The Danny Bunch x Fistfights:

Daniel's characters often get beaten up but they don't typically instigate fistfights. If they do fight back, it's with wits. Should they choose violence, their weapon of choice is usually a gun.

If a brawl were to break out, however, Erik, Zemo, Checo, Laszlo, and Niki would probably have caused it with something they said or did, deliberately or otherwise. In my mind they're not necessarily a part of the scuffle, they're just pot stirrers. Arranged the likelihood of someone having diabolical intent from left to right. It peters out by the time it gets to Laszlo and Niki, as they mostly trigger conflict with the unfiltered truths they speak. While many of Daniel's characters would probably lose in a fistfight, I see Alex, Arbo, Tony, and Andrea going down after a single punch. Why these babies would be in a physical altercation, however, is beyond me. David from Lila, Lila was originally on this list but then I remembered he did beat up his tormentor in a mad rage. I was also tempted to add dorky ol' Marek but then he looks way too fit to be knocked out so easily. Marko would obviously win in a punching match. I'm willing to bet Horstmayer would, too. Ernst slugged someone in The Cloverfield Paradox (threw the first blow and all) but that was after this person directed multiple accusations at him. He has a temper but I don't think he readily resorts to violence. There is this feral quality to him though, so if he is in one, I see him winning. Zemo could take on a horde of non-enhanced fighters any day. Daniel (Weltz), Tobias, and Sebastian I see running away from shit they probably stirred, the scumbags. Zemo chooses his battles. He's a skilled fighter but against, say, the Avengers or the Dora Milaje, he knows he's better off ditching the scene or pitting them against each other. Lutz, Klaus, and Frederick go apeshit when cornered or scorned. They go from nasty to full-on Nazi. To Zemo, bombs are an acceptable means to an end—a literal tool in the arsenal. Should anything stand in the way of his mission, he will make them go BOOM.

*** p.s. if it isn't obvious already, Zemo appears four times because he changes tactics depending on the situation.

On archiving lgbt/mogai content

Everyone is of course free to what they want, but during my time searching for terms, and archiving their sources, I have a couple of ideas that I think would be helpful.

Make a copy on sites specifically for archiving

Archiving posts using reblogs is great and all, but I think it's much better to make a copy of them on actual archiving websites, such as Wayback Machine and Archive Today (for Archive Today specifically, there are a bunch of different urls, such as archive.ph, archive.is, archive.li, etc. but don't be confused, as far as I'm aware, they are all the same site).

Tumblr blogs can and do get deleted (not to mention your information shouldn't be stuck with one social media company, if they ever go down you don't want your queer terms/history disappearing with it), so I really think it's much more reliable to make your own copies.

On Wayback Machine vs Archive Today, they both have their benefits and downsides. Mainly Wayback doesn't archive images, only links to them, so in the case the original source gets the deleted, the images will be gone too. Archive Today does archive images, but it kind of just.. exists. Unlike Wayback, which is an actual non profit organization in California. So I'm slightly concerned about the long term stability.

I think it's best to just archive it on both sites, in addition to saving the original link + reblogs, perhaps even a self made copy + offline copy if you are really concerned. (If you do go the last route, please chose a common, open, file format. Don't use a app/service that doesn't let you easily export everything to something like a .txt file, or uses some odd propriety format that isn't easily compatible/viewable in other programs.)

Enable the website version of your blog, don't only use @ version

If you post flags/terms on Tumblr, please enable the exampleusername.tumblr.com version of your blog, instead of only using the @ exampleusername version.

E.g. @ryanyflags is the @ version of my blog, and ryanyflags.tumblr.com is the website version.

The problem is the @ / tumblr view version isn't compatible with archiving sites. When trying to archive posts in Tumblr view, Archive Today would get stuck trying to download the website, and both would end up with "please login to view" and the actual post isn't saved. I have been able to get around it by reblogging to my blog, which has a website version, and archiving that instead. But I think it would be better to be able to archive the post on the original blog.

You can activate it by enabling "custom theme" in your blog's settings. You don't even have to actually customise the appearance, it only matters that the website exists. (Image of the settings below)

Don't change your username when you stop using a blog

For example, when deciding to not use/post to a blog anymore (which is perfectly understandable), some will change their username from "example-name" to "example-name-archive", or "-inactive", and other such variations.

All the un-archived links to all that blog's posts break. And it messes anything linking to it in general, I'd say.

Unless you want to delete any references(links) to your posts, or make it harder for people to find your archived content, just don't do this. I personally don't understand why changing the title of a blog to something like "inactive" wouldn't be sufficient, or what the point of it is. But it's up to other people to do what they want.

(I wouldn't mind if someone just wanted to change their username, I just don't get appending inactive to it.)

Use the archiving sites to save content under "read more"

This is an issue that has been brought to my attention before. When the original post gets deleted, the content under "read more" (or "under the cut") of the reblog disappears.

I've tested it out myself using Archive Today and Wayback, see here and here. It's just some text with a read more in the middle.

If you check, the original post has been deleted, actually, the whole testing blog is gone. But the archives have kept the content under read more.

So instead of copy and pasting read-more content in reblogs, I think just using Archive Today and Wayback is way easier.

(Also, I just realised I didn't test this out with Tumblr view, though with the above issues I'm not sure it would have worked at all. If anyone want to test it out themselves, well it's free.)

People say things on the internet are forever, and maybe some viral things are, but I don't think that's really the case. Cool stuff can disappear all the time, and relying on some companies just doesn't seem reliable to me. Best make copies on separate archiving sites, and make your own offline ones.

My focus is really just on flags. I have a whole file folder filled with pngs of all sorts of flags (I think 4000+ ?). I sort them however I want, I can look at them on any device, regardless of operating system, I can make as many copies as I want and transfer them to new devices, I can easily use them in any program if I want (like to reference to make other flags). It's great. I don't have to worry about any individual or company deleting it or anything of that sort. It's just my own copy. For everyone else that cares about terms, I imagine saving the pngs and definitions in markdown files would work well enough.

This is nothing but my opinion at this point, but I really think making your own copies (whether offline or on archiving sites) of stuff on the internet is the way to go.

Thinking about when time when I was in Reddit therian and otherkin communities.

Once time, I made a google slides presentation for myself with positivity about being C.A.R. kin, and every single being supported me except this one exclusionist guy. He called me controversial and had a whole argument with me in the comments.

He was very strict about who he saw as a valid otherkin and gatekeeped others to hell and back. It wasn't just with me and being an African nation, but he pretty much nitpicked everyone he saw. If there was anything about them that didn't match his perfect standard of being an 100% involuntary, monokin/very few kin, non-physical, completely serious, not seeking validation, mythical creature otherkin, he found a way to argue with you and tell you what he thought you should be. This man was in his 20s and talking to a bunch of experimental/new-to-kin teenagers about this stuff, mind you.

Later on, my and a fellow otherkin friend messaged a user that he was, once again, gatekeeping and invalidating. I believe it was because they were original species kin, but I'm not quite sure. Either way, they reported him and he was banned the next day (thank goodness).

When I was in Reddit spaces, this wasn't all that uncommon either. He was just a more extreme example. People did make fun of "tumblr kins", which I believe was a satirical/troll movement a couple years back that made fun of bizzare kintypes and experiences. But the same idea still stuck; sometimes, tumblr was known as the place with a bunch of fakers and confused teens with 50+ kintypes, which is extremely indicative of "faking" in reddit spaces.

I admit that I partook in it gatekeeping, too. Specifically in therian spaces: it was extremely common for young & new therians to come in and ask if they were a valid therian, and a few people would reply and tell them the usual spiel: "as long as you aren't controlling it and you dont think you're physically an animal and you identify as not with, then yes!!!!"

When I found the r/alterhuman subreddit instead of other big kin subreddits, I totally changed my views on who counted as a "real therian/otherkin/whatever-else-kin". If you identify as it, you are it, and only you can decide that for yourself. It's no one else's decision, because they aren't in your mind.

That's when I left Reddit and came over here.

I realized something that could have been useful years ago when I was experiencing impostor syndrome over my plurality.

If you think you're faking, what's the reason for that? Is it because you feel like you subconsciously chose to be the way you are? Is it because you got hyperfixated on the community you're in? Is it because you dont experience any of the common or "more serious" traits of your identity?

Chances are, whatever it is that's making you feel that way is actually valid. Gatekeepers will try to shape their communities into the perfect mold that their brain sees them as, or as the people around them have made it out to seem. In reality, the ideal community is completely subjective and imaginary. There is no one, no force, no ideology that can stop you from identifying the way you do. It's entirely mental, individual, and personal. Theoretically, I could put on any label that I wanted to right now, and no one but myself could stop me.

After I realized I could apply that to myself, I understood most of my imposter syndrome came from the fact that my autism clung to communities and made me subconsciously gravitate to them due to hyperfixation. I always tried to find reasons why that couldn't be true, but I realized I didn't have to do that anymore. I accepted that was essentially what was happening. If someone did develop their identity, subconsciously or not, due to a hyperfixation, that was valid. When I built my own moral compass and stopped gatekeeping others, I was then able to stop gatekeeping my own self.

It is a really good question, what people who are supposedly so upset by murder, gore, rape, abuse, etc. are doing in fandoms for media full of them, and yet it happens constantly. Before House of the Dragon brought a bunch of normal fans back to the fandom last year, the ASOIAF/Game of Thrones fandom on Tumblr was like 90% antis. The fandom for the 2022 Interview with the Vampire show is also chock-full of them even though the show itself seems to be doing all it can to scare off that type of person. My friend recently got into Gotham and says the fandom is full of people with lengthy DNIs including "DNI proshippers" and their favorite characters are all people who do morally reprehensible things like murder that the show still expects you to sympathize with. I really do not get it. I see how in an otherwise "lighter" (idk how to put this, but without archive-warning-style upsetting content) show, fans can twist themselves into pretzels to pretend some character they like who did a bad thing didn't actually do that bad thing. I understand how that kind of one-off cognitive dissonance works. But when the whole show is full of characters like that and you're constantly watching them do the things you insist are immoral to like? It's not even a case of having different tastes for fanworks vs. original fiction; I like shows like that, but I'm generally not a fan of rape or abuse in fanfiction since I prefer escapist romance in fic, but I'm up for whatever in original fiction. But I don't think there's anything *wrong* with wanting to read fanfic that has non-con or abuse, and I fully understand why people enjoy that stuff. But these anti people think it's wrong to like that content, in any fiction, in any form, and act like they are traumatized by it wherever they go. And yet.... these are their fandoms. How???

a fish hook, an open eye: 7/10 - it's hardly set in the gffa at all tbh i love earnest evil puppy anakin & conniving obi-wan who gets more than he bargained for. needed more cody, tbh a more perfect union: 10/10 - i'm biased obviously cause i just finished this fic so it's fresh on my mind but it was so fun to write! i loved trying to balance the humor and the seriousness and the council scene (both of them!) was just so great amort & amor: 6/10 - i just think anakin would probably not be that cool about obi-wan getting another padawan lol but it's fluffy and cute and i'm glad i wrote it! bed warden, bed warmer: 8/10 - obi-wan would be the worst patient in the history of the world. he's such an asshole which i love writing but he's also so clearly very smitten with anakin. he's just going to be an asshole about it building a boat with no blueprints: 7/10 - i know yall dont know how it ends but i know how it ends ;) burn every bridge but please leave me a boat: 6/10 - my first attempt at reverse master&padawan au which is a dynamic i really love. i would rate this fic higher, but i wish i had started it in a different place and relied less on mental flashbacks but a number: 9/10 - happy almost one year to this fic! i had to get someone to cheer-read this fic for me because i was worried that i was being too hard on aging/obi-wan's body falling apart and anakin feeling old and tired at age 40 but then i saw a bunch of gifs of obi-wan jumping off stuff and i was like yeah his body probably does feel like it's falling apart foolproof, foolhardy: 10/10 - i literally have not has so much fun with a cliffhanger since i last updated time & tide. no notes, just stupid oblivious padawan obi-wan trying to seduce master skywalker into his bed, unaware that master skywalker would crawl over burning coals to kiss his hand. hand in unlovable hand: 6/10 - not my favorite adaptation from tumblr fic to ao3 fic - i used too much of the original ficlet and always feels clunky to me. i do like sith vader manipulating obi-wan into falling!! yes baby, you twist and ruin that jedi master and make him yours haunt me then: 8/10 - i love non-sequential storytelling and also padmé loving anakin so much that she sacrifices a child to bring him back only for him to come back solely to live and breathe for obi-wan hold me fast or kill me quick: 3/10 - would be a higher rating but this fic haunts me. i want to finish her someday and until i do i will not rest peacefully at night. get these stupid soulmates to communicate! i pray the same, but my gods have changed: 10/10 - i love writing this fic, i love watching the polls as you guys vote for what should happen next, i love catty sith obi-wan working to seduce senator skywalker because he's hot lol but it's the voting aspect that makes this fic a 10/10 for me if you love me, let it remain unnamed: 9/10 - it surprised me how much i loved writing set as an actual character. one day i want to explore the universe that set's in, where he meets his own kenobi and falls in love with him. i really liked the outsider perspective on how absolutely wild obi-wan and anakin are - especially since the main scenario is that they're having a threesome, and obi-wan and anakin have to?? share?? each other? with someone else? unlikely! let’s get your fingers tangled in my hair: 6/10 - i wrote this in a fever state; it was fun and i enjoy a king kenobi as much as the next gal! do i actually think anakin could last that long without talking? no not the way i usually write him lol like saints, like monsters: 8/10 - i love the way the chapters are set up, with them going back and forth between the actual plot and the worst parts and darkest moments of the recovery lost to a sea of troubles: 7/10 - it will never not be funny to me that this fic is in response to the prompt "knocking on the wrong door". it could have been anythinggg. it became this instead, featuring light stockholm syndrome and an obessive, evil obi-wan

The Basics: (or the General Info)

This blog serves to be a more creative way for me to share all of the ideas that I had planned out for the Rockers, along with some other guys, mainly following a story-esque format that follows their "backstory" and how they had originally met up to become the well known rock duo they are now!

Following up on the text above, just to clarify and put it straight, the blog will not start out with the both of them right away, and will likely follow the perspective of one or the other.

While there will be art for a bunch of the asks, especially for standard posts that are needed to progress the story, I cannot guarantee that there will be something drawn for each ask, though I do wish to try and do so. That applies to whether it's a colored sketch, actual drawing, a simple doodle, etc.

Some characters may have different names than some that may be commonly used as a fan-name from the fandom, the main case of this going to Student (name being Jamie.)

This whole blog's going to be a headcanon fest, considering how a majority of this is me making shit up for the most part, so please keep that in mind if you see different portrayals for one thing or another.

Additional Notes:

If you are running another character-based blog, it is completely alright to interact with this account! Just keep in mind that this is technically taking place in the past, which means that any asks that are sent that mention anything that could be in regards to any present matters /foreshadows anything about the Rockers will likely be ignored.

While it may not be prevalent for the long run start of this blog, I do ship the Rockers together, and would probably come up at some point very later on when the time comes, so be weary of that if you don't like the ship and such.

This blog is only being run by me, myself and I ( @submaskudari ), so things might be a bit slow depending on the situation.

I will also answer asks that are out of character for those who wish to know anything from me specifically ^_^

It has been a while since I started digital art,

So here is a 'progress over the last two years' since I gained access to a drawing tablet.

This is my first ever digitally illustrated piece- compared to my latest one-

So, a little bit different.

I do think my art took quite a jump around June 2022, when I took a break from my Steve comic strip, (for obvious reasons- it was about Technoblade's polar bear so...) and decided to try practicing gesture drawing to see if it helped my general anatomy knowledge. This is before,

And this next one is after.

The most obvious change here is that I switched to using thinner lines. There is a gap of about two months between these.

This was when I realised that you could improve art by practicing it (mind-blowing I know), and then started to do just that. Some other notable jumps forward would be when I discovered the airbrush-

Well, discovered a new method of shading with it anyway.

Then after that I had a few pictures that I actually still like, despite them being pretty old at this point, the one below is actually from September of 2022-

I mean, the hands are a bit iffy, but the rest looks alright. This was when I was going through a bit of a melanie martinez phase-

This next one was from January of 2023, I'd only just gotten into bungou stray dogs via some random memes on pinterest about this weird brown haired guy who had lots of bandages and who had this running gag with wanting to die- I actually looked him up at one point, but that didn't really explain much. The main one that I remember was 'life is short, so make it shorter, shorter than chuuya~'

Which at the time was just kind of confusing,

Then I watched the show and it made perfect sense.

I'd discovered ascendance of a bookworm in like, 2021, but I hadn't really been doing fanart of it since I was mainly doing dsmp related stuff and I kind of assumed nobody would know what on earth I was referencing. Turns out tumblr has a lot more bookworm fans than I orignally anticipated. Instagram still has no clue. I think maybe one person out of my followers on instagram knows what I'm on about-

Then we've got these two which I am still proud of btw-

The first one is from a dystopian/time travel fanfic called viridian.

The second one was after I learned about rim lighting. It was inspired by a song actually, 'crash' by noevaii. (and yes I found that song from a sad-ist animatic, it was cool) The character isn't anyone in particular. They're both from February 2023.

Then there's probably my most liked picture on instagram, (not tumblr, since tumblr knows about bsd and bookworm, but y'know. This was even sadder than I originally intended since the last half of my comic strip was finished AFTER everything happened)

Then the final conclusion of my Steve comic strip in May of 2023.

I don't think my art really changed much in between those, but eh.

Then I switched to doing a bunch of ascendance of a bookworm stuff to see what would happen and turns out there are way more fellow fans out there than I anticipated-

Then I guess my next breakthrough in tumblr popularity, (even if it might not have been a breakthrough in art skills necessarily) was when things went DOWN in the bsd fandom with chapter 109 and I did probably one of my most liked tumblr posts I have ever done-

Then I started a 30 day art challenge in October that I didn't get past day six of, but it was still pretty fun. This is the best one of those-

After that I spent most of my time studying for the jlpt n5, so I didn't really do that much art related stuff,

TVA archive anon again yes that is what I meant thank you! Sorry I wasn't clear enough in my first ask, I'm just a bit intrigued by the local fandom cryptid and don't know where to do research

No worries!! I can give you a quick overview of what happened (to the best of my knowledge) and places you can look for remnants of the Tall Varian anon.

The Tall Varian anon started posting under NSFW fics on ao3 that featured bottom Varian. (It's important to note that the Tall Varian anon and the Top Varian anon are the same person btw!)

They hit up a few top Varian fics, praising them for having that and begging for more material. These are mostly under "Anon Guest" users, but I think DAVIDOFF and Sararar were the pseudonyms they transitioned into using.

I'm pretty sure if you search Varigo on ao3 and filter it out to Explicit fics, you'll find a comment under one of those two names about it, so I would start there. It's mostly smaller comments like "this is actually good" or "why won't people write Top Varian?" until beloved fandom author PornOnTheCob declared open season on them in their comment section on I THINK their valentine's day fic in 2022 (?). After that it migrated to Tumblr and became way more hostile.

There was an incident where they posted under EVERY SINGLE Varigo authors' works (including non tts/vat7k fics) about how Varigo was a cult (these might be deleted, but I still have screenshots somewhere).

It's harder to search on Tumblr bc the search system is stupid and broken, but there were a million incidents on my main (@whothefuckisknives), and I'm pretty sure other blogs got hit up too (I wouldn't know tho bc I only knew a couple of ppl in the fandom at the time and we were in a Discord groupchat, not really on Tumblr).

Currently, they do have a Tumblr blog, but they have most ppl in the fandom blocked which is awesome for us tbh. I think they interact with 3 ppl tops.

One note to add, you'll probably find a lot of Tall Varian/Top Varian comments under Cheerio, HOWEVER you'll also find nice comments too. That's bc Cheerio was actually someone else, but Tall Varian anon started impersonating them to cause drama (I know this btw bc I knew who the original Cheerio was and they ended up making an AO3 account). So if you see Cheerio in the comment section during the Porn0nTheCob fights, that's not Tall Varian anon.

There's a bunch of other pseudonymous they used too, like Anali, Dan, Duchess de L'ciel, Rioteer, gds, and Lady [something?? i don't remember it but I think it began with an "A"]. They've gone through a couple of Tumblr blogs too that got deleted or banned too. The only one's I can remember is @imapervertedtangledfan (deleted, but you might be able to find it via archieve/waybackmachine fuckery), @/aliciasinferno (this one is still a little bit active).

Actually here's a really funny call out post that THEY POSTED ABOUT THEMSELVES to try and throw ppl off their trail (didn't work):

It has the names of all the blogs and some of the AO3 names they've used which is. Really really funny.

Anyway, those are some places where you can start looking! Its a really weird deep dive fr one you get into it. They're also still active on their current Tumblr, but I'm not comfortable with naming them outside of DMS bc I don't want them up my ass again.

If it is, yes, I did see your last ask - but life has been a bit shit lately and frankly, I didn't have the emotional bandwidth to deal with an accusatory email that gave me absolutely no details about what you were upset about so I could investigate. So today, despite it being an incredibly long and shit one that isn't over I'm going to reply.

*Takes a deep breath* From this point forward I'm going to assume that, like me, you are just a real-live human with feelings that get hurt and not someone who just likes to yell at people on the internet. So let me apologise that I have used your artwork without attribution, it was in no way my intention. Please take this apology as someone who was just trying to amuse themselves and perhaps help some other people out by reminding them to take their meds too. I absolutely suck at art-type things so in my mind, no one would think I did them or was claiming the actual 'art' part of them as mine. I realise now this is the internet, you guys don't know me, and so I should have been clearer that nearly all of these are edits. (There are a few waaaaay back I actually drew myself). Looking at the 7th, 8th & 9th of April (allowing for time zones and assuming that's when you saw your artwork). It seems that one doesn't have the link. I don't know why. I haven't made any new reminders for this blog in ages (again - life) - it seems like most of the ones from early April this year were originally posted back in 2021. I got briefly excited about this blog again a few months ago and loaded up a bunch of old ones so this blog was still functional for the people that find it helpful. Going back I have noticed that others seem to not have credit either. It is possible I made a mistake and forgot to add them. It's also possible that Tumblr has a had a glitch/error/weirdness which means it's disappeared. I also used a bunch of images from the editing app I was using to add the reminder message and I wish I could remember what the site was called because I cannot for the life of me remember. Honestly, who knows. I have deleted the post(s) with that image - if it's not the right one please let me know.

I have always gone out of my way to ensure that anything I use is either free use, or non-commercial under Creative Commons. As an aside, I'm an academic and a person who has artist friends and my partner runs a business where our customers are largely designers and artists, so I do actually do my best to give credit. Am I perfect - no I'm not. Part of the reason I stopped making new posts was because of difficulty giving credit even on images that were non-attribution and finding images where I knew what the attribution requirements were (along with trying to remember everything everyone asked me to tag, and doing the image descriptions etc.) If anyone else finds something of theirs in one of my posts and there isn't credit attached please either dm me or send an ask and let me know which post and how you would like to be credited and I'll add it in. If you want it removed, I'm happy to do that too.

I have enjoyed this series SO much. It really shows how much work and love you've put into it and how much it means to you; I'll absolutely keep following it along through its completion. I look forward to its return in any form!

With that said, here's a proposal for you (and this is not me trying to sway what you decide; it's simply an idea I had after reading your post): since you DO enjoy the asking interactions, you could always continue doing that (obviously much less often so you're not burning yourself out) in the form of an OOC accompaniment to the fics! And by that, I mean, people could ask you or the characters about their thoughts on specific (non spoiler) things happening in the plot that wouldn't be actually happening in the fic itself. That would both let you continue to do some of the answering asks, AND it would mean you would need to do a lot less of it since you can progress the plot and provide answers to spoiler related asks at your leisure with writing, which wouldn't depend on the ask feature itself since it's already a planned part of the story.

I'm glad you've liked it so much!! It's funny, this blog was originally meant to be a much smaller project that'd just give me something to do when I was bored, but now it's really grown into something I love working on just for the sake of creating! its such a weird mix of personal-to-me and just fucking around and its so so fun even if I have to change it up a lot!

that's a pretty cool idea, and I have seen others do it before, but sadly i don't really think it's very feasible at the moment :( ask culture itself has honestly been suffering a Ton on tumblr lately already, which was a big reason I stopped enjoying the ask blog format in the first place. But even besides that, there are. a LOT of things that happen in this story!!! And I know myself well enough to know that I would Not be satisfied by using character portraits that don't match the setting of whatever update they're commenting on. Meaning, I would likely end up putting in the work to draw a bunch of stuff anyway.

I'm trying to get this final event set up in time for me to get a large portion of it finished before I go back to school, because I know that once I get into the meat of the semester and living with roommates again I won't have nearly as much time or energy to put into answering asks in-character. It is very difficult to be constantly drawing the same character in 532 different outfits when your roommate is constantly sitting directly behind you !!!!! (and also i'll have homework and classes taking up my time too i guess)

So as sad as I am about it, once this event is wrapped up I really do think it'll be time I'll have to let the ask blog format go. I've been thinking on it for a really long time, honestly I think right after I posted that very last comic update, even before I went on hiatus, a part of me knew that I just couldn't keep doing this.

But I still love remembering it for what it was! That's the entire reason I'm setting up a send-off event in the first place, so we can have one last taste of that fun that comes with working on a story with other people! I'll admit I'm a little scared, but hopefully it'll be a blast!!!!

snopes.com. When I was younger (like.. 12-16. Early 2000s) I was SUPER into fact checking and rumors and being a smug little shit so I spent a lot of time reading articles on snopes to find out what things I'd always heard about weren't true. And also to learn what some of the urban legends/rumors/whatever were because I always felt out of the loop. I spent time on the forums, but I never had an account to post anything. Those forums were my first exposure to a lot of different kinds of people and opinions that have made me who I am. I grew up in rural East Tennessee with a conservative white family so I had a lot of ideas that weren't great. I wouldn't say that the forums were some kind of leftist paradise, but I learned that gay people, Democrats, transgender people, non-christians, feminists, people from other countries etc weren't all that different from me fundamentally. I learned that some of the things that I had accepted as "just the way it is" were actually debated hotly, and that the arguments on the "other" side made some sense. I learned about parts of history that I was never taught, and parts that I was taught wrong. I don't think I'd have ever made it to Tumblr or met any of my friends if I hadn't had that desire to "well actually" grownups who spread bullshit about 9/11

Gorillaz. All my childhood, I was a big fan of country music. LeAnn Rimes was my favorite singer of all time, but I also loved the Dixie Chicks and Kenny Chesney and Shania Twain. All of those 90s Country hit makers. Again.... Rural Tennessee! When I was in 6th grade, I had a friend on the school bus who was also a big pokemon fan like I was. She was also a fan of this new cartoon band called Gorillaz. I'd heard their songs before and I thought it was cool, but it wasn't "my kind of music". Well, long story short: I was moving away and nervously waited til my last day to tell her, but she was out sick and I never got to say goodbye. I felt so bad about it that I got the Gorillaz album lol.. ANYWAY, I don't listen to much country music anymore. I became a huge fan of Gorillaz, branched out into other similar acts (Blur, then other Britpop bands, then similar genres/influences of my favorites, etc). Nothing against country music, but the music I like now is a lot cooler imo... Plus, following Gorillaz fans here from Twitter is how I joined Tumblr in the first place.

Getting shitty grades in college. I started at a community college with the intention of transferring to the University of Tennessee Knoxville to get a marketing degree, but I was really bad at it. I had to retake a bunch of classes, and changed my major a few times (the 2008 recession scared me off of getting that marketing degree). By the time I was ready to transfer, UTK wouldn't take my GPA so I picked a cheap state university 4+ hours away with lower standards. Getting away from my hometown was so important for becoming more independent. Plus most of my friends are from the university I ended up attending. (I was bad at it there too, so lucky me! I was in school so long that I became friends with people who were still in high school by the time my "original" graduation date rolled around)

As for recurring dreams: probably the most common is a dream that I'm back in school and I realize I haven't gone to class all semester and I'm going to fail. (Guess what one of my biggest issues in college was? 🤣)

So let’s talk about Trick Weekes and Taash’s pronouns.

Hey! I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. Varric is saying "somebody with fire in THEIR veins" rather than "...in HER veins," because he doesn't know Taash and is using the general "they".

But I am very proud of the diversity we have in the game, and I hope you enjoy Taash's arc nevertheless. (source)

Look at what Trick Weekes says here. They make it clear that Varric is saying “fire in their veins” not because Taash is a they/them, but because Varric doesn’t know Taash yet. Fair! But at no point does Weekes outright say, “No, she uses she/her. Taash does not use they/them.” They use a lot of words that suggest that, but if the game ships and Taash turns out to be non-binary, Weekes can point to their posts like an Aes Sedai in the Wheel of Time and say, “Show me exactly where I said that Taash uses she/her.” It’s the Solas Lie, where you’re deceiving without actually directly lying. (Which is fair, coming from the writer for Solas.)

In fact, Trick has been scrupulous about never using pronouns for Taash. The closest they’ve come is posting a screencap of the “do it for her” meme with pics of Taash, but they made it clear that this was fan art and not theirs.

Now what’s interesting is that other devs HAVE used “she/her” for Taash (on the rare occasions they talk about Taash at all). It’s just Trick who has done a careful job of not using Taash’s pronouns.

What does this mean?

I absolutely believe that Taash being non-binary could be a lightning rod for the worst people in the world to come be shitty, and BioWare wouldn’t want the public story around Veilguard to be a bunch of ranting assholes screaming about Woke. So I can totally see them hiding it! But I find it harder to believe that a game director who is a trans woman would be cool with misgendering Taash for any reason. So it seems pretty clear that we are going to hear “she” for Taash in the game. 

But there’s still the question of Trick Weekes avoiding the pronouns.

Maybe Taash is just a cis woman who uses she, and Weekes wanted to use they/them but got overruled, and this is Weekes’s little bit of resistance. Maybe Taash is non-binary but still uses she/her (which is totally valid)! Maybe Taash uses both She and They interchangeably (gender-fluid follower?!?!?!?!), and Weekes thinks of Taash as They more but has to stay quiet. Maybe, and this is the longest of long shots, Taash’s arc starts with Taash using She and then changes to Taash using They. Bioware has been progressive in a lot of ways. Are they going to give a follower in a AAA game a coming out story? (Putting on my clown makeup for that one.)

Whatever it is, Trick Weekes isn’t saying. They aren’t a big part of the interviews. They aren’t going to conventions. We’ve seen that some of the junior devs who shared stuff early on talked about being told to stop sharing so much, so I’m guessing that Trick Weekes can’t share. So hopefully people don’t keep pressing them to share stuff when they don’t have the authority to do so.

Honestly, I really hope we see more than Taash’s pronouns. She is/They are a dragon hunter! Let me see her/them fighting a dragon! 

I guess we’ll see. (Hopefully during follower week!)

I've been following you for quite some time now, but been more on the silent reader brigade, but I just wanna say I love your work so much and I'm totally not checking your Tumblr and Ao3 like every few hours to see if there's an update of Kickoff, but anyways-

I saw this one post you made answering another persons claim of gangbang and orgy being a different thing (which is true), but gangbang referring to just rape also which is not.

I'm Sorry, but I feel like I have to educate people here ^^' just ignore this if you're bothered by my 'uhm actually' attitude here :')

A gangbang refers to a group of dominating people (mostly men) having sex with a single (or at least fewer) submissive person (mostly women). It doesn't have to be rape necessarily, but is often interlinked with it given the circumstances.

An orgy on the other hand is just a bunch of people having sex with each other, regardless of their stance and amount of subs and doms.

So, taking this in consideration with the original post you made about like the haunted house thingy with the JJK men as ghosts (feel free to correct me ^^') it would indeed count as a gangbang, consensual or not, unless they would fuck each other as well, which would be so hot not gonna lie :')

I hope I could shine some light on this topic and you're not mad at me for being so overly correct about it... I just feel like it's something a lot of people get mixed up quite easily and I want to clarify the right terms and meanings.

yeah, my own original conception was similar. i thought gangbang was just multiple people on one person (usually multiple men on one woman) and any examples i had seen online in porn at least were not even remotely related noncon so i guess that was my perception was to never question that it wasn’t inherently consensual. n then yea orgy was just multiple people w multiple other people like a fuck party LMFAOOO the way this convo is so technical is kinda funny to me but it’s educational too so it’s fine. i can see how these two definitions are very different in nature, so they’re not entirely interchangeable regardless of the discussion of consensual vs nonconsensual

This might be controversial but like when we talk about characters getting sidelined in ST. I think it's important to note that like....the show wasn't unsuccessful with those characters and those characters being as good as they are is what built the platform for the characters after it I think Mike,Nancy and Jonathan are some of the most criminally disrespected characters in TV history. Both by the fans and (for Mike and Jonathan I feel at least) writers. Because lets go back to prior to s1 and nobody had fucking heard of this Stranger Things show. To this day I don't think many fans have seen an S1 trailer and it has less than half the views of the next least viewed with s2(11m vs 25m). I don't think some of the younger people and post s1 fans realize that this show came from literally nowhere and spread out overnight through word of mouth. The show was an overnight success. The writers have talked a few times about how when they originally pitched and were doing the show they imagined it as an adult focused SCI FI show and not the big blockbuster teen thing it became. It's only because of s1 being as good as it is that the show got the audience it did.

S1 is just some of the most pulsating TV they ever put out. It's scene for scene beat for beat no wasted movement no wasted time not a single second. Everything ties in together. Every character on the show is fantastically written

And the main 6 leads of S1 were: Joyce,Hop,El,Jonathan,Nancy,Mike. Dustin and Lucas were supporting and Steve was a minor character. Coming out of S1 a lot of the focus was on Joyce,Hop,El,Dustin as a meme then a bit of distance until we get to Mike then Nancy then Jonathan and Steve was like basically non existent as a fandom thing until season 2. I think it's important to note that like.....whether fans generated a bunch of content about Jonathan,Nancy and Mike was kind of irrelevant. The show was widely viewed and they were a large part of it so clearly they did definitely play their roles and parts in the show and do them well. Like...not every character has to be a viral meme. These 3 characters were awesome on their own and did their stuff and carried whatever themes and drama they had to well. What I'm trying to say I guess is that the first season was a huge success and these characters did all play their parts hence why it's always confusing to me that the show decided they needed so many other characters and honestly many of which retread the same ground as those three. And it's just become strange to me that the show and fandom has become about characters who benefited from the hype rather than those who created it and were there on day one. Even like Lucas never getting a real chance to be a lead while all the other kids have got their shot(Mike-S1,Will-S2,Dustin-S3,Max-s4) is never gonna sit right with me and hopefully he has huge stuff to do in s5. Some of the more popular characters like Eddie,Steve s2 onwards,Robin,Max,Billy,even Murray are just not possible without the first season. It's also weird that the show has come full circle to the point where Jonathan who was kind of the furthest thing from a meme-y character had his own weird meme moments in s4 so he could go viral and IG it kinda worked because he's on youtube links and shit now and people love the stoner stuff outside of tumblr and reddit but it's also weird to me to see that. Please don't kill me fans of post s1 characters and Steve fans. I like those characters very much as well.
