currently updating: prtygrl scent reviews 🍰🎂🧁
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
perfume oils
1. strawberry cake
my absolute favorite perfume oil of hers! it has a strong, sweet strawberry cake smell and i love using it with every single strawberry lotion, body oil, and perfume of mine! i loved it so much that i had to purchase it twice. i definitely need this scent in a body nectar + body milk version as well.
2. cozy sugar
i actually bought this one for my mom, but it has a soft and sweet sugary scent! it goes perfectly with any vanilla or cashmere perfumes / lotions!
3. cake pop
very soft & subtle!! it smells like a sweet vanilla cake + icing. i actually paired it with the pink sugar oil and they smelled so good together. i'll definitely be doing that more often
4. pink sugar
totally reminds me of the aqoulina pink sugar mist! if anything it smells a little better and it's not as powdery which can be a little overwhelming at times
5. sugar cookie
i don't like this at all... i didn't like the way it smelled in the bottle so i put some on my arm and it was okay, but then it just grossed me out?! i tried pairing it with my vanilla cashmere lotion + sweet tooth perfume combo and i still disliked it. i ended up tossing it, but so far this is the only prtygrl item that i disliked!
6. flower fields
i also disliked this when i first smelled it. it smells kinda weird in the bottle? i put some on my arm and i ended up liking it though! it's like a fresh flowery scent and i think i might use this with my daisy dream by marc jacobs perfume.
7. warm cream
a creamy vanilla scent that goes good with anything vanilla scented and more! i personally love layering vanilla scents with something strawberry or fresh like.. it smells so good to me! if you want to play it safe for your first purchase, i definitely recommend!
body nectars
1. strawberry vanilla macaron
my faaave body nectar from prtygrl! it has a heavenly sweet strawberry scent and when i put it on my body i was literally glowing. it's also strong too and very long lasting. pair it with the strawberry dream eos lotion + daisy love by marc jacobs you'll smell edible. i'm literally obsessed with this scent and i desperately want this in a shimmery version / a shimmery body milk as well! if you're a sweet strawberry lover then you will love this 100%!
2. brown sugar baby
omg how do i describe this.. it smells like a brown sugar syrup to me? something thats in a sweet yummy drink? that isn't bad at all because it smells delicious and edible! i love pairing this with vanilla scented perfumes and also the cinnamon buns body milk! this is easily my second favorite body nectar.
3. pink sugar
smells pretty much the same as aqoulina pink sugar mist. this smells a bit more powdery than the perfume oil which i don't mind since it's soo nice. it's also very light and not a very strong scent which i find nice to layer with!
4. strawberry milkshake
so delish and truly smells like a real strawberry! i can also smell slight milky notes too and i jus love it. it's also subtle and perfect for layering as well so i enjoy using this with my strawberry cake perfume oil + other strawberry fragrances that i own!
5: strawberry shortie
this definitely smells like strawberry shortcake / a strawberry pastry! it has a warm cake scent + the perfect amount of sweetness thats not too overwhelming or overly sweet. this is perfect for the people that want to smell like a strawberry pastry, but one that may not be overwhelmingly sweet.
body milks
1. brown sugar baby
smells exactly like the body nectar. these have a thick consistency and once rubbed it, it's just as shiny as the body nectars! i love using this on top of my vanilla cashmere eos lotion + vanilla scented perfumes / cake pop & warm cream perfume oil.
2. cinnamon buns
would you believe me if i said it smells like a freshly made cinnamon roll? my first impression of it is a strong cinnamon scent, but after putting it on it a lot like sweet cinnamon rolls! once again, perfect for using on top of vanilla cashmere eos lotion + warm cream perfume oil.

The current outfit ive been loving her in is a burgundy tank top, black pants, black boots, black driving gloves, black and white studded bracelets, a necklace with a red pendant, and a black choker, sometimes a jacket, and sometimes yellow round sunglasses.
♡What do they wear when they "Get dressed up"? And what would be considered a "special occasion" to them {such as an "Oh they're gonna be there so I have to look my best." Or an "It's our anniversary".} I haven't dressed her up in anything fancy yet but she'd probably wear a dress. Nothing too eye catching since thats not really her style but something cute for sure!
♡What do they smell like? {For example: they smell like cinnamon flavored liquor, cigarettes, leather, and motor oil.} Cherry scented lotion, she's not really into perfumes or anything like that.
♡How do they walk? Do they sway their hips? Do they walk with a sense of determination? Do they bounce as they walk? Etc. I've always imagined her swaying her hips as she walks but I've also imagined her with a bit of a bounce if she's listening to her music.
♡Are they more of an early bird or a night owl? Kinda both? She loves waking up to go on jogs but sometimes she's just way too tired and will sleep in which leads her to staying up late. Then it's a struggle to get a proper sleep schedule again lmao. She does love staying up late though because she has no obligations at night and she can be cozy in her apartment and play video games!
♡If you had to use one word to define them, what word would you use? Chipper

♡Favorite Season Summer.
♡Favorite type of weather {Thunderstorms, sunny, etc} She loves all types of weather! Thunderstorms and rain are soothing to her, sunny is nice because she likes to feel the warmth of the sun on her skin, foggy because it reminds her of her favorite spooky video games, haha!
♡Do they have someone they're with relationship-wise? If so, who? Ok, I know I said I based off Vash but I also ship her with him too!
♡Main Ship/Pairings Phoenix x Vash
♡Side Pairings N/A
♡Favorite/Self-indulgent Pairings N/A
♡How do they show affection to their loved one? She loves buying random gifts that remind her of her loved ones, unless getting random gifts makes them uncomfortable then she'll just call or text them to see how they're doing.
♡How do they sit in a chair? She sometimes likes to slouch back like reeaaalllly far to where it almost looks like she's trying to lay down lmao.
♡How do they sit in a chair {uncomfortable version} Gotta have her feet up in the chair, sometimes she's sitting with her legs crisscrossed. She also has a footrest by her computer if she's going to be sitting there for a while so she can stretch out without standing up.
♡What do they wear to bed? Sometimes just a t-shirt and panties, and sometimes a tank top and shorts.
♡How do they usually sleep? {Side sleeper, back, fetal position, backwards, nest sleeper, blanket mountain, etc} Side and back sleeper but she doesn't sleep on her back too often because for some reason it gives her nightmares.
♡How do they sleep in a place they don't know? {Can't due to anxiety, in small bursts of sleep that are short lived, holding themselves, etc} She's actually ok with sleeping in an unfamiliar place.
♡Do they have to have a form of "white noise" in order to sleep? {The sound of a fan, the sound of rain, the sound of a city, etc} When she's in her own apartment she has turns on the little fan by her bed. It doen't always have to be facing her but she does enjoy the sound. She'll also sometimes fall asleep listening to podcasts or music.
♡What's a place they go to feel comfortable, that's their "spot" they always go when they're upset? Her bed, lmao!
♡What do they do when they're nervous? {Fidget with jewelry, pick at nails, bite nails/lips, play with knife/zippo lighter, etc} If she has something small in her pocket she'll fidget with whatever it is or she'll roll her necklace pendant between her fingers.
♡What is their "tell" for lying? She's very good at lying but if someone really knows her they can tell she's lying about something when the corner of her eye or mouth twitches. It's very subtle because she's learned to control it more but telling lies in general makes her super nervous.
♡What is their favorite color? Burgundy, red, yellow, orange, and black.
♡Favorite flower/plant Hibiscus flower
♡Favorite sweet of choice Donuts
♡Do they have any pets? If so, tell me about them She doesn't have any pets officially but sometimes she does get visited by a little kitty cat!
♡What are their triggers {If they have any}? If so, what calms them down? Currently, she has no triggers.
♡If they could visit anywhere in the world, where would they go and why? Anywhere quiet and not a busy city lmao! She needs a break!

♡Do they have a food they hate? Mushroom, she hates the texture.
♡What is their favorite {non-alcoholic} drink? Cold coffee loaded with sugar!
♡What are their plans for the future {if they have any}? Make enough money to just live comfortably and hopefully move away from the city.
♡What's a song that "fits" them? Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf
♡Give me 5 facts/random bits of information about them 1. Her dad taught her how to use a gun but she honed her skills herself as she grew up. 2. Her favorite ways to pass the time are reading comics and playing video games. 3. Her favorite places to chill are either in bed or at El Cojo Coyote. 4. She has a gun she wont hesitate to use but she refuses to kill anyone. 5. She absolutely cannot get through animal movies because she will cry.
♡Give me their backstory {can be long, or brief.} She's still new so I dont really have anything for her yet :((
♡Free Space! Give me any sort of extra information about them you'd like to share -Her voice claim is Moira Kelly who played Nala from The Lion King. -When she was a kid she loved making 'potions' in the bathroom sink but she'd get in trouble for it every time. -She'd also run up stairs like a dog when she was a kid and it embarrassed her parents when she did it out in public.

The Scents of the Mankai Company Troupes - Part 1
Spring Troupe (Act 1 only)
Sakuya Sakuma Freshly cleaned linens
Sakuya may be young, but he’s very eager to do his best in all areas of life. To me, that means he’s likely the one to do laundry the most often. All that time spent washing and hanging the clothes and sheets leads to not only his clothes smelling fresh and clean, but also to that lovely aroma simply emanating from him most of the time!
Masumi Usui Whatever the Director likes
Let’s be honest here. Masumi has one goal and it is to please the person he’s obsessed with - which, in this case, is Izumi/the Director. Be that as it may, he very likely will investigate her favorite scents and immediately go about making sure he smells like that all the time. The Director said she likes the smell of apples? Get ready to see Masumi purchasing apple-scented shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and- is he rubbing raw apples on himself? I’m-???
We can only hope one day he will find a scent that he can call his own simply because he likes it.
Tsuzuru Minagi Old books & lavender
Since he’s a writer and a bookworm, I strongly believe that Tsuzuru would have the faint whiff of books on him most of the time. That nostalgic scent of old paper and ink would come from his hands and sometimes even his face, since we all know this fool falls asleep reading in the library like the tragic college student he is. I also have a headcanon that his little brothers like the scent of lavender for their laundry because it helps them sleep better to breathe in the calming scent in their clean sheets. Therefore, Tsuzuru still washes his laundry in the soft and soothing scent of lavender, even though he’s been at the Mankai dorm for a long time now. (I highly doubt he’d let Sakuya do his laundry for him, either, bless him.)
Itaru Chigasaki B.O. & Doritos Classic Old Spice After-Shave
Itaru is a man with many hats. Well, really it’s two hats. By day, he is a business professional. By night, he is a gaming heathen who wishes he didn’t have to bathe. We know this and we love him for it. Being a professional, wearing a strong-smelling cologne isn’t exactly ideal because those with sensitive noses will complain about him stinking up the office. The subtle but sexy smell of Classic Old-Spice hits just right for work days. Smell like a man, but not too strongly.
When he isn’t at work or keeping other troupe members company, I’d bet you he doesn’t bother putting on deodorant or making sure he isn’t covered in the residue of his last late-night snack. Mmm......................
Citron Frankincense & Myrrh
Citron, our prince, our man from a foreign land, our gentlemanly oddball. I imagine him to enjoy a classy, spicier scent. Frankincense and myrrh create a gorgeous aroma that’s fit for someone as unique and intriguing as Citron. Frankincense, with its notes of wood and citrus, compliment the earthy and sweet notes that Myrrh is bringing to the table. Basically, Citron smells really good and, yes, I am willing to die on this hill.
Stay tuned for more smelly headcanons about these precious lads!

Evangeline’s Edition: Current Favourite Products
I’m always trying beauty products, and as a result, I’m always asked what my favourite products are, so here I’m bring you “Evangeline’s Edition”, a round up of the current products that I’m obsessed with and give my tick of approval.
Tumblr media
Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint
For some strange reason, it often seems that tinted lip balms dry out my lips rather than hydrating them. Whilst many tinted lip balms may feel comfortable at first, I find once the product has worn off my lips always seem to be quenching for moisture. That was not the case with the Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint, which has instantly become a favourite product of mine! Ultra smooth, buttery and creamy, these tinted lip balms glide over the lips with the uttermost ease, smoothing over texture and any flakiness on the lips. The buttery formula means each lip balm has a beautiful shiny and glossy finish without any stickiness and once the shine has worn away lips are still left with gorgeous subtle stain! The shades are sheer (but still have a little colour) making them perfect for no makeup days and a natural look.
Chantecaille Flower Harmonizing Cream Moisturiser
Chantecaille is a brand that I haven’t personally had much experience with, an odd product here and there, I haven’t really experimented a lot with the brand. Recently I received the Chantecaille Flower Moisturiser and I must say, I’m incredibly impressed. The formula is perfect for drier skin types (like mine) and Is the perfect rich, emollient, and nourishing cream, it is packed full of nutrients, oils, and butters yet it still feels comfortable and lightweight on the skin, with only a small amount needed to give beautiful nourishment to the skin.  The scent is on the strong side (read: a deep floral) and is very similar to what you would find from skincare brand Jurlique. After using the cream for the first quarter of the year, I’ve noticed an improvement in the texture of my skin (foundation goes on much smoother) I have no dry and flaky patches, and I wake up with glowing skin without any greasiness.
Weleda Skin Food Lip Balm
Weleda are expanding their famous “Skin Food” line into a range of skincare products, no longer just limited to the all-in-one multi-use product, a body lotion, lip balm, and light variation are three new additions well worth trying. The Skin Food Lip Balm has quickly become a firm favourite of mine, giving major hydration and nourishment to dry lips. The lip balm features all the great attributes of the original skin food. The formula is of a thicker, balmier consistency which really works to lock in moisture and create a barrier to protect the lips. The squeeze tube makes application easy (and much more hygienic than a pot) and it is a fantastic product to use before sleeping.
Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot
Tarte eyeshadows are some of my ultimate favourites (especially the rainforest of the sea collections) I’ve been obsessed with the finger foil eyeshadow palette since it launched a few years ago, and I’m super excited that tarte have launched a similar version in an individual pot form. Super pigmented, these creamy eyeshadows are best applied with the fingertips and give intense, foiled colour with just one swipe across the eyelid. The lighter shades also make beautiful highlighters for not only the inner corners of the eyes, but the face too! Although they have such intense colour pay off, the shadows are still easy enough to blend, and other shadows still layer well over the top. Try and use a synthetic brush to blend for the best results.
Too Faced It’s Bananas Setting Powder
I’ve always been quite hesitant when it comes to banana powders for brightening and setting the skin, having such fair, porcelain skin I’ve found that many banana powders tend to show up as quite yellow on my skin making me look sallow, slightly orange, and ghastly, but the Too Faced Tutti Fruity powder may have changed my opinion on banana powders altogether. The face powder contains 3 “Banana’s” which are dispersed in a sheer, ultra-fine and translucent powder, the two blend together to create a perfectly slightly tinted yellow tone which helps to correct redness and brighten up dull complexions. By having a mix of both shades, you can really alter and customize the colour to suit your preference, picking up a little more of the translucent powder if you tend to be on the fairer side, or concentrating more on the yellow bananas if you lean a little deeper.

Fragrances Perfumes cologne for men cologne for women
The fragrance industry is a multi-billion dollar business and it shows no signs of slowing down. Fragrances are the most popular type of cosmetic product sold in the world.
Tumblr media
There are many factors to consider when choosing a fragrance. A scent can change your mood and personality. It can make you feel good, or it can make you feel bad. The fragrance also lasts on your body longer than any other product, so although a perfume isn't something that you use every day, it makes a permanent impression on the world around you.
Fragrances
The fragrance industry is a multi-billion dollar business and it shows no signs of slowing down. Fragrances are the most popular type of cosmetic product sold in the world. There is a large selection of fragrances for both women and men, with even more options available for children.
Fragrance comes in many forms: perfume ariana grande cloud, colognes (also known as eau de cologne), lotions and even oils. The difference between these types of products is primarily their concentration level; perfume has a higher concentration than cologne or eau de toilette, which means that it lasts longer on your skin than other products do.
The next step would be to choose what type of scent you want to wear; this will depend on whether you want something subtle or bolder than normal. If you think about how much time goes into finding just the right scent then choosing one should not be difficult at all! Not only does each person have different tastes but also different body chemistry so keep this in mind when making your purchase decision today!
Perfumes
Perfume is a combination of fragrant essential oils, aroma compounds and fixatives. It's made from natural ingredients, but it can also be synthetic.
Perfume is a concentrated form of fragrance, which means that it contains more oil than eau de toilette or eau de parfum (the other two types of perfume). Perfumes are generally 20%–30% aromatic compounds.
cologne for men
Cologne, also known as eau de cologne, is a fragrance that has its origins in Cologne, Germany. It was originally created by Johann Maria Farina who was born in Parma but moved to France where he began creating perfumes. He was the first person to introduce alcohol into perfume (instead of water) and this process became known as "rectification".
The method of using cologne is quite simple: after you have bathed or showered, simply splash some on your skin and rub it in lightly with your palms until absorbed. You can apply more if necessary but make sure not to overdo it! If you find that your favorite cologne smells too strong for day-to-day use (or if someone else does), try diluting it with water or unscented lotion before applying!
cologne for women
Women's fragrances are often floral, fruity or musky. The most popular scents for women include floral, citrus and fresh scents. Popular colognes for men tend to be woody and spicy.
If you're looking for a cologne that will complement your personal scent profile, consider whether you prefer a fresh clean note or something more complex like earthy tobacco or sweet vanilla. If you have sensitive skin or live in an area where the temperature fluctuates between hot and cold throughout the year (like I do), it's important to find a fragrance that works well year round so that it doesn't clash with your daily routine!
You don't have to be obsessed with Ariana Grande to enjoy Cloud.
You don't have to be obsessed with Ariana Grande to enjoy Cloud. In fact, you can use it for any occasion, whether it's a romantic evening or just a day at the office. It's also a great gift for someone who likes to smell good.
As far as cloud goes, this perfume is great at what it does: smelling good! If you're looking for something that will last all day long and make everyone around you jealous of how awesome they think you are then look no further than Ariana Grande’s new perfume Cloud by Ariana Grande. This fragrance has notes of lotus blossom, pink peony and amber woods – as well as musks which give it depth and richness while keeping everything feminine so that everyone knows where they stand when they smell this on them (and trust me when I tell ya that by wearing this stuff people WILL know!).
Conclusion
Fragrances can be a great gift for a loved one in your life. The range of fragrances available is huge and there are many different scents to choose from. There are perfumes for men and women, so you can find something that everyone will like. You can also find colognes which last longer than perfumes do but still smell amazing!
Take some time out today if you want to find the perfect fragrance for someone special in your life or just treat yourself with some new perfume or cologne!

Tumblr media
The time you spend in the bath or shower can be an essential part of your self-care routine. There's just something so soothing about cleansing your body and taking time for yourself, especially after a long day. And while a lot of it has to do with the water temperature and how cozy or comforting your bathroom is, your bath products can make a difference, too. You might have a favorite bath soak or shampoo or face wash, but I think body washes sometimes get forgotten in the mix. Maybe it's because our face and hair are top priorities, or maybe it's because we've been using the same body wash for a decade and are reluctant to try something new. That can be a shame because the right one can really hydrate, smooth, and nourish your skin. Take a look at some of the best-reviewed ones for every skin type below. Beauty editor Erin Jahns recommends this cleanser from Goop. It's made with glacial marine clay, safflower oil, moringa oil, and a blend of essential oils for a luxurious bath experience. One reviewer on Credo Beauty wrote, "I've tried all kinds of body washes that would help reduce the keartosis pilaris on my upper arms, without harsh chemicals. This lathers well, is still very gentle on my skin, and has helped my KP nearly disappear. I like that there is little scent to it and leaves my skin feeling clean, yet moisturized." With a bright citrus scent, Fresh's body wash will really wake you up and leave you feeling refreshed. The foaming gel contains shea butter and vitamins C and E for a hydrating effect. One Nordstrom review reads, "This is my favorite body wash, especially for summer. Gives you a clean smooth feeling and smells wonderful." Gentle but still cleansing, Drunk Elephant's body cleanser contains marula oil and sacha inchi seed oil to moisturize and nourish skin. This one's formulated for all skin types, too. A Sephora reviewer wrote, "This body cleanser is truly one of the best I've tried. It smells delightful even though there’s no fragrance, it's not drying or tightening once you get out of the shower and the scent doesn't linger, and you only need a little bit to go a long way." If you can't get enough of your diffuser, you're going to love the aromatherapy benefits of this cleanser. It contains chamomile, bergamot, and rosewood scents for a calming bath experience. Plus, it will moisturize and smooth your skin. A reviewer on Dermstore said, "I can't get enough of this scent. I want to shower all the time just so I can use it. I love it." We're already obsessed with Byredo's candles, so of course, we're going to love its body products, too. This cleansing wash has a light floral scent. One review on Nordstrom says, "This body wash lathers up just enough, and cleanses in a deliciously soft and gentle way, leaving a subtle scent behind. It's just perfect for facing the day ahead as a pick-me-up, or as a soothing bedtime treat." This gentle cleanser from haircare favorite Ouai features jojoba seed oil, rose-hip oil, and lactobacillus ferment to cleanse, kill bacteria, and hydrate. A Sephora reviewer wrote, "Great body wash. Light, wonderful scent that is not overpowering. I feel very clean and refreshed after using it." Korres's shower gel will help maintain your skin's natural moisture while boosting skin immunity, collagen production, and elasticity. It doesn't contain phthalates, silicone, or parabens. A reviewer on Dermstore wrote, "It leaves my skin so soft and moisturized. A little goes a long way. Also, it smells great." If you're used to sudsy soaps, this editor favorite doesn't foam as much, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get the job done. Aēsop's cleanser has botanical extracts to soften and purify your skin. And it's perfectly fine to use as a daily hand soap, too. Another favorite of beauty editor Erin Jahns's, this cleanser is packed with vitamins A, B, C, E and omegas-9 and -6. It's formulated with marula, cacay, and meadowfoam oils for a truly hydrating experience. Like its name implies, this cleanser is made specifically for people with eczema, dry, or sensitive skin. The coconut cleanser gently washes and moisturizes the skin. One Sephora reviewer wrote, "I don't write many reviews, but wow, I had to for this product. My skin is so SO sensitive. It's been trial-and-error trying to figure out what irritates my skin the least when it comes to body wash (or anything). My skin just never felt great, or was itchy, and I'm almost 33, and still have acne on my chest, shoulders, and back! Well, not anymore with this stuff!" Aveeno is a go-to brand for people with dry and sensitive skin, and its body wash doesn't disappoint. The creamy formula contains oatmeal for an ultra-soothing shower experience. One customer on Amazon said, "It has a light citrus scent when smelling it from the bottle, but as you wash with it, there's almost no scent at all. And the texture is beautiful, it's more gel-like. It lathers up extremely well. Once I was out of the bath, there was zero need to put on lotion. Actually putting on lotion felt overkill, this stuff kept me moisturized long after the fact." Eucerin's another brand that people with dry and sensitive skin gravitate toward. I'm partial to its hand cream for my eczema. The calming body wash is formulated with omega oils and natural lipids to help retain your skin's moisture and nourish. An Amazon review reads, "I've been using this product now for well over a year. There is nothing else, literally nothing else I can use without severe drying and skin irritation. Great if you have itchy skin. Lasts a long while." This body wash is one of associate beauty editor Courtney Higgs's favorites. It contains softening ingredients like coconut and jojoba oil. The formula is free of parabens, SLS, silicones, and other chemicals, and it's gentle enough for sensitive skin. Dove works well for sensitive skin. As someone with skin like that, I have always had the brand's body products around. The sensitive-skin body wash is hypoallergenic and sulfate-free, so it's super gentle and non-irritating. An Amazon reviewer wrote, "I have very sensitive skin, and I'm highly allergic to anything that has coconut (oil, butter, etc.) and SPF sunscreen... The scent is not overwhelming at all. It's a great body wash for my sensitive skin." This super-gentle wash is made with 95% naturally derived ingredients, and it's biodegradable, too. You can even use it on your face and hair. A customer at Nordstrom said, "Does not irritate my skin or my keratosis pilaris! Has a very light refreshing scent that is perfect for an everyday fresh and clean feeling. My new forever body wash, now if you can please make body lotion/butter to go with it!" This soap contains exfoliating ingredients, papaya and grapefruit extracts, to clear dead skin cells. And it also has oatmeal, which is great if you have problem skin on your back, chest, and shoulders. One Nordstrom reviewer said, "Leaves your skin soft and [it's] not drying at all! Also the biggest bonus for me it cleared my acne on my back which I've had for years!! It's inexpensive and smells fresh and clean." Humane's face and body wash has 10% benzoyl peroxide to treat acne, kill bacteria, and reduce inflammation. It's also clean and vegan. An Amazon reviewer wrote, "This will cure your acne. I wish I could give it 10 stars. Make sure to be patient, though. It's a long process that will pay off after about three months. But you need to be ready to be dedicated to your skin routine." Murad's body wash contains glycolic and salicylic acids to deep-clean skin and control breakouts. It also has green tea and licorice root extract to soothe your skin. A Sephora reviewer said, "This body wash has been a staple in my shower for three years. I repurchase it over and over because it's the only product I've found that consistently keeps me from breaking out on my back. I miss it and notice a difference on days that I skip it. Highly recommend for anyone trying to control breakouts on the body." The salicylic acid in this body wash will exfoliate and smooth your skin, while the essential ceramides will restore and protect. This one is a good option if you also have bumpy skin or keratosis pilaris. One reviewer on Amazon said, "I have been using this cleanser for over a week now and I am really impressed with it. I notice areas where I had clusters of pimples on my back is practically clear, my ingrown hairs on my thighs are practically gone, and my back thigh bumps are really smoothed out and you can tell they are starting to go away. The thing I notice most about this cleanser is your skin feels really soft afterwards, and not just the softness of exfoliation, but that it is actually helping retain your skin's moisture and protecting it." Proactiv's body wash is formulated with 2% salicylic acid to clear blemishes, unclog pores, exfoliate dead skin cells, and get rid of impurities. A Sephora reviewer wrote, "Regular body scrubs did a good job with the dry skin, but the oils would clog my pores and make the acne worse. Other acne washes would do a good job with the acne, but end up being too drying for my already dry skin. For me, this body wash/scrub nails that sweet spot in the middle of having both dry AND acne-prone skin." Next up, the $20-and-under eye creams that will make your skin look like a million bucks.

Best Long Lasting Perfumes For Women Reviews Since smell is one of the most energetic and most intense sensations in the body, how you smell leaves an impact on everyone around you. You, therefore, need to find a fragrance that meets your style and can last for a long time. But with the various brands in the market, how can you tell if a perfume is long-lasting? Different fragrances are classified according to the characteristics of the various scents. These scents arise from extracts that you can find in flowers and fruits or some synthetic raw material such as aldehyde. The extracts or perfumed oils are mixed with a solvent to seal the pleasant smell they have. The higher the concentration of the oil, the stronger the fragrance. The strength of the scent then determines how long the perfume can last on your skin. Here are some of the best perfumes that can last for a long time on your skin. Calvin Klein OBSESSION Eau de Parfum [amazon box="B0009STDD8" grid="1"] OBSESSION Eau de Parfum is one of Calvin Klein’s best perfumes for women in the market. The brand is famous all around the world for producing authentic and modern products with a minimalist style. Its bold and iconic scents continue to dominate in the perfume world. Obsession, for instance, is an intense perfume with an oriental fragrance. It is addictive and long-lasting.  The fragrance uses intoxicating flowers and spices that include notes from the bergamot and mandarin together with some scents of jasmine and orange blossom to set a provocative and sexy mood. It also has an ambery musk and incense that give it a warm finish. To get the best out of the perfume, spray it 3 to 6 inches away from the surface of the skin. You can use it both at night and daytime. Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker for Women [amazon box="B000C1ZDTU" grid="1"] Lovely is the first perfume by celebrity Sarah Jesicca Parker in conjunction with the House of Coty. The fragrance contains some notes of patchouli, lavender, cedar, rosewood, musk and white amber. The perfume is delicate and made with a feminine touch. Jessica Parker started the fragrance by mixing the scents by herself at home before introducing it to the public. The rosewood and lavender scents mingle with the patchouli and white flower immediately to get a sweet smell that is almost woody. The musk gives the whole fragrance some weight. The perfume has a somewhat modest and subtle presence that is quite delightful. It is ideal to use it during spring throughout the day and carrying it to the evening. Britney Spears Fantasy Eau De Parfum Spray [amazon box="B000P20R8I" grid="1"] Fantasy Eau De Parfum Spray comes as the second perfume by celebrity Britney Spears. It came into the market in 2005. The fragrance is for use by women. It consists of a blend of white chocolate, kiwi, lychee, quince, jasmine, musk, orchid, sensual woods, and orris root. The perfume has a playful and beautiful quality. Its exotic and fruity quality makes it a favorite for most women. Its scent can last throughout the day. Yves Saint Laurent Spray for Women [amazon box="B00NBK5JHK" grid="1"] The Yves Saint Laurent Eau De Parfum Spray is just what the modern woman requires. The perfume is intoxicating and seductive as it contains a rich scent of black coffee, white flowers, and vanilla. It also includes some notes of pink pepper, mandarin, orange blossom, coffee, jasmine, patchouli, cedarwood, vanilla, and pear. Unlike many perfumes that shift from the top notes to middle and finally the base notes, the Yves Saint Laurent Eau De Parfum Spray starts with a deep and warm chocolaty scent and remains there. The perfume would do well in an evening setting. Flowerbomb By Viktor & Rolf For Women [amazon box="B0010VY4HI" grid="1"] You can consider the Flowerbomb perfume by Viktor & Rolf to be an explosion of flowers that opens up with a subtle scent of mandarin and bergamot as it expands to some floral combinations of freesia, osmanthus, centifolia rose and sambac jasmine. It also consists of some notes of patchouli, deep amber warm vanilla, praline and some woody notes that make it addictive. The perfume is ultra-feminine and delivers a delicious yet sensual fragrance. It comes in a theatrical bottle that is elegantly faceted to look like a diamond. It is best for use during the evening during a girl’s night out or when you want to attend a romantic dinner. The creation by Olivier Polge, Carlos Benaim, and Domitille Berthier has won the Allure Best of Beauty Award. How you can make Perfumes Last Longer When wearing perfume on the skin, it is best if you apply it at the pulse points. It includes the areas behind the earlobes, elbows, on the neck and the upper part of the wrist. The fragrance will have the most projection on these areas since it is where the skin warms up. You can as well apply the perfume on the inner side of the knees. You should not rub the scent but let it unfold naturally with the warming up of the skin. When you apply your fragrance, the molecules in the perfume tend to stick to the oils on the skin. You should, therefore, first, use body oil or lotion to give the fragrance a better binding surface. Better yet, a perfume holds best on well-hydrated. It is best if you apply one after having a shower and using an unscented moisturizer. Read Next: Best Musk Perfumes Reviews Summing Up Do you want to have a fantastic scent lasting throughout the day? Using perfume is an age-old practice. It gives you a pleasant smell that can very easily influence your mood and keep you happy throughout the day. Today, numerous perfume brands are trying really hard to release various perfume scent that can reach and attract people all around the world. Therefore, choosing the best from the lot is not an easy decision. However, we do hope that the above list of perfumes can be a great start if you are looking for a great scent that can last you the whole day. So you’ve found your way to another splurge versus save...
Tumblr media
So you’ve found your way to another splurge versus save beauty roundup. But this one is different. Instead of pitting drugstore and luxury products against each other or coming up with a list of dupes, this time we wanted to see what would happen if we (hypothetically) sent eight of our favorite fashion, makeup, and hairstylists  into a CVS and then into a Sephora and told them they could buy whatever they wanted. The result is this list of 41 products.
Here we have the holy-grail makeup, skincare, hair care, and other miscellaneous items Hollywood’s go-to fashion and beauty gurus shop at two wildly different retailers. Keep scrolling to see their beauty secret weapons, from $5 eyeliners to $88 facial peels, and everything in between.
“This a product my entire family uses. An amazing detangler for myself and the kids. Smells like a tropical vacation.” “It's two masks in one, so you can personalize to your own skin type or needs. It gives you actual results at an affordable price.” “I live for bedtime baths, and these Epsom salts are so soothing and help me relax after a long day. Best to soak at least twice a week.” “I wear this every day. It gives me an even skin tone and glow. Also, I love the SPF 30 protection.” “This is my go-to lip stain. Perfect for those beach/poolside vacations. Plus, the SPF protection is a bonus.” “I am obsessed with this company! Love their products and packaging. After a long day at work the body oil and lotion relax my muscles and I instantly feel better. Do not underestimate the benefits of CBD—life-changing!” “I’m a big fan of the Cetaphil facial wash. It’s great for all skin types, from sensitive to reactive to dry. I never break out from this."  "I have curly, unruly hair, and it’s the one brand I use that smooths my hair without breaking it.” “For those tired nights when you want to wash your face but are too tired to do so. These cleanse thoroughly without drying, giving you the results that otherwise you wouldn’t have.” “A great quick fix for breakouts!” “Amazing for balancing skin after cleansing and before moisturizing, thus avoiding breakouts for reactive skin.” “Perfect for spot coverage for men. Light and allows the skin to shine through.” “I love the easy glide and staying power of these pencils. I use the nude pencil for brightening and canceling redness in the waterline!” “I use this mascara personally and regularly on my clients. I love the inky black color and the soft buildable formula that never clumps!” “These are just enough color without being too harsh and they aren’t drying like many matte formulas. I love giving these to clients for touchups on the carpet because they are an easy-to-apply crayon.” “I use this concealer personally because it works wonders for my hereditary dark circles.” “I am obsessed with these eyeliners and have almost every color in my work kit. They are a creamy and long-wearing dream that can also be blended out as a shadow on the lid before they set. I also love the fun color options they come in!” “Tata Harper is an amazing all-natural line that is also complete luxury. This oil adds and instant glow to the skin. A trick of mine is to put a couple of drops into foundation to sheer it out and add an extra-dewy finish.” “These are my go-to concealers in my kit. They are creamy and lightweight with great light-reflecting and buildable coverage!” “The Holy Grail primer, anti-shine product, sunscreen, and anti-ager all in one.” “Gives volume, length, and definition. Doesn’t crumble, stays put.” “Effective, great scent, and leaves the body glowing but not sticky. ” “Avoid powder buildup with these luxurious papers. Shine away, glow to stay.” “A universal pink, this color looks amazing on pretty much any skin tone.” “I have yet to jump on the spray tan bandwagon, but this lotion does the trick when my tan fades in the winter months. It’s so subtle but really works if you use it consistently. And a little firming doesn’t hurt!” “These eye shadows are incredibly pigmented and really hold. They are the epitome of bang for your buck, and they come in a full spectrum of colors.” “This is my favorite foundation. My skin tends to get shiny, but this has a matte finish and buildable coverage. I use it on myself and all of my clients!” “These have changed my life, and I am not being dramatic. I struggle with hormonal acne and these pads have made the biggest difference.  They are very intense, so I always recommend to start with every couple of nights and work your way up to every night.” “I use this serum every morning before sunscreen.  It helps to brighten, firm, and even skin tone, as well as protect from free radicals. It’s amazing.” “These look so natural and can be used for so many occasions: bridal, special event, and especially on camera.” “A full coverage concealer that will cover anything and, if used right, will look natural and beautiful.” “Such an intense glamour mascara that is bold but doesn’t allow lazy clumps and squared edges. So fierce!” “Doesn’t leave a white cast and never makes foundation crack or separate.” “I constantly have a supply of these as they help relieve eye redness, and they act fast.” “I love to have these in my kit. They come in handy not only for myself but the talent as well to keep their smile food particle–free.” “This comes in handy when the client wants the body to have a bit more glow than a regular lotion will give. Be careful though—a little goes a long way.” “This might be one of the most versatile products in my kit. It’s easy to build color or sheer out.” “A dampened Beautyblender helps to blend foundation and concealer to look like skin. It will also help blend blush or bronzer to appear more skin-like.” “I love the texture and colors.” Next: These are the eight most overrated skincare products, according to a beauty editor.

7 Pumpkin Spice Beauty Products Every Basic B*tch Needs
Tumblr media
It’s officially September, y’all!! Blacking out on a Wednesday will now be looked down upon even if it’s with spiked cider, so plan your weekly drinking habits wisely. There’s shitty weather in New York already and it’s too freezing for shorts by 6pm, which means we’re back to wearing big-ass shirts that we hope pass as dresses and wearing the same pair of leggings at least twice a week because we “forgot” to do laundry. In other words, it’s pumpkin season. Who the fuck waits until September 22nd anyway? A real betch knows fall begins when the PSL is officially added to the Starbucks menu, which looks like it happened this weekend because Starbucks lost their damn minds started an uncomfortably weird livestream of the “PSL Hatch.” In honor of basic bitch SZN and getting judgy looks when you ask the bartender for pumpkin beer, here are pumpkin-inspired beauty products because the limit for our obsession really does not exist. We are such a stone-cold pack of weirdos, AND I AM SO PROUD. As for the haters, you *will* bend the knee this fall.
Walking into work after Labor Day Weekend like:
Tumblr media
1. Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Enzymatic Dermal Resurfacer
Tumblr media
The obsession with pumpkin isn’t for nothing, because the key to having glowing youthful skin lies within this fruit. Wait, can we just take a sec to acknowledge pumpkin is a motherfucking fruit? Guys, my life is a lie. This is why I have trust issues. Excuse me while I attempt to accept this. Okay. I’ve accepted it. Moving on…This exfoliating mask is infused with pumpkin enzymes that brighten and soothe uneven complexions. It eliminates signs that we’re getting old af (bless) and it’s a deep cleanser for clogged pores, giving you hydrated, non-oily, glowing skin. How ‘bout that, pumpkin spice haters?
2. Atlantic Fizz Bath Bomb
Tumblr media
Lush sucks because they don’t have their Halloween shit out yet (I know, how dare they not be a month ahead of the times), but never fear because where there’s me a will, there’s a way. Jersey-based company Atlantic Fizz offers handmade bath bombs made straight from the Atlantic Ocean (the same one that houses the infamous Jersey Shore in Ocean City). Assuming they stray far from waters where drunk Snooki’s and Ronnie’s may piss or vom in, relax and soak your bod with a pumpkin-scented fizzing ball.
3. Bath & Body Works Spiced Pumpkin Cider Shower Gel
Tumblr media
Do you really prep for fall if you don’t buy one of everything from Bath & Body Works’ iconic fall collection? Didn’t think so. Treat yo’self with a basic bitch blend of pumpkin, cider, and cinnamon goodness to moisturize and cleanse with autumn’s most sacred elements. This gel also features pure honey, shea butter, and aloe so you don’t shrivel up and dry out like a dead leaf come October.
4. Ulta Pumpkin Spice Body Lotion
Tumblr media
And then after you lather yourself with pumpkin spice and everything nice, next comes a must-have pumpkin spice lotion. It hydrates the driest of skin types with a shit ton of nourishing vitamins. Plus, this has a non-greasy formula so you def won’t feel like you’re rubbing oil all over yourself.
5. Etat Libre d’Orange Tilda Swinton Like This Eau de Parfum
Tumblr media
I won’t really condone spritzing pumpkin seeds in your face because that’s just borderline psycho and we’re not that crazy, right?*Cue nervous laughter* For an elegant perfume that won’t make everyone choke on their own breath, you want a v simple scent that turns heads and makes everyone wonder WTF you’re wearing, but in a good way. Bring in the upcoming season with an autumn blend of subtle pumpkin, notes of spices sitting in your kitchen, and flirty floral fragrances. Tip: Since some of you def need a daily reminder, spray on your wrists, bottom of your throat, and ends of your hair. Any more than that and you’re sending someone to the hospital with an asthma attack.
6. SMASHBOX Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick – Out Loud
Tumblr media
Kylie Cosmetics’ pumpkin lip kit is already sold out, so that’s when you know basic bitches around the fucking world are ready to jump into their Uggs. A burnt orange lip is honestly perf for fall since it’s a subtle color that you’re not risking looking ghostly or emo with. SMASHBOX obvs never disappoints so you can expect this 8-hour liquid matte to be nothing less. It’s super lightweight, smudge-proof, and keeps your lips looking full AF so you don’t have to apply lipstick like this (Seriously, stop):
Tumblr media
7. Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow Eyeshadow And Powder Blush – Pumpkin
Tumblr media
Real pumpkins have a fuck ton of orange pigments because it’s fucking orange, like duh, and honestly, if you eat enough of it, you eventually will radiate an orange-y glow. Don’t depend on them for a tanning alternative, though—keep that account open at your local salon. Speed up the process by wearing a long-lasting dark orange blush. It’s easy to apply and easily blends with your bronzer. It leaves a shimmer finish so honestly, you could probs do without the highlighter, too.

5 Great Bath & Body Products for Spring
It’s finally happened. Spring is here. And that means one of my favorite things: rain. The smell, the silver skies, couples huddling closer together on their way home, the sound of pellets on a window. Most people scowl immediately at the mention of it raining, but I feel like that’s because they don’t fully know how to appreciate a rainy day. But here are a few products that will definitely make it easier to love.
1. LUSH’s “Don’t Rain on My Parade” Shower Gel ($12.95-$27.95)
Tumblr media
I discovered this one completely by accident. I was roaming with a couple of friends while we were working in Geneva, Switzerland a few weeks ago, and as we were all discussing treating ourselves on our upcoming break, our eyes grew wide and our pace quickened as we spotted a Lush cosmetics on a side street in the city. We were immediately all atwitter about the fragrances and products we loved. We all found our favorite products and gravitated toward them without even saying anything to the salesgirls. But...after a bit of introduction and some conversation, I mentioned that I’d love something perfect for spring. One girl recommended something with violet. Violet happens to be one of my favorite fragrances, especially for spring. So I bite. And one girl pulls out a bottle of “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”
I opened the bottle, took a whiff, and fell in love. You wouldn't expect violet to play so well with blueberry juice and vanilla pod, but it does, and in a huge way. This shower gel smells like rain if you bottle all the best things about it--flowers, romance, and sex. And one of my favorite things is that it really fills up a bathroom. I love when I can take a shower, get out, and have the fragrance on the steam spread throughout my apartment...that lingering taste of pure luxury. And it stays on your skin in the softest way after you towel off and lotion up. Anyone close enough to catch a whiff of your skin after a shower with this is one lucky individual.
2. The Body Shop’s Olive Shower Gel/Body Butter ($10)
Tumblr media
You wouldn’t typically think of olives having a scent, other than the juice from the jars of olives you’re used to in a dirty martini. But this is the exact opposite. The Body Shop’s Olive line is breathtakingly fresh and will stick to your memory like nothing else you could imagine. I still remember being about 8 years old, loving my showers at my aunt Jewel’s apartment where she kept this stuff in abundant supply for herself and my cousins. Even years later, after she stopped buying it for whatever reason, we wandered into a Body Shop in a mall someplace in Illinois and as soon as we smelled the shower gel we were hit with sweet nostalgia. And then, what’s this? A body butter, too?
It reminds me of warm, early spring afternoons, possibly on a Sunday when you have nothing to do but take a long, hot shower, eat an early lunch, and head to the mall with your friends. This shower gel/body butter combo will leave your skin super soft and smelling like a romantic afternoon in Tuscany.
3. Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Hatian Vetiver Body Scrub ($8 on 4allvitamins.com)
Tumblr media
Nubian Heritage is an amazing company whose products are all based in Shea butter, a sort of African cure-all for a number of skin ailments (and the REASON black doesn’t crack.) They’ve got a number of amazing products that feel even better than they all smell, but the Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver line takes the cake.
I’ve chosen the body scrub to remind people that there’s no season when it isn’t important to exfoliate every once in a while. And this scrub will make every exfoliation a special occasion. The combination of relaxing hemp and soothing vetiver remind me of the calm before an island storm. It’s warm and electric, and would draw anyone in closer to you for a better whiff. And of course, a good sugar scrub will leave your skin feeling baby soft to the touch. This is an amazing indulgence at a less-than-indulgent price.
4. Shea Moisture Shea Butter Soap w/ Frankincense & Myrrh ($6)
Tumblr media
Shea Moisture is another highly underrated but top quality skin and haircare line that I absolutely swear by. One of my favorite products of theirs is the Frankincense and Myrrh bar soap. Unlike most bars, this doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or tight at all. And the extracts of frankincense and myrrh (which don’t smell oddly of Christmas in this soap), in addition to the Shea butter base, help calm and heal any problem skin, while also smelling absolutely amazing. Let the steam fill your bathroom and carry this warm but subtle fragrance through your home to remind you of meditation and soft, cozy clothes. Your skin, your nose, and any guests will thank you.
5. Jack Black Turbo Wash ($23)
Tumblr media
Jack Black is a superior men’s bath and body line that I was introduced to about five years ago and I’ve been obsessed ever since. The turbo wash was the first thing I used and my roommate and I eventually had to alternate buying bottles.
This shower gel is the perfect wake-up call on any morning, but rainy days tend to be made brighter by this perfect blend of eucalyptus (a suitable alternative to the chilling effects of peppermint) and juniper berry. Every shower with this delectable elixir makes you feel fresher than you’ve ever felt, and a little bit of arnica will help revive and rejuvenate tired muscles. Every time I’ve ever showered with this I felt like I was one of those unbelievable ripped guys in a soap commercial. And the feeling stuck for the whole day. Follow this up with Jack Black’s lesser-known “All Over” Body Spray ($28) with citrus, mint, & rosemary, and you’ll be the freshest burst of sexy on any rainy day.
These are all products to live by, so get your life, folks. Cheers.

Spring Spa Week 2019: CBD Explained
http://blog.spaweek.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/DIY-CBD-Skincare-500x281.jpg
Meet the wellness industry’s newest obsession: CBD Oil. If you pay attention to skincare, spa, and beauty news,  you know about the latest ingredient sweeping the industry. But even if you’ve kept up with the trend, you may have some questions about CBD oil and how you can use it. We’re here to help. For even info about CBD oil and all its benefits, check out this article from Farma Health.
What is it?
CBD, or cannabidiol, is an oil that comes from resin glands on cannabis buds and flowers. It can also be extracted from hemp or THC.
Sound complicated? It’s not really– CBD is just an oil that comes from the plant cannabis.
It doesn’t have any of the psychoactivity elements of THC, so it won’t get you high, but it is known to have significant medical benefits.
What are the benefits?
CBD is a strong pain reliever and a great anti-inflammatory ingredient, which is why it’s so popular in skincare products, especially for sensitive skin or redness-prone skin. It can also reduce anxiety and depression and control acne.
New studies are always popping up about the benefits of CBD and it has the potential to be used as a treatment for a wide range of conditions: including arthritis, diabetes, MS, chronic pain, PTSD, depression, infections, and epilepsy. It can also be used to help symptoms of some cancer treatments, like nausea.
Is it safe?
In a word: yes. CBD won’t get you high – no matter how you use it. THC is the part of cannabis that has psychological effects – so CBD by itself can’t get you stoned.
CBD Oil isn’t nationally regulated, and that means that the CBD Oil isn products can vary throughout the market and the quality is not always consistent. Look for products from states that have legalized both medical and recreational marijuana, as those will be more carefully regulated.
Is it legal?
It depends where you live. In the 29 states where medicinal or recreational marijuana is legal, CBD is legal. In 17 other states, there are specific laws about what CBD products can be used by who and for what. Check your local laws before making any purchases (most companies making CBD products will only ship to areas where their products is legal.)
Congress recently introduced new legislation seriously adjusting the hemp policy in the U.S. The actual legal implications of this change are complex, but the main takeaway is that it makes some CBD Oil legal throughout the country.
CBD Oil that is derived from hemp plants that are grown under the laws in the Farm Bill is now legal. We know, complicated! This new law will make CBD more accessible to more people throughout the country and will help the products to be more consistently regulated.
How are spas using it?
CBD Oil has become a popular ingredient in the spa industry and we’re seeing new treatments popping up all across the country. There are two treatments that are the most common: the CBD Facial and the CBD Massage. A facial featuring CBD Oil can reduce inflammation and redness in the skin and soothe irritation. A massage featuring CBD Oil is a great de-stresser. The oil can reduce anxiety, soothe sore muscles, and ease tension.
Spas all across the country are offering $50 spa deals featuring CBD Oil. Need to ease tension? Try a CBD Massage at Anta Skin and Laser in New York or CBD Foot Reflexology at Araya Rebirth in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Looking to calm inflammation in your skin? Try a New Groove Hemp Facial at Spa Botanica at Embassy Suites in Concord, North Carolina or an Organic CBD Nourishing Facial at Earth Esthetics in Pleasant Hill, California. Or treat your fingers and toes to a CBD Mani-Pedi at Touch of Sam in Raleigh, North Carolina.
What products should I try?
We’re so glad you asked! Right now, we’re loving:
CBD for Life Pure CBD Eye Serum $32: Eyes need some extra TLC? Treat them with CBD! This magical ingredient is perfect for the sensitive area near your eyes. This formula is gentle and super moisturizing.
Endoca Hemp Whipped Body Butter $82: We could not love this body butter more if we tried. It’s moisturizing, relaxing, soothing, and a great way to unwind after a long day at work.
CBD for Life Pure CBD Hand and Body Massage Lotion $22: In our office, hand cream is key. All day long we’re reapplying and moisturizing our dry hands. That’s why we absolutely love this lotion from CBD for life. It’s moisturizing and has a nice, subtle scent–perfect for everyday use.
Herb Essntls Lip Balm $12: Revive your lips with this delicious lip balm! Cannabis helps your lips prevent moisture loss and keep them hydrated, while the other ingredients in this balm (peppermint, beeswax, and honey) keep your lifts soft and smooth all day long. This is a great lip balm to carry in your bag whenever you need a pick me up.
CBD for Life Pure CBD Face & Body Cleanser $17: This cleanser is gentle, effective, and delightful. We love the way it’s a multi-use option that we can keep in the shower for a great all-around cleanse.
Endoca Hemp Salve $64: Looking for a I-do-it-all product? This salve is the choice for you. The thick balm protects your skin from irritation and can help treat itchy, red, irritated skin. It’s safe to use anywhere on your body and on anyone in your family, so this multi-purpose product is a great choice for everyone!
Herb Essntls Perfume Oil $60: Perfume might not be the first thing you think of when you think of cannabis, but we love the way this oil smells and feels on our skin. Citrus and bergamot notes are the most dominating scents, and you’ll smell fresh and fruity with this perfume.
CBD for Life Pure CBD Foot Cream $20: This foot cream might be our new favorite product. The CBD feels perfect on our feet after long walks– especially when our feet are sore. The product smells wonderful and is a great moisturizer!

Insomnia: How I Beat It - Sigourney's Edit
I’ve always been a bad sleeper. And it seemed to get worse after I had babies and started a business. There’s always something to worry about in the wee hours of the morning and problems just seem so much larger at night. It’s been a goal of mine for the last few years to sort out my insomnia so I’ve been trying everything to get a better sleep and you know what? I think I’ve cracked it. Most nights I’m out like a light now. Here are the tricks that most definitely help.
MAKE YOUR BEDROOM A DREAMY HAVEN
This is the fun one. The key is to make your bedroom a true haven and to introduce a series of rituals that tell your brain it’s time to wind down for sleep. Start with a big cushy bed or if you don’t have one just add a mattress topper. I bought the Bambillo after seeing it on the home shopping network and I’m obsessed. It transformed my droopy ten-year-old mattress into a bona fide cloud. Then sheets: I alternate between Ettitude bamboo sheets (SO soft, you have to try them to believe them) and gorgeous white linen. I just got a new set from Bed Threads - an Aussie company that make 100% French Flax Linen at accessible prices. Keep the colour palette in your bedroom soft and muted – think grey, soft blue, dusky pink and the lighting low. Make sure you have a supportive pillow – I like a down and feather combo and I plump it daily to keep it in good shape.
START A BEDTIME ROUTINE
Switch your screens off an hour before bed. That includes TV, phones, iPads because the blue light messes with your circadian rhythms and keeps you awake. If you have time, have a bath with some Epsom salts and a few drops of lavender oil. Epsom salts contain magnesium sulfate which can calm your and there have been many studies that show lavender can reduce stress and calm the nervous system.  You can slather on a lavender scented body oil or lotion (I love Weleda Lavender Relaxing Oil and L’Occitane) and mist yourself and your linen (try Maison Saine Goodnight Gorgeous Calming Mist). I also have an atomizer going at bedtime that burns The Goodnight Co Goodnight Blend (anything containing lavender is good.) If you like to read digitally invest in a kindle and use it without the backlight in soft lighting to read. If you really want to prevent blue-light exposure you can buy a pair of Swannies glasses and read or watch TV with them.
GET PROFESSIONAL HELP
There’s nothing more relaxing than a massage or spa treatment to set your body up for sleep. I recently experienced the Subtle Energies Sleep Support Therapy Journey at the Crown Spa in Perth and it was game changing. It starts with a guided meditation, is followed by a Blissful Marma Massage and includes Ayurvedic techniques of Nasya (nasal oil application) and Shirodhara to help stimulate the natural production of melanin. I use the Subtle Energies Nasya Oil which comes in the Sleep Prescription Kit (available at the spa) now before bed. This ancient ayurvedic technique lubricates the nasal passage and sinuses and is believed to balance the body and mind. I also do a little nightly facial massage with Subtle Energies Facial Oil Blend – my favourite product in their range. Since I do this regularly before bed, the incredible mogra jasmine scent now signals to my brain that it’s time for sleep. It’s these little bedtime habits that can make a huge difference in drifting off to dreamland.

The Friday 5 [Safer Beauty Products]
New Post has been published on https://designweightloss.com/the-friday-5-safer-beauty-products/
The Friday 5 [Safer Beauty Products]
You may already know this, but it’s worth saying again: What you put ON YOUR body is just as important as what you put IN YOUR body. Every single day, we’re exposed to all sorts of toxins – from the foods we eat and the water we drink to the air we breathe and more – so it’s important to make changes that are within our control, like the beauty products we choose to apply to our bodies. There are so many things we can’t control on a daily basis, but using safer beauty products is one that we can.
Obviously, striving for a more natural and non-toxic way of life is a personal decision, but, for me, it’s a no brainer when it comes to my daily beauty products. Face wash, deodorant, night cream, body lotion… definitely safer choices! Gel manicures, covering my grays via hair dye, and my beloved “magic hairspray“… well, they’re not entirely “safe,” but, hey, I’m not exposed to them all that often. You gotta pick your battles – and, honestly, cleaning up your beauty products even a little is better than nothing! That said, here are my top 5 safer beauty products that I use everyday!
Primally Pure Charcoal Deodorant – I’ve tried a lot of hippy-dippy deodorants over the years, and I must say that the charcoal deodorant from Primally Pure is by far the best. First off, it really works. I don’t get sweaty or smelly when I wear it. It also doesn’t stain your clothes, which I experienced using some other deodorants in the past. (I’m still annoyed.) The charcoal deodorant is made from super concentrated and pure ingredients, so a little goes a long way for odor protection. This also means that a single stick will last for a couple of months! The scent is really subtle. It’s actually kind of minty, but definitely light and fresh. I swear by this deodorant and recommend it to everyone! FYI: You can save 10% off your Primally Pure order with code CARROTSNCAKE!
Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser – This cleanser is semi-new to me, but it’s become a top favorite for sure! It deep-cleans without drying or striping the skin of moisture, which is so important for achieving a healthy balance when you have oily or blemish-prone skin. I just love the daily exfoliation. Its tiny jojoba beads gently slough away dead skin cells without irritating your skin. I use this cleanser everyday in the shower on my face as well as my upper body (chest, back, upper arms) to prevent breakouts.
Latest Videos
Overnight Resurfacing Peel – I’ve professed my love for the Overnight Resurfacing Peel from Beautycounter at least a half dozen times now because it just so awesome. It’s truly made my skin glow and has helped big time with dullness, pigmentation, acne, pore size, and more. It’s definitely a product that I love and see myself using for a very long time. FYI: Beautycounter makes a travel-size Overnight Resurfacing Peel if you’re interested in giving it a try before committing to the full-size product.
Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream – I use this sleeping cream over the Overnight Resurfacing Peel every night before bed, and and I love how my skin looks in the morning! It really helps to replenish hydration and revitalize skin while you sleep. It’s made with Hyaluronic Acid, which is super effective for moisturizing without clogging pores.
Dew Skin – I’m not fancy when it comes to makeup, but I wear Dew Skin every single day of the year. I’m honestly obsessed with it. I love its light coverage and how moisturizing it is – most of the time, I don’t even wear a moisturizer with it. I just keep buying tubes of it, so I always have some on-hand. Thankfully, it’s 25% off as a consultant! 😉The Dew Skin also has SPF 20 in it, so it’s an awesome, all-in-one product! FYI: I wear shade No. 2.
Question of the Day
What are some of your favorite safer beauty products?
P.S. If you’re interested in Beautycounter, be sure to sign up for my Beautycounter newsletter to stay up-to-date about sales and promotions!
P.P.S. Totally unrelated, but I know some of you guys are fans of the protein muffins from Health Warrior, so just wanted to pass along this discount code. It’s good through Valentine’s Day – save 20% with code SUPERFOODLOVER20!

So you've found your way to another splurge versus save beauty roundup. Here we have the holy-grail makeup, skincare, hair care, and other miscellaneous items Hollywood's go-to fashion and beauty gurus shop at two wildly different retailers. Keep scrolling to see their beauty secret weapons, from $5 eyeliners to $88 facial peels, and everything in between. "This a product my entire family uses. An amazing detangler for myself and the kids. Smells like a tropical vacation." "It's two masks in one, so you can personalize to your own skin type or needs. It gives you actual results at an affordable price." "I live for bedtime baths, and these Epsom salts are so soothing and help me relax after a long day. Best to soak at least twice a week." "I wear this every day. It gives me an even skin tone and glow. Also, I love the SPF 30 protection." "This is my go-to lip stain. Perfect for those beach/poolside vacations. Plus, the SPF protection is a bonus." "I am obsessed with this company! Love their products and packaging. After a long day at work the body oil and lotion relax my muscles and I instantly feel better. Do not underestimate the benefits of CBD—life-changing!" "I’m a big fan of the Cetaphil facial wash. It’s great for all skin types, from sensitive to reactive to dry. I never break out from this."  "I have curly, unruly hair, and it’s the one brand I use that smooths my hair without breaking it." "For those tired nights when you want to wash your face but are too tired to do so. These cleanse thoroughly without drying, giving you the results that otherwise you wouldn't have." "A great quick fix for breakouts!" "Amazing for balancing skin after cleansing and before moisturizing, thus avoiding breakouts for reactive skin." "Perfect for spot coverage for men. Light and allows the skin to shine through." "I love the easy glide and staying power of these pencils. I use the nude pencil for brightening and canceling redness in the waterline!" "I use this mascara personally and regularly on my clients. I love the inky black color and the soft buildable formula that never clumps!" "These are just enough color without being too harsh and they aren’t drying like many matte formulas. I love giving these to clients for touchups on the carpet because they are an easy-to-apply crayon." "I use this concealer personally because it works wonders for my hereditary dark circles." "I am obsessed with these eyeliners and have almost every color in my work kit. They are a creamy and long-wearing dream that can also be blended out as a shadow on the lid before they set. I also love the fun color options they come in!" "Tata Harper is an amazing all-natural line that is also complete luxury. This oil adds and instant glow to the skin. A trick of mine is to put a couple of drops into foundation to sheer it out and add an extra-dewy finish." "These are my go-to concealers in my kit. They are creamy and lightweight with great light-reflecting and buildable coverage!" "The Holy Grail primer, anti-shine product, sunscreen, and anti-ager all in one." "Gives volume, length, and definition. Doesn’t crumble, stays put." "Effective, great scent, and leaves the body glowing but not sticky. " "Avoid powder buildup with these luxurious papers. Shine away, glow to stay." "A universal pink, this color looks amazing on pretty much any skin tone." "I have yet to jump on the spray tan bandwagon, but this lotion does the trick when my tan fades in the winter months. It's so subtle but really works if you use it consistently. And a little firming doesn't hurt!" "These eye shadows are incredibly pigmented and really hold. They are the epitome of bang for your buck, and they come in a full spectrum of colors." "This is my favorite foundation. My skin tends to get shiny, but this has a matte finish and buildable coverage. I use it on myself and all of my clients!" "These have changed my life, and I am not being dramatic. I struggle with hormonal acne and these pads have made the biggest difference.  They are very intense, so I always recommend to start with every couple of nights and work your way up to every night." "I use this serum every morning before sunscreen.  It helps to brighten, firm, and even skin tone, as well as protect from free radicals. It's amazing." "These look so natural and can be used for so many occasions: bridal, special event, and especially on camera." "A full coverage concealer that will cover anything and, if used right, will look natural and beautiful." "Such an intense glamour mascara that is bold but doesn't allow lazy clumps and squared edges. So fierce!" "Doesn't leave a white cast and never makes foundation crack or separate." "I constantly have a supply of these as they help relieve eye redness, and they act fast." "I love to have these in my kit. They come in handy not only for myself but the talent as well to keep their smile food particle–free." "This comes in handy when the client wants the body to have a bit more glow than a regular lotion will give. Be careful though—a little goes a long way." "This might be one of the most versatile products in my kit. It’s easy to build color or sheer out." "A dampened Beautyblender helps to blend foundation and concealer to look like skin. It will also help blend blush or bronzer to appear more skin-like." "I love the texture and colors." Next: These are the eight most overrated skincare products, according to a beauty editor.
