Sonic X Silver Unleashed would be really cool

especially for 2026, which seems like it might be year of Silver, as Sonic 4 has rumored to have Silver in it, sega would probably want to do the Sonic X Shadow generations success again, as well as finally establishing Silvers origin and finally Sonic Unleashed for modern consoles, and a pc port that people have been BEGGING for

Giving silver the chance to fix his origin would be a great chance to take if they decide that his Rivals story isn't canon (because of the way it breaks Eggman Nega), or just isn't well known enough by fans, finally setting why everyone knows him would be cool

although, he wouldnt actually meet sonic in this game, but maybe he could interact with characters that aren't in the original story, adding more to it, and maybe could have sonic and silver meet in an epilogue short like Dark beginnings

it would also probably just fit really well, with silver coming back in time to fix the ruined planet, not that I want another "silver comes back to the past to fix the future" plot, but it could work, especially if they decide to rewrite him, and because it would take place during unleashed, it could definitely work as a good introduction for his character to the world, as it's the next main game after 06 (besides secret rings) so it could probably be much more of a "this is what happened instead of 06 because the timeline reset", if they decide to lean into that (it would live up to the stuff 06 was claiming to be, a cool new direction/reboot to the Sonic world, setting Unleashed as what happened instead of 06 would not only make that statement correct, but also reintroduce silver around that time period in the series)

they could also put shadow in it, because all the fans new and old would want more of him in games, especially in "the best game in the franchise", also seeing shadow post shadow 05 would be cool, Ian Flynn could work in the Super Hard Mode being canon, where he joins GUN at the end, bringing "Shadow's best characterisation" not only into main canon finally, but also into the best game in the franchise

it would print millions for sega

and Silver's powers could get reworked for the boost engine, which would be interesting, and his powers could react with the dark Gaia energy somehow, changing the playstyle to match up with base unleashed

and I somehow didn't mention that I DESPERATELY want more of that peak unleashed world building, with the distinct cultures in the world, it would blend into silvers story really well, as he's not used to all the people and life, finally capturing that "woah, this time period is beautiful" element that wasn't there very much in 06, despite it helping his motivation to save his world so much

and because unleashed is already one of everyone's favorites, bringing it to the forefront of the Sonic franchise for new players to enjoy would probably put sonic back on top as a gaming icon

also a mixing up more of the anthros from Forces into the humans of unleashed, would not only be cohesive, but add to sonics world, Sonic, Tails, and Amy wouldn't be the only animal characters seen in the game where you see the entire planet, making sonic seem special among them and explaining why nobody really questions sonic's existence

unleashed is one of the only games that really builds up a full world for sonic, and all the other games subsequently forgot about it all instantly, I desperately want to know where Station square is on the map, or White Acropolis, or Westopolis, or Seaside Hill, or Sunset Heights, I want all the stages from the games on one big map.

Frontiers also confirms that unleashed is part of the canon, so it would set standards for the next games to add on to it, because the stages in unleashed are considered the best In the whole franchise, in music, stage design AND worldbuilding. we need it to be a base for the rest of the franchise to follow at least a little bit when making new stages, a remake would not only fix that, but also give the silver game that people have been begging for for 18 years, and finally give him a base intro to the story for the wide audience to fall in love with, because silver is rad as hell

also a game that takes place before whatever forces does would be cool, because after unleashed, the games barely even touch on the world of Sonic anymore, Colors? in space, Generations? timeless void, Lost World? Lost Hex, only really touching on it in Forces, where Eggman completely shapes the globe in his image, but they don't even really show what he changed besides "sand hill", and then Frontiers is on a separated island that we don't know where it is on the planet, if unleashed was remade, it would bring back the worldbuiilfing it had, and open up the doors to have games that add on to the main timeline come out while sticking to that worldbuilding without it seeming off because unleashed is a recent and well talked about game by this point

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes: Mae Thoughts

(Spoiler Warning)

So I just got home from watching Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and while I can't articulate it very well right now, I will say that I do not like Mae very much... perhaps in the future, when I rewatch the film, I will make a deeper and more detailed post on this, or even change my thoughts entirely, but here's my initial thoughts.

I want to start this off by admitting my obvious bias, I have never been a huge fan of the human characters in the pota reboot franchise, I understand their necessity and there's a few I enjoy (loved Nova in War) but overall they have consistently been the least interesting characters in each movie. This isn't really a pota problem, this is just a problem with xenofiction in general; that is to say, in a world of sentient apes with heightened intelligence as well as their own foreign cultures and lifestyles, the recognizable humans who are alike to the audience in behavior, culture and general lifestyle are going to be the least interesting. Even my favorite franchise Avatar struggles from this, with Spider being not that interesting by virtue of him being surrounded by far more fascinating na'vi characters. Therefore, I admit I'm partially biased because Mae is human, and a lot of humans in this franchise are mind-numbingly boring.

Before I get negative, I will say that I adore how they handled Noa and Mae's conflict – I remember thinking halfway through the film, "aren't they supposed to be bonding by now? Why is there no chemistry?" only for the film to end with them having ended up even more apart than they were when they first met. Fundamentally, Noa and Mae cannot get along because they both represent very different mindsets on the current state of the world. Mae bringing the gun to confrontation only proved that she never gained a respect or new outlook on the apes, and Noa could not pretend to like someone who sees him as an animal undeserving of the life they now have with their newfound intelligence. So yeah, good job Kingdom!

With that being said, I feel Mae as a character wasn't as effective as she could have been because of the fact that she triggers a specific sort of annoyance in the audience, which has everything to do with the fact that (pretty much) everyone who went to see this film had seen the last three films. The victim act is understandable from a personal standpoint – it's been 300 years since War, most humans are feral and only those living in hiding are still in any way like regular humans, so of course Mae sees the apes as her oppressors – but after watching three films that are set over the span of decades following humans absolutely terrorizing the apes and nearly killing them off, despite said apes begging them to just leave them alone, it's hard for you to feel all that bad for the humans in this situation.

It's difficult to be accepting of the narrative that it is now the humans that are the victims in this story, when it was the humans that experimented and abused the original apes, it was the humans that created the simian flu, it was the humans that instigated the original ape human war and it was humans that killed Caesar. The humans started the war, and they also happened to lose it. So, while I can understand Mae and her motivations, it's very hard to see her in a sympathetic light with the knowledge of all of the atrocities humanity has inflicted upon the apes.

It also doesn't help that Mae just didn't get as much development and time to be eased into the audience as she could have, especially since the movie is over 2 hours long (which I find hilarious, considering the pacing issues it has). Whenever she was on screen, she was either nasty to one of the apes or being typically defiant and rude, and if she wasn't doing that, she was having incredibly awkward moments of conversation with them. She barely had a character aside from the human girl that's tagging along, and her motivations ultimately don't do enough to justify most of the decisions she made.

The fact that I cannot tell you anything about her aside from she's a human and wants to make humans smart again, despite spending 2 hours with her, is a sign that she was not a very well thought out character. I respect the nods to the original Nova, but I feel they really dropped the ball with Mae.

Then again, we probably have another 2 or 3 movies to go, so maybe they'll rectify this in coming films lol.

The thing is even if the original wasn't consistent,at least they would have an excuse due to it being old, but the reboot?? They constantly switch it at random like sometimes the top would be gold, sometimes it would be cloth, one of my favorite times they changed it was when they changed it from gold armor to cloth so we could see Adora's scars when Catra scratched her...how fun. I love seeing someone gets scars from their abusive sister who is also obesesed with them don't you?

Miscellaneous Thoughts on the new Reboot Trailer

The animation looks great! Not perfect and 2D is still better but there are some really nice shots.

They removed the nipple piercing from the hunting troll, the cowards! Just kidding, I assume this is supposed to be Knut? Not entirely sure. He looks a lot more intimidating than his original counterpart but also more like a generic ogre and less unique. I'm fine with it, I just hope they keep his personality (and him needing glasses with this look would be even funnier.)

I love the way Bloom's flames look around her body! The fire in her eyes is a great touch as well. If all of their powers look as amazing as this, there's definitely something to look forward to! (Please fix her "scream" in this scene though, it sounds pathetic.)

What is Flora doing here? Judging from what the trailer shows they seem to follow the original plot so far but Flora is there with Stella when taking Bloom to Alfea? Why? And why do they make it sound as if they were looking for Bloom specifically? I really like the chance-encounter-turning-into-a-lifetime-friendship aspect of Bloom meeting Stella for the first time so definitely sad that seems to be changed. On the other hand, being optimistic, it could point to a general change to include the other Winx in more scenes in general which would definitely be nice. We'll have to see. (Stella's face looks so weird in this shot.)

And I'm sorry but Stella's voice is awful. Way too squeaky and high! Icy's is also eh and too high again. The rest are okay at least, I guess? Maybe they'll sound better in the actual series. Hopefully the German voices are better like the originals were.

Alfea looks gorgeous!

There seem to be some characters who look more like witches walking around at Alfea? I heard some theories about witches being taught there as well. Really not a fan of that. It doesn't fit at all and they'd have to change the lore significantly to have that make sense.

Still not a fan of the overall colour choices for the outfits, especially Stella's (way too yellow with her everything)... None of the colours really stand out, they're too muted and pastel. I like the design on Bloom's jeans though!

I wonder what's up with the portals that show up several times in the trailer. Who creates them? The room Bloom lands in here looks just like any generic gym, there's even some basketballs in the background. Let's hope this is not Alfea... I'd hate that.

The outdoor/jungle wear is back to being sensible and still stylish and unique for everyone again, love it! They even have backpacks now, that's neat. And I like the idea of the girls with longer hair tying it up so it doesn't get in the way, that's even more practical and looks good as well. (Wtf is wrong with Stella's hair though. And give her more colours than just yellow everything for god's sake. I like that Bloom is back to having a lot of blue in her outfits, that's great to see. But give Musa a strong red and stronger colours in general, I beg you!)

The first thing the Trix do on screen is laugh, 10/10 best reboot.

They're also very similar to their original design, awesome! And Icy's attack looks great, just like Bloom's flames.

I sincerely hope that this is not the final form of Stella's sceptre because... yikes, that looks like a children's toy. But maybe it grows? Maybe she can't use it properly yet and it's only full-size and as badass as her original sceptre when she can? That'd be a cool arc for her!

Faragonda looks good as well.

The Specialists are back, yay! And they look like proper men again, yay! (It is utterly impossible to get a shot of them that isn't blurred, I tried.) I don't care about Sky but from those we see they all seem to have their original hair styles. Brandon has his original side bangs and Riven seems to have his iconic pointy hair. I'm gonna riot if he doesn't!

They have hoverboards now instead of bikes? Okay. The bikes were cooler honestly but maybe they have those as well. And wtf kinda stunt was Brandon doing there? Isn't that something Riven would rather do? But he's just flying in a "boring" straight line. Huh...

Their uniforms look... okay? I love the original fantasy knight-like design they had with the cape and everything while still looking somewhat futuristic so I'm not the biggest fan of them looking more like generic futuristic sci-fi armour here. They're also colour-coded in their original colours but not to the point that their entire armour is that colour, I like that. I wonder what their weapons are gonna be...

You know, on the risk that I incur everyone's wrath for this, I wouldn't be mad at all if Kiko really is just a book and doesn't otherwise appear. He never added anything to the plot and was just there to be cute but even as a child I just found him annoying. We don't need to waste any screentime on him or any of the other random cutesy critters that appear in later seasons.

I think it's clear that it's very very unlikely that the reboot is ever gonna top the original, it's just too iconic in so many ways. Some stuff is obviously worse already but there's a lot to like regardless so I'm optimistic that it's gonna be enjoyable and worth watching! (After which I'll probably immediately rewatch the original because duh and that's just how I am.)

Here are some more things that I've created in my head that happened in it.

•Meta knight is a wanted criminal.

•Kirby was raised by sir Arthur before he was send to popstar.

•Kirby is also fullent in Spanish but doesn't have an accent.

•Kirby can talk but still says poyo as a tick.

•Adeline is Ado's younger sister.

•Adeline and Ado live in the castle because Dedede declared both of them royal painters because he doesn't wanna admit he adopted two children.

•Giving children a job in the castle is Dedede's way of adoption.

•That one "how can I help you king Dedede" part from the intro would be change every episode to fit what is going to happen in the episode.

•A scene where king Dedede has a mental breakdown because he can't understand why Kirby is so kind to him and doesn't hate his guts like everyone else in the kingdom because he should hate him the most and even begs Kirby to just hate him. Kirby refuses and gives him a hug.

•Meta knight, after trying to take king dedede's throne, goes to king dedede's castle (dedede doesn't know yet) the only people who know what meta tried to do is his crew, Kirby, knuckle Joe (he was helping Kirby) and that girl with a gun that I can't remember the name of.

•Meta and Dedede were friends before dedede became king and he didn't know he was dethrone an old friend.

•The kids were going to tell dedede but when Kirby realized how happy he was to found an old friend. That leaved Kirby in a deilema state where he could tell dedede the truth and ruin his happiness and confirm his belief that everyone hates him in kings eyes or let them play pretend until somebody losses their head.

•When dedede founds out about what meta tried to did he takes him to the forest and fights him. They still hang out after it but they are pretty cold to eachother.

•Susie sounds like a vocaloid.

•Susie talks in a different language but has an auto translator that most of the time doesn't work probably

•A detective arc about what happened to the former ruler of dreamland and if dedede killed them or not.

•Don't worry everyone gets along in the end.

Rhett's favorite movie growing up was Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, and he made sure everyone knew it.

Movie night? He's begging to watch it for the umpteenth time; he was the first to get a TV in his bedroom, purely because Cecelia couldn't take another rewatch.

He had an entire shelf dedicated to it for years, complete with the DVD case, the Spirit Breyer horses, and anything that reminded him of his favorite horses. It was ultimately taken down as his interests changed, but they still reside safely tucked in a box.

He doesn't realize it, but he unintentionally quotes things from the movie. Perry pitches a fit one afternoon because Rhett's horse let herself out of her stall and raided the feed bin, and Rhett quietly, "Sometimes a horse has gotta do what a horse has gotta do."

And maybe that's why he wound up picking the wildest horse in the sale barn; an ornery mare who wanted nothing to do with anyone. Cecelia was more than convinced the horse was a liability that they'd have to pay to get rid of, but would you know it, Rhett's befriended the damn horse.

Did it take several years? Yes.

Would he go back and do it all over again? Also yes.

Though he's not the best at the guitar, Rhett knows most of the soundtrack by heart, but when you first hear him playing Here I Am by Bryan Adams and ask about it, he plays it off as some song he heard on the radio. Because how does he explain that, no, this is a song from an animated horse movie?

Pretends that it's not on his list of favorites, until you suggest watching it. The facade instantly drops, and he'll physically haul your ass to the couch.

Tears up every time you get to the scene of Spirit being dragged away from Rain after the waterfall.

The moment Amy was old enough to start developing favorite characters, Perry was on Rhett about keeping his mouth shut about that damn horse movie because he can't take another rewatch in this lifetime. But then Rhett's put on impromptu babysitting duty one day, and that night, five-year-old Amy is at the dinner table, asking Uncle Rhett if he'll watch that horse movie with her again tomorrow...

Perry has not known peace since.

Not a fan of the Spirit reboot in the slightest, and he can go on about it for hours, but he keeps his mouth shut around Amy because she absolutely adores that reboot. Buys her the merch for her birthday and Christmas, regardless.

"They completely missed the point of the original," he mutters to you as he places several stuffed horses into the shopping cart.
