Hannibal re watch season one ep 9

fic concept: jack's pov. he gets a tip from freddie lounds that abigail hobbs is alive. freddie doesn't know where she is, but eventually, abigail gets herself caught -- she's alone, and not nearly as practiced in evading the fbi's attention as some people she's known.

when they have her, she's upset, visibly and constantly. she's falling to pieces over something she's been through, but when they question her, she gives up nothing. she won't even admit that she's been with will and hannibal. jack tries to tell her that the fbi can protect her, that she shouldn't fear being honest, and she laughs in his face. he ropes alana into the effort. abigail cries when she sees her, but still gives them nothing more than the same wry smile. you aren't getting it, she tells them. even if i knew where they were, i wouldn't tell you.

when they try to talk to her, it feels like her responses are a joke that they don't understand the punchline to. like she's talking to someone who isn't in the room. it's exactly how will used to talk when no one believed him that hannibal was the ripper, and jack has never felt so tired.

and then she's gone. they never see her again. jack suspects she's dead. they never get the full context: that abigail runs away semi-frequently, but always comes back. that this time the family fight went too far (on an emotional level more than a physical one) and she called freddie lounds. it was out of spite, mostly, since she knew it was one of the few things she could do to really piss off her dads -- but she also wanted clarity, another woman who was simple and forthright about her opinions (if little else), who didn't dance around everything. she regretted it as soon as she hung up the call, and even more once she was found. she knows what happens when people go to freddie lounds and then the fbi. she knows. she spends half the time terrified, knowing she'll go back home, but not knowing if she'll survive it.

meanwhile, will is absolutely LOSING HIS SHIT worried about her -- the article freddie publishes speculating on why abigail faked her death is the only contact they have with her -- and he's about half a second from snapping and going to kill freddie For Real This Time. hannibal is the only one stopping him from doing something monumentally stupid. (hannibal is also pretty annoyed with everyone involved, obviously, but he's confident that abigail won't betray them). when she finally shows up crying on their doorstep, she's scared to let either of them touch her, but when hannibal holds out his arm, she walks into the embrace anyway.

Hannibal is a carnivorous red deer serial killer. Will is a dog, one of those hunting breeds that like water cofcofachesapeakebayretrievercof, except his mom was a wolf and Freddy Lounds (a red panda, maybe ??) not quite aludes that he maybe perhaps wink wink nudge nudge is dangerous because he is an hybrid.

Abgail is also an hybrid but she looks like a pure breed white tailed deer, like Legosi's mom looked like a pure breed wolf; garred jacobs hobbs is a puma and all the minnesota shrike's victims (except he wouldnt be called that :v ) were deer girls from different species.

Dunno what kinda animals would be the rest of the cast, Alana is maybe another dog? Beverly Katz is a, well, cat? Dunno

Emptiness of Light and the Debt of Fear: chapter 2

Will removes his coat and knit hat as soon as he and Ben enter the bar and grill. The layout is rustic with ample room for booths and tables. Pool tables are scattered throughout the back rooms with dart boards lining the wooden walls pockmarked from darts not making the board. The actual bar runs almost the full length of the main room. The decor is what some would call vintage, others think of it as just junk collecting dust from each of the previous owners.The bar and grill serves as gathering space for most of it’s citizens since it was opened sometime in the 1800’s by the Russians. The basic structure of the building is still the same but with added space, modern  conveniences and technology that makes  it’s way north eventually.

The two men find a booth that has been abandoned by the previous patrons. A waitress comes by with a wash cloth leaning in as she cleans the table. She gives Will a in depth look at all her assets with her long blonde hair and big smile. Her name is Mandy. She’s probably in her late twenties, Will guesses. Her features are little worn from a hard life but still have a youthful glow. Mandy a recent migrant has found being one of the few women in the area to be an advantage. One she takes every chance she gets to better her tips.

“Hey Mandy!” Ben says smiling up at her.

Will merely nods in greeting. She looks at both men before deciding that Ben is worth her time to flirt with.

“Hey Papa Bear! How long have you been in town.”

“Oh just pulled in about a couple hours ago.”

“Well you picked a good day to come into town. Bert, here is giving everyone a free pitcher of beer and two rounds on the house. so what it will be guys. She drapes her arm casually on the booth ledge above Ben’s seat.

“What?! Bert?  That man is so tight he could get a diamond from coal out of his ass he’s so tight? Someone die? DId the bastard win the lottery?” Ben laughs hitting the table with a large paw of a hand. Will smiles but he feels the same  warning prickling in the back of his skull that there is a storm ahead.

“Naah. He’s been really tightlipped about it.” Mandy says in a stage whisper leaning over the table to get closer to Ben. Will smiles and shakes his head when he sees Ben’s breath hitch.

“Rumor has it some major deal has come in and he’s heading to Florida to retire.”

“That’s a change of pace.” states Will looking around the bar watching the patrons drink. The bar seemed louder than normal.

“You said it handsome. So guys, what will it be?” she posies her pencil on her pad popping her gum.
