+Even though they are a big company and have the funds, they were lazy to come up with their own storyline and everything and just copy-paste it from a smaller company. I understand that non-fans may not know about it but their production team are also KQ artists and they worked so hard to come up with a unique storyline and adapt it to their every cb since debut. It is so important for them. There is no way they will give it for PR like you said.

I don't care for any of the groups or companies, so I'm a disinterested party with no bias.

I said in the older posts that I do think JYP did the similarities to have the controversy and attract attention intentionally. However, the MV as a whole doesn't remind of Ateez. Only a few shots are the same. I don't know how Korea defines plagiarism, where it draws the line, but I highly doubt it's enough for court. The main concept of the MV is not pirates, it's the mix of three songs and "Be ready for us, we are coming".

There are certain "building blocks" in MVs that help to tell a story without words. Looking through binoculars - finding the far away goal. Close up of the legs - the importance of walking, of moving to another place. Heads turning to something in the sky - grabs attention, lifts up from mundane to the global, something bigger. Looking at the dawn from the roof - a new day, a new beginning. Flying - magic, something impossible, wonderful. The sea turtle and fish - something that lives in the sea, symbols of the sea. Plus they "fly" in the column of the water and travel far.

JYP can say that the MV is on the director. That the director, sadly, wasn't too creative and used widespread shots. There are no unique, never seen before scenes after all. As for the storyline, they can say it's a coincidence. Ateez doesn't have something patented. I don't know their full story, I only compared the texts from the second link. Boarding a flying ship and going out into the new world is the journey trope.
