I’m convinced 90% of the people who say they like Feyre don’t actually like her.
Today I was told that Nesta had it better than Feyre because having an abusive mother is better than not having one at all.
They said Nesta got to dance (spoiler: she was being abused when dancing) but Feyre was being ignored, and that Nesta was her mother’s favorite and even Nesta would visit her grave.
Would you have wanted Feyre to go through that? To have her palms beaten, to have her mother manipulate her and be her mother’s “creation” because that’s somehow “better” ?
I’m gonna be mean for a sec but this needs to be said
Stop reading from your assholes and start reading using your eyes.

Love a series that gives me a guy to root for across 80% of the series as he actively attempts to capture, kill, torture, or maim the protagonists. Rasten deserves to be winning and is from Winter Be My Shield by Jo Spurrier and its sequels.

queen starfire and batgirl~
kori haters do not interact
english isn't my first language!
graybab shippers please do not read ahead if you like this ship
i just can't sit with the fact that barbara has been pretty mean towards kori in past comics
i haven't read much comics of batfam and titans
tbf i am currently enjoying the lucifer comic series a lot
so idk how it's going on right now
back at the topic
she even went far enough to sl*t shame her by saying how her body can attract any male
Tumblr media
if old comic readers remember
i do remember the time barbara was pretty mean to starfire when she asked barbara to lend her ship to kori so she can save her people
like can we have one- no wait all the universes where it's just these two being good friends? hey i don't mind one universe having them as lovers if done right
barbara is a very sweet lady she is not the type of person to judge anyone for how they look, where they are from and how they appear to be
this same lady comforts people no matter how evil or messed up to head they are
dc stop with the love triangle it's time they do barbara and kori justice
i have seen fic writers make them have better interaction
call me biased but i really love graykory possibly due to growing up watching the series and reading comics when it was them being full lovey dovey
barbara being forced into this just to make a dramatic love triangle
before i get attacked for "you just hate they grew up together"
no i hate it for the retcon abuse.......barbara is also supposed to be older than grayson
this doesn't feel right
it just doesn't sit with me and many old comic readers

Something to think about
Hamnet:
Led an unprovoked (technically we don't know if that is true, but let's assume) attack against the rats in the garden
Used an unfair, war crime-coded tactic to win
Killed many innocents with it
= Narratively presented in a good light, has the background of his war crime told and explained (actually going too far because it comes across as though Solovet's abuse and involvement are supposed to excuse it, which it does not. Hamnet was an adult who is responsible for his actions; your tragic backstory is tragic but it does not excuse your war crimes).
Also, not to mention, judged Gregor, a child, for an inborn talent he has, conveying that it makes him a bad person. Either way, he is supposed to be sympathetic and everyone buys it.
Sandwich:
Led an unprovoked (technically we don't know if that is true, but let's assume) attack against the diggers
Used an unfair, war crime-coded tactic to win
Killed many innocents with it
= Narratively presented in a bad light, has nothing about the background or circumstances of his war crime explained (we get like, what, one line from Vikus?), and yet that one line immediately makes him without a doubt or question a horrible, evil person and even an unreliable prophet (because your moral alignment absolutely is connected to the validity of your prophetic abilities, yes).
Also, not to mention, he is not responsible for the tragedies he's seen, and very likely only tried to help the Regalians and Gregor deal with them by trying to write his visions down and giving Gregor his sword. Either way, he's supposed to be unsympathetic and everyone buys it.

every time i re-watch season three i'm like bella's character isn't THAT poorly developed surely she has a few episodes focused solely on her character alone and not her mind-numbing will-they-won't-they thing with the guy who invented having no boundaries. and every single time without fail i am proven wrong!!

Went to that post to see about installing Into the Pit and I got curious so I looked at the books and. Guys.
In the recipe book, Glamrock Chica has three recipes. Food is her whole thing, the original Chica got a good amount at least, but neither of them have the most recipes. All the other Glamrocks have five or more recipes.
They made a cookbook. And gave the food animatronic. Three recipes. They gave the food animatronic. Three. Recipes.
Like, at what point does the lack of care for Chica specifically just become insulting? They even gave her fucking maze to Monty in the new interactive novel. The recipe for Cupcakes is in Roxy's section now. Not a single one of the Glamrock recipes are Glamrock Chica themed.
They really just can't give her anything can they?

The official new edition of Letters from an Actor has arrived and I'm working on a post about how my version is better, but for now, I say, this is interesting:
Some thirty years ago, Richardson was rehearsing a play with a man whom I shall call Cyril Sunt. The latter was the last of the old-time directors on the British side of the Atlantic. By “old-time,” I mean abusive, cruel, sarcastic, and contemptuous of actors. He had (and has) his American equivalents, of course, but let them be nameless here.
In my physical copy, printed in 1984, and also in the PDF I worked from, scanned from a copy printed in the '60s (I think), that passage goes like this:
Some thirty years ago, Richardson was rehearsing a play directed by Basil Dean. The latter was the last of the old-time directors on the British side of the Atlantic. By “old-time,” I mean abusive, cruel, sarcastic, and contemptuous of actors. His American equivalent, albeit far younger, would be Jed Harris. Mr. Harris, however, has changed. So far as I know, Mr. Dean never did.
The PDF also had this author's note pasted onto the title page:
Since publication of LETTERS FROM AN ACTOR, Mr Basil Dean and Sir Ralph Richardson have strongly denied that there is any truth in the anecdote concerning them which appears on pages 51 and 52 of this book. I told it in good faith but I am now quite certain that it has no foundation in fact.
The new edition doesn't seem to have the note - looking for it was how I discovered the weird changes. Did Redfield himself make the changes? If so, why weren't they in the 1984 edition? In the afterword (very interesting, I'd post it but I think I've committed enough copyright infringement), Redfield's son Adam says there are a few changes he (Adam) would have liked to make, but didn't. He didn't even change the part where his dad got his age wrong. So. What's with Cyril Sunt and his nameless American equivalents?

Nothing too against Amy Pond (definitely a little-)
But Amy's Choice is one lf the few episodes that makes me actually believe she loves Rory- maybe also Pandorica Opens (she remade that man with all of her other favorite things)
But throughout the episode she's only touching Rory. Putting on his poncho, adjusting it later, staying closer to him when both Rory and the Doctor are knocked out, the whole "not wanting to be in a world without Rory" thing, etc.
In most episodes I find it hard seeing Amy's love for Rory, but I think thats just from how I express love for the people I know-
For me there are very few scenea between Amy and Rory that makes them feel like more than roommates or friends- this isn't to say that I see Amy loving the doctor more, she has a similar air or vibe to the doctor as she does to Rory (I'd call the three closer to a poly relationship if I had to with the way Amy acts the same to both most of the time)
But that might just be Amy's character, seeming to live her boys on the same level but in small moments she's showing just how important Rory is to her- just hard for me to see those moments. Their relationship has always felt clunky to me, rushed or just slightly off, like two puzzle peices that were forced to fit and are from different puzzle boxes. And the thing is, I know that the people working on Doctor Who can make a love story that I believe even if it doesn't use any of the love languages I know- The Doctor and River Song, Rose and the Doctor, the beginning of Rose and Micky. Actually Amy and Rory feels like a retelling of Rose and Micky but one where Rose isn't as interested in the doctor but still falls out of love with Micky- only we don't see the beginning of the story.
And now I'm just repeating myself- I would like someone to change my mind on this, I've seen so many posts of people loving Rory and Amy's relationship and seeing them together as amazing but I just can't. Someone help me out here, yeah?

I'm very new to the fandom, and I've noticed a lot of weird in fighting over the ships with El, Mike and Will. I don't get it?? I think both are cute I don't understand why everyone has to fight over shipping. It baffles me
it’s not uncommon for stories with love triangles to have fandoms which are very passionate about their ships (on both ends). i think the will-mike-el love triangle garners more attention because of the way they are written in the show (poorly written canon ship and well written ship hidden under the subtext). only way to deal with it is to filter the content you consume 😔👍🏽
