Aaaaaaah, I HOPE Monster Capsule GB is releasing in English! I'm a lil worried cause Duel Monsters Expert 6 isn't even though Stairway to the Destined Duel is basically the same game. (I wonder if they'll keep or censor Hirutani's cigarette; the ESRB rating doesn't mention smoking.)

Oh my god this game is dumb. Yu-Gi-Oh The Eternal Duelist Soul is a childhood game of mine. I, and many other people remember there being a glitch where you unlock Yugi's grandpa and he'll sometimes just vanish out of nowhere. I finally learned what is actually happening. It's not a glitch, it's by design. Here's what it looks like when he vanishes, You can't select him to duel but your records are still visible.

So you unlock him by having at least one copy of every card in the game in your card trunk. You get all the cards by winning the November tournament. You need to have at least one copy of each card in your trunk. Which means if you only own one copy of the card and you put it in your deck Yugi's grandpa will vanish. Take the cards out of your deck and he shows up again.

I do still love Eternal Duelist Soul. But some of these decisions man.

So by chance while searching Amazon for Kaiba plushies I happened to discover that THIS exists and will be available in February. It contains a bunch of classic Yu-Gi-Oh video games, and while Amazon has an incomplete list, I'm hoping we get all of them yummy pixelated goodies.
From Amazon Summary:
Yu-Gi-Oh! EARLY DAYS COLLECTION includes:
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters,
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters II: Dark Duel Stories,
Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories,
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists,
Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul,
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2(in Japanese),
Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards,
Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction,
and more titles to be revealed!
I've never played them personally but have wanted to since I got interested in the franchise, so this is a great way to do so! I'm honestly surprised I haven't seen anything about this prior to my happenstance Amazon search for Kaiba goodies.

Yu-Gi-Oh!: Ennead
Series Description:
Yugi was born a girl, inspired by the fact that I found out that Atem is in fact commonly used as a girl's name. Yes I am aware of the fact that mythology states that there was an Atem who was the father of Bast, but once my brain had started ticking, well… here you go. There will be 9 main stories in the part of this series based on Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, 6 of which are posted or being posted, but I make no promises how many side stories and one shots will pop up by the time the series ends. This lines up with the 9 Gods and Goddesses of the Egyptian Ennead and is the reason for the series name. The main 9 arcs are: Truth (Ancient Egypt) Season Zero For Those We Love (Duelist Kingdom) Kin (Dungeon Dice Monsters) Kismet (Destiny Arc) Battle of the Gods (Battle City) False Light (Pyramid of Light) Apollumi (Orichalcos) Eternity (Dark Side of Dimensions) Thanks to some friends, I am now planning Ennead GX, though how much of it I'll write after I finish Ennead DM is questionable. It's taken me since 2011 to nearly finish Battle City. There are links to all 24 of the Ennead Duel Monsters stories under the cut.
Story Links:
(Lists are in timeline order of events, not in order of stories written)
Ancient Egypt:
Palingenesis - In Ancient Egypt the Gods watched without care as the enemy approached…
Kemet - Before the downfall, before Egypt went to hell, there was a Thief who wormed her way into the palace... (Complete, One Shot)
Dishonour - Finally, after years of waiting... they've got him. (Complete, One Shot)
Jb - After the events of earlier, the Pharaoh and her Shadow need a moment alone. (Complete, One Shot)
Mahad’s Tale - The moment everything went wrong in Ancient Egypt as told by Mahad in chapter 3 of Kismet. (A comic of Mahad's side of the story by https://twitter.com/fullmoondraws. 2 pages up so far.)
Renegade - The night before his father's execution for High Treason and Mass Murder, High Priest Seth visits Akhenaden to try and understand why... (Completed, One Shot)
Truth - After an attack on the palace, and on her own life, costs her the two people she trusts the most, Pharaoh Atem is left to pick up the pieces and defend her country.
Duplicity - High Priestess Isis didn't agree with the Pharaoh's plans and instead created her own... (Complete, One Shot)
Modern Era:
Season Zero - After working on the Puzzle that her Grandfather gave her for eight years, Yugi finally managed to complete it. What she couldn't know was how much trouble one little trinket could cause… (Complete, 27 chapters)
In Sickness - Jou has been ill and now Yugi has come down with the same sickness. Can the spirit of the Puzzle, Oneesan work out what's wrong with her Imoto-chan before the sickness takes it's toll? (Complete, 1 shot)
For Those We Love - A sudden attack out of nowhere leaves Yugi with no choice but to travel to an island in the middle of nowhere and compete to save her Ojiisan's soul. Can she defeat Pegasus, save everyone and somehow, finally, work out how to interact with Oneesan, all without getting herself killed? (Complete, 27 chapters)
Refrain - Duelist Kingdom was hard on the Kaibas and Seto can't sleep.(Complete, 1 shot)
Kin - After surviving Duelist Kingdom, Yugi is looking forward to getting back to normality. Well, what passes for normal when you're the one who completed the Millennium Puzzle, one of your friends is the host for the spirit whose rampage ended your elder twin's reign back in Egypt and old adversaries of your grandfather have moved into town. (Complete, 15 chapters)
Kismet - After a close call in a raging inferno, Yugi is left with more questions than answers. One thing is certain: as she is, she cannot win the oncoming fight and with the future of the world at stake, she needs to know more. Thankfully, looking to the future can sometimes give you answers to the past... (Completed, 19 chapters)
Unwind - A little relaxation is good for the soul. (Set between chapters 5 & 6 of Kismet. Complete, 1 shot.)
Semestral - A collection of drabbles and one shots set in the time skip between Kismet and Battle of the Gods (Complete. 44 chapters)
Battle of the Gods - Battle City has arrived. Yugi and her twin sister, the Spirit of the Puzzle, need to compete to earn the keys to unlock the Pharaoh's missing memories and powers, but there is danger on the horizon. Will they reach their goal or will the sun set on them, and the world? (Complete, 53 chapters)
Side B - The King A dip in the ocean at the end of the worst day of Yugi's life, leads to a trip from which there may be no return... (One shot, Complete)
Side B - The Pawn The cost of self sacrifice burns deep, and Amane, having risked her life and soul to protect a friend, finds herself making a journey that could end badly... (One shot, Complete)
Side B - The Knight Jonouchi Katsuya knew it was a bad move the moment he made it, but coming back from it could be more challenging than he knew… (One shot, Complete)
Side B - The Bishop There's nothing more important to Kaiba Seto than his little brother, and when protecting him means making the ultimate sacrifice, Seto suddenly finds himself on trial for the future of his very soul… (One shot, Complete)
False Light Back in Egypt, everything changed because of the actions of one man. Now he has returned, to finish what he started all those years ago… (Posting, 2 chapters so far...)
Future Plans:
Ennead GX Masterpost - everything posted so far involving Jurai and about GX plans

Sorry gamers, I've been playing Yu-Gi-Oh: The Eternal Duelist Soul and have been having a blast.
Gotta tell ya; the late game duelists are hard as fuck though. They have championship level decks. Granted, the mega in 2002 wasn't that wild, but dude summoned Exodia in like three turns and my damn Beaver Warrior is sitting there like 👁️👄👁️
If you wanna help me out in the meantime so I can live more comfortably, snag my games below! They're on saleeeee

games I wish I had when I was a kid!
Yu-Gi-Oh The Eternal Duelist Soul
This was one of the best selling games on the GBA, but I got Dark Duel Stories on GBC instead. Eventually I got 7 Trials to Glory, a mixed bag of a game I nonetheless hold dear to my heart, but I wish I had EDS as a kid. EDS is the perfect game to be the first YGO game on GBA. The spelltraps are massive blowouts, caveman Yu-Gi-Oh is in full effect, and the cardpool is both small and nostalgic. EDS (or the original Japanese release) was the first video game that actually tried to follow the rules of the real world OCG/TCG card game and it did a pretty good job along with a clean presentation, great music and flavorful decks to grind against. Plus the packs you pull from are mostly based on real Japanese card sets! Basically I admire a lot about what this game did in 2002 and in a potential world where I got it alongside my GBA SP in 2003 I would have been set for years. Instead I got... Dark Duel Stories in late 2003 around the time I got my GBA SP, and that game is .. not as worth investing time into. Oh yeah and it has a cute calendar system with weekly matches at the duel shop and oooo it's just such a cute game!
Goldeneye 007
I didn't have a lot of N64 games as a kid, but out of all my regrets on the console, I easily missed out the most not owning Goldeneye. Now I can appreciate it as basically the Super Mario 64 of first person shooters and imagine that, even though I only owned one controller, those levels would have kept me coming back again and again obsessively for hours. I can just imagine how I would have organically find the island on Dam by myself and wondered what was out there. I never had that chance
Super Smash Bros Melee
Throughout the early 00s I had various nostalgic experiences playing the original Super Smash Bros, and eventually I craved very dearly to play it's sequel. Literally all I could tell you is that it had (Scott the Woz voice) "a freaky STORY MODE! now that's cool!" and you could play as Bowser. It looked so damn cool but I didn't have a GameCube. I would have dreams about playing this game I knew very little about. I actually can guarantee I read about the Sonic and tails in melee rumor before I had seen more than an hours worth of gameplay in my life (all through playing demos in 2002).
When did I actually get a GameCube? 2007. I actually remember visiting Nintendo World NY in 2006 right before release of the Wii and playing Melee on one of their demo kiosks (and wind waker for the first time ever, notably). I got my hands on a GameCube in summer 2007 thanks to a friend of my dad's and pretty much the first thing I did was go to the still surviving Hollywood Video in The City and rent melee. Now considering I was 12 the first time I got to extensively play melee and really enjoy it, you could say I was still a child and that's true. I wish I somehow had a GameCube around 2004 and got to play it then though. Look, things felt different in my life then, it wasn't the same kind of feeling to me. By the time I got to play it I didn't really have that childish exuberance and excitement. Plus I got a Wii that same year for Christmas so my overall excitement for the GameCube was muted lol.
The Simpsons: Hit and Run
I would have gobbled this up as a kid even if not the biggest fan of the simps, if I had gotten this at release for PS2 I could imagine I would have spent many hours playing it
Pokemon Stadium 2
As a kid I desperately wished I had this game and rented it a bunch of times. When I discovered you could emulate N64 I spent most of my time doing so playing this game. I eventually got my own real copy around 2019 but considering I would leave the first game on for days on end I would have loved to have had stadium 2 as a kid. Plus it actually has single player content and provides plenty to people without use of a transfer pak too! I was fascinated by the updates as a kid renting the game
