the problem with it (and mass effect, but i pretend ME doesn't exists) is that the writers for the games are all white and try to make then as centrist as possible. You got the mages, ppl who have to learn from a young age that if theyre ever are careless with their abilities, theyll be possessed by a demon and kill everyone around them unt theyre killed. Theyre taken from their houses at a young age to live in prisons, told theyre never to interact with anyone till theyre adults (and even then, theyre still not seem as people). Anyone who ever tries acting out is killed.

You also got the templars, the ppl who are trained by the chantry to use anti-mage magic (yeah, theyre all hypocrites, thats the point), and they try showing that both sides are bad by... showing that templars need to use the magic drug to use magic (despite not being mages), and get addicted to it?

Where the hell is that comparable? The worst thing a mage can do is use blood magic, but even then, it doesn't mean they will get possessed. The templars will kill any mage, regardless of age, if they ever show sign of disobedience or being possessed (or if they simply want to kill them! whos gonna fo anything?)

Theres also the problem with the elves and the fictional racism, and that is: this is the most racist depiction of fictional racism ever. The elfs are divided into two "subraces": the dalish, those who live in the forest and want to recreate their lost culture, and the city, those who live in the alienage, and are only allowed to get out of there to be slaves- oops, to work for the humans.

Dragon Age Inquisition's dlc, Trespasser, shows that a character from the game, Solas, is actually an ancient elf, from a time when elfs were considered "gods" and. had slaves

and multiple. MULTIPLE. times throughout the games, the elves are mocked and not taken seriously, or are there for torture porn (if you play as a fem city elf in Dragon Age Origins, the first part of the game is you being kidnapped by humans on the day of your wedding to be raped by them). If you play as human, you always have the opportunity to be racist, or to simply choose to fuck over with the elves bc the rewards are better.

Tl;dr: Dragon Age's fictional racism is the worst thing ever, i hate BioWare and i hope the next game is either the last, or does bad enough that they never touch the series again

What i wish to see in tesvi: long post

Bretons aren't just french-inspired people who like to cook! They're half elves and should have slightly pointy ears! You should be able to modify their magic ancestry and maybe give a little variation to their pointy ears. Also: it could work as a subrace but REACHMEN! Give us different tattoos and facemarkings! Make everyone react differently if your character is a Reachperson or looks like your typical medieval breton! Make nord npcs react to a breton differently if they have rechamen face tattoos! Allow us to learn different spells depending on the cultural background.

Argonians should be able to have those fin-like things give us the full dinosaur experience of argonians! I don't know much about their lore but they come in all shapes. Also there should be different options/quests/reactions/dialogue in-game regarding the Hist, sithis, etc.

Altmer. They should look like in Skyrim, not just like a typical Caucasian Imperialist, leave that look for imperials. They are Golden! Maybe let them shine! Let us adorn our altmers with beautiful makeup and jewelry, let other altmer npcs react calmly to our altmer but make almost all human races act a bit nervous around the altmer.

Dunmer. Ok so i dont really know much about dunmer but they should have more depth to their magic talents! Give us dunmer-based and exclusive spells! Make argonians judgemental towards us and give us mORE FIRE. Also about how they look: theire not just grey, in oblivion they also look blue-ish and purple! Give us more colors! Also also: why do they have to look all wrinkly? ESO dunmers look better i guess.

Nords. Make them real barbaric, i think theyre really well done, specially in Skyrim. It would be nice if we had giantborns / titanborns or something like that. BUT GIVE US A REAL NORDIC PANTHEON!!!! Make them mention shor, talos, alduin not just in battle!!! And even if they're not talented in magic, give us storm/weather/snowy spells or just nature based spells specially for hunting, make them less affected by animal attacks like bears idk. Also let other npcs react to them depending if they're human or elf you know

Redguards. I DEMAND A LOT FOR REDGUARD CULTURE. we need a really different pantheon, we already know there's differences so please if tesvi is based in part in hammerfell dont do like skyrim and just throw the imperial pantheon. Also maybe they have desert based spells to help them survive in long journeys, maybe related to ancient left-handed elves' sand magic??? We need a lot of lore and i hope they deliver. We also need a lot of magic/weapons/culture/quests related to them being the best sailors. Give us war with the maormer! Give us war with the elves! Give us war with the sload and lots of piracy and tales!

I'm pretending left-handed elves are extinct or supposed to be extinct like falmers or snow elfs. I doubt they'll appear as playable races but i want to know what happened to the rest of the snow elfs! Maybe we can get close to a community of survivors of both races? Have access to their technology, weapons, armor, spells like sand-"bending" of the sinister elves, or snow/sun magic from the snow elves

I also doubt we'll be able to play as dwemer BUT since there's a theory about them disappearing because they got yeeted to the future maybe we can see them in tes VI. A lot of them. All of them. Maybe the main quest goes around them re-claiming their abandoned cities. Give us lore about their telepathy, tuning, give us followers and machines please. Even if they dont appear, give us dwemer technology

Khajiit. Ok so if tesvi is partly located in hammerfell, khajiits surely make a huge population since its also a desert. So dont give us just khajiiti caravans. Give us full khajiit marketplaces, guilds, factions, martial arts, etc. It'd be nice to allow us more customization, maybe even allow us to select from two or three humanoid khajiit forms, give us manes, and a lot of adornments. Make them excellent merchants and the most agile race please.

BOSMER! One of my favorite races. GIVE US THE HORNS, give us the chance to make our skin green, have tree-markings, AND IF I WANT TO, GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO FOLLOW THE GREEN PACT! Give us pointy teeth and exclusive marksman talents. I doubt we well be given the wild hunt but maybe we can witness it, or maybe they can extend the "command animal" power into a more powerfull version, let me ride a bear, let me pet any wolf, let me carry snakes idk

Imperials. Ok i know they're the almost the most boring race but it would be nice if they could be based not just off the Roman Empire, but all their colonies as well. Make them excellent at adapting to new cultures. Maybe as an imperial character we suffer the less prejudice except for altmers or something, make them versatile and not just roman, make them not exclusively caucasian, give us Mediterranean vibes, phoenicians, northern african-inspired clothing and weapons depending if theyre imperials from cyrodiil, or born in hammerfell. It would be nice if nocs had some sort of ayleid possessions.

Orcs. I WANT TO SEE THE DRAGONTAIL MOUNTAINS. i want the drama of every clan. But i need to see more than just their brute type. I need to know more about their magic, rites, etc. I want to see their soft side. I want to see that theres more to their fixation with battle, war and lineage, let us see honor, sacrifice and love in the most alien way but show us that theyre not just green tanks. Also their architecture: *chef (chief) kiss*

MAORMER. So its not exactly a playable race, if the game is going to be set in the illiac bay, hammerfell etc. I NEED TO SEE THE FISHY PIRATES AND THEIR HUGE SNAKES. IM A THIRSTY BOY FOR THE SEA ELVES. Give us the chance to play as them, maybe they only have small properties in big ports (i see it as the Nauts in Greedfall) , give us white and slightly iridescent scaly skin. Storm and snake magic all the way! Weather magic! Fog magic! Tridents, harpoons instead of bows, pirates pirates pirates. ALSO MAKE EVERY ALTMER HATE THEM.

Give us a quest involving a forbidden romance between a noble high elf in a breton embassy, soon to be wed unwillingly to a breton noble for family interest, BUT its our job to help them escape with a sea elf pirate or sailor because they're in love!!!!!!!! Make it gay if possible. Give us the gay pirates Todd! Please im begging you!

I got another ask (from @the-ginger-gent ) asking for more so I took the opportunity to explain the subraces in that one xD

But characters! Let's go!

Theres two girls (Ania and Zuri) and three guys (Tharien, Karius, and Taj). I'll write their descriptions in the same order I wrote their names so it's all easy, yeah?

Ania: She's a Light Elf with pink skin (I imagine pastel) and her hair is black, in a long braid. She's got a dark scar on her shoulder, and she is such a sweetheart? She's so soft, she gives a lot of praise and is real gentle.

Zuri: She's a Dark Elf with deep blue skin (I imagine like, either Night Sky or like Blue Pen Ink) and her hair is a lighter shade of blue. Her hair is shaved on one of the sides, and the hair that's left is like, medium-length (imagine like, it stops around the chin to shoulder area.) She's got a deep voice, her teeth are sharp, shes intimidating, shes got a massive dick, she's a dom and I love her.

Tharien: He's a Dark Elf with dark brown skin (like milk chocolate, maybe a little darker than that) and he has white freckles. Haven't decided on his hair colour, but his hair is short and touselled. He's not much of a talker- I imagine he sounds like Mori from the English dub of Ouran Highschool Host Club.

Karius: Another Light Elf! He's got green skin, his hair is cropped short, and he's got a regal-ish voice. Sounds well educated. (Also because the scenario I'm playing is like, non/dubcon, he asks first before doing what he wants)

Taj: He's a Silver Elf, because I was determined to have one with metallic silver skin. He's got long black hair and friendly eyes. He's mute, and uses sign language- and his friends translate if the creature he's signing to doesn't know Elvish- to communicate.

A lil DnD haul :>  I painted the smaller box, made the Tome and I have about 9 sets of dice at the moment. I don’t know what to paint on the big box tho :/ I use the Tome to write my character’s down in, but I still make sheets for them. The Tome just has stats, some bio stuff (Age, race, colours etc), a portrait of the character, their subclass details and their overall class details, and also their race/subrace details, feats and any spells they get from their feats or race :> I can’t afford the PHB so I have to make do with the Tome, and the odd commission helps pay for the spellcards if theres enough left after my college expenses had been covered :))

(COMMON) ELVES SHOULDNT LIVE AS LONG AS THEY DO!!

THEY CAN HAVE FERTILE HYBRID OFFSPRING WITH HUMANS! THAT MEANS THEYRE SUPER CLOSE GENETICALLY! SO THEY SHOULD LIVE THE SAME AMOUNT AS HUMANS!

like seriously, why? they dont have a ton more magic than humans, like y’know, EVERY OTHER RACE THAT LIVE FOR SO FUCKING LONG?? tbh the main reason a lot of modern fantasy elves are immortal is because of tolkien and the myths about the fae he took inspiration from. and sure, D&D elves are technically descended from the fae, but that doesnt cancel out the close relation to humans. 

and you know what? thats valid, after all, high elves and fae eladrin exist. but they are all seperate races with different stats and abilities! but theres still the issue of the fertile hybrids. 

heres a proposed timeline that (i think) explains everything:

at some point a super long time ago, the evolutionary ancestors of humans, elves, and orcs (since half-orcs exist) split in two, with about 25% of the population using learned magic (aka warlocks and wizards) to get to and live in the fae-wild. and the rest staying in the “main world”

after a couple of generations, the fae-wild ancestors started having cartain muatations, pointy ears, stangely colored hair and skin, and innate magical abilities. fast forward about fifty thousand years (fae-wild time, since it works differently from main world time) and those mutations only became more pronounced, resulting in the eladrin. having heard about the main world some got curious and a small population (like- MAYBE a few hundred) moved there, and surprise surprise! humans are mostly a thing now (the ancestor of dwarves had barely split apart at this point) and quite a lot of eladrin/human couples form, though of course same species pairings are still the norm thanks to lifespans. this starts the high elf race, which are more genetically close to the eladrin. 

fast forward another few thousand years, and high elves (which til now have mostly stuck around with the eladrin) are becoming more widespread, and due to the lack of other high elves they mostly marry humans. bada bing bada boom common elves are here! now of course this diaspora of high elves only continued to grow, and thus so did the common elf population, which eventually split into the various subraces. 

at the point of most campaigns (roughly equal to the renissance With Magic Gadgets) most elves retain very little of their eladrin ancestry, with small pointed ears and lifespans equal to their (at this point closer genetic relatives) humans.

now of course this is all just speculation based off of the info on various wikis (mostly the forgotten realms wiki) and by no means definitive, if anyone has a better explaination for them having crazy long lifespans go for it, but this is how i think elves can have their ~inate magic~ while also having normal fucking lifespans.

yELLS REAL BIG YES ILU ok imma put all this bs under the cut!

ok so first off!! easiest is lakkunshar which i have a doc for! heretl;dr it’s a VERY warm planet in the solar system, probably a tad closer to the sun than earth would be + its very small and has no large bodies of water on the surface so travel is quite easy! there are many volcanoes that will periodically erupt, covering parts of the planet in thick ash, once in a blue moon there will be actual lava but it isn’t too common. all the flora is VERY vivid, bright, and healthy after all the volcanic ash has been absorbed into the ground. the species inhabiting the planet, yunfari, are lapine (rabbit) humanoids with very strong legs and lots of adaptations to help them migrate when needed and to generally survive on the planet. there arent many other organisms other than insects, birds, and burrowing rodents so the yunfari are primarily herbivores with the occasional tendency to eat bugs! theyre a kind of primitive species as they havent had the opportunity to settle enough to make technological advances

glymmihr is the next closest planet! id say the atmosphere/temperatures are pretty similar to earth but its really really humid, especially in hotter weathers!theres a lot more technological advances here such as cities etc! glass and building materials are usually some kind of sugary component like refined sugar glass or silicon. there is stone, water, dirt, etc but flora tends to be mainly tropical-esque fruit trees, bushes etcbig landmarks are the jungles, fihr-bran city, the plains, and the citadel!the people inhabiting here are known as glym (creative i know bluh) and there are a lot of subraces that are adapted to their homes! the best way to describe them is like a bunch of sea cucumbers with limbs lmaotheyre primarily made of elastins and sugar with a hardened exterior so they kinda look like sexless gummy people. again, think of something like a sea cucumber or a slug but smart!heres a doc with info about the areas~

the other two planets i dont actually have that much written for but! ill explain them best i can!

myag (mai-ahg) is a relatively cool planet covered in fresh water! it wasnt originally inhabited by anything but sea creatures and very very intelligent creatures that look similar to “mermaids” but they get offended if you liken them to human fairytales. theyre primarily a carnivorous species that range from deeper dwellers with softer bodies, needle-like teeth, bioluminescent antennae, and either snake like lower bodies or many prehensile squid-like tentacles, all the way to 10ft long hunters with shark teeth and protective scales growing over their most exposed areas like outer arms, chests and stomach, back, tailsas settlers came from other planets, they made peace with the species on myag and created small settlements made mostly of stone that dot the planet. the non-natives all tend to own quick-paced glider boats that can be powered either by sails or soft fans that act similar to flippers, just a bit faster! there arent really any land masses at all aside from underwater where shallowness levels vary. settlements are usually built on the shallowest areas where theyre less likely to disturb the rest of the planet life! people that live here tend to get used to having wrinkled skin on the hands and feet and also tend to tan more often due to the lack of shelter and the almost constant sun

turen is my least figured out planet ngl! it was very very advanced in terms of settlements and technology though! the natives here were the most human-like except they had such powerful abilities that other planets from neighboring solar systems etc actually destroyed the planet oofthe people had abilities that i kinda??? based off of the song “she heals everything”. they can open tunnels in time and space, essentially viewing the world through different dimensions in order to travel wherever they want. they can also use sympathetic healing, they can literally heal anything but what they have healed will transfer to themselves instead of the other. its kind of like a yoyo effect. the afflicted might have this injury or disease that slowly worsens, a turen native comes along and takes the affliction at its current state and it will slowly reverse until they too are rid of it! healing takes a shit ton of stamina and can leave them incapacitated or fatigued for an amount of time but due to the reversing nature of the healing, they can���t actually die from healing someone else, otherwise they die as easily as a human child. not even an adult. their bodies are very fragile.

aa thats about all i can give at the moment but!! ill post more if i ever think of it

It disgusts me that people think they can barge in and try to tell others how to feel and cope. Just because it doesn’t help them..doesn’t mean it won’t help someone else. “I don’t like this therefore no one should be allowed to do it” is such a selfish worldview. 

If someone uses the proper tags so people who don’t like it or are triggered by it can avoid it then..there shouldn’t be a problem.
