#a fantastic december

Day 1: Snowflake

Newt was sat on a pile of thick blankets, the heel of his boots digging into the snow. The cool air tousled his cooper curls and nipped at the tips of his ears. Half of his face was burrowed into a newly lifted scarf – gray and yellow.

He pulled his sweater over his hands as he stared out into the land.

It was a scene from a fairy tale. Trees as far as the eye could see merging with mountain scapes. A large field covered in fresh snow and a stone castle behind him that shimmered when the sun hit just right.

A soft smile was planted on his lips as he watched a dragon hatchling playing in the snow. He loved that it could experience snow. Newt had found it in South America with a chain on its legs and neck.

Newt smiled wider when the hatchling started rolling the snow in his directed. It yipped at him playfully before pushing the mound of snow onto the pile of blankets.

The snow redirected itself and landed on top of the hatchling who trilled in delight. It scampered off further into the field, diving into the snow like a fox.

Newt continued to watch it, content.

A body dropping down beside him finally tore his attention from the dragon.

“That was fast,” Newt mused.

Gellert flushed. He was supposed to be in a long meeting with Vinda and others. However, he couldn’t focus knowing Newt was outside with the dragon.

“I ended it early,” he finally said.

Lies. Vinda was the one to end the meeting, not wishing to watch her boss pine unnecessarily.

Newt rolled his eyes fondly. “Of course.”

Gellert waved his fingers at the snow like an orchestra conductor. The snow began to dance in the wind, flowing all over the field. The dragon trailed it enthusiastically all the way back to the bunch of blankets.

With a little extra magic, the snow became a huge ball before bursting.

Soft snow fell alongside snowflakes.

Newt’s eyes followed a specific snowflake, amazed by its pattern. Before he could do anything, it was preserved in glass and placed gently on his lap.

“You look beautiful in the snow, meine Schatz,” Gellert said warmly. He saw a blush peak its way over the scarf and smiled. “A true wonder.”

Newt linked their closest hands together, leaning into the other man. With his free hand, he reached out to feel the snow on his skin. He felt a kiss pressed onto his left knuckles seconds before the hatchling playfully pounced on them.

They would have to cuddle another time.

Are the different robot shows in the same continuity or are they separate? Are they alternate universes within the same multiverse?

I have no idea what you're saying most of the time about the robots but they seem silly so I vaguely grasp why one may like them so much

SAME CONTINUITY YES !!! There's actually like, a handful of shows and they're all under "the Security Breach Shows" (tsbs) title and all except one take place in the same world! That one exception is literally just one of the characters from the Sun and Moon Show (tsams) deciding that the main universe is too dangerous, and just. leaves. makes a home in another universe LMAO,,, Though I will say that the channels tend to have their own plots happening and don't intersect too terribly often, likely for the sake of the voice actors LOL

I mainly watch the ones with the Daycare Attendant characters (aforementioned tsams, then the Lunar and Earth show (tlaes) and the Eclipse and Puppet show (eaps)) but there's also channels with Roxanne and Gregory, Freddy and Funtime Freddy, etc etc! They even do crossovers for gaming episodes LMAO

Is anybody else's relationship with Doctor Who currently all over the place like a rollercoaster at the moment, or is it just me?

I do love this show and what it has done to me and the friends and opportunities I've had through it and I will always be thankful for it making the person I am today, but I just feel like the last few years it has not been as it should be in terms of writing and quality control? I don't know how else to describe it.

I have been doing my best to completely ignore the bits of Doctor Who that I don't like and focus on the areas that I do like, and I really want to get back into the expanded universe / classic series again, I think.

I've taken a step back from the fandom recently and been trying to dive into other stuff, but maybe I should try and just pick up a random doctor who books or audios to get me into the spirit of things again.

My high school did a yearly poetry recitation contest (Poetry Out Loud), so Oh Boy do I know some poems. My favorites are Ozymandias and "the world is about to end and my grandparents are in love," by Kara Jackson. Also in 8th grade we had a Poe unit and had a class contest to make the best music video of the Raven, so I still know a good chunk of that.

i hadn't heard of the kara jackson one! just read through it and enjoyed it, particularly these lines > 'grandma returns to her love like a hymn, marks it with a color. // when the world ends will it suck the earth of all its love? /will i go taking somebody’s hand, / my skin becoming their skin?'

December 5th: Day of Fantastics debut

-> FANTIME event on an arena stage for the first time

December 20th: Day the twin vocals joined the group

-> 2nd group photobook release

December 29th: Day Fantastics were formed

-> "biggest" concert they will ever hold, Fantastics Disco 2024

💙Smoshblr December Asks Day 18💛

So I'm super into curating my closet and picking my day to day outfits according to the aesthetic vibe I'm currently feeling! (a bit pretentious? idk, it just genuinely helps me feel better, especially on days where I struggle to get out of bed) And there are so many pieces of clothing I absolutely love! Since it's holiday season I decided to go with some of the stuff I don't wear super regularly, but love whenever I get the chance to do so!

Also this post is gonna a bit long, so I'm gonna put my detailed answers below the cut 😅

but as a quick note on stuff that I usually wear... my top three fave clothing items are: Flannels, Skirts & Turtlenecks. (In warm seasons turtlenecks get switch with linen shirts) And also special shout-out to fandom inspired t-shirts & hoodies, that literally make up a good third of my closet❤️

Like I said before, I love!! Leather jackets! And I two of them are inspired by fandoms I am/was in! (First being a red leather one, that I don't have a pic of rn -> Emma from Once upon a time ❤️; and the second being the yellow one on the left, which I bought bc of my love for the Dirk Gently 💛 tv show!

2. The floral dress 🌺in the middle is literally my fave summer/warm spring dress bc it is a) super pretty and b) genuinely super comfortable to wear!

3. When I'm not wearing a dress or skirt (my beloveds <3) to a big family dinner or smth semi-serious like that; I love wearing a nice blouse 💚 + 🖤black jeans combo; And this is one of my fave blouses! (even tho it crinkles way too easily!!)

Special shoutouts to my yellow raincoat! (literally inspired by IT 2017, with Georgie's paper boat, a red balloon etc on it) Def my most worn item of clothing in the fall! And also to my turtlenecks (so soft and I don't even need to wear a scarf inside, to be more comfortable!) and my skirts! (most of them are rather old and handmade by my grandma and I treasure them very dearly!)

Moving on to my top 3 accessories:

Flower Crowns 🌺 -> are they a bit cringe and smth that should be considered a relic of the early tumblr days? Maybe, I don't care tho! I love them, and I even handmade a couple of the ones I wear regularly! (like the one in the picture below)

That sword necklace! ⚔️ It has two dragons wrapping around the blade and a rose-gold tone that goes super well with my glasses (and it's a sword!!! like I just love wearing lowkey fantasy themed stuff that I got from diff renfairs!)

3. This funky lil backpack 💛that I got for myself this year! I love collecting and putting pins on everything and this has really become my fave bag to carry around everywhere

Day 5: Starry Night

In the middle of Circe-knows-where, Newt sat on the grass outside his tent. His legs were out in front of him, resting his weight on his hands behind him as he leant his head towards the sky. The darkness was unburdened by pollution, letting the stars shine bright. The lack of clouds brought a chill to the whole area, a stark but welcome contrast from the hot day.

He was dressed in naught but his trousers, shirt (mostly unbuttoned), and carefully selected jewellery.

If only his brother could see him – he’d surely burst a blood vessel and break his own wand out of madness.

Newt made no movement when his guest finally arrived. In fact, he completely ignored the other man until he sat down next to him and spoke.

“Newton?” Gellert Grindelwald, the Dark Lord, spoke with a strange soft tone, as if he was scared the red head would disappear with the wrong move.

Newt let his eyes drop from the stars to the man beside him. “What is this visit for, supposedly?” He asked. He had not believed the reason for the Grindelwald’s visits for the past six months. “Gellert.” He said, tone soft yet also demanding.

Six months he had been dealing with random visits that he was certain was merely so the other man could check on him. All that time to decipher the strange thoughts that crept into his mind and how they made him feel. Receiving gifts, praise, treats – all with the premise that Grindelwald just had them lying about with no use for them.

The day Newt figured out what he wanted, things clicked into place and a weight lifted from him. All that was left to do was understand what Grindelwald wanted. And, oh, the first time Newt called the other man by his first name he swore he saw him swoon and blush. So, he kept doing it. Not too much, but just enough that it always seemed to catch the other off guard at the right moment.

Like that moment. Grindelwald’s eyes softened; his lips parted slightly while the corners tilted upwards. His head fell forwards as he tried to hide his face with his hair.

“I was in the area,” Grindelwald mumbled out. It was quite unlike his usual demeanour. Then again, Newt had been privy to many things that the general population were not.

Newt let a sigh past his lips. His head lolled backwards; eyes trained on the sky once more. He knew he wouldn’t get it on the first try. “I’m afraid that’s not the truth.”

He could feel those mismatched eyes on him. And he knew exactly what he was looking at.

His fingers were littered with silver rings – different but similar. A chain draped across his collar bones, a skeleton key pendant attached to it. On his right ear was a cuff earring that started on the top and followed the curve to the lobe where a droplet of silver hung from a very short chain. All things that Grindelwald had given to Newt.

“I came to check the Ministry had not convinced you of their side,” Grindelwald said.

“We both know that wouldn’t happen,” Newt replied, not turning away from the stars.

Grindelwald struggled silently for a second before huffing, the sound not quite a laugh. “I came to check on you,” he finally answered.

There it was.

“Check on me, compliment me, buy me pretty things… Surely your time can be better spent?” Newt turned his head as he spoke, green eyes locking with blue and brown.

“No.” Grindelwald said much too quickly. Conflict clouded his eyes and Newt hated how it looked. However, it seemed the other man needed a small push.

“People might start to think you like me, Gellert.” Newt sat upright, turning his body towards the other man. “Unless that is why you spend your free time with me in the middle of nowhere,” he mused.

Grindelwald’s eyes darted to his lips before he turned his face away, facing forward. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a breathy laugh that held no humour. “Observant as ever, Newton.”

That was what he wanted, but there was something underneath that was still so clearly holding him back that Newt needed to know.

“What’s stopping you from taking what you want?” Newt asked, getting a look of shock in return. “Gellert, you have not been subtle, and I have not rejected you once. What’s going on in that gorgeous head that’s making you hold back?” He asked again.

Grindelwald gave in.

“I haven’t let anyone in since him. It’s too much of a risk. But you… I want to let you in despite the risk and that makes me nervous. You’re different in so many ways and I don’t know how to handle it.”

Newt smiled, soft and warm. He reached out, touching Gellert’s shoulder lightly. Slowly, he moved so that he sat atop the man’s lap, amused when hands came to sit on his hips instantly. “He certainly isn’t the saint most think he is. Maybe, together, we could knock the professor off his pedestal.”

“I could kiss you,” Gellert said before he could stop himself.

Newt flushed. “I won’t stop you,” he said. The other man didn’t move, so, he leant in closer but not enough to touch. “Gellert, I’m wearing all the jewellery you got me, I’m sitting in your lap, and, I suggested committing crimes against your ex. I promise I won’t hurt you.”

Soft lips slotted together in a slow kiss, arms tightening around waists and shoulders.

When they pulled back, Newt held Gellert’s face in his hands with a bright smile. He had been jittery before the man got there, not used to doing what he did. But he was glad because it meant he got to spend his night enjoying the outdoors who seemed to bring out the best and most devious parts of him.

And if Gellert was putty in Newt’s hands, well, that was just a bonus.

im acutely aware airing out my spirals is inappropriate at best but it's either that or i bottle up & stay at least mildly upset over nonsense forever. having a therapist (that i trust) would be nice but until then all i can do is walk through my own mental processes aloud to get normaler. & thankfully it does work. i do feel better when i publicly analyse myself & less upset at whatever caused the unwarranted negative emotions of the month. again sorry to everyone though.

there's a pro-running store like 30 minutes from my house that opens at 11 AM so the plan is to go for a 2 mile out and back (i am taking it so fucking easy on myself you have no idea -- between the mental health and the knee and the weather: this is one of those "running to turn my brain off for 30 minutes" runs not "training for a half-marathon" runs), take a shower, maybe write (remember all summer when i would get writer's block i would go for a run and then start writing???) and then i am gonna go get some new running shoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!!!!!!

Getting into stuff that has a lot of pre-announced release dates is really good for me like vocal synthesizer products and new love live etc franchise music releases....I'll be lying in bed at like 2 AM with ur usual 20-something's fear and existentialism over time and the future and then I'll remember a piece of singing software or a new song related to cartoon characters I like is gonna come out like next month and I'm like 😌
