       " And you do not consider yourselves bad people. ” It was close to a question and, yet, not quite. She might have been so naive once, so content to believe good versus evil as in binary opposition to one another. The world, she had learned, was not so simple as that: whether Ares was still alive or not, darkness dwelled in all men and women, giving them the capacity for violence, and war, and trickery. All of the things she fought so ardently against, and over the years she had learned that understanding the motives, the means by which individuals were led down those paths were the keys to defeating them. Slowly, Diana turned from the television screen ---- and its news report that had prompted this apparent moralistic debate in the first place ---- to face him. “ I am not inclined to believe you some Robin Hood figure. Your money, ” she glanced pointedly around the hotel lobby, “ has not gone to the needy. ”
