Unpopular opinion, but I’m still withholding pity for the Collector until episode 3 of season 3. I don’t trust him.

Not because I think he’s really evil and hiding some evil scheme, but because he’s a godchild with the immense power to change reality and he hasn’t show the capacity to become more grounded yet. Being lonely and locked up doesn’t excuse his extreme apathy for the people he uses like toys. That was clearly going on far before he was locked up, because as he said himself, King’s father locked him away because he wanted to play with egg/baby King. Then, when he was helping Belos, he knew what the Draining Spell would do and was more than okay with it! He thought it was funny that thousands of people were going to die! He sang that little rhyme about it in Hollow Mind, if I remember correctly, while miming it in shadows over the portal door.

He may be different from the other Collectors (as shown in the murals from FTF), but he still has the same problem that they do! Which is a completely alien mindset from the species they’re “collecting”. They may be unfeeling and ruthless when it comes to any sign of rebellion, but so is the Collector, just in a different fashion! Where the more mature Collectors commit genocide (as it was implied), the Collector chooses to enslave. He thinks it’s fine that his toys don’t have free will anymore; more than that, he thinks he’s worthy of being the one to decide who gets free will and who doesn’t.

He reminds me a LOT of that kid from that one Twilight Zone episode, “It’s a Good Life”. He’s less angry and purposely sadistic than the kid in that show, but still just as temperamental and powerful, willing to bend the people around him if they don’t comply because he sees himself as More than them.

The only one the Collector showed even a shred of empathy and respect for was King (he specifically singled King out to be his best friend and talk to him one on one, he actually took the time to listen to King when he didn’t want the Collector to have Francois, let King visit Eda, etc), because he considers Titans to be more equal to himself than the people of the Boiling Isles.

So yeah, to me, the whole “poor thing was lonely” doesn’t really cut it. Sure, I’m sympathetic, but I’m not going to be happy if his behavior is just waved away with “oh he’s a lonely kid, poor thing is taken advantage of by Belos” excuse. I want to see him realize the weight of his actions. I want him to MATURE. Give me character growth, not the blanket excuse that just because he has a kid’s mentality his actions are excusable.

But if you think the whole this is disrepecting or mocking a race , im really sorry but you are on the wrong page"Henry Lau: His fellow SuJu member, Yesung, not too long ago, posted an old video on IG, of himself as Nick Fury, and it involved a wig and of course, blackface. The video soon got around, sparking controversy, and Henry took into action. Not only did he told netizens to delete it, but posted in the post's comments:"If this is racist, then Thor wearing the blonde wig is also racist. c o s p l a y"I believe the video was later taken down by Yesung, but cant forget the Indian man accent. During a VLive broadcast, which featured her, Dani Kim, and an underground rapper named Jay, she was seen and heard singing "negro" during Beyonce's "Formation", (Dani and Jay knew not to say the word and paused before the word was even heard.), during a game of Heads Up, she referred to Dani's "sheep" as "special needs", when Jay was asked to make a heart by a fan, in return he did, she replies "thats so gay", and when asked about her relationships with SVT, she spoke of DK and Vernon with "ew" and "he's not normal". She later responded the same night, again, through IG, with:"Hey guys woke up to a storm today and wanted to clear things up. I have only found out by reading your comments from you guys other than reading articles because i wanted to know how you guys felt which is very important to me. I didn't intend to seem homophobic and racist which i am NOT. I think the thing with the N word is a misunderstanding i was singing along to Beyonce's Formation and there is a Lyric that did include "Negro" and i did sing along to it. I sincerely apologise to the people who got offended. I am not homophobic i was joking around like i usually do but i guess as a "public figure" i would need to think and speak more carefully. To just clear things with Dani and J and Dk And Vernon we are all good friends there was no hate thrown at another at all just sarcasm so no ones feelings were hurt. My Simblr reading preferences

This is my personal response to nifty survey results compiled by @something-wicked-sims​ (Thank you so much for putting this together, it really is amazing!!!)

I didn’t participate in this survey, but I too have thoughts!

I personally like reading stories from all of the sims games, sims 2-4.  I have a love/hate thing with reading them on simblr, because of formatting and if you’re not up to date, you end up reading posts backwards.  Table of Content links do not work on the tumblr app, so I would visit them in a mobile browser if I’m that interested.  

So first note: If the ToC link isn’t easy to find on your website, I’m already moving on to something else.   Also, if your tumblr theme is NOT mobile-friendly, or better yet, responsive, chances are, I’m not bothering either.  (you’d think most tumblr themes are, but you’d be surprised)  43% of simmers primarily use mobile to browse/read simblr stories.

2nd: I use tags to find simblrs. I save certain tags, so posts come across my dash.  Tags work, at least on me. 

3rd: I like pretty pictures. It draws me in first.  I will always go by “A picture tells a thousand words” when it comes to sims stories.  As an artist, I like visuals! (Don’t think it was lost on me that this survey was put out as an infographic! So much <3 for that!) 

My ideal aesthetic is maxis-match content, not overly edited, not overly posed, with a diverse range of characters that don’t try too hard to be ‘edgy’. If there is custom posing, I prefer it to look natural with the game.  How many times do I see a story with predominantly gameplay screens and then bam, over-posed sex scene. It’s jarring. :p   

4th: I don’t care if your writing is bad. I will raise a judgy eyebrow if you do things constantly like use “should of” instead of “should’ve or should have”, but I get it, this is just a sims story, you probably don’t have an editor, I make mistakes too.  I DO care that your story is coherent and interesting to me though. But overall, writing catches less of my attention as pictures. 

5th: Least popular is sci-fi/action-adventure/crime/horror???? Those are my favourites. PLEASE point me out to some good ones.   I promise you, there is an audience out there! 

6th: I am in the lowest age demographic. D:  That sounds weird, but really doesn’t feel that weird. In any case, it’s kind of hard for me to relate to a lot of stories written by young simmers.  I honestly try to see past it, but then I think of myself when I was a teenager, and I start projecting.  This may be a personal failing, I cannot help this. This brings me to my last point...

7th: Communication on tumblr is shit.  I have an easier time following a thread on twitter.  There is no easy way, out of the box, to reply to people or start a thread without having to create a pointless reblog thread that frankly a lot of people on your dash may be out of the loop with.  I’ve been doing the social media thing before it was even called social media, and Tumblr is honestly the WORST. I use it because for some reason, there’s an extensive sims community on here, and frankly I like you people, so I deal. But I hate it so much. So very much. 

Ahem. In saying that, I don’t comment a lot on sim stories I like. I “like” posts a lot, and just so you know, if you see me “liking” it, it’s a genuine like, as in, I’ve read your post and I like it. I like engaging with simmers, but just the cumbersome way that happens, makes me not bother.   Obviously reblogs have more weight, and I do have an simspiration blog over at @lululounge.  I don’t do this as much as I like.  I wish it was easier to have a comment thread, but because tumblr is shit, we don’t get that, and no, third party extensions aren’t the solution. A platform that needs third party extensions to be usable is garbage.

My Danny is trans - If you, personally, don’t headcanon him like this, that’s okay. However I, personally, write him like this so there will be mentions of him being trans on this blog

Child threads - I headcanon that he came out as trans to his family at a young age. This age is 5. This means that, if threads take place before he’s 5/comes out, there might be mentions of his dead name and old pronouns

My Danny is Autistic and has ADHD - Thanks to a friend of mine, I headcanon Danny to be Autistic along with having ADHD. Danny is half dead - The portal accident half killed him which resulted in him basically being an anomaly thanks to neither being dead or alive yet also both. I know; it’s shocking

Mental health and trauma - Though I have things like depression and anxiety, I don’t have everything Danny has nor have I gone through everything he has. This means I may get bits wrong. If this happens, please feel free to correct me

Mun information:

I’m Otus! I’m an 18 year old British Trans Man (he/him; okay with they/them) who still lives in the UK. I’m currently in college and come from a family who have health conditions which means I may not be active 24/7.

Due to things such as my past and what I got from my family, I have both mental and physical health issues. These are:

Depression - Diagnosed by professionals. I don’t take medication for this because the UK is awful with this sort of stuff.

General anxiety - Diagnosed by professionals. Like with depression, I don’t take anything for this because the UK is awful.

Social anxiety - Diagnosed by professionals. Same as the other two.

Raynaud’s - Not diagnosed. Parents say I have it since I’ve shown the signs of it.

Fibromyalgia - Not diagnosed. Like with Raynaud’s. Both this and Raynaud’s get worse in the winter and make it where I can’t do much due to fatigue. After a bad cold I got, coughing badly in the winter makes this a lot worse for me because it makes my chest muscles act up (which isn’t fun when you have a binder on)
