Word for writing game: storm
Ooooo Good word! There's really only one thing that comes to mind...
Shallow, rapid breathing accompanied by an ever tightening grip on the thin, wool blanket the Veteran had wrapped around himself. He glanced up just as the room filled with light from the raging storm outside.
He flinched and buried his face back into the sheets. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... Thunder boomed, forcing Legend to bite his tongue in order to keep himself from making any sort of noise.
Violet eyes hesitantly scan the inn room, noting how the others were somehow still fast asleep. How that was even possible was beyond him but now wasn't the time to question any of that.
Another grumble of thunder and that was all he could take. Legend was going to push past his pride (whatever was left of it that is) and decide to seek comfort from the only other person who knows about his fears.
he got up from the inn bed, creeping over to one of his sleeping companions. For a moment, he just hovered by his side, unsure if he should wake him or not. But it seems that decision was made for him.
"Legend?" The tired yet higher tone of voice called out his name with concern. Wind must have sensed his presence, or however that all worked. "Legend, are you ok? Ya need something?" The boy rolled onto his back and sat up.
The Veteran wasn't sure what to say but the only explanation needed was the way he gasped as a particularly loud burst of thunder nearly shook the building.
Wind immediately understood, scooting over with a sympathetic smile. "It's alright, Vet, you can stay with me."
Legend doesn't hesitate to crawl into bed next to the younger hero. "Sorry for waking you... I just... I tried but-"
"It's alright, I understand. Like I've said before, my sister gets scared of storms too." Wind quickly reassures while getting comfortable. He yawns and plops his head back down.
Legend wasn't sure how he felt being compared to a nine year old girl but he can't deny the comfort he feels just by being next to one of his friends
