When I had my first anxiety attack I looked up some stuff on how to manage stress and anxiety and one of the tips was to change your primary language and interact with stuff in a different language if you know one and I am only monolingual but I do know some Korean and am surrounded by Korean speakers a lot so it's comfortable and I'm able to get a little bit when watching and my favorite ever Korean media is The Return of Superman and it feeds into all of my deepest desires and it follows celebrity fathers and whatever they're doin with their kids and a lot of it's at home but sometimes they go out and do fun stuff and sometimes they have other celebrities come it's so good and wholesome and it does help with stress I've been watching it a lot you barely ever see the mothers which feeds into my fantasies of being a single father that I've had for a really long time like even before I started watching it which was like maybe sophomore year in highschool and child rearing in general and house keeping I love cleaning so much if it's not my own room or cleaning after my father after a drunken night because he actually leaves such a big mess in the kitchen nobody wants to touch it and it will sit for days if it happens and all the families have hard wood floors just like my grandma's house and I love laying on the floor in my grandma's house and I would actually love to be on my hands and knees wiping down a hard wood floor I think I'd actually prefer it to those Swiffer things and mops I would actually love it so much I saw this thing about having your toddlers help you clean and help with stuff and later in life they're more likely to value the effort they put into things and be happier and involved and yeah and it would be so fun to have a little helper and watch them try even if they're bad and there's this one account where this mother and daughter cook together and its so good id do everything with my child and im gettin hella books to read were always reading its something I dont do especially if its fiction like ill spend mass amounts of time reading about facts about something but not stories and I wish i would but I do not and I bought some books and Im readin bits here and there abd its good but like I cant just sit myself there abd do it even if I get immersed but for my child I would definitely before I went on the tangent I was gonna say it's something I really value like people that read are so cool people that can feel so deeply from reading stories and really get into it and take away from it are so cool i think I have a hard time visualizing in my head sometimes it's very of and on whether I can or not so its hard to visualize when reading but I love cooking and I would love to spend lots of time on it and share that with my child and I love cleaning and I would love if for my child to grow a love or atleast care for it I wish I loved cleaning my room as much as I loved cleaning everything else besides my room the return of superman is so good probably like my goals in life really first I have to move to Korea and become famous my aunt's keep telling me they want to take me there to do modelling that's my shot omg and I would wear matching clothes with my kid all the time that's is the goal the goal is to look so good and my kid looks so good and we're both so cute my kids would actually be so cute

Haha!
My friend, the ANXIETY of posting this was obnoxious-
Bit yeag, once I get into it I love writing like. Angst stuff. And I couldn't help but write the first scene as Night just losing all composure and reverting back to being a kid-
The Killer bit was probably my favorite to write, just because I kinda characterized him the way *you* characterized Ccino in Real Age (met Night when he was an adult, but just had a *feeling* something about him was still... young) so he's oddly tolerant of Night's antics and was weirdly loyal upon getting recruited. So this moment was just kind of a 'oh. Okay yeah, not the weirdest thing he's ever seen. Makes a LOT of sense' kind of moments .
And like... Nightmare's paranoia boughts that started after he ate the apple in the first place? They never really went away, but he had the mind to talk himself through them in ways Ccino taught him to, and always had one of the Knights stand nearby and ready. Without the magic boost, and with the magic *loss*, he skips straight into an awful paranoia episode and tries to flee!! And the others (more like Killer) recognized that, which os why he signaled Cross to drag him back before he hurt himself!
And. Uhh. Trying to think. The thing about magic being stolen was more from an older draft of the prophecy, where the Apple grew on a tree still, and when the magic left Night it seeped into his soul, abd his soul was the new Apple. This id obv scrapped now, but in a newer version I think he'd still panic just as much. Only, he'd assume the Knights were all spies from Dream (no offense, Cross) or smth.
There is SO much here I want to ramble on. Uh. I know I've talked about Cross being awkward about the interactions between him and Night, but he really does keep it as professional as he can until post-Teen era. Like, the bit where he feels shaken by Night's loss of magic would be amplified, probably, because he'd be worried Night doesn't trust him enough to keep him around, unlike the others who have their masks and seemed calmer than him.
And just... I don't know if I can think about anything else to ramble about- OH! Note I meant to add: The Knights all know Night's story. At least, the basic version. That he betrayed him brother to save (in the new version, both of them) from the overwhelming magic. So when it happens they're less in the dark than Real Age's boys, because they had a heads up about a tad of magic fonfoolery! (Though, not enough to expect their boss to be 13 lmao-)
Also thank u for letting me go feral over this!! <3 I love reading ur analysis always, hehe-
New Age au (og drabble)
Finally gave up trying to post this on my phone and I'm doing it from my computer >:(
Don't mind if this post seems outdated compared to any other lore you've seen, this is the very very very first version of this au that I wrote up in my drafts before making the first post about it here lol- It's inspired by @ancha-aus Real Age AU, and is buried in my bajillion insane Fantasy thoughts. (Knight AU basically, Nightmare is a king, usurped to twin thru prophecy stuff, hired on several murderers + outcasts as his elite group of knights.)
This is all un-edited and un-reviewed, best of luck! (I also lost 90% of the italics I added, unfortunately)
(@papiliovolens too btw! Hi!)
   Oh. Oh.
The feeling that sloughed through Nightmare's body was one that was foreign and uncomfortable. The sound you get when you walk with a pail of water and it sloshes and slams around inside no matter how carefully you walk? Yeah, that was happening to him.
His magic felt like all at once it sloshed to the front of his ribcage, then back again as he recoiled.
He was training now. Pinned between his knights as they slashed and charged at him. He always loved to enrich them with fast-paced work outs like today. The task was to try and incapacitate him, and he'd planned to tire them out for a while longer.
Now, though? He felt sick to his stomach and his vision doubled as he slid out of the way of Killer's blade. He was trying to keep it together, his movements still confident, but hell was it going to shit quickly. He'd never felt a drain like this.
As he nimbly moved out of the way of Cross, he noticed they were corralling him.
He wondered if this would pass. If he could finish out their training session without giving away just how horribly off-put he felt. Just how unbalanced he was becoming.
And yet when he ducked to evade a magic attack from Dust and nearly slammed directly into Horror's broad chest, he realized he was... not right. He was addled, and his senses were dulling. He was grasping at straws trying to identify the magical signatures of his team.
Nothing. It was just as bad as being blind.
He spun away again, facing his entire team as he caught sight of them. They were having fun. They were enjoying themselves, focused and invested. He hated to cut that off so soon.
Nightmare stood tall, opening his mouth to announce a hault, when...
   He threw up.
Not... not in the way most living creatures do. It wasn't bile or mucus or digested food that flooded from his mouth, but instead all at once his magic seemed to erupt.
It clogged his throat, and he reached up for his jaws as it flooded out of him. He hunched a bit, only barely catching the surprise enter the expressions of his team as he stared back at them in shock. In disgust at himself.
Then his knees gave out. All at once, sense flooded from his mind and he slammed to the ground, his knees and elbows taking the brunt of his weight, joints jolting painfully as his good eye centered in on the ground. Where his magic was pooling and slipping away from him. Down into the cracks in the stone and the mat beneath him.
He trembled there, unable to bring himself to move. To try and hold it in. He couldn't breathe, it was just a flow of his magic like someone was tearing it out of his very core. Siphoning it like a straw.
He saw a shadow cast over his view, he heard scuffles. The voices were there, but the feeling of losing his grasp on his magic was too overwhelming. He couldn't make anything out past his out soul beating like a drum in his chest. He was losing it. Something. A part of himself.
Then a touch. A contact with his back.
Not through the protective veil of his magic, not through the sensation of transmitted contact. A thin fabric held him apart from the bony hand that so gently rested along his spine.
He gagged on the magic, seeing as it started coming in spurts. He... did not like that sensation. The gasping and the choking as it continued to rise from his core.
In a fit of shaking strength, Nightmare forced his body to move. He caught sight of pearly white bones exposed on his hands when he moved them out of the pile of sludge. He weakly shoved himself towards where he thought the hand was from, and collided with a large body. Someone's side. They were knelt.
He pressed his back to them as he continued to heave, and the presence drew closer, almost around him. An arm now covered his back, leather pressing heavily into his weak bones. It didn't matter if it hurt, because it made the heaving less horrifying.
It felt like an eternity of agony as the last of his magic dripped out of his throat and onto the ground.
His chest hurt, his neck hurt, and jaw hurt. His knees ached from the mat and his entire body still shook. He wasn't sure what to do with himself. Why had that happened?
He couldn't feel his team.... his team!
Nightmare's head shot up. His breathing was ragged, and he surely would've fallen over had he not been so heavily supported by that body.
   Horror.
Horror was the one who was supporting him upright. Who was staring at him, brow furrowed and silent. Who seemed deeply perturbed by what he saw.
Past him, Nightmare could see the others. Cross, Dust, and Killer. They all seemed poised, ready to attack an unknown threat. Their backs were to him. The training room was utterly empty.
"M'lord?" Horror muttered in question, almost hesitant.
Nightmare stared up at him a few more seconds. His mind was chugging through what had happened, trying desperately to come up with a solution.
"Stand down." Nightmare ordered. Though, it felt like a squeak compared to his usual deep tone. His voice had lost any bit it might've held not ten minutes prior.
At the order, the other three whipped around and observed Nightmare.
Cross seemed reproachful. He looked to the others. He was the newest, probably wondered if they'd seen this before.
Dust only really turned a bit. A glance from the corner of his eye. Evidently he wanted to stay vigil.
Then there was Killer, who immediately dropped to his knees in a kneel to examine Night more closely.
"Lord, are you hurt?" Killer asked.
He was the first of them, and knew Nightmare best.
Nightmare stared at Killer. He was so earnest and loyal.
"I... the apples of the prophecy have revoked their magic. I am... I am weakened." He admitted loosely, staring at Killer. He felt empty.
Killer frowned, his brow furrowing. "May I check you, Lord?" He questioned then.
   Nightmare nodded.
The feeling of magic flowing through his body was not invasive nor unwelcome. It combed his very being, before revealing itself in script before Killer.
   Nightmare
The prophecy will not be delayed. His title may now be challenged.
Nightmare winced as Killer seemed to hunch even more down, closer to the ground. "If someone can reach my soul, they become holder of the prophecy. I- Dream will know. He'll come for me." He croaked. "Everyone will come." He added, suddenly feeling a terror strike into his soul as Killer raised his dark sockets to stare at Nightmare.
Killer hardly moved his hand, and Nightmare felt a second-wind sweep him up. A rush of adrenaline. Some wild jackrabbit just woke up in his soul and realized with a blood-chilling terror that it was surrounded by dingo.
He thrust himself out from under Horror's arm before the knight could think to constrict him, and caught himself on his feet.
Killer's gaze trailed him. As did Horror's as he seemed surprised.
Dust stood perfectly still as he went stumbling backwards. And Cross? Well Cross was-
Nightmare wasn't sure what came over him when he felt arms around his sides. He was hoisted off the ground, he recognized the technique, it was Cross.
"Cross, release me!" He ordered, bis voice weak and panicked. Some part of him knew Cross wouldn't do it. He knew he'd be delivered to Killer and Killer would carve out his soul.
He was carried back to the group of nights, then forced to the ground, Cross holding him in place firmly, right where Killer and Horror were still sat.
His vision- it was growing blurry with tears. His composure completely broken at the aspect of being killed so soon.
"Killer, please don't."  He pleaded, seeing the skeleton draw closer.
Killer seemed to frown, "Lord, have some faith in us. We'd never let anything happen to you." Killer said, sounding unimpressed.
He raised his hands, and gently laid them against Night's neck.
Warm, soothing magic coated the tight injury, and Nightmare tried to resist the temptation to squirm in Cross' grip as it eased his ailment if only slightly.
"Your soul's beating so hard I can hear it from here. Breathe." He ordered then.
Nightmare took gasping breaths, slowly, very slowly, trying to calm himself. Of course they wouldn't hurt him. These were his knights. He just... he hasn't been so weak in years. Why did he... why did he panic like that? Why... was he so scared still?
He didn't open his socket, his good one, for a minute. He let the ebbing race of his soul calm. He tried to remember that he was the one who taught Cross this hold. A non-lethal hold, one which didn't risk harming the target. He tried to relax, to go limp in the hold, but he couldn't. He was still shaking.
He kept breathing. And breathing. He'd trained all of them to go for the kill, none of them enjoyed toying with their prey. They would not kill him.
"I apologize. I- I don't know-" He tried to speak, only to choke up again as he tried to open his eye. His body just felt so heavy, and so, so abysmally empty.
   He squinted at the group.
"He hasn't stopped shaking." He heard Cross report unabashedly from behind him.
Horror stared for a brief moment, before he sighed. "Magic loss. I can hardly feel his aura, he has to be drained all to hell right now. Running on fumes." Horror announced solemnly, his big red eyelight focusing on Cross.
He knew Horror was right. He didn't know why it hadn't occurred sooner. His form was reacting poorly to the loss of a godly amount of power. Of course he was afraid and vulnerable.
"Mm. What did he usually do to help me? Soup and bed-rest?" That was Dust, his grumbling tone barely scraping Night's ears.
Killer and Horror looked to eachother in agreement, nodding.
"Lord, I'm going to assume you're delusional and exhausted from magic loss right now, so I'm not taking the tears personally." Killer voiced then, looking to Nightmare. "Cross and Dust are going to escort you to your quarters, Horror is going to bring your dinner, and I'm going to go triple check that this place is on lock-down."
Nightmare stared at him with a wide eye, and it took him several seconds to realize that Killer was waiting for something.
"P- permission granted." He muttered, and Killer nodded and raised from his knees to stand.
Horror followed him, and Cross took a few moments before he eased Nightmare onto his feet. He realized only then that he was barely Cross' height. Barely tall enough to look him in the eyes.
He still shook like a newborn fawn, but felt less weak. Cross offered his hand awkwardly. Nightmare noticed he was avoiding his gaze.
Horror and Killer were far out of the room by the time Nightmare could muster a standing position. His cloak was far too long for him now, and he hastily bundled the edges up into a bunch before tightening his belt into them. Dust helped him with the clasp, his hands still too shakey.
He pulled up his hood, and gripping Cross like a lifeline, the trio left the training room and headed towards Nightmare's quarters. He was a weak, weak man, he realized. Fragile. Once a servant was turning a corner away, no doubt spooked by Dust, and Nightmare nearly fled out of fear.
They opened and closed the doors, revealing the darker room. Cross led Nightmare to his bed and gently helped him out of his training wear, only leaving him in the simple under-clothes, which still seemed to hang off of him.
He eased into his bed, and he wanted to say something to Cross as he dutifully fluffed Nightnare's pillows, but he could muster nothing. He couldn't bring himself to- no...
"Cross?" His voice was a bit stronger again. It hurt less to speak. No doubt Killer's magic settling in.
The knight seemed to jolt a bit, looking to Nightmare. Nightmare slunk back under his gaze, unable to withhold the reflexive recoil.
"I- Thank you, for disobeying orders." He managed, "I could've hurt myself in my frenzy. You made the right call." He admitted, before swiftly turning his head away.
Cross seemed silent for a moment, hesitating at the bedside.
"You always said if you fell ill that Killer would be in charge. I just figured this was one of those instances and did as he ordered." Cross reported, his voice meek as well. He seemed to be taking Nightmate's sudden decrease in magic just as hard as the tyrant himself.
Nightmare nodded a bit. In agreement. In acknowledgement. Of course Cross would never disobey him on his own whim. Cross had always been a soldier.
The room grew still in the wake of the words, and Nightmare felt himself sink a bit easier into his pillows.
Cross stationed himself by the door, and Dust settled at the foot of Nightmare's bed, using the trunk sat there as a seat. He'd done it before in the past, and Nightmare had never noticed how defensive of a position it was until that moment. He felt... secure. Like he always did with his knights.
.
Horror returned with a meal within the hour, gently awakening Night from his dazed half-sleep which had nearly consumed him. His sockets were heavy when he sat up to take the plate onto his lap.
It was a nice cut of meat, and a drink he was almost positive was plain water, with what looked to be fresh plants from the gardens.
Horror had handed over the utensils, and stood idly near to Dust as Nightmare worked his way through the food. He'd never had a large appetite before, not even as a boy. Now he had devoured everything on his plate, and felt sick for it.
It seemed to please Horror, though. As Night discarded the plate to his nightstand, Horror had turned his head and smiled at him. He hardly had the strength to nod back in approval.
.
Night had fallen asleep mere minutes after he finished his meal, sinking back into his pillows with a soft repose. Horror had stood and pulled his covers up a bit further. Nightmare was a lot smaller, now. The linens drowned him, and the his bed felt all too large. His frame seemed fragile. Dwarfed in the expanse.
It wasn't until Killer entered that anyone spoke. Nightmare had drilled it into them that Killer was the one in charge if anything weren't wrong.
"Everything's secure, all the guards know to be on alert." He reported to the other three. His gaze only lingered on Nightmare for a few seconds before his shoulders sagged. "How are we feeling about Nightmare? Does it look like he was right? Prophecy privileges revoked?" He asked quietly, though he could see with his own eyes just how obvious it must've been. Nightmare was small, and frail, and his skull was covered in cracks.
Dust hummed, "No sign of his usual aura. Seems like he's going to be okay, though." He reported evenly. Killer didn't need to look to know the others were also looking at their King. Exhausted, tucked soundly into bed.
"Surely he can't continue his duties like this. I mean... we scared him. Us." Cross piped up from the door. It seemed he still hadn't recovered from his own apprehension. Killer had seen the hurt in his face when Nightmare had been so afraid.
Killer scoffed, "To be fair, I think that's the normal reaction to seeing us, Cross." He teased, "But no, you're right. Even if he's more calm when he wakes up, we shouldn't let news spread of this... change. It would put him in danger." Killer lamented a bit, and heard the others all give grunts of agreement.
Horror shifted onto his feet, "We'll have to keep close to him. He seems... younger. I don't like the idea of leaving him alone when there might be threats." Horror had been raised on the outskirts, he was always sensitive to young people. When Cross had joined them, he'd lingered around him so often Cross was sure Horror wanted him gone.
The big guy was just trying to make Cross more comfortable was all.
Killer tapped at his thigh as he stood there, "We'll take shifts, then. Assume we treat this as an illness for now, follow his protocol, and once he's feeling better we can decide if he's still fit enough to, y'know, order us around." Killer said to the group, though there wasn't going to be fuss either way. Killer was always the one they'd trust next after Night. It was only right. They'd all trust Killer with their lives.
They all seemed to silently debate.
"I'll take first shift. I was going easy during training, so I'll stay up tonight." Dust finally chimed.
Killer agreed, and the others, after some hesitation, ushered out of their king's room and out into the halls.
Cross said he'd go back and train some more on his own, Horror said he was going to go get food for himself and Dust. Killer was going to go reschedule all of Night's meetings for other times or assign them to advisors. They all had things to do, and it felt strange to know their King was now not who they once knew. The fear in his eyelight had been the same fear they saw when they got injured, or sick, or hurt. They never expected to cause that fear to the man who had earned their full trust.

Single-pet home: Due to the concerning behaviors that Bowie has shown during playgroup (see DOG-DOG SUMMARY), we feel that Bowie should not visit dog parks and be the only resident dog. The Behavior Department recommends that he be socialized in a more controlled setting until his behavior towards other dogs can be further addressed. Reward-based, force-free training can be utilized to help Bowie associate dogs with things he enjoys like toys or treats. Recommend no dog parks- Due to the concerning behaviors that Bowie has shown during playgroup (see DOG-DOG SUMMARY), we feel Bowie should not visit dog parks until he has had the opportunity to learn appropriate social skills when interacting with other dogs. The Behavior Department recommends that Bowie receive dog socialization sessions under the supervision of a certified trainer or behaviorist. Place with a New Hope partner: Due to a previous known bite history, we feel Bowie would be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced rescue partner. Potential challenges: House soiling Basic manners/poor impulse control Fearful/potential for defensive aggression Bite history (human) Potential challenges comments: Bowie was previously reported to have accidents in the house and will likely need guidance with house training. We recommend positive reinforcement, reward-based training only. Please refer to the handout for House soiling. Bowie was previously reported to jump up excessively in a social manner. It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Leave it", "Sit/Stay", "Down" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach him to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended. Please refer to the handout for Basic manners/poor impulse control. Bowie was reported to have bitten a passerby while he was being walked on leash, further details remain unknown. Please see handout on Bite history as well as handout on Fearful and Defensive Aggression. VC #79 Curtis
I wouldn't have any problems with Shiro ending up with Curtis if there had been more development and time for Shiro to heal and move on. It's literally like they thought, oh shpot, our big gay draw is not happening, we already killed the other guy, lets add in this dude! Curtis is adorable and in the wedding shot they do seem so happy. I could accept them as canon with no problem if Shiro had been given time to mourn. If we cut out Kuron's time, cuz he wouldnt have given a shit, Shiro still had a very long amount of time missing Adam and not knowing. And if Shiro got to do any mourning at all, it was kept off camera. And that pisses me off. Adam had 3 minutes of relevant content. But he aas a big part of Shiro's and maybe even Keith's life. A few of the new Adam antis are saying that Adam is bad because he made Shiro choose. Im sorry hun but if my fiance was going to head into space, while suffering from an incurable disease, and was going to be gone for maybe a year, then I sure as hell would put up a fight. We dont see it but theyve probably talked and argued over Shiro going for a long time. And Adam probably thought they had settled the issue and had decided together that Shiro wasnt going to go. So then Shiro comes back to their room and tells Adam he's going. No discussibg it again. Shiro decided on his own that he was going to go. Adam had every right to be upset. So then Shiro's gone abd Adam may be bitter, possible planning abd preparing for the argumebt when Shiro gets back. But after the months of knowing Shiro's journeying to Kerberos, it's made news that the mission failed and the crew is called dead. Adam thought Shiro was dead. At least thats what we can assume. With so littke screen time for Adam it is hard to judge and know how in the loop Adam would have been kept. But assuming Adam wasn't told anything, he has thought Shiro was dead for a year before the show takes place. Possible a year and a half since they broke up. So by the time the show even begins, Adam has been moving on. But Shiro doesnt get that. He spends the months flying to Kerberos focused on the mission, trying to proce that his disease isnt holding him back. And then he has a year in captivity. Where he is put through torture and worse. Id bet my life that Shiro probably cried himself to sleep some nights wishing he had listened to Adam. Shiro goes on though. He fights a war. And he does it well. For all we know, the only knowledge and thought of Adam he carries for those years is one of regret and sorrow. But is any of that shown on screen? Hell no. Why? Because Adam was added and killed for baiting and nothing else. If they had been real they would have existed. We would have seen Adam before season 7, wven just a mention of his name. Adam would have had an actual presence. Hell Shiro could have sent a video back with Sam for Adam. And Shiro would have gotten to mourn him on screen. Because it's one thing to believe that you lost that chance, knowing that you were done and living with it. It is another thing to learn that someone very dear too you is dead and died a hero in a war. Because Shiro didnt move on, at least not to a new relationship, before learning Adam was dead it would have hit him very hard. But we dont see anything. And if Shiro's mourning occured in the months between 7 and 8 then why not mention or show it somehow. Shiro visiting the memorial with flowers or just standing there quietly. They could have shown that he moved on very easily. But they didnt. And it pisses me the fuck off. Curtis could have been great. But they didnt build it on screen. Curtis and Shiro had little on screen interaction and none of it was noticeable because i was blindsided as fuck when they got married. There was absolutely no development. Nothing. I only know about Curtis cheering Shiro on at Clear Day because people went back and had to find Curtis and figure out who he was. I loved these characters too much. Im like a parent with kids. I dont just let my kids get engaged without meeting the s.o. first. Shiro could have been obviously gay from the start. But he wasnt. There is a reason the shiro and allura content is everywhere and rampant in any fic pre lotor. And when Matt came along, the shiro matt shippers took yarn and went bungy jumping. It just there was so little proper development. For everyone. This post mainly focused on Curtis, Adam, and Shiro but i am going to be dissecting every aspect of what failed in voltron as it comes to my attention. I was going to do the obvious Allurance one first but Curtis is popping up everywhere and was on my mind when i opened up the new post. There is so much more that voltron could have become. But it didnt. Ezor and Zethrid were the most we got out of a lgbt+ couple. And we all thought they were dead! If voltron had just stayed ship free it would be one thing. Find a way to leave it open ended. But they didnt. By giving us supposed endgames they gave us the right to argue and critisize them on how they developed the story. A show is nothing without a fanbase. And the voltron fanbase can be very toxic but we are what made voltron big and made it happen. We all loved and adopted the characters of this show. And the endings we got are subpar and feel like a knife in our chests.

Bardi
Hello, my name is Bardi. My animal id is #80514. I am a female white dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years 2 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 11/2/2019.
Sorry, this pet is for new hope partners only.
Bardi was placed at risk due to behavioral concerns; Bardi has been observed to escalate to defensive aggression when approached or attempting to handle her. Bardi warms up readily toward novel handlers but would be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced rescue partner who can allow her to acclimate and decompress at her own pace, prior to reassessing her behavior in a more stable environment and seeking permanent placement. Bardi is otherwise healthy.
You may know me from such films as...

Let's get to know each other a bit more...
A staff member writes : I wanna party with Bardi !!! this cutie pie is just awesome !! Bardi was super shy in the beginning and stood to the back of her kennel . We would go on walks and she would just remain calm and cool walking perfectly on the leash . When she was ready to show me just how amazing she was , she blew me away !! This little lady has great energy!! from wanting to play ball , to dancing with her favorite staff members , to running and jumping as high has she can . She takes treats so so gently and loves to get lots of pets and back scratches. Bardi is just the perfect dog no matter what the vibe is , if its a chill vibe you want she will snuggle right next to you . If it fun vibe you want she is the perfect part animal for you ! so come give this beauty a chance to wow you !!!
My medical notes are...

King was reported to approach Bardi when she entered the home, displaying soft and loose body language and attempting to engage in play. Bardi was observed to growl, bare her teeth and rush forward before biting and holding King's left leg before shaking him. The finders were able to separate the two dogs and surrender Bardi to the care center. This bite incident resulted in three punctures to King's left leg.

ENERGY LEVEL:: Bardi has been observed to exhibit a medium level of energy during her interactions in the care center. We cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment, but we recommend that she be provided daily mental and physical stimulation as an outlet for her energy.
IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: 11/19: Although Bardi is fearful around novel people, she becomes comfortable when offered treats. She enjoys fetch and always returns the ball and drops it. With familiar handlers, she allows petting and sits next to them. She displays a soft, wiggle body and engages in play with them.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: New Hope Only
Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable
Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner
Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): Due to Bardi's observed handling sensitivity, fearful behavior and anxiety, combined with her recent bite history (dog), we feel she would be best set up to succeed in an adult-only home at this time.
Place with a New Hope partner: Although she has shown significant improvement since her admission to the care center, Bardi has been observed to escalate to defensive aggression when approached or attempting to handle her. Bardi warms up readily toward novel handlers, but would be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced rescue partner who can allow her to acclimate and decompress at her own pace, prior to reassessing her behavior in a more stable environment and seeking permanent placement. Force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing or exposing Bardi to new and unfamiliar situations, as well as utilizing guidance from a qualified, professional trainer/behaviorist.
Potential challenges: : Handling/touch sensitivity,Fearful/potential for defensive aggression,Anxiety,Bite history (dog)
Potential challenges comments:: Handling sensitivity | Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Although Bardi displays social behavior, she exhibits initial fearful behavior when introduced or exposed to new situations, where she has been observed to escalate to growling and hard barking when approached or uncomfortable. Bardi has also exhibited similar behavior when attempting to handler her, although settles readily after some time. Bardi has shown significant improvement during her interactions since her admission to the care center, but should never be forced to interact or approach if she is not comfortable. Positive association should be paired with anything Bardi displays fear toward. Please refer to the handout for Decompression period and Handling/touch sensitivity, as well as the handout on Fearful/potential for defensive aggression.
Bite history (dog): Finder reported Bardi to have had a recent bite incident with their resident puppy in the home, resulting in three punctures (SEE BITE HISTORY). Please refer to the handout for Bite history (dog).
Anxiety: Bardi exhibits anxious behavior during her interactions in the care center, where she has been observed to pant, whine and exhibit some displacement behavior. Please refer to the handout for Generalized Anxiety.

Date of intake: 8-Apr-2018 Summary: Friendly, attention-seeking, active Date of initial: 8-Apr-2018 Summary: Social, energetic, difficult to handle due to activity ENERGY LEVEL: His previous owners describe Capone as a high-energy dog, which matches what we have seen in the care center. He may need guidance to learn how to appropriately channel that energy when he becomes overstimulated. He will need daily mental and physical stimulation and exercise, and force-free, positive reinforcement-based training may help him to learn impulse control and to train desirable behaviors that can be rewarded. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: EXPERIENCE (suitable for an adopter with some previous dog experience, especially with the behaviors outlined below) Recommendations: No young children (under 5) No cats Single-pet home Recommend no dog parks Recommendations comments: No young children: Due to the behavior seen in the care center (lack of impulse control and exuberance), we feel that Capone may be intimidating for young children at this time given his exuberance, size and strength. We believe a home without young children would best set him up to succeed at this time. Single-pet home/No dog parks: Due to the concerning behaviors that Capone has shown during playgroup (see GROUPBEHAVIOR SUMMARY), we feel that Capone should not visit dog parks and be the only resident dog. The Behavior Department recommends that he be socialized in a more controlled setting until his behavior towards other dogs can be further addressed. Reward-based, force-free training can be utilized to help Capone associate dogs with things he enjoys like toys or treats. No cats: Capone is reported to chase cats he sees outside. For the safety of the cats, we recommend against a home with cats or where he may come into contact with cats. Potential challenges: Basic manners/poor impulse control Potential challenges comments Basic manners/poor impulse control: It is recommended that default behaviors such as "Leave it", "Sit/Stay", "Down" are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach Capone to control his impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended. Apparently, Beautiful, and Best Friend: Very sweet, shy, tender hearted brindle boy in need of a soft voice and a quiet, structured home where he can feel safe, loved, and thrive. TIMON OLUNTEEP Id 67422, 4 Yrs., 38 petite lbs., Dreaming of a family of his own, at Manhattan ACc TO BE KILLED 8/27/19 From Shy to Social, Smiley Boy Timon Wants to find His Forever Home! ~ Timon is a tiny little guy with big bat ears and a gentle heart, who craves a loving & quiet home and a family to love. He was found in the streets and brought to the shelter by police, a teeny, tiny petite little man of only 38 lbs who was frightened after his experience and only wanted to feel safe and loved. But the shelter is no place for sensitive souls with tender hearts, and a bravery deficit, so TIMON didn’t find the quiet, calm, “safe space” he had hoped for. He’s so incredibly adorable with his big bat ears, his white socks and his gorgeous tiger brindle coat. Add to that his big smile, or the way he sits so straight and tall, trying to project a courage he doesn’t feel as he tries to negotiate the Brooklyn Center. The volunteers do their best to give him comfort, always taking time to talk to him in a soft voice, snuggling with him on a bench, softly petting him and telling him not to worry – it will be ok. But it won’t be ok if no one picks this beautiful sweet boy. He needs an experienced foster or adopter who can give him the quiet space he will need to find his rudder. Can you help this little man out? Message our page or email us at [email protected] for assistance fostering or adopting him now. A volunteer writes: Hakuna Matata is not Timon's moto but it could be if he gets to move in with you, as your forever best friend. Timon is a handsome lad whose face and moves light up as he distances himself from the care center. He strolls beautifully, does his business, sits on command and respects small critters and other dogs. I was surprised to see that the noises and crowding of the park did not bother him. He seemed to feel like home. Timon got lots of compliments from passerby's. He is a unique Boroughbred I said! Still everyone was trying to take a guess about his mix. Maybe you will too? Timon is shy but after a while spent with him, he will jump on a bench near his caretaker and accept caresses. There is love at first sight and love that comes with trust and time. Timon is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center, dreaming to be his carefree self, in your hands! Volunteer Evelyne Cumps writes: Timon (67422) is a lightweight (37lbs) brindley 4 year old neutered male, a very elegant, healthy stray that was very shy upon arrival but opened up amazingly. He truly is a favorite of all here at the care center but for some reason has not caught the attention of the public. may be because he is such a quite mouse in his kennel. He is one pretty dog who could have some BT up his family tree. He was so shy in PG but now, he plays nicely with males and females in PG. he is a great walker, goes to the park, is fine with all its activities and noises, nears other pooches politely, sits, comes when called and is likely HT. His behavioral eval is level 3 as he was scared (although NEVER) aggressive upon arrival and for days. Staff, behav staff and vols have been working daily with him and Timon has really bloomed. He is waiting for his Pumba at the Manhattan Care Center! MY MOVIE: Timon, The Magnifique! https://youtu.be/ldDHl3QiJZo TIMON, ID# 67422, 4 yrs old, 38.6 lbs, Unaltered Male Manhattan ACC, Medium Mixed Breed, Brown Brindle / White Surrender Reason: Stray, brought by police Shelter Assessment Rating: NEW HOPE ONLY Medical Behavior Rating: BEHAVIOR NOTES Means of surrender (length of time in previous home): Stray Behavior toward strangers: A woman, living with dog, said he growls at her and snaps FOSTER BEHAVIOR NOTE Timon was with the foster and a 10 year old girl at the street came close to him, Timon jumped on her and scratched her. He solicits play at times, but is more intent on following and sniffing. 7/5-7/15: Timon engages in bouncy play with a female dog. 7/16-PRESENT: Timon is playful in a group of male and female dogs. INTAKE BEHAVIOR: Date of intake: 28-Jun-2019 Summary: scared but warmed up MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Date of initial: 28-Jun-2019 Summary: trembling, tense, fearful, allowed handling ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Timon so we cannot be certain of his behavior in a home environment. At the care center, he displays a medium level of activity. IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS: Timon was initially fearful and uncomfortable with touch when he arrived at the care center. Through daily interactions with handlers and dogs in playgroup, Timon has become increasingly social and on 7/5-7/6 began soliciting attention from handlers. He will approach with soft body and wagging tail and when handlers pet him he will lean in. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: NEW HOPE ONLY Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations: No children (under 13) Recommendations comments: No children: Due to how uncomfortable Timon is currently with touch and novel stimuli, and that he was reported to growl and snap with the person he was staying with, we feel that an adult-only home would be most beneficial at this time. New Hope Rescue Only Potential challenges: Fearful/potential for defensive aggression. Potential challenges comments: Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Timon was reported to growl and snap by the person he was staying with. At the care center, he has been very fearful. Cats, Children, and Comfortable: 72246-3 years old, 52 lb atum Super cute, friendly outgoing, loose &tail- waggy with handlers, tived in harmony with another dog ATBROOKLYNACO WATTING FOR A GOOD HOME TO BE KILLED - 8/22/2019 ADORABLE BABY-FACED TATUM has the face of a puppy but he's actually 3 years old. Tatum was once chosen to become a part of a family. He was adored, promised forever, and then abandoned without the slightest consideration. Tatum was so delighted to belong, to cherish, protect and serve. He lived in harmony with his family and sought approval from the home he thought would always reciprocate his unconditional love. Forever to a doggie means forever till their last breathe, and though they don’t live that long, each moment spent is done so with only tenderness, and affection toward their family and we're pretty certain this was the case for adorable Tatum. The tragedy here is that despite betrayal, Tatum (like most dogs) continues to love the home that discarded him and would stop at nothing for them. The beauty in this tragedy is the pureness of Tatum's heart to love again. This is why he deserves a loving home who will not renege on this promise. Tatum is out of time today and badly in need of second chance in a good home. Please help us share this cutie so he isn't overlooked. TATUM@BROOKLYN ACC Hello, my name is Tatum My animal id is #72246 I am a male tan dog at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old, 52 lb Came into shelter as ACO impound 8/10/2019 Tatum is rescue only Tatum was placed at risk due to behavioral concerns; Although he has shown some improvement, Tatum remains overall aloof and fearful during his interactions in the care center. Due to these observations, combined with the intensity of his resource guarding behavior, we feel he would be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced rescue partner who can help manage these behaviors and decompress in a more stable environment, prior to seeking permanent placement. Tatum was diagnosed with Alopecia and Dermatitis. My medical notes are... Weight: 52.2 lbs Vet Notes 8/12/2019 Your newly adopted pet has been diagnosed with dermatitis and the staff veterinarians are issuing a TEMPORARY waiver from the spay/neuter requirements of the City of NY. Follow up care at your regular veterinarian is recommended to ensure continued treatment through to the resolution of the issue. At the time of a full recovery you may choose to have your veterinarian perform the spay/neuter surgery, or make provisions to return the pet to ACC for sterilization. 8/12/2019 DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: ~ 3 years Microchip noted on Intake? Animals, Apparently, and Butt: Srihe Du 6025 Friendly and adorable Spike may look like a serious chap but he has a sunny personality-is easy to handle on leash and happily playful in the yard. Spike will make the perfect playmate and a wonderful partner for just chilling out on the couch, too. 43 63 Manhattan 2 ys ld TO BE KILLED 6/29/19 *** A $500 stipend will be offered to the New Hope partner that pulls Spike 56025.*** Get ready to goof around with Spike~ Friendly and Adorable Spike Wants to Win Your Heart Over <3 ~ A volunteer writes: Spike is ready to smile! He may look like a serious chap when you first meet, but take the time to play, pet and get to know him and he'll be sunny side up in a jiffy. We had so much fun on our first date, leisurely strolling around the block while Spike sniffed every snowbank and tree, then joyfully playing with toys indoors. He's the best of both worlds, a consummate gentleman and easy to handle on leash and a happy, play-bowing loon off leash. For an active family looking for the perfect playmate, Spike definitely fits the bill, but he'd make a wonderful partner for just chilling out on the couch, too. Seemingly house trained and ready to come, sit and stay for treats, he's smart and eager to please. So if you're keen to teach, he'll be happy to learn. As open-hearted as he is with us humans, Spike can be very selective with his four-legged playmates, so a home where he'll be able to settle in as your only pet before any new introductions are made (one-on-one, no dog parks, please) would be best. Meet this handsome boy at our Manhattan Care Center today! Another volunteer writes: Sweet Spike loves to play! ACC long-timer and fetch-n-snuggle superstar Spike is my favorite boyfriend at ACC and how he’s still not been scooped up by a new family is a mystery to me and everyone else who loves him. Spike arrived at the shelter on Feb 28 and aside from a very short adoption from which he was returned for playing too boisterously, he’s been waiting there ever since. Many dogs would succumb to depression or act out after so long in a cage but not our Spike. He’s just as affectionate, silly and tail-waggingly happy as ever and every date we have I fall even deeper under his spell. Spike is recommended for an only-dog home at this time but the more people to love, the better. This deserving boy is eager to find a true forever family who’ll love him as much as we all do, please share him far and wide! Other Notes: Spike is reported to be mouthy in the home, nipping playfully at people. SHELTER ASSESSMENT SUMMARIES - Date of assessment: 3-Mar-2019 Leash Walking Strength and pulling: None Reactivity to humans: None Reactivity to dogs: None Leash walking comments: None Sociability Loose in room (15-20 seconds): Moderately social Call over: Approaches with coaxing Sociability comments: Jumps up socially when approaches, body soft Handling Soft handling: Accepts contact Exuberant handling: Accepts contact Comments: Body soft, stands still Arousal Jog: Follows (loose) Arousal comments: None Knock: Approaches (loose) Knock Comments: None Toy: No response Toy comments: None PLAYGROUP NOTES - DOG TO DOG SUMMARIES: Due to sudden rapid escalation, a single dog residence is recommended for Spike at this time, until behavior around dogs can be followed up on outside of the shelter environment. 3/1: When introduced off leash to a female greeter dog, Spike initially attempts to mount, but when solicited with play, he engages in bouncy play. 3/2-3/3: Spike engages in running and bouncy play with male and female dogs. 3/4: When solicited with play, Spike growls, snaps, and pursues the other dog while continuing to growl and snap. IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:5/9 While Spike remains social outside of his kennel, he was observed to redirect when being moved throughout the kennel as he was reacting to the other dogs in passing. Spike was observed to mouth handler's wrist and arm. Spike has not displayed any on leash reactivity towards other animals outside of being moved throughout the kennels in the care center. The behavior team feels this behavior may be shelter specific as a result of Spike's overall level of stress and frustration being kenneled at this time. While at the Care Center, Spike has been an active participant in ACC's BouroughBreak program. On one occasion, Spike went to Central Park, on another occasion, he went to Randall's Island. He went on a hike, played with toys and saw horses. His handlers described him as 'popular', 'adventurous', and 'playful'. However, in shelter, Spike's level of stress and frustration has been displayed through reactivity towards other dogs and on one occasion was observed to redirect onto the handler, mouthing the handler's wrist and arm. Spike has not displayed any on leash reactivity towards other animals outside of being moved throughout the kennels in the care center. 6/22: Spike was being fitted for a harness to go on a Borough Break when he grabbed the handlers forearm in his mouth and would not let go. The handlers offered toys and treats but he would not release until an auditory interrupter was used. Significant bruising and red marks were left on the arm. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: NEW HOPE ONLY Behavior Asilomar H - Healthy Recommendations: No young children (under 5) Single-pet home Recommend no dog parks Recommendations comments: Single pet/no dog parks: See DOG-DOG. No young children: Due to being mouthy in his previous home, we recommend a home without young children. Older children who are comfortable around large, jumpy dogs should have an in-depth interaction prior to adoption. Placed with a New Hope partner: While Spike continues to display social behavior with handlers in the care center, he has become increasingly challenging to manage and appears to be at high risk for deterioration. When overstimulated, Spike quickly escalates to jumping up high repeatedly towards handlers, mouthing hard (see "in-shelter observations") and is unable to readily recover therefore we advise safe and appropriate management. Due to the intensity of the behaviors observed, we feel that Spike may be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced rescue partner who can assess his behavior after decompression/acclimation in a new home environment before permanent placement. Force-free, reward-based training only is advised. Potential challenges: Basic manners/poor impulse control Mouthiness/poor bite inhibition Low threshold for arousal Potential challenges comments: Spike is reported to be active and jumpy with people, in a playful manner. Please see handout on Basic Manners. Spike is has been observed to be extremely mouthy in the care center, the behavior intensifies as Spike becomes excited/overstimulated. Please see handout on Mouthiness. While being fitted for a harness, Spike appeared to have become over-aroused and mouthed handler's arm hard; Spike was reported to not release without use of auditory interrupter, this resulted in bruising and red marks. Please see handout on Arousal. MEDICAL EXAM NOTES 29-Mar-2019 Progress Exam SO Volunteer noted 2 sores on P anus. P has been scooting / dragging butt on ground. Being Alone, Apparently, and Bad: Rambo Some, social, affectionate, housetrained, kid and cat friendly Neutered & Ready to start life anew With U! 58733 years old 50 bs Egg-specially Cute At ACC hoping Brookyn For a Second Chance **** TO BE KILLED - 4/6/2019 **** DOGS HAVE THAT INNATE SIXTH SENSE AND THEY KNOW WHEN SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN. Especially something bad. Like Sunday, March 31st... Rambo had a bad feeling and he jumped up on his owner and pawed at his wrist to let his owner know as they entered the lobby of the local shelter. It didn't work though. His owner signed him over to the shelter staff, told them they had no time for a pet and said Rambo is "kid and cat friendly, affectionate and housetrained" and exited the building, leaving his loyal companion behind forever. Fast forward four days and this young man has been added to the euth list, scheduled to die in 18 hours if he doesn't have a new home to go to. Rambo certainly doesn't deserve to die because his former owner no longer had time for him. He's just a year old, just starting life, and young enough to still be shaped and molded into your idea family pet with lots of love, reassurance and proper training. We know there has to be someone/a family out there with room in their heart and home for a handsome, young dude like Rambo. Please help us share him to the moon and back to catch the eye of that special person. Housetrained:: Yes Energy level/descriptors:: Rambo is described as affectionate and excitable with a very high level of energy. Summary:: Since Rambo's admission to the care center on 3/31/19, his behavior has remained highly fearful and he is wary of all handling. Upon attempts to rope him and bring him outside of his kennel for walks and interactions, Rambo attempts to flee, runs to the back of his kennel and urinates. During his walks, he is overly alert and pulls on the leash in an attempt to flee when he hears any loud noises. Collaring Rambo took several attempts, as he continuously avoided the collar and would not settle. During an interaction with caretakers, handlers and staff, Rambo was brought into the assessment room and was unable to settle or relax, but was easily startled by any noises and sudden movements. These observations are indicative of a very high level of fearfulness and stress. To eliminate the risk of increasing Rambo's stress level any further, along with the risk of redirecting the stress onto a handler or another animal in our care, we will not be conducting a handling assessment for Rambo at this time. Summary:: According to Rambo's previous owner, Rambo did not socialize with other dogs while in their care. Here at the Care Centers, Rambo has shown fearful behavior and avoidance. He briefly has shown interest in greeting but quickly fled when the other barked at him. The 4/2: We were unable to safely collar Rambo today. He was giving us clear distance increasing signs that he was very uncomfortable- whale eye, head flipping, attempting to flee. He did greet a novel male through the gate and moved away as quickly as possible. 4/3: After successfully collaring Rambo, he was introduced to a novel female dog. He tucked his tail and body when she greeted him but was tolerant. Rambo avoided the greeter for the rest of the session. 4/4: Rambo initially was moving towards greeting the novel female dog, but she barked he fled and kept his distance. Summary (1):: Rambo engages in play with tennis balls. Summary (2):: In Shelter Observations (Continued): 4/4/19: Upon approaching Rambo's kennel, he stood up and displayed a low wagging tail while walking forward toward the kennel door. His head was low, but he allowed the handler to place the rope around his neck with minimal flinching. The handler was able to walk him outside of the room and into the play pens for his interaction. Although Rambo displayed some wariness and was easily startled by loud noises, he engaged in play within moments of entering the pens, retrieving tennis balls, exploring and checking in with the handler. He had moments where he was able to settle and display an entirely loose and wiggly body while chasing the tennis balls, but would quickly revert to a tense posture, forward ears and high tail with loud noises. Rambo was also observed to solicit attention and seek contact, while leaning into the handler. At the end of his interaction, he was roped with ease and without flinching. The handler was able to walk him back into the care center and into his kennel without any pulling Date of intake:: 3/31/2019 Summary:: Anxious, pacing, jumps up, no handling performed, hard bark and growl at entering staff Date of initial:: 3/31/2019 Summary:: Muzzled, vocal, hyperactive, attempting to flee, resists handling, jumping up toward exit ENERGY LEVEL:: We are unable to accurately determine Rambo's energy level due to his high level of fearfulness observed in the care center. IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: 4/2/19: Rambo was laying in the front of his kennel when the handler approached. Upon opening the kennel door, Rambo stood up and showed fearful body language (low head, tucked tail, whale eye) and attempted to move toward the back of his kennel. The handler was able to introduce the rope and place it over Ramob's head, but he did flinch once the rope made contact. Rambo walked out of his kennel and room without issue and very minimal pulling. The handler took Rambo outside for his relief walk and Rambo was easily startled by cars driving by and any other loud noises. During the walk, Rambo encountered a staff member outside of the facility and approached readily with a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail. He jumped up onto the staff member and licked her hand. After his walk, Rambo was brought into a room for an interaction. During his interaction, Rambo was able to slowly acclimate and accepted some contact. After a few more minutes, his tail was untucked and he engaged in play with some tennis balls. Staff members knocked and entered the room, at which point Rambo reverted back to displaying fearful behavior, but was able to recover very slowly. He readily accepted treats with a very soft mouth. Handler was able to rope Rambo and bring him back to his kennel without any issue. 4/3/19: Rambo was laying down in his kennel upon approach and displayed low body posture when opening the kennel door. The handler was able to introduce the rope slowly, which Rambo initially avoided and flinched when it made contact with his neck. Rambo slowly exited his kennel and began to hard pull once outside of his room, moving toward the nearest exit. After his relief walk, wherein he was startled by loud noises and passing cars, he was brought back in the room for an interaction. Rambo was able to acclimate in less time overall and began to engage in play with the handler. He was also observed to understand the cue for "sit" and "give paw". After a few more minutes, Rambo was loose and wiggly and would play bow with handler. Another staff member entered the room and Rambo quickly reverted back to fearful behavior and became wary of interacting. It took about 7-8 minutes before Rambo was able to decompress and become comfortable with the staff member in the room before engaging in play once more. At the end of his interaction, the handler was able to rope him and walk him to his kennel with Rambo pulling moderately. BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: New Hope Only Behavior Asilomar: TM - Treatable-Manageable Recommendations:: No children (under 13),Place with a New Hope partner Recommendations comments:: No children (under 13): Due to Rambo's overall level of fearfulness and potential for defensive aggression, we feel he would be best set up to succeed in an adult only home at this time. Place with a New Hope partner: Due to Rambo's high level of fearfulness, the staff's inability to safely handle him without extreme caution, and his reported resource guarding in a previous home environment, it is recommended that Rambo would be best set up to succeed if placed with an experienced New Hope Partner to help manage this behavior. Rambo should be allowed to acclimate and decompress at his own pace in a more stable environment prior to permanent placement in an adult only home. We advise safe and appropriate management when handling Rambo, as well as utilizing guidance from a qualified, professional trainer/behaviorist. Force-free, reward based training only is advised when introducing or exposing Rambo to new and unfamiliar situations. Potential challenges: : Handling/touch sensitivity,Fearful/potential for defensive aggression Potential challenges comments:: Handling/touch sensitivity: Rambo has exhibited handling sensitivity during his interactions in the care center. Although Rambo has shown some improvement and allows some staff members to handle him with extreme caution, he has not been observed to completely settle during his interactions and flinches with initial contact. Rambo was observed to move away from handlers, avoid eye contact and was easily startled by sudden movements. Please refer to the handout on Handling/touch sensitivity. Fearful/potential for defensive aggression: Rambo has exhibited a very high level fearfulness overall during her interactions in the care center. He was observed to escalate to growling and lunging at staff members. Although Rambo has shown some improvement and allows some staff members to handle him with extreme caution, he has not been observed to completely settle during his interactions and flinches with initial contact. Rambo has also been observed to display wariness and is easily startled by loud noises or sudden movements. Please refer to the handout on Fearful/potential for defensive aggression. Children, Complex, and Dogs: happiness starts her Obrooklyn acc Waifin 55635-3 years old, 50 lbs Dowy Adorable irl with a BIG SMILE, social, super sweet. , Social, Super sWeef fun, smart, knows some commands, loves toys treats! **** TO BE KILLED - 3/2/2019 **** SWEET, SOCIAL DORY WITH THE BEST SMILE EVER <3 A volunteer writes: Dory's face is so expressive that she looks like she jumped right out of a claymation cartoon and her tail basically never stops wagging -- what an endearing little peanut!!! She's super friendly but tends to get caught up in all the excitement of being around people, forget her manners and become a mouthy jumping bean! The good news is her love for people is matched by a love for toys and treats -- super helpful for when she is saying "I love you!" with her teeth! And she's one smart cookie: she already knows "sit" and "down" (and sometimes "paw" too!). She lights up at the sight of any toy (perfect for getting her energy out) and brings them along when she props her paws on me or crawls into my lap to solicit affection. She always makes lovey dovey eyes, does the cutest head tilts in history, and oozes sweetness! Please check her out at Brooklyn ACC! IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: During a walk through the hallway, Dory was being handed off to another ACS staff member, at which time she began to resist walking into the room with the new handler. She pancaked to the floor and rolled over onto her back. As the first staff member attempted re-approach her, she attempted to snap and stood back up with low and tense body posture. The first staff member reached out to try and handle her once more and she attempted to snap a second time before other handlers were able to intervene and redirect Dory's behavior.
