consistently. i know he had a wife (god rest her soul) and they seem to have been married a while, so he had to have been an adult long before the flash, but he's not the only one who was married-- the DE even implies that olan's children reached adulthood pre-flash so there's a strong possibility olan is meant to be older than nern but everyone just assigned nern as the group's resident Old Man

#also olan dropping that his girls lived long enough to have careers like shook me to my core #i konw that's silly but genuinely. i was imagining olan as late forties/early fifties in canon #but even if he was a super young parent-- like 19 or so-- that's not possible #like his kids reach what... 25? 20 at the LEAST #because both girls are descibed as 'making a living' so they probably made it to their twenties! then you add at least 13 or so years AFTER #for time-post flash.... than man is in his mid-late fifties at the very very least #and good for him! just not the vibe i got #i always imagined olan as the youngest of the dad crew but he's the only one whose children reached adulthood pre-flash #(well maybe mad dog's did but we have no way of knowing)#but honestly now i'm thinking olan is meant to be older than birdie which doesn't... feel right to me but w/e #also to be clear i also clocked nern as Resident Old Man it's just funny jhsadghj
