“Can Janet Jackson go down on me while Michael Bublé narrates it in song?”
“What’s an Arch de Triumph?”
“It’s when two dudes go down on us, is how I picture it, and they’re butt to butt and then you and I do Oprah hands.”
“I really don’t feel like going into work today.”
"Great, I’ll see you in 30 days then. . . biiiiitch.”

“Dude, I would follow you into hell, brother!”
“Well, you are funny.”
"Animated movies are where it's at. They're like visual crack."

"I mean, the female form---God's hottest creation."
"You have to respect the sanctity of the RSVP."
"Okay, something seems very locked up inside of you."
"You have a way of tainting everything I love."
"I'm gonna be like a successful artist any day now."
"Yeah, I don't wanna rise and grind anymore. I wanna rise and then like lay back down."
"It's like we knew it would happen but we didn't do anything about it."
"ADRENALINE!"
"To be honest, I'm really happy with the way I look."
"WANNA FOOK?"
"Never have I ever read a newspaper."
"This is what living on the edge looks like."

My head was pounding and the room seemed like it was spinning. I blinked rapidly and attempted to stand, but the action seemed incredibly challenging. I wound up groaning and whining instead.
"Ooooooh yayayayaya." a voice stabbed through my ears.
I let out a moan, "Yaaaaaaa why are you so loud?!"
The same voice chuckled with its entire thick face. I blinked in the intense light of the room amd tried to prop myself up on my arms. Someone moved to close the curtains and I breathed out a sigh of relief. Upon seeing the figure, I figured out it was- "Jinyoung?"
He sat down next to me, and at this point, I could properly see his face. I felt like a train wreck. The bed dipped down a bit on Jinyoung's side.
"Did you think Mark would nurse you back to health? Mark Tuan?" Jinyoung spoke, giving me a glass of water and a pill.
I looked at it and groaned, lying back down on my bed, breathing heavily. I was about to defend Mark, but my headache was daring me to test it.
"Yaaaa, astronomer, you should get up if you don't want to die."
My brows knit deeply at his ringing voice. Also, did he just call me astronomer?
"Ya," he shoved me on the shoulder which made me wince.
"YA-a." I screamed back but regret doing so jusy after.
"Get up! If you don't want to drink, you should at least brush your teeth, swampwoman."
I rolled my eyes at him with such intensity.
Jinyoung sat there and stared at me for a moment as I contemplated living. Suddenly then, I realized that I was in an oversized shirt and not in that dress I was wearing yesterday. I sat up quickly in panic, yet again fully regretting it with a groan. I placed hand on my head and mumbled under my breath, "Where's my dress? Did you change me?"
"Actually, you did that yourself. The moment your drunk ass realized you were home," Jinyoung chuckled, "you took your dress off and got a shirt, passing out immediately."
I tilted my head to the side, "So you watched me strip?"
"A-ani." Jinyoung's cheeks turned pink, "I looked away."
I shook my head, in no mood to argue, and shrugged, moving to the edge of my bed and trailing off to my bathroom. I stretched all the way to my toilet, and went wide eyed when I realized... I wasn't wearing any pants. I cursed under my breath but opted to just roll with it.
Once I had used the toilet and brushed my teeth, I peeked out to my bedroom and saw Jinyoung was gone.
I huffed and went to get my towel and some clothes. I went back into the bathroom and took a shower.
After getting the smell of alcohol off me, I wore a sweater and some shorts, my hair was wrapped up in a towel. Suddenly, a wave of hunger rumbled in my belly as I smelled something outside mh bedroom.
Jinyoung was chatting to Nari, who was laughing a little to loud for my head. I scrunched my face in distaste. "Can you both be any louder?"
Nari looked at me, "Yeah, just like when I get hungover and your little boyfriend flirts with you, it's not like you're considerate enough to tone down your giggles for your poor roomate."
Jinyoung shuffled in his spot and Nari laighed once again.
I shoved her once I got close enough, making her whine and shove me back. I rolled my eyes as I got a bowl of the obvious hangover soup waiting for me. I sat on the stool next to her as Jinyoung leaned his hands on the island in front of us.
"Anyway, I have to get going," Nari spoke, hopping her seat, "Mr. Choi awaits."
"You don't even have his class, Nari," Jinyoung snickered.
"Well you know, it's a small university."
"Nari, it's about a hun-" "A SMALL UNIVERSITY!" Nari shouted, making me whip my head to her and kick her. She laughed as she ran off and I sighed in relief once she was gone.
Jinyoung's eye crinckled.
I was eating silently.
"What are you doing here anyway?"
He cackled, "Waaaaaaaaah. How ungrateful. I bring you home and take care of you and you ask me that? Wah."
I looked at him and bit my lower lip out of habit. Why was he so happy today? His face was glowing because of the sunshine on his skin, and yet it didn't seem like it was why his face was so bright.
I stared at him up until I forgot about my soup.
"Ya." Jinyoung chuckled, "I know I'm pretty but this is getting weird."
I blinked.
"Yaa, finish your soup so we can go."
I pulled my head back upon hearing that, "What? Go where?"
"On a date."
My eyes widened, "A d-- m-mwo?"
Jinyoung crossed his arms and sighed, "Ya, you were the one that insisted last night. It was kinda sad how desperate you were."
My jaw slackened and I started to stammer. However, I threw a spoon at Jinyoung when he started to laugh.
"You dumb hoe!" I chucked out as he turned red with amusement.
"Your face!"
"Mwo, mwo, mwo? What about my pretty face?!"
Jinyoung chuckled and nodded, "Araso, it is pretty." I froze in my place. He moved to my side, "Why do you think I'm asking you if it wasn't, pabo?"
My heart was pounding just as much as my head at this point.
"Ya..." he poked my shoulder, "don't just look at me and reject me silently."
I opened my mouth but I couldn't say anything.
Jinyoung clenched his jaw at this point, "B-but that is..." he cleared his throat and twitched his nose, "y'know, you should only go with me-- only if you want to."
It was my turn to chuckle. I then bubbled into a full laugh at this point. Jinyoung straightened up. "Kure," I breathed out, chuckling, "but you're paying."
Tumblr media
I groaned and hid my head under the pillow at the sound of my phone ringing. Why the hell was it going off. There was no sunlight and wasn't it Saturday? It was Saturday! I had no classes yesterday and went on a date with...
I opened my eyes.
I went on a date with Jinyoung.
I broke into a wide grin and shrieked at the memory. He took me ice skating! And we went to a karaoke booth!
He... he held my hand-
THAT DAMN ALARM HAS GOT TO DIE!
Wait...
If it's Saturday...
Then that means...
I shot up off my bed and ran to my phone which I remembered to purposely put in my bathroom.
“YA, KILL THAT ALARM OR I WILL KILL YOU!” Nari shouted, angry and tired.
“Mianheeeeeeeee!” I called and turned off my phone. I looked at the time and saw it was 7:35.
I huffed and headed to the bathroom, fussing to get ready. Jackson was gonna be here in less than thirty minutes.
I ran into the bathroom and took a shower. After I debated on whether or not I should wear something nice. I mean, I was going to get dressed up by Jackson anyway, but… to hell with it. I still have that bright yellow, leather skirt stashed somewhere. I’ve never found a reason to wear it so today will be the day. With some sneakers and a graphic shirt, I could always say I just pulled out whatever if he wasn’t expecting me to dress up.
Right. That makes sense.
And on the dot, 8 o'clock, there was one quick honk from outside. It took once glance for me to be reassured thay there was indeed an expensive vehicle parked in front of thid shabby dorm. I put on some lip balm and got my purse from the other day, slipping my phone in this time around before heading out.
On my way down, I recieved a call.
I stopped on my tracks ans smiled, “Ye, Jinyoungie.” I spoke, sprinting down the stairs, with a smile from ear to ear.
“Good morning. Did you sleep well?”
I chuckled and hummed, “I had so much fun yesterday.”
“Ah, jinjja?” he mused from the other side, “I did too.”
At this point, I was outside my building, walking towards Jackson’s car who waved at me. I waved back.
“Listen, I got to go.” I spoke as I jogged to the passenger seat of the Audi.
Jinyong froze, “… Wae?”
“You know me, I have to sleep til afternoon when I can.”
Jinyoung, from not too far, clenched his phone and scoffed out a chuckle.
I got into the car at this point.
“Ahh, so you don’t have any plans but to sleep?” Jinyoung nearly hissed but held himself back. It took twice as much self-control for him not to run towards that damn black car in front of him.
“Yup. Just me and my bed.” I spoke, putting on my seatvelt.
“Ah… so we can’t hang put today?
My heart hammered in my chest. I turned to Jackson, who turned to me, puckering his lips out in an adorbale manner, mouthing out a ‘who is that’. I shook my head at him, "Maybe next time.”
“… whatever.” Jinyoung hung up at this point.
“Waahhhh, so you’re telling me you didn’t send me the pictures of you in that green dress I bpught you because of your boyfriend?”
My heart jumped into my mouth and I turned to the man shaking his head as he looked and drove forward.
He sucked in air through teeth, “Ya, that’s a violation of our contract.” I stiffened in my seat and Jackson turned to me, “Now I have to kill you.”
I choked, “M-mwo?”
Jackson turned to me and smiled, “I’m kiddiiiiing. I don’t care if you have an actual relationship put of us.”
Upon glacing my way, he burst into laughter, “Wah, I can’t believe you fell for that!” That was the final straw. I punched his shoulder hard, hard enough that it sounded like one of those generic sound effects.
Jackson whined while he chuckled and rubbed his shoulder. “Yaaaaaaa, did you do boxing when you were younger or something?”
He then turned to me and chuckled, ruffling my hair up. “AIGOOO, KYOOOO!”
I growled and shrugged him off.
“What’s his name? -or her, whichever way you swing.”
I raised my brows at that and chuckled begrudedly, “He’s not my boyfriend…”
Jackson smiled, “Hmmm, not yet. And that’s not what I asked.
I blew air in my cheeks. "Jinyoung.”
“Well, as long as, publicly, I’m the only one you date and keep your Jinyoungie under wraps, I really don’t care. But, y'know, not in a like mean way. But, like, I don’t care, so… don’t tell me about him.”
I broke into an airy laugh. “Okay, Jackson.”
The rest of the drive was anti-climactic, thankfully for me.
We arrived at this hotel and went in through the back. It was an extremely tall building that was gold with all the lights on it. Even this back door was so fancy, if we hadn’t passed the front portion of this place, I would’ve thought it was the main entrance.
We were greeted by a guard. Jackson smiled and caught my hand, promptly surprising me. He lead me into this room that seemed like it would lead to a janitor’s closet, but actually lead to this grand room with a chandellier and a flat screen TV.
“Finally,” a bubbly woman spoke, “is this her?”
“Ooooooooh, I’m so happy for you. Jackson says he has a girlfriend all the time as an excuse, and I thought it would be one of those times,” she gushed grasping my shoulders, “But boy am I happy I’m wrong.”
Jackson chuckled, “Okay, focus Hani.”
“Right,” she giggled, “come on, pick a dress.”
She lead me to a rack with many, many, many dresses with various bright, pastel, neutral colors with different designs. “Choose anything you like. Oh, and by the way, I will be your stylist for whenever you need me. My name’s Hani.”
I smiled and nodded, introducing myself.
“I know, silly. Jackson told me about you, but not nearly enough, so we have to hangout sometime, okay.”
I nodded. Then, I began to walk around, brushing my hands against the fabric of the dresses.
A phone began to ring.
“Ah, I have to take this,” Jackson blurted. “Take care of her, Hani.”
“Of course.” she replied.
My breath stopped at the sight of a peachy floral dress.
Hani walked up next to me. “I guess we have a winner.”
I turned to her, reluctant. She knit her brows, “Mmm, what’s wrong?
"Won’t it be too much?”
Hani threw her head back in laughter, “For the likes of Jackson Wang, not nearly.”
Literally, the party of Gatsby, picture that. This is what was before me.
Jackson linked arms with me and stroked my hand. “You got this.” he muttered. Just then an incoming over-accessoried man waved widely, seeminlgy out of character.
“Jackson! You made it bro!” a silver haired man cheerrd, pulling the man I was next to into a tight hug, separating us.
“I wouldn’t miss this for the world, bro.” the dark haired man replied, making his friend snicker loudly against the background music.
“Big bullshit, Wang. I can’t believe you’re lyinging in front of your girl on her debut. You know even I’m only here because I lost all excuses. At least Mrs. Cha throws great parties.” he said, turning to me, smirking.
“The name’s Bambam, babe.” he gave a lopsided smile, making Jackson slap his shoulder quite firmly.
Bambam shrugged him off and I gave a smile, saying my name in return.
“Pretty, just like you.” Bambam winked.
Jackson shoved him aside, “Wah, strike two. You wanna see what happens the third time?”
The man in a black, thin striped suit raised his hands in surrender and chuckled, “Ani, ani, ani, ani, ani. Just checking bro.” he pushed the rim of his yellow tinted glasses up the bridge of his nose. “She seems different. I would’ve seduced her this time around if she was just another fake.”
What?
My face nearly dropped, but Jackson’s loud reaction saved me. Bambam laughed and stepped back, waving his hands, “I’m happy for you, bro. Really. Your mom would be too.”
Jackson clenched his jaw and grabbed my hand, “Don’t talk about my mom so casually, Bam.”
Alarms were going off in my head. I wanted more context, yet at the same time, I wasn’t particularly excited with the idea of knowing more about this world. I wanted to, I don’t know, ask him about his mom, or, from the looks of his reaction, soothe him from a heartache… but I don’t want to imply, nor do I want to over-step, and more than that, don’t I want to overstay my welcome.
Instead, I paired my strides with his and held his hand with both my own, gaining his attention. I gave him a smile and repeated his own words, “You got this.”
With that, he turned away chuckling.
I felt warmth spiral around my shoulders.
I saw the entirety of the room from wgere we stood. We went down a flight of stairs that lead to what was a ballroom occupied with many different… exhibits. There was a live band, a bunch of acrobats, a ball pit, a large ice cream maker, a massive cake that would’ve reached the ceiling if the ceiling wasn’t so damn high, a photo booth that looked more like a photoshoot, a–
“Mr. Wang.” a woman with a thick, off-pink colored fur coat greeted, raising both her hands; her right one was holding nothing, but it seemed heavy with all the diamonds tied on it, while the left looked equally as burdened, though it was holding a crystal glass with nearly nothing left inside.
“Mrs. Cha,” Jackson nodded simply. “I give your son my congratulations.”
The woman gave a smile that didn’t really reach her eyes, as they were heavy with false lashes. Oddly enough however, even though everything about her was overdone… it suited her.
“Ye, ye.” she said impatiently, peering over to me. Jackson noticed. I gave her a smile.
“Ah, Mrs. Cha, this is my girlfriend,” Jackson said, placing a hand on my shoulder. He spoke my and so I greeted the woman.
“Mmmmm. I think I’ve heard your name before. What do you do again?”
I gave a soft smile and turned to Jackson.
“Ah, she’s still studying– business management.”
My face nearly faltered for a second time.
Did I ever tell him that was my major?
With that, she pulled back and laugh, “Ommo. Wahh. Our Jackson-ie seems like he’s really serious this time around.”
I seem to be hearing the same things about Jackson.
Mrs. Cha looked like she had a lot more to say, but suddenly a child came running, grapsing onto her leg. “Eomma, Eomma! Where’s the pony ride?!” a boy asked, rather impatienly, tugging on his mother’s dress.
“Ya, Bong-pil-ah!” she scolded, pushing the boy away and flattening out her gold dress, “I told you you won’t have a pony ride because you only scored one goal.”
“But–”
“We’re done talking about this. Run along then, eomma has to drink her mojito.”
With that, the boy pouted and ran off with a huff.
Mrs. Cha sighed, “Children. This is why I only have one.” She turned to me, though I was not addressed, “ Jackson-ie, when you two get married, remember you shouldn’t spoil your kids so much and only give them what’s due. Kure?”
Jackson nodded firmly as I felt my cheeks burn.
She pursed her lips in soft smile, “I see some other guests needing to be satisfied. See you two later, alligator.”
Once she was gone, Jackson turned to me and chuckled, “Come on, let’s walk around.”
We passed the performing band. Wait, was that Day6?
“What do you think?” Jackson asked.
I turned to him and smiled, “This is what I call a party, ya feel?”
The man beside me laughed.
I chuckled, “How old is her son turning anyway?”
“Bong-pil? It isn’t his birthday. If I recall correctly, his birthday is three-four months from now.”
I shook my head in confusion, “But isn’t Mrs. Cha the host, and didn’t she just say that she has one kid?”
Jackson chuckled, “Didn’t you hear the part where she was all like, next time score more than one goal and I’ll get you a pony ride.”
I cocked my head to side, “… wasn’t that… isn’t it a metaphor?”
“Ani. Metaphors aren’t very popular with people like us. So if someone says they’ll pay you a million for a date…” he turned to me, “or they’ll throw a party because their soccer player son scored the only goal in his team at a game they lost…”
“Waiiiiit, wait, hold up. Mrs. Cha’s son-”
Jackson chuckled and nodded.
“- Bong-pil -”
“Mmm,”
“- played a soccer game -”
“Yes,”
“- and he scored a goal -”
He raised a finger, “the only goal in his team.”
I nearly rolled my eyes. As if that was any better. “- but they still lost -”
“Mmhmm,”
“- but that was still enough to throw this party??”
“Ya, Bong-pil didn’t get a pony ride because you should give them what is due.”
At this point, Jackson and I turned to each other and laughed. I placed a hand on my forehead and huffed, “Wahhh. What a world. People are dying of starvation.”
Jackson clenched his jaw, “yes, I know.”
I huffed, “Anyway. What do we do now?”
“Anything. I’m sure at this point Mrs. Cha talked about us already, and people have been looking at us all this time.”
I knit my brows, “… so, are we going to go now?”
“Ani. We have to stay for at least an hour. You can do whatever you want in the meantime. I just have to talk to a few businessmen.”
“Wait, so you’re going to leave me?”
“I think it’d be better than to bring you along and talk about something you won’t understand, don’t you think.”
I frowned.
Jackson pursed his lips, “Go watch some magicians, get some cake. This is literally a free amusement park. Go wild.”
Upon saying this, he caressed my beck quickly and then walked off, leaving me feeling vulnerable at this point.
He disappeared into the crowd and I instantly felt uneasy. I breathed in heavily and pulled myself together. I have to seem confident, or else everything goes to hell.
I started walking around and found myself going right for the cake. I looked at the amazing delicacy and smelled from afar that it was rich chocolate. I blinked rapidly and my mouth watered.
The person in a chef’s uniform saw me and gave me a smile, “would you like a slice, agassi?”
I gulped.
I was about to nod, up until a child walked up to him and raises her plate. The chef smiled and gave the girl a slice. It was in this moment, I noticed the only once eating the cake were in the age group of 10 below. I swallowed heavily.
Would it be totally out of character to get some cake?
“If you want some, just get some.” a voice spoke from behind me. Bambam appeared beside me, “Two plates, please.”
The chef nodded with excitement and sliced up two big chucks for us.
My eyes widened and I nearly drooled.
Bambam took the plates and handed me on, “Just because only the babies are eating cake, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. The oldies are just scared of getting fat. A bunch'a cowards of you ask me.”
I laughed, so did Bambam.
We started walking wherever, “Tell me again how you two met.”
I blinked. I shouldn’t lie… should I? “I was buying a dress.”
“Wahhh, Jackson you sly dog.” Bambam chuckled. He scooped up some cake and placed it in his mouth, “How long have you been seeing each other?”
“Not very long, really.”
“What do you like about him?”
I licked my lips. My mind involuntarily trailed off to Jinyoung. I broke into a wide smile. “Ye– uh, he’s great.”
Bambam stopped in his tracks, “Shit. You’re whipped.”
I turned to him.
“Don’t.”
I knit my brows.
“He’s never taken one of his propositions seriously.”
I cocked my head to the side. “I–”
Suddenly there was a loud cry. Bambam and I, as well as the rest of the guests, turned to the literal baby crying in the middle of the room. She seemed around 1 or 2, and her face was red.
Bambam grumbled.
I whined, “Where’s he mother?”
“Drunk. Probably. Who knows, maybe they forgot about her.” Bambam replied in distaste.
After a few moments of nothing, I found myself scoffing. “Isn’t anyone gonna help her?”
“Why would they, it’s not like she’s their child.”
I raised my brows, “Wouldn’t you?!”
Bambam looked at me, unconcerned, dumbfounded.
I scoffed once more, rolling my eyes. “Hold this,” I shoved the plate towards him and jogged off to the girl.
I crouched down and scooped her up into my arms, immediately, she was pacified. I shushed and cooed at her, rocking her in my arms. “What kind of morons are these people here?” I mumbled to myself as I carried the toddler.
Just then, Jackson emerged from the crowd with a frantic old lady.
“Bu Ja-ya!” she whined, running towards me, getting the baby. “Thank you for getting her, agassi. I have been looking everywhere. I thought her mother would do this again.”
With the child in her arms, she went off, leaving me feeling awfully confused ans conflicted. Jackson walked towards me with knot brows, “wae? Why’d you do that?”
He didn’t sound like he was attacking me, and yet deep down in his confused tone, he sounde defensive.
“Literally no one was helping so I did.”
Jackson stared at me, as if his mind went offline.
Bambam raised his brows at what was before him, and chuckled in disbelief, “Shit. He’s whipped.”

—— The Prophecy. ❝  Made from fire and water, cut from the same root. There will be an apocalypse. ❞‬
January 2018. Banshin Village. Deokjeok Island, Incheon, South Korea.
It was the New Year’s Eve Party. Hosted by a tall and reddish brown haired boy, who known as Kim Yugyeom —the son of Dionysus, the seashore of Banshin Village turned into a mess —a fun kind of a mess. Everyone seemed to pretty occupied with the music, beverages, and foods. Some of them were dancing near the bonfire, some of them were enjoying talking with a drink in their hands.
Yugyeom, Bambam, and Jackson were busy dancing and wowed the girls. Meanwhile, Youngjae, JB, and Jinyoung preferred to seclude themselves from the crowd by sitting on the seashore. They were talking about the morning training when suddenly Youngjae grabbed JB’s arm tightly. His brown orbs turned yellow.
“Ouch! Youngjae-ah, waeyo? What’s wrong?” asked JB as he tried to lose Youngjae’s grip on his arm. But Youngjae’s grip was too strong, another unusual acts of Youngjae.
JB started to worry as he got no response from Youngjae. He then brought his palm on Youngjae’s cheek, gave him a gentle pat as JB tried to call Youngjae’s name. But nothing, the golden boy remained stiff and unreachable.
Jinyoung who also sat with them, remained his silence as he studied the situation. His knowledge from all books that he read, gave him an answer.
“I think he got ‘that’.” pursed his thick lips, Jinyoung stated.
JB shifted his gaze at Jinyoung. Tilted his head, he asked cluelessly. “‘That’?”
“Sight. When—“
“Made from fire and water, cut from the same root. There will be an apocalypse.”
Jinyoung’s words got interrupted by Youngjae’s, only his voice got thicker and hoarse. It didn’t sound like Youngjae’s normal voice at all. JB and Jinyoung’s eyes widened, disbelief with the words that Youngjae had just said. This time, Jinyoung was the one who tried to shake Youngjae, he did with a little bit harder. He tried to get more explanation about Youngjae’s words.
“YAA, Choi Youngjae. What do you mean? It sounds terrible! Why it has to be fire and water? Are we having wars in the future? Choi Youngjae, answer me!” asked Jinyoung in panic mode. Opposite from Jinyoung’s reaction, JB remained his silence before letting out a deep sigh.
“We need to tell the others.” He decided as his dark brown orbs started looking for the others. Jinyoung nodded gently, his focus then back to Youngjae as he tried to call Youngjae again.
“Youngjae-ah. Youngjae-ah. Are you there?”
March 2007. Hakdong Elementary School. Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea.
You‘ve just finished all your classes and were waiting for your Grandmother in front of the School when a dark-haired man with black suits approached you. His skin was unusually pale than any humankind, meanwhile, his orbs were dark as night.
“Child. Your scent... is unique.” he stated as he tried to touch your left hand. Only failed as you took a step back before he even reached you.
Your honey brown orbs gazed at him in a suspicious manner, “Scent? What do you mean, Sir? I don’t wear any perfume.”
Hearing your answer make that pale man smirked, he then tilted his head. “It’s not your perfume, child. I don’t know that Poseidon has a demi-god daughter.”
“Poseidon? Who’s that? Is he my Father?” You asked him, half hoping that you’d meet your Father now —or at least knew his name. Your Grandmother never talked about your Father, either your Mother. She hid their pictures very well, leaving you without any clues about their identity.
“He is. Wonder why he’s hiding you..” Lost in your thought, you didn’t aware that the man was already so close to you. He succeeded in grabbing one of your arms. The sudden feeling of burnt snapped you back from your thoughts.
“Ahjussi!” you screamed, tried to escape from his grip that felt burned you slowly from the inside.
“Leave her alone.” A stable yet intimidating voice came from your Grandmother. Shifting your gaze at the old woman, you let out a relieved sigh. That pale man slowly released his grip on your arm, made you use that chance to escape —run to your Grandmother’s side.
“Halmonie!” your tiny arms linked around her waist as you hid behind her body.
“See. It’s getting interesting. He even gets you a guardian. A sorceress protector.” said the man as his smirk widened. Suddenly a pair of thorns grew on his dark hair, made your eyes widened in shock.
Did you just saw a demon?
You took a look at your Grandmother’s expression which remained calm after that pale man showed his true form. You then heard her warned the man, “You better leave her alone, Ceuthonymus. If not... you know the consequences. I’ll let you know the taste of my wrath.”
The man snickered at her word,
“You can’t be always on her side, Soteria. This child needs to be claimed to be fully safe. When the times up, I’ll get her.” that was his last words before he went vanished into the black smoke.
Realized that the pale man had already gone, you then released your grip from your Grandmother’s waist. “Halmonie. Who’s that Ahjussi? Who is Poseidon? Is he my Father?” you bombarded her with all your questions—as your curiosity took over.
“Later. You’ll know when the time is right.” She explained before made a golden smoke appeared from her right hand. She mumbled words that you never heard before. Your eyes widened, shocked and amazed at the same time because of the smoke.
“Whoa. Halmonie, your hand!” you shouted in amazement. She still mumbled the unknown words before ended it by grabbing both of your small hands.
“Child.. for now.. you need to forget.” She said calmly before brought her digit on the space between your eyebrows. She tapped it lightly, made you suddenly saw a light. All white and blankness.
You blinked several times, tried to adjust your sight because of the sudden light and nothing. The memory of what was just happened never carved into your brain. You didn’t remember this. “Halmonie.”
“Gwenchana?” asked your Grandmother as she studied you. You nodded lightly, followed by a small yawn that escaped from your rosy brims.
“I’m feeling sleepy.” you said as you threw your tiny arms around her waist, leaned yourself towards your Grandmother. A gentle smile grew upon her wrinkled face as she patted your hair lightly.
“Arraseo. Kajja, let’s go home.”
You were about to take another step when your Grandmother stopped you. “Also.. here. Your late birthday’s present.” she gave you a sterling silver Devil’s fork trident ring. Turned out that golden smoke also produced that ring.
The innocent you formed an excited smile, “It’s a beautiful ring, Halmonie! Thank you.” Little you know, that ring was actually a special ring —the kind of ring that disgusted your demi-god scent.
After putting the ring on your index finger, she then placed her wrinkled hands on each side of your small shoulders. Her light brown orbs gazed at you as she gripped your shoulder gently. “Promise me you’ll always wearing this ring. Never take it off.”
You could sense an order in her words. As the only family member that you had, you obediently nodded —giving her the kind of nod that showed you actually understand that it was an order to obey.
“Nae, halmonie. I promise.”
