Potentially weird habit but. When I get really fixated on an oc/blorbo or whatever I get embarrassed thinking cringey shit "In front of" them. Like ah fuck I was cringe in front of my imaginary fursona. shit

#my art#my ocs#furry art#furry oc#AKA FURSONAS RAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH#I've been finally meaning to rip that bandage off and revist my hyena-sona and as you can see there's no time like the present!!#It's actually been a really refreshing and overall happy process so far and I'm happy to share these small bits of it hehe#This all came from the fact I'm getting into the habit of animal studies again and I felt like this would be a nice test of my knowledge#I'm still forever learning but I think I'm on the right path of capturing the face structure of a hyena and in turn other canviorous mammal#My furrysonas are also vessels to give myself bodymods I'm way to scare to get to I just keep winning hehe#Perhaps I'll look just as cool as this...so day#Also fun fact: The reason I choose a capybara as a sona is because I was a capybara in my friend's Cult of the Lamb playthrough hehe#Ever since I've been connected to the large wet rodents; and I wouldn't have it any other way#THAT AND THERE'S BARELY ANY REFERENCES FOR CAPYBARA PAWS HELP ME#I must make them accurate and yet the limits of search engines pain me#That and hyena noses are tricky to understand but I shall digress

Did a small sona redesign lol. Tried to highlight the theme of combining death and cuteness better. Most of the changes ended up being just clearer shape language and getting rid of the unnecessary polka dots on the shirt.
On one hand, the first version is pretty much nearly identical to how I& usually draw my& sona, so it feels more familiar and speaks to me& closer. On the other hand, making her pale as death conveys the theming much better and imo makes for a better character design.
What are the thoughts? Do I& keep her alive or make her undead lol

I've realized that the problem with fursonas is that trying to engage with the concept feels exactly the same as when I was a little kid trying to have an imaginary friend; it sounds like fun, it looks like the other kids are enjoying it, it lowkey feels like something I, personally, should have, but whenever I try it just feels forced and fake and like I don't know how to do it, or that I'm doing it Wrong

OH THIS IS SUCH A CUTE ASK!!!!!!!! i / my sona would definately be an npc cryptid.... i think she'd be an annoying traveler that always needs saving from dumb situations, or like that one guy in totk putting up signs everywhere, she'd just have the same puzzle minigame set up in like 1000 different locations
(with the cryptid aspect being that "musu" is actually the sentient musubi on her head and it controls some random girls body)
#i would not want to interfere with the guild activities#and i also dont think im cut out for the adventures#and i cant compete with the merchant#just let her be the annoying npc#where you make it over a hill and be like (DAMN HER AGAIN???? I for one am shocked#My bowties tend to be quite poofy huh always very rounded - Charm's collar tapers kinda almond shaped#I'm still not entirely sure how the double-tapered look works.... It's scalloped >.> That's what I always say lol#Really she probably would and should have the Mandarin collar - possibly more scalloping >:3c - I just go outside the margins a lot haha#I've drawn her once or twice with the butterfly collar tho! Where her collar dips down into her spiderweb pattern at the top of her shirt!#It's a really cute shape ahhh it works best with my lineless stuff but even here I think it turned out nice! :D Cute!
