the movie did such a good job at putting me in isabel/owens shoes honestly because i was looking at tara/maddys monologue scene through a lens of just not letting go of nostalgia so i was like 'oh my god do not get in that hole in the ground. this is crazy' but then two minutes later with hindsight i Understood and was like 'NO YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN THE HOLE IN THE GROUND GO BACK'

i was watching a music video for a japanese song and it had built in youtube english captions so i went to turn those on but then i saw that there was like an option for "English" and then a second option for "English (Canada)" and i realized in a few seconds it was just a workaround to having two sets of english captions, one with colour changes in the lettering and one without for accessibility (the canada one was the non-fancy lettering) but for a moment i was living in a world where they were making dedicated canadian english translations for things..... measuring temperature in celsius and height in feet...... paying with loonies and toonies... going to the WASHROOM

streamed the manaphy movie and the hoenn ranger anime specials and god. i miss when team rocket was funny. i miss battle frontier

#tbh. sorta wanna go back and just rewatch battle frontier bc i loved that season a lot #its got a ton of nostalgia picks for me and its just a super charming era of the show and the writings really good bc of the tight pacing #its got some of my favorite episodes of the show tbh #the deoxys ranger special is one of my favorite specials. it probably made me love deoxys more than the deoxys movie did #i love how its close in canon to the movie and that the conflict is largely because deoxys didnt have a companion #when in the movie the conflict was the deoxys trying to reunite with its other deoxys friend after the crash #i love the stuff about its trauma from space and i love its shitty male living space pocket dimension and how childlike it is #despite being a really intimidating pokemon #going back its hard not to see the ranger specials in hoenn as one giant commerical but theyre still utterly charming #also this episode is prime bait for my ''max is an unawakened psychic'' headcanon COME ON does anyone else hear me on that #thats three psychic pokemon hes become mentally bonded to now!!!#omg and the coordinator stuff in this season is so good and the pokemon centric episodes are good and the frontier brain battles are neat #its like they knew they didnt have time for annoying obligatory filler so they made what they had count #... i do understand why sinnoh didnt do this bc they wanted to end the series on ash vs paul. which makes sense #i would too #but tbh......... they reallyyyyy could have put in a battle frontier arc there between volkner (have him appear earlier) and the league #they didnt have to put it in johto like ag did with kanto if they were worried about breaking up the pacing #i mean they didnt do fuck else with that batch of episodes #echoed voice #anyways jessie tells james to get meowth out of deoxy's shitty male living space and hes like ''WITH A SPOON???''#and that actually made me laugh out loud on call. wtf. what do you mean these characters are funny and engaging.

trying to start S2 Ep 6 of IWTV and I've already paused it like 10x in the first 10 minutes because it's just kinda getting hard to care what they're going on about and I keep getting distracted tbh

#idk if i will end up finishing it #it's kinda losing me #idk it's frustrating that this show def cares about the characters & the source material but there's just a few too many things bugging me #like i havent watched any other VC adaptation before that actually felt to me like the actors and writers had read the books #and cared about the deeper parts of the characters other than this one (and MAYBE tom cruise as lestat in the 90s movie actually lol)#so thats a nice win for it #but also its just not doing it for me aesthetically and some of the show writing choices and changes ruined certain big things for me #like ruined me sympathizing with lestat and/or caring about his relationship with louis at all. and some of the stuff about claudia too #and now im just getting confused by the plot and i dont know if it's because im zoning out or mixing up the show timeline w the books #maybe ill just take a break from it and finish rereading the third book instead #this is kinda why i dont watch shows or ever finish them either usually too like #they so rarely stay good all the way through and its just hard for me to stay interested past a season or two regardless #i feel like i can only maintain interest in short form videos (like movies) and long form writing (like novels/book series) sometimes #not a big fan of short stories and not a big fan of long tv series #i have no idea why #other than i find tv series often overstay their welcome and short stories often leave me unsatisfied in the opposite way #p #vmpcs

im so sad didn't get the experience of being a xmen fan in the 70 up to the 2000's, it was the golden era, the moment to be a fan

the latest xmen movies are just not good ... ( days of future past is okay but dark phoenix is a huge no ) and there is no very active fandom like for others marvel superheroes

#vox saying stuff #the worst is I can see why its not popular as of right now but still !!#also I'm praying that in the next few years a new x-men movie come out and thats its good #because I cant keep watching the same 3 - 4 films forever #I started watching the cartoon ( xmen 97 the reboot as well as xmen evolution ) + the anime bjt I need more #live action wise #also I know i should read the comics and i will ! one day #xmen #x men
