LOOOVVVEE your fan design. if you don’t mind me asking, is there any specific things you designed or included in his gijinka that you have reasons for? i love hearing about design choices foreverrrrr and everrrrr,, and yeah he looks super silly and so fan! so fan!

okay uhhmm lesseeeee when i make humanizations i kinda look at the shapes first? uhhmmm like fan's hair is spikey on top like his asset. aaaaand silver's hair is a braid bc it has a spoon shape!! sooo imma go down the line and point some things out

fan!!! fan is one of the core bright lights so his design has been through many iterations by me, from 2018 onward. something that's pretty consistent is the zip up hoodie!!! i thought that was a good way to mimic him folding up. i also had him have little raccoon tails framing his face like the uhmmm yellow thingamabobs, yknow? and also mimicking that are some hair barrettes. aaannddd i gave him a bit of scruff cause he's a transman to me and i think he'd be proud of any facial hair. aaaaannnddd!!!! he has a little matching earring w test tube!! to me its like a wedding ring? platonic or romantic--whatever u believe for them :3

candle's dreads are meant to mimic her melty-ness. aaaand actually she has a third eye piercing that's covered by it. uhmbbbb her style is veryyyy pintrest-y. its based off of the clothing selection at my local boho store

silver is a cunt. uhmmm very simply i gave him a beauty mark because he's cunty aaaaand spoon shaped hair, slim body, high collar. i made his face oval shaped like his spoon head. aaaanddd i gave him a little swoopy bang to mimic the shine/shadow he's got. also!! i gave him rings and junk.

Parents who aren’t perfect and make many mistakes, but still love their kids SO MUCH is SUCH a good thing. God I love to see it.

Malady inside my Soul - c1rcu1t - Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Cartoon 2018) [Archive of Our Own] This was the only attack I got, and it satisfied everything I wanted! I have a headcanon that Leo suffered from hallucinations/psychosis after the Prison Dimension, and I wanted to see how people would interpret that- and my god did this deliver well! Thank you so much again, this was wonderful!!

Pressure Release - languajix - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TV 2003) [Archive of Our Own] I may have yet to actually watch 2003 in full, but I HAVE watched “Same As It Never Was” and holy shit did this deliver an aftermath to that episode that I desperately craved. 10/10 amazing fic!

Dandy always has a way of amazing me with her writing, and this definitely was no different! I love the thought of “Draxum made the turtles to destroy humanity, then Leo almost did” so this fanfic was just. Perfect, amazing, great prompt and great work!

And Suddenly, it was Too Much - RealityBreakGirl - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TV 2003) [Archive of Our Own] once again 2003 and SAINW breaking my heart. Like Pressure Release, definitely satisfied the craving I had of seeing the aftermath of that DEVASTATING episode. ADORED this work so much

You can't order a poem like you order a taco. Walk up to the counter, say, "I'll take two" and expect it to be handed back to you on a shiny plate.

Still, I like your spirit. Anyone who says, "Here's my address, write me a poem," deserves something in reply. So I'll tell you a secret instead: poems hide. In the bottoms of our shoes, they are sleeping. They are the shadows drifting across our ceilings the moment before we wake up. What we have to do is live in a way that lets us find them.

Once I knew a man who gave his wife two skunks for a valentine. He couldn't understand why she was crying. "I thought they had such beautiful eyes." And he was serious. He was a serious man who lived in a serious way. Nothing was ugly just because the world said so. He really liked those skunks. So, he reinvented them as valentines and they became beautiful. At least, to him. And the poems that had been hiding in the eyes of the skunks for centuries crawled out and curled up at his feet.

Maybe if we reinvent whatever our lives give us we find poems. Check your garage, the odd sock in your drawer, the person you almost like, but not quite. And let me know.

if there’s one thing you need to know about me (this is a deep cut in ginger lore) i am the biggest waiting room stan, okay? i’m writing a literary analysis on it like…. it quite literally changed the trajectory of my life

i truly love each of the boys solo discographies, i found phoebe first thru my best friend and then julien and then lucy. i didn’t start really listening to julien until 2018 i was late to the game but after the ep came out i followed them all closely!

Thank you!!! I dont think im any good either, i look at my old art and i cringe and then i wonder how much i will hate my current art one day. I think, finally, in my *thirties* im starting to accept that this feeling will never go away and i cant let it shame me out of drawing. (also pls dont let my feelings about it stop anyone from reblogging or liking my old art on here! I really enjoy that as painful as it is. Someone liked one of my steve aoki sketches from like 2018 the other day and i got sO EXCTIted like omg that drawing is terrible but also someone liked my steve aoki art! (a rarity)). If you look through my wip tag: freebooter4ever.tumblr.com/tagged/wip there should be lots of process stuff and then one post where i talk about the old art i have on here. Im determined to keep everything up no matter how much i hate it bc i know how much it means to me to see more experienced artists' old works. It made the leap from scribbles to 'oh that actually looks like what i was trying for' seem less impossible.

My dad -bless his soul- has only ever kept one drawing of mine: a drawing contest entry from when i was like 4 yrs old. It was of Putt-Putt (from Putt Putt's Parade) and i won, lol. This was back when art was 'aw so cute' and not 'you're fucking ruining your engineering career'. My dad also kept putting me in art classes so he really only has himself to blame for how things turned out. for art internet stuff? I was really REALLY into neop*ets - I idolized artists like Quest, Sithel, IndigoKitten, all those old comics artists in The Aisha Pack. I was also obsessed with the Legend of Zelda drawing style - it was kind of a combo of d*sney and anime - big eyes and crazy flowing hair but with that 3D illusion of life. Aaaaand then there was Arc*hie Comics. I did more fanart of those characters than anything else back then. And lastly D*sney of course. I desperately wanted to be walt for years until i grew up enough to realize that one man didnt draw an entire 2hr full length feature. I was crushed by this revelation, naturally.

And I know most artists are like ‘yeah i was a horse girl when i was in middle school’. But that wasn't me. I was obsessed with fir trees instead. just constant drawings of fir trees. I was really proud when i leveled up and learned how to draw fir trees in SNOW, this was the highlight of my middle school drawing career. I dunno, i was a weird kid. Growing up in the pacific northwest it was either fir trees or salmon i guess.

My... arrival to SCM was a strange one, actually. I didn’t come here for any of the gods themselves. It all began in 2018! I'd never played an otome game before in my life. All I was really searching for was something interesting to read either scifi, fantasy, or action based.

Aaaaand at the time I was exploring fandoms other than Star Wars that I grew up with but I was neck deep into Marvel and absolutely in love with my Asgardian gods, Thor and Loki. My brOTP before I knew what a brOTP was. So the Norse god of mischief definitely had influence over my search. I wanted to read some Loki fanfic but without the “fanfic” part.

So, as I was searching for something to read, I saw a picture of this man. Long black hair that was slicked back, mischievous smirk, and he was a god. Such a Loki character. So I downloaded Love 365 for the first time just to see this godly-Asgardian-looking piece of art. I wanted to know more about this off-brand Loki I’d just found.

Keep in mind I never played an otome game and this was my first time even trying. I didn't understand what was happening. I was trying to get to Tauxolouve's route becuase LOKI. But as any normal and sane person would do, I wanted to start at the beginning of the story so I could understand what was going on. But every time I would press the season one prologue all these other dudes were popping up in the story to choose from BUT NOT LOKI. And it took me a hot minute to realize one set of 6 guys was season one and the other set of 6 guys was season two. I don't know how much life I wasted trying to figure that out...

Then I had the alternative problem of "I can only read... One episode? How am I supposed to read about this Loki-looking god?” And that’s literally what I called him. I just referred to him as another Loki for the longest time. I was like “…His name is… Lou? That starts with an L; Loki starts with an L. Close enough.”

But, yeah, straight off the bat, Tauxolouve is the reason I'm here today. 🥰

But as for whose main story I fully read first, it was Leon. Not because I picked him, but because he was free. 😝 But I fell in love with him anyway, so it worked out. Then like a week later Huedhaut was free and I read his and I CRIED. And I then became attached to my zodiacs without any further influence from Marvel. And then it came out on switch and I DESPERATELY PURCHASED A SWITCH JUST SO I COULD HAVE ALL OF THEM. I needed to read all of the boys who never got the chance to be free on the 365 app! (I also wanted to marry Leo after I saw that CG of MC pointing a KNIFE at him!!!! THREATEN THE MIGHTY GODS!!!)

I know I came to this fandom because of Lou but I honestly sadly think he might've been one of the last three that I read all because he was a season 2 god. 😅

And now, I gotta biasedly call Dui my favorite because we're Gemini twinsies and I love him and my Shadow Dui very much!! 💖💖 and shadow tried to kill me a couple times. I love angst~

But Leo really was my first guy. 💕 My first zodiac, my first boyfriend, my first to take my virginity, my first god I tried to stab, my first father of my child, and my first husband. (He was the Minister of Wishes AND the future king of the Heavens. I havehad a power-kink, can you tell?)

And so that was how I met my polyamorous zodiac gods, and we all lived happily ever after, THE END! ✨

Favorite Song From Each Country! Part 6/37: Ireland!

Aaaaand we're back with another addition to my little series! I'm posting a little earlier today since it seems like I'm actually making good time for once in my life! But that's good because who knows, maybe I can get a few future entries posted so I don't have to worry about them later! *I'd still have to hop on and update the link but that takes all but a minute of my time, I could do it while watching TV*

For New People: I've done a kinda sorta discography dive of Eurovision Songs from each of the participating 37 Countries in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest and picked a favorite for each country in the years 2009 to the present. For some, I will be sharing my favorite song from the country and then my thoughts on the 2023 entry. For others, my favorite is the 2023 entry and I just talk about the one that got overthrown! Non-participating countries may or may not be tacked at the end, after which I will have a full list of favorites from each country. I just have to decide.

Let's roll! Next up is...Ireland!

Most Eurovision fans remember learning early on in their time in the fandom that Ireland was a total POWERHOUSE before the 21st Century, being the first country to win 7 times. I have no idea what happened to them afterward (I'm a newer Eurofan, so I'm still finding my footing...plus being from the US doesn't exactly help my case), but they've been on a rough patch, only having qualified for the Grand Final TWICE in the last 10 editions (2013 and 2018). Although, hot take here: Had the 2020 Contest not been cancelled, I think Ireland could have qualified for the Grand Final. I don't know where it would have finished, but that's all "what if?" at this point.

Favorite Entry: While I did hint at the intro for yesterday's post (Portugal) which one was my favorite, I did quite the opposite for today's posts. Like a couple other countries, my favorite for Ireland bounces around between mostly 2 entries. One of them being Brooke's sassy "That's Rich" from 2022, and the other being the one I will be talking about: Molly Sterling's "Playing With Numbers" from 2015. For one thing, I love breakup songs, despite never being in a romantic relationship. What I also love is when the breakup song isn't "YOU DID THIS TO ME!" but "I'm the one that messed up. I'm sorry." Which is exactly what "Playing With Numbers" is. A lot of people I've seen agree with me that this song was ROBBED of a Grand Final Spot (as was the aforementioned "That's Rich" at least imo). RANK: 12th in 2015 Semi-Final 2 (31st Overall)/PERSONAL RANK: 6th of 40 Countries) *NOTE: "That's Rich" ranked 15th in 2022 Semi-Final 2 (34th Overall) but ranked 4th of 40 Countries personally.*

Thoughts on 2023 Entry: I would like to start off with saying that both my mom and my sister have listened to the songs this year and both liked Wild Youth's "We Are One." However, while I liked listening to it, I just felt there was something...I don't know...missing from it all. Back to being nice about this entry (because that just felt mean in my eyes), it sounds like something in a young adult coming of age movie, which is not a bad thing at all. Respectfully zooming lol, it seems like it's not a kindle but an iPad? (It has a button and I'm pretty sure kindles don't have any buttons under the sceen), also if it's reflecting something is likely a tablet, bc kindles don't reflect like that, plus they usually have a screensaver. Aaaaand I think he accidentally posted the reception number (or maybe name of the wifi connection) and the WiFi password lol. As for what it says under that I figured out something and I looked up and it seems like it's bar. I just don't feel comfortable sharing bc it may dox where he likes to go for vacation if I'm right. And under it it says (to me, again I might be wrong) hoy se juega/ bien se juega (today we play/ play fair). Obviously idk if I'm right but that's my theory lol tbh I love trying to figure things out so this was fun!!!!

Lol why would he just post a selfie with all that info on the card. Maybe he didn't realize at that time how famous he's gonna be and people will be scrounging for every detail they can lay their hands on 😂😂 (this pic is from 2018). Also don't get the sense behind hoy se juega/bien se juega? I can imagine him chilling on the hammock, basking in the sun and suddenly being like: oh let me post a little something for my fans 😉

How We Made a New Art on Old Ground A famous battle happened in this valley.                     You never understood the nature poem.   Till now. Till this moment—if these statements                    seem separate, unrelated, follow this   silence to its edge and you will hear                    the history of air: the crispness of a fern   or the upward cut and turn around of                    a fieldfare or thrush written on it.   The other history is silent: The estuary                    is over there. I know my time-flow is a bit off, so for the record, it is October 13th 2018 here, aaaaand it's my birthday.

I got a lot of mixed feelings about today. On one hand, I'm seventeen, and that's a lot of fun. On the other, today just isn't all that special compared to last year, because everyone who would celebrate with me is gone, and the best I got was a card from my Aunt Sarah with $20 inside and a phone call.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful, but it just feels lonely that she's the only person in this reality who knows that today is my birthday.

I think I'm gonna buy myself a cake at the grocery store on my way back to my apartment and do a light patrol tonight.
