Aaaaaahhhh! I loved those child headcanons so much! Can you do them with the Minor trio please?
YES I CAN because I love angst lol! Since these turned out ridiculously long again, I’m putting it under the cut. But thank you for the request and I hope that you enjoy! ^^
V
Things finally seemed to be going right in V’s life
He finally let go of his past and was the proud leader of the RFA as well as your newly wedded husband
When he found out that you were pregnant, V seemed to be the happiest man in the world
However, you had a tough pregnancy and V could tell how much the baby was putting a strain on your baby
And when it came time to delivering your little one, you were only able to hold your baby girl in your arms for a few moments until you passed away
V was absolutely heartbroken, but he knew that he had to push past his own sadness in order to raise his little girl
As his daughter grew, V took enough photos of her to fill multiple photo books
He didn’t want to miss a single moment in his daughter’s life and as she grew up, she was more curious about you
V showed his little girl all kinds of photos of you, reminiscing in the past and seeing pictures of you so happy made all of his grief and guilt release at once
The little girl was shocked when her father started crying, the tears kept flowing as it hurt V so much without you
His daughter was a bit confused but she wrapped her arms around her father, asking him if he was crying because you were gone
V clutched his daughter to him, nodding as he held her head against his chest
Once he finally was able to compose himself, V took a deep breath and apologized to his daughter for the sudden outburst
The little girl smiled and wiped the remaining tears off of V’s cheeks and asked him to tell her more about you
V smiled sadly and sat her on his lap and showed her pictures of you, telling her all about you which made her smile
With the help of his daughter, V was able to start living life to the fullest again and even though you were no longer physically with him, he always knew that you would be in his heart
Unknown
Whenever Saeran found out that you were pregnant, he was simultaneously excited and nervous
He was truly excited to start a family with you, but he never wanted to become a parent that reflected his own
Throughout your pregnancy, you were the one calming down Saeran and while you never admitted it, he believed he was causing you stress on yourself and the baby
He had a terrible feeling as you were in the hospital room in labor, he was so anxious that he waited outside of the room, pacing back and forth
When he was finally allowed inside, Saeran’s heart felt heavy with guilt and fear as he saw how utterly exhausted and sick you looked
However, your newborn baby boy was healthy and that’s all you cared about
After a week in the hospital, your health continuously declined and when Saeran heard the news that you passed away, he was an emotional wreck
He didn’t care for his baby boy, all he could do all day was lay in his bedroom and cry, his heart truly felt like is shattered
His brother cared for his child but knew Saeran needed help
Seven opened the door to his brother’s room and frowned sadly at the state of Saeran
Without saying a word, Seven enveloped Saeran in his arms, quietly letting his brother sob into his chest
The sudden noise of his baby boy crying made Saeran look up, wiping his red, raw eyes, Saeran got up to tend to his son
The pain and sadness still weighed heavily on his heart, but Saeran knew that it was his responsibility to take care of his son and that he needed him
From that day on, Saeran tried his best to become a good father, although things were still hard for him
Seven and the other RFA members helped out immensely, and the emptiness in his heart was starting to be filled by his tiny son
As his son grew, Saeran gradually became a more loving and caring person
He would always treat his son to ice cream and taught him how to use a computer
And whenever his son would ask about you, Saeran would relay stories about you, feeling happy as he thought back to sweet memories
Saeran was such a loving father, making sure to always give his son enough love for the both of you
Even though you weren’t with him anymore, Saeran learned how to cope with his pain and give his son the love and support he needed
Vanderwood
Having always lived life on his own, Vanderwood never thought that his heart would belong to another
But whenever he met you for the first time, it was love at first sight
After handling things with the RFA and his agency, Vanderwood and you were finally able to live your lives together as a happy couple
Never particularly wanting kids, Vanderwood was surprised and somewhat anxious when you announced you were pregnant
Although never the best with his words, Vanderwood was extremely kind and encouraging throughout your pregnancy, showing a softer and more fatherly side of himself
And when it was time for you to give birth, a healthy baby girl was brought into this world, making Vanderwood forget all of his fears and doubts
Things seemed to be going perfectly for your small family, Vanderwood had never felt so happy before in his life
However, after two months of giving birth to your tiny girl, you had fallen ill and suddenly passed away
Even though he was stoney faced on the outside, Vanderwood felt as if a part of him had died too
It became incredibly for him to raise his daughter, he felt as though he had no strength or will to take care of himself let alone his own baby
So reluctantly, Vanderwood called Seven and the rest of the RFA member to helped him
They were all incredibly supportive and helped as much as they could, but Vanderwood still felt as though he couldn’t raise his daughter
He had seriously considered giving her up for adoption until Seven talked some sense into him
After taking some time to heal, Vanderwood realized that losing his daughter meant losing his last connection to you
So he became a responsible, kind, and loving father to his little girl
Raising her wasn’t an easy task, there were many times when he felt overwhelmed or frustrated
And as she grew, the little girl started looking more and more like you, making Vanderwood miss you even more
But for the sake of his daughter, stayed strong and made sure his little girl always felt loved
He became very protective over her but she understood, there was no way he was going to lose his daughter as long as he was there
Not a day went by that Vanderwood didn’t miss you greatly, but with his daughter there he was able to slowly get over his sadness and have a long, happy life with his little girl

MYSME RBB
Hey!! I joined my first ever collab this year for the Mystic Messenger fandom! It was totally awesome, and I lucked out and got someone super cool as my artist. Shout out to @thedum1, who was my partner for this. Go check out their amazing art that goes along with my writing, and give them some love. Without further ado, here’s the fic!
(You can also find this on ao3!)
Saeyoung decided that he’d been sitting in one place for far too long. His back was screaming in agony, his eyes were trying desperately to make the computer screen focus, and his head felt like it was stuffed full of cotton. All of those combined to make him feel miserable, like he was going to explode if he sat there for even one more minute.
He shut down his workstation, making sure that his work remained where it was, the computer encoded carefully to make sure that no one could get into it and change things. Of course, if someone was going to get in, they’d have to break through the security in his house, which wasn’t likely to happen. He’d just figured out the best password for his front gate, after all. As Saeyoung idly considered his password (and other possible future ones), he slid on his shoes and grabbed his jacket.
He stopped in the kitchen to grab a package of Honey Buddha Chips and then was off, heading into town on some form of a quest. The destination isn’t important, he tells himself, just the experience. He just needed some fresh air, a sight that wasn’t his computer screen (or, more recently, the wall slightly above and behind his computer), and perhaps a reminder that there were other humans in the world outside of himself and Vanderwood.
He hummed to himself as he walked, enjoying the sun on his skin and the sounds of birds and people talking. Couples were walking just about everywhere in the park, each chatting and laughing happily. Some younger kids were running around chasing each other. A dog sprinted past Saeyoung, chasing a stick that had just been thrown.
The dog reminded him of Elly. She always was willing to run around his feet happily as he played with her in Jumin’s apartment. He missed the white cat. It’d been far too long since he last saw her, and he mentally decided to schedule a time to break through his friend’s security to see the fluffy Persian again.
As he walked along, a flyer for a pet shop caught his eye. It was advertising a day to come play with the animals, both cats and dogs alike. As he stopped to read it more thoroughly, Saeyoung realized that if he headed to the shop right now he could get in at least an hour and a half with the cats (and maybe some dogs too). Now armed and ready with a plan of action, he set off with a purpose, striding quickly to the pet store.
As he neared it, he noticed that not many people were lingering around. Saeyoung realized that this must be one of the less popular pet shops and was sad to see that, especially because it looked very charming and quaint. As he pushed open the door, a bell above his head let out a quiet sound to alert an employee that someone had arrived.
Sure enough, a slightly frazzled-looking young man appeared. His hair was shaggy and black, long enough that it was falling into his eyes just slightly. The eyes in question were a stunning blue-green that Saeyoung wouldn’t mind looking into for a while. He tried to shake off that thought. He was here for cute cats, not cute people.
“How can I help you?” The guy asked, a small smile on his face.
“I’m here to play with the cats. I saw a flyer saying that you guys had free time for that?”
“Oh, of course! Right this way. I think there’s only one other person in there, so it shouldn’t be that much of a crowd. Feel free to use any of the toys out. And don’t worry, the only one that scratches is our resident sourpuss, Yoshi.” The employee opened the door carefully and Saeyoung peered in, amazed at all the cats running around or napping.
There was one girl sitting happily in the middle of the room, surrounded by cats. She had a dark skin tone and was wearing a pink skirt and what Saeyoung was pretty sure was a halter top. (How he knew that? Well, let’s just say that he had been considering one for cosplay for a long time.) When she turned to look at him, he spotted glasses and heterochromatic eyes. One brown, the other a bright blue.
She’s cute, was his first thought. It only amplified when he realized that her hair had a piece sticking up that looked to be meticulously formed into a heart like you would see on a lovesick anime girl. Her dedication spoke volumes and he knew that he would probably end up liking this girl if they talked.
He shook his head slightly. No, he couldn’t be thinking about that. Not today! He was here for cute cats, not cute girls or cute boys. His mind was set firmly on petting all the adorable creatures.
So he walked past the girl, giving her a faint smile. She returned it with a glowing one that practically lit up her entire face, and Saeyoung had to hide how his heart pattered at the sight. He focused his eyes on a particularly cute orange cat that was napping peacefully in a ray of sunlight.
As he reached out to pet it carefully, the cat responded by purring softly, like this was everything it could have dreamed of. However, after a while it tired of his antics and scratched softly at his hand in warning. He chuckled and pulled his hand away, letting the feline relax by itself. His eyes scanned the room for another willing friend and they snagged on a little black and white kitten.
It was pawing at a toy, obviously bored. Saeyoung crawled over carefully and picked up the toy, which appeared to be a feather on a string. He bounced it around, and the kitten started to paw at it. It got into the game, eventually leaping at it until it tired itself out.
Saeyoung made a “pspsps” noise, trying to attract the kitten to him. Its ears perked up and it headed over to his lap, where he petted it softly. The cat seemed like just the perfect companion, and if he could adopt a cat right now he would definitely consider this little guy as the one.
There was a quiet intake of breath over his shoulder, and Saeyoung looked back to see the girl gazing fondly at the kitten. As soon as she noticed his gaze, she colored, blushing slightly. “Ah! Sorry to bother you!”
“Oh, it’s not an issue,” he said, giving her a smile. “He’s a cute one, isn’t he?” He gestured to the kitten that had made itself comfortable in his lap.
“Yes, he really is. I must admit, I may have been looking at him the entire time… but I got a little nervous he wouldn’t like me.” She looked away, seemingly embarrassed.
“Well,” Saeyoung said, an idea coming to mind. “Let’s test that out, shall we?” With that, he scooped up the feline and plopped him directly in her lap. The cat seemed stunned at first, and Saeyoung worried that he would hiss and claw at the abrupt change. Instead, the cat sniffed at the girl and then settled in again, seemingly unconcerned by what had just happened.
“Oh,” the girl said, smiling. “He’s lovely.” Her hands went to softly pet him.
After a few minutes, she looked up. The cat was happily asleep in her lap, purring softly. She spoke again, her voice quiet so as to not disturb the kitten. “I’m sorry, I didn’t introduce myself. I’m Jasmine, but you can call me Jas. It’s good to meet you…”
She trailed off, searching for a name. Saeyoung smiled at her before giving her his fake name. “I’m Luciel. It’s good to meet you as well, Jas. It seems like you’ve got a way with cats, huh?”
“Well, I don’t know about that,” she said with a laugh. “I do love them though. Cats are some of the best animals, in my opinion.”
“You have a top-tier opinion then. I’m inclined to agree!”
“So I take it you’re a cat enthusiast as well, Luciel?”
“Yep,” he said, popping the ‘p’. “I have a friend who has a gorgeous cat and that’s kind of what kickstarted my love for them.”
“Have you ever considered getting one?” She cocked her head, but her hands never left the black and white kitten.
“I’d be lying if I said no. But my job is kind of crazy, and I can honestly say that I don’t think a cat would be good for me right now. Someday soon, hopefully. What about you?”
“I actually came here today hoping to adopt. I’ve been looking for a while but I never found one that I really loved. Well, until today. But I’m still not completely sure…”
“Well the little guy loves you, I can tell that much. And if I’m wrong, which is not very likely, let me tell you, he’s the kind of cat that will always be able to find a new home.” Saeyoung stretched and winked at her.
“Well in that case… I guess I’ll need a name for him, huh?” She looked down with a smile. “Got any good ones?” Jasmine’s heterochromatic eyes twinkled with a hidden glee when Saeyoung’s face lit up.
“Oh boy, do I! I’ve been saving up all sorts of names for this. Okay, there are the classics, like Fluffy, Batdude, Charles. Oh, and you can’t forget Toast!” His rambling list of (admittedly awful) cat names went on for a long time, leaving Jas halfway to tears with laughter as he continued. When he finally drew his list to a close, both of them had laughed so hard that the kitten had woken up and the employee had poked his head in to make sure that nothing bad was going on.
“Okay, okay,” Saeyoung said once he’d calmed down slightly, “any names catch your fancy?”
“I mean Fuzzbucket was a pretty good idea, but I think I decided on Tama.”
Saeyoung and Jas looked down at the same time to inspect the cat. The black and white kitten released a soft mewl and butted his head at Jas’ hand to request more pets. The two scheming partners in crime looked at each other and smiled.
“Tama is perfect.” They both said at the same time, then blushed and looked away. Saeyoung swore that when he looked at her cradling the tiny cat next to her chest she seemed to glow with happiness.
Soon enough the time to play with cats was over and the employee was putting the animals back in their cages and thanking them for coming to play with the cats. Jas told him about her interest in adopting Tama, and the employee got her the forms she would need to sign before she could take the kitten home. Saeyoung stayed with her as she filled the forms out, the both of them laughing and chatting the entire time. When all was said and done, Jas hoisted the carrier that held Tama up and exited the building, Saeyoung holding the door for her.
Jas scanned the street, then took a deep breath in, steeling her nerves. “I had a really good time today, Luciel. I was wondering if you’d like to do it again some...time?” She turned around to see the man gone. Her brows furrowed as she swiveled her head to see where he’d gone. “Luciel?”
Saeyoung, who had darted behind a pillar beside the pet store, let out a quiet sigh of disappointment. He gritted his teeth together when he heard Jas whisper sadly to Tama that “he must not have wanted to talk anymore, huh?”
He leaned his head against the pillar and stayed there until he heard the quiet clip-clop of her shoes walking away. Then he tore himself away from the pillar and walked towards home, hands shoved into his pockets, knowing that he would always remember the girl from the pet shop.
The sounds of music coming from a radio fill the kitchen. A black and white cat races around its owners’ feet as they try to dance. Laughter and pure contentment fill the air as the redhead twirls around the girl with one blue eye and one brown one.
Years ago, when I was younger, I kinda liked a girl I knew.
“Do you remember when we first met?” Jas asked, her skirt swinging wildly as Saeyoung spun her enthusiastically.
“How could I forget? That pet shop must be the most magical place on this Earth to me.”
She was mine, and we were sweethearts. That was then, but then it’s true.
“I was so upset when you disappeared, you know. I thought you’d gotten sick of me.”
“I was just as upset, trust me. But I thought I had to, because of the agency. And with Rika and the RFA… it just wasn’t a good time.” Saeyoung shook his head, but then pulled Jas closer to him as they waltzed across the floor.
I’m in love with a fairytale, even though it hurts. Cause I don’t care if I lose my mind, I’m already cursed.
“And then I showed up at Rika’s apartment a few weeks later. Crazy how fate works like that, huh?”
“Oh trust me, I was incredibly surprised to see you appear on the CCTV feed. If my life had a playlist of all the moments where I nearly fell out of my chair, that would definitely be on the top ten list.”
“I was just as shocked as you were, trust me! I had told myself that I would never see you again, but then there you were!” Jas shook her head. “I had half-convinced myself you were some figment of my imagination.”
Every day we started fighting, but every night we fell in love. No one else could make me sadder, but no one else could lift me high above.
“I feel bad that I tried to push you away while we were both in the apartment. It was hard for me because you were the thing that made me happy and also frustrated me to no end. After all, I was sure I would hurt you.”
“I wanted to punch you so much, I hope you know. I was at my wit’s end when you finally opened up a little bit!”
“But I did, and look at where we ended up. I opened up, got my brother back, and I got the privilege of having you in my life as my girlfriend and now fiancee.”
“I’m glad that it all worked out because there’s no one else I’d rather spend the rest of my days with.”
“The same goes to you, Jas.”
“I love you, Saeyoung Choi. Bad cat names and all.” Jas said as the music started to slowly die down.
“And I love you, Jasmine Luna, no matter how much time you spend in the bathroom doing your hair.” Saeyoung responded, dipping Jas as she let out a quiet squeal.
The two laughed and continued dancing late into the night, Tama observing from his perch high above.
I’m in love with a fairytale, even though it hurts. Cause I don’t care if I lose my mind, I’m already cursed.

Ray Route After Ending in an unnecessary soap opera: a full on essay
This is going to be messy and unorganized because I’m writing this in one go, and also I’ve just received the same goddamn bad ending the third time in a row, so I’m very tired and very upset, but I guess that’s a feeling a lot of relate to right now. First of all, I need to say that I love mystic messenger with all my might, and I’ve been waiting patiently for this update for the past 3 years, but this is also why I have a lot to say about it.
So without further ado,
So when the after ending came out, just a little more than a week ago, I was ecstatic. I saw that it had 3 days of game play instead of the usual story mode pile, and I felt like the luckiest person ever. It was frustrating and stressful since the first chatrooms, sure, but for three days straight, nevertheless, I was having the goddamn time of my life.
I think there is this aspect to this after ending: it’s entertaining as hell because it’s weirdly comedic for what the plot of it is centered around. It has answer options that would fit for a sitcom, and Rika alone acts like a full-on cartoon villain. It’s confusing and bewildering, but on my first try it really helps get rid off some of the stress.
The alternate title for this post was actually: Too Much Rika, and Too Little Saeyoung. Too little of the entirety of RFA, really. I guess, in a way, it makes sense: it’s Saeran’s ending, his story, and, well, the other characters never really features in the original routes (minus Seven) at all. But it was still, honestly, too much Rika for my sanity to handle.
I would like to take a moment to talk about V. Because goddamn do I feel bad for him and all of you who had to endure this mistreatment through painful groans. I’ve never thought about his character deeply enough to be able to go into detail here but let me tell you that the moment I saw him in the very first AE story mode, with this suspicious little smile and weird dialogue, the word that initially crossed my mind was: brainwashed. Not himself. No way that same Jihyun Kim who has spent so much time and put himself in danger to get a brainwashed boy out of Rika’s grasp would not only help her get hold of him again, but bluntly betray every single one of his friends.
I saw a very good post right before the update came out; sadly, I can’t find it right now to credit, but the point of it was basically that V could have reunited with Rika because, lacking the knowledge of the route action, he thought that MC fixed Saeran. It made sense to me. I don’t think him trying to help her again is completely out of blue— but everything else that he does in this update is. The unfortunate “Could you please hide who you are?” said to Saeran is among the worst, contextually, lines in the game, and I honestly can’t believe it would come from V.
I would also like to mention that being told “that’s all I can tell you for now” for the entirety of the first day again? Annoying as hell.
There were quite a few things I genuinely enjoyed about the after ending. Vanderwood, Driver Kim, Chairman Han. I think the tying up parallel was a good touch, albeit painful— but aside from a quick moment of empty eyes, it wasn’t exactly touched upon. Rika’s “We both struggle to control ourselves by depending on the person that’s right next to us” was also about the only thing she said in these three days that I didn’t want to punch her for, considering all the sacrifice talk, and the fact that Saeran is still healing. And this brings me to the main cause of my frustration: day 4′s 2am bad end just doesn’t go along with the plot.
So I got it on my first try. I thought going along with Saeran’s plan would turn out well for us — it felt wrong to keep disagreeing with him — and I was sure Jumin would let me go back. I got the bad end at the time when I was convinced I was past all the game branch danger, and I was frustrated, but I said: fine. There’s another route of action I can take. I asked him to reconsider on my second try— and I got the same ending again; I’m really not sure what went wrong that time, and, considering I got no different result tonight either, I’m not sure if my game is bugged, or if I’m really that unlucky. But let’s think about that ending for a second.
Rika finds out everyone is leaving her, again, and goes berserk— in character, sure, especially considering how the bad endings usually are. But Saeran? He lets her talk down on him and just stays. He’s hurt, stressed out, traumatized, and the past 3 days have been very, very hard— but game-wise, this behavior doesn’t make sense to me? Whichever one of my routes actually triggers the ending, the point of those is either “I believe in you, I want to spend as much time as I can with you, and I’m coming back for you” or “There’s no way I’ll ever agree to live without you” (which, really, doesn’t mean anything— I’d understand the impact of these options better if the game branch happened before the run; but then again, I have no idea what the good end is like after that). I just don’t see Saeran — strong, grown up Saeran, who’s already told Rika off before — so easily giving in to her talk, not after everything he’s been saying just a chatroom before.
To conclude this, I think stretching the update into days of game play wasn’t exactly bad— it’s still fun, and I appreciate Cheritz for creativity, for making the answer options more challenging, even, and I really missed the feeling of being on the edge of my seat waiting for a chatroom to open; but it’s not an after ending. The decision to give several different endings to something that is already considered an ending sounds ridiculous enough on its own, but the fact that this is what follows after we’ve already worked hard on the route to get our deserved good ending? It just wasn’t the right place to put this much drama in.
So.
Here’s the best line uttered in the entire AE:

Can I request the RFA+Minor Trio reacting when they find out that MC is actually still in highschool (17-15 y.o.) but only finding out at the party
Hi there!!
I mustadmit I debated quite a lot whether to take or not this request. It’s quite a lot outmy comfort zone but since I believe noneof them would take advantage of their MC after discovering this I decided Ishould give this a try… thought I must admit I felt quite uncomfortablewriting most of this because I’m around the age of the characters and duringthe days prior to the party they tell the MC things I would be scared/disgustedto know were told to a high school girl by someone my age.
They are ofcourse all platonic or a little romantic but always considering it as a futureoption.
Also Iwrote as they founding out about MC when they meet her on their respectiveroute (except for Vanderwood of course, for him I assumed something similar toSaeyoung’s but with more involvement of Vanderwood) rather that at the partysince the only ones that don’t meet her before the party are Yoosung andJaehee.
(Btw…if youplayed Dandelion you might get some Jieun’s route vibes because I love whatcheritz did there)
RFA+Vanderwood discover MC is still in High School
Yoosung
-Probablythe less surprised one.
-Also thesmallest age gap…4-5 years are a lot when you are on your early 20’s but not somuch when older.
-Still ablushy mess… he quickly remembers a few things he told you both in the chatroomand through phone calls that definitely weren’t ok. He apologizes a lot.
-Afterembarrassment dies out he doesn’t know how to talk to you…on one hand if hestarts treating you any different you may feel offended but on the other hecan’t keep treating you like you were his age.
-He is veryconflicted about his feelings for you so you two talk it out and decide to keepit at just friends at least for a few years.
-He ispretty ok with that settlement actually; it allows you to develop a long slowdeep thrusting relationship that you both know would eventually become romanticbut there is no rush for it… you guys are fine with things are they are.
Zen
-the exactopposite from Yoosung….Zen freaks out big time.
-He feelslike the worst human being in the world; how could he shamelessly flirt likethat with a young girl?
-He can’teven look at you into the eye.
-Big bro!zen mode: Activated
-He drivesaway every single guy that tries to get close to you, regardless if they areyour age or not. That includes himself…you’ll never catch him standing lessthan ½ meter away from you.
-During theyears to come he remains a fellow RFA and a good confident in case you arehaving problems…especially family problems. He makes sure you know that if youfind yourself in the need to run away like he had at your age his doors areopen.
-Also youmay want to be extra careful about being seen with him because you knowpaparazzi can be merciless and they may misinterpretate your relationship withZen.
Jaehee
-Sheseriously can’t believe her eyes. The girl that helped her pull her life togetheris just that, a girl.
-Since herroute is non-romantic she has less weight over her shoulders but she feels badfor burdening you with her problems.
-She stilloffers you to be business partner but she states she’ll take over till you tofinish your studies (both high school and college if you decide to do so) alsoif you want a part time job she needs the help.
-Also BigSis! Mode, she becomes the best adviser/role model/ confident/ emotionalsupport you can dream on. You know she is always there for you and that it’sinfinitely comforting.
-If yourrelationship evolves into something less platonic it won’t be till you are25-ish or something like that and even so she would be very doubtful.
Jumin
-Now it’swhen things get complicated….
-give him aglass of wine…scratch that give him a bottle.
-He wasn’texactly flirty with you in the chatroom but he knows he treated you like youwere his age, maybe a little younger but definitely not 11-13 years younger… hefeels awful.
-He mayhave pushed out his life entirely if it wasn’t for the situation you two metin.
-It waslate when you showed up at his house (it wasn’t Jaehee’s fault she didn’t knoweither) and it was way too dangerous to send you back to the apartment…he couldsend you home… wait a second…you’ve been staying at the apartment for days, doyour parents even know what you’ve been up to? Have you been missing school? Whyin the world did you follow Unknown in the first place?
-theinterrogation lasts what feels like ages. When he finally calms down you are a little annoyed and he apologizes forbeing so harsh but as the situation is so dangerous he offers you a room forthe night and to take you home in the morning.
-He remainsvery protective of you on the years to come but he ends up deciding that whathe felt for you at the beginning wasn’t love. He just cares for you as a fellowRFA member.
-Heprobably won’t question those feelings again till you are 26-27 y/o. and evenif he does it would be very difficult for him.
Saeyoung
-He is amess, like more than usual.
-He feelsawful that such a young girl gets involved in all the problem with Mint Eye.
-Hisprotective instinct kick in.
-It’s alsopainful…you are about the same age Saeran was on those photos he has…too youngto be going through so much pain.
-He pushesyou away with even more decision than in his route, you should be happy leadingthe normal life of a school girl, not worrying about the him and the mess ofhis life…also when he comes around and decides to put his faith in you he feelseven guiltier to burden you with his life story and to rely that way in theperson he should be protecting.
-Aftereverything gets resolved he distances himself a little, I mean he’d always beavailable to answer your calls and help with any problem you may have (anything…from“I had a fight with my friend and I need somebody to listen” to “Can you hackmy school’s system to make pass sports class?” and even “I argued with myparents and ran away, can I stay with you?”) but otherwise you wouldn’t see himmuch.
-Same asfor Yoosung, the age gap isn’t huge so I can see having no problems falling inlove with you after you reach adulthood and he puts his life in order.
Jihyun
-What thefuck did Rika do this time?
-The firsttime he sees you talking with Ray at Mint Eye he can’t believe his eyes…I meanhe is barely able to see but he is sure you are High school student, definitelyyou have nothing to be doing at that place.
-He feelseven guiltier than he is in his route. You are far too young to be involved withMint Eye let alone comforting him and helping him solve his problems.
-Tbhbesides that I don’t see much difference with his route because with all theshit going on there is not much flirting on his side on his route, if somethingis usually MC who shows affection to V.
-If the MCshows any romantic feelings for him he’d kindly remind them that he is too oldfor them but of course he’d be so sweet about it that you’d barely feelrejected.
-Same asfor Jumin, it’d take a lot of years for him to develop romantic feelings foryou
Saeran
-In allhonesty the first thing he felt upon seeing you in person was pity.
-You arearound the same age he was when he had been brought to mint eye, so young andinnocent and full of hope in this cruel world –insert more Mint Eye bulshit here-
-As Ray hetreats you as a fragile princess and pampers you big time.
-AsDark!Saeran he is even crueler because he sees himself in you; the way in whichyou claim Ray will come back and how you refuse to give up on him reminds himtoo much of how he used to claim his brother would come rescue him.
-once heregains control over himself he can’t believe how someone so young can be sostrong… he is also very ashamed of the way he treated you both as Ray andSaeran.
-He’d bevery doubtful of how to treat you on the first few days after escaping mint eyebut in the end I don’t see the age being a huge problem for him… he’d be reallyrespectful of both you as a person and of your age, also if you show romanticfeelings for him he’d be pretty clear that you are too young and he is toounstable for a relationship yet.
-But the bond formed during the time you spendin mint eye is strong; with time he starts understanding his feelings, you bothmature more and I can see him still falling for you a few years later.
Vanderwood
-What thefuck did 707 do this time?
-Like thesituation wasn’t bad enough; that “harmless” fundraising association of Seventurned out to be a bigger mess than their agency, his partner’s long lostbrother came back to destroy him and everybody associated to him and of top ofthat they have work to do if they didn’t want the agency to dispose of them. Hehad so many worries in the meantime, so when he met the RFA’s newest member? Itwas just too much.
-He took alook at you, lit a cigarette, took 2 deep breaths and then turned the cigaretteoff because he was in front of a minor.
-He takes itup to him to keep you safe from the crazy situation you are in.
-He talksto you about how dangerous is to take orders from an stranger in your phone, heteaches you self-defense techniques and is around you all time till the problemwith Mint eye gets solved.
-He won’tbe patircularly nice to you and his presence is always rather intimidating buthe does his best to not scare you more than you already are.
-He’d alsocontact your parents and school to give them a believable excuse of yourdisappearance so to no light up any alarms.
-If Zen andJaehee become your older siblings this man goes a step further, his yourofficial new dad.

hi! i love your account ^^ i was wondering if i could group reacting to an MC who has health conditions (like i have a heart condition) that makes her weak or unable to do a lot of physical activities? i would just love to see how they would react to her.
I remember you! You sent me a match up like… A month ago? And if memory serves correctly, I paired you with Jumin! You sound awesome. I hope your heart condition isn’t too bad…
I did RFA separately and a group one including RFA and Minor Trio, the group one will be under the cut.
No, hun. You don’t love my account, I love you. ;D It was D E S T I N Y. How does this make sense, wtf Leo.
OK… I’m sorry, I’ll write now… ^^;; ~Leo
Yoosung Kim:
You were diagnosed with arthritis when you were a child, Oligo-articular JIA to be specific.
You thought you were going to get better in a few years but you were one of the unlucky people who had it for a long time.
You didn’t feel the need to mention it to Yoosung because it never came up.
Besides, it barely affected you at this point. You always managed to get through the day.
But this one was different…
You were walking home with Yoosung and your legs were hurting quite a bit.
You were lagging behind a bit so Yoosung asked you if something was wrong and you simply brushed it off as you being tired.
He then bought up the childish concept of having a race to a nearby tree in attempt to make you less tired somehow.
Not wanting to let him down, you accepted.
You were ahead of him but halfway through you felt the pain in your leg and it was unbearable.
You yelped out in pain and Yoosung stopped, crouching down to see what had happened.
He was confused for a moment before you explained that nothing had really happened. You told him about your arthritis and how you were getting surgery next month for it.
He helps you out before your surgery a lot, even to the point when it’s sometimes unbearable.
He’s still a bit overprotective after the surgery.
But you know he means well.
Zen / Hyun Ryu:
You had been suffering from back pains from time to time over the past 2 weeks.
You had been diagnosed with sciatica when you went to physiotherapist.
You didn’t feel the need to tell Zen because they told you that it would be over in a less than a year and not to worry too much.
This one time you were watching one of Zen’s musicals and when you stood up to clap, you felt a sharp pain run down your back and you immediately sat back down.
You quickly register the concern on his face and he steps of stage and asks you what’s going on.
“She’s pregnant, isn’t she? Not that far along from the looks of it… Maybe she’s one of those people who have a small bump. Anyways, it’s probably just a contraction, don’t worry too much Zen.” Someone from the audience spoke loudly.
“Jagiya, w-what?” His face was fixed in an expression of surprise
“Zen, I’m not pregnant.”
You told him you’d explain on the way home and when you were feeling a bit better you were both on your way.
After you told him he face palmed and began apologising since he wasn’t there for you.
But you tell him it’s OK, you didn’t tell him which made it your fault.
He sorts out an exercise routine with you physiotherapist and makes sure that you get better quicker.
Thanks to him, your recovery is completed 2 months earlier than expected.
Jaehee Kang:
Come on, let’s be real here. She’s the one who had an idea of what was going on before you did.
Symptoms of high blood pressure are practically unnoticeable Like me
You were amazed when she suspects it though.
She forces you to go take a blood test and it turns out she was right.
Immediately begins taking MUCH more care of your health.
She makes sure that your food isn’t too salty.
Gets rid of most of the alcohol in the house.
Begins to make you herbal tea instead of coffee because caffeine is not good for you right now!
If you smoke, she’ll gradually get you to quit.
She won’t make you go cold turkey out of nowhere though.
Also makes you sleep a lot more.
Ty mama Jaehee.
She’ll get you to exercise with her, will even invite Zen to exercise with the two of you sometimes.
She’s also on top of your medication, not in that way, she knows exactly what time to give you which set of pills and whether or not you’ve taken them if she isn’t around.
She’s so glad when your health begins to improve.
She honestly doesn’t know what she’d do without you.
Jumin Han:
You noticed around 2 months ago that your heartbeat would skyrocket out of nowhere sometimes.
You would get dizzy sometimes and you didn’t know why.
Jumin would ask you if you were alright and you would just tell him you were dehydrated or tired.
You got Jaehee to book you a doctors appointment, you didn’t tell Jumin because you thought that it was something minor and not something he should be concerned with.
He was even more concerned when Jaehee told him instead of you.
Would’ve got driver Kim to drive him to the hospital if he didn’t have so much work.
The second he walks into the penthouse the two of you share, he demands answers.
You murmur out that you were diagnosed with atrial fibrillation.
He doesn’t quite know what that is, so you tell him that it’s a form of arrhythmia.
All signs of anger leave his face as he wraps his arms around you and offers words of consolation.
He tells you that no matter what he’ll love you and it’s true.
Will keep up to date with your medication.
Makes someone keep track of whether or not you take them.
Will do and does do anything in his power to make you feel healthy again.
Anything for you.
707 / Luciel / Saeyoung:
You were diagnosed with hypoglycemia.
You went to the doctor’s a week ago and somehow Saeran had gotten wind of it and mentioned it to his twin in a conversation since he presumed that he knew.
Lol. No.
Immediately hacks your medical records. Do not try this at home kids
You’re honestly not surprised, he was bound to have found out one day, you just hoped it wouldn’t have been this way.
You tried explaining but he simply raised up a finger to silence you.
For a moment you were scared that there was gonna be an argument.
But he just tells you that it’s gonna be alright, that he’s there for you and that no matter what he’ll always love you.
He comes to your appointments unless something comes up. Even if he is forced to wait outside he waits.
Always gets the right medication for you and remembers what time to give it to you.
Heck, he even managed to make a cat robot tell you when it’s time to take your medicine again.
He’d do anything and everything to make you better again.
Group:
The entire RFA was holding a fundraiser.
All of you had to run at least 100m.
You thought you could manage that but apparently not.
You had damaged a part of your cuneiform a few weeks ago and the doctor told you it would take at least 4 months to heal.
They also told you that you shouldn’t walk too much, forget running.
When the race began you were fine.
But 50m in you felt too much pain in your foot and practically screamed in pain as you fell down.
The race promptly stopped and in a flash V was in front of you, asking if you were alright.
You nod your head but the Jaehee steps out of the crowd, asking if anyone nearby was a medic.
Seven pushed his glasses up and asked Vanderwood to come forth.
Vanderwood groaned as he came forward, claiming to only know a bit of first aid.
More than enough for this though.
He gets Yoosung to grab a first aid kit and Jumin skillfully calls an ambulance.
You can also see Zen try to calm everyone down and progress with the event alongside Jaehee.
It wasn’t really going great since Saeran kept yelling...
“WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU GUYS DO TO MC!?”
V attempted to calm him down.
Oops. Wrong guy for the job.
It takes Seven promising to get him some ice cream for him to calm down a little.
Once you’re at the hospital you get told that you need to stay there for a day minimum.
Everyone visits you, including Vanderwood at some point claiming that Seven forced him go.
Lol. We know he did it out of the goodness of his heart.
Yoosung comes along with Zen and you end up playing board games with them and they tell you about their days.
Jumin also comes, most of the time for short visits, and tells you what the doctor told him and what his new ideas for C&R are. He’ll ask you for your opinions too and tries to get your mind off of the pain.
V comes and shows you some of his new photographs, he gets you a drawing pad and some pencils so that you can draw.
Jaehee tells you little tips about how to keep yourself better.
Even after you’re let out of the hospital, they’ll constantly ask you how your doing and visit more often.
Honestly, with their help you became better so much quicker than you thought you would’ve.

could I ask for an imagine in that RFA+ V and Saeran find out that their s/o hates coffee and loves tea? they drink it like. every night and enjoys trying new flavors ! ( also, just sayin my fave ,,, is yoosung and i love oolong tea js sayin i hope that’s not pushy and i hope ur having a good day your writing is really good and imma go now thank u for ur time ) - petra
I strongly relate to this. Down with coffee, vive le thé! Be as pushy as you like, I don’t mind! ^^ And to all of my lovely followers feel free to include details and specifics if you’d like, they are requests I’m filling for you, after all E>
Zen:
Zen can appreciate a good cup of coffee.
He sometimes drinks a cup in the morning if he needs a pick me up.
He tries not to drink too much of it though. He needs to be nice and hydrated to perform well so he tries to drink mostly water.
And beer but we don’t talk about that
He also likes tea though!
Mostly at night. It’s relaxing to sit down and sip a nice, warm cup of tea before bed.
He only has two kinds of tea.
He has a cheap green tea, because of all the ~health benefits~.
And he has some chamomile for when he’s stressed.
(He’s trying to turn to it instead of going to alcohol so often.)
Which means you get to introduce him to all your new fancy teas!
He’s always happy to try new things with you.
Yoosung:
Yoosung is bragging to you one day about his coffee knowledge
(“I was in a coffee club, you know!” he tells you, puffing up his chest.)
He knows how to make latte art!
Well, sort of. The word “art” is debatable, but he can make some pretty shapes.
He can make one for you sometime!
You almost don’t want to rain on his parade.
You do it anyways though. You gotta.
You tell him you have actual taste buds that like real flavours not that bitter burnt tasting crap don’t like coffee and he droops.
…Oh.
You do like tea though.
Oh!
(He’s still a little disappointed about the coffee thing.
How is he supposed to impress you now? T_T)
He doesn’t drink a lot of tea coffee’s cheaper but he’ll make sure to keep some around the house for you! ^^
He also stops by the tea section every time he goes grocery shopping to see what they have.
Whenever there’s something new on sale he buys it right away.
He wants to have a variety at his place for you to try!
It’s also a good excuse for you to come over more often.
One time he found a new brand of oolong tea he’d never seen before. It was almost ten thousand won.
(That’s about ten whole dollars.)
But it’s new and it’s fancy and he’s sure you’d like it.
(He’ll just put the eggs back. He doesn’t need eggs this month. He’ll be fine.)
He’s basically financially supporting your obsession now
He just wants to make you happy okay
Jaehee:
It’s no secret that Jaehee likes coffee.
I mean, Jaehee really likes coffee
And she really likes you too, so she wants to share her interest with you.
When she finds out you don’t like coffee though, she tries to cut back on talking to you about it.
You have to reassure her that of course you still support her passion even though you don’t share it!
Talk coffee to me baby~
You two can still bond over your obsession with drinking hot, (sometimes) caffeinated beverages, even though they’re different drinks!
And she does like tea as well.
She mostly drinks it at night, on days she doesn’t have to pull an all-nighter for work.
She’ll make you tea lattes so you can still experience the joys of latte art!
Jumin:
Oh boy are you in luck.
Jumin also enjoys tea.
(It’s his second favourite drink, after wine, of course.)
And when Jumin loves something that means he becomes obsessive an expert in it.
He knows where to get the best brands for each type of tea.
(Do you prefer light or dark oolong tea, he asks you. He personally prefers dark, but if you like light there’s a specific kind he’s read wonderful reviews of that he can get imported for you.)
He also has memorized perfect amount of time to brew any type of tea, down to the exact second.
He personally prefers his tea black, but if you like anything in yours you can guarantee he’ll remember and get it perfect every time.
He also really likes reading which teas pair best with specific foods.
(Did you know oolong tea pairs well with pancakes?
He does.
It works well since it’s one of the few things he knows how to cook himself.)
Seven:
He will drink anything that gives him the energy to work all night
His caffeinated drink of choice is Dr. Pepper, of course.
Even though it has less caffeine than coffee. That just means he has to drink more of it!
For every cup of coffee Jaehee drinks, he has to drink 3.465 cups of PhD. Pepper.
Yes he did the math
If he really needs the caffeine he can just drink Red Bull Bear
(It’s his favourite because of the potential for “Red Bull Bear gives you wings” jokes)
He’s not the biggest fan of tea?
He’s sowwy >.
He’ll drink it if he has to. Like with coffee, he has to add enough sugar to mask the bitterness though.
But he likes feeling included so when you’re drinking your tea
He pours PhD Pepper into a pretty floral tea cup to drink with you.
He just sits there with you slowly sipping it. Pinky out, of course.
He’s grinning the entire time.
Saeran:
Please do not give the anxious fluff ball anything with caffeine
The first time he drank it his heart sped up and he felt shaky and sick and he thought he was going to die.
He also hates the taste of coffee? It’s too bitter.
And if he wanted something hot and sweet why would he bother trying to drown the bitter gross drink in sugar to make it tolerable when he could just drink something that actually tastes good, like hot chocolate?
And if he needs the caffeine to help him stay awake all night, he can just take caffeine pills for the Convenience™
(Even back in Mint Eye, the caffeine made him anxious and miserable and shaky but it kept him from falling asleep, so)
Now that he’s learning he doesn’t have to suffer and do things that make him miserable, he avoids caffeine altogether.
Tea, though, tea is nice. (Herbal teas, at least.)
Tea doesn’t try to kill you
His favourites are anything fruity and naturally sweet.
He’s open to trying new kinds though. You guys can share your favourites!
If you really want to make him happy, invite him over for tea.
It’s such a stereotypically “normal” thing, in his mind. He’s never been over to someone’s place for tea. He’d love it.
All he wants is a fancy tea party with little cakes just let him have a tea party please
V:
V doesn’t have a strong opinion on tea vs coffee?
(Though if he had to choose between the two, he would probably choose tea too. It’s more… relaxing?)
But when he finds out you like it, you can guarantee he will support you.
Both emotionally and financially.
Sometimes he chooses to drink wine instead of tea, but he always tries to sit down and drink with you at least once during the day.
(You can make him put his wine in a teacup so you can pretend you’re having a tea party)
And he will buy you all the teas you want. And more.
Seriously, this boy is loaded with both money and with adoration for you. You are going to have so many fancy teas.
You’re going to need entire cupboards for the amount of tea this man will buy you I’m not even kidding.
Vanderwood:
They like their coffee like their soul: dark and bitter.
…But tea’s nice too.
They’ll drink pretty much anything you put in their hands tbh?
(As long as Seven is nowhere nearby. They pay very close attention to what they’re drinking when he’s there.)
(Don’t ask.)
They’ve never really thought too much about things like their preferred flavour of tea, honestly?
They never really had time to stop and think about things like that.
Now that they’re in a place where they can relax and enjoy life more, they like taking time and paying close attention to the details of flavours.
Their favourite so far is lapsang souchong. There’s something they like about that smoky taste.

Why do you think that Saeran didn't have DID in the Original Story?
I apologize in advance if this isn’t exactly coherent; it’s late, and so my thoughts might be a bit all over the place.
I don’t think Saeran had DID in Original Story because there are absolutely no signs of it.
I’ve played the Original Story—and in specific, Saeyoung’s Route, into which I include the Secret Endings since they’re a continuation of his route—enough times that I have a good number of the chats memorized, and so that I don’t even have to read the guest e-mails before knowing what the correct answer choices are. I’ve gone through them non-linearly (as in, going into the history / Secret Endings out of order to look over things withotu actually playing through them) even more times. Saeyoung is my favorite character, but it’s because he’s my favorite character that I’ve spent a lot of time paying attention to and studying those that are important to him. Namely, this means both Saeran and Vanderwood.
As a result of this, I’m really familiar with who Saeran is in the Original Story, and I say with confidence that we never saw signs of DID in the Original Story. Due to the fact that we never saw signs of it, and also due to the fact that DID makes romancing him possible (more on that in a second), I feel confident in saying that Saeran was not originally conceptualized to have DID, but rather, this is something that Cheritz “retconned” (if you truly consider Another Story to be in the same universe as Original Story, rather than an AU, which I personally don’t but ymmv) onto him in order to make romancing him possible.
What I mean by that is … think back to the Saeran that we see in Original Story. Think about everything he does: How threatening he is, how he actually assaults and tortures in Bad Endings, how his grasp on emotional regulation is so poor that the slighest thing can make him grow violent in the Secret Endings (which is a defense mechanism, absolutely, but it still speaks to poor emotional regulation). How possible do you really think striking up a romantic relationship with someone in that state is, both from the standpoint of actually being able to build a healthy romantic relationship with them, and from the standpoint of wanting to? Yes, there are of course people who ate up things like the Bad Ending in the Christmas DLC where he takes MC away to dress her up like a doll, or those who liked the idea of Saeran whisking MC away in the prologue Bad Ending to make her his assistant, but for the most part Cheritz probably realized that the average player wouldn’t want to romance Saeran with the way he behaved in Original Story (and also, if they knew their own character, wouldn’t be able to romance him even if they did want to). The trauma-ridden young man that we see simply wasn’t attractive or available, from a personality standpoint, in the same way the other characters are. Which, again, isn’t to say that he didn’t have his fans, because he very clearly did, but they were far fewer in number before Another Story released.
So with that said, if Cheritz wanted to create a route for Saeran (and after seeing that there was at least some fan demand for it, they did, because they wanted that sweet dolla dolla), they knew they had to solve the problem of Saeran’s lack of attractiveness / lack of availability. There is simply no conceivable way to write him as a romance option in Original Story. It cannot be done. But in an alternate universe, they have a little more wiggle room, because they can change and alter things as they pleased. Since they were already going to do this for V (though I maintain this wasn’t necessary, and that V could have easily been a Deep Story option), they decided to do the same for Saeran. However, I think they recognized that this was still a risk. Thus, while they “retconned” DID onto him and created the much more attractive and available “Ray,” they didn’t release his route immediately. Instead, they tested the waters by seeing how fans would react to him in V’s Route. I do think that Saeran’s Route was still planned from the get-go (hence those magenta hearts), but Cheritz, being an indie company, likely didn’t want to spend the money until they were sure fans would buy it (which is a smart move). Hence, they tested the waters with “Ray,” and when they saw that the fanbase was foaming at the mouth over “Ray” to the point of virtually ignoring V despite the fact that it was his route, they gave Saeran’s Route the greenlight and moved forward with it.
So with that said, let’s look back at Original Story. As I said, there is nothing in Original Story to point toward the idea that he has DID. I mean, think about it: If there was an insinuation that he had DID in Original Story, don’t you think people would have brought it up? That people would have mentioned it? It’s one thing for people to look back on Original Story now and try to twist things to see his DID through the lens of “well, he had it in Another Story, so let’s try to find it in Original Story,” but it’s another thing altogether to take a fandom that had played this game fairly obsessively for over a year and have them completely miss any hints of multiple personalities residing within one of the more important characters to the central story before the idea is suddenly shoved to the forefront in an AU. The idea that “well, we just didn’t have enough focus on Saeran before!” is nonsense, because Secret Ending 02 is pretty much entirely from his point of view, and DID is never mentioned nor brought up. He never mentions having other personalities. The closest we get to any of this in the Secret Endings are the moments where he’s conflicted over whether Saeyoung abandoned him or not, and he’s “arguing” with himself, but fam, I argue with myself all the damn time, and I don’t have DID. Unlike in Another Story, where Saeran explicitly mentions one of his personalities “telling” him things, that’s not the case with the internal struggles he has over Saeyoung in the Secret Endings. Instead, it’s literally Saeran warring with himself over what he actually believes and what he wants to believe, both of which bleed together because he’s in a mental state where he doesn’t even know what he wants anymore. But the point I’m trying to make here is that his internal struggles are not a conclusive sign of DID. They’re not. If they were, far more people would have been talking about Saeran’s DID prior to the release of Another Story, and I never saw a single person mention it. Not even once.
Speaking of people not talking about it, there’s also the Free Talk that his voice actor had following Secret Ending 02 (which, again, was dedicated to Saeran and was largely from his point of view). Saeran’s voice actor does mention a mental illness when talking about how he voiced Saeran, but DID is not the mental illness mentioned. Instead:
As a brief side note before I continue: When I mentioned above that Saeran as we see him in the Original Story is not romanceable, I DID NOT AT ALL MEAN TO IMPLY that people with BPD are not romanceable. So please, please, do not think I was trying to say that. There are so many people with BPD who are in loving, healthy relationships, even if they have their hard days. One of my dearest friends has BPD, and she’s one of the sweetest people I have ever met, and is definitely deserving of love. So please, please don’t think that I was trying to say, “Well, he has BPD, so he’s not attractive or available,” because that isn’t at all what I meant. I was referring strictly to his behavior and his actions (which, yes, are a result of his trauma, but as he recovers he’ll get better, and much later on down the line, he might be in a place where he can healthily pursue a romance with someone).
That side note out of the way …
As you can see above, Saeran’s voice actor specifically says that he thinks Saeran has borderline personality disorder in Original Story. If Saeran was meant to have DID in Original Story, surely that is information that Cheritz would have conveyed to his voice actor. I mean, why wouldn’t they? It would inform how he acted, particularly when you consider those moments I mentioned above where Saeran wars with himself. If those instances were supposed to be demonstrations of two personalities battling it out, then that would be something that Saeran’s voice actor would mention in the free talk. He would mention Saeran having multiple personalities. But he doesn’t; not only does he mention BPD, as shown above, but he also consistently refers to Saeran as having one (1) personality:
He mentions Saeran developing a personality (i.e. developing a certain way as an individual) in Original Story, rather than Saeran creating multiple personalities as a result of his trauma. And you know, it makes sense; as I’ve written before, Saeran demonstrates symptoms of C-PTSD in Original Story, and the thing about C-PTSD is that it can often be confused with BPD because the two share a lot in common, to the point where C-PTSD is often classified as a personality disorder because of the way it shapes the way a person grows and learns to view and interact with the world (something I know from personal experience). In fact, as a bit of personal anecdotal evidence, I actually sought out my therapist because she specialized in BPD, and after reading a lot about BPD online, I thought I had it. When I went to see her, though, and she examined me, she concluded that I do not have BPD, but that I instead have C-PTSD, and was getting the two confused (which, again, is understandable because the two have a lot of symptoms in common). So it makes sense that Saeran’s voice actor would specifically refer to his trauma leading him to grow into the person that he has in Original Story, because that absolutely happens in real life, all the time. And while it’s true that trauma can also result in dissociation that results in DID (in fact, if the research I did provided me with correct information, most—if not all—cases of DID stem from trauma), I don’t believe that Saeran’s voice actor was trying to say that Saeran developed DID from his trauma. Rather, he was referring to the way that Saeran’s trauma shaped his personality as he grew, which is absolutely a descriptor of C-PTSD (again, coming from someone who has it as a result of childhood / adolescent trauma).
Lastly, as I mentioned (and talk about in the post I linked), what Saeran does demonstrate signs and symptoms of in Original Story is C-PTSD, not DID. (I know that his voice actor says BPD, but again, they share a lot in common, and C-PTSD isn’t very widely known, I don’t think.) And he actually displays these symptoms in such a real way that I found myself aching with empathy for him in the Secret Endings. As I’ve mentioned before, the way my C-PTSD has developed is far closer to Saeyoung’s, so I find Saeyoung to be a more relatable character; however, Saeran’s C-PTSD was still achingly real, particularly once we actually get to enter his point of view and we see that he’s actually terrified and vulnerable beneath the defensive aggression he throws up to push others away. We see flashbacks to his childhood, and his musings on his childhood, where he tells us (or thinks about in such a way that it feels like he’s telling us) how he was actually always pessimistic in childhood, and believed that there wasn’t really any hope of escaping their mother’s home, but that Saeyoung’s optimism gave him a few shreds of that hope anyway. We see how he thinks about how he has always loved staring at the sky, and how he just wishes that he could stare at clouds forever. We see him express fear over Saeyoung abandoning him, even as he at the same time wants Saeyoung to leave. We see him awkward, unsure, and vulnerable around the RFA, even as they accept him. We see him still visibly hurting from his trauma, because recovery is not an easy or painless process, but we also see that he is still the same Saeran he always was, ever since childhood, just very, very wounded, but not beyond healing.
What I’m trying to get at here is that I agree with his voice actor. Saeran was a fully realized character in Original Story, and was an extremely believable trauma survivor. Extremely. He’s one of the best written trauma survivors that I’ve seen in recent media. And to see Cheritz strip that away, retcon DID onto him so that he could be more appealing to their audience (because again, while Saeran had his fans before, that was nothing compared to the screeching over “Ray” that began as soon as Another Story released), and then say that he was magically all healed up in less than eleven days is … extremely disappointing to me. No offense to those who like it, but I’m not at all a fan, especially since it seems pretty obvious to me that it was done in order to make him more palatable to players, rather than because it was something that would actually benefit his character to include. (And honestly, Cheritz trying to wink-wink-nudge-nudge the audience by having Saeyoung mention how cliché it is in a chat isn’t cute. You don’t get to escape criticism for bad writing by acknowledging and laughing at the fact that it’s bad writing. It doesn’t work like that.)
So tl;dr, that is why I’m confident that DID was never part of Saeran’s character in Original Story. There were no signs of it, his voice actor clearly had no clue that it was supposed to be a thing (because as I said, if he did, he would have talked about that instead of BPD), and Saeran instead does show practically every single sign and symptom of C-PTSD. Another Story Saeran has DID, but Original Story Saeran doesn’t, and while everyone is entitled to have their own opinions on which portrayal of Saeran they prefer (and I won’t tell anyone otherwise, nor do I want to fight about it), I know which one I’m a fan of, and it’s not the one that Cheritz introduced in September of 2017.

Mystically Destined - The Musical (Chapter 7 - Wicked Feelings)
- Girl! Get up, Mr. Han and The Mystic Boys are on TV!
Lucy erupted through Lizzy’s room like a tornado, her voice too high pinched and fast for so early in the morning. Lizzy heard her turn on the TV, but her response consisted in a very disinterested “Hm-hm.”, followed by a thug on the covers to hide her head.
- What? Now that you’re friends with them you don’t get excited anymore? You’re the worst friend you know? You’re all friendy-friendy with these gorgeous guys and you don’t even take the opportunity to introduce me.
- Luce, please, I barely slept all night, can we talk later?
Lizzy felt her friend sitting on the bed next to her.
- Liz, did something happen last night? Did Jihyun hurt you again? Because, girl I’m telling you, if he did I’ll march down to that pub today and I will actually cut his damn ball-
- Lucy! For the love of God. Nothing happened I was just not sleepy… until now! Now I’m really, really sleepy please!
- Fine. I have an appointment in twenty minutes anyway. But we will talk about this again sleepyhead.
Lucy uncovered Lizzy’s head just enough to plant a small kiss and left her room. The girl kept her eyes closed but she knew she couldn’t drift back to sleep now, not after all the noise and Jihyun talking. Now her thoughts were all filled with her former boyfriend and his fiancé all over again, just like in the night before.
Making peace with the fact that she was wide awake, Lizzy pushed the covers down and rubbed her eyes.
Lizzy ~ “What's the time? Seems it's already morning.”
She looked at the opened up window, the one she forgot to close before laying on the bed.
Lizzy ~ “I see the sky, it's so beautiful and blue.”
Forcing herself up, she walked to her desk were the TV was still on. Lucy was right, the boys were there giving an interview and Jihyun was the one with the close up, speaking with that mature and soft look of his.
Lizzy ~ “The TV's on but the only thing showing is a picture of you.”
Half way across the city, Jihyun was getting out of bed and heading to the kitchen. His face and messed up hair a solid proof of the rough night he had.
Jihyun ~ “Oh, I get up and make myself some coffee.”
He sat by the kitchen island setting the mug down and grabbing one of the newspapers the maid must have left.
Jihyun ~ “I try to read a bit but the story's too thin.”
Placing the newspaper down again he mussed up his already disheveled hair.
Jihyun ~ “I thank the lord above, you're not here to see me, in this shape I'm in.”
Lizzy turned the TV off and moved to the kitchen. Jihyun left his coffee untouched and headed to the room again.
Lizzy & Jihyun ~ “Spending my time. Watching the days go by. Feeling so small, I stare at the wall, hoping that you think of me too. I'm spending my time.”
She took an apple from the fruit bowl only to put it back in its place again. She didn’t really had an appetite.
Lizzy ~ “My *friend keeps telling me, "Hey, life will go on."
He sunk down on the bed, hands holding his head.
Jihyun ~ “Time will make sure I'll get over you, oh!”
They both ran a hand through the hair, pulling it back.
Lizzy & Jihyun ~ “This silly game of love you play, you win only to lose.”
Lizzy ~ “Ohohohhhh.”
Jihyun got up from the bed and moved to the window. He could see the east side of the big park extending right in front of the apartment.
Lizzy walked to the kitchen window. There she could also see a part of the park, only it was the west side of it.
Jihyun ~ “I'm spending my time.”
Lizzy ~ “Spending my time.”
Jihyun ~ “Watching the days go by.”
Lizzy ~ “Feeling so small, I stare at the wall.”
Jihyun pressed his hand against the window’s glass.
Jihyun ~ “Hoping that you think of me too.”
They both walked away from the windows, walking to their respective bathrooms.
Lizzy ~ “I'm spending my time.
Jihyun ~ “Spending my time.”
Looking into the bathroom mirrors all they could see was the face of the other reflected in it.
Lizzy ~ “I can't live without your loooove.”
Jihyun ~ “I'm spending my time,
Lizzy ~ “I'm spending my time, my time, my time.”
Jihyun ~ “The bed is too big without you honey, honey.”
Tugging at her t-shirt’s hem, she pulled it up through her head and tossed it on the floor, her bare skin exposed to the chilly morning temperature giving her goosebumps.
Lizzy ~ “I'm spending my time.”
Jihyun also took his shirt off, exposing his well-defined but slender and not too worked out chest, and hanged it behind the door.
Jihyun ~ “Ohoohohhh.”
They took off their bottoms, Lizzy leaving hers on the floor, Jihyun hanging his.
Lizzy & Jihyun ~ “I'm spending my time.”
They walked into the shower, ready to start the day.
Jumin walked into the kitchen to find Jihyun bent over the glass table, surrounded by scribbled pieces of paper, some intact, some crumpled, hard at work.
- Good morning. You’re up early.
- Good morning, Jumin. I didn’t sleep much.
- Yes, I can tell. You look ghastly.
- Yes, thank you, my friend.
Jumin draw nearer the mint haired man, peeking over his head.
- Are you writing lyrics again?
- Hm-hm.
- That’s good.
The dark haired friend moved away from the table to the counter, opening and closing doors until he finally found a mug.
- So, can you tell me what the problem with your house is again?
- As far as Rika is concerned, it has a severe bug infection.
Jumin chuckled turning the coffee machine on.
- A severe bug infection. So that’s what you call avoiding sleeping with your fiancé.
- Jumin, that sounds a little strange…
- I agree.
He took a sip of his coffee, leaning against the counter, his legs crossed at the ankles.
- Does this not tell you something is not right? How will you marry this woman if you can’t stomach the thought of spending the night with her? I’m not very knowledgeable about that kind of things, but I’m sure this is not a very auspicious way to start.
V sighed and leaned behind in his chair, his head falling back and his eyes closed.
- You’re right. Of course you’re right. But my head is a mess right now, I just need some time away to think and… I don’t know, I just need time.
- Time away, huh.
- Yes. What do you think?
- I think that you should take that time if you feel like you need it.
Jumin set the empty mug on the counter behind him and crossed his arms, watching his friend attentively.
- So, does that mean we should avoid the pub for now?
- No!
He immediately answered, almost jumping from his chair, just as Jumin expected. He raised his brow smirking at V who cleared his throat with a slight tinge of pink in his cheeks.
- I mean, I don’t think that will be necessary.
- I see. You don’t need time away from Lizzy, which means you can think around her, then?
V let out a small chuckle.
- No, not at all.
Jumin shook his head. Of course he couldn’t really understand what his friend was going through, since he had never fallen in love himself – and judging by the effect it had on V, he was sure he would never want to either -, but he knew he had never seen him act like this. And he was hopping V would make up his mind and have some peace and well deserved happiness.
- I need to go to the pub right now, do you want to come?
V glanced up at the clock in the wall. It was still early, she wouldn’t be there yet, if that was what he was thinking about.
- Later. I want to finish these lyrics first.
- Very well.
With a pat on V’s shoulder, Jumin turned and left his apartment. He thought about asking the concierge to call him a cab, but then decided to walk instead. It was a nice morning and he would probably get there faster on foot than by car.
As soon as he could make out the pub’s entrance, he spotted a familiar looking color of girl’s hair, even though she was being partially covered by some guy’s body.
The man was cornering a very nervous and scared Lizzy between the pub’s wall and a protruding stone pillar from the next building, towering over her. Not that he was very tall, he was definitely shorter than Jumin.
Taking large strides Jumin reached the couple, immediately gripping the guy’s shoulder and asking him in his low and calm voice.
- May I help you?
The kid sneered looking back, no doubt ready to insult whoever had the balls to interrupt his playful sexual harassment. But one look into Jumin’s steel gray eyes and the scornful smiled was wiped clear from his features.
- I believe the lady told you to leave her alone. I hope there is no need for me to tell you the same in my own words. I will not sound as kind as her.
Jumin’s monotonic voice sounding cold and hard made the guy tremble in his distasteful choice of clothes.
- N-no, Sir. I'll leave.
The guy scrambled to move away, but instead of allowing him to go, Jumin’s grasp only grew tighter.
- Don't you have something to say first?
- I-I’m sorry, Sir.
- …To the lady…
Jumin’s voice sounded more like a growl, his patience running thinner by the second.
- Oh, hm, yeah s-sorry miss.
As soon as Jumin let go of the kid’s shoulder, he ran away like the devil himself was chasing him.
Lizzy’s entire body seemed to lose its energy and she wobbled a little against the wall. Calmly Jumin grabbed her arm trying to steady and avoid her from falling to the ground.
- Thank you, Jumin. I was really at a tight spot here.
- You should be more careful. This is not a bad street, but there are bad seeds everywhere. Why are you standing at the pub’s door all alone?
- I came in early expecting to do some of the chores that I ended up not taking care of yesterday... But no one’s here yet.
- Vanderwood should get you a key, then.
That was a commendable trait, he thought. Of course he knew she had to be a good kind of person if she was able to hold his friend’s heart so tightly in her hands. Nonetheless, a lot of time had passed and she could have turned out to be someone very different from the girl Jihyun used to know. After all, Jihyun’s feelings were still tied up to the puppy love they once shared. It was a good thing to see for himself that she was perhaps yet deserving of those feelings.
Lost in his thoughts, while the girl was awkwardly trying to respond to his observation, Jumin noticed something dark tinting the back of her pants, right below her right knee. Looking behind her he found that there was a broken piece of what seemed to be a beer bottle sticking out, tucked between the stones of the pillar. She must have hurt herself without realizing it, trying to step away from the guy’s reach.
Now staring at ler leg he could hear the girl fall into a weird silence, and the next thing he was grabbing her arm and pulling her behind.
- Come with me.
- Wha… I…
He opened the pub’s door with his key and pulled her all the way to the bar. Moving to the back room it didn’t take long to find what he was looking for. Vanderwood and his cleaning compulsion could be very handy sometimes.
He walked back to the bar where Lizzy was waiting with a puzzled expression. Cute. He set the first aid kit on the counter and faced her. Her eyes were wide open and she looked frozen to the spot. Was he really that frightening?
- You have blood on your leg.
- I… do?
She tried to look for it, checking her legs nervously.
- May I take a look?
- Oh, but it's nothin-
He effortlessly lifted her by the waist, setting her on the counter. The girl was too stunned to utter a word. Carefully not to hurt her, he rolled up her right pants leg, trying his best not to touch her bare skin. He wasn’t one to try and cop-a-feel. He rolled it all the way to her knee, exposing it. The wound was barely more than a scratch, definitely not that big for the amount of blood that seeped to the fabric.
Actually what really called for his attention more than the wound was the scar she had on her knee. It was strangely fascinating, the – smaller than he thought – trail of rugged and slightly discolored skin that marked half of her knee.
As if a strange force was pulling him, his hand moved on its own in her leg’s direction, hovering above it for a second, ready to touch the scar, until he saw her flinch. He immediately moved his hand away.
- Is this scar from your accident?
- Yes... Jihyun told you about it, did he?
- He did. Actually everyone knows about it by now... I hope you don't mind, they all like and care for you. Jihyun included.
- Yes, I know. Everyone’s been really nice to me.
- Do you mind if I tend to your wound?
- Oh, please you don’t have to trouble yourself…
- It’s no trouble.
He opened the first aid kit box and retrieved the antiseptic and a large band aid from it. He then held her leg gently in a position where he could reach the wound without making her uncomfortable, cleaning it carefully.
He glanced at her, making sure he wasn’t hurting her. Her face was all red which was actually very adorable. He couldn’t remember the last time he had done something like treating someone else’s injuries. Actually he was pretty sure he had never done something of the sort. It was… strange but in a rewarding way.
Still he could feel how uncomfortable she was. She was always very wary of him. As if she felt like she should treat him with some sort of deference. Always polite but unreachable. Or perhaps she just didn’t felt comfortable talking with her ex-lover’s best friend.
Whatever it was it was making Jumin feel eerie about it. He was perfectly aware that his behavior and demeanor was ages away from the others’, but he was not unfriendly or unpleasant. And for some reason he wanted her to enjoy his company too.
- I know I'm his best friend and probably the only one besides you two who knows the whole story, but I want you to know that I don't take sides. It's not in my nature to act based on emotions. So if you ever feel like you need someone to talk... besides those four nut jobs, I hope you... I want you to know that you can rely on me.
Saying she looked surprised was an understatement. Her big turquoise eyes were as big as dinner plates.
- I thank you, Jumin. That is very nice of you.
He placed the band aid on the injury and looked in her eyes.
- You know, you don’t have to act so rigid around me… I know I’m not as funny as the boys but… I wish you would see me as a friend too.
- I would really like it if we could be friends.
She gave him a warm and sweet smile and he responded with a short but also warm one of his own.
He helped her out of the counter and she crouched down pushing the leg’s jeans to its place.
- He is staying at my apartment right now.
Her hands stopped as she looked up at him.
- What?
- Jihyun. He asked to stay with me for a while. I agreed, so he is staying at my apartment for the time being. I don’t know if that gives you any peace of mind or not, but I thought you would be interested to know. So I am telling you… as your friend.
He saw how her entire body relaxed even as she tried to conceal it. She stood up and brushed her jeans obviously trying to feign indifference.
- That is really not any of my business, we are just good friends, but…
Lizzy faced him and reached for his hand, taking it in hers as she squeezed it with a smile. It almost surprised him how small her hand felt in his.
- Thank you, Jumin.
He felt his face heat up a little and was about to answer her when the sound of someone opening the door interrupted their chat.
Vanderwood stopped at the door looking at them.
- Oh. Are we having a busy morning today?
Feeling the brunette’s piercing gaze on them, Jumin felt like he had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar and awkwardly moved away from the girl, sweeping his hands into his pockets.
- Lizzy is here to conclude the chores she left unfinished yesterday. You should be thankful for having such a conscientious and industrious person working for you.
Vanderwood approached them, placed the box on the counter and raised his brow at Jumin.
- Should I, now? And are you here to conscientiously help her?
Jumin felt his face heat up yet again and cleared his throat.
- Have you established a proper work schedule for her? She has been working hard since you hired her, with barely any rest.
- It’s true she has been working hard so far. You should take the day off tomorrow, Lizzy.
He got behind the counter, taking the things he brought out of the box. Lizzy leaned on the counter, clearly excited with the idea.
- But will you be all by yourself? You’ll have a hard time if we have a busy night again.
- I’ll be fine. Besides, I don’t want people to say I’m enslaving you.
Vanderwood gave Jumin a sideways look and smirked.
- Ok, thank you. Then I’ll get to work now.
She tied her hair up in a bun, some strands of coppery blond hair falling on her beautiful slender neck. Jumin found himself captivated by it.
Jumin ~ “The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. It's strange what desire will make foolish people do.”
What was he thinking? He couldn’t actually be ogling the girl, could he? She was V's girl and he should never allow that to slip of his mind.
Jumin ~ “I'd never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you. And I'd never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.”
Jumin teared his eyes away. Vanderwood was cleaning and straightening behind the bar, pretending to be oblivious of Jumin’s interest in his new waitress.
Jumin ~ “No, III don't want to fall in love.”
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
Jumin pushed his silky black hair back with a movement of the hand and discretely glanced at Lizzy again.
Jumin ~ “No, III don't want to fall in love.”
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
Be that as it may, she was a lovely and kind girl, nothing like the types he usually met that would fawn over him claiming adoration and love when all they cared for was his money and fame.
Jumin ~ “With you. With you.“
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
Yes, V was a lucky man, for having someone clearly holding him so dear in her heart. Jumin wasn’t sure he would ever find someone like that for himself. If only Lizzy didn’t already belong to V…
Jumin ~ “What a wicked game you played to make me feel this way. What a wicked thing to do to let me dream of you.”
He slowly walked away from the bar, moving closer to Lizzy who was busy picking up a few bottles and glasses left on the tables, putting them on a tray and wiping the tables with a humid cloth in fluid dancing movements.
Jumin ~ “What a wicked thing to say you never felt this way. What a wicked thing to do to make me dream of you. And III don't want to fall in love.”
He really wanted to touch her fallen strands of hair, slowly sliding his finger through it.
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
Jumin ~ “No, III don't want to fall in love.”
He wouldn’t mind touching the skin of her neck either, to make sure it was as soft as it looked.
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
Jumin ~ “With you.”
Jumin walked until he was right behind her, almost whispering at her ear.
Jumin ~ “The world was on fire and no one could save me but you. It's strange what desire will make foolish people do. I'd never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you. And I'd never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you.”
He backed away from her until he felt the cold of the window’s glass against his back.
Jumin ~ “No, III don't want to fall in love.”
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
Still he couldn’t take his eyes away from her as she waltzed from table to table with light ballet moves, in perfect harmony with his singing.
Jumin ~ “No, III don't want to fall in love.”
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
He rubbed the back of his neck.
Jumin ~ “With you.“
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
He struggled against the need he felt to dance with her while pretending to help her clean. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t.
Jumin ~ “With you.“
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
He leaned his head against the window and closed his eyes, fighting the strange thoughts that were invading his usually so analytical brain.
Jumin ~ “No, IIIIIII…”
Vandy ~ “This girl is only gonna break your heart.”
His heart was feeling funny. Unless he considered the weird feelings that invaded him every time he had an argument with Amanda - which he wasn’t - he had never felt like that before in his life.
Jumin ~ “Nobody loves no one.”
But she was V’s. That was all he needed to know.
This night was another full busy night at the pub. The boys didn’t show up to rehearse their songs, but they did, all of them, decide to grab a drink.
Even Lucy showed up with a few friends, which allowed Lizzy to finally introduce her to the band.
Having all her new and old friends together made Lizzy extremely happy, especially since Lucy refrained from being rude or impolite to Jihyun. In fact Lizzy was sure she was just unable to resist his gentlemanly charm and kind demeanor. And also the fact that he was apparently avoiding sleeping with his fiancé, which Lizzy couldn’t resist to tell her friend all about, seemed to impress her a little, improving her mood towards her friend’s ex-boyfriend.
Only the said fiancé was missing. Thankfully! But no one mentioned the fact, as if she didn’t even existed in their lives.
Lizzy was taking a minute from waitressing, talking with her friends when a feminine voice rose above the pub’s rumble.
- Hey, you bunch of weirdos, did you miss me?
Everyone looked over to the door to find a tall and stylish girl standing there. She had a lovely blue blouse under her light brown leather jacket, a pair of dark denim jeans and brown jackboots. Her lovely ginger hair fell gracefully in waves over her shoulders and her beautifully deep blue eyes were filled with laughter.
- AMANDA!!!!
In one voice all the clients plus Zen, Yoosung and Seven screamed the girl’s name, throwing their arms up in a welcoming reception.
The girl laughed merrily and then lifted her index finger to her lips, hushing everyone to be quiet. Everyone immediately obeyed and a naughty smile appeared in her lips before she pointed at the crowd and winked.
Amanda ~ “Players! Put your pinky rings up to the moon.”
Everyone cheered. With one hand on her waist she moved her hips sensually.
Amanda ~ “Girls, what y'all trying to do? Twenty four karat magic in the air. Head to toe so player. Look out, uh!”
Amanda walked into the room with confident steps.
Amanda ~ “Pop pop, it's show time.”
Everyone ~ “Show time.”
Amanda ~ “Show time.”
Everyone ~ “Show time.”
She stopped right between Zen and Seven.
Amanda ~ “Guess who's back again? Oh they don't know?”
Zen & Seven ~ “Go on tell 'em.”
Amanda ~ “Oh they don't know?”
Zen & Seven ~ “Go on tell 'em.”
She moved in Jumin’s direction, tugging on her jacket’s lapels with a look of defiance in her eyes.
Amanda ~ “I bet they know soon as *I walk in. Wearing Cuban links, designer minks, inglewood's finest shoes.”
Everyone ~ “Whoop, whoop.”
She winked provocatively at him, turning her back and walking away with a thrust of the hip to the side.
Amanda ~ “Don't look too hard might hurt ya'self. Known to give the color red the blues. I'm too hot.”
Zen ~ “Hot damn.”
She moved to Saeran, even though he tried so hard to pass unnoticed, glued to the piano’s side, fanning herself with her hand.
Amanda ~ “Call the police and the fireman, I'm too hot.”
Seven ~ “Hot damn.”
She stroke the boy’s white and pink hair and winked at him.
Amanda ~ “Make a dragon wanna retire, man, I'm too hot.”
Zen & Seven ~ “Hot damn.”
She opened her arms to the crowd who cheered.
Amanda ~ “Say my name you know who I am, I'm too hot.”
Everyone ~ “Hot damn.”
Amanda ~ “Am I bad 'bout that money, break it down.”
She climbed onto an empty chair and from there to the table. Vanderwood gave her the evil eye, but she didn’t seem to care, throwing him a kiss instead.
Amanda ~ “Players only, come on, put your pinky rings up to the moon. Girls, what y'all trying to do? Twenty four karat magic in the air. Head to toe so player. Uh, look out!”
She jumped to the ground and outstretched her arm, hand opened.
Amanda ~ “Stop, wait a minute.
She walked through the crowd, throwing some sick dance moves.
Amanda ~ “Fill my cup, put some liquor in it. Take a sip, sign a check, Julio, get the stretch. Ride to Harlem, Hollywood, Jackson, Mississippi. If we show up, we gon' show out. Smoother than a fresh jar of Skippy.”
Zen and Seven ran to her and she let herself fall into Zen’s arms as if fainting.
Amanda ~ “I'm too hot.”
Zen ~ “Hot damn.”
Seven started to fan her with both his hands.
Amanda ~ “Call the police and the fireman, I'm too hot.”
Seven ~ “Hot damn.”
Zen put her back on the ground and the three of them scooched down smacking the floor with one hand and rising again.
Amanda ~ “Make a dragon wanna retire man, I'm too hot.”
Zen & Seven ~ “Hot damn.”
She pointed at Jihyun with both her index fingers and smiled at him. He smiled back, shaking his head.
Amanda ~ “Say my name you know who I am, I'm too hot.”
Everyone ~ “Hot damn.”
Amanda asked for everyone’s attention with her hands, and then, with a suggestive thrust of their hips, she, Zen and Seven walked to the back of the room.
Amanda ~ “Am I bad 'bout that money. Now, now, now watch me break it down like uh.”
Zen & Seven ~ “Twenty four karat, twenty four karat magic.”
Amanda ~ “What's that sound?”
Zen & Seven ~ “Twenty four karat, twenty four karat magic.”
Amanda ~ “Come on now.”
They lifted her and sat her on top of the piano.
Zen & Seven ~ “Twenty four karat, twenty four karat magic. Don't fight the feeling, invite the feeling, just put your pinky rings up to the moon. Girls, what y'all trying to do?”
Amanda ~ “Tell me what y'all trying to do.”
Everyone ~ “Twenty four karat magic in the air. Head to toe so player.”
She dramatically jumped back to the ground.
Amanda ~ “Uh, look out.”
Everyone started applauding and cheering. Lizzy was amazed at how well-loved and well received Amanda was by every single one in that pub. Her attention was being requested by boys and girls alike, and she treated them all like long lost friends.
Distracted by the scene, suddenly Jumin’s voice reached her from behind.
- Like I said: loud and obnoxious.
She looked back at him and his face was so uncharacteristically annoyed she couldn’t avoid laughing.

What kind of Christmas shoppers are the RFA - bonus minor trio
I was doing this today and during my own trip I thought it would be funny to write. Yay for finally doing the minor trio again.
Feel free to tag yourself.
*I'm V*
Zen
Not really that subtle shopper -
He thinks the entire year of the perfect gift.
He often thinks this would be perfect for you, just to overthink it again.
He really wants to surprise you with the perfect present.
When he finally goes a week before Christmas to buy the picked present, he always finds something else.
There is just so much that Zen would love to buy you.
When he is done he idms really happy and sparkles with excitement.
Zen is giddy for the day that you open it.
He also loves dropping hints, just to entice you more.
You already kinda have an idea what you get, but he has just has so much fun with being your Santa that you play along.
He somehow always gets something you really love, even when it never was on your wishlist.
Jaehee
The super prepared gifter -
Has a list of things that you really want and really need.
Then sets out a budget and looks for deals.
Is ready for Christmas like two months early.
Only spends sometimes a bit more than planned, because she finds some small little extra that just fits perfectly to your presents.
You can try guessing what you get, but she will not tell you.
Jaehee finds it cute when you try to get information.
Sometimes she has to stop you from buying something, then you know, but also does this just to make you guess again.
Finds this more enjoyable than she admits.
Yoosung
Kinda not really prepared at all -
You both try to make wishlists, but it's just hard.
Sometimes you come up with something but when you don't then well it's hard.
You both set a money limit and go shopping.
Yoosung finds something nice for you, even when he is not sure if you really like it.
He ends up asking the RFA for help, but then gets what he thinks will suit best.
Ever spends more than he wants.
Somehow bumps into you, you both try to not give anything away.
A blushing mess, if he bought lingerie.
He hides the presents between his socks.
You always love the way he packs everything, it's so pretty, you feel bad opening it.
You ever love what he buys.
Jumin
Has a ten year plan of gifts -
He is so over prepared it's not even funny.
Has long lists of presents for you.
A extra one just for Christmas, just with the thinks you always wanted, but never even dared to tell anyone.
How did he figured it out ? No one knows
He also spends way too much money on gifts, you try to make some limit, but how can you put a price label on love ? *Well, by not buying a island for once. I mean one can only own so many tropical islands you know Jumin*
He plans the whole day to be your dream Christmas it's so awesome and sweet.
Somehow you never can guess what he bought, he hides it extremely well.
You never figure out his secret stash, you just can wonder how he got everything in the penthouse.
*He is secretly Santa Claus*
Jumin always surprises you and is just so happy when you smile.
707
Has no plan what so ever, but then he kinda does -
He sometimes thinks about what to get you, but he just doesn't know.
It should somehow show what you mean to him, but also something that you want.
When the time comes closer he browses online, but he just can't find anything.
He kinda even start to panic, since it's almost time.
Just a few days before Christmas he has this idea, he works endlessly on it.
Until the last minute before wrapping everything up.
He is so nervous that you dislike it that he also got this think you looked at first a while just a week ago.
He is barely done in time.
You really love what he made for you *there is a good chance it will spit fire, but it's the sweetest thing you have ever seen regardless*
You also love the other gift, you are really happy.
He swears to himself to get better but honestly it's the only way for him.
Minor trio - just in case you want to skip
V
He rather buys the presents together with you -
He has some bad experience with surprise gifts, and he never really knows what he wants.
He also loves to have a shopping date with you.
He just likes picking everything together out with you, especially when it's clothing.
He still gets something small as a surprise for you, mostly jewelry.
Even when it's not a surprise V still wraps your presents.
He does his best, but packing is not his strong point.
You still love it regardless, you also get him a small extra gift.
Both of you are super happy.
Saeran
What is this Christmas you talk about *actually makes his own gifts* -
He never cared about this at all, but now he has to because of his stupid brother, and because of you.
Well now where he has to it he has really no choice.
Saeran spends time thinking, browsing around.
Nothing really seems right, that is until he finds diy projects.
At first he does something easy, finding it kinda fun and relaxing.
He then even finds something that he could do for you.
This will be better than some bought stuff, it also prevents him from going outside, and having to deal with those humans.
He really works hard, even makes something for everyone.
Even for his brother.
When he gives you the present you are so surprised, since you never expected him to just do it.
It's just so sweet that you almost cry, his brother actually does cry.
It's a mess, Saeran hates the fuss.
He will do it again anyways, is secretly extremely happy whenever you use his gift.
Vanderwood
Completely forgets the existence of Christmas -
Aka last minute shopper.
He literally came in just to see that it's Christmas.
He realized that he not got anything, well darn it.
Somehow there are presents for him.
How did this happen ? Vanderwood literally is Christmas blind.
He storms out, pretending to get the presents from the car, comes back 5 hours later.
With thinks he packed in newspaper, pretending it's good for the environment.
Got motor oil, well 707 can use it.
Everyone pretends that they don't know it, you find it nice that he cared so much.
You actually not expected anything in return.
Vanderwood swears he makes it better next year, he is really trying.
Take a look at my Masterlist my requests are open so drop by !

It felt strange to Cerise, being in his weird place with nobody around. He'd been gone less than an hour, and she was already beginning to feel antsy. They had retrieved the rest of her pillows from the trunk of the car, and she spent a lot of her time buried in them and texting her boyfriend. He was so formal when it came to texting, but it was also kind of cute, too. The texts stopped coming at some point, meaning they must have arrived at their destination, and that's when she started to feel alone and just weird without him. Just like he said, he was checking in with her in twelve-hour intervals. It wasn't a lot, but it was at least something.
In the time between, she busied herself with exploring the house and watching TV while updating her blogs. She'd even managed to not burn the kitchen down. Coffee was a no-go, since she couldn't figure out the coffee maker. Obviously, there was only one thing to do there. Cerise took a sad picture with it and posted it, taking an hour or so to watch another show before she felt there was no doubt there many people explaining the mysterious workings of the coffee maker to her. After some reading, she was able to figure it out. Sometimes being cute and popular online had its perks. Cerise posted a new picture with her freshly made cup of coffee and thanked her followers.
While digging through the cabinet, she found a bag of chips she'd never seen before. They looked like they would be a good snack, so she opened a bag and took a bite. Nope. Nuh uh. Cerise found herself promptly spitting it out and taking a gulp of her still hot coffee to eliminate the taste from her mouth. Who could stand to even eat those? So gross. Her mind slipped to Marion. He certainly wouldn’t have eaten those chips. Was he eating right out there on his mission? Cerise did her best not to worry and keep herself occupied, but she couldn’t stop thinking about him like that.
The second day was coming to a close, and there was no sign of either of them. Marion was supposed to have come back…just two days, that had been what he’d said, so anxiety kept building higher by the second. Cerise checked her phone to see if maybe she had missed a text...something. She didn't like it...worrying wasn't going to get her anywhere, so she buried herself in the blankets and pillows of his bed and fell asleep.
Cerise wasn't sure how long she was asleep before a notification woke her up. She rubbed her eyes and sat up as she sleepily unlocked her phone to check it, letting out a sigh of relief when she saw that it was from Vanderwood, but soon her relief turned into concern. `Can't talk am okay Wil take longr than thouht` He was saying that it was going to take longer...and the way he was texting was so unlike him.
Panic began to set in. Did something go wrong? He said he was okay...but was he really? She wouldn't put it past him to tell her he was when he wasn't. Cerise wanted to reply, but it wouldn't have done any good. He’d said he couldn't talk, and she didn't want to possibly compromise him by spamming his phone. That jerk had better come back in one piece.
***
He had spent the entire trip to the mission point texting Cerise, wishing he could be there with her instead of in the car with Zero Seven. It sucked ass that when they got to their location, he couldn’t talk to her much anymore, and maybe he was somewhat distracted by that fact. This was just further proof to him of why agents couldn’t have loved ones, why he couldn’t keep working, why they needed to get this done. At least he was managing to keep up with separating himself from the kid by calling him by his agency name, but he felt like that wasn’t really doing him any good on this mission either. Vanderwood didn’t feel like he was his usual self.
The first and second day went as planned. Every twelve hours he would send Cerise a quick message to let her know that he was okay. By the time Zero Seven felt he’d taken down all of the security cameras and given them the best possible guess on where his brother would be, Vanderwood was ready to get this shit over with.
They had some trouble getting past a few guards, but they slipped easily through the corridors of the building using the blueprint Seven had found. At this point, there wasn’t even a point to calling him Zero Seven…This mission was an emotional one anyway, not even agency regulated. With the security system down, they only had to worry about running into people. There was a strange large room that honestly looked like a church from the outside. Now they just needed to get through that to get toward the main information hub where Seven thought his brother would be.
Everything seemed to be going as it should…right up until they entered the strange church like building. For whatever reason, the people inside had been expecting them. Vanderwood tried not to blanch at the number of people surrounding them. They all seemed like they were in some haze, and the one that was clearly Seven's brother was no better. He’d noticed him almost immediately, the white hair tinted in pink and mint colored eyes not keeping him from being almost the exact likeness of his twin brother.
Brown eyes traveled to the queen bitch as she stood. Really, she was rather pretty, but her heart was clearly ugly. "Can I start my revenge, Savior?" The twin had a weird manic tone to his voice, and Vanderwood furrowed his brows. What the fuck was he talking about? The queen bitch looked over to them, her eyes glassy. "Not until after we give them their cleansing."
He shifted away from her. What the fuck did that even mean? They were at a major disadvantage here. Fuck. Already completely surrounded, and no way to just escape. "You're not giving me shit." Vanderwood didn't like the sound of it, and now two men were laying their hands on Seven. He moved instinctively, knocking the first to the ground before punching the other in the face so hard that the man fell backwards. "Seize him!" The bitch shrieked and then he was on the ground as four men kicked at him. He was lucky that the first one's kick to his jaw didn't snap his neck.
Vanderwood tried to block out the pain as the next started going nuts on his abdomen, one kicking him in the back of his leg and another assaulting his shoulder blade. It hurt like Hell, and he would be damn lucky if he didn't start internally bleeding to death right there on the floor. No, he couldn't think like that. He needed to get back to Cerise. Vanderwood just laid there, waiting for it to stop and thinking of her.
When he came back to reality, they'd ended up in some sort of dungeon, constantly being watched by two guards. Vanderwood ran his hands discreetly over his body, wincing at the pain, but finding his phone and a few other weapons still stashed on him. At least he had his phone. They'd found his taser and gun and stopped at that, it seemed. If he risked a text to Cerise, there was a chance he'd lose his phone completely. Still, he needed to let her know that he wouldn't be home, needed to keep her from doing anything rash. Not that he knew what she would do or could do.
He tucked himself into the corner sending the text as quickly as he could with his left hand, since his right was out of use, thanks to the damage his shoulder blade had taken. `Can't talk am okay Wil take longr than thouht` There wasn't time to fix the typos or punctuation. He stuffed his phone back into his pocket before making his way over to his moping partner, limping a little. "So. What are we gonna do?"
***
It was the fourth day now…When he could manage, he’d sent messages to confirm to Cerise that he was alive, but he was sure that she was frightened. Honestly, he was a little frightened too. There were guards everywhere, and they could easily knock out a few, but then they would be swiftly set upon by another few.
There was simply no way they could get out of this, and every day Seven’s brother would come by to taunt them about this ‘cleansing’, which Vanderwood was pretty certain was drug related, something that gave him a whole different kind of terror. Seven wasn’t as useful as he needed to be either, begging his brother to hear him out every time he was in their cell. Vanderwood had to knock the kid over the head just to get him to pay attention instead of staring off into a corner. They needed to get out of here somehow.
After long drawn out whispers of conversation, Seven and Vanderwood had decided they needed to knock out the guards and call for the help of Seven's friends. Usually they had the agency to rely on, but considering they were about to release the information of the major members of the organization as soon as this mission was over, as well as the fact that this mission was unauthorized, that wasn't an option. Seven had assured Vanderwood that the rich kid could handle sending the right people, and as much as both of them didn't want to involve anyone else, they didn't have a lot of options left open to them.
It was only a matter of minutes after Seven had made the call that they heard helicopters overhead. Damn. The rich dude really was resourceful. After what seemed like hours, they were finally released from their dungeon, giving Vanderwood a massive rush of relief as they were out of that dirty environment and back in control.
Seven hadn’t been able to handle this well. He felt like he’d completely lost himself in all of this. His brother…there was so much wrong with this. V had been supposed to keep Saeran safe…Rika had been…It didn’t make any sense. The others…they were all involved now, and they all needed to get to a hospital. At least with Saeran on his way to the hospital, he’d be able to remove the agency threat by releasing the information on those agents who deserved justice brought down on them…Seven wasn’t even sure he felt like praying, even though it felt like his entire soul was being flushed down a toilet.
Everyone would be getting the, 'cleansing' flushed from their systems, so he needed to go with Saeran, although Vanderwood looked…all sorts of fucked up. “Mary, shouldn’t you come too?” His girlfriend was at the bunker, she was safe, but it seemed like that didn’t matter much to Vanderwood, who only gave him a glare in response to the pet name he hated so much. "I need to get home to Cerise."
And he did. She was probably all sorts of panicked, and he felt absolutely empty without her. Driving hurt like Hell. Any time he moved the muscles black with bruise, it hurt like Hell, and every time he opened his mouth, his jaw clicked painfully. Still, the only thing he could think of was Cerise, holding her close and filling what felt like an empty void in his soul. He didn't care that he was driving, opening his phone to look at the picture they'd taken before he left. It wasn't enough, but at least he could look at her and remember the joy of that moment. His moitié, the other half of his soul.
Once he parked. the thought of having a cigarette wasn't even on his mind, nor was sex, he was tense and agitated, but all he wanted was her in his arms, to bury his face in her hair. He pushed the door open, grunting at the motion before calling out to her, his voice betraying the pain he was in. "Cerise?" Was she in his room? He limped along to find her.
Cerise had been napping when she was woken up by what she could have sworn had been her name being called. She sat up on the bed and listened...could she hear someone? The possibility of an intruder hadn't even crossed her mind; the first thing on her mind was the possibility of it being Vanderwood. Quickly she got up and practically ran for the door, opening it. Her suspicions were confirmed; he was finally home.
A mix of emotions swirled through her when she saw him. Love, adoration, worry, empathy, anger...He’d said he was okay, so why did he look so beaten up? Cerise couldn't stop the tears from forming in her eyes as she ran up to him and threw her arms around him as gently as she could, knowing that he had to be in all sorts of pain. "You jerk...you lied to me...said you were okay..."
Vanderwood could only describe the sight of her as angelic. He wrapped his arms around her, grunting softly at the pain as he pulled her close, nuzzling into her hair and breathing in her heavenly scent. It was like stitching his soul back together. "I'm more than okay now..." That was cheesy, but he was too tired to berate himself. He had lied to her a little...this was incredibly painful. "I missed you so much, shortcake." Pressing kisses to the top of her head, he made a move to get back to his room, keeping an arm around her, not willing to let go quite yet.
If it wouldn't have hurt so much, he would have flopped onto his bed, but instead he sat slowly, the pain in his leg reminding him that maybe he should just be laying down. Honestly, he should get some pain-relieving patches on his bruises just to get towards functioning again, but even the thought of getting up again was painful. "Mon amour...Would you do me a favor and get the first aid kit from the bathroom?" So far, she’d been silently watching him. His jaw was clicking again, and he winced, going to pull off his shirt, revealing the mass of bruising on his abdomen and right shoulder blade.
Cerise hadn't been able to do much to support him on his way back to his room. All she could think was that he was really beat up. It was a scary sight. He had asked for the first aid kit, but she didn't move upon his request, and as he pulled his shirt off to reveal even heavier injuries, she found herself getting even more angry and upset. Marion most definitely wasn't okay. Cerise frowned at him and sat on the edge of the bed with her back to him, her arms crossed. "...If you're so okay, you can get them yourself." Her voice held a bit of bitterness. What he needed was a doctor, not a first aid kit.
She was pissed at him. Rightfully so, he deserved it. Vanderwood was about to gather up the strength to get up and retrieve the first aid kit when she went off to get it for him after all. Cerise figured she might as well give him what he wanted, because he wasn’t about to go to a doctor, and she wasn’t about to let him hurt himself more with getting up, even if a small part of her thought he deserved it.
Vanderwood wasn’t really sure how to feel at the moment, even though she was angry at him, he couldn’t help feeling so refreshed simply being around her. Cerise had wordlessly gotten up to fetch the first aid kit and bring it over, and now she was rifling through it instead of handing it to him. “Do you want me to-“ Vanderwood didn’t get to finish his sentence before she gave him a glare. Apparently, Cerise was not in the mood to let him take care of it. She had some idea of what to do and grabbed some pain relievers from the kit, preparing a glass of water and bringing that to him. "Open."
He did as she requested, opening his mouth for the pills and water and drinking it down. God, it felt like forever since he'd had something to drink. Vanderwood probably hadn't eaten in over 24 hours either, and he certainly smelled terrible after four days of not showering and sleeping in a car and on a cold dungeon floor.
His skin started to crawl, but he had other pressing matters to attend to. He reached for the kit to grab those little patches, not wanting to bother her any more than he already had. Cerise just glared at him. Vanderwood started with popping one on his jaw, a couple on his abdomen and then contorting himself to attempt to place some properly on his shoulder blade. Which, really, he shouldn't be attempting to do by himself, because that was just hurting him more, but he wasn't about to ask her any more favors. He'd pissed her off enough already.
Cerise had been watching silently as he attempted to patch himself up and kinda fail. What did he think he was doing? Really? Marion was an idiot, pretending that he was ‘okay’ and trying to take care of himself. It was only making her madder. Sighing, she grabbed a patch from him and placed it properly on his shoulder blade herself, making him snort softly that she was still bothering to take care of him despite how angry she was. God, he loved this woman.
She disappeared into the other room, and while she was gone, he pulled his pants down just enough to pop a patch on the back of his upper thigh. She didn’t need to see everything. It was about fifteen minutes before she reappeared with what looked like soup in a cup. The cup of soup was a welcome meal, even if he would never eat that normally.
His heart was doing that melty thing that it always did when she took care of him, too, and Vanderwood thought it was oddly romantic…in his own special way. Cerise had just figured that the soup would be easier on him, since his jaw had looked pretty bad. "I'm not really good at cooking, but this should be tolerable. " Marion just nodded as Cerise sat on the bedside beside him and offered to help him down it by placing the rim of the cup by his mouth.
Fucking Hell, she was amazingly kind, kinder than he deserved, and her help was more than he’d ever gotten from anyone other than maybe an agency nurse, and she got paid for that shit anyway. Vanderwood let her help him drink the soup down, feeling his stomach protest somewhat at finally getting food again, but knowing that it would settle before long.
As he finished off the soup, he reached for her, taking her hand and pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles. She deserved an apology, and he meant to give it to her. "I'm sorry...I should have told you. I didn't have much time to explain, and I didn't want you to worry...but I shouldn't have lied to you."
She enjoyed the feeling of his lips on her skin, but as much as she enjoyed it, she was still irritated with him. "Shut up, don't talk." Cerise was happy that he was apologizing, she just didn't feel like hearing it at the moment. He was just going to have to put up with that. She got up, taking the emptied cup with her to put away and then came back to clean up all the packaging mess from the first aid kit.
He did as she asked, clamping his mouth shut and watching her move about the room cleaning up. Vanderwood was happy she was picking up for him because otherwise it would have just driven him crazy. It was difficult to understand for him, the fact that his apology didn’t mean anything, but then he’d never been good with interpersonal things. Honestly, he couldn’t even remember the last time he’d apologized for something. Cerise was pissed…he deserved that…and it wasn’t like someone had to accept an apology even if it was given. Perhaps she just wasn’t ready for it? Hell if he knew, but he laid back on the bed as best as he could, letting her do the cleaning, despite itching to do so himself.
Shit, he needed a shower too. Vanderwood tried not to think about it. Tomorrow…tomorrow after he took her back home like he’d promised, at least not failing her there, he could clean, and he could shower in the morning. For now, just focusing on the fact that he would get to clean up soon was keeping him from wanting to scrape his skin off.
Cerise left the actual kit out in case he needed it, watching him as he was laying there in thought before settling on the bed beside him and getting as close to him as she could without hurting him. Lying beside him, she reached out to stroke his hair comfortingly. She was mad, yeah...but that didn't mean that she didn't care or didn't love him, and she was sure that he knew that. Right now, no matter how much of a jerk he was, she wanted to be close…to appreciate that he was back at all.
As she played with his hair, Vanderwood closed his eyes, enjoying the feeling of it. Cerise was angry, but the care was there. It was only too obvious how much she cared. No one ever cared for him like that in his life, and it made him smile, despite all the pain he was in. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, feeling like he needed it after being away for so long, thinking maybe she needed it, too. Now he simply laid in silence, lightly playing with her hair, happy to be back with the love of his life.
Cerise felt the silence was much needed. She didn't want to snap at him too much, just needing some time to cool down before she was ready for normal conversation with him. The jerk had lied to her and was in so much pain. It hurt, made her chest feel tight. She welcomed his arms and gently snuggled into him, hoping she wasn't hurting him too badly. After so many days away from him and despite being upset, she was happy to be in his arms and beside him again. There was no way she could fall asleep after that, so she just laid there awake, enjoying the feeling of having her hair played with as she returned the favor
Vanderwood's thoughts drifted around as he felt himself relaxing into her. He hadn't even needed sex to get to this point and was honestly pretty proud of himself, knowing that it was all thanks to Cerise that he could relax like a normal human being. The two times they'd had sex had only served to prove to him even more. While he was still impatient as ever, his relationship with sex had changed into something else entirely.
He remembered the last time they’d had sex, making a sharp intake of breath as it hit him full force that he’d nearly forgotten to put on a condom. It was the first time that had ever happened to him, and knowing the way it felt being with her, seemed to him that he could easily forget again. Vanderwood internally slapped himself, not wanting to keep his thoughts drifting in that direction.
His arms tightened around her. Now wasn't the time to think about it. They'd talk about it tomorrow when he went with her to her apartment. Vanderwood felt incredibly stupid on many levels, but again, it wasn't the time. Why was he even thinking about it right now? He was exhausted, she was still angry, and he was passing out even with that moment of panic. After pressing a soft kiss to her forehead and nuzzling into her wealth of hair, he took some time to just breathe in her scent, not even realizing that he was sinking into sleep.
Cerise had felt his hold on her tighten, heard his sharp intake of breath, but now he was relaxing again. She didn't know what he was thinking, but it didn't feel like it was really the time to ask. He needed to rest, be able to recover. and she wasn't going to keep him up any longer than he needed to be. He was out shortly after kissing her forehead, easy to notice with the way he went lax. The room was cold, but he was warm, and alive. Such a jerk…Marion had terrified her, but she’d clung to the fact that he was okay only to now find out that he really wasn’t. That was what made her so mad. She sighed again and snuggled into him more, hoping not to wake him, but he was so exhausted that he didn’t even stir in his sleep.
She wasn't sure when she had fallen asleep, opening her eyes slowly and pulling back from him. For the first time since meeting him, she’d woken up before he did. Marion was out cold and was probably going to stay that way for a while, despite how light of a sleeper he was. Even a secret agent couldn’t train himself out of sleep when he was exhausted. Cerise did her best not to wake him as she carefully moved away from him to hop off the bed, heading to the kitchen to fix a glass of water to set by the bed in case he woke up. After grabbing some fresh clothes, she closed herself in the bathroom to take a quick shower, not wanting to use too much of the warm water. He was probably going to want to use the shower when he woke up.
The sound of the shower turning on was what finally woke him. He opened his eyes slowly and rolled over, groaning softly at how sore he felt. There was a glass of water on the table. A smile spread across his face as he realized Cerise must have put it there. Vanderwood drank it quickly before forcing himself out of bed. Gross, he felt rather gross in general, but Cerise was in the shower for now, and the best he could do was change clothes.
Energy wasn't exactly something he had a lot of at the moment, but he needed to eat, so he made his way to the kitchen, making some toast and grabbing some juice. Vanderwood set some out for her as well, not sure if she had eaten yet but guessing that she hadn’t. When she was done with her shower they'd just switch places, and then he could get delightfully clean. After that, back to her place. The thought of taking her home wasn’t one he was a fan of either, but she did need to be in her own place.
His thoughts stilled for a moment as he remembered what had panicked him last night. Fuck...They'd need to talk about that. It wasn’t a major emergency, but the fact that it could have been was enough to tell him they needed to talk sooner rather than later. It was strange the way that after coming back from something so dangerous and stressful, a person slipped into their normal life as though nothing had happened. Before he’d just continued on with training, so agency life was what had felt ‘normal.’ Vanderwood snorted at his own musings as he bit into a piece of toast.
***
Cerise finished her shower quickly, getting dressed as quickly as she could, too. Her hair was still wet, but she could dry it later, wanting to check on him first. She wrung out any excess water and threw a towel over her head before heading into his room. Her eyes scanned the room, finding he wasn't in bed anymore. "Marion?" Cerise called out and headed out into the kitchen, finding him there. She noted that he looked a little better, rested at least. "Morning. Shower's all yours." It would be silly to lie, she was still a little upset, but she had had same time to cool down. Sleep had definitely helped.
Vanderwood heard his name and perked up a little as she entered the room. "Morning..." His eyes scanned hers, checking to see if she was still angry, and it looked like she was, at least a little. "Thanks...I’ll be right back.” It would have been a lie if he said he wasn’t absolutely excited at the thought of taking a shower and washing off the dirt and grime. He chugged down the rest of his juice before wiping his mouth and giving the top of her head a quick kiss. Vanderwood limped as quickly as he could into his shower.
Cerise gave him a non-committal 'Hnn' before she sat down and nibbled on what he’d set out for her. Even though he was injured, he was still thinking about her, making her breakfast. God, she was being a brat. Briefly she wondered where the red head was, but since Vanderwood wasn't broken up about anything, she assumed he was okay. As much as they seemed to not get along, she could tell they cared about each other. There was no way Vanderwood would have let anything happen to him.
Vanderwood felt like he’d been in a dream-like state as he showered. It felt so good to have the hot water over his sore muscles, that and washing off all the grime. He tried not to think too much about the conversations they needed to have as he dried off and got dressed, packing up a little bag for himself before heading into the kitchen. "Want me to help you pack up your things, mon amour?" He was taking her home today...It felt a little weird, not that he was going to let her stay there alone tonight. The last time he saw her in that apartment, she was being attacked.
She had been a little lost in thought when he came back into the room and inquired about helping her. "Huh, what...?" She stared confused for a moment while her brain caught up. Right. The plan had been to take her back to her place when he got back. It had slipped her mind as a possibility, since he’d been so injured, but clearly, he was still sticking to the plan. That…probably shouldn’t have surprised her, considering how OCD he was. "Oh! No, I have it. " For one thing, she wasn’t about to let him hurt himself helping her, but for another, Cerise had packed up most of her things already while waiting for his return, besides the things she knew she was going to immediately need.
He didn’t really have much of a chance to respond before she was moving the dishes to the sink and washing them. It was oddly homey, and he found himself wanting this every day, the time together at least. Vanderwood lightly touched the bruise on his jaw as she ran off to grab the rest of her things, feeling just a light twinge of pain. The formerly black bruises were now yellow and orange in color, so it wouldn't be long before they were gone completely. It wasn’t even that long before she appeared again and stood in front of the garage door. “Ready when you are, Marion."
It felt awkward to him, the way he was stiff completely unrelated to his pain as he helped her to the care. Vanderwood couldn’t quite place his finger on it, maybe all of the things that they needed to talk about were just…picking at him harder than he thought. As he was about to help her into the car, he felt like he needed to say at least something. "Hey...shortcake..." She paused and looked up into his eyes. Maybe she was ready to hear it now? He gently slid his fingers along her jawline, urging her to lock her eyes with his. "I really am sorry." It wasn't like him to apologize to anyone. Usually, he had nothing to be sorry for, but with Cerise, he was as vulnerable as he could ever be. "I love you, Cerise."
His eyes were so genuine as he apologized to her, and she couldn’t help the way her heart responded or the relief she felt now as the anger had washed off of her. It's not like she could stay mad at him forever. Cerise caught his hand and nuzzled into it before bringing it to her lips and kissing his knuckles like he often did for her. "I know...I was....I was just scared. I want you to be honest with me, even if the truth hurts." Cerise moved to embrace him gently before she got ready to get into the car. "I love you too, Marion."
His face lit up with blush at her simple little actions, those small moments feeling like they mattered more to him than anything else. "I'll try my best. I'm not really used to...sharing my world." He lightly stroked her hair before taking her hand to help her into the car as he liked to do. Maybe what he'd just said didn't make much sense, but hopefully she understood.
It's not that he really made a habit of lying, but it was far more often that he just lied by omission, because he had to, as much as he hated lies. Vanderwood drove in silence for a while, biting his tongue. There was still that other thing they needed to talk about. For the time being she was blissfully unaware, but it wouldn't be long before she'd notice how agitated he was, if she hadn't already.
Cerise was lost in her own thoughts as he drove. She hoped that eventually Vanderwood would open up to her more, maybe trust her. Yeah, she would worry, but at least she would have a clear idea of what was going on and what to expect. It was a complete shock to her when she’s first seen him when he came back, and she didn't want that to happen again.
The silence was starting to become almost deafening. Cerise felt like there was something between them, something unsaid, and she wanted to talk, but decided to busy herself with her phone for comfort. The air seemed so strange. Did he want to talk too? She peeked over at him more than once, waiting for him to speak up.
Maybe it wasn’t the right time at all, but the thought was starting to become impossible to ignore, so Vanderwood decided to just get it out there. "I uh...I have to tell you something.” He needed to tell her something? She tensed up a bit. What in the world was he talking about? “We kind of might have a problem...Well, I don't think we have a problem...but the other night I got really distracted, and...I was so caught up in you I just, I uh...For the first time ever, I did something majorly stupid. "
She was giving him her full attention, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion as Vanderwood was getting frustrated with himself. His words were having trouble working. Talking to Cerise about these types of matters was constantly flustering. It would be so much simpler if he could just come out and say it. "I almost forgot to wear a condom." Oh great. Well, at least now it was said. He coughed softly, going back to biting his tongue as he watched for her reaction from his periphery vision.
Oh. Cerise was at a loss for words before she could gather her composure. It's not like she remembered either..."I...uhh..." What was the correct response? She took in a deep breath. "I won't get pregnant will I...?" Cerise internally screamed at herself a little. Obviously, he’d only almost forgotten, but now her mind was going down another path. "I think...I'm too young." It was a little like having cold water dumped on her all at once. What would she even do if she got pregnant? She felt herself start to panic a little but tried to talk herself down from it. Nothing had happened, it could have happened, but it hadn’t.
"I…No, but…We should get you on some birth control in the future, just in case…I forget." Vanderwood couldn't stop biting his tongue, her comment that she was too young just making him think more about it. Cerise felt she was too young…but he wasn’t sure no matter how old she was if he could ever be a father. "I can't..." He sighed heavily. She wanted his honesty, and she deserved it. "I can't be a father. After Caleb...I mean...He died in my bathroom. I knew something was up, and I left him at my place alone. Had I been a better parental figure than I was a brother, maybe none of that would have happened."
Vanderwood felt like his heart was crushing in on itself as he pushed his bangs back with one hand, keeping the other on the steering wheel. "I'm sorry. Really, I never thought I'd have anyone in my life again, and I certainly never thought I'd have a girlfriend or a family. I don't know." That was a heavy conversation to just lay on her. It hadn’t been meant to be that kind of conversation, just a suggestion to solve any potential forgetfulness.
He didn't like it, the pain that he felt, and he liked even less that now she was stuck feeling it too. It wasn't like he would run away if it ever happened. Vanderwood could never leave Cerise, but the thought of being a parent terrified him. Then again...No...Not now, and maybe not ever. His jaw was starting to get sore with how much he was biting his tongue. "I might not ever be able to give you that..."
Marion was clearly hurting so badly, and the air in the car was only feeling heavier, but at least he was telling her. That was all she could ask for right now. "Marion..." She listened to him talk, concern apparent in her eyes. "You were so young...a child can't raise another child. You did the best you knew how." Cerise put a hand on his leg and squeezed gently. "I can't say I understand how you feel, and I'm not going to pretend that I do. You've been through so much, and I've been through so little..."
Her heart ached for him. What happened with his brother was beyond his control, and Cerise wished that he could realize that, as hard as it was. Marion would probably beat himself up over it for the rest of his life. "I honestly....I never thought about it...but..." She paused, trying to search for the right words, "I want you to know that...all I need from you is yourself. That's all I want. You don't have to give me anything. "
Vanderwood listened, not really able to bring himself to talk with the knot that seemed to have formed in his throat. What she was saying...It wasn't wrong, but he would always feel like he could have done more, that he could have done something. His foot had gone off the gas, letting the car slow on its own as the weight of her words sank into him. 'All I need from you is yourself. That's all I want.' He pulled over, and Cerise was about to ask him why, thinking that maybe she had said something wrong before he was leaning over to slide his hand along her cheek and kiss her deeply.
He needed this right now. It was like his heart couldn't decide whether to disintegrate or to swell with affection, so it was doing both and he didn't know what else to do except this. She made the pain bearable when any other time he would have been slamming his hand through something or finding some random woman to just bury the pain. Cerise made him see things from a totally different point of view, with a new outlook on life.
She relaxed into his kiss. It felt like it had been forever since they'd last kissed, and she’d missed it, missed him. Cerise returned his kiss with fervor, letting him know how much she cared and how much she had missed him. Maybe one day he would be able to see himself through her eyes and stop blaming himself, even though it was a lot to hope for. Whether he could or not, she would stay with him every step of the way.
Vanderwood felt choked up, something now burning at his eyes. Was he crying? He was honestly crying. Vanderwood kissed her just a little longer, having missed the feeling of her lips on his. This wasn’t like when he sought physical release to make the pain go away, the pain was still there…just it was somehow a lot lighter.
It was so different, letting himself actually bear the pain, but it also felt good underneath it all. Vanderwood touched his cheek as he pulled away from her, fingers coming away wet, snorting softly at himself. Really, this just wasn't like him. He hadn't cried for so long it seemed, and now, here he was, crying in front of his girlfriend. It wasn't that he felt emasculated; it was just funny to him that after all these years she was what it took to break through his barriers. Seemingly, his whole life had been leading him towards her, somehow.
He pressed another kiss to her forehead, thumb stroking her cheek gently. "I love you. You're all I need." Cerise was surprised to see that he was crying when he had pulled away. If he was crying then..."I..." She started to sniffle as tears welled up in her eyes. "...I love you too." It wasn't that she was sad, she was actually really happy. Cerise just happened to be a sympathy crier. At least...that's how it was at first.
Once she started to cry just because he was crying, she started to cry harder as all the emotions from the past few days came flooding to her. Her entire composure broke, and she wasn't able to hold it in. Cerise didn't care if Marion thought she was a baby or if she was being silly, she just wanted to be close to him. After flinging her seatbelt off she leaned over to throw her arms around his torso and bury her face into him, sobbing. Really...he was the one who had all these problems and emotions to deal with and here she was making a scene and being a baby.
Vanderwood pulled her close despite the pain as she’d launched herself at him, nuzzling into her in turn as he gently stroked her hair, muttering softly into her ear. "Je'taime...Everything's okay." He continued to mutter sweet words, not really sure of what else to do. This was another of those new situations where he berated himself for not watching more romance movies, so he'd have known what to do. Vanderwood wasn't entirely sure why she was crying. Hell, he wasn't sure why he was crying, but right now he just wanted to hold her close and never let go.
After today, he was going to ask her to marry him. He’d already wanted to, had already thought about it before he left for his mission, had wanted that domestic bliss of watching her do the dishes just today…Yeah…Tomorrow he'd get a ring, and then he'd find the right time. It seemed like he held her there like that for hours as their tears dried up, but he still didn't let her go for a while longer, needing her close to him. "Je'taime, Cerise...Let's get you home, so I can hold you even tighter." That sounded cheesy but right somehow.
She didn't know how long they were there, and she didn't care. Marion didn't judge her, he just held her and told her that he loved her. It did wonders for calming her, and she could feel her tears lessen until she wasn't crying anymore. "...Je'taime aussi..." Cerise murmured into him and pulled back to put her seat belt back on, settling back down into her own seat. "That sounds good..." She was looking forward to potential cuddles, like she couldn't get enough of just having his arms around her, sharing their warmth. It was a beautiful feeling that she didn't think she could get tired of ever. Cerise leaned against the window and closed her eyes. The trip wouldn't be long, but a little relaxation never hurt anyone, and she even opted to ignore her rapidly buzzing phone.

Um... I know you said NSFW requests but I dont really have any on my mind ehehe... BUT! Do you think you could do the RFA and an MC who loves housecleaning and house-work? If not thats okay I just thought it would be nice >w
This is so friggin cute! Thanks for sending this one in, I had so much fun writing it. Honestly, I love washing dishes (mindless work so I can think over plot lines) and vacuuming carpet flooring. Something about a spotless, clear carpet and those light/dark patterns that the vacuum makes going back and forth…mostly its just an illusion of productivity lol wow I’m such a weirdo ok lets move on
Pupper Yoosung:
If he’s not raging at LOLOL, then he’s busy dealing everything university has to throw at him or at least he should be
As a uni student, the poor boy has little to no time to keep his dorm room clean I relate so hard pls help so isn’t he damn lucky to have you
Poor baby didn’t even realize how much of a mess he made until he looked away from the computer screen and saw how different it all looked wait is that the actual colour of the kitchen counter??
He’ll protest when he sees you picking up after him or cooking him dinner
“MC, no you can’t clean my mess I’m a big boy”
But low-key he loves being pampered. It just makes him feel all warm inside that you love him enough to want to take care of him
Baehee Jaehee:
She’s a pretty clean woman to begin with - a clean environment makes for a productive mind and all that - which is surprising given how busy she always is
Poor baby doesn’t even have time to eat decent meals or catch her breath I’m lookin’ at you mista trustfund kid
So can you imagine the utter relief on her face when she finally drags her ass home from work late at night only to find a hot homemade meal prepared just for her!?
She feels kind of bad that you’re alway fussing over her health and making sure she doesn’t need to worry about housework after spending obscene hours at work
Ofc you reassure her that you actually like cooking and keeping your shared apartment clean - it makes you feel useful and honestly a clean living space just makes you feel 10x less stressed
And it hasn’t escaped your notice how OCDish Jaehee is about cleanliness and the kind
The cute coffee bean that she is she’s always giving you handy lil tips just like that whole duct tape and cat hair thing - tbh it probably comes in handy when you shed a ton of hair around the house
Lovely Zen:
Ok this idiot - the workaholic with only beer and water in his fridge - probs isn’t a clean guy lets be honest
Dating you doesn’t change his crazy work schedule (and multiple workouts per day -_-) so he makes it home barely in time for dinner, if at all
At first, he isn’t used to eating such wholesome meals but after a stern glare on your part and a “aww, Jagi, you’re so cute when you’re trying to act all tough” from him (that got him a night on the couch for sure) he quietly adheres to your domestic side
His fav part is coming home early sometimes and just leaning against the doorway to watch as you vacuum the living room, your iPod blasting, and singing at the top of your lungs
Honestly, these little wifey quirks of yours turn him the hell on u n l e a s h t h e b e a s t
Since he ran away from home, its been entirely too long since he’s really been a part of the family home lifestyle and so he really cherishes this side of you that allows him to have that in his life again
Daddy Jumin:
Wanting to cook him homemade meals instead of the chef? He can understand that. In fact, he loves it. Loves coming home to the smell of something you’ve made with your own hands, just for him. It’s just another piece of you that ties you to him as his wife possessive fucker
Getting down and dirty on the roof top garden to grow your fav flowers and herbs? He can deal with that. What Mrs. Jumin Han wants, Mrs. Jumin Han gets, yeah?
But then he came home to surprise you for lunch and found you washing the dishes….um what?
this poor little confused cinnamon roll
“But MC, what about the maid? You don’t need to be doing this. You’ll damage your soft skin and….”
You tried to explain to him how therapeutic it was for you to clean the penthouse. Things like washing dishes allowed you to just let your mind wander and it made you feel productive. Besides, being cooped up in the penthouse was boring AF. I mean, there’s only so much time you can spend being pampered and laying around on every piece of furniture before you start going bonkers
He was annoyed that you would do this when he was at work so he wouldn’t know about it and really wanted to put his foot down on this no wife of Jumin Han would be getting her hands dirty with manual labour but you wouldn’t hear of it. You sort of came to a compromise where you could clean the kitchen after using it, but the maid would most def be cleaning the rest of the penthouse.
GOD Seven:
Oh lord this hot mess lives in an even bigger mess
Like it gives you actual anxiety seeing the state of the bunker Vanderwood relates so hard omfg
So while your precious little tomato head is working obsessively, you’re tackling the Loch Ness monster that is the dirty laundry and chip bags amassing on the dirty floor.
His jaw actually hit the ground when he finally crawled out of his office that he’d been holed in for hours on end
“MC, when did we get a new carpet in the bedroom?”
h o l y f u c k b o i
“no, Saeyoung, that’s the actual colour of your floor”
That was actually your first task when you came to the bunker and you kept it up ever since, all the while slowly training your husband to stop being such a piece of shit Vanderwood’s words not urs
Like Saeyoung felt guilty enough to make a conscious effort to clean up after himself. He felt like enough of a failure already and hating himself for making his wife clean up after his stupid ass was wholly unnecessary
But he also loved that he had someone by his side who loved him and stuck by him despite all his messy habits cut the bby some slack he deserves to be shown all the love in the universe so he took all your scoldings quietly and just gazed at you with hearts in his eyes, still having a hard time believing you were real

To be frank, the only thing that scares me about a Vanderwood route is that they might make Saeyoung more obnoxious or exaggerate his negative character traits in order to make Vanderwood look good (Like Zen in Jumin's route and Jumin in Jaehee's route)
I mean, knowing Cheritz and their writing, that’s not outside the realm of possibility. However, I don’t think it’s needed, particularly since Vanderwood taking care of Saeyoung the way he does (and indeed, as I realized tonight, playing a rather big role in developing Saeyoung’s view of his life as an agent, albeit that’s not a very positive thing, but it’s something they both need to heal from) is one of the things that adds a sympathetic side to his character.
What I mean by that is, Vanderwood and Saeyoung have been together for a long time. I realized tonight when I double-checked that there’s actually a good possibility that it could have been longer than four years. I think I assumed they met when Saeyoung was eighteen because Vanderwood mentions that Saeyoung was already in university. However:
Saeyoung seems to have been out of university for some time by the start of the game, and he’s twenty-two. Twenty-two is when most people are finishing up their senior year. For Saeyoung to already have his degree (and from an Ivy League, no less!!), that means that he probably graduated early . . . which would mean that he entered university earlier than most as well.
Saeyoung is a literal genius, which backs up point one.
So it’s possible that Saeyoung was even younger when they met, particularly since Vanderwood says that he was a new agent when he was assigned to be Saeyoung’s manager. (He says, specifically, “a new agent, too,” meaning “also,” which would imply that this is when Saeyoung started . . . but Saeyoung left for the agency when he was twelve. I highly doubt he entered university when he was twelve (they might have bumped him up to high school, though), so perhaps they met when Saeyoung was around sixteen? I’m not sure.) This is relevant, because it means that even though Saeyoung has considered V to be his father ever since he agreed to leave for the agency, it’s Vanderwood that has actually been physically present to look after him.
And this is a big deal, because we know---we see---that Vanderwood really does take care of him, and feels responsibility for him. All these years later, Vanderwood still remembers that Saeyoung was sleeping less than three hours per night during his university days. He says that Saeyoung was “even worse” when he was “an OCD perfectionist” who completed all of his university coursework and his agency coursework while not sleeping hardly at all (and presumably not eating a lot, either). By saying that, Vanderwood is telling us (without spelling it out) that it bothered him to see Saeyoung, a teenager, so robotic and dedicated to his work that he wasn’t taking care of himself. Additionally, he was paying close enough attention to know Saeyoung’s hobbies (“he always read a lot”), and enough attention to pinpoint exactly when Saeyoung started to loosen up (when he received the picture book). He didn’t just manage Saeyoung’s work; he also paid attention to Saeyoung as a person.
And we see this in the present day. Vanderwood cuts Saeyoung’s hair. He might complain about it, but he still does clean Saeyoung’s house so that Saeyoung isn’t living among germs and filth. He feeds him, too; we know that Saeyoung tries to just live off Honey Buddha Chips and Ph.D Pepper (his depression meals), but Vanderwood flat out says that he feeds Saeyoung, which means that the rare times we see Saeyoung mention that he’s eating a burger or those fish-shaped breads, who do you think brought those to him? Vanderwood, no doubt. It was Vanderwood, doing his damnedest to make sure Saeyoung ate something at least halfway decent. And when Vanderwood makes an empty threat of throwing Saeyoung under the agency bus so that he can save himself, and Saeyoung says, “yeah, go ahead,” Vanderwood gets very upset and says, “Excuse me?!” The minute Saeyoung says something remotely suicidal, Vanderwood gets upset. He was making an empty threat, he was teasing, but Saeyoung responded with what sounded like suicidal seriousness and Vanderwood himself got seriously upset in .01 seconds flat. Even before it’s spelled out to us that Vanderwood doesn’t want to see Saeyoung die by him saying that it would “ruin his life” to see just that in Secret Ending 1, we see Vanderwood grow incredibly upset in Saeyoung’s Route when Saeyoung tells Vanderwood to go ahead, turn him in, and get him killed. The idea of Saeyoung dying is one that Vanderwood is not even remotely comfortable with, not even as a joke.
And it’s not just that. Though Vanderwood has to unleash tough love on Saeyoung and remind him of the very real and present danger they are in to try to get him to work, he is lenient with him. He tells Saeyoung to take a break while he (Vanderwood) makes coffee for him, despite how Saeyoung had already blown off an entire day’s worth of work. Right before Saeyoung leaves to go save MC, Vanderwood is on the phone with their boss, and he advocates on Saeyoung’s behalf, lying about Saeyoung having been sick, asking for at least one more day, et cetera. Though he does agree to take Saeyoung in for conditioning as soon as the mission is over (which he himself says is “real torture”), the way that he reminded their boss what a skilled agent Saeyoung is makes it sound an awful lot like he was opting for the torture /conditioning over death. Like, “he’ll be tortured and reprogrammed, but at least he won’t be dead.” Which is not great, obviously, but Vanderwood has also been pretty screwed by the agency. The philosophies that Vanderwood has helped drill into his head (not deserving of friends and family, agents are ticking time bombs, we can’t have people close to us or they’ll be caught in the blast radius, this job is filthy, et cetera) are ones that Vanderwood also applies to himself. He’s not just putting Saeyoung down by saying those things. He’s offering what is, in his mind, tough love, because he feels that, as agents, neither of them have the “luxury” of friends, family, et cetera. He believes that about himself, too. And on that note, he actually allows Saeyoung more of a luxury than what he has, given that he knows about RFA and has chosen to be Saeyoung’s secret keeper with regards to it, because he feels bad given that Saeyoung became an agent at such a young age. He knows that Saeyoung is happier (comparatively) with RFA, and so he keeps it a secret for Saeyoung’s sake.
What I’m trying to get at here is that, particularly given how little we know about Vanderwood, the amount to which he cares about and cares for Saeyoung is a very humanizing aspect of his character. It’s part of what makes him so sympathetic, so endearing. Whereas he could have just been a cold agency taskmaster who tortures Saeyoung and doesn’t give a damn about him (and in that way would be a two-dimensional antagonist a la Echo Girl or Sarah Choi), Vanderwood is instead someone who earnestly and sincerely cares about Saeyoung. He does have to act as an antagonist in Saeyoung’s Route, yes, but he’s a reluctant antagonist. The fact that he’s a reluctant antagonist is even spelled out when he flat out says, “Are you really going to make me the bad guy?” while trying to get Saeyoung to do his work. He doesn’t want to be rough with Saeyoung, and he certainly doesn’t want to hurt him. Hell, he’s been doing his level best to help this kid with severe chronic depression, anxiety, and C-PTSD for the entire duration of the time they’ve known each other. He cleans his house, feeds him halfway decent meals, tries to encourage him, is bothered when he doesn’t sleep, cuts his hair, immediately comes down hard on spoken suicidal ideation, does everything he can to keep Saeyoung alive in the Secret Endings, et cetera. He cares, he very clearly cares, and this is one of his most shining character traits.
And I point all of this out to say that they don’t need to twist or ruin Saeyoung’s character in order to make Vanderwood look sympathetic, because Vanderwood already looks sympathetic just given what we’ve seen of him in Saeyoung’s Route / the Secret Endings---and, to be honest, V’s Route as well, given that Saeyoung was able to call him out to the cabin and get him to help a lot, even though Vanderwood didn’t know any of these people and felt very locked out of the loop.
Vanderwood isn’t a likable character because he’s constantly hassled and harried by an annoying 707. Vanderwood is a likable character because he genuinely cares about and for someone who has no one else to take care of him. Saeyoung left for the agency when he was about twelve; he was a child. Vanderwood recognized how young he was (hell, that’s why Vanderwood was assigned to him), and felt for him. And if you think about it, Saeyoung is the closest Vanderwood has to friends or family. Vanderwood reminds Saeyoung over and over that, as agents, they are not allowed to have friends or family. He keeps quiet about Saeyoung with the RFA because he feels bad for him, having been an agent for so long, but given that Vanderwood does firmly believe in the “no friends or family” rule, we can rest assured that he’s not keeping quiet about any friends or family himself. This means that Saeyoung is the closest he has to either. And this means that portraying Saeyoung as some terrible person who only brings Vanderwood grief would severely diminish part of Vanderwood’s character, because we can see very plainly that he does genuinely care about Saeyoung, enough to say that it would ruin his life to see Saeyoung die, and that he enjoys bantering and snarking with him, and that Saeyoung is probably the closest thing to family that Vanderwood has (and definitely his only friend). Showing Saeyoung as an antagonist would run contrary to all of that. It would ruin what is probably the biggest likability point that Vanderwood has at the moment. Cheritz could do it, god knows they’ve proven they can be illogical before (and tbh they already kind of ruined their relationship in Another Story by fucking up why and when they met), but they’d have no reason to considering the fact that “Vanderwood really cares about Saeyoung” is one of the main reasons why fans have to like him at the moment.
So in all honesty, I’m not too worried about that. If anything, I feel that we’d just get to see a lot more of the hardships that Saeyoung has gone through in the agency. We’d get a much closer look at his depression (both in how he was as an “OCD perfectionist,” and how he is now on his worse days), and at how Vanderwood takes care of him. We’d probably also get backstory on the family and/or friends that Vanderwood left behind when he became an agent, which is backstory that I would not mind learning.
All in all, I think more good than harm would come from this, though I guess we’d have to wait and see.

After their most recent encounter with Marie, Vanderwood and Cerise had decided to take another day before heading away from the hotel, making a shopping trip to a store for Cerise to purchase some pillows that would make her more comfortable while staying at the bunker. (Hidden deleted chapter for patrons.) It was for the better that she’d be there until Vanderwood could leave the agency. She needed to be kept safe; that was his highest priority. Cerise was simply playing around with her phone during the ride, only putting it away once Vanderwood pulled into Seven’s garage. He locked the security system using the in-car controls before turning to her. “Alright, shortcake…Let’s get you inside.”
Honestly, he was feeling just a little anxious. Vanderwood had always been on Seven’s case that relationships weren’t safe for them, that they didn’t deserve it. Not that he thought Seven would complain, more like he had a feeling the redhead would somehow take revenge on him. Seven would definitely be weird and annoying, that was inevitable, and he rolled his shoulders back, already dreading the idiot’s behavior.
Cerise was just ready to stretch her legs again, eager to get out of the car. Once Marion helped her out of the car, she grabbed her cherry pillow from the back and held it with both arms as they approached who she assumed was Seven. He looked nice enough, and he was already smiling. Of course, Marion had warned her that Seven was a troll, but maybe he was exaggerating. Sometimes it seemed like Marion saw the worst in everything.
Seven was standing in the doorway to the house with a huge grin on his face as Vanderwood approached, standing close to Cerise. Something about the grin on the redhead's face made the brunet feel on edge. "Ooo, I read in her file that she was short, but she is absolutely adorable, Mary." And Seven was already pissing him off. Cerise shuffled, her nose scrunching up in displeasure. The first thing out of his mouth was commenting on her height?
Vanderwood was about to open his mouth to give the redheaded idiot a piece of his mind when Seven started to reach for Cerise's waist like he was going to pick her up. Cerise stepped back, tucking herself a little behind him as Vanderwood felt something ugly stirring in his chest. Not only was Seven about to put his hand over her still healing wound, but the redhead was also about to touch his girlfriend. Vanderwood snatched Seven's arm roughly. "Pick her up, and I will break your arm."
Seven’s eyes widened somewhat at the tight grip. Holy...Vanderwood was mad. The redhead had seen him mad plenty of times, maybe even gotten tased on one or two occasions, but this was different. He frowned and pulled his arm away from Vanderwood's grip, who let go, seemingly a little confused as well at why his reaction had been so violent so quickly. If it had been anyone else, Seven had a feeling his arm would already be broken. Well, no matter, just don’t touch the little lady, and he could still have fun. The redhead grinned just as wide as before at Cerise. “As you wish, Mary dearest. I'm Seven Oh Seven, good to meet you, Lady Vandy. I happen to enjoy your blog as of late. I might have a picture or two of my maid that you can add."
She was glad that Vanderwood had succeeded in keeping his partner from picking her up, still sensitive where her wound was and not really interested in being treated like a child. Cerise chuckled nervously as the man introduced himself. "...Lady Vandy?" Apparently, he knew about her blog...not like it was hard to find it. Cerise glanced over towards her boyfriend who seemed to be in a state of irritation. She slipped her hand into his, giving it a little squeeze. Obviously Vanderwood's anger didn't deter his partner, and somehow, that was unnerving to her. "Uhh...sure, but I don’t think I know your maid?"
Vanderwood was already bristling, clearly not wanting Seven to show off his pictures, but when the girl took his hand, he seemed to get somewhat distracted. It was actually kind of sweet seeing the big guy with his girlfriend. He'd always thought Vanderwood wouldn't be able to find anyone to grab his attention, for longer than a few hours anyway. Of course, it also stung. Seven found what he was looking for and with an exaggerated bow, held out his phone, showing Cerise the photo of Vanderwood and he dressed as maids. Seven was hanging off of Vanderwood's shoulder in the photo, who looked very unamused.
Cerise peeked at the phone with her eyes wide, although as soon as Marion saw that photo, he snatched the redhead's phone. "No. Absolutely not." She had still managed to get a good look though, and now her mind was racing. Was that...was he...? Crossdressing, really? Just what sort of relationship did those two even have? She was horribly, horribly confused. Was this another part of his past that she didn't know about? Cerise kept nervously glancing between Vanderwood and Seven even as Vanderwood handed the phone back to Seven, presumably after deleting the image. Was there more about him that she didn’t know?
Deleting the photo was probably pretty useless, since Seven likely had a million copies, but it at least felt somewhat therapeutic, even with his eyebrow twitching. Cerise’s hand slipped out of his, causing him to furrow his brows and watch her from the corner of his eyes. She seemed…shocked and lost in thought. Well, could he expect anything less when Seven had just shown her a picture like that? He’d have to deal with that later, once the redhead wasn’t around. Vanderwood slipped his hand behind Cerise's back after giving Seven a little shove, getting a laugh from the redhead even as Vanderwood guided Cerise past him, grumbling. "Lay off, will you?"
He led his girlfriend to the couch, but Seven still seemed to be hovering. That wasn’t completely unusual. Vanderwood sighed and rubbed his face. “I’ll be right back, shortcake.” Cerise made a noncommittal noise. She didn't even take out her phone when she sat on the couch as she tried to wrap her head around the situation and make sense of it.
Vanderwood broached the topic of leaving the agency, disbanding it even, but it seemed like Seven wasn’t entirely on board. It didn’t make sense to him. In all the time Vanderwood had known the redhead, Seven had always seemed like he hated what he had to do and the workload. Although, once the kid mentioned his twin brother, Vanderwood felt a tight pang in his chest. He hadn’t known. Well, he’d suspected there was someone that the redhead was protecting, but it made even more sense to him now. "Right, yeah, just give me a day to rest up then...I’ll help you find your brother and then we’ll get out of this." The redhead seemed far more on board with that. It would mean field work, potential danger, being away from Cerise, but that was what it was going to have to take.
Vanderwood rejoined Cerise on the couch as Seven shot him a peace sign and left the house, with a grin that once again had Vanderwood questioning if the redhead was up to something. Cerise was still out of it, only shifting slightly as Marion sat next to her. She hadn’t been able to hear what he and his partner had been talking about, but considering that she didn’t understand what was really going on between the two of them, she wasn’t sure if she even wanted to know.
"So, that's Seven. I took a bullet for that asshole." God, he felt awkward. Vanderwood rubbed at the back of his head. He hadn't addressed the photo yet, but with Cerise sitting here looking like she was going through the shock of her life, he was going to have to deal with it right now. "That photo...that was just us doing undercover work, and in no way do I do that normally, nor did I enjoy it in any capacity." He wasn’t sure if she just had an issue with crossdressing or if she was having weird visions of him walking around in women’s clothing, but he wanted to nip anything like that in the bud right away.
Cerise had been about to ask him about the photo, but he had beaten her to it. His explanation made her sigh in relief. Okay, so that was one less thing she had to worry about...It wouldn't have made her love him any less, she would have just had...a bit of concern. Knowing now that he wasn’t a crossdresser or secretly wanted to be a woman or something…It made the photo a lot more hilarious. He had looked really irritated in it too, like he wanted to kill somebody. "I think..." She started to laugh a little now, the hilarity of the moment really hitting her, "...That you might...pfft...look better in a skirt than I do."
He had been waiting for her reaction, watching her, but when she finally did react, he wasn’t sure how to process that either. Was she laughing at him? And then what she'd said actually started to make sense in his brain. "C'mon, Cerise. I’m too masculine for that bullshit…” His voice kind of trailed off a little before he coughed and the rest of what he was thinking made its appearance. "Besides...no one could ever be better looking than you." It was really true, no one had ever affected him in the way that she did. Her cuteness had been the first thing to strike him when he'd met her, but that had quickly transformed into the knowledge that he found her strikingly beautiful. Vanderwood rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. He needed a change of subject. Now that he wasn’t on a mission anymore and cigarettes were back on the table he also felt like he was getting a craving. "Do you uh...want to watch a movie or something?"
Cerise was still giggling, loving the way he was reacting. Maybe she would have to ask Seven if he had any backups of the photo later. She hoped he did, because she now found that she needed it. Grinning at the compliment, she gave Marion a kiss on the cheek before settling back down on the couch. "A movie sounds great. Let's watch something you like." Cerise was a little excited to see the type of thing he would watch on his own. So far, they'd only watched things together that she enjoyed.
"Um..." Something he liked to watch? Mostly all he'd ever watched was action movies and laughing at the crazy shit they did in the secret agent ones. Sometimes he'd complain about them totally flubbing something up...but if she wanted to watch something he wanted to watch..."I guess that'll be a secret agent movie then." The nerd in him had considered grabbing Niron Man, but he didn’t quite want to reveal just how much of a dweeb he was right now. He smiled sheepishly, getting up from the couch to grab a movie he'd watched several times and starting it up. Cerise just giggled at his selection as he worked on getting things ready. Did he like to watch secret agent movies ironically or something?
Vanderwood stretched and looked at the couch as the opening previews started to play. After being cramped up in the car all day, he really needed to stretch out. Maybe Cerise wouldn't mind. His face filled with a little bit of color. "Shortcake, you think I could lay across the couch and you could uh...lay on my chest maybe?" Why was he being so awkward to ask such a simple little question? She tilted her head a bit at his request before smiling widely. "I'd love to do that." Cerise wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to snuggle up to him, no matter the reason, and laying on his chest while watching a movie sounded cozy and actually sorta romantic. She shifted out of the way to let him lay down, grabbing her cherry pillow from the cushion where she’d placed it and hugging it tight.
He stretched out onto the couch, making a soft groan of relief at getting to lay down and relax. Vanderwood was really getting into this lazy day stuff. He furrowed his brows, eyes scanning the room. It didn’t look like a pigsty…Had the redhead cleaned up on his account or for Cerise? Or was the redhead really planning something?
Once Cerise had settled down onto Vanderwood’s chest, he reached for the remote and started the movie. She could probably hear his heart skipping just a little as she'd first laid down, something he was starting to get used to when it came to her. Vanderwood stroked her hair and back gently, knowing she liked that from the time they'd spent watching TV in the hotel room. Cerise could hear the quickening of his heartbeat as she snuggled the cherry pillow trapped between them. She found the way his heart changed pace as she nuzzled him endearing as well as amusing. This man wasn't playing when he said he had feelings for her, and it made her own heart beat faster. Cerise couldn't help but to close her eyes despite the movie playing as he stroked her hair. She was a victim to the calming sound of his heartbeat. The way he was gently stroking her hair and then her back...who could blame her for having heavy eyelids?
He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head as he hit play on the main menu. This was so incredibly pleasant. His brows furrowed as a soft hissing got his attention. Vanderwood looked up, seeing the emergency sprinkler directly above him opening up. Shit fuck, and the next moment the sprinkler started pouring on them. He was pretty stuck with her on top of him, not wanting to move too fast and knock her off him to get hurt.
Cerise was just able to drift off when she was beginning to get soaked with water, causing her to shriek and jump up. Her first instinct was to protect her phone, so she shoved it in between the cushion and arm of the couch. It was already too late for the pillow she was cuddling in her arms. She looked up to see that all of the water was coming from the sprinkler above the couch and moved away from it to try and get out of range of the thing. "How do you turn this thing off!?"
Vanderwood was about to get more soaked than he already was. "Fucking...Just a second." He pushed himself up and hopped onto the couch, reaching up to the sprinkler and manually placing it into the locked position, stopping the downpour. Everything was sopping wet, from his hair, to his clothes, to his girlfriend. His jacket and gloves would need some tending to after this bullshit. Grumbling, he hopped off the couch, pulling off the items and hanging them over a nearby chair to dry. This had to be Seven. One single sprinkler turns on and it happens to be the one right above them? Vanderwood turned to check on his girlfriend. "You alright, Cerise? Besides being wet, I mean." His eyebrow twitched just a little. The redhead was going to get it. He didn't know how yet, but he'd figure it out.
Cerise nodded and looked to the now soaked couch where her phone was hidden, approaching slowly just in case the sprinkler decided to come back on. She reached for her phone, scrunching her eyes closed tight before trying to press the home button and then opening her eyes to see if it had turned on. Thankfully it still worked and wasn't damaged…but her poor pillow. Cerise squished it a little and water dripped onto the floor. She stared at it blankly for a moment before tears formed in her eyes. Once a soft, fluffy pillow got wet, it would never be the same again. She hadn't even gotten to properly cuddle it yet! It probably seemed silly to cry over a pillow but dammit! It had so much cuddling potential! Cerise kind of crouched with the wet pillow and held it to her chest, not caring because she was rather soaked herself. One last cuddle for her fallen comrade.
He watched rather helplessly as tears formed in her eyes. Holy shit, his girlfriend was crying! What was he supposed to do? He felt completely unprepared. Oh, that redhead was so dead. Vanderwood just went with his gut instinct and crouched down next to her, pulling her into his arms with gentle care and kissing the top of her head. He didn't say anything, not really one hundred percent positive on why she was crying, but he supposed that didn't really matter at the moment. What was important was that he got her to feel better, and this seemed like a normal way to do that...right?
Cerise leaned into him and sniffled a little. "The pillow you got me is ruined...you're not supposed to get them wet..." Vanderwood held her a little tighter as she sniffled. "I'm sorry, shortcake..." It seemed a rather silly thing to be crying over to him, he’d been concerned that it was something horrible. Well, maybe this was horrible in her mind. The harder Cerise squeezed the pillow, the more water dripped from it. It was like her pillow was crying too.
After a few minutes of silence, she straightened herself up and did her best to wring out the rest of the water from the pillow. She sighed and looked at it with a sad expression before turning back to Vanderwood who was starting to stand up now too. "At least I still have it so...that's a plus." Cerise shivered a little, reminding her that she was indeed still wet, and the room was a little chilly. "We should probably go get some dry clothes. "They were pretty damn soaked, and Vanderwood wasn’t about to disagree with her, definitely not when she’d just been crying. "Let me just go grab your stuff out of the car.”
He was thinking about how he would get back at Seven as he headed out to the car, grabbing her bag from the back. His eyebrow twitched as he heard something else, faint thanks to his hearing damage but... Was that barking? Oh no. Oh no, no. Vanderwood broke out in a run back to the living room.
Cerise had taken out her phone to write a status update while she waited when she heard shuffling. She looked around confused until there was barking. What looked like a tiny robotic dog had wandered into the living room and was barking at her. It was actually kinda cute, and she kinda wanted to...pet it? She had made up her mind to do so when Vanderwood came barreling back into the living room, yelling not to touch it.
"Cerise! Whatever you do don't touch that dog!" What the Hell was the redhead thinking? That stupid fire-breathing guard dog could really hurt her. Of course, Seven was probably sending it out for him, but really. What the fuck? The dog was standing in the living room, facing the doorway as Vanderwood came in, and then it's mouth opened, an orange glow visible. Oh shit. He ducked out of the way and ran to pick up Cerise, carrying her bridal style.
She had turned to shoot him a puzzled look before the dog's mouth began to glow, and then he was picking her up and running off with her. It was hard for her mind to keep up. The dog started to spew flames from its mouth as it chased him. What was even happening...? "The dog breathes fire!?" She asked him incredulously. Was this normal for this place? It wasn't long before the lights went out too, the only light coming from the glow of the robot dog's flames. Now Cerise was panicking and terrified. It was like something out of a horror movie.
Holy Lord, this wasn't good. He couldn't remember the damn command for the mutt. Had Seven been banking on him remembering? Jesus. "It's okay, just...gotta remember what ‘heel’ is in Arabic." Vanderwood was going to strangle Seven. It was dark too, and he was having to think hard to figure out where his own room was. Cerise was in danger in his own damn house. He started randomly spewing the Arabic words he could remember as the dog continued to bark away. At least it was keeping its fireballs restricted to the floor. Vanderwood got to his doorway after what felt like running in circles for ages, placing Cerise and her bag inside. "Change here, I'll take care of the mutt." He closed the door as fast as he could to keep that dog out, running back into the living room to find his Arabic dictionary in his jacket.
Cerise stumbled around in the room a bit in the dark, her heart beating wildly and trying to calm down. She was worried but was sure that Vanderwood could handle it...being an actual secret agent and all. Still...that dog was scary. What dog breathes fire anyways!? She dug around in her bag to try and find some clothes to change into. She couldn't really see, so she grabbed whatever. Matching was the least of her problems at the moment, and she just wanted to be out of her wet clothes. Cerise peeled off her clothes and replaced them with the dry ones she had randomly chosen. Just as suddenly as the lights had turned off, they turned back on. Did that mean Vanderwood had successfully defeated the scary fire breathing robot dog? She wanted to take a peek outside of the dorm but decided against it, because who knew after that what she would find?
Vanderwood had been stumbling around trying to find his jacket when the redhead finally decided to show a little mercy by turning the lights back on. He was probably laughing his ass off as he watched from the CCTV's. After grabbing his jacket and rummaging around in the pockets, he was finally able to find the dictionary. It was soaked, but somehow, he found the right page. Vanderwood gave the command and the dog stopped completely, sitting back on its haunches and shutting down.
Such a quick fix for something so disastrous. He breathed a sigh of relief and focused on trying to catch his breath. There were scorch marks all over the floor. So that was why the house had been clean, why he’d used the sprinkler on the couch. Seven had been trying to keep from starting an actual fire or damaging anything important. The brunet’s eyebrow was twitching like mad, his skin starting to crawl as he looked at the mess. Vanderwood needed to clean…but then Cerise was probably worried. As much as he couldn’t stand the mess, his OCD making him itch like mad, Vanderwood started to make his way back to his room. She was far more important than the mess.
"Everything's fine now, shortcake!" Vanderwood called out to her before he returned to his room, pausing before entering, not wanting to walk in on her changing like he had that one time. He knocked and waited for her okay before opening the door and going to her, taking her face in his hands. "Are you alright?" His brown eyes searched her gold ones as he ran his hands over her, looking for any injuries just in case, too focused on the task at hand to be flustered by it.
"I'm fine...are you?" He just nodded as he continued what he was doing. Cerise didn't really care that he was dripping some water on her as he checked her over, she was just happy that he was able to handle the danger and get back seemingly without any injuries. Having him worry over her like this was sweet...even if having his hands run over her was a little flustering. She knew his mind wasn't anywhere near that, so she didn't make a fuss over it. "You should probably get changed yourself. I'll wait outside the door." It shouldn't be a problem if the threat of the dog was taken care of. Cerise gave him a quick squeeze before she headed out the door, closing it behind her and waiting for him to change.
Vanderwood had been about to tell her that he had an attached bathroom, but she was already headed out of the door, and he was getting hit with a Hell of a realization. Only then did he realize that he'd just touched her practically everywhere. His face turned all sorts of red as he grabbed some clothes to change into, getting out of his soaked pants as well as his shoes and everything else. He could walk around the house barefoot just fine, so Vanderwood threw on just a t-shirt and some pants, praying to whatever douchebag of a God existed that Seven was done with his trolling game before joining Cerise just outside his room in the hallway.
When he finally reappeared from his room, she turned around to face him and couldn't help but to blush a little. He was wearing normal clothes...just a t-shirt and pants, but somehow, he made it look extremely attractive. She was pulled from her thoughts when he started getting close to her and her heart felt like it was beating out of her chest. Normally she wasn't this hyper aware of him or this flustered at the mere sight of him...What was going on? He was giving her a sheepish smile, trying not to think about the fact he'd just had his hands all over her.
His thoughts slipped to Seven, anger and tenseness slipping into him, worse the more he thought about it. He decided to focus on Cerise, knowing she had that amazing ability to calm him down...when she wasn't irritating him too. A small snort escaped him at the thought. She was his everything, and he was really going to give that redhead some good payback, although he wasn't positive on how yet. Vanderwood bent his head to give Cerise a kiss. Cerise melted right into him, her hands going to his chest as he pulled her closer. Was her heartbeat even wilder than normal? She didn’t have time to dwell on it.
The floor was moving out from under them, and Vanderwood broke their kiss just before it sped up even more. Fuck. How had he forgotten about the damn hallway conveyor belt? They tumbled, causing Cerise to shriek in surprise. Thankfully, she had fallen on top of him. Vanderwood grunted as he hit the floor, quick to wrap his arms around her protectively. Then the conveyor belt just stopped moving, having deposited them at the end of the hallway.
Once the dumb conveyor belt stopped moving, she attempted to check on him, because he was the one who had the pleasure of falling right onto the floor with extra weight on him. "Marion! Ohmygosh Are you okay?" Luckily, her wound hadn't been disturbed much. It ached a little, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.
Vanderwood’s mind was turning toward revenge. Seven was so dead. He probably wouldn't be home until late that night, but that meant he wasn't going to get much sleep…Perfect. It really wasn't time to think about that right now with her on top of him, though, and now she was fussing over him. He couldn't help but blush at how she was checking on him, using his real name. It just sounded so nice coming from her. "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, shortcake." His hand found her cheek, thumb stroking gently. "I'm fine." Actually, he was surprised that he wasn't so tense that he couldn't think, surprised at just how little effort it was taking to push irritation away in favor of caring for her and enjoying her presence. It seemed like the more he had gotten used to not using sex as a stress-reliever, the easier it was to relax normally. That felt so fucking good. No pun intended.
Cerise sighed in relief and smiled as he responded to her. The guy took bullets and being cut like a champ, of course a fall wouldn't hurt him...but she still couldn't help but to worry. Cerise nuzzled into his hand before realizing that maybe she should get off of him, so he could get up. She laughed nervously and stood up, blushing something fierce again. "I uh...thanks for breaking my fall by the way..."
That blush on her face was supremely adorable, and he immediately responded without even thinking. "I'll always be there to break your fall...Just like you were when I fell for you." Cheesy. He was going to have to get used to the fact that he sounded like an utter idiot when he was hitting on her. All other women, he was charming and sultry, but no, he was just a cheesy idiot with her. Vanderwood got up from the floor, briefly rubbing the back of his head where he'd whacked it, for once not rubbing it because he felt awkward. He was so sweet, and it was just making her blush worse. She turned around, so he couldn't see her, rubbing at her cheeks...which was probably doing absolutely nothing.
He looked up at the CCTV directly above them and flipped it off. It was best to get the two of them out of any main areas of the house where Seven could enjoy watching his trolling through CCTV feeds. "Let's head to my room...It's safer in there." Cerise nodded her head in agreement, hoping that maybe magically her blush would go down, as she turned to follow him back to his room. They were both stepping carefully, so as to avoid the conveyor belt. Yeah...his room was probably safer. She didn't quite know what was going on, but she definitely didn't want any more surprises from the weird house.
Vanderwood was busy hating himself for having moved into Seven’s house, but it had become impossible not to with the way the redhead had started slacking when that ‘MC’ joined the RFA or whatever stupid charity group it was that the idiot had joined despite the security risk. Could he really judge the redhead for the security risk anymore now that he had his own? It was better not to think about it. Honestly, it all felt a little like déjà vu, as though maybe he’d been through this route of things several times before. His scar from Drawl started to ache as well as his head, so he just shook his head and opened his door, holding it open to let Cerise inside. At least they’d be safer in here.

Choi family post-canon headcanons
For the purposes of this post, “post-canon” refers to everything after the Secret Endings of Original Story. Another Story has absolutely no bearing here, neither do the other routes. Additionally, my MC was always MC 4, so in the event that she is mentioned, please keep that in mind as well, thanks. :)
As mentioned in another post of mine, both Choi twins end up attending therapy after the Secret Endings. Saeran is the first to go, after he takes some time to get acclimated to living in society / away from Mint Eye (and fully detoxes the drug he was addicted to for so long). Saeyoung attends some of these sessions with him, with his permission; the presence of a therapist helps them work through some lingering issues between them, as well as gives both of them the time and opportunity to find ways to work through their shared trauma of their childhood together. (Plus, it helps Saeyoung continue to help Saeran at home.) Additionally, however, Saeyoung also attends some individual sessions, so that he can get help working through some of his unique traumas, as well as his chronic severe depression. Both boys attend therapy for years, and it helps a great deal.
Saeran never attended school of any kind due to the abuse and torture he endured for pretty much his entire life. As a result, not only does he not have any degrees, but his knowledge is very spotty. He knows how to hack thanks to Rika making him learn, and obviously he can talk, read, and write . . . but that’s about it. Because of this, once Saeran has had some time to get acclimated and heal a bit, Saeyoung begins teaching him what he needs to know in order to get a high school equivalency degree. Again, Saeran has a good grasp of computers and mathematics, but Saeyoung teaches him history, geography, various sciences, some literature, some languages (particularly English, since that would be a useful one to know), et cetera. Saeran completes a high school equivalency correspondence course thanks to Saeyoung’s dedicated and patient teaching, and not only is Saeyoung quite proud of him, but for the first time in his life, Saeran feels as though he’s accomplished something real.
On that note, he probably got it under an alias. This might be where the name “Ray” comes into play in Original Story, because remember, the Saeran of Original Story / Secret Endings does not have DID / multiple identities. Getting a degree with the name Choi Saeran might be dangerous, if their father is still keeping an eye out for them, so he might get it under the name Choi Ray instead. To be fair, Saeyoung’s degrees probably have the name Choi Luciel on them, so it isn’t that farfetched. If nothing else, Saeyoung has demonstrated marked hypervigilance, so I could see him prodding Saeran to use an alias just in case. Better safe than sorry, and all that.
Also, this doesn’t have anything to do with the degree, but Saeyoung also teaches Saeran how to drive. He’s a bit nervous at first, letting Saeran drive one of his baby cars as practice, but he’s right there in the passenger seat and can quickly grab the wheel if anything goes wrong. Saeran does end up getting his license, but in all honesty he doesn’t like driving very much. It’s more knowledge for emergencies rather than anything else, and everyone in the family is happy with this arrangement.
Schooling doesn’t have to end there, though. By this point Saeran has been free for a couple years, so Saeyoung suggests that, since Saeran has a high school degree now, he should try university. Saeran doesn’t know what he wants to pursue in university, but Saeyoung assures him that this is fine. He can take a lot of different courses to see what he likes. Saeran is hesitant, but ultimately he agrees.
He attends a small university, where the classes are smaller and more personalized, rather than being giant lecture halls. MC, who due to her own circumstances had also never been to university, enrolls as well and signs up for all the same gen ed courses he’s in. She says that she does need the classes anyway, they’re general education requirements, and she wants to do this for herself, but Saeran gets the feeling that she’s really doing it because she wants to be there to give him support, so that he has at least one person in the class that he knows and is comfortable with. MC won’t admit it, and neither will Saeyoung, but he’s not wrong.
That said, MC goes to university so that she can get into graphic and digital design. It’s something that’s always been interested in, and not only does she want to learn more about computers (Saeran is teaching her some hacking on the side, since she wants to be helpful in the event of another crisis, and Saeyoung heavily looks down on hacking and grows upset when he remembers the things he used to do, so MC doesn’t want to trouble him by asking him to show her), but she wants to be able to create art and marketing materials for Saeyoung’s toy shop. So eventually she does have to take some classes separately from Saeran, but at first they’re in all the same ones, and they often pass each other notes during class / help each other out with homework and the like.
Saeran tests the waters with many different potential majors, trying out all sorts of things, and not hesitating to drop classes if they end up not impressing him. It takes him a bit longer than usual to graduate because of this (he graduates after MC, even though they entered at the same time), but eventually he ends up enrolling in a culinary course, and he really likes it. He pursues more culinary classes and ends up majoring in the school’s culinary program, with Saeyoung and MC both happily taste testing his assignments for him at home. Cooking calms him, it rewards him with delicious food at the end of it, and it also makes others happy with him. In his mind, it’s perfect.
When Saeran graduates, Saeyoung makes sure everyone from the RFA (which includes Vanderwood by this point) is there to cheer for him. And they are---they do. Everyone cheers for him, so that when Saeran gets his diploma, he looks out into the crowd and sees that he has a whole family there cheering for him, but none louder than his brother. Saeyoung is on his feet as he applauds---he even jumps once or twice, and he definitely shouts, “Yeah, that’s my brother!!” when Saeran gets his diploma. Saeran is a little embarrassed by this, especially since Saeyoung definitely has some overjoyed / happy tears in his eyes, but he can’t deny that it makes him feel loved and truly supported, too. Afterward there’s a huge party, and though Saeran offers to cook, everyone says no, they’re going out to eat, they can’t make him cook for his own celebratory dinner, that would be so rude!!
Saeyoung, as he states in Secret Ending 2, quits hacking after Saeran is rescued. He no longer works for the agency, he no longer does any freelance hacking jobs. However, he also didn’t do anything else during the first couple years, because he wanted to help Saeran get his high school equivalency degree, wanted to make sure Saeran got into a good university, et cetera. And this is fine; Saeyoung had tons of money saved up, as he tells Vanderwood. He doesn’t need to work right away. However, once Saeran enters university, Saeyoung starts work on opening up his own toy shop. It takes about a year (opening a new business is hard; there is so much work that goes into it, and plus, he has to make all the toys!), but he succeeds. It’s a small little shop, and unlike his dream, it isn’t built like an actual bunker (i.e., customers can get in without saying a passcode in Arabic :P). But it’s his, and it’s something he’s always dreamed of doing, and MC helps him run it (+ creates all of the graphic design that goes into promoting it). It’s a dream come true for him.
Saeran, meanwhile, has his culinary degree . . . but the restaurant business is highkey stressful, and not exactly the best for someone with his background. Saeyoung is still rich, so Saeran doesn’t really have to get a job, but he still does want to help out . . . and so what Saeran does is he opens up his own mini business, selling cakes, pastries, and other baked goods. It’s not a bakery / store, like Saeyoung’s, but once per week Saeran will make a bunch of different desserts, and take them down to the local market to sell them to whoever is interested. Sometimes he also takes orders from people who, say, want a cake for an event. He doesn’t make a ton of money this way, but he makes some, and he becomes pretty popular in their little section of the neighborhood. Also, again, Saeyoung and MC taste test for him, so honestly it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
Speaking of Saeyoung and MC, yes, they do get married. Saeyoung proposes on a moonlit night, out beneath the stars, and rather than a traditional engagement ring, he gives her a solar system gemstone bracelet, where the different gemstones were selected and arranged to look like each planet of the solar system (with added stones for the Earth’s moon, the stars, et cetera). They of course can’t get married at an actual space station, but MC arranges for the next best thing, which is a marriage at the local planetarium. The entire room is decked out to make it look like they’re standing in the middle of a nebula, with stars cascading over the walls and ceiling, a few planets visible up above (including Earth, because come on, let them dream). Saeran is Saeyoung’s best man, and Vanderwood, Zen, and Yoosung are other groomsmen. MC is an orphan without a family, so Jumin is the one who walks her down the aisle, since he’s the head of the RFA now. Jaehee is, of course, her maid of honor. Elizabeth 3rd is a bridesmaid.
Back when they first told everyone about the wedding, Saeyoung announced---without asking---that Vanderwood was going to be his maid of honor. Vanderwood was indignant for multiple reasons (Saeyoung never asked, and doesn’t he mean best man?), but nonetheless was indignant all over again when, later, Saeyoung mentioned off-handedly that Saeran was going to be his best man, of course. When Vanderwood demanded an explanation, Saeyoung explained that he has a best man, obviously, he can’t have a maid of honor. Obviously Vanderwood was going to be MC’s maid of honor instead. (“Yo,” MC said, waving.) Vanderwood didn’t know why he even bothered asking.
They do have actual wedding rings, but MC continues to wear her solar system engagement bracelet even after they’re married. It’s gorgeous, after all. She wears it every day, and Saeyoung is thrilled.
Saeran, understandably, really isn’t interested in dating for a long time (if potentially ever). It’s incredibly difficult for him to trust others. It’s hard enough for him to open up to his own brother (and sister-in-law), as well as the RFA; letting someone else in, when he’s already terrified of being used and/or abandoned again, feels impossible, particularly since . . . well, Rika was always smiling, she always seemed to care for him. Even if someone else seems nice, who’s to say they aren’t lying to him the same way? How can he trust that they’re not? So he stays away from dating, instead taking solace in the company of his two siblings (+ Vanderwood), as well as the RFA chat rooms.
That said, he does discover dating sim games, and he gets super hardcore into them. Dating sims are safe because the characters are all virtual; even if he gets a Bad End, it’s not real, and so there’s no threat. Additionally, he can make the characters really love him, and he gets super attached to them, going so far as to get merch of his favorites. In particular, he gets super into one that he plays on his phone and works in real time, to the point where Saeyoung and MC have to keep reminding him to eat / get a decent night’s sleep, since he has difficulties doing that while so into the game. It’s a bit of an issue, but he’s happy, and that’s what matters most.
Speaking of games, early into his recovery Saeyoung introduces Saeran to Backpack Monsters, since it’s a game that’s easy to play, easy to spend a lot of time on, and (bonus) there are always two versions each generation, so if Saeran likes them, they can play together and help each other complete the Backudex. At first, Saeran plays them quietly; he goes through X, Y, OmegaRuby, and AlphaSapphire on the 3DS that Saeyoung purchases for him, seemingly enjoying them but not commenting overmuch on them. When Sun and Moon are announced, however, Saeran is the one who brings them up, and he does so by saying, “We’ll have to each get one so that we can trade with each other.” Saeyoung is so thrilled that he spontaneously hugs Saeran. (He also gets Moon Version. Saeran goes for Sun.)
Oh, speaking of---as funny as jokes are that Saeran continues to be very >:( toward his brother forever, and while he is definitely still quite prickly at first, therapy and constant love and support do a lot to help him heal. Over the first few years spontaneous hugs like that are still a risk (and Saeyoung does realize immediately what he did and backs off, though Saeran assures him it’s fine), but as he heals and recovers he comes to crave that physical contact, and sometimes will ask for hugs himself (which Saeyoung always readily and happily gives him, as does MC). The idea that Saeran would always be irritated by or annoyed by Saeyoung is one that does not sit well with me, and thus is one I reject.
Moving on, Saeran also does get really into gardening. MC helps him find some small flowers (and cacti!) to take care of while they’re out shopping together one day, and Saeran also picks up books on flowers and flower languages. He doesn’t want to pursue a career in gardening or anything, but it’s a relaxing hobby and he likes to see his flowers grow. He also likes learning about the various flower languages, making arrangements, et cetera.
Despite his vast knowledge, flowers are one area in which Saeyoung actually doesn’t know a lot about. Flowers have never really been his thing. However, he wants to show interest in Saeran’s hobbies, and he also wants to give Saeran an opportunity to teach him things just like he taught Saeran, and so he asks questions about them and listens with rapt attention as Saeran tells him about the different flowers. Saeran gets the idea that Saeyoung is just indulging him (and he’s not wholly wrong), but he really, really appreciates the effort.
MC and Saeran also find an abandoned puppy while out shopping one day, early into Saeran’s recovery, and they end up bringing said puppy home (Saeran was hesitant, but MC assured him that Saeyoung would be fine with it). The puppy ends up becoming a family dog, but Saeran especially bonds with him, and is the one who gives him his name: Baskin.
Though that said, at first, Saeyoung and MC tell everyone in the RFA that they’re naming the puppy Elliot the 3rd. Jumin is pissed until they reveal they’re joking. (“he’s elliot the 4th lol,” Saeyoung says.) That’s when Saeran grows tired of the shenanigans and announces that the dog’s name is Baskin.
And THAT said, when Saeyoung and MC have their first child (children? twins? triplets??), they do say they’re naming their daughter Elizabeth the 4th. Jumin is actually touched by this (and Jaehee is horrified) until that’s revealed to be a joke as well.

(Deleted Scene, Vanderwood buying clothes for Cerise)
The first thing he’d done when they’d gotten to the next town over was find a clothing store that would suit her liking, which he figured meant pink, comfortable, and cute based on how she was dressed the day before and her pajamas now. He’d tried to wake her to get Cerise to go in, but she’d refused thanks to her current state of dress, and that had been the only reason he’d bothered going in for her. It was uncomfortable, in fact it was rather horrible.
Per Cerise’s suggestion, he’d talked to a sales woman about what to choose, but of course he’d ended up in the bra and panties aisle with the woman because, well, Cerise needed those items too. Thanks to his cover story, the woman had picked out a piece of lingerie too, which he tried not to imagine Cerise in as the woman said, ‘I’m sure your girlfriend wouldn’t mind you picking out something for yourself too.’ Vanderwood just shoved all of the clothes into the trunk, tucking a specific clothing item into the far back of it, just like he was doing with his imagination.
It was a relief to him that Cerise didn’t start to wake up until after he’d gone to get her new phone too. When she was sleeping, she was much easier to manage, and she could apparently sleep harder than even Seven. Vanderwood could see her waking up now, though, but maybe that was a good thing, since it was time to find a hotel.
Cerise opened her eyes again slowly, adjusting them to the light. The road still passed by them as she tried to train her eyes on anything outside, hard to do when everything was moving. Instead, she turned her head and let her eyes focus on the man who was currently still driving. How long had it been? She noted that he didn’t look as intense, at least. Cerise yawned and stretched before sitting completely upright. “Morning.” She greeted him with a sleepy smile, rubbing at her eyes. Maybe she’d bug him soon to stop for coffee.
Vanderwood turned his head slightly to see her, a half smirk on his face. “Well, good morning, sleeping beauty.” What would have been and should have been a normal quip, made him feel red-faced and embarrassed. Normally he was so good with women, and it was really starting to bother him. Cerise’s sing song response wasn’t helping him any either. “Well, I have been told that I have quite the cute sleeping face.” Vanderwood was internally groaning again, taking a few minutes before he could talk. “I got your new phone. It’s in that bag on the floor, and when we get to the next town we’ll be staying at, I’ll transfer your files.” That came out normally, good.
Cerise had been taking his few minutes of silence to try and wake up, to process the events up until the current situation, but she perked up immediately at the mention of her new phone. Instantly she was grabbing at the bag, taking it out and examining it. “Oh my God! It’s actually the new model…Yes!” She began to chatter for the next few minutes about all the functions the phone had and how it would help her social media, how much higher quality the camera was and all the new emojis and filters. Cerise couldn’t wait until they finally got to the next town, and she could test out her new toy.
Vanderwood was absolutely stunned by her reaction. The way she reacted to a simple new phone was just…He wasn’t sure whether he was annoyed or endeared. On one hand, he should really be paying attention to make sure that no one was following them, but on the other hand, she was just so adorable talking about the new phone. His heart felt like it had grown wings and was going to fly away that he’d managed to make her so happy. Well, the phone had.
A sign welcoming them to the next town was what reminded him of what they needed to be doing. He had to choose their hotel, and get them checked in. It would be best if it were somewhere that people wouldn’t think for him to go, which gave him an idea. He interrupted her chatter, as much as he almost wanted to hear her go on and on about the phone for eternity. “Cerise, choose a hotel.”
“Wait, me? Well, okay, I guess.” Cerise looked around their immediate area, not bothering to look anything up on her phone. She didn’t want to waste time until she could get into her new phone and get it up and running. There was so much to post about that it would probably take her upwards of two hours if she hurried. The throw away phone was pretty much useless to her. She just couldn’t do anything with it. Cerise pointed to the first hotel that looked…not questionable. “That one looks nice, I think?” That and it looked like it had a restaurant attached to it, which was great because she was starving and really wanted coffee. What was he even looking for in a hotel anyway?
Vanderwood had to admit that the hotel she had chosen looked pretty decent. The best part really was that he hadn’t chosen it. That would slow Drawl and Jessica down as far as finding Cerise and him. Vanderwood found his way into the parking lot, realizing that Cerise still needed to change into some decent clothes. That meant they should probably start with checking into the hotel rooms first. Granted, he was starving, and she probably was too, but that would have to come after.
“Let’s change, check in, and go eat.” His mention of food was like music to Cerise’s ears, and she couldn’t wait to finally get out of the car, that and out of her pajamas to get into some real clothes. It was winter, after all. Vanderwood was apparently thinking about the same thing because he went to the trunk instead of around to the passenger side first. He figured she needed at least some shoes on now, so she wouldn’t have to walk through the parking lot and hotel bare foot.
Cerise was wondering what he was doing in the trunk, but didn’t have to wait long before he was opening the passenger side door, causing her to pull his jacket tighter around her against the cold winter air. Vanderwood handed her the shoes, which she slipped on happily. Thankfully the store he’d gone to seemed true to size because her feet fit perfectly.
Vanderwood had waited for her to put on the shoes before he took her hand to help her out of the car. Holding her hand, even though it was a perfectly normal action, seemed to make his face light up with red again. He coughed to clear his mind so that he could get his brain functioning properly in agent mode. “I’ll get the bags. We’re getting two rooms connected by a door.”
Cerise was thankful for his help, feeling rather stiff from all of her time spent curled up in the front seat. The moment he had taken her hand, though, her chest felt…fluttery? That was weird…His abrupt cough pulled her back to reality, and she looked up at him as he spoke. “Wow…You’re such a gentleman.” The praise had him just not able to process what she was saying as she turned to grab the two cellphones from the car so the files could be transferred later. “A gentleman and good looking, you’re just the whole package, aren’t ya?” She was teasing him but also internally asking herself Why?
Vanderwood somehow managed a “Yup.” Even though his brain was on the fritz. He busied himself with grabbing their bags from the car and locking it before leading her to the entrance of the hotel. Cerise remained quiet, and the entire time he was checking them in, and he was berating himself for not knowing how to respond. His eye scanned constantly as he led her up to the hotel, unlocking her door for her.
“Just knock on our connected door when you’re ready, and we’ll head down together.” It was probably a little strange for her that he was keeping even her room key, but it was safer if he was in charge of her comings and goings. She took the bags that were meant for her, affirming to him that she was listening before disappearing into her own room.
Once he was in his room, he finally had a chance to just breathe and be alone. For the first time that day, he noticed the burning sensation in his abdomen. Everything going on had made him forget that, right, Drawl had stabbed him. He tugged off his shirt, going to the sink to examine the wound. It looked swollen and angry, cauterized instantly thanks to Drawl’s love for knives covered in acid, so at least there wasn’t blood to clean off. The acid did need to come off, though.
After quickly cleaning the cut with some items from his go bag kit, he changed into some normal looking clothes, a purple t-shirt and some jeans, putting his taser in his right pocket for easy access. He needed some comfort right now, but that didn’t mean he was going to go without his favorite weapon. Not that he didn’t have plenty others hidden on his person.
His entire body felt tense and not just from being in the car all day. A cigarette would have been a dream, but that wasn’t an option, and he had to avoid talking to others as much as possible, so getting his other fix wasn’t an option either. Just the thought of getting an escort with Cerise next door was making him feel a little guilty too. He was supposed to be protecting her, considering it was his fault she was in danger in the first place, so he shouldn’t even consider doing something so dangerous.
Cerise had dug through the bags Vanderwood had given her and laid out the new clothes she had received, trying to figure out what to wear. He really hadn’t done so bad picking stuff out, and she could definitely see herself wearing it. It didn’t take her long on deciding what she wanted, opting for a cute top and skirt that she threw a tan jacket over. There was even a matching scarf!
She changed out of her pajamas and into her new outfit to find that it was even really comfortable, much to her enjoyment. When she was satisfied with how she looked, she grabbed her phones, wanting him to make good on transferring the files as soon as possible, and knocked on their connecting doors. “Hey! I’m ready now!” She called out, the last part she emphasized in a sing-song voice. She was not only excited for food but also for her brand-new phone.
As soon as Vanderwood heard Cerise’s voice, he went to open the door only for another shock to his system. Sure, he’d picked out her clothes, even imagined her wearing them, thanks brain, but they were even better actually on her. Vanderwood was certain he was going insane. He couldn’t possibly like this woman, could he? She was nothing like his sexual type, and she was certainly nothing like him. He was cold and brusque and she was lively and excitable. He had to shake his head to clear it.
Cerise was confused as Vanderwood just kind of…stared at her? Her face started to turn red, but she narrowed her eyes and stared back defiantly. He was incredibly attractive, she’d noticed before, but it was impossible to ignore when she was staring at him like this. When he shook his head, she realized that this wasn’t some weird staring contest. She was about to ask him ‘What are you staring at, handsome~’ but thankfully, his talking saved her from embarrassing herself.
“Alright, let’s head down then…For cover story purposes, you’re a family friend, and I’m showing you around Korea.” That would make more sense than, girlfriend because of the separate rooms, and it made a lot more sense for his brain continuing to function. Cerise just listened as he led her down the stairs to the restaurant. It seemed simple enough to her, easy to remember, not to mention she didn’t look completely Korean, so the story would hold more merit. Good thinking on his part!
Vanderwood made their order at the restaurant, and the staff was pretty prompt with taking it, spending a little extra time attempting to chat with them, which he was sure was because the waitress was interested him. He pretty much ignored her. Cerise was just surprised at how fast their order was taken and their waitress seemed super friendly to her. She was liking this place already.
He wasn’t talking much, which was boring, and to avoid sitting there in awkward silence, Cerise looked around curiously. Normally, she would just use her phone to keep her attention, but the poor little throw away phone just couldn’t keep up and ended up frustrating her, doing more harm than good. Her followers would just be even happier when she returned.
Vanderwood scanned the restaurant for any sign of trouble, anyone looking their way unnecessarily. Mostly, he saw the usual reaction of shock of people reacting to him. He wasn’t exactly inconspicuous, with his height, let alone just the air he gave off usually made people either uncomfortable or turned on, depending on the person. Vanderwood noted that there was one person continually sending glances their way, but he wasn’t looking at Vanderwood, he was eyeing Cerise. Vanderwood’s eyebrow twitched. Could he really blame the guy? Cerise was pretty cute. That thought just made his eyebrow twitch again.
Cerise’s eyes locked with a young man’s from the next table over and he averted his gaze quickly, looking down with a large blush. As she continued to look around trying to amuse herself, she would catch him staring at her again, and she would just flash him a smile and wave before she decided she would just go talk to the flustered guy. Vanderwood was already getting more irritated with the way she was interacting with the kid, but then she was saying “Hey, I’ll be right back.” In her sing song voice, and before he could give her an answer, she had made her way to the table, pulling up a chair opposite of the young man.
Vanderwood had wanted to tell her that she would be doing no such thing and grab her wrist, but that would have been an overreaction, and he hadn’t had time to come up with an appropriate response that could keep her at his table. Instead he settled for watching her from his own seat. They were talking and laughing, and Vanderwood could feel irritation growing by the second. The more she smiled at the other guy, the more he felt his body growing tight. This wasn’t normal for him at all. Vanderwood felt…possessive. He wanted to keep her safe, and he was certain his irritation over this young guy was just the physical reaction to his sense of duty to protect her.
She was talking and laughing with the guy for a few minutes before he scribbled something down on a napkin and shyly handed it to her. Cerise thanked him with a wink before getting up and returning to her own table, sitting down with a giggle. She’d have to wait to put the number he had given her into her new phone once it was in working order. Vanderwood was almost going to say something, but as Cerise returned to the table, seemingly pleased with her conversation, the waitress appeared again with their food.
Vanderwood gave the waitress a smirk, where before he had ignored her. He needed some sort of relief for his frustration, so maybe a small bit of playing around wouldn’t be so bad. “Thanks for the food, sexy.” Her face turned red, but she made a motion to sit next to him, which he didn’t refuse. She whispered something in his ear about when she would get off work and that he should meet her after her shift. Nice, one night stand material. Just as quickly, she was gone to help her other customers.
Cerise watched the scene in front of her unfold with a slight confusion. He had seemed disinterested in everything before now. Honey gold eyes flickered between him and their waitress as the woman sat down next to him and whispered into his ear. She watched as the woman got up and walked away, scrunching her nose up before talking. “She’s…really nice?” Cerise picked up a fork to dig into some pasta that she had ordered. She noticed that even the guy she had talked to earlier was staring at their waitress. Weird.
“Nice isn’t exactly what I go for.” He speared a sausage on his fork and took a bite before noticing the waitress giving a little display. The woman seemed to drop something before letting out a quite audible ‘oops!’ then quite dramatically bending over to pick it up. Vanderwood grimaced in disgust. He wasn’t one for shows, but what he really needed was someone quick to get in and out of bed. The thought occurred to him that he really shouldn’t be getting anyone into bed for the time being, but something about Cerise’s new ‘friend’ was making him too irritated to care. The fact that even that guy was watching the woman’s display, too eagerly, only made it worse. Somehow, he’d have to help Cerise lose the guy’s number.
She was a little confused by his comment. “Go for? Oh…” So that’s what he meant by that. The exchange with the waitress made so much more sense now. Cerise shook her head, blushing from the blatant display for attention and letting herself focus on her pasta in front of her. Okay, so the waitress had forgotten her coffee. Despite how much she had wanted it, she was not about to invite that woman back over to them. Cerise was going to have to endure without that heavenly liquid crafted by the Gods themselves. Woe was her.
His eyes strayed to the waitress again. With the way this one was acting, he wasn’t entirely sure she was just a civilian. More likely, she was a fuck you and steal your wallet kind of whore. Vanderwood looked back to Cerise to realize that her coffee hadn’t arrived and raised his still gloved hand, indicating they needed the waitress to come back. She scampered over quickly. “Hey, lovely, my friend here still needs her coffee.” Vanderwood wasn’t eager to spend time with the waitress by any means, but he was paying for coffee so he’d better receive what he paid for. That was his only rule for spending money in general.
Cerise had opened her mouth to protest when he called the waitress back, but didn’t want to make a scene of it. Now, Cerise looked down and poked at her pasta some more, forgetting that she actually had to eat it. She sunk down in her chair a little and waited. If anything could brighten her spirits, coffee could. Cerise didn’t have to wait long for her coffee to get to her, which was great, but she could have done without the display of melons that the waitress was now giving Vanderwood.
The waitress had bent over to give Vanderwood a glimpse of her cleavage once she’d brought the coffee. He had to admit she had some decent curves, and now he decided to test his theory from before, leaning forward to whisper in the waitress’ ear, asking for her rate. Vanderwood caught a lock of her hair between his fingers and slid it out of his hand just as quickly. This one was definitely not a civilian with the way she so easily let him do as he pleased. She winked at him before indicating a man in another booth he’d only briefly noticed earlier. So that was the pimp.
When she was gone he went back to eating like he hadn’t done anything. Cerise was just shoveling pasta in her mouth, likely trying to distract herself too, and on some level he felt bad for the little show he’d forced her to watch, but it was all for the sake of information. He wasn’t going to use this woman’s services, she was too cheap for one and had pretended not to be a whore in the first place. If there was one thing he hated, it was a liar.
He saw the pimp approaching first, but he could tell that Cerise had noticed him too out of the corner of her eye. The man was rather plump, middle-aged, and Vanderwood could already smell him. That was not something anyone could call pleasant. Cerise had turned her head to watch curiously as the man made his way toward them. He seemed to be dressed nicely, but the closer he got, the more she noticed that he indeed did not smell nice, causing Cerise to absentmindedly scoot her chair back. Vanderwood could hardly blame her. The man leaned his hand on the table and started to talk with a crooked, toothy smile.
“Ey.” He greeted them, keeping his eyes on Cerise who replied “…ey?” cocking her head to the side. “I…like your hat?” This was really awkward. What did this guy even want? The man grinned even wider and straightened said hat. “Yeah, yeah. It’s coo ain’t it. Say listen...” Now he turned his attention to Vanderwood, putting a hand on his shoulder. Usually pimps would let the johns come to them, so as much as Vanderwood didn’t like the man anywhere near Cerise and certainly did not like the man touching him, he was going to wait and hear what the man had to say, even though his skin was starting to crawl with the need to get away from this obviously dirty person.
The pimp kept up his toothy grin the entire time, scratching at his cheek occasionally before replacing his hand on Vanderwood’s shoulder over and over. If this tall man was so interested in his girl, maybe he would make a deal for this little one…? “I saws you puttin’ the moves on my girl over there and that’s coo, that’s coo. She’s a good girl.” Now he was moving to sit down next to Vanderwood, which he allowed without a fuss even though the guy absolutely reeked, causing Cerise to scoot back further. Whatever was happening she did not feel comfortable. The vibes this man was giving off were really strange.
“I was wonderin’ if you’d be interested in a lil trade?” As soon as the mention of trade was made, Vanderwood raised an eyebrow. “Excuse me?” What the Hell was that supposed to mean? The nasty man continued onward, not noticing or too stupid to notice that neither of the people at the table were actually interested in what he had to say, laughing in a dry cough that grated on their ears and made Cerise shiver.
“Ya see…some mens – well a lot of dem actually, dey would pay a lot, and I mean a lot, of money to have a legal ho whos looks like a kid, like dat one dere.” The man then gestured towards Cerise. Her honey-colored eyes widened at his comments. She’d had her fair share of creepy comments directed towards her, but nothing like this. The only thing she could do was sit and stare in disbelief at what was happening. Surely Vanderwood wouldn’t give her over to a creep like this...She’d have to think of something quick just in case things went South.
Vanderwood’s eyebrow twitched as the man talked. He’d suggested one, that Cerise should be a ho, and two that she looked like a kid. There was something ugly stirring in his chest. It’s not like Cerise was that important to him, but the things this asshole was saying were definitely making Vanderwood vehemently angry. “Whatdya say? My ho for yours, I’ll even gives ya fifteen percent of her earnings.” Now he was holding his hand out to Vanderwood.
He looked over to Cerise before he looked at the pimp, giving him a smirk as he took the man’s hand, seemingly like he was going to agree. That moment, Cerise’s heart fell. She didn’t have time for the panic to set in before Vanderwood was yanking the man forward. Vanderwood was squeezing the guy’s hand like no tomorrow and pressing his taser hard into the guy’s side.
Cerise couldn’t tell what Vanderwood was threatening the man with, but he looked absolutely terrified, which served him right. She listened as Vanderwood leaned towards the man, seeing his nose crinkle in disgust at the stench. “Here’s the deal. You are going to apologize to this beautiful young woman, and then you are going to turn around and walk. You’re going to walk, and walk, and walk, until you’re out of this hotel and you’re never going to come back. In exchange, I won’t tase you to death.” Vanderwood let go of the reeking man, shoving him away with a scowl, his eyes dark and menacing. Really, the man was lucky to not be dead.
Despite the intense and even a little frightening situation, Cerise found that Vanderwood’s words were having quite the effect on here. He’d really just called her beautiful? She felt her face heat up a little despite everything happening. It was like his words held a greater weight than the ones the gross older man had said about her, as negative as they were. The smelly pimp couldn’t get away fast enough, uttering a quick, half-assed apology before he rushed out the door.
The whole establishment had their eyes on them at this point but Cerise didn’t really care. “Hey, Vanderwood…thanks for that.” She was really happy that he had been there; she didn’t know what she would have done if she had been on her own, and more importantly, the way he had fiercely defended her sent her heart into a frenzy. She’d be the first to admit that she was weak for those kinds of things in the things she read, but to have it actually happen to her?
He had been giving a dark look to those looking their way, daring them to say or do something, irritated with himself and angry at the pimp because of the display which could be of danger to Cerise and him, but her thank you brought his attention back to her. Was she blushing? Oh God, now he was blushing, and his heart was doing that strange flip thing again. He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. “Don’t mention it. He was way out of line…Let’s pay and get back to our rooms for now.” She wasn’t about to argue with that; she wanted to get away from that place as soon as possible.
The waitress was terrified of him now, bringing his ticket and taking it and his money back as quickly as possible. He paid her no mind, his interest soured over her pimp, although he would love a cig or something to relax, but it was just as well. Vanderwood led Cerise back up to the room, and to her relief, they made it there with no incident. It seemed like her life had gotten significantly more complicated since moving to Korea again.
Vanderwood could feel his skin crawling, still thanks to that disgusting piece of shit having touched him so much. His OCD could occasionally be coupled with germophobia, thanks to the need for everything around him to be so clean, but he noticed Cerise’s phones still both clutched in her hand as he held her door open.
Cerise turned around when he spoke. “I think…I owe you transferring your phone files now.” Her phone…she had almost forgotten about it with all of that commotion going on. Almost. She nearly squealed as she jumped to grab her new phone and the old one, handing them both to him excitedly. “This is going to be so great! I have so much to catch up on.”
He snorted softly at her excitement, taking the phones and grabbing the cord from his pocket to connect the two. “You’re really cute when you’re excited.” Fuck. He hadn’t really meant to say that out loud. Nothing to do about it now. Vanderwood had meant to pretend that he hadn’t said anything but then she responded along with a playful punch and wink. “You’re not so bad yourself~”
God, his face was red. Vanderwood went through the new phone, in part to distract himself but also because he needed to ensure once again that the geotags were off. He just couldn’t control himself or act normal with Cerise. Once he was done with her phones, he handed the new one to her before forcing his mind to work on putting together sentences.
Cerise was already burying herself in the new phone, tapping away, only stopping when he began talking to her again. “Ground rules. One, you don’t leave this room unless I’m with you. Two, you do not tell anyone where you are staying or why you’re staying there.” He looked her in the eyes, locking brown to honey gold, wanting to make sure she understood how important what he was saying was. “If you need anything at all, I’m right next door. If you hear something strange, see anyone following you or looking at you in a way that makes you uncomfortable, you tell me. I’ll protect you, Cerise, okay?” Why was it so important to him that she believe him? It was just about making his life easier while he took care of her, certainly…No, there was something to it; he just didn’t understand it.
“Okay.” She nodded, indicating that she understood what he was saying. Cerise could totally lay low for a few days, catch up on her shows and blog posts. Especially since she now had a hold of this beautiful new phone. Piece of cake! After today, Cerise had no doubt in her mind that he would protect her, which made her feel comforted even when she was supposedly trying to get away from two deranged maniacs. Cerise smiled and stared at him for a moment, his face and especially his eyes looked really intense in that moment; it was a perfect opportunity for…She quickly snapped a picture with her new phone, for the first time right in front of his face, giving him a wink. “Sorry, couldn’t help it~”
Damn it. Cerise was going to be the death of him. He already felt like he was having a heart attack every time she did anything but her wink was just…not helping. At least she seemed to be listening to the ground rules, so that was good, although the way she’d just taken that photo made his eye twitch. Maybe she would literally be the death of him. “I have the feeling you aren’t sorry at all.” Vanderwood hated his picture taken, let alone the attention he was apparently getting from her followers. It wasn’t something he liked to think about, even Seven had already called him Vanderhottie in a text he’d checked while Cerise had been sleeping in the car. Really, it was just one big security risk too, particularly if he started getting recognized on the street.
Vanderwood needed a cig, but he just sighed. “Do me a favor and make that the last one you take of me, alright?” He was far gentler with her than he would have been with anyone else, but now he decided it was best to get out of there before she tried again. Cerise seemed like the type to do it again simply because he asked her not to. Vanderwood ducked into his own room, flopping onto the bed and sending a few messages to Seven before staring at the ceiling.
Cerise was somewhat disappointed, almost having wanted to snap another quick picture just for defiance’s sake before he slipped away. Oh well. She spent the rest of her day lounging about her hotel room, getting accustomed to her new phone. It was everything she’d hoped it would be and more. After about three full hours getting caught up on her social media, she’d done pretty much everything she could with it. It looked like her followers were just eating up the previous pictures of Vanderwood she had taken. Cerise pulled up the one she’d taken of him earlier that day. If she posted it, it was sure to be a hit, but she couldn’t help but want to keep just that one to herself. She noticed that he was rather quiet; she couldn’t hear anything beyond the door. Was he even in there? Must have been a secret agent thing.
He was lost in his thoughts for the rest of the day, only slipping out of them when Seven sent him some files of information to on Jessica or Drawl to review. When Seven sent him a file on Cerise, Vanderwood opened it instantly, but he could only get past the first sentence stating her age and birth date before he felt like he was invading her privacy. She was quite a bit younger than him…but he didn’t care. Vanderwood bit his tongue.
There was something happening to him with Cerise, and it wasn’t simply needing a fix, was it? He was getting hopelessly attached to her, and he needed to take care of Drawl and Jessica soon. She needed to get back to her normal life, a normal life without him. The fact that the thought genuinely hurt him had him worried. He’d need to get that done sooner rather than later to avoid anything happening between the two of them.

What would happen if the RFA + Minor Trio were introduced to energy drinks and got high on it? ;)
***Nothing good. Lol, jk, I dunno. Maybe something good willcome out of this, but there’s really only one way to find out. I’m going tostart with the ones who have probably had energy drinks before. ~Let’s Connect!FFC
Character breakdown: Good ending canon characters, Secretending 02 Saeran, V with an operation to restore some of his sight, my version of Vanderwood as seen in my VanderwoodBackstory Fanfiction***
Seven:
Who decided it was a good idea to let this boy have enoughenergy drinks to hype him up?
I’m pretty sure he’s convinced he can see sound. Actually,he might be able to, who the fuck knows?
What does Seven do with this newfound energy and amazingtalent? He gets to work on his computer. Vanderwood is actually really proud tosee him working away this hard. The kid is certainly working a lot harder thanhe was for their very last mission.
When Seven finally crashes, passing out on his keyboard,Vanderwood decides to take a look at what the redhead has been working on andjust…has he been…making a manual on how to best create the world’s new longestlongcat?
After a long long nap, Seven awakens with a keyboardimprinted on his face and a note from Vanderwood that he will be tasing theredhead for being an idiot later. Why??? What had he even done to the guy????T_T
Yoosung:
The blond had used energy drinks many a time to stay up forLOLOL raids, but this was his first time using them to stay up for somehardcore studying.
Ever since you’d come into his life, he was now a devotedstudent once more, wanting to become a reliable man to you. This cram sessionwould have to be the best of all cram sessions ever.
Yoosung decides to have more than one energy drink, and thenhe starts to feel a little weird. It’s like he’s dreadfully aware of his ownheartbeat. What is this?? Is he dying??
It seems like the whole world around him is full of thesefuzzy little dots too. He is most certainly dying. Instead of studying,
Yoosungturns his attention to writing his will and a very long and heartfelt letter toeach of the people most important to his life, including a final letter aboutthe dangers of having too many energy drink that he passes out halfway throughwriting.
You find him the next morning, covering him with a blanketbefore looking at what he was doing. There is drool on the final note and yourifle through the papers only to sigh at his naivety. Yoosung may be smart, butsometimes he’s really ridiculous.
Zen:
Energy drinks used to be something he was having all thetime when he worked out, but after he realized there was just so much sugarthat he was mostly working the drinks off, he stopped. Sure, he was a heavy beerdrinker too, and that wasn’t healthy, but why add energy drinks on top of that?
It’s been a while, and supposedly this energy drink you’dleft on the counter was extra strength, so he decides to give it a sip just tosee what his cutie is drinking. It tastes so good that he ends up having alittle more than a sip.
By the time he’s finished off half of the can, Zen realizesthat he is shaking. His entire body is just violently shivering like somechihuahua on acid. There is so much energy and he needs to get rid of it!
So, what does he turn to? Exercise. Zen goes to his favoritegym, and you find him there hours later after the gym manager calls you. Yourfavorite albino has passed on the elliptical.
Zen swears off energy drinks for the rest of time and alsonever lets you drink them either, because that can’t be good for you.
Saeran:
The can seems colorful and he just assumes it’s a pop. It ismost definitely not just a pop, but at least it tastes good?
It isn’t long before Saeran starts to feel really weird. Hisleg just starts bouncing, his fingers tapping wildly at the armrests of hischair. Something in him just feels like he needs to do something and he can’tfigure out what.
This perpetual feeling is just getting worse and worse evenas he tries to figure out something to do on the computer to no avail.
You find Saeran curled into a ball on the bed hours later, his hands pressed to either side of his head. Apparently the stimulation hadcaused a bit of a panic attack, and this was where your love had retreated to.Good thing you’re there to help him now.
No energy drinks for Saeran, ever.
Jaehee:
This woman drinks so much coffee and tea on a regular basisthat she is not even able to get high off of an energy drink.
Jaehee took one sip, thought it tasted disgusting, but then drankthe whole thing down thanks to your dare to do so. It was the only way she’dtry it.
Of course, you had to do the same and it ended up being thatJaehee was following you around as you hopped around the room ‘cleaning’ whichactually meant knocking stuff over with the duster as Jaehee heroically caughteverything and replaced the items on their respective shelves.
V/Jihyun:
He may have had an operation to help out with most of hissight, but V still had trouble with small lettering. There is small letteringon this can of energy drink, and he happens to be so thirsty at the moment thathe just needs to get something down.
That was a mistake. For one, it was incredibly sugary andnot really to his taste, but for another, why did he feel like he wanted to runa marathon?
V doesn’t know what to do with all the pent up energy, andhe doesn’t trust his depth perception to actually attempt to run a marathon, soinstead he makes it to his computer and just starts frantically editingpictures.
It isn’t until his eyes start watering and stinging that herealizes he has been staring at the screen way longer than his doctorrecommends that he be allowed to.
At least now he’s starting to feel tired? Really tired…Hebarely makes it to his couch before passing out.
When he wakes up his eyes are so sensitive to the light thathe actually has to use his cane to get around because he can’t bear to keep hiseyes open for longer than thirty seconds.
From now on, tap water is just fine. That sounds like the best solution to thirst.
Jumin:
This new brightly colored can must be some commoner’sbeverage his lovely MC enjoys.
Jumin picks up this beverage labeled ‘beast’ with a brightgreen ‘b’ logo and examines it. Of course, he reads the back of the can, furrowing his brows at the nutritional statements as well as the warnings.
How on Earth could his sweetheart like this type of drink? With a sigh, he decides that he will just have to try it. The drink is withinhis allotted extra calorie intake by some miracle, or curse, so he decides todrink it, if only to understand.
The amount of energy that seems to flood his system israther a shock to it. Jumin has no motivation problems on any given day, butright now…He needs to work on cat projects.
He didn’t do these as often as he once had, because he simplydidn’t get as stressed as he used to now that you were around, but he just hadto do one right now. That cat hotel project had never hit the ground runninglike it should have.
Jaehee is beyond surprised when her boss calls her on herday off sounding like a crazed person, and she nearly cries as he gives her somuch work to go along with the work that he is doing as well. How can he expectto have this project done by today?
After much sweat and tears, maybe even blood from papercuts,Jaehee arrives at the penthouse to deliver the documents personally to Mr. Han,only to find that Jumin is passed out with his head in your lap, papersscattered in neat piles.
The next morning, Jumin looks everything over, feeling wornout beyond belief, and decides to just trash it because the ideas he’d had weremade ‘under the influence’ and that just wasn’t ethical. More tears fromJaehee.
Vanderwood:
Seven tricks him. And by tricks him I mean mixes an energy drink into afruit smoothie that Vanderwood was making. The brunet questions the taste, butdecides it was probably the slightly over ripened kiwi that had done it.
There’s not long before Vanderwood just feels on edge. Hiseyes flicker around the room as his heart-rate seems to increase dramatically.Brown eyes find the redhead watching him, a smirk on Seven’s face which quicklyturns to fear.
Of course, that on edge feeling must be that the redhead wasplanning some sort of horrible joke. Seven’s smile was just fading because hewas being caught in the act. “What are you planning?” Vanderwood seems to feelmuch faster than usual as he actually manages to catch the much smaller andusually quicker male.
He drags Seven around with him from room to room asking ifthe thing the redhead was pranking him with was there, watching him to see ifthere was any reaction.
When they eventually make it to the kitchen, Vanderwood isstarting to feel so exhausted, letting go of the redhead. It’s the last room,so whatever the prank was, it had to be here.
“So?” He watches as Seven’s eyes flicker to the now cleanblender and then away. The smoothie? “What did you put in my-“ And suddenly thecrash is just horrible. Vanderwood nearly falls over as he grips at thecounter. Now Seven feels pretty damn horrible, grabbing the larger man andhelping him to the couch where he just lets the guy sleep.
Normally, Vanderwood slept really lightly, but he was outlike a light. Should Seven add insult to injury and maybe draw on the guy alittle bit? …Why can’t he seem to resist writing ‘I’m a jerk.’ on Vanderwood’sforhead?
Once Vanderwood wakes up, feeling sick, and goes to thebathroom, suddenly he doesn’t feel so sick anymore, and it’s back to chasingthe redhead again. Why does Seven do this to himself?
