Okay . What about pedro × reader
Hear me out ...
They are dating for a few months but keeping it a secret the reader is also an actress and in her new movie her Co star is into her and with the interviews everyone is talking about in in social media . So pedro gets jealous and show up at her work ... maybe they fight or idk . I'm not sure about the ending
Pairing: Pedro Pascal x Actress!reader
Summary: Pedro’s jealous of one of your co-stars
Warnings: a tiny bit of angst because I didn’t feel like doing a lot, and allusion to smut
A/n: why do yall like jealous Pedro so much!?
Pedro was not a jealous man, he knew you were his, just like he was yours.
He didn't mind the stares you'd attract from other men, he didn't mind the shameless flirting everyone always directed your way, and he didn't even mind having to see you kiss other men on screen... but there's a limit to everything.
He'd stumbled by accident in the comment section of your most recent post, a picture with the cast of the new movie you were shooting, and god if he wished he hadn't.
He meant to write a cute comment, because even though nobody knew about you two, nobody ever seemed to notice the borderline flirty words he'd leave under your pictures, and now he understood why.
He wasn't completely oblivious to the online conspiracies about you and Andrew, you had told him about it, about all the edits and fans and ships or whatever, however, there was a small detail you had forgotten to inform him about: the guy obviously liked you.
And who could blame him right?
Pedro. He could fucking blame him.
It didn't take long before he was furiously stalking his own girlfriend's Instagram.
you look stunning darling
Darling? When the fuck did he start calling you that?
I think I just had a heart attack
Oh, fuck off
And that wasn't even the worst part. Fuck no. The worst part was the fucking videos. the interviews. The way his eyes never left your fucking body. The way he touched your hand and lingered just enough for him to notice. the way he didn't even try to hide his pathetic attempts at flirting even when he knew he was being fucking filmed.
By the time Pedro shut his phone, he was ready to go have a “talk” with this guy
But first, he needed to see you. Now.
__ __ __
"God please if it's Gary tell him that I don't need to practice that scene again, I got it." you rolled your eyes as you instructed your assistant to open the trailer's door after hearing a knock.
"sure thing, but I don't think he can be so easily persuad-" her voice trailed off as she took in the man in front of her.
"Hi" she smiled at Pedro "It's-it's not Gary" she shot you a look.
"what, who is it?" you asked, momentarily forgetting the lipstick in your hand as you got up.
"Pedro?"
"hi sweetheart"
"what are you doing here?" you couldn't hide your confusion.
"Just wanted to see you," he said, entering the trailer.
"Oh," you smiled, before glancing at your assistant "I'm sorry Ana, could you give us a moment?"
"no problem, but remember you need to be on set in '15"
"yes ma'am" You joked, giving her a pretend salute.
She chuckled as she closed the door behind her.
"they have you on a tight schedule huh?" Pedro murmured, wasting no time before wrapping his arms around your back, forcing you flush against him.
"they do" you nodded, standing on your toes "So you're not gonna get what you came all this way for" you taunted, leaving a quick kiss on his lips.
He grunted, unsatisfied, and pulled you back for another kiss. This one much hungrier.
"Is that what you think I only think about?"
"well you don't make much of a case for yourself" you laughed softly.
"that's your fault" he breathed "If you weren't the most stunning woman on earth maybe I wouldn't be so all over you"
"maybe" you shrugged, lazily drawing patterns on his chest "Maybe not"
"I need to talk to you," he said, suddenly more serious.
A cloud of dread dropped onto you.
"oh," you murmured, taking a step back "about what?"
He looked around the place before finding your eyes again.
"I want to tell everyone"
You frowned
"I want to tell people we're together"
You were taken aback.
He was always the one opposed to it. He didn't want you to get caught in all the drama and gossip inevitably heading your way, no matter how many times you told him you didn't care.
"What?" you smiled "Why- I mean why now?"
"I want everyone to know you're mine. And I'm yours" he said " including Andrew"
You shot him a look "Andrew?"
"You didn't tell me he's obsessed with you"
"what? He's not"
"he is baby,"
"how would you even know?"
"I saw it"
"When? You've never met him"
"I saw the comments, and the interviews, and the videos"
"And you think just because in an interview he did what? made me laugh, he likes me?" you scoffed "That's ridiculous Pedro"
"I don't want to tell everyone we're together just because you're jealous of a guy I work with,"
"that's not why I want to tell sweetheart" he reassured you, taking a step towards you " I want everyone to know just how much I love you, that's why. And if that means that guys like Andrew will back off... even better"
"He's not into me" you insisted
A sly smile pulled at his lips "God baby, you really have no idea what you do to men, do you?"
"He's not into me."
"Sure" he mocked "and tell me, when was the last time he didn't do something you asked him?" He asked, moving some hair out of your face.
An almost comical silence spread through the room.
"That's what I thought" he nodded, using his fingers to raise your chin.
"Maybe he's just polite"
He leaned closer, his mouth ghosting yours "Or maybe he's just in love with my girl" he breathed a moment before kissing you deeply, one hand to the back of your neck and one to your ass.
"so what do you say?" he asked once you parted "You ready to tell the world?"
"Only if you are"
"oh you have no idea" he murmured, suddenly picking you up and pinning you against a wall.
A small gasp fled your lips, but he silenced it with a kiss.
"Pedro..." you warned him, tightening your legs' grip on his waist.
"they can wait" he read your mind "You're the start after all"
You couldn't help but laugh at that.
"you're a bad influence" you breathed, causing a smirk to land on his lips as he kissed your neck.
"sweetheart?" he suddenly asked
"Yeah?" you murmured, already out of breath.
"Whose trailer is next to this one?"
You paused a moment, pondering your options.
"Andrew's" you finally spoke, going for the truth “Why?”
By the look of it, that’s exactly what he wanted to hear.
“Baby,I think you know why”

I'm typically only a reblogger when it comes to AFTG, but I physically couldn't help it when I stumbled across these shirts. So, here are some funny shirts that the Foxes would wear and why:
Aaron, for obvious reasons. Nicky have it to him and he wears it in secret. It's his comfort pajamas.
Renee gave this to Andrew and he wore it one (1) time and it was at an exy banquet while wild and fervent protests about his past were all over.
Any of them, really, but I imagine a three way tie between Wymack (not paid enough for this), Alison (she gives the vibe), and Dan (when anyone talks to her that she doesn't know)
Matt vibes. Dan defffffffinitely pegs that man. He thanks her.
Andrew. Renee gave him this one, too, but it's a common sight.
Aaron. Maybe Katelyn got this for him as a joke and he wears it as some pathetic, wet cat, Minyard way of processing love. They got engaged the same day. It becomes Aaron's lucky shirt.
This is either Nicky or Allison's. I feel like Nicky would wear it ironically, but it could also be one of those lesbian things for Alison
Aaron. Neil gets it for him and it's how they start to bond.
Kevin, little history bitch
Bee. The team gets it for her for her birthday. She wears it religiously every Friday.
Hear me out: Kevin. It starts as a joke because he's the only single fox (in a world where he and Thea aren't together, I'm not particularly fond of that ship), but then he wears it on a date because he's a dumbass at heart and forgot that the team would totally fuck with his closet and he managed to charm and bag the sexiest, most emotionally intelligent woman ever. They last for two years before Kevin finally realized he's gay, but they stay friends and laugh over everything.
Dan. She gives mad homebody vibes outside of exy.
Neil. Self explanatory.
Matt. He's such a wife guy, and honestly, good for him. I know that I would 100% let Danielle Wilds do whatever the hell she decided was best for me. Oh my shit.
Renee. This was from Andrew, as revenge for the other shirts. She treasures it, but only wears it on his birthday.
Alison and Neil buy it for the twins. I'm a strong advocate for bitchy friends. Love that for them
They only manage to evade death via Neil's survival skills, a pair of strappy heels, a spoon, and a small frog. Don't ask.
Matt and Nicky unironically share this shirt.
It was originally Matt's, but Dan claimed it as hers, and now he just sorts it into her clothes pile when it's his turn.
Wymack. I think Kevin would rather die than get this, so Dan (his adoptive sister), Alison (nosy bitch #1), and Neil (nosy bitch #2) tag team and sign his name for him. He goes on to have a mental breakdown, but he and Wymack get closer. Somehow it's revealed that Nicky wins the bet regarding what's going on between Wymack, Abby, and Bee.
Andrew bought this for Kevin.
Alison and Renee have matching shirts exactly like this. In response, Neil and Andrew have matching shirts that say "I like it bushy" with a cat in a bush. It's the first time the upperclassmen see Andrew smile like that without involving Neil.
This is what inspired this, actually. So, Neil. He'd wear this out and in press conferences just to piss Kevin off. Gives Andrew a heart attack every time he sees it, though he'll never admit it. No one's really sure how or where it came from, there's actually a betting pool regarding this. Alison has money on Andrew buying it. Nicky thinks it was Kevin. Renee even joined in by offering Neil.
(in reality, it was Abby. She thinks shit like this is funny. She's a fox, after all)

AITA for being complicit in my friend's situationship? (NSFW, and sorry, it's long, but at least it's dramatic.)
I had a friend (I will refer to as Kate), who I no longer speak to for reasons unrelated to this scenario. We dated on and off for a couple years and broke up permanently about a year before these events, but remained as roommates. Everyone in the story was in their 20s.
Kate went to a trade school and met a man (I will refer to as Andrew) who flirted with her despite mentioning before that he had a girlfriend. Kate was attracted to Andrew but told him that she wouldn't get involved with him unless he broke up with his girlfriend. He then told her that his girlfriend was distant to the point that they hadn't slept together in years, they basically were just friends that lived together, but she wouldn't let him officially break up with her, and he couldn't afford to move out on his own.
Kate told me about this, sometimes asking what I thought, and though I had some doubts about whether that information was true, I didn't give any real advice in any direction. Obviously I was in a weird situation, but didn't want to discourage her, or she might have thought I was jealous. She wasn't happy when I went on a date during this time. She also accused me of emotionally cheating while we were dating, so I was not about to tell her how to define cheating. That's a whole other story, but I say "accused" bc it basically boiled down to me still being friends with someone I previously had feelings for, and Kate believed I was more attracted to the old friend than her. That remained a sore spot for the whole time we knew each other, although I cut off the old friend a year after Kate and I started dating.
A few months went by, and they spent more time together at the school, and her car, hooking up at both. They never went to his place. He also asked her not to initiate text conversations, in case his girlfriend saw his phone. He came over to our place twice, and both times she texted me out of the room so they could be alone. Kate acted very happy talking about him, occasionally guilty or suspicious, but said she thought she loved him. Her moods fluctuated a lot, as she experiences manic and depressive episodes, and I was trying to comfort her through the bad times.
When they were about to graduate, Kate told Andrew that since they wouldn't see one another at school together anymore, she would stop talking until he broke up with his girlfriend. Then Kate saw his girlfriend show up at their school acting, well, like his girlfriend. So she became suspicious. Andrew also started flirting with another woman at their school, who flirtaciously messaged Kate. Kate thought Andrew was trying to set up a threeway, even after breaking off their situation. This ended with a lot of angry texts to Andrew from Kate, demanding that he tell his girlfriend everything. Andrew claimed he did, and then the conversation ended.
Many months later, Kate doubted Andrew told his girlfriend, so Kate asked me to make a burner account to message her, and I did. She didn't seem to be aware of any of it. At this point, Kate felt that Andrew had exploited her, but as far as I know, all of their interactions were consensual. I think she was trying to deal with her own guilt by leaving all the blame on him, but I never dared to tell her she'd done any wrong here. I also felt complicit in that I probably should have guessed that she was manic during this and given better advice.
I know this was a lot of info, but it could have been a lot longer. I'm just wondering now, a long time later, was ITA for not telling my friend flat out to stop the situation, or that she was doing something wrong?

Wow!! It's here!! Woo hoo.
ABILITY SWAP EW AU
Their personalities are the same. The plots, still the same. Their abilities are the only thing that changed lol.
Head cannons for Ellsworld as well X3
Thomas Andrews: Swapped with Edd
How he became super: Same way Edd did. Instead of Edd going on the roof it was Tom. He lost at nose goes.
He was born a girl. Started going by he/him pronouns in middle school.
Tom's name used to be: Tamara
Matthew Harris: Swapped with Tord
They were born a girl as well. They got top surgery in highschool. <3
Matt's name used to be: Matilda
Tord Andreasson: Swapped with Matt
Born a man
How she became a vampire: Tord was out getting groceries when it happened. A bat flew up to her and bit her on the neck. She punched the bat, and continued to their house.
Next morning she woke up a vampire.
She likes Edd and Matt's blood. Matt's taste very sweet, like ice cream. Edd's tastes sweet and savory. He likes Edd's more than Matt's and Tom's.
Tom's blood tastes radioactive, and like battery acid. She doesn't really drink his unless Matt or Edd aren't in there.
Edward Evans: Swapped with Tom
How he became monster: He was just born this way. He got it from his dad's side. His parents got divorced after Edd was born.
Edd's name used to be: Ellie
Extra:
In this AU Tord never left. Well, she did, but only for a year. She was called to war in her home country. That's where she met Pat and Pau. She got shot in the leg, making it difficult to continue the fight. She was able to go back home to England with her friends.
They would text, write, and call their friend every night. The others would tell her all the adventures they went on, ect, ect.
Monster and other info:
Edd hasn't let Matt know that he isn't entirely human yet.
So Edd, Tom, and Tord, don't really trust Matt enough to tell them about what Edd is. Only Tom and Tord know what Edd is.
Tom and Tord have been Edd's childhood friends. They met Matt in middle school, in 3rd year. They all sorta like each other but at the moment it's just TomMatt, and TordEdd.
Tord and Edd started liking each other in 5th grade. They started dating at the beginning of middle school.
Tord loves her scary dog privileges >:3
More monster info:
Tord and Tom found out about Edd when they were very little. Edd couldn't really control it too well back then.. givin that he was a child lol.
At first Tom and Tord were scared, along with Edd. He was afraid they'd hate him for what he was, but after a moment they started asking him questions about how this happened, was he super strong, etc, etc.
They were scared because they thought Edd would hurt them, but saw the fear in his eyes and realized they were both safe, and just honestly wanted to know what he was.
Tord and Tom would make sure Edd was always safe and never bullied. They'd protect him from any dangers.
He only really half turns. He tries his best to never transform completely. He only fully transformed once when he was younger due to a family death, with someone he was very close to.
He was upset and mad. They made sure to keep him calm. They wrapped him in blankets, gave him snacks, and stayed with him till he calmed down and felt better. They ended up sleeping with him that night, which helped him. He didn't talk for a while after that.
He mostly stayed in his room for about a week, not talking to anyone. Just nods and shakes of the head. They'd check in on him, seeing him half transformed in the room in his bed. They'd just sit with him and try and lift his spirits. It eventually worked and he was back to his normal happy self.
They continued to be be kids after that. Just living their lives. They'd go were no one else would go whenever they'd play. They would ask Edd if he'd transform sometimes. They both thought it was super cool, especially sense he'd get bigger.
Tord would sit in his lap whenever he'd transform. Edd was big enough for Tord to sit in or lay in his lap. *This is when Tord began to have feelings towards Edd*
Anyways yeah. Here's a sketch of them playing hide and seek when they were little. :3
THEY WILL BE POLLY!! It will be done... Bro.. why does he look like a goat 🤣😭💚

“I feel sorry for King Charles, rest of BRF and rest of United Kingdom. They welcomed them with open arms, did more than they should to accomody them and this is level of gratitude shown?! Unbelievable.” - Submitted by Anonymous
“I'm not a fan of King Charles, but do people seriously think he's racist? The man who walked his biracial daughter in law down the aisle with no objection when her entire family snubbed her? As far as I know he doesn't have a problem with his grandchildren being 1/4 black either.” - Submitted by Anonymous
“A friend of Meghan reportedly said that she (Meghan) viewed Charles as a "second father". Actually feel sorry for the man (especially since he gave her away), not knowing he would receive the Thomas Markle treatment.” - Submitted by Anonymous
“If the RF really bullied Meghan off/were racists towards Meghan, then why was Harry allowed to marry her? It's that simple. The RF had the biggest chance to bully her off in H&M's dating stages, and had she not married in then yeah, I would actually believe the RF was indeed racist, but the opposite happened. They were the ones who bullied themselves off LOL, especially once they found out they would never be given the same kind of importance as W&C (They would still be/could've been FAR more important dynastically-wise than Andrew, Edward/Sophie, and Anne/Tim and their families + Margaret's descendants + Elizabeth and Margaret's cousins and their families which is why I don't buy their victimhood) and also because they realized they couldn't just demand stuff they wanted on their terms (like A&L's titles for example. Ultimately, those were given to them due to the letters patent issued by King George V in 1917 that H&M refused to respect.) You want me to feel sorry for crybabies who also happen to be millionaires? Check your privilege and f*ck off. I know people support H&M because they want the drama/want a genuine reason to hate the BRF/genuinely want there to be another victim like Diana was (why TF would you want that LMAO go check yourselves). But it's just that. Just a middle-aged woman and a near-middle-aged man acting like 5- year-olds just because they thought they could get away with sh*t but had a rude awakening.” - Submitted by Anonymous
“I think royal family was very supportive and welcoming towards Meghan. They let her attended official royal event as a fiancee while Kate and other married-ins had to wait. They were also very supportive of their career as a actress and let her do films after marriage while meghan herself didn't want to. They even let her wear a white dress and tiara even tho she was previously married, HER FIL WALKED HER DOWN THE AISLE, how sweet is that. Her in-laws paid for the whole thing and even the dress” - Submitted by Anonymous

hello. in usual ash fashion i want to write but i don't want it to be any of my current works. so i'm taking a crack at @partiallypearl 's ipod shuffle challenge! though im cheating by using spotify, i'm just going to put on my liked songs playlist and see what comes up :) continue reading if interested <3
hayloft - mother mother
pairing: rames
james knew sneaking into roxy's bedroom was a bad idea. her father had been clear about that from the moment they'd started dating.
but he didn't care. it's not like declan would actually do anything to him, considering how that would affect the daughter he'd give the entire world to.
james would give her the world too - declan just couldn't tell that from the incriminating position he'd found the two teenage lovers in under her bright red duvet.
good thing james had left the window open, considering he'd scrambled out of it as quickly as he could.
roxy was screaming, so was declan, as the man crammed himself through the doorframe and began to take off after james. he chased him all the way down the block and into the forested trail, yelling some of the scariest threats the teenager had ever heard.
-
i never told you what i do for a living - my chemical romance
pairing: rames (rockstar roxy au)
"what brings you around here?" he asked, gazing out at the palm woods pool as he finally managed to catch the girl's attention. "i thought you already had a place with your dad."
"i do," she said, buffing her nails on her shirt. "he's hard to live with, rockstar lifestyle and all. figured it was time i flew the coop and got a place of my own."
"and you can... afford that? aren't you my age?"
"you know how well performing pays the bills."
that caught james' attention. "what...?"
"oh, come on," roxy laughed, a hand reaching out to brush his arm. it reminded him of their little encounter of the rocque records conference room. "i never told you what i do for a living?"
the boy shook his head, confused.
"i'm a performer, just like you," the girl shared. "time to forge a rockstar lifestyle befitting me, not him."
-
older - five seconds of summer
pairing: kaisy-ish. if you squint. more like mae walker x jasper walker lol
daisy didn't think there was anything better than watching her grandparents together. they had a bond that endured all; happiness and heartbreak and everything in between.
the two of them had been through so much together, it was almost hard for her to fathom.
the two of them sat in the study, next to each other on the worn out couch they'd had in there forever and ever. her grandpa had a world war 2 book cracked open for the two of them to read. while he was focused on the pages, his hand cradled hers.
he knew that she was starting to fall asleep on his shoulder, but kept as normal anyway.
daisy wanted something like that. something real. natural. as easy as breathing.
she didn't want to get older without a love like that, she decided, pouring over the sketchbook in her lap. just as she decided what to begin to draw - the scene in front of her - the chime on her laptop went off to alert her of a new message.
-
driving through a dream - andrew mcmahon in the wilderness
pairing: rames
one of these days, roxy was going to force james to get his driver's license. it always stressed her out so bad when he drove without one, but tonight they'd had no choice as they headed back into la from santa monica.
the songwriter was literally falling asleep on her feet after their jam packed day of fun, hardly able to keep her eyes open long enough to focus on anything in particular.
the radio was on, a tape of her favorite songs blasting through the stereo of the old pontiac gto, and the music mixed with the sound of the rustling wind as she laid her head on james' shoulder as they soared down the highway.
he always looked so cool, even with the wind whipping his hair wildly. he knew it too; she didn't need to peek at him to know the smirk growing across his face as she cuddled closer into him as the fall air chilled her skin.
"try to get some sleep," he told her, barely audible over all the other highway noises. "i'll wake you at home."
-
miss you - louis tomlinson
pairing: olive & roxy (college au)
"everything is great," olive assured her best friend, cradling the half-drank mug of beer in her palms. "everything is fucking great."
roxy knew this was the furthest thing from the truth, however. olive always got like this when her on-off relationship with the boy from her psych 101 class was going downhill.
"it will be," the other girl promised. "after one more pint... or five..."
olive snorted, looking out at the others hanging out around the sleazy bar 20 minutes away from their dorm. without saying anything, she got up and ordered four shots from the bartender.
not too long later, she and roxy were the only ones on the makeshift dance floor, singing along to the justin bieber tune roxy had begged the dj to play for them.
-
INFATUATION - i don't know how but they found me
pairing: kaisy
if kendall didn't have his phone on him, it made him anxious.
what if daisy-mae sent him a message and he wasn't able to reply to it?
would she think he had better things to do than talk to her?
he didn't think he ever would for the rest of his life.
besides, she said she didn't have a good way of reliably communicating with him until the laptop she'd ordered arrived. the laptop she'd bought just to talk to him.
how crazy was that? was it crazy to be crazy about her crazy decisions?
talking to her was his only repeive from the mess of his current state. no need to worry about hockey, or his knee, or anything else.
his friends said it was infatuation... katie had called it obsession... and kendall had no idea which term he preferred.
-
lost my cool - stand atlantic
pairing: roxy & mag
waiting was all roxy did. for the right time to share the song. for mag to indicate he liked her as much as she liked him. for any sign brand new day had a gig. for an excuse to hang out around the boy she might have been falling in love with.
what a fat lot of good that did her, considering she was running down the halls of her high school, face in her hands trying to hide the tears streaming down her face.
normally, she prided herself in being able to control her emotions well, but after mag had laughed in her face at the thought of them being together... anyone in her position would do the same.
she'd always thought it was so cliche when that happened in the movies or tv shows she watched, but now, living it in her own reality, she felt far more sympathetic to the plight of protagonists like kat stratford. maybe she should take a page out of her book and tell mag to eat shit, but the thought of ever seeing him again made her begin to cry even harder.
-
yellow - coldplay
pairing: kaisy
kendall wished being able to play the guitar turned him into songwriter he wanted to be. it wasn't enough that daisy liked the music he played, he wanted her to like the music he made.
he'd tried everything, scratching out all his thoughts onto the pages of his school notebook before tearing them out and crumpling them into a ball to trash in the corner of his room.
just as he went to write again, the chime on his computer went off. daisy was online.
look at the stars she sent aren't they exceptionally beautiful tonight?
he didn't think twice before he opened the blinds to his room, looking up at the same night sky as her, despite being thousands of miles apart. the streetlights outside his house doused his vision in a pale yellow.
and the lyric he managed to come up with then was just as stupid as the rest of them, but he wrote it out any way.
look at the stars. look how they shine for you.
the corner of his mouth perked up. that was a pretty good start, even if he could never put into words how much daisy meant to him.
-
one less lonely girl by justin bieber
pairing: roxy & logan (wag au), lolive if you squint
"you're not understanding me, hockey head!" roxy practically yelled at logan, taking his shoulders in his hands and shaking violently. "it's non-negotiable. you're singing this to her at the reception or else."
"we're not even engaged!" logan cried right back. not that he hadn't thought about it before...
"i don't care!" his friend continued to shake him. "there's no way i'm giving her to you unless you tell me right now - swear to me - you're going to do it!"
"she's not yours to give away," logan pointed out, starting to get a headache.
"do i need to get wren on the phone? because she'll be on my side!"
that threat did hold quite a lot of weight; when it came to olive's best interests, roxy and wren did tend to see eye to eye.
"...fine," the hocky player conceded, cheeks growing a firey red. "and not just because you're threatening me..."
-
when you need a man - the driver era
pairing: pre-relationship rames, dak x roxy
it was infuriating to see dak anywhere in the vicinity of roxy. james didn't understand how she couldn't see how miserable he'd made her over the last few weeks. standing her up at the party, getting all up in her shit for hanging out with other guys, a whole list of things he could think of off the top of his head.
but it didn't matter, at least not to him, because he'd be there for her regardless. that was what a good friend did, even if he desperately wanted to be more.
when she needed a man, she'd call on him, and he'd be ready to swoop in and take care of her. show her what a real relationship looked like. turn her entire world upside down.

hi! if you made it this far, you deserve a medal. these are so embarrassing. now you know why it takes me so long to get my chapters out LOLLL. writing with brevity is literally my worst nightmare!!!!!! but anyway i hope you enjoyed <3 ty for reading ily

REVIEWS OF THE WEEK!
Every week I will post various reviews I've written so far in 2024. You can check out my Goodreads for more up-to-date reviews HERE.
Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts?
___
258. Collide by Bal Khabra--⭐️⭐️
"She was literal sunshine." A sentence that made me guffaw because no, she was very much not literal sunshine. Summer was a bitch and the way everyone bent to her will and still lusted after her made me wonder if I should be reading books like WHY MEN LOVE BITCHES.
This was disappointing, to say the least. That cover is everything and I love the rep on said cover. Even though it was like reading ICEBREAKER again (a book that I actually love and have read twice), this was not at all what I was expecting. Why is it such a trend for these mean FMC to just belittle and completely undermine others' emotions for the sake of their "stubborn" personalities? Ugh.
I was going to add more to this pre-review notes I had made for this when I first finished this book, but I don't even want to LOL. This book made me so mad. Sigh.
___
259. Wed to the Barbarian by Keira Andrews--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Did I pull an all-nighter with this book? Yes.
I have decided, Keira Andrews is a favourite author. Her covers may be...not the best, but man, can she tell me a compelling story. WED TO THE BARBARIAN follows two characters who couldn't be any more different from each other. But something about the way the viewed each other and under-estimated each other made my heart melt for them and made me so excited for the moment their connection clicked into place.
Andrews, in her true writing style, has created a story full of heart with a strong message of never judging a book by its cover. Everyone knows what happens when you assume and these two characters (especially the bigger of the two) really fall into that trap of thinking they know what the other is like and how their internal and external strengths can be measured.
I loved watching them slowly fall for each other and enjoyed seeing their bond strengthen over time, until we reach that cliffhanger full of despair.
There was so much on offer in this book and I never thought I'd be devouring a historical fantasy romance (?) so voraciously. I couldn't put this down once I fell into that perfect moment in the book that demanded it be read.
I loved the family dynamics and how dedicated both characters were to them, even if sometimes they were a little misguided. But I also liked how logical Andrews's writing was when it came to certain situations, climaxes, and communication.
Also, not going to lie, those last few chapters were intense. I wish we had more books like this duology from Andrews. I'm excited for all of the books I've yet to read by her.
___
260. The Barbarian's Vow by Keira Andrews--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Devoured because book one left me on a cliffhanger and these two deserve their happy ending!
I can't say too much because it will spoil the hell out of this book. Just know that the angst, the yearning, and the dedication one character has for the other was palpable.
Also, loved, loved how certain things weren't dramatized for the sake of adding drama to the story. So many times authors add unnecessary miscommunications and other jealousy-inducing plot lines to make the story longer, but our queen, Keira Andrews doesn't do this.
And finally, please, I LOVED the adventure-style of this book. It was like one of those "how much can we physically challenge your relationship?" games that a couple might play to truly see how much they care about each other. The juxtaposition of the events in this one and the ones in the first book was *chef's kiss*.
Need more stories like this one!
___
261. The Wrong Bride by Catharina Maura--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Listen, this was like those funny and horribly acted romance stories we see in ads, BUT it was addicting and I couldn't stop reading it. Brought back memories of the over-the-top romances from the early 2010s, but like in the best and cheesiest way possible.
If you're going to sit down to read this one, make sure you have some popcorn on hand. I was so thoroughly entertained while reading this. It made me think of afternoons spent with my mom when I was a kid, having to be quiet because her telenovela was on. The over-the-top situations, the circumstances, and the denial of feelings that the characters showcased throughout the book made for some real entertainment.
And then we had the "villain". Man, she was like the perfect gaslighting telenovela villain. When she was in the middle of her assholery in trying to win back the MMC, this was me:
I'm also a bit of a sucker for an arranged marriage between two reluctant people. I love watching them fall in love and essentially prove everyone else wrong. Plus, for the love of all that is romantically glorious, this FMC needed a freaking win. She was so self-less, to the point of self-destruction, that I really wanted her to show up her horrible sister and mother. The father was the only one who was worth anything in her family.
Anyway, I have book two now and I shall read it soon. I hope it's as dramatic LOL.
___
262. All That's Left in the World by Erik J. Brown--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Re-read July 2024
So, funny story: I actually craved a re-read of this one AFTER reading the sequel (which was incredible as well) and I'm so happy I gave into the craving. I had halfway forgotten how much I enjoyed this book the first time around. I DEFINITELY see myself re-reading this one again in the future.
ALL THAT'S LEFT IN THE WORLD is one of those books that is so honest in its grief and journey to finding yourself that it will leave you feeling just a bit raw by the end. The side characters are great and the way these two characters grow and show the darker aspects of what it means to survive was so well done.
Will forever be one of my favourite Post-Apocalyptic YA reads!
Also, their love is just so sweet and pure, even if it slowly builds as the story progresses.
___
263. Faker by Gordon Korman--⭐️⭐️⭐️
The MC's younger sister is something else.
I jumped into FAKER with no idea what I was getting myself into (like I usually do) and in some (positive) ways, this was a good choice because I know that if I had read the synopsis for this, I would have felt more hesitant to pick it up. I've read a few of Korman's newer books and while I've enjoyed them for the most part, there are definitely some I've liked more than others.
I think with FAKER, it was definitely one of those stories that straddled the line for me. On one hand, I enjoyed reading about this kid who grew to understand the morality question of what his father was doing, and finding his own identity where before he was just a shadow idolizing a criminal father. But on the other hand, it was all just...a bit too on the nose? Like, what are the chances that this one new town has a teacher who teaches students about morals and the question of what is wrong and what is right? AND to have the MC have such a sudden shift? Was he not taught these lessons earlier in private schools?
In Korman's defence, we DO see the cracks starting to form near the beginning, but it definitely does start to make me think about how quickly kids change, especially because they're such impressionable little sponges (the MC's kid sister being the biggest example. She was downright terrifying.)
FAKER felt both incredibly younger than the age group it's geared towards, and older than the age group because of just how much of a criminal the dad is. I know this book might be one of those cautionary tales of trust, perspective, and the bonds of family, but the dad's crime and how he went about them were a little too genius LOL.
Anyway, I'm sure kids will gobble this up. And I really enjoyed that side-plot about saving the earth, even if the one character could have used a slight dose of empathy herself.
___
264. The Threat by K.A. Applegate--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excuse me, that cliffhanger?
This instalment in the series was WILD and dark. So dark. I actually really enjoyed this one because we get to see the other side of what could have happened to the Animorphs if they had had a different start to their story, or if they didn't have the same morals that they live by.
I've already read the next book, so the cliffhanger pain has been dealt with, but I must say it was so well-done. This whole plot line of David is so refreshing for this series and exactly what it needed. It further brings the characters togethers and challenges them in way they never thought they would encounter.
Great, great instalment.
___
265. Summer Romance by Annabel Monaghan--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Surprised by how much I enjoyed this one!
I'm not going to lie, I totally put a hold for this audiobook at the library by accident. I had initially never intended to read this book and...I think that would have been such a mistake.
I love stories like this one where the love interest is someone the MC would have NEVER thought would be her HEA. The love interest is underestimated and misjudged by literally everyone in his life. Even though I knew immediately who he was from the moment we meet him, I couldn't help but still love the reaction and the communication that happened after the truth was revealed. I also LOVED how she helps prove his family wrong in their perception of him. But it's still bittersweet to watch the adoration that a family has for their son, even if that adoration is a little misguided.
The MC finding herself again after FINALLY starting the divorce from her absent husband (there in body, missing in spirit and fucks to give) was so empowering. I think other single moms in similar situations would benefit from reading this one. Not so much because of the romance, but because some people love to underestimate women, especially moms, and what they will do when they finally find their voices again. I loved the scenes where she was a total badass towards her ex, but also her moments of vulnerability because being human is experiencing the duality of strength, but also weakness.
The grief in this book was like an extra character riding in the passenger seat of the MC's car, that's how powerful it was. But in that grief, the MC finds the truths she ran from about how her life changed and the things that happened that led her there. It's proof that even in death, our mistakes can't be erased but CAN be learned from.
SUMMER ROMANCE is definitely one of those books that some could read as just a heartfelt small town romance novel, but I know this will hit some readers way harder than others. Monaghan's novel has heart and I felt it in every page of the book.
Now, excuse me while I put the rest of her books on hold at my libraries.
___
266. Red Rabbit by Alex Grecian--⭐️⭐️⭐️
RED RABBIT was something else. I'll admit that it took me a WHILE to get into this one. I almost DNF'ed it a few times, and extended my library loan of the audiobook a few times before finally giving in. It had its fun moments, but it also had a lot of confusing moments.
There were SO MANY CHARACTERS. And the timelines are weaved together to make a very confusing spider-web. I think I know why it was done and in retrospect, it makes sense, but while I was reading, I had a lot of "OHHH OKAY" moments when something clicked or finally made sense.
At certain points I thought I knew where the story was going, but then something would happen and it would throw me off all over again.
I don't know how scary RED RABBIT was supposed to be. Sure, there were some gross moments and others that had that taste of fear in each word, but scary scary?
One thing I didn't expect and was pleasantly surprised was the audiobook having the voice actor actually sing some of the songs featured in the book. They were beautifully sung and so incredibly unexpected--totally pulled me into the story even more and made me excited to see what would come next in the story.
I did want to shed a tear near the end and when everything was being resolved, including the reveal of some of the secrets that haunted the book. So, while the beginning took me a while, I was hooked by the end.
I think this would be great for a reader who loves a little western adventure in their stories, with a side of ghosts, witches, and ghouls.

PENNY, 24, GMT; SHE/HER. | if you’re hearing VIENNA by BILLY JOEL playing, you have to know GABRIEL MOORE (HE/HIM; CIS MAN) is near by! the THIRTY-FOUR year old HISTORY PROFESSOR has been in denver for, like, THREE YEARS. they’re known to be quite OBSTINATE, but being ALLOCENTRIC seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble JACOB ANDERSON. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those WANDERING EMPTY MUSEUMS, THE GLOW FROM A LAPTOP SCREEN and ROLLED-UP SHIRT SLEEVES AND V-NECK JUMPERS vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the DOWNTOWN DISTRICT long enough!
full name: gabriel isaac moore. nicknames: gabe, abe. gender and pronouns: cis man, he/him. age: thirty-four. sexuality: bisexual. date of birth: july 15th. zodiac sign: cancer ( loyal, creative, sensitive, insecure. ) place of birth: bristol, england. occupation: assistant professor of history, university of denver.
born and raised in bristol, the youngest of three with two older sisters. as a diplomatic service officer their father was away more often than not, so gabe was raised by his mother and sisters.
his interest in writing, reading and history was a curveball. aside from his father, the rest of the family's interests were firmly rooted in stem. they were ( perhaps justifiably ) worried that gabriel's interests would not give him much success in life. but he was determined to pursue his passion and after graduating top of his class at bristol uni for undergrad, went on to get his master's and phd in history at st andrew's.
moved to london after graduation wondering what to do with himself and fell into teaching. completed his teaching qual and sought out a role teaching history whilst continuing to research and publish occasionally on the side to keep up with developments in the academic world.
( tw: car accident, injury, depression & ptsd ) was cycling to work as per usual one day when he was hit by a drunk driver at a crossing. he woke up just short of a week later to a shock. gabe had been lucky, really. at least, that's what everyone said -- at the time he couldn't only think that was a cruel thing to say. his right leg had been amputated, originally below the knee but complications did not go his way and so shortly after he became an above knee amputee. otherwise, he was pretty much unscathed - scars here and there the only thing to show of his ordeal now.
slightly reeling and with nothing to really do during his recovery, gabriel turned back to the work he loved. this was something of a relief to friends and family as, not unexpectedly, gabe was diagnosed with ptsd and depression immediately following the accident and suffered during much of his recovery. by no means have either of those things become a non-issue in his life, but they have dissipated and significantly and well, when all else fails… there’s always throwing yourself into work or looking after someone else. he wrote a monograph, a social history of black africans in renaissance england that was eventually published just under five years ago now.
riding on the back of the book's success, a desire to return to academia and for a change of scenery he began applying for jobs. the offer from the university of denver came through and he took it and uprooted to denver. this was where his family’s relief was dampened; they thought it was a rash decision ( they weren’t wrong, but gabe was never one to change his mind once it was set and they knew it )
gabe has been in denver for three years now, comfortable in his position at the university but also keen to engage with as many people as possible. he runs a sort of 'history 101' evening class at the community college for anyone to attend.
wanted connections page ! gimme literally everything pls.

OMG I ALMOST FORGOT IT WAS RARE PAIR WEEK
So, again, as a surprise to no-one, I've settled for Frandrew. BUT I'm going to (probably, though I MIGHT do a quick doodle instead for the free day lol) write all the prompts. Bc I've been doing exams and it was just kinda easier lol.
So without further ado...
Day 1: Kisses!
"Andrew, I need your help."
Andrew lowered his book just enough to reveal the bored look in those otherwise sharp green eyes. He quirked up an eyebrow. This ought to be good. Any and all of Frank's requests were often ridiculous ideas he spontaneously came up with that he required Andrew to help him carry, against the brunette's better judgement. Andrew wasn't sure why he went along with anything Frank said anymore, but he still didn't turn him down now.
"Go on."
Frank inhaled a breath, almost wincing now. Andrew lowered the book completely. It was odd how unsteady the usually overly confident and bold blonde was. Maybe this wasn't going to be too ridiculous after all...
"You know how I've been dating Sam for a while now?" Frank started.
Andrew just barely managed to mask a look of disdain as he nodded. Samantha Greenwood was Frank's most recent conquest in finding his one true love. Andrew had been used to this system for years now. Frank would talk up a girl, they'd date for two weeks and then Andrew would get a call (always at some ungodly hour for whatever reason) from a teary Frank that they'd broken up. The mourning would last for a week and then Frank would be right as rain and more than ready to start up the whole cycle again.
But, this time, his and Samatha's relationship had been... going well. They'd been together for a month now, which, in terms of Frank's relationships, was nothing to scoff at. And, as much as Andrew kicked himself for it, he wasn't as happy as he thought he'd be. Even for someone he considered his best friend.
He wanted to be happy for Frank, he really did. But he also knew, having realised it for the past for years now, that he so badly wished he could take Samantha's place (and the girl before her, and the girl before her...).
"Well, I kinda read her texts- NOT on purpose," Frank continued. "They were just open and I was feeling curious-"
"You mean nosy?"
"Whatever, man. Anyways, she's really holding onto having her first kiss with me next date."
"Okay?"
"Which would be my first kiss too."
"Okay...?"
"But I've never kissed a girl before."
"Oka- Wait, what are you getting at here?"
Frank inhaled a breath, shoving his hands in his pockets awkwardly. Unsteadily, he presented his request to Andrew. "Well... you've basically been getting action since you came out the womb, right? So, you must have... kissed... a girl?"
Andrew shot Frank the classic "you can't be fucking serious" face. Frank immediately backed down, with a sheepish expression.
"Heh, no, you're right. You probably wouldn't have-"
"I have. And what?"
Andrew hadn't. Well, obviously. Other than something vaguely resembling flirting she had enacted with some of the girls that were far enamoured by him (often in front of his father, to keep up his oh so definitely straight image), he hadn't been that romantic with anyone. He had no real experience that could help Frank.
But the idea of Frank needing his help with something so intimate... It felt a little bit creepy of him, Andrew couldn't lie to himself, but he also just couldn't stop himself.
Frank started bouncing, like an excited puppy. It was strangely adorable, Andrew thought. "R-Really?! Could you give me like... like, a crash course, or something?" Then he forced himself to yield a little. "I-If that's not too, like, weird or anything..."
Andrew smirked, just a little, though he knew he really shouldn't. "No, not weird at all," he fibbed. "Though... we might not be better off doing it quite so immediately."
Frank nodded, completely understanding. "Do you want me to, uh, call my mom? See if I can swing by yours after school?"
Andrew nodded. Neither one bothered to mention asking Andrew's father. It'd be a no, for one reason or another, if they asked. Usually, however, Frank just kind of showed up at Andrew's house and Paul just politely let him stay. The older man always tried to play it off as him being simply gentlemanly, but both boys knew that Frank's stern, no-nonsense business woman mom intimidated Paul more than he'd like to admit.
Andrew ignored the tender, beginnings of a flame beginning to lick at his belly as he nodded in agreement. "Yeah... See you there."
***
"Okay, so..."
"So."
Frank stared at Andrew. Andrew stared back. It was so strange. They had been friends since their very first year at Appleton and, here they were. Staring at each other like strangers locked in an escape room. Andrew might have laughed if he wasn't trying to subdue the stabbings of nerves in his belly.
"So, who did you kiss, anyways?" Frank asked, with a new smirk on his face and a raised eyebrow.
Andrew jolted. Shit. That seemed like such an obvious possible question he probably should have prepared for. He stuttered embarrassingly for a few seconds.
"She was... just a date my father set up for me last year," Andrew shrugged, not entirely a lie. There had been a date, but it had been short and miserable and the furthest thing from romantic. In fact, if Andrew remembered correctly, the girl had ended up in a huff because of it.
Frank shrugged. "Makes sense. Still, not exactly a true love's kiss or anything, huh?"
Andrew grit his teeth, hoping his jaw didn't show as being too tight. Love. Frank was in love with Samantha, of course. The same way Andrew loved Frank, even if he really shouldn't.
"Well, you asked me for help, so are you taking it or not?" The question was really just intended as being another sarcastic quip of his, but had a little more bite to it than initially intended. Though fortunately, as per usual, Frank was too good to either notice it or directly call him out on it.
"You're right, you're right," he merely shrugged, a little too easily for their current situation. Though, if Andrew knew the man well enough (and he did) it may as well have been a front. "So... you gonna give me some pointers?"
"Well, that is what I had initially considered..." Andrew started. It wasn't, not even for a moment, but Frank didn't need to know that. "But... kissing is a little too tactile for simple words, I figured."
Frank began to pink up, already seeing where Andrew was going with this. "Oh! Uhh..."
Andrew sighed, feeling like smacking himself in the face. "Yeah, no, I know. You don't have to, I just thought that it maybe... No! Just forget it–"
"I'll do it."
Andrew's head whipped up to stare at the blonde in bewilderment. "What?"
"Sure, I'll kiss you. Just for practice... right?"
"Right."
Andrew shifted, in his space where they were both sat on his bed. He inhaled a deep breath, trying to figure out how to make something up that would make it sound like he truly knew what he was doing. "So, you just... close your eyes, lean in slowly – bending your head a little to one side, so your noses don't bump – and gently press your lips against hers. Softly. Tenderly."
Andrew was going more off his guilty pleasure romance novel descriptions than anything real. But that hardly mattered when he fluttered his own eyes closed and, within seconds, Frank's lips were on his. Andrew felt the gentle scrapings of stubble against his fair skin. Pressed back into the kiss ever so slightly (just giving Frank a more realistic demonstration, he told himself). Resisted the urge to grab onto him, as though he were a lifeline. God, he tasted so sweet. Like one of those cookies he had in his lunch...
They parted after a few short moments, but they were the best moments of Andrew's life. They both looked at each other, a little shell-shocked. They had really just done that.
Frank quickly averted the brunette's gaze. "I, uh... Was that... right?" he asked awkwardly. He sounded endearingly like he did when Andrew had to tutor him in maths, if a lot more anxious about it.
Of course. Your lips feel so good. You're so handsome. I love you. Date me instead. Marry me, even–
"Not bad," Andrew nodded, with a smirk. "Could be improved though. Why don't you try again?"

WIP thingy - I was gonna ask about Dude Who's a Spy and then I read on and I NEED to know about "dude who's a spy WITH POKEMON" because lolol. Please indulge me, i beg of you.
Okay I'm awake now! <3
I think(?) this was shortly after I got my first diagnosis + its accompanying medication, because I have the distinct memory of sitting down on the couch, writing, and then nothing else until it was dark and I had 6,000 words on an untitled document. And by "realizing" I mean my mother walked through the door and went "why are all the lights off-- did you not move while I was gone?"
No. No I did not. And then I did the exact same thing the next day, finishing my first short story about a guy who realizes he's compromised in enemy territory only after abandoning his wife and kid and the life he actually wanted.
And then. After finishing this sad story, which genuinely only ended on a sad note because I the author also couldn't see a way out of it, my brain was like what if....it wasn't so sad and it was also more fun.
Well, how could I do that?
...Add pokémon?
So I started rewriting the entire story with pokémon added to the plot, which, c'mon, everyone having their own emotional support animal added to a plot really lowers the sadness density! So dude who's a spy is complete but dude who's a spy WITH POKEMON is a WIP, but reliant on the first work.
Some snippets:
*(spy)
Andrew Lawrence Lee was an illustrator, husband, and father of one. He spent the majority of his days working on well-enough paid projects with the publishing house he had been hired for, working on oils and watercolors that would wind up on the pages of glossy-print children’s books— books his daughter read every night before bed and took with her to kindergarten to explain what her father did for work. His wife was employed by homeland security and could often be home late, but she was just as happy to finish her day in work shoes and on the edge of Cammie’s bed, flipping through glossy pages as Andrew pointed out the details of his work. Kanon Lee was witty and clever, and if their daughter was half as wise as her mother was, Andrew would be blessed beyond measure.
So, of course, he thought to himself, brushes dipping into pristine cups of tap-poured water, it would be nice if Andrew existed. Still, he liked being Andrew, and anyone paid fat stacks in overseas bank accounts had very few reasons to complain, and, furthermore, Andrew’s wife was an absolute delight. He wanted for nothing. If he had been left to his own devices, he probably would have done his best to pursue her romantically. The fact that he had been paid and encouraged to marry this particular member of national security was just a bonus. Literally. The amount of money he was wired after the wedding would buy a small island.
And a man named Andrew Lawrence Lee spent his time painting—a genuine hobby he had never been able to enjoy as frequently in his home country— spending time with his daughter, who he adored completely, and spent time with his wife, who really did work too hard. Spending time with her was more than just work-oriented. Sure, teasing her for covert tips and hints as to the state of national security was his true intention even when he wrapped her in his arms and pulled her shirt-to-shirt close, but date nights were cute, and when she blushed he felt like he had everything a sleeper agent could want in his whole life.
She had recently switched from mint chapstick to cherry. It was an excuse to kiss her more.
*(With Pokémon)
And it’s Kanon in a college tee and khaki shorts who unloads the boxes from the moving truck, and it’s he who’s coated from head-to-toe in paint splotches as he covers each room with an elegant red he’d fancied at the hardware store. The exception is the empty center room. He can’t resist. He paints it with layers of gold and gold and gold paint. He staples down the softest rug he can find at the discount center, and even, in his softest sentimentality, buys a pet bed for the Pokémon she’s sure to have, if she is anything like her parents. He doesn’t give up his remodeling venture until the Kecleon approves. And by approves, he means that he puts the Kecleon down on the floor and watches to see if it crawls all over the furniture with its tentative, grasping hands.
It does.
It also tries to eat a spot on the wall that he assumes it thinks is a fly? Its tongue pops off the paint with no expression he can discern, but it army-crawls its way back into his arms with what he assumes is disappointment.
He also waits to ensure that the Houndoom feels comfortable patrolling the house before suggesting his idea to Kanon.
She doesn’t approve. His wise and clever Kanon does not disapprove, either. She sits and thinks. He sits beside her and holds her hand while a finger taps on her chin, and she ponders, and she checks her phone for both their finances and her off-hours.
“…It seems reasonably possible,” Kanon decides, a week later, over her breakfast of granola and plain yogurt. He can’t help the kiss he leans over the table for.
And they have Cammie.
****
Camille Hotaru Lee is the smallest, most fragile thing he has ever seen.
He can admit it to himself, if to no one else. He doesn’t have Cammie for a cover. She is a special piece of himself that he wants, desperately, and he is selfish enough to go after this desire that has no other outlet. For him and Kanon to have a family. To have some permanence on her life that cannot be stripped away with the removal of his cover.
His handler, he’s sure, is suspicious of such compromise of his agent, but says nothing of it to his face. The man sends him endless offers to illustrate for children’s books instead. He paints with Camille on his lap. The Kecleon plays with her little grasping hands while he mixes the right shades of green for a moonlit hillside. Cammie burbles and giggles every time the Kecleon picks a new shade to mimic, until it realizes the color-changing makes her laugh. It begins to swap a thousand colors at once just to make Cammie shriek with laughter.
Kanon comes home in the evening to a house full of baby laughter and the faint smell of turpentine, and she sits beside the man who she has no reason to doubt is her husband, and they put serial dramas on the television while she pumps milk for the next day. The Houndoom snores ash at their feet. Camille sleeps to the sound of television sirens and the whirr of the pumping machine, and Kanon and he swap theories on the end of the episode, solving artificial crimes in a box.
Cammie learns how to walk during her persistent attempts to pull his easel down with her. It’s her climbing phase. He tries all types of child-proof locks on the house until another church member just buys him a pack of extra-thick rubber bands. It gets Cammie to stop opening cabinets. It also gets the Kecleon to stop opening cabinets for her in a show of solidarity.
The Kecleon sulks by slowly chewing on his t-shirts. He isn’t sure why. It goes limp as soon as he picks it up, and it’s not as if the thing has any teeth. It’s just…gumming up his laundry.
It is a peaceful, almost surreally so, childhood for Camille. He had grown up in a town house. His father had quartered his small family during the months he was in active service. He doesn’t have many memories but the smell of his mother cooking, the beige pavement crawling down the rue, and the overwhelming fear of his father coming home linger still in the back of his mind.

"Andrew?" Catherine peeked out of the kitchen archway and smiled, "I didn't know you were stopping by."
Andy smiled back, albeit a little nervous, and moved into the room. Approaching the counter, he reached for one of the jars only to get a gentle smack on his wrist. "Are you trying to gain weight again? No cookies." The woman said and moved back to the breakfast bar where she'd been sitting. "I need my boy to be trim and handsome."
Tonguing the inside of his cheek, Andy folded his arms across his chest and watched her for a moment. He'd stopped by to tell her he was moving, but now he was wondering if he should give her that notice at all. Sure, she'd be pissed, but he'd get the satisfaction of one-upping her for once. Frowning, he sighed. He couldn't do that. As annoying as she was, she was still his mother. "Mommy, I'm uh... I'm moving again." He said and leaned back against the counter, his eyes shifting over her. Meeting a similar pair of blues, his brows twitched and pinched as he tried to gauge her reaction.
"To a bigger place? Good. You should've done that years ago." She said and took a sip of her coffee while she glanced back down at the papers in front of her. "It doesn't look good at your age to still be living in an apartment. I know you have the money put away for a house, so I never quite understood why you hesitated." Humming softly, she smiled again. "If you need places to look at, Sarah-- You know, the real estate agent? I'm sure she'd be happy to help out. She's been wondering when you'd give her a call back too and-"
"I already found a place!" He cut in, his cheeks warm. Watching his mom's eyes widen, he stuttered and rubbed the side of his neck. "I-I mean I've already been looking. It is a house and it looks pretty nice." A lie. He, of course, hadn't seen it in person, but he had to have some faith. And if it needed some fixing up, he was sure Rabbit would be eager to get his hands dirty again. He already caught the man fixing things in his apartment, so there wasn't any real worry there.
"Oh." Her lips tightened, but she pasted on another smile. "Well, where is it? Are you moving over here? I'd love to have you a little closer." Catherine folded her hands in front of her on the bar, her eyes moving over her son. "A really pretty young woman moved a few houses down. Would you be interested if I-"
"Mom-"
"-set something up between you and her? You really should think about settling down now, Andrew. You just turned thirty-three, and I think-"
"Mommy!" Andy was red, his eyes wide and irritated. "I don't want to go on a date with your neighbor! I don't even know her!" Hands on his hips, he grimaced and shook his head. "A-And I'm not moving closer, I'm going to Montana! With Alex!"
The house grew silent. The tension was palpable as Andy watched the words settle in between the woman's eyes. Her gaze narrowed after a few moments, and a short laugh played on her lips. "No, you're not." She said and smiled, "Don't be silly. If Alex wants to drop everything he's worked for and move, he can. You don't have to follow him."
Jesus Christ. Andy rubbed his hand over his forehead and frowned, "I am! We're leaving at the end of next week." He told her, "I already put in my resignation at work, and so did he. I'm not here to get your thoughts on it, I'm telling you it's happening."
Catherine looked like she was about to blow a gasket. "Honey! Get in here!"
Rolling his eyes, Andy scoffed. What was his dad going to do about it? Pout at him? His mother held the man's nuts in a vice grip; he couldn't remember the last time he'd offered his own opinion about anything. The creak of the recliner signaled his appearance, and Andy watched his father stroll in to join them in the kitchen. Their eyes met, and they shared a brief, tired look. "What's up, Kitty?" He asked and found his place beside her.
"Our son thinks he's moving out to Montana with Alex Prescott! Tell him he's being ridiculous!" Catherine peeked up at her husband and frowned, her eyes burning. Frank blinked, his gaze shifting from his wife to his son and took a moment to purse his lips. Andy had been stuck under his mother's overbearing thumb for thirty-three years. He chose this life for himself, but the kid didn't. It was over his time for him to spread his wings and get away from this place and her both. Frowning, he hesitated, but cleared his throat and shrugged. "Why not? He'd easily find another coaching job over there. People would scramble to hire a former Yankee."
Andy's eyes widened, and his mother's were nearly bugging out of her head. Breaking into a wide grin, the boy laughed. There was a first time for everything! "Thanks, dad!" He said, beaming. "I'll get you the address and the phone number so you can keep in touch. I have everything set up already, and-"
"Francis Campbell! You take that back right now and tell him he's making a mistake!" Catherine was on her feet now, her finger poking into her husband's chest. "He's going to ruin his career, and he's running off with that... transvestite! He can't-"
Andy's face dropped. "What did you say?" He watched his mother puff up and redden, but her expression stayed firmly displeased. "You know what I mean! He's a stain on you and has been from the moment you befriended him!" She shot, brows furrowing. "Even when she was still acting like a woman, she wasn't good for you to have around! Having you pick her up when she's drunk and using your name to push her image and-"
Andy blinked, her rambling drowned out by the rushing of blood in his ears. He looked at his father, who was staring back at him with apologetic eyes, and then back to his still prattling mother. "I'm done." He breathed, the words an eerie calm. "This is why I'm leaving. You're why I'm leaving."
"Excuse me?" She shot, near snarling. "What did you say to me?"
Andy stood up straight and squeezed his fists at his side. "I can't stand living in your shadow and under your expectations. I was so stressed after my injury over what you would do and what you would say, that it took me near twice as long to recover. I nearly killed myself over it." He said, his blue eyes hard. "You treat me like a doll. Like I'm not human, and it almost killed me."
Catherine stared, speechless. Andy breathed hard, his face growing red. "I'm moving." He told her, firm. "And you'll be lucky if you hear from me again." Brows furrowing, he swallowed and put on a smile for her. "And tell all your friends and their daughters why I've never called them back, will you? Or no-- How about I do it, so you can't twist my words, huh? I'll give them each a ring tonight and let them know you've been knowingly setting them up with dick sucking faggot because you can't stand the thought of your son spending his time with other men!"
Catherine paled and sputtered. Andy laughed and reached back to grab a handful of the sweets she'd denied him, "You're both the worst kind of people! Fuck you!" He said, "I'm going to Montana to get fat and get fucked! Go find somebody else to make miserable!" Shoving one of the cookies in his mouth, he blew her a kiss and flipped her off before heading out the archway. "Bye Mommy!"
The door slammed. Catherine let out a shaky breath before glancing at her husband. "...He's not really leaving, is he? He'll be back, won't he?"

Peter Parker x reader(Oneshot)
This takes place during Andrew Garfields SpiderMan universe.
I wrote this quickly and I’m sorry if there’s any spelling mistakes. I’m not dyslexic but I type like a toddler. EMJOY
________________________________________ ________________________________________
Peter Parker had lost the love of his life once before, when his girlfriend Gwen Stacy fell to her death. He never thought he would experience that kind of pain again. But fate had other plans, and he found himself standing over the lifeless body of his newest love interest, Y/N.
They had only been dating for a few months, but Peter knew from the moment he met her that she was different from anyone else he had ever known. Y/N was kind, smart, and had a contagious smile that could light up any room. Peter was completely smitten with her, and he couldn't imagine his life without her.
But now, she was gone.
Peter couldn't believe it. He had done everything he could to keep her safe, but it wasn't enough. The villain they were fighting had thrown a bomb, and Y/N had shielded Peter with her body, taking the full force of the blast herself.
Peter fell to his knees beside her, tears streaming down his face as he cradled her lifeless body in his arms. He couldn't help but replay their last conversation in his head.
"I love you, Peter," she had said, before running off to help him fight the villain.
He had responded with a smile and a quick "I love you too," before swinging after her.
If only he had known those would be the last words she ever spoke to him.
Peter couldn't bring himself to let go of her. He held onto her tightly, as if by some miracle, she would come back to life. But he knew deep down that she was gone, and he would never get to hear her voice or see her smile again.
The days following Y/N's death were a blur for Peter. He couldn't focus on anything, not even his responsibilities as Spider-Man. He just wanted to curl up in a ball and forget the world existed.
But he knew he couldn't. Y/N wouldn't have wanted him to give up on his duties as a hero. So, with a heavy heart, he continued to fight crime and protect the city, but he knew that nothing would ever be the same without her by his side.
Peter never forgot Y/N. She was always on his mind, even years later. He often found himself wondering what their life would have been like if she had lived. But he knew that he would never know, and he would just have to keep her memory alive in his heart.
(A/n:Maybe you should’ve caught her Peter)

Station 19 Spin-off, but it's their kids
Your girl just finished Station 19 up until the most recent episode and y'know she had to make their future kids as well!
Jack's got twins because I said so.
I can just see him being a twin dad, yk?
Their mother is the worst, so Jack has sole custody of his little prince, Dean, and little princess, Lila.
Yes, he would indefinitely name his son after Dean - we all know how much Jack loves his Station 19 family!!
And he clearly loved his foster sister so much.
Lila looks up to Maya and strives to be a captain, so she made it there bc she's a Gibson.
Dean settling with just being a regular firefighter and watching his big sis rise.
Carina would for sure name her kid after her brother. She had a whole episode where she mourned her baby brother!
I feel like he'd be a doctor just so his mama (Carina) doesn't lose another Andrew that she loves, but he really just wants to follow in his mom's (Maya's) footsteps.
And so he does.
Travis finally meets the new love of his life (after Michael's death) and they have a son through surrogacy - which Travis and his partner agree to call Michael, both after Travis' late husband and the partner's father- I guess?
I would love it if Pru became a battalion chief, especially after seeing Dean wanna rise through the ranks but couldn't because...well, death, and so Pru does.
And hell if she lets anyone downtalk her because she's a female battalion chief-
You know she's not going to let it slide - we all know her aunts would have taught her that.
Okay but I would love to see a 'he fell first, but she fell harder' relationship in S19 and I've already designated that to Andrew Deluca-Bishop and Lila Gibson.
"But wouldn't Andrew have been created with Jack's sperm and Carina's egg?" "Wouldn't they be half siblings through Jack?"
No.
Canonically in this AU, Carina's body just didn't take to Jack's little guys, and the Deluca-Bishops found Mason (Maya's brother). They decided to try again with Mason's sperm so at least the child would have similar DNA to Maya and PRESTO-
Idk if that's how you spell it-
Maya figured at least the baby would have more of a chance to look like her since Mason is her brother, but Andrew was born looking like Carina, so- didn't really matter anyway.
Maya still adores her son, even though he looks nothing like her and every bit like a male version of Carina. He's her little boy, she knew she'd always love him from the moment she held him.
Vic and Theo having a little badass who is just like her mother-
Exactly like her mother in every way; looks, personality, attitude, every bit.
19 raising their kids together; like a village.
THE KIDS CALLING BEN "Grandpa" BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS CALL HIM "Dad"
Little toddler Dean crying when Ben tells him that he (Ben) isn't actually Jack's dad-
"You made a toddler cry, man." "I didn't mean to!"
Lila being a protective big twin sister, even at 3-years-old, glaring at Ben as her brother cries into their dad.
Jack having no clue what to do with his own children, so when a baby play pen (or whatever its called, I was 2 when my little brother was born and I see my younger cousins like once a year, if that-) it put in the lounge of the station, he just sticks them in that until they're hungry or need the potty.
It's 2am on Boxing Day and I should be sleeping but I can't.
Don't finish off the eggnog in your fridge and an entire Monster can right before bed.
It messes with your already messed up sleep schedule.
Or do. I'm not the boss of you.
Andrew being scared of Jack when he's thinking about asking Lila on a date, when he should be scared of her Uncle Travis.
As close as he is to his mom's friends, he doesn't actually refer to them as Auntie or Uncle. So...
Considers them family, because they're his parents' family, but wouldn't go out of his way to refer to them with familial titles.
Anyway-
Travis, while having his own kid, being incredibly protective of Jack's little Lila and Vic's little Marion.
He never had a daughter, and can't imagine having one, if he was honest. So Marion and Lila are the closest he has to daughters.
So, protective Uncle Travis? I say YES.
These kids for sure grew up with happy Christmases.
Firehouse Christmases, for sure.
They'd probably make Jack dress up as Santa, in all honesty.
Little Dean crying for his dad, and Jack tries to comfort him but he's like "I WANT MY DADDY! NOT SANTA!"
Jack takes off the hat and wig, and Dean immediately hugs him, and Jack just has to crouch there and not say anything because he wants his son to maintain that childhood innocence that he couldn't.
Jack letting his kids be kids for as long as possible, even well into their teen years, because he wanted that family so he's going to make sure his kids get that.
I feel like Andy would have a son, and she'd name him after Ryan because we all know how much she loved her childhood friend.
Him and Andrew being really close bc their moms are.
I think I'll leave it there because I'm gonna write a little christmas tale of when the kids were little.
Regarding middle names; Vic and Theo made Marion's middle name Andrea, after Andy helped Vic birth Marion (with Carina's help ofc, you can guarantee that Carina was there for a majority of the births), Jack made his son's middle name after his foster dad, and Vic helped Jack a lot with his daughter, so Lila's middle name is Victoria (she even gave Lila the period talk for Jack), and Ryan's middle name is after his grandpa.
Okay, I'm done for now-
S19 Children, Parent/s and Ages
Marion "Mari" Andrea Hughes - Victoria "Vic" and Theodora "Theo" Hughes, 20yo
Dean Marco Gibson - Jack Gibson, 21yo
Lila Victoria Gibson - Jack Gibson, 21yo
Ryan Pruitt Herrera - Andrea "Andy" Herrera, 23yo
Michael "Mike/Mickey" Montgomery - Travis Montgomery, 26yo
Andrew Deluca-Bishop - Carina and Maya Deluca-Bishop, 27yo
Pruitt "Pru" Miller - Dean Miller and JJ Lau, 32yo

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Welcome to Fairfield Market, where our prices are affordable compared to our competitor's" The woman on the loudspeaker spoke as Beth casually entered the supermarket.
"Fuck, I knew my brother was right about that man, only cared for himself" Beth sighed, trying to compose herself and not fog her glasses up with tears. "But of course, I had to go for him, because he seemed genuine at first, but later was a fucking disaster!" As Beth kept mumbling to herself, she grabbed a shopping cart and headed down the isles, trying to find some junk food to stuff her face, and maybe some food she could cook later for the week. "Gosh, gonna stuff my face again, fuck my life" she sighed, grabbing 2 Doritos Spicy Nacho flavor and a regular cheesy Dorito; they were on sale. "God I hope they have that soda on sale, been wanting a nice cold Baja Blast." As Beth headed down the soda isle, she heard someone calling from behind her.
"Sweetheart, hey, you dropped your wallet!"
"Huh?" Beth quickly turned around to see this hunk of a man rushing after her with her pink wallet and wearing such a handsome piece of clothing.
"Heh, damn, you're a fast walker" The man panted heavily, looking at her with such a sweet smile. "Good thing that I saw you lose this, who knows who could've taken it and spent all your money."
"Oh my gosh, thank you, I didn't even notice it falling out of my purse!" Beth sighed in relief, grabbing it from the man and opening up her handbag and shoving it inside.
"No problem at all sweetheart." "Having a rough day?"
"Yeah....m-my boyfriend of 4 years...broke up with me....so....yeah I'm fucking fantastic!" Beth sniffled, tears beginning to pool down her cheeks and fog up her glasses.
"O-Oh, I'm sorry sweetheart, don't cry" the man tried to calm her down, slowly grabbing her glasses from her face and wiping her tears away with the sleeve of his shirt.
Taken aback by this gesture, she pulled away slightly, finding it awkward that this stranger was being so 'nice' to her.
"Sorry, I did not mean to overstep...here" he cleared his throat, cleaning her glasses with the conveniently placed cloth he had in his back pocket. "There ya are."
"T-Thank you" Beth smiled cutely, grabbing her glasses and putting them back on her face. "I-I'm sorry I just am not used to such kindness."
"No need to apologize, I understand." "And I know it ain't none of my business, but I'm pretty sure that asshole you dated, did not deserve one bit of you."
"Heh, thank you" she giggled, cracking a smile when he reassured her. "Yeah, he didn't, I'm glad though that he didn't tell me to wear make up or put my hair down in order for me to look beautiful, because that would've seriously messed up my life even more."
"Even if he said that, you are perfectly fine being natural sweetheart, no reason to be ashamed of how you look like" The man chuckled, fixing his shirt a bit.
"Well, thank you again, I truly appreciate this talk, but I'm going to get some more junk food, and probably some food so I can cook for the week."
"Of course, my name is Damion by the way, if we uh....ever see each other again."
"Oh you know what, here, let me give you my number" Beth smiled as she grabbed a small notepad that had unicorns littered all over it, and began to write her number.
"That notepad by the way, is so adorable" Damion snickered.
"Oh heh, thanks, here you go...I hope um that it's not too much to be giving you my number."
"Nonsense, it isn't that much, I'm honored to meet someone new on my travels" Damion chuckled, grabbing the note with her number on it.
"Oh and my name's Beth, a pleasure to meet you Damion!"
"A pleasure to meet you too, and enjoy your shopping."
"Thanks, you too" Beth waved goodbye to him and continued down the soda isle to grab her soda.
As she continued down the isle, Damion's smile faded and his eyes stared at her from across the way. Not a stare of intrigue but a stare of hunger and obsession. When she was fully out of his sight, he pulled the note close to his nose and sniffed the delicious perfume scent that lingered on it, "Mmm fuck, she smells so good" he groaned, his pants tightening in reaction.
After about half an hour, Beth pushed her cart towards her red car, unlocking it and heading towards the trunk. "Damn, I bought way too much soda, but ya know, whatever!" she laughed as she began to load her trunk with the light stuff first.
As Damion walked out of the supermarket, he causally strolled on by her and then pretended that she had caught his eye, "Oh hey again, uh I noticed you have some of those cases of soda, do you need some help with that?"
"Oh, hey again Damion, and um, sure yeah that would be amazing!" Beth smiled, moving away from her trunk to allow him to help her. "So funny we caught up to each other again" she laughed, opening up her passenger door to put her purse in.
"Yeah I was just getting some few things and then walked right out, then I saw you, and seemed like you needed some help" he spoke to her, making sure that she wasn't looking and put a circular tracking device in the crevice of the trunk.
"Well honestly, you are a life saver, I am honestly glad we met" she told him, closing the passenger door when she was finished.
"Same here" Damion smiled cutely, putting the last case of soda in her trunk and then slowly closed it. "I'll put your cart away sweetheart, you just have a nice day, you deserve it."
"You are literally the sweetest, thank you Damion, hopefully we can talk again soon, bye!" Beth waved to him again as she got into her car and turned it on, making sure that she had everything before she left.
As Damion went to put back the cart, he glanced back, seeing she began to pull out of the parking lot and headed down the road. "She seems so sweet and so delicious" he chuckled to himself, fixing his hat a bit, readying himself to do some reconnaissance of her house; get a first hand view of her home, her life, and maybe potentially find that boyfriend that made her fucking shed a tear. He knew that she was a stranger, that they had just met, but something deep within him, wanted more; he wanted more of her kindness, wanted to hear more of her voice, and wanted to kiss every inch of her body until she was his forever.
Durt: A better time
Things did get better this time. Their grandmother did drink, but it was nothing like their mother's drinking. The abuse had stopped. Dustin lived closer to the school he was going to now so he would eventually start walking to school and his sister would take the bus since she was in middle school. The weekends were filled with love, joy, and happiness. Sometimes they would go to the mall and walk around. Play in the arcade, and win prizes. Some weekends they would go to Pretty Lake to see their great-grandmother. She always had the Amish around and you could smell delicious food as you pulled into her driveway. The trip there was always fun because you would go up and down hills and get that uneasy queasy feeling in your stomach. Dustin loved that feeling.
They would play on the boat dock, take boats out, go fishing, and swim. It was a much better time. Monica had divorced David for being abusive. He decided to work for a trucking company. Monica moved in with her mom and her kids but, her mother wasn't playing any games. You didn't come into that house drunk or cause fights or hit your kids for no reason. By the time fifth grade came around Monica was dating a new guy named Phil. He was a nice man and even took Dustin out with them on one of their dates. Crystal was in high school now and nowhere around. Dustin went with his dad for the summer and ended up in Walkersville, Maryland. While he was with his dad someone set fire to his grandmother's house. It took a little over a year but they found out it was people Dustin's sister was hanging out with. Dustin had decided to move in with his dad. Monica agreed to it. So Dustin was in the sixth grade in Walkersville, Maryland. Dustin made many friends for being so cast out and alone. He met David who was a high schooler. David was his next-door neighbor and big brother to Jennifer and Megan. There were Anna and Andrew who lived behind Dustin's dad's house and then there was Brandon who was Dustin's step-brother's son. Every day after school it didn't matter, they were a gang of friends. They always hung out together. Brandon, Jennifer, and Dustin went to Florida with Brandon's parents. They went to Universal Studios, Epcot, and Disneyland. They all had the times of their lives. It couldn't get much better.
