Hey to all artists! I want to talk about our art journey. Some of us have a long path, some have started only recently, but each of us has had our own individual path and I think it's really important to remember how we all started. And it's also important to share it with others so that no one would be scared to start their own journey and just create.

How did you start drawing? What year was it that you become more seriously and consciously interested in it?

As everyone I'll say I've been drawing since early childhood, but I think the end of 2019 is my beginning. Because that's the time I started to practice actively.

When you felt the urge to share your art with other people? When did you start posting your drawings on social media?

Maybe it's always been? I think for the first time I posted something traditional drawn on my personal social media. I started my art socials in 2020.

Your first/earliest drawing. What were your impressions of it back then and what are your feelings now?

It's hard to track my very first drawing, but here are the early traditional drawings and my very first digital hand drawing. It was before I got a tablet, so it was drawn with a mouse. My impressions? My hand was tired... But if seriously back then it looked like something cool to me and I was surprised that I could draw something like that. Now, of course, I can see all my mistakes. But let's be honest, any mistake is a move forward.

But what if I told you that my sister asked me to draw Cameron Monaghan… Who knew that ten years later I'd be drawing him once again...

When you had bad days and things didn't work out, what inspired you to keep trying?

I just need to rest, try again, or think about what exactly goes wrong. When I started my path as a digital artist I was very inspired by the older work by 'big artists'. No one is perfect at the first moment and there is always a long road of striving and practice behind cool works. And I knew that the more I tried, the more I could consider myself 'cool' too. (spoiler: that feeling is still with me)

Show your old piece that you strongly dislike and tell why.

It's a hard choice. I stopped liking a lot of my work after a time, but this one was initially a struggle. I really didn't like how it looked in the end. I wasn't able to draw it as I wanted, and had problems with the face and dynamics. But the background is cool! (A lot of the work you don't like has some good in it!)

I love the shading and the face, especially eyes. And i still love this drawing! Face looks better than previous and hair has a dynamic, and the expression is really good.

I just want to say that four years ago I would've been shocked by my current drawings. I've really improved in drawing faces and anatomy, I'm trying new interesting composition, trying to learn new things and use it in my works.

Any advice you'd give to your earlier self?

Do more thinking while creating your art. Do a sketches warm-ups before digging into the big work. Don't be afraid to draw it again if something doesn't work. Take breaks to physically exercise!

Set a goal for yourself for the coming year.

I want to improve facial expressions. Make a professional portfolio. Keep growing and enjoying drawing.

And as someone who works at WarnerBrother Media anytime I get a promotion or something good happens at work I’ll usually draw the Warners cheering with me or being cocky.

I have a terrible sleep schedule and on occasion to help me sleep I’ll search up obscure information, one night in particular I wanted to know their ages. They are much older than anyone originally anticipated!! To be more specific Yakko and Wakko were confirmed to be 29 in 2019! Which makes them 33! Dot on the other hand is about 12!! Isn’t that so cool?

They’d be college graduates (except for dot who would still be in middle school or at least her last year. Although take this with a grain of salt since her wiki hasn’t been updated in much longer than the 2 brothers)

I headcanon her being older though probably in late High school or about freshmen year of college age? Maybe sophomore year? 16-19 to be more specific! For why Dot calls them “kid”, “Dot being close with Fannie Brice- which is likely where she picked up her habit of calling everyone "kid."” Which was stated in the Fandom Wiki under “Creation to Tower”.

They’re ages are a bit hard to place a finger on though, even though these are the confirmed ages by the voice actor of Wakko Warner and Warner Media on occasion they will be referred to a children and were also canonically 13, 13, and 4-5 when they were first made in 1929 on February 30th at 2:43 AM. That would make them logically speaking 94. On the other hand they were still those ages when the show ended and they were locked up. Then were “50 years older” in the reboot. Although it seems time stopped for them or they were locked away from the world.

They would 94, 94, and like 87.

Or 33, 33, and 12.

Or 63, 63 and 56.

Slightly eldritch Link and Zelda post-totk? Like what effects does draconification have on Zelda when she returns and what effects does link have from the zonai arm?

Could be physical, could be mental, maybe both?

Slightly eldritch, you say? WELL...

I don't have a lot for a Post-TotK Zelda... Maybe some leftover scales on parts of her body but that's as far as I can think of.

But for Link, I have PLENTY.

Especially for a Post-TotK LU Wild.

This is gonna be a very long post so please bear with me on this one.

Many of the Post-TotK Wild headcanons I had were made from 2019 onwards, after the BotW2 announcement trailer. And then started to evolve and become more eldritch during the 4 year long waiting and from the breadcrumbs of info the Zelda dev team dropped prior to 2023 release.

(Most of these Post-TotK Wild headcanon have now since been debunked with the official TotK game lore. But I like to come back to them and they are being repurposed in some way with the new official TotK context).

Many of these headcanons were about Wild's creepy glowing green hand. Especially as prior to the game's release, it was never revealed who was the hand's original owner. So I had a dark theory that the Glowing Green Hand was originally the Ancient Hero's and their Hero's Spirit was used as the "Seal" on Ganondorf's corpse. Thus halting the Reincarnation Cycle and why there's a massive 10K year gap between the Ancient Hero of 10K and the Hero of the Wild's incarnations. (This is no longer the case, of course but I sometimes think about it).

So anyway, as for what effects the Zonai Arm may had left behind on Link.

Officially, I had an idea that the Recall ability had enhanced Link's Flurry Rush ability. Particularly the "freeze" game mechanic when Recall is activated, which allowed Link to quickly observe what's in front of him in a split second in real time. And also makes it easier for him to trigger his Flurry Rush when on the ground.

So...basically his time perspective and trigger instincts for his Flurry Rush ability have improved. Especially as I have a headcanon that Link's Flurry Rush is his Champion Ability in BotW.

As for Pre-Totk release / "if Link kept the Zonai Arm abilities" headcanons, I have a couple of ideas that I did experimented with. Especially with the LU Boys.

At the time, I had Post-TotK Wild to not only being older but is also rather cryptic about his TotK adventure with the reasoning that its still too raw for him to tell the rest about what happened (Especially as there was so little info about what happened at the time, other than "a sequel is in development" and "Link gets a glowing arm").

Of course, this has now changed and I am still thinking about what new experiences and abilities from TotK would Wild bring to the LU Family. Though the one definite change from the original Post-TotK headcanon is that... Wild is now 7 years older than he was in BotW. So he's now 125 years old.

Before the Zonai Arm's Abilities were revealed, I had an idea that the Glowing Arm had three abilities - dubbed "Farore's Blessings" - Wrath (rage/survival power up), Breath (ability to see spirits/soul leaking) and Spirits (animal spirits and where the Farore's Spirits originated from).

Some of these ideas may be repurposed with the official TotK ideas.

I have also done a handful of stories that explores the Farore's Blessing abilities with the LU family in the past. Including Puppet Twilight AND Fierce Deity. Especially the Fierce Deity one which was originally an early live writing story that I spotenously created in the LU main server back in 2019.

This drawing was from years agooooo maybe it was from 2019 but I'm not sure. Anyways, two things I have to say, I need to finish projects and I'm really stress about college now, I want to be in vacation already. Ugh! Anyhow, that's how Misao used to look like, her first draft.

Now I changed into a better look, the drawing looks more dynamic, I wanted to show them friends because that's how it always goes them just talking and then probably getting into fights, I like to think Misao and Bakugou have this enemies to frienemies to lovers trope. Kind...of? There just discussing I want to redraw a lot of old drawings actually.

Improvement? Anyways gotta finish some projects...I don't wanna do them. I hate 3D class. Also this was a clip studio paint file and I finished it using Ibis Paint x! IT WOOOORKS I CAN TRANSFER SOME OF MY FILES THEEERE although the animated ones are not the case.

Re-drew the God of Thunder's most autistic soldier

Older designs (2019 and 2020) and extra design info/process after the cut

2019 (Left) and 2020 (Right) redraws of Caleb. I didn't want to redesign him, more just redraw his design with my current skills. His design is *really* old and would benefit from an overall update, but I wanted to keep him the same overall and just tweak a couple things.

My main reference was the 2019 design, I wanted to keep the same pose and scars (that I didnt add in 2020.. for some reasons) The golden bracelets and choker give him this whole "holy but wild-esque" warrior vibe, but they needed to look more weathered and a bit rusted so it would fit better (He is not royalty or something like that). I changed the green hue of his weapon from the end to the blade, so it looks more like a magical, albeit simple, halberd. I fixed his clothes' design so it would make more sense for his body and tail; and the scale's pattern now looks way better and look like scales and not.. Patches?

Last but not least, I knew I wanted him to have a slightly different anatomy. He NEEDS to be strong, but specially the oldest drawing, he is too defined and.. weird. Caleb is not a bodybuilder, and he is still fairly young, so I went for a slightly less defined (albeit still REALLY athletic) build that looks more realistic. His main rival, Rey, is a straight up bodybuilder, so that would also help with a contrast between the two

If I were to rework him, not just a redraw, I would lean more into the Champion/Herald vibe. More scars, or at least give them more importance (I didnt want to clutter the design too much here), remove the gold and change it to a brass or oxidized steel if I were to add him any armor at all, and removing completely the golden details on the clothes. Maybe in the future tho!

Daily Dragon #98 - Sphinx

These draconic cats are notorious tricksters. Using illusions to confuse their prey, allowing them to toy with it before devouring them victim and their soul. They're easily distracted by offerings though.

There have been 2 dog dragons so far (3 if you count yesterday's) but no cats yet! Figured I should correct this for all the cat fans in the audience

Daily Dragon #99 - Eclipse Dragon

Also known as the Archiumbral Dragon. The amount of glow it has signifies how powerful it has become. When defeated, all the light becomes a pitch black, and the dragon withers away.

This is a redraw of this fella from 2019 :) Back then I was trying to make a different dragon every month. It was kind of like the precursor to the Daily Dragon challenge lol

Daily Dragon #100 - Greedylyn

The Midas Moth, it flies around in space looking for meteors and planets with gold on it to power its special ability. Greedylyn can create and shed off a golden skin, which it can then control as its whole unique entity!

A mean tomboy dragon who wants to appear much much cooler than she actually is. She tries to act like she doesn't care about anything but really cares a lot about many things like nature and doodling

Daily Dragon #103 - Stressaur

This poor little dragon gets INCREDIBLY stressed out very easily. As its stress rises, so does its headache. Once the headache becomes absolutely unbearable, they unleash a powerful force blast from their head. At max power, it's devastating.

Daily Dragon #104 - Cobradon

These large serpentine dragons are incredibly quick and deadly. They can easily twist around with their surprisingly limber bodies to bite and attack prey when they least expect it

Flash is wearing stick-on earrings in the new version XD cause I thought it would be cute :3c

gotta match their looks to each other... well really the purple lipstick is the only thing peter's wearing that matches flash's look but eh.

Peter's lipstick is actually MJ's doing because in 2019 when I drew the original I wrote a fic to sort of accompany it (though not 100%) which you can of course read on AO3 (here)

But I do think that in ASM622 he should have been wearing black lipstick or something cause the red eyeshadow was just not goth enough on its own XD COWARD jk jk he was still hot even w/o lipstick

Similar to the original here but I added a black X (for no drinking) because of a scene I included in aforementioned fic and I think it made a nice detail. I also took Flash's leggings off and got Peter's hand on Flash's ass instead... I guess Flash should probably have leg hair but I didn't draw it for whatever reason. Maybe he just wants to be smooooth for the party.

This is the original! Wow big fucking difference in three and a half years LOL Though I did use the original partly as an undersketch for the actual sketch cause there were some parts i was like, sure that's fine. As you can see Flash's hair is straighter here and also he had one of those tattoo chokers on his bicep but I decided to forego that in the new version. Also in this drawing (and in the fic) I gave Peter ripped up skinny jeans but I felt like drawing the leather pants inspired by ASM622 instead for the redraw. And changed his t-shirt slightly as well. Other than that and a minor tweak for flash's shorts and leggings it's pretty similar.

looking through my old art is really something, like i totally know that that was my art.

But i sincerely look at how i drew Yosuke then and then i look at how i draw yosuke now and i think "What in the ever loving hell happened here to get to this point???"

I'm going through them and i notice a trend of drawing him w a cocky attitude and smile, while nowadays when i draw him he is just smiling with like, happiness, and or he's being being awkward.

I think it's a bit fun to see that my expression game has improved. (maybe my view of him has also changed)

hi you can ignore this sdmgsmd, i'm having Thoughts about my own recent comic and the two versions I drew back in 2019 & 2020.

i will... put the readmore for further thoughts on my old thoughts and current thoughts when i drew these!

heres the comparison between three-

2019, 2020, and 2023 in the order. The idea remains the same since i imagined anita literally do That everytime i re-read that scene (it is one of my favourites.)

and now thinking about the way i had changed how i genuinely viewed their relationship. putting readmore msdgmsd from here on!

2019 - this was when i was fairly new to FHR irrc.

Ortega's expression was... more happier? I honestly don't know why I drew that- maybe it was because I imagined she was happy to see someone she never expected to see?

And Anita's? I think this was also when I still made them a 100% soft step, so Anita there being all smiling? It's them pretending to be surprise to see her, but it blurred into a genuine surprise to actually See her in flesh.

2020 - Now! this is just me redrawing it for fun and also learning Ortega had wore a white suit so I drew that.

Now, Anita is less happy and more shocked and confused to how she shows up. Just confused. Had finally broke the hidden rule for themself, 'avoid Ortega at all cost' - failed.

2023 - Annnnd three years later, I finally redraw it because I still love this comic- it was one of the early comics I made and I still like drawing Anita with that kind of shock- but this time.

Ortega is now how I actually imagined she must had feel. Seeing a ghost alive, existing, and..... here. Truly here. Which is why she's just "how are you here? You died years ago. how? why? when?"

And Anita's? They're horrified. They're horrified that the one person they had tried their best to avoid because they don't need one more attachment and it was in the form of a former best friend, a secret crush, and someone who used to believe in you.

Horrified, confused, and annoyed that she found you so soon. This wasn't in their plans, and now they could feel a wrench had finally throw into the cogs in their mind and they hated it.

Hi there, I uploaded a lot of comics tonight so I thought I'd just give some info on things no one care about!

So I'm trying to get my eggs in order lately. My therapy comics had kinda been a big practice into being better towards my page layouts in general while also just trying to emotionally vomit hard shite. Admittedly they are also in part just to have a comic portfolio of some sort for event marketing. Tonight was mostly part 1 of working to empty out my backlog but I still have a few left. First what's actually been on the back burner; two 8+ pagers that are kinda foundational to all these since one is a redraw of essentially the first therapy comic and the other was a metaphorical peeling back of the layers of the stages of my mental illness journey to find the start of it. It would've only been those two but tonight I ended up sketching two more 1 pagers, a two pager from when a glass ceiling lamp smashed on my head, and a four pager.

In general my work is in a weird transition, my autobio comics are skewing slightly towards more queer stories and I'm debating taking up another slightly longer project later this year about how even realizing I was gay at 19 felt kinda behind everyone else. There's also been a semi joke story Top Quest which I don't know if I even have the balls to properly work on it. Outside of that my hope is to move onto more fictive stories properly.

Do You Need Love? Is my oneshot I came up with in 2019 thats taken me an ass load of time mostly because I struggle to design the MC fully. The concept is a new customer to a coin op professional cuddling booth; philosophical debate ensues!

Her Tanlines Catch My Eye was supposed to be an even easier one shot because it was August last year and I was gay but my understanding of CSP slowed me down a little on it. It remains to be seen if I'll pick it up again.

'Middle School Zine' is a little bit of a hybrid of a story from each year of being in middle school as a weeb mixed with the 'Naruto Doujinshi' I tried to make in the 8th grade story (it's peak cringe and pick me at points despite being a whole 6 pages).

And then finally is the actual big project I've been sitting on waaaaay too long.

Natural Disaster's Agape was something that's really been sitting around for a while. It's the story of what if someone gave into making every wrong impulsive decision. Gale is a dumb angry lesbian with too much baggage that she doesn't deal with. Her only experience with therapy was being forcibly hospitalized, she self medicates on her friend's meds and drugs, and she causes a lot of unneeded fights. Its hard to sell it beyond that without giving away much more than she gets a girlfriend and they are the worst uhauling, shameless pda ing, couple anyone has ever seen but I can say I'm going for the feeling of a Greek tragedy. NDA has been roughly 40-50% outlined but also always struggled at the character design phase which isn't helped by the fact I keep putting it off for "when I finish all my other shorter projects" which never happens.

As it is, currently it's "a bunch of time sensitive for max effectiveness" charm season that will likely come first but my hopes are that maybe I can finish DYNL in time for Valentine's Day (even though it isn't a love story), maybe try to get the middle school zine done in April and then try to make room to give my attention to NDA the rest of the year (alongside the soul eater plushies which probably mostly just need production back and forth and campaigning to raise the money).

(Note: this is a reupload of a thread i did on twitter a few years back. so these are really old.)

Since the decade of 2010 is almost over, I decided to make a thread of my best drawings from 2019! (Yes, 2019. I didn’t like the others, sooooo...)

January! I still lined my drawings with a pen back then... I would’ve lined my drawings now, but I’m now way too used at not lining XD The character I drew was a Pokémon FC called Sam, and was originally going to be one of the protagonists of an unmade comic.

February! I stopped lining my drawings starting from this one! Let’s just say I didn’t feel like erasing the lines that day. The character I drew here belongs to Sashley on YouTube! I remember being super proud of the fanart I made. I find it terrible TBH. [2023 note: wow, that's a name i haven't thought of in a while. does she still make animation memes? wait, she does still make animation memes.]

March! Nothing much to say, as nothing interesting happened that month. I remember being extremely busy with drawing someone’s OC for payment on DeviantArt though. This is one of the payments I drew! Still quite messy, even if it’s relevantly cleaner than the Sashley fanart.

April! This is where my coloring FINALLY starts looking better (If you just looked at one of my pre-May arts, you might see it) This character is actually a whale version of my OC, Yevi-Wii! Or maybe she’s a FC? I don’t know! I kinda want to redraw her soon. [2023 note: i never drew her ever again]

May! AKA my birth month! I drew a lot of my Deltarune AU characters on that month. This is one of the AU characters! He’s just a younger version of canon Seam. I should draw young Seam again.

June! I drew Ralsei a lot for some reason. I don’t think I knew how to draw goat bois back then. Not that I know how to now. This is one of the many Ralsei’s I drew! I, uh... don’t like it as much as I did then.

July! This is one of my top 3 favorites of 2019! The character here is Jevil! I used to like Jevil a lot. I like him now, just not as much as back then. I honestly like how happy he looks.

August! As I had just came back from America, my drawings were looking rusty. Thankfully, I managed to warm myself back. This is smol Muffet. She is very very smol. I now realize that I drew tons of child versions of Deltarune/Undertale characters.

September! As it was the month of Undertale’s anniversary, I drew something Undertale related! Yes, this is an Undertale character. I honestly cannot get enough of Undertale. Play Undertale. Praise Undertale. And don’t forget to pat the dog.

October! A month after that, is Deltarune’s anniversary! I drew Kris for this, as Kris is... very intriguing to me. I am rather proud of this one! I also love how it was captured by my phone too, as most of the time the drawing looks super crappy when taken picture.

November! Unfortunately, art block happened that month, so I couldn’t get anything properly done that month. So have a scribble of my BNHA OC, made on November.

December! The reason I have two here is because I couldn’t decide which one to choose! I modeled the clay figure after my camp friend J chan, who loved Todoroki! As for the drawing, it’s my OC Jei. He was originally an adopt I made, but I loved him so much so now he’s my son. [2023 note: i lost contact with J chan around 2020, when she deactivated her discord. that was my only form of contact with her so i basically lost her for good... though, i never talked to her much outside of camp after getting her discord so it was probably for the best. playground friends stay as playground memories, yaknow.]
