I’m also ADHD/PI and autistic, I used to be medicated. The difference’s that autistic “treatments“ have the explicit goal of making us neurotypical-passing (either that or they’re pseudoscience that tries to “cure” it) and training us out of neurodivergent behaviour. It has the same roots of gay conversion therapy and a high likelihood of post-traumatic stress. ABA theraphy and the like aren’t meant to help you function or make your day-to-day life easier, they focus on assimilating neurotypical behavior and making us “indistinguishable from peers”.

A question for ADHD neurodivergents

I have ADHD(innatentive), and I’m medicated for it. I am also autistic.

I know that in the autistic community, we don’t want treatments or cures that change our neurological patterns.

I was wondering, is it similar in the ADHD community? What’s your stance on stimulants like adderall?

I’ve been taking ADHD meds for my entire life, and I’ve found that they really help me stay on track. I can also totally understand if some feel like these stimulants change too many of their natural thought process.
