I read what you said about Cater, LET'S DO THAT! He is going to be Yuu-Mc's first opponent.

Deuce and Ace are new Shinigamis, they joined Riddle's squad the same day Yuu-Mc arrived at the Sereitei. They had no idea that Yuu was an invader and became friends. Eventually Cater comes to find (and fight, probably destroy) Yuu.

Deuce and Ace are going to distract Cater, and Mc escapes quite hurt because Cater is not measured with attacks.

"Cater literally stopped Ace's and Deuce's Theme".

Later, Ace and Deuce go to the hospital (Squad 4, Captain Vil) and meet Epel. Epel will heal Yuu later.

After that fight, it is known that there are 3 invaders in the Soul Society (a "Shinigami"/Yuu, an Arrancar/Grimm and a Quincy/Ortho) who are believed to be a group for unknown reasons.

About Sebek and Jack, it takes them a while longer to become friends. They know Yuu as an invader, and are also very loyal to his Squads. Over time they will notice that Yuu is not a threat to Soul Society nor is planning anything evil (partly, Deuce and Ace are going to convince them of that too).

Sebek and Jack will have to bear the weight of being called traitors by their own captains and confront them.

Sebek is doing Kabedon to Yuu??? It wasn't planned on purpose, really… BUT I left it like that on purpose.

Ortho is the best ally Yuu can have: they are friends in the human world and he entered Soul Society to help. But for being a Quincy, he will be considered highly dangerous by the Shinigamis. Ortho is going to fight Captain Azul directly and almost win, but other Captain (Kalim) will stop them.

Why Yuma Kokohead is my main whump candidate🌡️ An Analysis:

So, some of you people are probably asking yourself; Why do I keep making these sickly edits of Yuma?

Okay. Allow me to present my evidence and reasoning behind this weird little obsession of mine in 3 parts. (prepare for a small essay with some spoilers)

First off; I've noticed that Yuma always holds his head like this whenever he's distressed.

I know its probably just a nod to his memory loss, but he does it

Through the whole game.

Like his model is just programed to do it whenever he makes these two expressions in the sprite art.

He always looks so pale and tired... sick even.

In the JP dub, he speaks under somewhat heavy sounding breaths when he's going through this ordeal of trying to open the door to the Infirmary (as he should) It shows how exhausted he feels or how dizzy he is just wanting, BEGGING to lay down and make the world stop spinning.

This part of Chapter 0 was more than enough to convince me he had the potential.

SPOILER TERRITORY⚠️

Second: Yuma usually doesn't mind admitting when he is weak or vulnerable.

Such as when he tells Fubuki that he feels like he's in pain and going to pass out after Shinigami punched him in the Ch3 ML, or telling Vivia how scared he was when he was threatening to kill him during the Ch4 Investigation, or admitting his fear and hesitation to Shinigami in Chapter 5's deserted factory. Anytime that he admits his feelings if someone asks him rather than trying to act tough. Instead of playing dumb, he admits when he feels a negative way. He's completely honest about it.

THAT IS SOME GOOD SHIT 👀

This is really good fodder for a scenario where he just confesses that he's not feeling well. Or that he's about to be sick. Or if he's in pain or injured. Or if he's having a mental breakdown. He won't shy away from it. He'll say it.

(though I did kinda make him play dumb in my own fic lol I cannot deny that there are times he also wants to be strong and/or not be a burden to others)

Third: Yuma's size. HIS TINY SIZE??? COME ON?? He may as well be a CHILD.

I know vivia is a freaking giant but STILL LOOK HOW SMALL HE IS

He is so baby despite his age being completely unknown. He could be a teenager or he could be an adult over 20. Nobody knows.

Point is regardless of that, you can see him is any kind of vulnerable situation with no doubt or worry of it being OOC. You can see him crying if he's hurting. You can see him whining about making the pain go away. You can see him wanting comfort if he has a nightmare. You can see him having a panic attack reaching out to a caretaker for support.

He can be carried or lifted up by anyone taller than him and probably be light as a feather. Seeing him cling to them like a sick or hurt kid would.

He could sit or lay on their lap. He could lean on them as they help him walk if he's hurt, or as they help him eat or drink if he's too weak to do so himself.

And he probably couldn't stop someone from forcing him down to rest if he tried due to his physical stature being unfit for combat. (or anything)

Regardless, it would ALL FIT.

Like taking care of a child.

Now with those 3 points out of the way, I ask you all:

I'll mostly go with a high fever because they're my favorite thing in the sick whump category and easy to edit, but at the same time, he could be suffering with any sort of issue and it would seem accurate, likely or canon, so long as it involves his head.

Such as a splitting headache, immense dizziness, flash blurred vision, or even a nausea induced migraine. (heck, even all of the above, go crazy)

You may ask yourself, why?

Easy: For caretaking fluff purposes.

That's mostly why sickfics exist.

The potential fluff of him getting taken care of by the NDA (found family) Shinigami (chaotic mascot partner/sibling) Kurumi (platonic or romantic) or heck maybe even Makoto (sibling dynamic or possible ‘self-care’)

Just the thought and image of him getting taken care of in general puts a smile on my face. Its a HUGE comfort for me 💜

The potential for the found family, shipping, or sibling moments he can produce from being in this state is astronomical. And you don't see that in characters very often. He is a very rare specimen. He is Number 1 after all.

Checks literally all of my boxes on why I love illness whump and sickfics so much. He is perfect.

Sometimes sacrifices must be made to forge deeper connections. And these kinds of scenarios almost NEVER fail to be 1 of three things: tooth-rottingly wholesome, heartbreakingly angsty, or chaotically comedic. It depends on your preference. (They're mostly wholesome and sweet though.)

Hello, I was able to write down my ideas for this AU and finally got a good grasp as to what I want it to be So please enjoy hahaha

"Kanai Ward, the city of unending rain and unending stardom. Desuhiko is an ambitious musician wanting to be the city’s next big superstar, a dream he only realized during his time as the security guard of the popular Sun & Moon Hotel. After work hours is when he gets to actually feel the sense of being the musician he ought to be. With his trusty guitar on hand and charismatic aura, he sets his stage at Ginma District where plenty of aspiring artists perform.

Not only is Kanai Ward raining with stars, but it’s also drenched in criminal activity. Yuma Kokohead, a determined detective in training under Kanai Ward’s WDO division, strives to graduate from training to be an official WDO Detective. However, that dream is out of reach now after an incident with one of the cases he handled, caused him to get held back on his licensing. Now having to repeat his training process, Yuma works day and night to compensate the incident with the smaller-scale cases he’s been given. The only solace within his messy career life is writing and getting gigs at the Sun & Moon Hotel as a pianist.

Yuma and Desuhiko first crossed paths when Desuhiko was covering for his co-worker for the evening shift. Desuhiko sees an anxious Yuma and helped with overcome the nervousness of performing for that night. The two met again at a stakeout, where Yuma spotted Desuhiko singing near a bar, but never saw him again. Those chance encounters left both of them mesmerized with one another, but sadly never got the chance to connect.

When a suspected crime happened at the Sun & Moon Hotel, Yuma and Desuhiko saw each other again and became friends as the investigation goes on. After the investigation, Yuma invites Desuhiko to play alongside him during his gigs at the Hotel.

They both start to have feelings for each other but when a talent agent recruits Yuma to work for music sessions, their relationship starts to slip. Yuma quits his detective training to work as a pianist for different artists just so he can get connections for Desuhiko. Even when Desuhiko is getting more gigs at performance houses, he struggles with insecurities about being compared to Yuma."

Commentary: I really wanted to stick with the plotline of La La Land, I even had to watch the movie again. And man I just fell in love all over again and made screencap fanart out of watching it. But to not spoil too much. The story is about Mia and Sebastian, two people with big dreams who fell in love with each other. During their relationship they both struggling to achieve those dreams. That's what clicked for me to make this AU and how the songs mostly fits with Desuhiko's character or my interpretation of his character. In my head, Desuhiko is taking after Mia's character from the movie and Yuma as Sebastian. Though, I stick by them as being detectives, mostly for Yuma since being a detective is part of his character as a whole. Like I see how passionate he is to be a Detetctive even when it's a hard job. As much as I want Desuhiko to be a detective too, I thought he can be a security guard instead since he mentioned something similar to his Gumshoe Gab. And on the side, he go busking (I'm really making him be that aspiring artist trope thing). So it felt right I mostly focused on YumaHiko, so the other characters (as much as I love them) will be incorporate to the AU another time, I already have a role for Shinigami as Yuma's big sister that he calls since he's living on his own in Kanai Ward (which i find really really cute for their dynamic). I have a role for Halara and Fubuki too but it's not as established yet. But yeah, this AU is just for shipping purposes and my own indulgence hahah

Ofc, like the other people that like Desuhiko, I wanna add in his underlying insecurities here HAHAH. That's the Cherry on top for me of this AU, I just want them to have that angst. I feel Desuhiko is pretty out of character here, cuz he's mostly know as the perverted character but like, this is my AU, I'm gonna pretend that he doesn't have that lol. Yuma on the other hand is pretty much the same, but I made him have the talent of playing the piano and writing poetry. I didn't elaborate it as much yet but I have this picture of them. Desuhiko plays the tune of "City of Stars" and Yuma is the one who wrote the lyrics of that tune for Desuhiko as a means to sing that song someday. AAAAAAA I CANTTTTT So anyways, I followed the storyline of La La Land but added in some stuff from Raincode, like how it always rains, there's still mysterious crimes, the Aetheria Academy and its theatre, the Ametarasu corp and etc. I'm also refraining on revealing all I did for their story in this AU cuz I do plan on making this as a written work someday. So for now, I'm sharing the ideas I had about it That's all for now. Expect more cuz I'm making this my own project for this year heheh. I hope I get this finished because It's really driving my brain to do more and all I wanna do is make this a reality for myself. What's up I'm still doing bad and feel my last year's mystery stress sickness is coming back and none of my drafts are anywhere remotely close to getting finished anytime soon because of that how are you are you interested in cat

(picked the TPB timeline because it makes the most sense and has the most fitting characters, but I might cheat or bend it a little, we'll see)

Yuma Kokohead -> Rusty/Firestar

Main boy :) because of course he is. Yuma's now an orange cat. Firestar was the name of Number One, and Rusty (canonically Fire's old house cat name, I'm not calling them kittypets I'm sorry) was the name of the trainee he very politely borrowed his identity for.

Makoto Kagutsuchi -> Scourge

In wc canon, Scourge is also Firestar's half-brother (but they don't ever knooow) and they both kill each other + he's canonically stated to be VERY short like one of the smallest cats in the series. After the cloning, Makoscourge painted his fur completely black except for a one white paw (for the aesthetics. or maybe I'll just give Fire a white paw as well, kinda like Yuma's and Makoto's lil ahoges), started wearing the "OwO" mask, the dog tooth studded shrimp color collar, the fucking blood dyed amv bangs, the dog tooth reinforced claws........ The former CEO took him to hot topic for the first time in his life and he was fucking MESMERIZED none of them knew what they have brought upon themselves by this single act. He is a very silly man, lost in the whimsy. When his mask gets pulled off in the Mystery Labirynth, his face is just not dyed at all and it's just ginger with green eyes just like Rusty's/Firestar's/Yuma's/whatever.

Shinigami -> Spottedleaf

In canon, Spottedleaf does infamously end up haunting Firestar's dreams as a ghost to send him cryptic visions and furiously make out with him in front of his pregnant wife, he did have a crush on her before she died and I'm pretty sure she was retconned into reciprocating it was real bad and then they double killed her so Fire won't have to choose between her and his wife in heaven it was REAL bad uhh. I still like her though. I can get you out of the narrative girl just take my hand.... She can be the weirdgirl incarnate she was always meant to be. I wanted to say something else but then I realized holy shit I'm just tweaking her into Bonefall rewrite Spottedleaf am I... What can I say it IS peak Spottedleaf.

Yomi Hellsmile -> Tigerstar

Also extremely obvious. He is evil and has immaculate sexual tension between the protag whoops sorry I forgot literally only me and like 2 other people here ship Yuma and Yomi uhh anyway. While it does fit I'm a little dissapointed that Yomi/Tigerstar is gonna be losing so much of his cringe charm..... Like, say goodbye to deeply unserious insecure prettyboy toothpick Yaoi with silly little insults such as "umbrella sewing machine man operating hand hook car table" and how do I even describe all of this in less than 3 paragraphs. Say hello to broad-shouldered muscular extremely intimidating 100% serious and competent fascist built like a fucking brick shithouse with very broad-shoulders that doesn't need a henchman boytoy to handle all his numerous murders, have I mentioned his massive fucking broad shoulders, Firestar sure did do that a lot. It's like, where's the fun..... Whatever.... I guess...........😔😔😔

Martina Electro -> Leopardstar

Now for an assigned role I'm way more cool with >:)))) for an outrageously long while I had trouble with whether Martina should be Sasha or Goldenflower, fool I was, until I remembered Leopardstar fucking exists. She is literally perfect like I cannot state this enough. AND canonically she was later retconned to have feelings for Tigerstar but I hate to acknowledge it how dare you massacre Lep like that. She can still be his gf alongside vice director though, she's just engaging in acts of deceit whilst putting opioids in his food and trying her darndest to convince herself she's actually 100% in control of the situation before she's dragged to the cube dimension and has a brief "are we the baddies" moment. I don't think she still resigns from being a peacekeeper though Leopardstar 100% would take that fucking promotion the moment she's offered it and a year later when she' done feeling guilty regresses back into being a violent asshole she has learned NOTHING❤️

Fake/Hitman Zilch -> Darkstripe

So many dissapointments happening here sigh..... This one was obvious and honestly the only valid option for FZilch aside from maybe Nightwhisper or Blackfoot? Anyway, the downsides: one, Darkstripe will never be as cool as fake Zilch he thrives on being a cringe mistreated lickspittle. Two, he's definitely not one of Tigerstar's "closest advisors (🏳️‍🌈)" whilst Dark is pretty obsessed Tiger does not give a shit and considers him a looooooser boooo lameee fuck you *canonically swats him away with his tail that one scene*. But, I mean, at least the toxic yaoi became an entire new category of toxic.

Swank Catsonell -> Brokenstar

Pure vibes. It just fits. He employs small children and makes them fight to the death in his office for glory

Seth Burroughs -> Longtail

In canon, another one of Tigerstar's lackeys that didn't know about his crimes and when he found out he immediately left. I thought he was not evil enough to be Seth at first, but it kinda fits and he does make up for it in his cringe value and being noted to be a coward, though that may have been just Fire's opinion. Also, with all the bunny Seth Burrows jokes, I'd like to mention Longtail got his eyes clawed by a rabbit so hard he went blind so do with that what you will

Guillaume Hall -> Russetfur

Aaaand this is where I started having trouble with the remaining peacekeepers. Eventually I settled on Russetfur & Blackfoot/Blackstar for Guillaume and Dominic, because I like this danger duo I and some of the fandom completely made up about them. It's okay, the authors don't know you like we do...... While Blackstar did have a higher rank and Russet was his deputy, I do think she still had at least an equal amount of power as him, they're buddies pair bonded for life Blackstar is nodding respectfully to whatever incomprehensible wisdom she's sharing

Dominic Fulltank -> Blackfoot/star

In canon, started out as a murderous henchman of two major equally murderous evil dictators, before they both died and he finally got that boss promotion he always wanted, then he got ruined by the, you guessed it, retcons, but I don't like to be reminded of his atrocity of a novella. I always imagined Blackstar as like, unbelievably jacked holy shit the muscles on that cat, (and honestly most of the fandom does too so. lmao) and he does indeed canonically unflinchingly do the dirty work of all his bosses such as killing and maiming and destroying an

The looks definitely fit, Dr. Huesca indeed bears striking resemblance to that tortured feline. However, while sometimes an asshole, Goose is definitely not evil... But he could be. He deserves to be. As a treat. Also: old man pride

Kurumi Wendy -> Cinderpaw/pelt

Easy, get Cinder'd idiot. They even have a pretty similiar energy too, I feel. This is where I got a bit tired, uhh...It's 11pm. Anyway I love Cinder and I love Kurumi say anything bad about them and I'll start scream crying on the floor

Halara Nightmare -> Yellowfang

Halara gets the old beam. They're now in their fucking 60s or something perhaps 70s. Yellowfang, on the other hand, gets the non-binary spec beam. She already gave off massive butch vibes in canon already, whatever. I don't think I can uhh in short terms explain Yellowfang's whole deal rn but the gist of it she's a very snarky grandma figure to Fire that gradually warmed up to him while she was- my cat vomited. While he was assigned to take care of her while she was taken prisoner into ThunderClan camp. Her personality's pretty funky. And she does seem cool enough in order to deserve to be Halara Nightmare.

Desuhiko Thunderbolt -> Graystripe

I think I'm taking a break and coming back to this tomorrow actually after all. Hello this is tomorrow Jasper. In canon, Graystripe is Fire's silly goofy boybestie when they're young, then he starts secretly dating Silverstream - hold on i can't fuvking take tjis im making myself hot cocoa again bye. Ok it's done let's see if that makes me feel something. As I was saying he's dating this cat and she's from a rival Clan so that's illegal forbidden love and then she dies during childbirth and he leaves his own Clan for a while to raise their babies there but then he gets exiled and goes back to his own and then his kids almost get publically executed for being half-clan so he and his buddies rescue them. And then he gets abducted by humans and meets this new gal called Millie and they start dating and then she gives birth to his new babies and then a tree falls on one of them. I'm pretty sure Fire was also pretty gay for that guy. Uh, anyway. I think he fits the bill because of his goofy charm but also it's pretty disturbing to imagine any iteration of Desuhiko actually getting bitches

Fubuki Clockford -> um. uh. Silverstream?

Silverstream, in canon, is the only daughter of Crookedstar, the leader of RiverClan, and is (implied to not having a problem with) getting various privileges because of this. Fits with Fubuki's rich timelord parents, plus light blue aesthetic, and a few other things which are hard to articulate. Only thing is that she's generally way more headstrong and impulsive than Fubuki showed to be, could "bend her father to her will with little effort", and disrespects the law if it's stupid to her which, queen shit. I think she'll play a lot of little pranks with her time powers, and devote her free time/time with YumaRusty when he's accused of terrorism crimes (but that's just unrestrained summer fun anyway) to absolutely decimate any peacekeepers they come across with some looney tunes shit

Vivia Twilight -> I'll be honest I have no fucking idea

Zero fucking idea. Literally NOBODY in this arc fits for the 5D chess of a character Vivia is. I'm not even sure if in any of the books. Help me. But also I don't really care because I don't even like Vivia at all anyway he freaks me out get him away from me.

Yakou Furio -> Bluestar?

Protag mentor figure except Bluestar is actually doing a good job at that until she loses her marbles after her mid-arc torment gauntlet and has a corruption arc until she drowns and gets healed of all her issues momentarily before fucking dying. She has a dead husband, dead mom, dead sister, dead baby, dead deputy, dead deputy #2, dead bestie, holy shit that's a lot of motives for suicidemurdering Huesgoose. Btw Goose was her weird voice of god hearing uncle in canon (and he was also dead) but I'm probably taking it out unless. Anyway she's kinda too good for Yakou but. They're also both blue like that is a blue cat

Originally was supposed to have Aiko's place before I remembered Little exists. In canon his most notable moment was dying brutally, which I mean also fits the Karen quota. Plus, while not an asshole per se he does have a more fiery/overall angry personality and he did try to impulsively take on a pack of dogs to prove himself and fucking died, if under enough pressure I'm pretty sure he could smash Aiko's/Littlepaw's head in with a brick too👍👍

Yoshiko, Waruna, Kurane -> Brackenpaw/fur, Thornpaw/claw, Brightpaw/heart?

Siblings in canon and two of them are guys so no murderous yuri I guess :(( But I mean I don't have to follow canon to a T anyway lmao so we'll see. In canon, basically the other three remaining apprentices along with Swiftpaw and the ashfern siblings, plus they do function as a trio via just being sibs. Plus some notes from the books: Cinder is the fourth sibling. Brightpaw follows Swiftpaw in his quest to slay the doggy and while he dies she survives but gets her eyeball and half of her entire face's fur torn off.

Real Zilch -> Redtail

He's very dead. Very, very dead. His most iconic moment was dying abruptly and tragically via murder rip in rest

Hello. It’s been a while since I dropped in, but one of the recent asks I saw intrigued me. I hope you don’t mind.

Concerning @sagaduwyrm’s ask on shinigami reiatsu signatures…

I find this take on it very interesting. In my canon, reiatsu felt more like a person’s… baseline feeling, or core emotion, so to speak. For instance, Zaraki’s signature felt like very focused bloodlust, as befitting one who was always searching for a challenging opponent. Kyouraku felt like laughter and blink-and-you-miss-it apprehension, if that makes sense. I always believed that was all the proof needed to see just how worried Kyouraku was all the time when it came to Ukitake. Who felt like endless patience and also endless exhaustion; whether due to his illness or Kyouraku’s antics remains unclear.

I could waffle on about each of the Captains and Lieutenants’ reiatsu signatures, but the ones I mainly wanted to extrapolate on are Kurosaki Ichigo’s, Aizen Sousuke’s, Urahara Kisuke’s and, well, my own.

Kurosaki Ichigo felt like loyalty. In every interaction I had with him, for every moment that I tracked his reiatsu signature in battle, what put him apart was the fierce, overwhelming loyalty present in his soul. It was awe-inspiring. And quite fitting for him, I believe.

Urahara felt like deep remorse, for lack of a better term. I’m given to understand that he made a great many mistakes and had a great many regrets. It shows in his soul. He’s quite skilled at hiding his signature, tamping it down and muddling it so you don’t recognize it at all, but I was a Captain, and you can’t become a Captain without a good sense for reiatsu. I felt his remorse. It was quite prominent.

Aizen was a bit of a contradiction. The way that I pinpointed him was by how un-person-like his signature was. All souls have a unique signature; Aizen’s was smudged so badly (or so well, if you see it like he did) that it was easier to look for reiatsu that didn’t really feel like anything. Didn’t have the classic hallmarks of being someone’s reiatsu. Didn’t really feel like the base emotion of a person so much as “oh yeah, I guess there’s some kind of reiatsu generator over here”.

Mine was a little similar, to my own chagrin. I used to tightly hold back my reiatsu and smudge its presence for all it was worth, because I know what I felt like (bitternesshatredtrappedtrappedtrapped) and I didn’t want anyone to sense that. I’m pretty sure that the Commander knew, but. At least he didn’t point it out. And it rankles a little that a Captain I once felt a sort of kinship with, for hiding our deepest, truest feelings in a similar way, ended up nearly killing my surrogate sister. He secured my eternal hatred after that.

I like the idea of souls’ reiatsu signatures feeling like death experiences, but I’m also glad that that wasn’t the case in my canon. That would have been unpleasant to sense day in and day out. I suppose I would have made people sense drowning in a half-frozen river, if such were the case. Eugh. Truly not ideal.

Be that as it may - what an interesting idea.

hello! i was just rereading your bleach/KHR fics, and had a thought to try my hand at one. my only problem is deciding on flame types for bleach characters.

i think it'll make it easier if i just let all Shinigami be dual-types (the thought process being that not everyone on the afterlife becomes a Shinigami, and stronger flames would mean a stronger flame) but I'm still unsure of which types to give everyone 🤔

do you have any insights on a similar au, or a list of what flames you've used for bleach characters previously?

Well, I have a few of them and I'll reblog this post later with a few recommendations once I've had the time to go through my own bookmarks. But mostly, what I do is I go to the wiki and remind myself of the poems associated with each flame.

For example, my first instinct was to connect Kisuke with Lightning, given the mad scientist thing. But if you look at the poem, it doesn't fit at all.

To draw damage to himself and away from the rest of the Famiglia, serving as a lightning rod.

I think that fits Ichigo more than it fits anybody else but if we're assuming Ichigo is a Sky and has a Lightning of his own, I might consider Renji or maybe Rukia. Though I'm shaky on this flame, honestly. It's complex. Renji I'm not sure, I think of him because he keeps trying to keep up and one of his motivations is to not be left behind but he also seems determined to fight beside and not behind. If that makes sense. And he seems to have no problem sacrificing himself if that's what it takes to feel like he's not dragging anybody down. But Renji is a long shot.

My justification for Rukia is that she knew full well that giving Ichigo her powers was an execution worthy offense but knowing that and understanding that without doing it, Ichigo and his sisters would have died, she gave him her powers anyway. And when time came to face the consequences, she didn't even try to have Ichigo return the favor and protect her in turn. She went out of her way to avoid his involvement because she knew Ichigo, for all his conviction, wouldn't stand a chance as he was at the time.

Now, Storm:

Continuously at the heart of the attack, the furious Storm that never rests.

Renji or Grimmjow, for example. Neither of them are the kind to sit back. But if we're going for duh, that one: Kenpachi. That one lives for the fight. It's his main characteristic.

For Rain:

To square away conflict and wash away the blood spilled. The Requiem of Rain.

If we're going by my head cannon, I think Mizuiro would do nicely here. But if we're stepping back and going through personalities: Yoruichi (I'm not sure if I wrote her name right.) Or Shinji.

She's pretty good at mediating between Ichigo's friends and her whole job description is to take care of problems that need to be done away with, quietly and bloody if need be.

Shinji's approach is more mental manipulation than assassination, I think. But he was captain of a the militaristic afterlife for centuries, I doubt he's squeamish. Either way, both of them are good at keeping peace inside of a group of loud personalities and both of them feel to me like the kind that would deal with a threat with weapons in hand.

Honestly, the rains are the ones I'd be personally more wary of, they seem to be the kind that could genially talk to you, smile and all, while fully knowing you're ending up dead by the end of the night.

The Sun:

Destroying the misfortune that attacks the Famiglia with their own body, they become the Sun that brightly shines upon an area.

If we go by "activation", Kisuke. Come on, that guy has spent the entire manga just pushing and prodding and provoking Ichigo into becoming a powerhouse. It's why I made him a Sun in Mizuiro, the information Broker and I find Reborn fits into this category as well.

But if we're going only by the poem: Chad. Come on, his physical ability, protectiveness and willingness to physically defend the rest of the group is practically his entire point.

For Cloud:

A drifting Cloud, whom cannot be bound. Protecting the famiglia from an independent standpoint.

I briefly considered Shinji but then I remembered he all but poached Ichigo from the Shinigami and fully declared him one of theirs from the get go. There was no independent standpoint, that was point blank: "I have adopted you and your silly denials matter nothing to me."

So Yoruichi. She mostly does what she wants and thinks needs doing, though she does coordinate quite a bit with Kisuke. Which might be just common sense, no point disturbing Kisuke's carefully crafted plots. But consider: Byakuya. He's supportive and has Ichigo's back but they don't really coordinate in any way, they just know soul deep that the other has their back. It's even outright stated in the full bring arc.

Well yikes, this is an enormous post. I tried to be quick but alas. I hope this helped.

i like in fanfic when ryuk is nonbinary/agender/genderless/whatever, but i don't like when he's... condescending about it??? I think ryuk would have no idea what light is talking about and why this is such a big deal.

i see the shinigami as not "complete" creatures, more like parasites to humans, since they don't eat, sleep, and have pretty much nothing that distinguishes them as seperate.

also, i like the comedic idea of ryuk having no idea what random stuff is like

hello and sorry for the late response!! i agree 100000% — i love when supernatural beings in general have a gender system (or lack thereof) which differs in some way from human gender.

canonically shinigami do seem to have some sort of gender system but i like to imagine that it’s not the same as the human one, so when ryuk refers to himself as male he’s doing some sort of rough translation. like in his head he’s categorized light as an alternate gender which has no relation to human cultural norms and would be as incomprehensible and ill-fitting to light as ‘male’ is to ryuk. idk!! i think gender is arbitrary and culturally encoded and i think it’s fun to explore that concept via adding fictional genders. especially if said fictional genders come with their own arbitrary & inaccurate rules for how members of xyz gender should behave. like light’s telling ryuk it’s strange for men to sew and & ryuk’s telling light it’s strange for xyz gender to worry so much about productivity and they’re both confused. (also adherence to canon isn’t important so i’m all for ignoring it as one wishes.) ANYWAY sorry that’s a bit rambling but basically i agree with you. i like seeing them as dependent on humans, too — i think that makes them feel less like just another species and more like creatures from myth/folklore/shinto, which imo is much more fun.

ohh ☕️ Coffee Shop Au for Madara/Hashriama

ooooh! Okay this is a fun one!

I think Hashirama would be the most silly, but also unintentionally flirty barista ever. His coffee would taste like heaven, but he's forever sticking his foot in his mouth - yet it's done in such a genuinely nice way that people don't get mad at him about it.

Tobirama is endlessly baffled by this - he insists it's magic.

And he's right.

It is.

Because every cup that Hashirama makes lifts people up and brings a little bit of good into their lives - he lives to help people. In turn, when he touches them, he gets a little bit of information about them. It's often garbled and hard to interpret, but he gets them in a way most people don't.

It also makes him a fantastic matchmaker - if he touches two people that he knows will fit, he'll try and bring them together.

But Hashirama has one customer who always comes to the shop, but never drinks the coffee.

Madara is a tea person, and he always asks for just the tea leaves and a pot of hot water. He steeps it himself, everything.

Now how is Hashirama supposed to work magic with that?

He's a coffee guy! All of his teas are store bought! What! Madara wants to drink that stuff when Hashirama is right here offering the best coffee ever????

He doesn't get it.

Until the day when Madara orders the tiniest cup of espresso, touches his hand for the first time, and says...

"I've been looking for you."

And Hashirama knows that he's found the man of his dreams.

The majority people I saw in Role Reversal trope of Death Note community often prefers Light as Misa, L as Light and Misa as L. I, on the other hand, prefers Light as L, L as Misa and Misa as Light. I need your opinions on this, and maybe some headcanons, too?? Thanks :D

hi, again, ace! honestly, i haven't read that much role reversal au, but one i like (called "A model, a mass murderer, and a detective walk into a bar") had L & Misa reversed while Light was still Kira. i also like L as Misa, Misa as Light, & Light as L.

tbh, i don't think Light would make a good Misa. his only style is preppy homosexual & it'd be way to ooc for him to wear pretty much anything else. he clearly cares about his image & how he looks to other people, usually wearing stuff like khakis or button up shirts with sweaters, so he would refuse to wear anything racy or more suggestive than a shirtless photo.

L as Misa, on the other hand 👀👀. we've long since established that L will wear anything comfortable & their pale slender frame would fit perfectly in most fashion magazines. i was looking at clothing references the other day & immediately thought L would look wonderful in this skirt.

ofc i wrote L wearing it in my current w.i.p, but we're getting off track.

Misa would make an excellent Kira, especially with her shinigami girlfriend, Rem, on her side. Misa would start with killing the man who murdered her parents (if they're dead in this au), then kill rapists & creeps, then murders, etc.

Misa & L would become friends after Misa kills a creepy director L works with. The creep had quite a few accusations against him, but none of those models were as popular as L, so it was their words against the directors'.

The creepy director was about to try something with L when he just dropped dead. Extremely painfully.

Misa knew of L before she became Kira & even had a crush on them before Misa realized she's a lesbian. They're now a chaotic friendship duo & Light orginally suspects L is the first Kira while Misa is the second, although it's the other way around.

The rest of the task force don't see anything suspicious about L & Misa's friendship, since Misa loves fashion & L is a model. The task force thinks Light just wants L in HQ because

1) L is cute

2) He's smart & is actually useful to the case

3) Sometimes L wears his modeling outfits or pretty dresses & Light stares at him while showering him with compliments everytime

Watari is L's manager & half of his job is apologizing to directors, models, or other managers his little spitfire pissed off.

Misa does not give up her notebook, or suggest L give up his. They both agree that losing their memories is a pretty stupid thing to do, since they could accidentally reveal themselves & there's no logical reason for them to suddenly get amnesia.

L's shinigami is Ryuk, who gave him the eyes. L's shinigami eyes are navy instead of red. L convinced Ryuk that blue eyes would be less conspicuous, while really L just doesn't like the color red.

Misa's color scheme is still red, as is Light's.

Their personalities are still all the same, but they're all out. Light as gay, Misa as lesbian, and L as nonbinary & queer. Instead of chaining himself to Misa, because there's only so much he can take, Light has Misa move into his apartment.

Light does consider Misa a friend, but she's so energetic & upbeat, Light can't be around her 24/7 without feeling drained.

Since L & Misa became roommates shortly after L discovered Misa was Kira, she insists L lives with them, too. L & Misa both do puppy dog eyes at Light until he agrees.

Light tries very hard to hide his massive crush on L, but everyone (except L) knows.

Light is also very outspoken about the fact he only took this case on because it was interesting, but he personally agrees with Kira. He's a potential ally in their eyes.

Mikami & Takada also switch places with Abider & Wedy, respectively.

that's all the headcannons i have for this, but i hoped you liked it & see you again soon! :)

I feel like the relationship between Claudia and Undertaker has released a curse over the entire family, maybe the love between a human and death god is utterly prohibited in (1/?)

As it happens, I’ve discussed most of this before, so I’ll eventually redirect you towards some links. :))

Haha, indeed, it obviously doesn’t seem random! What’s even funnier is that when you check out precisely Claudia’s death day and Vincent’s birth day...

...it turns out they both were a Friday the 13th, a day notoriously associated with bad luck nowadays. 

And yep, as such, it’s been imagined by the fandom before that maybe Frances’ birth day too was a Friday the 13th (and since we know Frances is younger than Vincent, I think @abybweisse researched which dates could possibly fit). If not her birth date, maybe her death day will be one. Would be morbidly funny.

Oh that’s for sure! In fact, it’s been said before that shinigamis are forbidden to play around with life and death, so it is definitely certain that romance between a human and a shinigami would indeed be prohibited. 

At the same time... it’s not like the Undertaker cares anymore about the rules ever since he deserted, especially if the reason he deserted is related to finding out some grim truth about the Organization. 

We already know he’s been cheating death by working on his bizarre doll project, so indeed it wouldn’t be surprising to me that he also went against the rules even earlier by possibly making a family with Claudia.

As for whether or not it cursed the Phantomhive family, be it directly or indirectly, it is possible! 

I know some fans vouch that Queen Victoria found out about the Undertaker being a Shinigami and that it is why she ended up getting rid of both Claudia and then Vincent, but I disagree. If the love between UT and Claudia cursed the family, it’s definitely by UT’s own design. 

“Maybe Vincent’s words in that Akuma 6 chapter (”love is a wonderful thing... but it can also give birth to horrific disasters) not only were referring to the twins (*cough* RCMT theory) but also how the love between UT and Claudia might be one of the reasons why”

I definitely agree! In fact, Vincent’s words in this chapter...

...actually sum up all arcs of Kuro so far when you think about it. So in my opinion, it’s definitely not a stretch to imagine that he might be referring to his sons, as well as, possibly, to his very own parents. 

Again, I don’t think Victoria found out about UT being supernatural and killed Claudia as a result. In fact, I’m more on the side of the opposite, as in, it’s the love between Albert and Victoria that eventually killed Claudia and possibly Vincent [short version][long version]. 

However, as we’ve seen in the story so far, UT’s been pretty hell bent on bringing as many Phantomhives back as he can (real!Ciel and I’m sure Claudia is next on his list since Vincent can’t be brought back), most likely because they’re the family he made with Claudia and he can’t give up on the souvenir of that love. 

At the same time, it’s also very tragic because the Phantomhives are a very loving family [x][x], so it cannot even be said that they’re entirely responsible for their recurring terrible circumstances (in other words, there is indeed a big bad that is external to the family). 

TL;DR yep, this family is cursed. We been knew. xDDD 

What’s funny is that I think Sensei just loves showing us just how many curses one can sprinkle over the same family, possibly starting from their lineage to the youngest son selling his soul in order to get revenge. 

I’m a fan of revenge stories though, so that’s why I’m still in it after all this time, to figure out what exactly killed the last two generations. :))) So yes, VERY interesting!

hmmm i think the way they just know they fit together, ya know? and their minds worked together, how similar they are, how they complimented each other. knowing that there wouldn't be another one like the other. No one to satisfy the itch in their head they didn't know needed scratching until it happened. i think they realized just because the feeling they got around each other.

10. what are their love languages?

OO! I think L's love language would be quality time. Like just being around Light and they're both working on something together or separately. also probably just a sprinkle of gift giving. 1. because autism. self explanatory. 2. he's rich and thinks Light both deserves and doesn't deserve to be spoiled, but he does it anyway.

For Light's love language, I think it would also be quality time, and also a little physical touch. Like i imagine he has an elbow or a knee touching L's side at all times. Or even a leg resting on L. Idk. i get the vibe from him that he'd always want to be touching L once he knows he can.

19. talk about a headcanon you've never talked about before

ah i see. you want inclusive dominic content LMAO. but hmm this is hard because i literally say every lawlight thought that comes to mind. uhhh, i've talked a lot about lawlight au's with cryptids and everything, but i dont think i mentioned that I headcanon Light as being interested in cryptids in canon. I just think he'd be knowledgeable on the subject, yk since he knows about shinigami's (not saying they're cryptids) and their lore, even if they were not true. I think of his many many many books, books about cryptids and folklore around the world would be amongst them.

Backing up slightly from that point, the first time Ichigo took a nap with Grimmjow in the room, Grimmjow thought he was sick. Ichigo fell asleep on the dirty floor of Urahara’s underground bunker, and Grimmjow, after noticing he wasn’t responding to his half-hearted jabs and threats, started to worry.

At first he poked him in the shoulder lightly. Nothing. A little harder shove. Still nothing. Obvisouly he could see Ichigo’s chest rising and falling, so he knew he wasn’t dead. Yet. Then it dawned on him. Kurosaki, his once enemy and now favorite sparring partner, was napping. When he was still in the room.

Ichigo wakes up to a very wide-eyed Grimmjow, who would absolutely deny he was staring at his sleeping form with a kind of wonder and bewilderment in his eyes. No one, not even his late fraccions, would ever fall asleep in his presence. Grimmjow isn’t used to feeling trusted.

After that, they get even more comfortable with eachother. The first time Grimmjow naps while Ichigo is still in the room, is the day Ichigo moved into his first apartment. He’d helped him move furniture and all that good shit, (in his fake human body, because Kurosaki said it would scare the neighbors if they saw half the sofa levitating) and he got tired. Becasue of said fake human body.

Ichigo walks into his little living room and finds the arrancar curled up on the couch, one arm thrown across is face, legs tucked up a little, kind of like a cat. It made his neck hurt, honestly. So he nudged him a little, softly.

All it took was a gentle nudge. Grimmjow shot up like a rocket, eyes large, teeth bared, his hair smushed down on one side. Ichigo fell back in a fit of laughter.

Once they calmed down, Ichigo offered the bed to him, since he seemed tired. Grimmjow realizing that the dumb shinigami/human/hollow/hybrid/friendly bastard was serious, he took him up on it.

Except, Ichigo realized, as he looked down on Grimmjow’s sleeping form, a week later, the arrancar now sleeping only at his place, instead of the room he had at the shoten, he thinks Grimmjow maybe misunderstood what he meant.

Grimmjow wakes up to Ichigo staring at him, and frowns, a sleeply little frown that melts the edges of Ichigo’s vision and his heart into a little puddle of goo. Looks like he’d be sleeping on his couch always, then. It was comfortable enought, he reasoned, as he turned around, telling Grimmjow to just go back to sleep.

Grimmjow says there’s a lot more room in this bed than his other one. They can both fit, idiot, he tries to hiss out, but it doesn’t sound threatening. Instead it sounds like he was pouting of all things.

So Ichigo gets into the bed with Grimmjow, and finds out the guy is basically a thermal detector--he searches out heat like catnip and gets as close as he can, unconsciously wrapping the covers tightly around them both.

They wake up the next day, cocooned in the covers, blankets even over their heads, bodies so close they were almost a single skin. Grimmjow’s hair is all kinds of messy, sleeping face soft, mouth slightly parted. Teal markings look almost brighter.

Ichigo thinks he could wake up like this every morning.

hello kat!

i'm bit of a music junky and i'm just curious to know what do you think dazai would listen to, like what genres or artists you think he would like! i love hearing your opinion on stuff and i'm very curious to hear your point of view on that :)

Hi Livi! It's always lovely too see you in my ask box <3 and I had so much fun with this hehe, so thank you for the ask!

Personally, I think Dazai generally listens to pop music that is either really catchy or has a softer undertone to them (maybe that is a personal bias), but I also think he definitely is the kind that listens to the lyrics. But I kinda got this conclusion from the songs he is kind of associated with within the BSD series, his suicide song (which is both catchy and requires one to listen to the lyrics) and his character song (with is actually quite soft especially in the beginning, though I would still consider pop music, and I would say requires one to listen to the lyrics as well).

And to illustrate this, I made a 10 song playlist with some songs that I enjoy and feel would fit. Do forgive me though, most of them are in Japanese since I’ve been enjoying a bit of J-pop lately. I don’t know how well others would receive it haha but I hope you like it <3

So here let me explain a bit why I chose each song here along with linking the English lyrics of the songs! And this whole playlist is kinda based on how I feel like (ADA) Dazai’s would think and how his thoughts would flow, I think he would like to feel relatability to the lyrics :”)

1.  Décolleté - Kenshi Yonzeu

English lyrics: x

To begin, I don’t know why I feel like the vibe of the song fits Dazai (well the mask he wears outside really well), it has a carefree feel to it, which I think fits really well. And the lyrics well... it fits his womanizer reputation he has as well :”). But personally I think Dazai would vibe with it haha.

2.  Shinigami - Kenshi Yonzeu

I think the name of the song is a bit self-explanatory already haha, but Shinigami is kind of what the Japanese call the grim reaper. The first verse also makes me think of Dazai... Plus the song slaps.

3.  ヘビリンゴ  -  すりぃ

English Lyrics: x

The song is talks about living a rotten life in Tokyo it seems. And the English lyrics isn’t translated that well it seems unfortunately :”), I read it in Chinese and there was one part which I felt fit Dazai. It talked about: “in a rotten life, I understand that we did not solve our problems, maybe if I escape my feelings, and changed anew, my frustration and loneliness will disappear”... Also the music video (x) reminds me a bit of Dead Apple haha.

4. People Watching - Conan Gray

I just feel like the lyrics fit Dazai quite well honestly... A longing to feel close to other people and trust them, but also wanting to keep a distant from them.

5. The Mind is a Prison - Alec Benjamin

I think it is quite self-explanatory this song, this is also supposed to be the “saddest” song of the playlist haha, in which Dazai’s thoughts is at its darkest.

6. Demons - Alec Benjamin

“You are the only one that gave me hope. You're the only one who really knows” this screams Oda to me :”) I like to imagine him thinking about Oda at his lowest point and his thoughts turn slightly more hopeful.

7.  Kiito - Yoh Kamiyama

The reason I put this song here is because it talks about sadness, in the end it talks about the approaching morning, which is actually quite similar to his character song. And it feels more hopeful to me as well <3

8.  祈り花 -  平井大

Once again something that would remind him of Oda, honestly all the songs following “The Mind is a Prison” are haha, but I know Oda means a lot to Dazai so I feel like even in music Dazai would try to find something that reminds him of his dear friend.

9.  アンコール - YOASOBI

English Lyrics: x

Yeah, this song is talking about the end of the world, but the bittersweet element of the lyrics and the melody is something he would enjoy. Plus this part : “The memories that I have put a lid on and shut in without noticing, The memories that the sounds we play have brought out, The piano that stopped by the time I noticed, The tears that flowed before I knew it, Let's continue playing.” reminds me of how Dazai is trying to put his past as a part of the mafia behind him and continue to live on.

10.  Machigai Sagashi - Kenshi Yonzeu

English Lyrics: x 

This is actually one of my favourite songs at this moment. It’s a bittersweet song that talks about (the artist’s words) ‘I might have been born into the wrong picture, one where I’m searching for mistakes. But it’s precisely because of that that I have met the people I have.’ and I really like that. And I feel like it is a nice song to end off on :)

Teruma is very funny and I’ve come to appreciate him a lot.

2010 - MBD Nagaoka

At the beginning of my Kuromyu fever (2010) I warmed up to Nagaoka’s portrayal of William. Though his singing was not great, I thought he portrayed a pretty accurate William otherwise. He was serious and very stoic, I liked that.

2013 - MBD Teruma

Then the rerun of 2013 happened, and suddenly Teruma replaced him. It’s not that I can’t deal with change, trust me. But going from an acceptable William to a ball of anger was a bit hard. At the beginning I really disliked Terulliam. He was just so angry and shouty, not just stiff or stoic.

The overall tone of the musical was also quite wacky while it also tried to deal with really serious problems... I.... it had tone problems, okay? (But I guess by now everyone knows I hate that musical.) So between all the melodrama and the (failed) comical aspects, one shouty William just didn’t do it for me. Teruma seemed too negative to be the stoic and soulless William. Plus, his singing might have damaged a few of my windows.

2014-15 - Lycoris that Blazes the Earth

His second appearance was in the Lycoris that Blazes the Earth. He did not improve much between the two runs, so here I refer to both performances. In this musical run he was still very much the angry William, but because the tone of the musical is very different, the anger of Terulliam seemed fitting. The score they chose for William clearly capitalised on the anger and wrath of this Fury!William, which is not really canonnnnnn, but it did mean that Terulliam fitted in the production better.

NOT CANON here however, is no criticism (see Furukawa going just that extra mile and ended up influencing Yana). Though Terulliam in Lycoris was quite different than the canon version, it did add a nice little zest to the musical which benefited the production in my opinion. It was just a bit of a shame that Terulliam in Lycoris was given such a BANG of an introduction, but disappeared after literally one song. (But that is obviously no fault of Teruma himself.)

It felt like there was a lot of business that was left unresolved...even though in canon William also didn’t have more business. William’s function at that point was basically just the mom who only came to pick her child up who had messed up big time. Such a ‘spectacular’ introduction of a character who would literally only have one thing to do AFTER the climax of the final act was just poor directing man... At that point I wondered why they bothered hiring Teruma in the first place. I even suspected they made him Sebastian’s body double for the prologue just to give him ANYTHING to do at all to fill the 1.5 hours of waiting.

2016 - Noah’s Ark Circus

In the manga I liked William FINE, but he was only memorable because he is the greatest parody of the Japanese Salaryman... UNTIL THE GLORIOUS CIRCUS ARC. In the Circus Arc Yana worked her magic, and used exactly this soulless Salaryman stereotype to create what is arguably the most hilarious moments in the entire series.

And boy did Teruma turn golden comedy into platinum!

His singing still leaves quite some space to be desired, but his acting and dancing skills sure did improve very much. And never have I ever witnessed such glorious display of toddlerism (toddlerhood? Toddlerarity?) on stage in my entire life.

His chemistry with the main character also happened to be gold; not once did any of their comic moments feel forced. Together, Teruma and Furukawa brought the amazing shinigami-demon antagonist comedy to life. His growly voice matched well with Furukawa’s very smooth voice he had chosen for Sebastian, and the actually very mediocre composition of the song “no. no. NO!!!” became 👌 👌 👌 all thanks to these to geniuses.
