(edit/part two)
CBT therapy is something common for those with bpd mei mei finds that when she's emotional it helps her to anchor herself to reality, she feels like a failur if she's second place but when confronted by her parents in the testing scene she thinks "you spelled your little butt off, first place in our hearts" which is cognitive restructuring/reframing. and also relaxation and stress managing techniques with imagery
exposure therapy she's afraid of not following her mothers path and she's afraid of her panda, she exposes herself to these in a safe freind surrounded enviroment where she's supported. this is exposure therapy.
Activity schedualing: she's shown to mark the calander for a goal she's nervous for. her burdon of decision is gone and the choice is made. she's going to go to the concert and she's going to interact in a high stress exciting possibly triggering place where she may meet people she looks up to, then she can practice her other CBT techniques she's accidentally learning with the help of her friends
behavioural experiments, she's clearly never been to a party at all what so ever, and further more she is being paid by her bully, a clear trigger for her to be used for her magic tricks or special talent she's developed along with using her chameleon bpd trait to be the best assistent host she can be. her grandmother warned her that the more she taps into these stressful situations the more difficult it is to contain, fear mongering her into being obedient. Do you know what she does? She tries to compromise and she makes the theory of what will happen, she acts out and then thinks about what she can do differently next time, she tries to burry her panda with the help of her family and their toxic positivity metaphor, but she realises this wont work for her.
After thinking about the conversation she finally has with her soft parent dad, *(not an insult but an actual thing in phychology of toxic/abusive households we don't see him talk much throughout the movie, he doesnt stand up for mei mei when her mother is being too hard on her. soft passive parent (dad))* has with her. That her imperfections arent all bad, that everyone has different sides to them and she should instead make the good parts of herself stronger while learning to manage and live with the more difficult parts, rather than be in denial.
He, her father, the parental figure who never stood up for her, who never took her side vocally, who she thought mustve felt the same conditional love her mom was expressing to her wether on purpose or not. the one person she needed acceptance from at all in her life? tells her that she can be her own person, if she wants to. That her true self made him laugh, finally she has the approval of her parent, the permission to not feel like a failure under pressure. she can begin to heal and break down the barriers she was going to go through with putting on in order to conceal and hide from her "inner beast" rather than tame it and live with it.

dream again
before i go back to sleep i just wanna say i had a pretty weird dream a couple hours ago where we had like, 2 or 3 people over at our house that worked on spongebob for dinner and to stay the night (also our house was the same but like, much spacier somehow like all the rooms and shit got proportionally bigger and they stayed in the room we got upstairs where my grandpa now stays its almost like a hotel room up there and mustve kicked ass in the dream since everything was bigger) and for whatever dumb reason i didnt even talk to them that much even though that show had bigass impact on childhood of me n shit but anyways one was a lady who voice acted and wrote scripts sometimes and i think she had this shirt or one that was very similar (but i think it was a tinge more gray):

and she was like in her mid-30s to early 40s with dark hair, either black or dyed very very dark red, and a somewhat stocky build  but anyways after the dinner and when her and her bf/husband/fiancee who also worked on the show were bout to go to bed upstairs (i think whoever else was there, if anyone had already gone up to bed) she started like, idk exactly what i think she was having trouble breathing or a headache or nausea or all three or a combo of 2 of those things??????????? and i believe we learned of this condition/sickness she had during the dinner and the girl’s husband or whatev was speaking calmly to her and helping her through it, but not that calmly, it evidently wasnt a really bad episode she was having it seemed like it was just major discomfort but nothing more and i think because of that we all assumed whatever she had wasnt too serious. but anyways i think them being over had something to do with a spongebob special marathon that was happening the next day, and they like, needed to get somewhere for it that was close to us i guess and i think that mightve been why they stopped by. whatever the marathon special shit was it was pretty huge cause like, everyone in our family already knew about it (i think) and they dont even watch nick (and neither do i atm for that matter) (also it was either they knew about it or the people over told us very well about it) anyways the marathon was on like, literally every tv in our house the next day and between episodes/before and after commercial breaks the narrator voice from “Spongebob vs The Patty Gadget” would say some shit while an image that looked just like this was shown

its kinda weird cause this is one of the most similar looking things to something ive seen in a dream that ive ever seen, the only difference i think is that in my dream the shot was a bit more zoomed out. but on one of the bumpers them the narrator (while not completely breaking his pirate voice) spoke in a more solemn tone over some kinda sad music (i think it mightve been like, sad pirate style music, but not the kind youd normally hear on the show) and started talking about the lady among the spongebob crew members that were over the other day and intermittently showed some clips in black and white the middle of the pic of voice roles she did (i know ms puff was among the roles she did but she def did not look like ms puff’s real life voice actor at all) as well as diff clips of other characters talking cause they were parts of scripts she wrote. and so they announced that she had passed away that day of whatever sickness/condition we had seen the day before and i think after that i just woke up. 
anyways now its fuckin 4:29 and i need to get the fuck back to sleep cause damn its late and early at the same time
