the names are printed neatly on blank campus paper. everything is written in pencil, no trace of pen ink. each name is accompanied with it's meaning and small drawings that you've brightly colored.

there are creases across the sheet from where it's been folded. and if johnny stares at it long enough he can start to gather what you've folded it into countless times.

he can't help but wonder how often you'd unfolded the paper. had you known all these names would be yours from the beginning? did you start with only one and build your way up? how long had you been ruminating over the idea of your own babe?

johnny tries to move past that last thought but a warmth spreads across his lower belly. he thinks of you, alone in your own flat, the list held in your hands as you wonder when you'll have the chance to use a name.

his hand grips the edge of the desk as he breaths deeply, trying to calm the sudden urge that arises in him. to have you on your back, give you a child for each of the names on your list. make this goal of yours a reality.

The little hints that are easily missed part 2:

1. When Charles said to Declan (I’m paraphrasing because I don’t remember exactly the lines) that he and Rupert are the same, stubborn, workaholics and want their way always winning I feel like it was a for shadowing for the dynamic between Declan & Rupert’s relationship with each other. They are the same person that in another universe they might be the other way around (Rupert married with kids and Declan a playboy). Regarding that, I feel that it was intensionally assigned as a scene to showcase that Declan’s hate was influenced by Tony but also reasonated the reason why Taggie is entangled with Rupert. Electra’ s syndrome where women fall for men that have the same personality as their father. She sees a lot of her father (which she admires) in Rupert. It may be far fetched but hear me out. Maud is a really bad mother to her children, especially Tags, which she is jealous because of her youth and beauty and she calls her retarted and stupid. Declan on the other hand, has a drinking problem, is a workaholic who rarely goes to his house, has anger issues and has been in a weird relationship with his wife (he enjoys other men watching Maud, lusting after her, being desired and sleeping with them) but as a father he loves Taggie (I think she is his favourite because in their house she’s the only person that is not problematic and tries her best to care for them).

2. Declan immediately saw the way way Rupert was watching Taggie at the pub and said “Stay away from Taggie, you’re old enough to be her father”. So if Taggie is 20 years old (in the books she’s 18) that makes Rupert 40 (in the books he’s 38). The dirt he gathered for Rupert and his secret weapon he will use it when he finds out about AngelBlack (I love the ship name, kudos ❤️❤️ to the person that suggested it).

3. The way he calls her “Angel” is his way of seeing the celestial light, she is an innocent creature, full of love, care and compassion for animals, people, her family. She’s an introvert who loves her own space, likes to provide comfort and love to others but also she didn’t choose this role. She’s not the typical 20 year girl. She’s like a mother figure, she takes care of the household, she cooks, she tries to help other people, her father, her sister while at the same time she tries her best to make her life better, to overcome her own difficulties (dyslexia)- As someone who has dyslexia I can assure you that is difficult, I’m lucky in a sense because while it was 20 years ago (I was in first grade) and it was when my teacher noticed and informed my parents, they didn’t dismissed her and they took me to speech and occupational therapists and is not bad (I read-write-think perfectly without a grammar mistake and when I tell people that I have dyslexia they don’t believe me because I’m the devils advocate and they tell me I should be a lawyer because I’m always 5 steps ahead. But I have a terrible ADHD brain disorder and I can’t remember stuff I read a day before and I can’t concentrate to read and understand what I’m reading/I have also a bad anxiety disorder so while I read I can’t get my mind to remember shit and get anxious and start crying and feel like I’m an idiot because I read the same paragraph 15 times to comprehend what I’m reading and wherever how hard you study and you try you always fail miserably). Mind you that this was 20 years ago in Greece which is not a place that people have empathy or tolerance toward someone else being different than them (even some teachers back then didn’t want me in their class or they didn’t want to help me study because they though I was slow and dummy and some of my classmates were the same). Therefore, I love the representation of people with learning disabilities and how difficult is for them to navigate life. And in the 80’s when so little things were known back then. Thus, Taggie is a fallen angel, she pays for other people’s sins, she is a pure sensitive soul, who from a young age she is always puts other people’s needs first, she keeps her distance, doesn’t try to make herself visible to others, doesn’t take space, attention, affection and love (only her siblings love her continuously as we saw at the hug scene of the NYE episode but I feel like the love her like a mother figure and not as a sister). Rupert’s sees all of that, her sacrifices, her fierce nature to others and her willingness and is drawn to her like a dog needs water, he is the devil and she will redeem him from himself. Someone on Tik Tok mentioned that the bedroom scene from the NYE episode was directed to Rupert’s emotional state. He is in a cold place, he doesn’t care about anyone or tries to give this impressions, he doesn’t see his children because his ex wife didn’t want him anywhere near them, he finds comfort between women’s legs but is temporary and he is a shell of himself and his glory days. And as he puts Taggie to sleep and they look at each others eyes, the celestial light shines bright making Rupert feel warmth inside of him, like all his sins will be consumed.

4. From all the people in NYE episode he was the only one that went into the kitchen and told her to relax and have fun, no one other cared to bother to remember that she existed (expect Patrick and Caitlin). He took care of everything that needing to be taken care of, he protected Charle’s photo of panic attacks getting on paper, he payed the DJ’s, cleaned up and went home. Acts of service. He saw Taggie in an fragile emotional state, feeling unlovable, unworthy, unable to cope with all of this pain and wanted to help her. He talked to Freddie and wanted all three of them to make the franchise in order for Taggie to not leave and because she was devastated by her father losing his job, credibility and leave the town she liked for once in her life. Rupert saw all of this. She had the world on her shoulders at such a young age and wanted to make her happy.

5. The line “What if no one ever loves me?” is a parallel to Rupert’s own thoughts. He confessed to never have been in love in Declan’s show.

6. The way that he was jealous of Ralphie and said that she can do so much better than him and watched intensely and wanted to throw hands for hurting her in the worst way, of Seb who took her to the movies meanwhile he was fucking Cameron.

7. He cared about her opinion of him. He doesn’t give a fuck or pretends to to other people’s opinions but with Taggie he’s eager to learn what she feels of him and he starts slowly to unmask himself from his persona. He gave her an egg jewel and not something mainstream which he would get for other women (for example the bracelet). He was pleasantly surprised by the fact that she accepted his apology but not his gift, because he is so used to pay his way into women’s hearts-pants and Taggie returns it. Also I believe that the egg jewel was a personal gift in which he choose himself whereas all the others were picked by the Jewerly stuff or his assistants.

8. He wants her empowered and to speak her mind. In the episode of the killing of the birds which she did the catering, he pursue her to admit that she will not do another catering job for hunting/killing innocent animals.

9. Rupert’s worry of Taggie’s accident and the way they hugged each other, especially him, the realisation that shr could have been dead. He immediately drove the car and Taggie home because she was so upset that she couldn’t drive and when he heard the tape of the directions, he offered both of them to go to the tours around city promoting Venturer.

10. The way that I HATED HIS GUTS/ LOATHED HIM in the first episodes and couldn’t fathom the fact that they’re a ship and slowly we saw him change, yearning and longing for a glimpse of her, like he see his true self come to the surface and be vulnerable when he sees her . As Bas said “crushing like a school girl”. A 40 year old playboy with a lot of issues that wants his partners daughter which he promised that “she’s out of bounds” and everything is complicated, he could loose everything, his money, his house, his position as a minister, Declan, Freddie, Taggie and his entirety of his life. Talk about complicated and difficult.

Basics of Tumblr-based memetics for reddit refugees

When people arrive at Tumblr, they are generally unsure about how to handle themselves. The buttons are easy enough (I mean, the UI sucks, but it's 2023, we're all used to sucky UIs by now, so....), but what are the social implications of each one? What does a reblog mean?

This is very difficult to explain to people for whom this is their first social media site, or are arriving here from (eg) Facebook. But for this round of refugees, from Reddit specifically, I actually can explain. Because!...

....As you have no doubt noticed ....

.... in a world where we all use 4 websites, and each of them consists of content screenshotted from the other 3....

...there is not an equal distribution of who's making content and who's copying it. Facebook generates almost none of the content for other websites; Twitter generates some; but nearly all of the content on the modern internet is generate on Reddit or on Tumblr.

There is a reason for this: all "web 2.0" sites have the ability to generate new memes, and new variants on those memes. But only Reddit and Tumblr have an evolutionary pressure that forces those memes through a natural-selection process. On Reddit, that pressure is applied by the voting system: if an addition to a post doesn't get enough upvotes, it's hidden from view, which means it has limited ability to affect the next generation of posts.

On Tumblr, the equivalent evolutionary pressure is applied by reblogs: each version of a post, each set of additions, is seen in proportion to how many people reblog it, and thus cause other people to see it. Lack of reblogs -> lack of visibility -> limited ability to affect the next generation of posts.

So with that in mind, let's look at some nuances that are specific to the Tumblr ecosystem.

1) Reblogs are direct visibility; upvotes are indirect

On Reddit, when you upvote something, it's a signal to the algorithm that -- in your opinion -- this thing is useful/valuable/funny or in some other way worthwhile. The algorithm takes that into account along with everyone else's votes, time since it was posted, and so on, and makes a decision about what to show by default vs what to hide by default, and how to sort things. Upvoting does affect visibility, but it's only one factor.

Whereas on Tumblr, reblogging puts the post on your followers' dashboards directly (assuming your followers have chronological order turned on, which most of them probably do because fuck corporate decisions about what I should and shouldn't see). One reblog = one post on everyone's dashboard; it's as simple as that.

Reblogging is therefore a much stronger evolutionary boost than upvoting is.

2) Likes have very little impact on visibility

Most people have "based on your likes" turned off. Even for those that keep it on, it doesn't affect what other people see, it only gives Tumblr some idea of what you might like to see. Of course behind the scenes that's somehow accomplished with some kind of correlation coefficient about which posts are most likely to be "liked" by the same person, and in that sense a "like" on this post increases the likelihood that someone else who has "liked" other posts that you have "liked" will see this post as well, but it's a very tenuous and wispy impact,.

Liking is therefore a much weaker evolutionary boost than upvoting is, and should be considered more along the lines of a high-five, or a hug, or a "I would give you gold for this if I could afford any" comment.

(Also, you cannot "like" only one section of a post. When you "like", the notification goes to everyone in the chain, from OP to the latest reblog. If you wish to give specific high-fives, the mechanism you're looking for is replies.)

3) Replies have no impact on visibility one way or the other.

Only OP gets notifications for replies, but you can tag people in the reply to notify them. This is the place for "@most-recent-commenter I would give you gold if I could" or for tagging a friend that you think would enjoy the post.

So, with the underlying mechanics of the ecosystem out of the way, let's look at

memetic engineering

There are two ways you can add your thoughts/ideas/opinions/snarky commentary to a post: in the text of the post, or in the tags.

a digression on tags

Tags -- of course -- can theoretically be used to organize content, although if we're being completely honest here, they're not ... great. for that. Tags can be handy as a textual handle to simplify your google search when you use an external search engine to search your own tumblr blog, but their use as an archival tool is mediocre at best. Likewise, no matter what the Tumblr UI says in the tag section, they're not gonna be that helpful in allowing people to find your content.

Tags can also, as sometimes they do on Twitter or Instagram, provide context to a post. This is less important here, since without a character limit there's no need to trim down your commentary and trust #wgastrike2023 to fill in the missing details, but it can be very handy when you're trying to determine whether this "Bruce and his buddies" post is talking about The Hulk or about Batman, or whether this thread is dissing Harry Potter, Harry Styles, or Harry Prince of Wales.

Tags are also very handy for allowing people to continue following you even when there's some sort of interest incompatibility. If you love spiders -- especially pictures of spiders -- and I'm arachnophobic, then I'm probably not going to be able to keep following you, no matter how excellent your Anarchist Star Wars takes are. But if you love pictures of spiders and you tag every single one of them #spiders, then I can block that tag and still keep following you. Similarly, a temporary block on #The Witcher Spoilers can allow the fandom to all discuss a new episode at whatever time they're able to watch it, without having to completely avoid online spaces in the meantime.

And finally, tags can, and are, used for commentary that you don't want to put in the main post. Where that line is -- what to put in the post and what to put in tags -- is something you'll have to decide for yourself as you get experience, but as a general rule, the post is for something that you believe contributes to the memetic fitness of this post, and the tags are for things that you believe are not necessarily of memetic value. Additions to the post are integrated into the DNA, and will be passed on with subsequent reblogs; tags are only added to your instantiation of the post, and will not be included on future reblogs (unless the person who reblogs it from you is on iOS Tumblr Mobile app and hasn't adjusted their settings, in which case it'll go into their tags... but at any rate it'll die out in a generation or two.) This feature makes it good for adding meta-commentary that will be interesting/funny/valuable to your immediate circle of friends, but won't be useful to the population as a whole -- it allows you to be as snarky, in-joke-y, and obscure as you'd like, without having to spend any of your mental RAM calculating what will and won't have an impact on your Brand as an Influencer.

Influencers

There is no easy mechanism for people to see your follower count. There are many easy mechanisms for people to make it impossible to see their follower count. No one cares about how many followers you have or how far your "influence" spreads. No one is going to offer you a Tumblr sponsorship deal.

However, for assorted underlying-code reasons, Tumblr blogs are disproportionately useful for manipulating search engines. So.... we have an ongoing problem with SEO scum making a whole bunch of bots and using reblogs etc to generate fake signals to Google.

The combination of those two things leads to a general Tumblr tradition of Block Bots On Sight. The extra followers aren't helping you, and the mere fact of their existence is hurting all of us. If you've seen people strongly urging you to change your profile picture, add a bio, and reblog a couple things, that's why -- because we don't want you to get caught in the crossfire of our ongoing guerilla warfare.

Other Notes

One of the places that Reddit is much better than Tumblr is in the viewing of an entire memetic population as a whole: you just look at a post, scroll through the page, and Reddit helpfully shows you want you want to see, and hides what you don't.

On Tumblr, each memetic variation is functionally an entirely separate entity. This is great for memetic diversity, but it means there's a LOT of duplication, and it means there's really no good way to get all the variants together. The closest you can get is to "check the notes" -- click on that number at the bottom left of a post, and look through the replies, reblogs, and tags. Those are in chronological order and in no way threaded, so it's not very useful, but it is what we've got.

Let's see ...

One thing Tumblr does much better than Reddit is the ability (because of aforementioned fragmentation) to have an arbitrary number of any fandom. No more "Well I don't like the takes in r/polyamory but it's the only place where I can talk about it so idk" ... nope! Here we can have as many Spider-Man fandoms as there are Spider-Man fans. Really like someone's headcanons? Follow them! Really dislike someone's OTP? Unfollow them! Really hate someone's take on your favorite character? Block them! This is a fabulous feature of Tumblr and I encourage you to take advantage of it.

If you think someone has mis-judged the value of their tags, you can copy them from their post and paste them into the main comment of your reblog. This is known as the tags "passing peer review". Copy-paste is preferred to screenshotting for accessibility reasons (and also the fact that sometimes Tumblr just doesn't feel like loading pictures), and it's considered polite to credit the person whose tags you promoted.

Contrariwise, if you think they mis-judged the value of their comment, you can go back to the person they reblogged from, and reblog without their addition. Tumblr made this harder recently, but I have confidence that we'll defeat them eventually.

I know that I said reblogs are much stronger than upvotes, but when you've got infinite monkeys generating infinite reblog streams, it all gets lost in the noise. Reblog anything and everything you feel like upvoting -- if people don’t want to be subjected to a bunch of random shit that lights up the dopamine receptors in your brain, they shouldn’t be following you on Tumblr.

Anon ask: “what about headcanons about the e class after they graduate? Like when they’re grown ups, have jobs, and try to meet up once in a while.

I’m so sorry this took so long things have been so busy and I’ve been wanting to do something like this forever so I wanted to do quite a lot and obviously I got sidetracked along the way ;;

Also I’m on mobile so I can’t add a read more taggy thingy I’m sorry ;;

But here you go!

The class have an annual meet up at the old class on the day they killed koro. No matter where they are in the world, they will always make it.

Something surprises them every year; one year it was Sugino and Kanzaki's wedding invite, and another was Irina and Karasuma's kid.

A lot of the class got together as couples (I might do my ships in another post heheh)

Despite working fairly far from each other and being busy, everyone keeps in touch.

Rio and Karma remain best friends, Rio sends him little trinkets from London which Karma always displays on his desk.

Karma, Nagisa, Kanzaki, and sometimes Kayano if she's free, get VIP tickets to every one of Sugino's games.

Okajima is a great help to Kayano, Sugino, Yoshida, and Muramatsu as he takes photos of them or their buisnesses to help them promote it.

Fuwa meets the class members often as she likes to know what happened to them after graduation, she collects the info of what’s happened and with Sugaya’s help, she made a manga of their time in E class and what happened after.

Sugaya is the most social of the class in the future, he makes loads of effort to go see even just one of his classmates. He’s actually working on a project of drawing all his classmates to then have it as his “best piece” at his showcase.

Mimura often works quite closely with Hazama and Kayano, Getting scripts or plays from Hazama, and Kayano to act them. He started a small project with them and due to Kayano, he got noticed very quickly. Hazama told him to take all the credit and just put her name as second to the script, she said it was his chance to shine not her’s.

All the art trio have become great friends with Hazama, always checking out their art/photography/film books at her library.

The squad try to meet up weekly at Muramatsu's, Itona still complains about the ramen.

As Terasaka is all over the country as an assistant, so he tends to pick up little things to bring back for the squad.

Muramatsu always brings Hazama, Itona, and Yoshida lunch on his break.

Hazama keeps an eye out for books at her library and tries to force the squad to read the ones she’s picked out for them. She’s also really close with Hara and often gossips about the squad with her.

Itona and Yoshida are basically the technicians for everyone, if anyone has an issue, they're always over to fix it.

Hara is still class mom, especially to the squad. Over the years, she begins to become a babysitter for anyone who needs it.

Kanzaki sometimes helps Hara out if she’s a bit overworked, but also enjoys her own work and being a happy wife, often making sure Sugino is well cared for when he has games.

Okuda tends to stay in touch with the girls, aside from Takebayashi whom she works with. Her confidence sky rocketed and she often likes to plan little coffee dates with them. She misses Kayano the most but Kayano will do anything to stop by once a week.

Okano stays close with Justice- often going to the gym together after they finish for the day. Sometimes Megu might join them for a swim.

Megu is the main carer of the old building, she tends to keep it decorated and the flowers watered. She also dresses it up for any event such as the yearly meetings, sometimes getting help from Sugaya.

After years of working there, Isogai now owns the café after Karma brought the ownership for him. A lot of the class go there to meet so Isogai often sees a lot of his old friends. He’s also training Maehara in being a waiter as a part time side job, definitely not because he wants to spend more time with him.

Maehara kept dating and usually used Muramatsu’s place as a date spot. When he got stood up three times in a row, Muramatsu told him to maybe try and settle down as opposed to rely on random dates. So he decided to get a job with Isogai to see if he could find anyone…;)

Maehara actually tried every girl from E class before he did. Almost getting murdered by the squad for even thinking of pursuing Hazama, and getting a hefty punch to the shoulder from Sugino.

Hayami and Chiba share an apartment (strictly out of career convenience...or so they say) yet they do work at home, and own a cat named Snipe, who Hayami rescued from volunteering at a shelter.

Takebayshi stopped going to his maid cafes and began going to regular cafes. When Terasaka's home, he'll meet up with him, and sometimes try to be his wingman, Takebayashi told him he’s with Ritsu and Terasaka just gave up.

Yada often hosts girls nights to keep all the girls in touch. Once regretted getting them all overly drunk. (I’m so tempted to hc how 3e are when drunk)

Kurahashi likes to take note of where she goes on nature walks to then tell everyone else where the best picnic/date spots are. Once she found a place for a camp to be set up where most of the class joined. They ran out of marshmallows after an hour.

If Kayano is filming anywhere near one of the class, she always sneaks them on set and sometimes as an extra to the scene.

Nagisa is surprisingly the least social of the class, keeping int touch by texts but not actually in person, he’s usually just busy with work. However he always shows up for the yearly meet, often being the one to reminisce about korosensei.

Karma often hosts rather extravagant parties. Rumours say he just wants to show off in competion with Asano, when in reality he just misses his old class. (Maybe a fic about this..)

Taggy thingy

I got tagged be @kangamommynow to answer these (thanks!), so here goes:

1. What was your first concert? My first concert was by the British boy band Bros (o’ ye of little fame). Check them out here (also notice the cameraperson’s weird obsession with the lead singer’s belt buckle).

2. Who is someone that inspires you? Why? Transgender people who live their true selves generally inspire me. I’m always questioning how the outside world sees me (female? male? in between?), instead of just doing my thing and not giving a fuck what anyone thinks.

3. What is something you would do if you were brave enough to try (assuming that you could afford it/do it/get to it, etc) I would travel around the world. It sounds so simple for so many people, but for someone with no sensory filters, going outside is very exhausting, let alone traveling around the world.

4. What is your all-time favorite movie scene? Sarah chasing after her baby brother Toby in the stairwell that looks like an Escher painting towards the end of the movie Labyrinth. To me, this stairwell symbolizes so many things in life, like happiness, and love. Only when you stop chasing and dare to jump (and let go of the chase) will you find what you seek.

5. Other than a family thing (birth of child, marriage, etc), what would you say is the highlight of your life so far? Finally realizing that I’m a non-binary transmasculine person and feeling this huge shift inside of me that finally made me feel aligned with myself. I don’t know if that makes sense to anyone reading this, but that’s the best way to describe the feeling.

6. What is some advice you would give to your younger self, if you could? Don’t be afraid to be as masculine as you feel inside, it’s natural and part of who you are, so stop trying to be a “good girl” and just be yourself.

7. If you could “uninvent” something, what would it be? Alcohol. It has wrecked so many families, mine included.

8. What do the people in your life do that makes you feel loved and cared for? What would you like them to do? (friends, family, partners included) I actually have a hard time accepting help, love, and care from others. Somehow my stupid brain always thinks I don’t deserve any of it. But I’m working on it. Most of all I would like them to give me space and leave me alone when I need it, which they already do, as they are aware of my sensory issues. They are very kind about it, too.

9. Got a nickname?  What is it? Dean. As in Winchester. But only my BBF Sammy (who is actually called Sarah) is allowed to use it. Our relationship is very much like the brothers’, and our characters are very similar to them (it’s quite eerie sometimes, to be honest), and when we realized this a decade or so back, the names just stuck.

10. Do you usually follow your head or heart or gut? I used to follow my head a lot more, which got me into trouble when it came to human relationships, so now I’m trying to follow my gut more when it comes to people. In all other regards, it’s a mix of both with a slight emphasis on the head.

11. A local radio show lets you have a 30 minute time slot weekly to broadcast whatever you want.  What’s your show like? I would invite what some might call “everyday people” and talk to them about their lives, their dreams, their goals. Everyone has a story to tell, but sometimes we forget this and think only movie stars and other famous people are interesting. That’s not the case, folks. Every human being is interesting!

12. What is something you forgot once that you will never forget again? Just because someone is nice to you doesn’t mean they will do you no harm or mean you no ill. Being autistic, it is often very hard for me to “read” anything that isn’t obvious in people’s words or behavior. I have trusted too many people in my life which weren’t deserving of my trust, simply because I assumed that nice to me equalled them meaning well.

Writer Taggy Thingy

I was tagged by @watergirl1968 !

1) How many works do you currently have in progress?

I think about 5 or 6... I can’t stop coming up with new ideas!

2) Do you/would you write fanfiction?

I do write fanfiction! I’ve come to love it more than I ever thought I would. I enjoy writing AUs the most because I love the freedom to explore new worlds with characters I already know and love. It feels like the story never ends because there is always something new to explore.

3) Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

I honestly love the smell of books and the feeling of them in my hands. I like turning the pages, and getting lost in them. I enjoy reading until my eyes can’t stay open anymore and seeing just how many pages I’ve turned.

However, I also love reading fanfiction and I couldn’t do that without being able to read online. I’d have to say I like both for different reasons and it depends on my mood.

4) When did you start writing?

Well I suppose technically that first happened in school. However, I HATED writing as a child I loathed it. The first time I ever actually enjoyed writing was when I was 16, but I wouldn’t admit it at the time.

5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

I share all my work with my brother, even if he doesn’t always have time to read it. He’s my best friend and I value his opinion highly. However, I also have a few other people that I’ve shared particular stories with and who have helped me shape them and give me a sounding board. Without them, I may not have had the confidence to publish some of my stories.

6) Where is your favourite place to write?

Either in my room with incense burning and coffee or tea. Or at a quite coffee shop where they sell some of the best chocolate mousse!

7) Favorite childhood book

The Velveteen Rabbit. It made me cry as a child, but I still loved it.

8) Writing for fun or writing for publication?

I write to publish, but it’s also fun. I don’t think you have to pick one over the other. Both can go together and I wouldn’t publish if it wasn’t fun also. (So far I’m only really on AO3 though)

9) Pen and paper or computer?

My hand cramps if I write with a pen too much. My handwriting is also pretty sloppy unless I try hard. I use my smartphone and my laptop that share my files so I can switch between them depending on my mood.

10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?

I didn’t take any writing classes outside of high school, but I did have writing projects for the classes I took in college.

11) What inspires you to write?

I can’t pinpoint one thing that inspires me. Sometimes it’s an experience, sometimes a song or image, and sometimes a kink or a prompt. I just try to be open for inspiration and if something is meant to be written, it will find me.

12) Pick one of your fics and talk about why you wrote it!

For this, I’ll choose Online Dating. I love all of my fics and get excited about them all, but this one is closer to my heart. It was inspired by experience and when I first thought of it I COULD NOT go to sleep until I had written most of the first chapter. I’ve never had a story basically demand me to write it like that. It was a unique experience.

The story itself is centered around mental illness and how it can deeply affect a person and the people around them. I, myself have two mental illnesses and I’m honestly really tired of the stigma that goes with them. I’ve had people stop talking to me when they found out that I had them or only be able to offer superficial pity. I really feel that mental illness in very misunderstood and it’s because for a long time it wasn’t talked about, or if it was it was in a negative sense. This story gives me a voice to reach others in a different kind of way. If you’re reading it, we already have a fandom in common. That makes it easier to relate to my audience, even if the subject matter may be difficult to read or digest at times. If I can reach even one person and help to normalize mental illness for them, that makes me feel good. It makes me feel like I have a voice and I don’t have to be silent, and I can make a difference.
