you ever get hyperfixations but not in the sense that you picked up a piece of media and just kinda held on to it but more that you brushed up against a piece of media and it attacked you like a rabid dog out of nowhere? Cuz same

No one asked but I had a sudden inspiration to make a Lucy Carlyle/Francesca Bridgerton, Daphne Bridgerton/Scarlett McCain moodboard because yknow, Bridgerton sisters and Stroudverse yada yada
There was news that Phoebe Dynevor was going to be Scarlett in the live action series for Scarlett and Browne, undergoing planning or sumn abt a billion years ago? Or something abt her being the writer for the show idk
what I know is that if it's true, then the Bridgerton sisters are in the Stroudverse and I find that cute.
I'm hard pressed looking for pictures of Phoebe with red, not styled hair and not smiling and so that's the only picture I have for Phoebe!Scarlett. Now I feel like reading all the Stroud books again, dang. All of em, including the Bartimaeus sequence :"D

Since the universe of Lockwood and Co seems to have been extremely similar to our own prior to The Problem, I think its interesting that British government and other institutions, as well as London and it's surrounding areas and landmarks are all reasonably well described but absolutely no mention is ever made of the Royal Family and I think its reasonable to conclude they all got insta-killed by a MASSIVE wave of pissed off Visitors in the 50-60s. Either their own ancestors or those that came out of all the stolen stuff The Empire looted and surrounded it's royalty with on a daily basis. Like something very angry came out of the Koh-i-noor or the Stone of Scone and that was the end of House of Windsor and now Brits being Brits no one talks about it they just keep calm and carry on.

i didnt realize there were teasers of excella and the flowers in the resident evil 4 remake wesker scene until literally like now and the possibility of a resident evil 5 remake is so exciting to me. it was the first resident evil game i ever played as i’ve had issues with the whole zombie games in the past (i couldnt watch anything with zombies because i was squeamish and my mind would fuck up my senses) but finally played re with my best friend. we replayed it so many times and i got to play the other games,
im hoping we get to see more of sheva. i really do. i wish they expanded more on her backstory. i always thought of how chris had that flashback of lost in nightmares and maybe they did something with that too for sheva (that may be too much considering her backstory but maybe a tamer aspect can be implemented)
i wish they went with the original concept art for excella but i love her final look too. i wonder what they’re going to do with her in the remake
i hope they dont fuck up wesker’s character. from all the games i played, mutuals/writers, and my best friend they all hope they accurately depict him instead of straight up character assassination (cocky and angry the entire time) which i agree. i hope they add more dynamic to him.
hopefully capcom takes the things they learnt and did well with the remake of re4 and adapt it to re5′s remake :)

And for Wesker, we don't know much of his childhood. The main point of Project Wesker was to gather intelligent children with advantageous genes. And surprise, surprise. Albert was one of them. But I just wonder what his parents done? Was he bought in a sense? Was he kidnapped? I'd assume that Spencer was a very wealthy person and has surely paid the parents for the sake of continuing his project. And Albert was taken away without much of a say in this. Thus beginning his non-existent childhood that was filled with certain beliefs. How humanity is self-destruction and it was time for a re-birth. I can say that the symbol of Ouroboros has been used for education’s sake. ( How it probably went: "Ouroboros symbol very clearly depicts how do people destroy themselves by their own sinful acts. Bad destiny is created by ourselves, not by god or anyone." | A bit taken from the Wiki: Tok Thompson and Gregory Allen Schrempp cautiously allow that this new idea might "mark a bold new interdisciplinary venture made possible by modern science" ) I feel like the belief of specifically Ouroboros has certainly made Wesker believe in it more. But it is about re-creation, and Wesker is keen on that. A new evolution.
But his childhood has been filled of that stuff. Of his education, and perhaps even in childhood, Wesker has kept that impassive nature. He probably rarely smiled as a child.

#OTD in 1939 – Death of Mick the Miller, the greatest greyhound in the history of the sport.
Mick The Miller is the most famous greyhound of all time. He was born in 1926 in the village of Killeigh, Co Offaly, Ireland at Millbrook House, the home of parish curate, Fr Martin Brophy. When he was born, Mick was the runt of the litter but Michael Greene, who worked for Fr Brophy, singled  the little pup out as a future champion and insisted that he be allowed to rear him. With constant…

do you ever find yourself irrationally annoyed about the answer someone gave on a game show because for the past four days ive been getting endlessly frustrated at some guy on the weakest link reboot for passing on a question that began with "what english queen regnant" because oh my fucking god my dude, there have only been 6 undisputed queens regnant and 2 of them were marys and 2 were elizabeths, just name any of them, why are you passing???????
like i dont expect everyone to know that mary ii ruled alongside her husband william of orange or for anyone to think quick enough to try and process of elimination of it (liz ii, victoria and liz i are varying levels of easy to eliminate), but just give an answer at least. its not that difficult to recall both lizes and victoria, and mary i had the nickname bloody mary, like. sure mary ii and anne are lesser known, but that doesnt matter. just name one of the more known 4. maybe youd get it just for mary. maybe you wouldnt. but you definitely wont get it if you pass you absolute buffoon.
...do you see why i said it was irrational?

an update on my reading of The Whispering Skull
the skull is so much better in the books. in the show he felt like a cross between some otherworldly thing and a pathetic man. and not a particularly successful cross at that. book skull is a snarky little bitch in the most fun way. he's an addition to the group and his contribution is complaints and sarcasm that no one takes seriously. I love him.
on the other hand, i definitely like the shows Joplin better. I get what the books are going for with him, but it felt more developed in the show. something in the way he connects to the mirror and in his connection with George. I'm only to chapter 11, so it hasn't started clicking together in the story yet, but there is just something that feels missing from that character and the build towards the end. I'm having a hard time with exactly what that is though. maybe I'll put my finger on it as I keep going. or maybe I'll change my mind

The Buddha's Last Instruction
by Mary Oliver
Original Language English
“Make of yourself a light,” said the Buddha, before he died. I think of this every morning as the east begins to tear off its many clouds of darkness, to send up the first signal -- a white fan streaked with pink and violet, even green. An old man, he lay down between two sala trees, and he might have said anything, knowing it was his final hour. The light burns upward, it thickens and settles over the fields. Around him, the villagers gathered and stretched forward to listen. Even before the sun itself hangs, disattached, in the blue air, I am touched everywhere by its ocean of yellow waves. No doubt he thought of everything that had happened in his difficult life. And then I feel the sun itself as it blazes over the hills, like a million flowers on fire -- clearly I'm not needed, yet I feel myself turning into something of inexplicable value. Slowly, beneath the branches, he raised his head. He looked into the faces of that frightened crowd.

A Lockwood & Co. Medieval AU
Lucy x Lockwood // Rated M
Other tags: Butch!Lucy, Queer!Lockyle, Knight/Lord, Devotional Love, Yearning, References to Book Canon, Graphic Depictions of Violence, Mild Gender Dysphoria, Medieval Warfare, Slow Burn, Heavy Angst
Luce Carlyle has struggled her whole life to prove herself. First a runaway, then a mercenary, now a sworn Knight to Lord Lockwood, she has shown her worth in battle against the armies of men -- and the armies of the risen dead. But her knightly devotion to Lockwood is muddied by something else: an unspoken, painful longing that she can never be certain is fully met.
When Lord Rotwell moves to march on the Queen, Luce and her companions (and one very ill-tempered horse) are drawn unwillingly into battle, where they'll discover the true horror at the heart of the Holy War. And after an unbearable loss, Luce is pushed to her breaking point: she'll bring down the Monarchy if she must, to protect the very thing she treasures most.
Admitting her love? That's a little harder.

He lets out a sigh that he'd been holding in for some time, rubbing his temples as if that would prevent the upcoming headache that might arise. "We should be somewhat lucky that my kind of authority and yours, including your expertise on masterminding them gets us out of almost anything. But do not remind me of that. A couple of half-wits they were."
