I drank too much coffe in the evening and now I'm struggling to get some sleep. So have my 1 AM Hyapollo Half-Dead AU (or Zombie AU, which ever you prefer)

Basically Hyacinthus was ressurected from the dead through dark magic or a one-in-a-lifetime glitch in the life-death cycle. He is a bit off and doozy from the sudden shift but still obtains most of his personality. However, due to being a disrespectful defiant to the natural order (I imagine Persephone often call him as such), Hyacinthus cannot eat human food like before or feast on ambrosia like the gods.

So to keep his lover alive and not hungry while not endangering others, Apollo lets Hyacinthus drink his ichor and eat some of his flesh. Yeah, allowing your lover to sustain on your own godly blood if their love language, don't judge.

Apollo is a full god so ichor loss isn't a problem to him. It might hurt when he got bitten, but Apollo is willing to do anything for his defiant-to-the-natural-order Hyacinthus. Anything to keep him well fed and happy.

Edit: I'm gonna re-name this to Theophagy AU. The new one sounds fancier :>

Day 25 - Scars That Last

Another "Hyacinthus Lives" AU? In this economy? It's more likely than you think

This one is even less fleshed out than what I had in mind for the Flower Shop AU but the general idea is that a very much alive and very amnesiac Hyacinthus is sought out by the emperors and taken in as a weapon to use against the gods (specifically against Apollo)

It's a little bit of a mix of a Winter Soldier AU (even if he doesn't remember anything, I doubt that Hyacinthus would go along the emperor's plans if they didn't brainwash his moral code away) and a Lityerses-but-make-it-angstier AU, specifically because in this scenario I think he'd be working under Commodus

This should be the moment where Apollo recognizes him, I guess? That's gotta be a real punch in the gut

It's gonna be 10 chapters long, all from the POV of Hyacinthus while he's in that semi-stasis between life and death and immortality, because Apollo turned him into a flower as he died.

so yeah. Hyacinthus being a ghost to Cabin 7. He doesn't talk to them often, cuz he doesn't wanna freak/weird them out, but each chapter focuses on Hyacinthus and his thoughts on a single Apollo kid- Lee, Michael, Will, Austin, Kayla, Jerry, Gracie, & Yan.

This is also an excuse for me to start fleshing out the kid's characters a bit more (especially the last three) for any future fics featuring them :3

The insurmountable urge to write a Kaiju no.8 fanfic with a random ass idea I came up with

(FT. a bunch of home-made lore... imma say this is an au so ya'll don't yell at me.)

So the UN takes note of Japan's issues with the Humanoid Kaiju (8, 9, 10) and Greece offers one of their divisions (known as the Amazon Divison) to assist.

Japan takes the offer and the Amazon Unit comes to Japan to assist.

There are 2 captains and 14 officers

Captain Ioaniss Gabris (Codename: Angel)

Vice Captain Iris Gabris (Codename: Iris)

^ The Captain and Vice Captain are siblings. They bicker quite often during recreational time, but the second a Kaiju shows up they're in battle mode.

Officer Asterios Ariti (Codename: Zeus)

^ Despite what his codename suggests, he's actually a pretty nice guy, albeit very serious in battle, and a bit girl crazy. He wields a spear made from the Kaiju codenamed Cronos.

Officer Marinos Ariti (Codename: Poseidon)

^ He's the oldest of the Ariti siblings. He specializes in handling seaborne Kaiju. He wields a trident made from the Kaiju codenamed Typhon.

Officer Orfeas Ariti (Codename: Pluto)

^ He codenamed himself the Roman Version of Hades because he wanted to be different. Unlike the actual mythology (Where Zeus is the youngest), Orfeas is the youngest. He wields a bident made from the Kaiju codenamed Cronos.

Officer Eirini Athanasiou (Codename: Hera)

^ Unlike the actual mythology, no. She is not married to Zeus. She actually hates the dude. Since Hera has no confirmed weapon in mythology, I settled for her using a rifle with rounds that secrete a scent that spooks the Kaiju. She's more of a back fighter.

Officer Kore Chloros (Codename: Demeter)

^ A very formidable fighter in battle, but outside of it you can bet this woman is giving everyone flowers. She loves plants. She wields a staff made from the Kaiju codenamed Cronos.

Officer Charis Chronis (Codename: Hestia)

^ Mostly a Combat Medic. The eldest out of all of these officers. Very motherly. Would probably scold Kafka for staying up late studying. Also dabbles into research regarding eating Kaiju. Wields a regulation rifle with Flamethrower rounds.

Officer Ermis Hannas (Codename: Hermes)

^ The youngest of these officers (aged 19). He wields a staff made from the Kaiju codenamed Mousiki (ΜΟΥΣΙΚΗ). His suit is much different than the others in his unit. His suit is built with extra speed in mind, thanks to the law implemented in May of 20__, the year he joined, which saw the Greek Defense Force being forced to make all new Officers and etc. able to escape alive.

Officer Sofia Manos (Codename: Athena)

^ The best of the best when it comes to battle strategy. Did 6 years in the Hellenic Armed Forces before being reccomended for the Greek Kaiju Defense Force. She is one who is mainly focused on removing civillians who were unable to evacuate. In a pinch, she has a shield she can use to deflect attacks. She does not currently have a Kaiju Weapon, but has expressed a want for one. She is equipped with a standard regulation rifle.

Officer Alkemini (Codename: Ares)

^ What can I say? She's earned the codename. She's the most ruthless fighter on the Greek force. Also a single queen. This is just in my au, but Soshiro was the only one able to tame this wild beast (If you get what I mean–). She carries a machine gun.

Officer Foteini Agnes (Codename: Artemis)

^ An Aro/Ace queen. The elder of the Agnes twins. Wields a bow made of the Kaiju codenamed Python. So does Officer Apollo.

Officer Heliodoros "Helios" Agnes (Codename: Apollo)

^ A gay king. Probably has dressed in drag at least once. The younger of the Agnes twins. He is the ex boyfriend of two officers from one of the other Greek Units (Hyacinthus and Daphne). Much like his sister, he wields a bow made from the Kaiju codenamed Python. In a pinch, he can switch to a close range rifle equipped with either sonic or stun rounds.

Officer Argyris Martis (Codename: Dionysus)

^ A heavy drinker outside of batttle. Nearly always has alchol on him. Recently, Hestia and Aphrodite have forced him to start drinking less of it. He gets the shakes easily. Some believe the reason he was so good in battle was because of the drinking. Currently in the process of being prescribed anxiety medication. Wields a standard regulation rifle with poison rounds.

Officer (Dr.) Eftychia Eliades (Codename: Aphrodite)

^ This officer has a doctorate in experimenting with Kaiju. She uses pheromones from Kaiju to confuse enemy Kaiju and open them up for the others to attack. She does these all with her own lab made Pheremone Rounds (Patent Pending). Her two titles as Officer and Doctor are used interchangeably.

Officer Miltiadis Eliades (Codename: Hepheastus)

^ This guy is a total bottom. Unlike in the mythology, him and Eftychia are happy to be married. He took her last name. He made his own warhammer from the Kaiju codenamed Mimas.

to preface, this au has gone thru a lot. a rather sizeable lot. it's mortality and immortality discussion and contemplation, totally naked-self interest on my part. essentially last five paragraphs of hyacinthus from orpheus's wifeless-core debut album in ovid's metamorphoses, specifically charles martin translation(i came up with the idea before reading it then i read it "oh. yeah that's like. what i was thinking exactly just written better")

thesis: dude sells drugs and accidentally becomes god, gets depression

so will takes the place of asklepios. since yknow same canonical dad (even if in this case his mom swooned for another guy and so apollo kills her but saves asklepios from her womb since he couldn't bear losing his pp juice). so dude is making hella drugs but unfortunately drugs aren't always enough to keep people from dying if they get absyrtus-ed. dude is not happy that counting his dead siblings are needing both his hands.

probably a whole pjo-style revolt against the gods a la aristophanes in plato's symposium. once will figures out apollo killed his mom maybe. wouldn't be an ancient greek story without murder and/or adultery

nicos here too. how, i have no clue. he dies at some point that's all i know

so bro is dead! will is not happy about this! nico has told him at some point they would always meet again in hades but will does not want to entrust his friend to the immortals and gives the corpse drugs and after a good night's sleep nico is alive again huzzah! now they face the wrath of god

will dies and then becomes immortal and realizes he will never step foot into the underworld. he will never be able to see any of his dead siblings or friends ever again. he will have to eternally serve the gods that locked everybody he loved behind gates he can never open, break, nor climb. the end

(maybe will finds nico right before he dies(the 2nd time(maybe more)) and turns him into the snake around his staff. who knows)

HAHA bold of you to assume i’ve been having fun lately

i haven’t but it’s just work bullshit. i be aight probably.

in general i’ve been lightly amusing myself with the role swap au for paramour where amon is the rich one and hya is the butler. due to their positions in canon this au is entirely possible bc

in canon amon was adopted by a middle-upper class family when he was 10-11 but he ran away due to not wanting to be forced to be someone he wasn’t (they wanted to change his name etc etc). after he ran away is when he met his gang (including erecia) tm. in this au tho instead of running away he would’ve stayed with the family and accepted them as his parents etc. his legal name would be coriandrum farrah but he still goes by amon bc he likes his name. he wouldn’t know the gang/erecia etc but his personality is still pretty similar. growing up in halifax (or the slums) does a number to ya lol. only difference is that he’s more openly (mentally?) thirsty about hya and while still secretive, isn’t necessarily as Malicious with it as canon.

bc hya is an illegitimate child anyway, if his father cast him aside instead of keeping him from his mother to try and control her, hya would’ve ended up with her regardless. she would keep his name as is (fully hyacinthus) but instructs him to go by shortened versions of his name once he’s older to not draw attention to himself. hya is also very similar in this au tho i’d say he’s more mellow than canon; simply bc he grew up around someone who loves him and not neglected and in the shadow of his better off siblings. he does know his father was wealthy but doesn’t know who he was or anything about his siblings & pretty much vice versa except tagetes knows he exists bc of course they do.

anyway in this au hya gets hired to work at amon’s family’s estate as a butler and even though hya is grouchy and not interested in doing his job 98% of the time (he’s still spoiled even tho he doesn’t have $$ lmao) amon keeps him around bc (1) hya’s hot and amon is a simp it’s so fucking FUNNY (2) he’s actually intrigued by hya and kind of wants to know him more. however things get interesting when they unintentionally uncover stuff about who hya actually is and other stuff falls into place.

it’s actually a much more tame storyline than actual paramour bc there isn’t any death (so huzzah aloe is alive!) or any of the more horror esque elements of paramour going on.

really this whole au is an excuse to be in amon’s head and see how weak he is for hya bc bitch same 😭

Well, this sucks. I wrote this and then Tumblr said haha f*ck you and deleted it before I could save it so ATTEMPT 2! Part 6 (I think.) This is two parts in one day!

TW: attempted murder (okay this escalated quickly), blood

Premise/last time/in between this time and last time on this Hadestown AU: Orpheus is stuck in Hades’s prison. His attempts to escape are fruitless as he’s too weak to walk, even though his cell is open now. Hades is contending with his emotions by forcing a very sick kid to sing for him until Orph starts crying. Hermes, Apollo and Dionysus are finally making forward progress. Persephone is out of wine. Achilles and Patroclus have decided that they actually do want to get out of here. Eurydice is increasingly worried about Orpheus, who is half-dead but she doesn’t know this information.

Persephone had taken the last watch of the night. She’d run out of wine the previous morning and being sober made it easier to think. It also forced her to remember her husband. What had she seen in him? Persephone wonders. Hades, who kept her locked away like a bird in a cage.

The sound of footsteps pulls her from her thoughts. She shakes Eurydice awake and calls to Achilles and Patroclus. “Someone’s coming! Take Orpheus and run.”

“I can fight,” Achilles says. “Patroclus, help Eurydice.”

“Persephone?” A voice calls.

“Dionysus?” Persephone responds, moving towards it warily.

“Mom!” He waves.

“Dionysus. Didn’t I tell you never, ever to come down here again? What don’t you understand about ‘no’?”

“It’s not his fault,” Hermes speaks up. “Where’s Orpheus?”

“And you brought half of Olympus with you.” She shakes her head. “Follow Achilles, Hermes. Apollo, what are you doing here?”

“My lover, Hyacinthus, have you seen him?” Apollo pleads.

“I’m sure I have. There are more important matters at hand, Apollo. Best of luck talking Hades down.”

“You won’t help?” He asks, horrified.

“No. I’m not going back. I don’t belong down here.”

He sighs. “I know the feeling.”

Eurydice and Patroclus set Orpheus down at the sound of the commotion.

“Eurydice!” Hermes calls.

“You came?” She asks.

He runs to her side. “He’s breathing. Thank the gods.”

“He’s been like this for five days, Hermes.” She blinks back tears. “Will he... will he wake when we cross the Styx?”

He shakes his head. “It’s not that simple.”

“Tell me how to get him to wake up. I’d go to the ends of the world for him. Hermes, I love him. He can’t die.”

“Shhh... I know, I know. Cross the Styx. I’ll handle the rest. Let’s get back to the others.”

Hermes helps carry Orpheus back to camp.

“Apollo!” Hermes says, “we can’t waste time. We’ve gotta go. Now. Listen, Persephone, Hades has Orpheus’s shade. It’s too much to explain right now, but I need to find him. You need to get across the Styx.”

Persephone nods. “If we leave now, it won’t be long before we arrive at the banks. Hermes, it’s a long road to Hadestown. That’s where Orpheus will be.”

“I’m the god of haste,” he says with a smile. “I’ll find him.”

Orpheus sits against the wall, staring out the door of his cell. He’s free. No chains, no locked door. But he’s still here. And he had been for hours. He’d tried to crawl out of his cell, but his leg had stopped him. It’s still bleeding, he notices. He doesn’t have the energy to try to stop it. The blood loss is making him dizzier than usual.

The door to the cell beside him opens, and a woman enters, seemingly without noticing he is freed from his bindings. His neighbor begs for mercy. Then he shouts in pain. Orpheus hears his gasping breaths.The door closes.

The woman begins to march down the hall. She’s nearly out of sight when stops and turns around. Her shadow fills his cell suddenly. “How did you get his open?” She questions him.

“Hades,” Orpheus mumbles. “Hades opened it.”

She grabs the collar of his torn shirt. “Liar!” She spits. She turns up her nose. “You smell of life.”

Orpheus coughs. She smirks. “You aren’t dead.”

“What?” He rasps.

“A living boy in the realm of the dead. Hades will hear of this.” The door slams shut behind her.

The man in the neighboring cell groans. “You okay?” Orpheus asks. He isn’t sure why he bothers.

“Ugh... yeah... yeah. She kicked me in the stomach.” He gasps out. “Hey, wait... Are you... I do know you!” He exclaims. “You’re Apollo’s kid! Orpheus! I knew your father. My name... my name is Hyacinthus.”

“My name is... Orpheus,” he remembers. “I was shot in the leg trying to get out of here. I can’t remember how I...”

“She said you weren’t dead.”

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know if you’re dead?” Hyacinthus asks.

Orpheus closes his eyes. “What does it matter?”

Hades hears a knock at his office door. “Come in,” he calls, dropping his pen back into a jar of writing instruments.

“Hades, it’s the boy. The thorn in our side. Orpheus lives.”

He looks up. “Thanatos-”

“Thanatos lied, as expected, Lord Hades. I suggest you kill him yourself. Get it over with.”

Hades leaps to his feet. “Bring Thanatos to me. Immediately.” He growls, “The boy is mine.”

By the time he flings open the door, the woman is already gone. He marches to his prison. The grand building is halfway under the ground. Darker. A better punishment for fools like this damned mortal boy whose song had weakened Hades’s world. He moves down the stairs, his footsteps echoing as he descends. His anger grows. At Thanatos, for lying. Persephone, for abandoning him. And Orpheus, for his manipulation. How easily he’s gotten away with anything he’d asked. Hades had let him go. Hades had shown softness and now his kingdom slips away, whisked out of his grasp by a mortal boy, a traitor and his own wife.

He finds the door to the boy’s cell. Orpheus is unchained. Hades had freed him, he remembers.

“Hades,” Orpheus glances up.

Hades grabs him by the neck and yanks him to his feet. He sees the desperate fear in the boy’s eyes. Orpheus makes a sharp noise of pain.

“Alive,” Hades whispers, low and dangerous.

“W-what?” Orpheus stutters.

“A king must do everything himself.”

Orpheus’s breaths shake. “Lord Hades...” he whispers.

“You should’ve ran when you had the chance, fool.” Hades draws a knife.

“No... no!” Orpheus pleads.

He yelps as Hades drives the blade through his gut. Hades drops him. The boy crumples to the floor, clutching his stomach. He coughs and blood falls from his lips.

“Hades...” he wimpers.

The king of underworld watches the poet struggle for breath for a moment. He remembers the song. He can’t bear it. He can’t stand to finish him off. He turns and shuts the door behind him.
