#Yes I think this is a Danny Phantom alternate universe

By the time Danny moves to Gotham when he's going to Gotham University he starts putting a mask over his face because ultimately Gotham citizens are just smarter than Amity ones and it's not like a domino mask like the Robins and it's not a full cowl like Batman.
So I have four alternative options;
Number one being one of those digital masks that can show different exclamations and stuff (like this one:)
Tumblr media
I just think it'd be funny for everyone to think that the new ghost hero that just turned up out of nowhere is mute and then one day he just starts talking and everybody's like: "WAIT WHAT?!?"
Alternatively, the most obvious option is the Phantom of the Opera mask and he does this purely for the fucking gimmick it covers completely nothing so he has to wear a mesh black mask underneath to cover his features but still, it's funny
Tumblr media
Third plague doctor again purely only for the gimmick and because he thinks it's funny that everyone thinks he's from the plague times so they ask him weird questions and he has to do a whole bunch of research to answer them and he doesn't look online for This research he goes to actual plague survivors in the ghost Realm
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4th and finally only for my imagination this specific mask because I think it's fucking perfect (yes I know it's not an actual mask and it doesn't cover his entire face but you can't deny he looks fucking awesome here and I wish this look stayed or at least made another appearance)

Yoooooooo.
I’ve been bitten by the bug, and ye olde nostalgia got me thinking about Danny Phantom again, so I decided to play into that. I recently found the Show’s Pitch Bible, and it got me thinking about how I’d handle the reboot. On top of tweaking Jack and Maddie to make them less bumbling morons and more eccentric geniuses, I’d be aging up the crew, and settling Amity Park in Arkham County up New England way.
Danny, as you can probably tell from his human design, would be somewhat milquetoast, with grungy alternative leanings. Good at science, bad at math. Danny is, at his core, a good kid who loves his family. But he is still a kid.
I’ll probably go into them more as I work on the other characters, but I want to give Tucker, Sam, Jazz, and the Fenton parents more to do, even if it is just in the background. But for now, the Fenton parents definitely have only recently started Fenton Works. It’s been a lifelong dream, and between the two of them they’ve reached a point with their savings that it’s now a possibility. Maddie is a respected physicist, and Jack is… a bit of everything really. Test pilot, super spy, but mostly he’s an engineer. Maddie figures out how a thing works, and Jack can build it. The world of academia was… shocked when the most prominent scientific super couple announced they would be devoting the rest of their lives to pursuing superstitious pseudoscience, and this announcement has called their previous credibility into question, but no one can deny that Dr and Mister Fenton get results, if anyone can prove the existence of the supernatural, it’s the Fentons. Both are haunted by a supernatural experience from their youth.
Tucker Foley would probably have escaped the nerd label by his sheer programming and tech repair skills alone, if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s also a total anime geek, and a self proclaimed furry. Tucker is an unabashed nerd, and not the suave tv friendly type. Cosplays, ttrpg, mmos, comic and action figure collecting, you name it, he does it. Proudly. And he’s been Danny’s best friend since they were in diapers. Inevitably some of that has rubbed off on Danny.
Sam Manson is relatively new in town. She moved in with her grandmother midway through freshman year after things finally came to a head with her super conservative parents. Falling somewhere between socialist and anarchist, classic goth and punk, Sam is a rebel, an activist, and everything your parents warned you about. She’s also the coolest person Danny and Tucker know. Sam has a borderline obsession with the occult, ghosts, demons, witches, you name it, she can’t get enough of it. Which may or may not have something to do with a family secret relating to why certain members of the Manson family have purple eyes?
Jazmine Fenton is Danny’s smarter, prettier older sister. Fascinated by psychology, and obsessed with figuring out the inner workings of the mind. In high school she was a geek. In college she is thriving. Fortunately, Fenton Works is close to the university she’s attending, and that means she’s never far from home, and more importantly never far from her family. Though her relationship with her parents is rocky, she’s been trying to mend fences after getting some perspective on the world. She and Danny were close growing up, and shared everything, so his recent trend of playing everything close to his chest is unnerving for her. She doesn’t understand when she stopped be Danny’s best friend.
That’s alls I gots for now. Maybe I’ll play around with writing a fic, or maybe a comic or something. We’ll see how this all develops.

Ecole, Mike, Misti: !
Josh: !? Wait, my Alternate best friends are Bart is missing and Matilda is dead?
Future Josh: Yes, right...
Future Ecole: Bro, not good.
Josh and Ecole are very shocked and horrified they are dead and they are missing
Tucker: Wait. Not alive? [dropping his arms] That's our future? I'm definitely not taking the C.A.T.!
Future Valerie: The C.A.T. That's the last time I saw you alive. The explosion at the Nasty Burger... you, Tucker, Danny's family- [training the gun on Danny again] And it was all your fault!
her future friends are used to ghost weapons on three Ghosts friends again
A green flash of flame and other colours of fire knock Valerie and her Future Allies offscreen. The Ghost Teams and Mystery Teams look up to the source to find Dark Danny, Dark Sophie, and Midnight Dan floating there.
Dark Danny: Actually, that was me. And you, eventually.
Dark Sophie: They have to me and they are dark!
Midnight Dan: Us, ours are strong! They are weak!

Okay I know I'm still being metaphorically crushed by my last post but I need to get these thoughts out there- I already halted posting a different DP x DC post because that last one startled me bUT LISTEN-
Okay so it's one of those parallel timeline things, and the Danny Phantom timeline/s is parallel to the Batman one/s attached to this idea. Everyone's got their alternate version in the different universe:
Danny: Damian
Jazz: Babs
Jack Fenton: Bruce
Madeline Fenton: Harley Quinn (stay with me here-)
Dani: Jason (I'm sorry but also I like this concept)
Sam: Cass
Tucker: Duke
And finally, my personal favorite that ties the story together: Vlad is the alternate Joker.
Because listen! Didn't Harley, Bruce, and Joker go to college together? Just like Maddie, Jack, and Vlad! And also, two of them ended up in a relationship (though Bruce isn't ever really pining for either of them). Also I think it's very funny.
(I don't have any good ideas for who else would be who I'm sorry)
There's some sort of inciting incident that causes the barriers between the two worlds to become blurred, and everyone starts meeting with Danny and someone else from his world of your choosing accidentally crashing into the DC side of things.
Eventually, the Joker and Danny end up somehow crossing paths, and there's a bleed-through across timelines from Vlad into Joker, causing him to suddenly get a rush of [keep protect mine son protect take mine want take keep mINE-] that's directed at Danny, causing a whole new slew of problems.
Also I just really like the idea of Bruce meeting his other-timeline, himbo self in the form of Danny being in danger (again), and hearing from the other side of a very sturdy wall (concrete, Superman-proof, take your pick), "NO WALL CAN STOP JACK FENTON-" and him crashing through it Cool Aid Man style. (Yes that's someone else's idea, I can't remember who they are but I would credit them if I could because I think about that part of their post almost every day and it takes up space rent-free in my brain)

If you boil it down there are two kinds of time travel:
Perfect Circle: where everything that has happened will happen because it already happened. Anything you do while you are traveling in time has already happened. You're not changing anything, you don't even actually have a choice in the matter. It's just how it is. Your beloved dog went missing in your childhood? Well it's probably because your future self traveled back in time and brought it back to the future, either accidentally or on purpose.
Notable examples:
The Dragonriders of Pern despite the author insisting otherwise
Pokemon (Based on 4 Ever. Not sure if new movies have new rules)
Star Wars
Uhh actually I can't think of any more examples right now.
Look What You Did: where nothing is set in stone, and every moment spent time traveling is changing everything, even when you don't notice. You can change anything you want. Whether or not that change is a good idea depends on how much of a coward the author is. (And yes, I do mean "coward", not just "not creative".). Paradoxes are commonly possible and pose a very real threat.
Notable examples:
Back to the Future
Doctor Who
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Danny Phantom
Best Friends Whenever
The Terminator
Farscape
Stargate
A third option: Time travel is impossible, so instead, the characters are jumping between alternate universes.
Notable examples:
...I forgot what it was as soon as I went to type the name.

Phantom Children Ch. 8
What's this? An update! Massive thanks to my betas for helping me get through this chapter <3
In Which: A few answers are given to the family and Danny is rudely awoken
[Side note: If you wanna know the general ages of the batfam, its listed in the AO3 version. I also talk about katanas in the end notes ^-^]
AO3 | Prologue | 7 | [ 8 ] | 9 DAMIAN INFORMED TODD—and Drake when he arrived on his bike sometime later on—that the boy whose face is plastered across the monitor was neither a picture of himself nor of Father.
Drake took one glance at the monitor and sighed, pressing his fingers against the bridge of his nose. “Just when I thought this day was getting better.”
“What, did that café on 5th finally let customers supersize their drink?”
“God that would be the dream, wouldn’t it?” Drake sighed wistfully. “Nah, but I did get a lead on where some of that stolen Cadmus tech might’ve ended up. I was gonna spend the night following up on it, but I guess we have to deal with,” he gestured to the monitor, “whatever this is.”
Todd leaned against the edge of the computer, arms crossed over the red bat insignia on his chest. “What are we dealing with this time, brat? A clone? An alternate universe counterpart? Magic shenanigans?”
Maybe. Perhaps. All of those were perfectly valid conclusions for the enigma that was Daniel James Fenton. (Why Fenton and not al Ghul? Or even Wayne?)
Damian, too, was a genetic experiment; a ‘test tube baby’ as Drake put it at times. Damian was born for greatness, created to be perfect. The perfect soldier. The perfect assassin. The perfect heir. Was this boy—Daniel—like him as well?
A failed one, then. Perhaps the precursor to Damian’s own existence. But that would not explain why the boy was allowed to exist for so long. His grandfather demanded perfection, especially from those of his own blood. If the boy was a failure, he would have been eliminated immediately, not sent to live with some eccentric scientists in the Midwest.
Damian was not naïve enough to think that his mother and grandfather did not keep secrets from him. On the contrary, he expected it. The League of Shadows dealt in secrets as often as it did in death. Certain information was worth its weight in gold, whether it was given or buried away.
But he could not help the sharp pang in his chest. A lightning strike, quick and electrifying at the notion that they kept secrets about their family from him.
His father’s face flashed in his mind. The shock turned into a slow, dawning horror. That flicker of light, of recognition, as he scrutinized the contents of the flash drive and cross-referenced it with a public database.
And grief.
Damian recognized the grief.
Alfred, too, nearly dropped his tray of fresh-baked cookies when he stepped in front of the monitor. His usual unflappable demeanor was momentarily broken at his father’s whispered “Sixteen years. Alfred— he’s sixteen years old.”
His father knew of the boy. He was allowed to know of Daniel when he was not allowed to know about Damian.
------
Grayson returned to the cave with a distinct lack of energy in his step. His mask dangled off the tips of his fingers, chin angled downwards and covered largely by his hand. For a split second, their eyes met. Grayson shifted his gaze away, scratching the back of his neck. Father told him, then. Damian wondered how much Father revealed to his favorite son.
Damian clucked his tongue and buried himself deeper into the chair, arms crossed and pointedly looking away. If it was not for his accursed ankle, he’d have headed out to the training ring to take his frustrations out on the dummies.
“Oh, thank god you’re here, Dickface. Damian’s completely out of it.”
Damian shot him a look. “Shut up, Todd.”
“Leave him alone, Jay. Is Tim back yet?”
Drake emerged from the changing room in a dark green shirt, a fresh cup of coffee in hand. He took one long sip before exhaling. “Yeah, I’m here.”
“O-kay…” He pressed his hands together, mouth thinned into a grim line. “Uh, hey Tim, glad to see you back safe. Bruce is coming down soon to explain some things.” He let out a deep sigh, carding a hand through his hair. “This kind of thing would probably be better with the girls around, but I—god, I don’t know.”
Todd raised an eyebrow. “Don’t know whether to call Steph and Cass in Hong Kong, or don’t know what’s going on?”
“Yes.”
------
When Father arrived, Pennyworth following dutifully behind him, it was with an aching slowness in his gait. His steps measured and precise, preternaturally quiet as he made his way to stand by Damian’s chair. Damian sat up straighter, shoulders squared and back an inch away from the backrest. The rest, even Todd, stood at attention; an ingrained habit among Robins and an amusing instinct even among the senior heroes of the Justice League when it came to facing the Batman.
His father kept a steady hand on Damian’s shoulder, and Damian, shamefully, leaned into the touch; his head inclined towards his father’s hand so much so that he could feel the ends of his hair being pushed up slightly as he brushed against his father’s forearm.
He spoke with his usual monotone, as if he was heading a Justice League meeting as opposed to unveiling the secrets surrounding that boy. He brought forward the few photos they obtained from the flash drive. “A few weeks ago, we were alerted of suspicious movement from the League of Shadows in Amity Park, Illinois. Their objectives are, as of now, unclear, though it appears to be tied to the death of Amity Park resident, Daniel Fenton.”
One photo was a standard ID picture people get for their driver’s license, the lighting deliberately horrible so that any attempt to look decent would always end in failure. Another photo was a little better; a candid scene of him chatting with two others his age, a Caucasian girl in gothic-style clothes and an African-American holding a sleek, but still very outdated PDA. His blue eyes crinkled at the corners, hand reaching up to his face to stifle a laugh. There were other photos like this, some candid, others posed. At the forefront of each, a boy that looked too much like his father, too much like Damian.
His father glanced at the photos. He shut his eyes and when he opened them again, he fixed them on some distant stalactite in the Cave. “Around six months ago, Daniel was pronounced dead in a vehicular accident. A body was present, but according to police reports, he was identified via his driver’s license as opposed to any kind of DNA profiling.” He leaned over Damian’s chair to pull up a profile of Masters. “Our source—Vladimir Masters, mayor of Amity and a friend of the Fenton family—indicated his belief that Daniel is actually alive. I am inclined to agree.”
“He’s your son, isn’t he,” Drake said, more of a statement than a question.
Father gave a curt nod. “I cannot say for certain until I can perform a DNA test, but I highly suspect that to be the case.”
“First the demon spawn, now this. Great.” Todd made a hand motion towards the screen. “You know, Bruce, not knowing you have a kid once might be a coincidence, but twice? How do you do that?”
“As of three hours ago, I was still under the impression that my son never made it to term.”
“What?”
“Over sixteen years ago I was involved in a mission that put Ra’s and I on the same side. During that time, Talia and I entered a relationship that resulted in a pregnancy. Though initially ecstatic, she eventually led me to believe she miscarried the child and pushed me away. For what ends, I do not know, but trust me Jason, if I knew—” He paused, the hand that was not on Damian’s shoulder curled into a tight fist.
Father pinched the bridge of his nose. “Why she hid it from me then doesn’t matter. Why Talia wants him back now is important. Judging from Daniel’s records, he was adopted into the Fenton family as an infant and has since lived a seemingly normal life as a civilian. His adoptive parents, Jack and Maddie Fenton, are brilliant scientists and engineers focused on the field of paranormal studies. Eccentricities aside, they have zero connections to the League of Assassins or any other concerning parties.”
“So why now?” Dick asked, shifting his concerned gaze from Bruce to the static picture of Danny’s tired smile. “Why, after all this time, decide that now would be the best time to recover him?”
------
Danny’s experienced plenty of rude awakenings before, but waking up at the ass-crack of dawn to avoid his kidnapper-slash-assassin-slash-biological-mom launching a surprise attack takes the fucking cake. He can’t believe he’s saying this, but thank god for all those late night ghost attacks that conditioned him to be a light sleeper. And, of course, the League’s insistence that everyone be in optimal condition regardless of how little sleep you actually got.
Danny kicked Talia off of him, ripping his blanket away before scrambling to his feet. Seriously, if the universe decided to spontaneously give him powers again, he’d really like an upgrade to his ghost senses, please and thank you. Something that works on humans and not just ghosts. Like spidey-senses. He’d really, really like some spidey-senses.
“Your reaction times have improved considerably,” Talia said.
He eyed the katana sheathed beside his bedroll. “Thanks. Who could have guessed that constantly challenging someone to a spar in the unholy hours of morning would make them paranoid to sleep too much? Really, how am I supposed to grow taller at this rate? ” If he could just get it--
She smiled, taking a step forward. “Prepare yourself.”
“Heh.” Danny stepped further away from Talia, keeping his back to the mouth of the cave. One hand stretched in front of him and the other, coated in a green light, was kept hidden behind his back. “Am I actually gonna get some answers today?”
“Let us make it interesting. Last 10 minutes against me and I shall tell you more about your brother.” Talia twirled her blade. “If you happen to draw blood, you may ask any one thing of me.”
“Anything?”
“Within reason.”
His face caught between a grimace and a smile. He’d rather be sleeping right now, but if he had to be awake, then he’d better make the most of it. “Deal.”
Talia’s smile dropped. She veered her body to the right, barely dodging the streak of bright green that whizzed from behind her. The ectoplasmic energy that surrounded the katana bled away as the handle connected with Danny’s outstretched hand.
She quickly glanced back at Danny’s bedding. Beside it lay an empty sheath. “You have telekinesis?”
He shrugged. “It comes and goes.” Yeah, no way was Danny gonna admit that seven-out-of-ten-times he forgot that he had telekinesis. Besides, that shit was hard to do when he wasn’t Phantom.
“A surprise attack from behind is a sound strategy, Daniel. Though it’ll take a lot more than that to harm me.”
Danny pointed to the side of his cheek. “Are you sure about that?”
Talia frowned. She reached up to her face. Her fingers brushed against her cheek and came away with a thin streak of blood.
Danny grinned, pointing his blade at his opponent. “First blood goes to me.”
------
Fact: most fights don’t last long. An average street fight could last anywhere between 25 to 40 seconds, and sword fights rarely last over a minute. Like Talia said, the goal of a fight was to end it with as few injuries to oneself as possible. Humans, even the most skilled ones, can rarely last long in a fight. Prolonged combat is suicide; it makes you tired, makes your muscles heavy. It’s nothing like what Hollywood would have you believe.
Even with Danny’s own enhanced stamina and Talia holding back, he couldn’t last a full ten-minute spar. If Talia didn’t finish him within twenty-five seconds, then he’d fall by his own human limitations.
But the goal wasn’t to spar continuously for ten minutes.
He only had to last that long.
Danny sprinted out of the cave. The sun barely peeked out of the horizon, a thin line of deep orange breaking apart the wide expanse of blue-black sky above. He couldn’t see shit; great news since that meant there’s a good chance Talia couldn’t either, but that doesn’t fix the fact that he can’t see.
Nearly stumbling on the ice, Danny veered to the left. The edges of the lake stopped at towering rocks twice Danny’s height, leaving little room for cover. Though if he remembered correctly, there should be a few crevices here and there to hide in.
“You’ll have to be faster than that, Daniel.”
Shit—
Danny stopped. He brought his sword up to parry Talia’s strike and twisted away, putting distance between them.
Well, so much for just avoiding her for 10 minutes.
He adjusted his grip, keeping his sword steady and eyes trained on Talia as they circled each other. Danny lunged with an overhead strike. Talia used one hand to block the downswing by gripping his wrists. She thrust her sword forward, the tip harshly poking Danny’s abdomen.
“Less than three minutes.” Talia let his wrist go, Danny’s arms slumping to his sides.
He sighed as he sheathed his sword. “Damn, I thought I’d last longer than that.”
“You made a good effort,” Talia assured him. “Putting as much distance between us at the beginning was a good strategy. You recognized the win conditions immediately and attempted a battle of attrition.” She placed a hand on his shoulder. “I am very proud of you habibi, especially as you managed to draw first blood.”
A warmth grew in Danny’s stomach at the words, heating his cheeks. Sheepishly, he scratched the back of his head. “I wasn’t entirely sure that would work, honestly.”
“It was clever; half a second later and you might have even killed me. You are an al Ghul through and through” She brushed his hair out of his face. “What would you like as your prize, then?”
Danny’s heart clenched. He frowned, dropping his arm to his side. If I was such an al Ghul, then why didn’t you keep me? The question lodged itself in his throat, stifling his thoughts. It was something he’d been wondering for a while, actually, in the moments of solitude he had at the compound. Talia, during their training, would always remark at his potential. How talented he was, how adaptable he was, how much greater he would have been if he had been trained at a younger age.
Well then, why wasn’t he? Why did she give him up?
But each time he tried to ask, his tongue would turn to lead and the moment would pass, the question still left unsaid and simmering at the back of his mind. A Pandora’s Box that held none of the world’s evil but all of Danny’s possible shortcomings.
He could ask the question now.
He could.
He didn’t.
“Why did you take me?”
Talia tilted her head. “It is because you’re my son.”
“No. Not that. It has to be something more than that. You had sixteen years to come back for me—or, hell, you could have just never left me.” His breath hitched, fingers mussing his hair and hiding his eyes. “Why else did you take me?”
“It is true that there was more than one reason why we decided to retrieve you from Amity Park. One of which is because you are my son and an heir of the Demon’s Head.” Talia stilled. The dark skies of dawn made it impossible for him to read her. “The second reason was to protect you.”
“You kidnapped me…to protect me?”
“Knowledge of the ghosts of Amity have spread through the more insidious parts of the world. There are many out there who would pay exorbitant fees to study one of you or to use you.”
Use him? What did she mean by—
Oh.
Ghosts—Amity Park’s brand of ghosts—were a new element that the world had to contend with. Amity Park might have a crime rate of zero but that wasn’t the case everywhere else. Theft, assault, murder; the world was rampant with crimes and criminals clawing their way to the very top. Having ghosts, even ones with the most basic powerset, would be a huge advantage.
“There’s no way that would work,” Danny insisted. “Most ghosts just want to be left alone, and the ones that want to wreak havoc would never work with humans. The only reason they even work with halfas like me at times is because they still consider us as ghosts.”
“If my sources are to be believed, ghosts might not even get a choice.”
Danny’s blood curdled in his veins.
No.
Someone’s found a way to control ghosts.

Some Danny Phantom Headcanons of mine
That I may or may not use in future fanfictions.
During his time as a human on earth, Walker founded the Guys in White as a means of "efficiently" dealing with ghosts. Walker would die during a prison riot in the year 1916. He never got a chance to meet his grandkids or grand nieces.
Ghosts that had lives on Earth, hold very little recollection of their time. The vague memories build most of their personalities, influencing their powers, ghost cores, planes in the Ghost Zone, etc. It's unknown (or is it!? ;)) what exactly happens to ghosts that gain all their lost memories, but most don't desire to learn them.
The strongest power a ghost can have is reflective of how they died. This is known as "Ghost Core Breaking". Hence why Danny's strongest ghost power is the Ghostly Wail. He was screaming while inside the Ghost Portal. It's also why he passes out when using it sometimes.
The first known ghost portal was invented during WW2. The research was lost and most files were destroyed. Until some were found again one day by Jack Fenton.
Ghost hunting technology increased during WW2. With a project labeled "Sojurn's Tempest" being only known to a select few individuals.
Sam and Tucker had only a 70/30 chance of dying versus becoming half ghosts of they were in Danny's place. Danny on the other hand, had only no chance if dying fully in the Ghost Portal. A fact that carries over to Vlad Masters. And Jack Fenton in an alternate timeline. Neither are aware of the fact yet.
Ghost hunting technology has been around since the 1880s. More mystical and magical practices have been around since early civilizations.
Casper High has actually a very low mortality rate.
Other halfas have been around throughout human history. Some due to the natural Ghost Portals, some due to other reasons.
Why do natural ghosts coexist with ghosts that had lives on Earth? The Ghost Zone is the remains a dead universe. For example, Time itself "died" and Clockwork came into existence.
Johnny 13 and Kitty both died during the 1950s while on a ride on Johnny's motorcycle. Shadow is a natural ghost. Who may or may not be responsible.
Freakshow did in fact know Lydia during her human life and shared a romantic relationship with her.
Jazz doesn't believe any of Danny's adventures with the Nicktoons for a second.
Maddie has a couple of cousins, but they are in very little contact with each other.
Nicholai Technus had a Tech company during his life on Earth. His grandkid has some interest in reopening up the company.
Ember not her real name, just a theme for one of her songs and Mr. Lancer did in fact go to Casper High together. They weren't exactly "friends" but he was nice to her. He feels some guilt over her not finishing High School and being largely ignored by teachers. Influencing his position as a better teacher than the ones they had.
Danny has yet to "summon" his place in the Ghost Zone, due to not coming to grips with who he is yet.
Dani has been on some adventures of her own around the world. She's decided to change her name after realizing she needs an identity outside of Danny. She's even befriended Youngblood.
The Ecto Black Holes are to blame for all the natural Ghost Portals, due to their destructive nature.
Sojurn and Clockwork are friends.
The Unworld is inhabited by ghosts that slowly fade into nothing more than words and thoughts. Once completed faded, the ghosts reincarnate.
The Elsewhereness is immediately reached by people that have no ties or anything holding them back when they die.
Lunch Lady did in fact work at Casper High during her human years.
Jazz would've been a halfa if she was in Danny's position.
Box Ghost's death was being crushed under a bunch of boxes. During his time as a human, he was trying to find someone in a box.
In terms of halfas being able to produce children, there's a high chance they would die. They already use enough energy to stabilize their bodies.
Or maybe halfas can choose to pass on their ghost half or not. It's very up in the air.
Poindexter's parents did sue Casper High when he died. The high school is not the most popular in America.
Sam's parents might not be hers.
If Danny were to get his own realm in the Ghost Zone, it would be a floating city surrounded by moon sized planetoids. Each Planetoid would house something something relating to Danny on a personal level.
The Ghost of Space is intrigued by Danny, but tells Clockwork repeatedly that he has yet to be fully impressed by the Ghost Boy. A meeting in the future?
Yes, Danny has powers relating to space. He has yet to awaken them yet, as his status as a halfa never made him think if he had two ghost cores.
There used to be multiple Ghost Kings and Queens, but Pariah Dark made sure to dispose of them.
The Fright Knight used to be in charge of transporting souls to the Ghost Zone, but he has since left that duty.
Valerie's mom is a very... tough subject. Mostly cause Valerie isn't aware she faked her death.
Skulker was a ghost hunter in his youth during his human life.
Youngblood during his human life, grew up in an orphanage watching other kids play and get adopted. Pretending to be a pirate to take his mind off of things. Fueling his resentment and obsession as a ghost.
Danny is obsessed with saving and helping people. He's not aware of it yet.
Ghostwriter died choking on a Christmas sugar cookie, just before he got a chance to finish his masterpiece.
Vlad's obsession is perfection and ruling over everyone with an iron fist.
If Danny were to ever get weapons, they would definitely be knives (or some variant) as he is more of a close range brawler.
Magic definitely exists in the DPverse.
Danny's ghost half is purely ectoplasm from the Ghost Zone. Not from another ghost. Little does he know, he's giving it a bit more sentience each and every day.
Or maybe he's secretly related to another ghost we have yet to meet. Maybe the Ghost Zone is secret sentient? Who knows?

ok but i'm loving your takes on the female characters - like it's very disconcerting to watch this show with a lot of girls and then have almost none of them be actual friends, and when they interact they're either fighting or it's about a boy. a lot of them r reduced to stereotypes too like with sam and her "i'm not like other girls" spiel and paulina's... entire thing lol. i'd say at least valerie is well rounded but she never rly interacts with the other girls positively :/
“and like it's an older show where those kinds of messages were everywhere in kids media especially but it still sucks lol at least we can take what we like from fanon and totally change it into our own because butch really did them dirty” 2/2
Yeah exactly. Not to be feminist on main but holy fuck do the girls in DP have issues. Like I get the whole argument that “it's an early 2000s show what can you do” and “all of the characters were shittily written” but the reason most of the female characters are bad in DP is specifically because they were written through a misogynistic lens. Like the show presents itself as having strong female characters but really all they do to break the gender binary is being able to fight. (I will give them points for letting the girls get kicked and punched the same as the men but that is the ONLY praise they are getting out of me.)
To expand on the “takes” in my previous ask:
-Dora, Ember, Desiree, Kitty, and Spectra all had boy/appearance-based backstories. Like seriously, the only female ghost I can think of whose backstory wasn’t entirely based on a man was Pandora and she appears in literally one episode for literally half the episode. (Also if you look at the myth of Pandora it's literally about a woman created by the gods to be the downfall of man so she doesn’t get any feminism points either.) Like listen. I’m not arguing that all the female ghosts should be totally retconned so they never interact with men at all. In fact, I think Kitty, though she has a heteronormative ultimate power, Dora, and Desiree’s backstories work really well for their characters. But Ember and Spectra? Why should Ember die because “she was so sad she was stood up she slept through a house fire” wtf? That literally doesn’t really work with her musician motif at all? How would that even work? Bitch did you have no alarms? Nobody was screaming or anything? Like its so astronomically stupid.  @grimgrinningghoul has some cool ideas for alternate Spectra motivations in this post so I really won’t get into that here but women being only motivated by their appearance is such a stale take.
-Maddie legit says "behind every genius woman is a genius man" This is self explanatory really. Like come on girl seriously. But yeah, to elaborate on Maddie they could have had a great strong mother figure. I mean she was a scientist and a black belt for crying out loud! Then they kind of back track because you can’t make women too self-sufficient and have her practice traditional housewife roles, always take a back seat to Jack (even though she’s usually in the right) and have her put up with Vlad’s creepy advances far too much. Not ALL of these things are bad mind you and I probably wouldn’t mind her character too much besides for this one line but looking at it from a broader perspective it doesn’t really come together to make the best picture you know? Also, her sister Alicia - who was probably the most gender-non-conforming character in the show, is treated like she’s a joke or trashy by the narrative. (Don’t even get me started on the constant body-shaming either)
Paulina, Sam, Valerie, Jazz and Dani’s arcs all center around another male character (Danny) Ok this one is a tad more controversial because like yes, I understand Danny is the main character. It makes sense that most character growth is facilitated through him. Hell, even really progressive shows like Steven Universe filter character growth through the main male character. However, there are a couple key distinctions I’d like to point out. For example, Steven Universe has a Third-person limited omniscient POV. meaning all actions in SU are filtered directly through Stevens perspective. This isn’t the case Danny Phantom, which has a Third-person objective POV, meaning that the story can follow many characters separate from each other, not just Danny. Also the female characters in Steven Universe are already 3 dimensional fully established characters without Steven and it’s even touched on in universe that the characters learn and grow without Steven’s help. This isn’t the case in DP. Paulina's main narrative shift is from being crazy about boys in general to being a devoted fan of Phantom. Sam’s whole arc is about getting together with Danny. Jazz’s arc is about learning how to best support Danny in ghost hunting. Val and Dani were probably two of the better female characters - despite still having Danny-centric arcs. Unfortunately, not only were their plans for character development cut short but any girl-power lines they may have had (something about there being no weak girls idk I’m too lazy to find it) feels fake and pander-y because of all the previous bad examples.
TL;DR I know it's easy to be like “who cares we don’t even respect canon anyway” but I think when source material perpetrates bad messages it’s important to view the content you are working with through a critical lens so you don’t maintain harmful ideas within your own work.
((sorry I hijacked your ask to get on a soap box but I had THOUGHTS about this topic))

Darkness - Ectoberweek 2020
Yes I wrote this one because I just really wanted to write Vlad and Danny meeting in Antonym-verse, shh. Don’t say anything.
[first part]
Rating: Gen Warnings: - Genre: Supernatural Words: 2,147 Additional Tags: Alternate Universe, Sequel
[AO3] [FFN]
---
“Well,” Danny said, humming thoughtfully.
“Well,” the other person agreed, his bright red eyes absurdly visible in the dark room they were in.
Since the man didn’t seem inclined to talk, Danny didn’t bother to, either. Instead he started peering around, blinking his own vivid green eyes. Even though his retained night vision usually did him little good, he was glad to have it, now. He highly doubted ordinary humans would’ve been able to see in the pitch black they were in.
Unfortunately, the room did not include any hints as to where he was, nor why he was here.
“You’re Danny, aren’t you?” the man suddenly asked, his red eyes narrowed. “The Fenton’s adopted son?”
Danny hummed. He wasn’t sure if he was legally adopted, the human world had so much complicated paperwork, but they certainly seemed intent on counting him as their son. “Yeah,” he finally agreed, figuring he should vocalize. “But I don’t think I know you. Do I?”
The man visibly considered that, weighing options against each other. Finally he offered a hand to Danny. “Vlad.”
“Well, you already know my name, obviously.” Danny shot him a grin as he took the hand and shook it. “But I’m Danny.”
“And you’re half-ghost,” Vlad said, a strange emphasis on the ‘half-ghost’. “Aren’t you?”
“Yeah, well, so are you,” Danny pointed out with a shrug. “I think that the more pressing questions are “where are we?” and “how did we get here?”, don’t you?”
Vlad hummed at that, expression somewhere between pleased and aggravated. Someone was digging for information, huh? “Yes, I suppose you’re right. You don’t know either, then?”
“Nope,” he agreed easily, taking his eyes off of Vlad to look around again. The room was empty and featureless, absolutely non-distinct in how bland it was. “But! I don’t think we’re in the Ghost Zone.”
“How can you tell?”
“Not nearly enough ectoplasm in the atmosphere.” Danny leaned over to knock on the wall. “And these are solid. Humans can go through walls in the Ghost Zone.”
“You seem to know a lot about the Ghost Zone.” Vlad’s eyes narrowed once more.
“Yeah, well.” Danny paused, reconsidered. Vlad didn’t seem like a ghost, not like him. Vlad seemed like a human. If Danny could become part human as a ghost, why couldn’t a human become part ghost? “I guess I spent a good bit of time there.”
“And your parents?” Vlad pressed, cold disinterest in his voice.
Danny snorted, dismissive. “You mean my biological parents? Dunno. Can’t remember them. That’s why the Fentons took me in, y’know? Now can we please focus on getting out of wherever this is before we continue the interrogation?”
“Yes, of course,” Vlad said, graciously. Like this was anything to be gracious about. Danny bet that if he’d been in full control of his powers he could’ve beaten the other half-ghost easy. But, alas. He was still fighting to control his core, never mind use his powers properly. He would have to settle for civilized human behavior.
“Good.” Danny turned away from Vlad, walking along the wall, one hand trailing over it. The whole thing felt solid in a uniquely human way. Definitely no ghosts involved here.
The door, when Danny reached it, was no less solid. He grabbed onto the rounded doorknob and jangled it, but there was no give. Definitely locked. “Yeah, we’re not getting out this way.”
Vlad, who still hadn’t moved, the ass, hummed thoughtfully. “I suppose we will have to use our powers to leave, then. I see no cameras of any sort, do you?”
“No,” Danny admitted, releasing the door and looking around just to be sure. “I suppose you’re right. Some intangibility and invisibility should get us out.”
“Yes, indeed.” Vlad crossed his arms, waiting for a moment before arching his brow at Danny. “Well, go on then.”
“Me?” He scoffed. “It was your idea. You go first.”
The man stared at him for a moment longer, his red eyes boring straight into Danny’s, before he sighed. “Fine, then. But only because I suspect I cannot hope to out-stubborn a teenager, let alone one raised by Jack Fenton.”
Danny quirked an eyebrow at that unexpected hostility. Sure, he’d only known Jack for a month or two, but still. He seemed like a good man.
Vlad’s transformation was similar to Danny’s own. A spark of light from the chest, from the core, forming into rings which passed over the body, and shifted it from one state to the other. Admittedly Vlad’s were bizarrely black, while still giving off light, but it didn’t really matter. Not now, at least.
No, Danny was far more interested in Vlad’s ghost form. He looked rather like a typical ghost, up to and including a thematic appearance. And what an appearance. Vlad had gone full vampire on his looks, with pale blue skin, empty red eyes, pointed ears and sharp fangs. His hair, black in ghost form, was swept up into gravity-defying points, and his clothing did not match the suit he’d been wearing at all.
Hell, the guy even wore a cape. What kinda person did that?
But… Vlad had gone and shifted to his ghost form, so Danny supposed he’d better follow suit. Mentally crossing his fingers that his powers would hold—his core was still settling back into proper stability after his accident—he called his core to the forefront of his existence. Light flashed as he, too, transformed into a ghost.
Vlad quirked an eyebrow at him, judgment heavy in the air. “A jumpsuit, boy, really? You are certainly a Fenton, aren’t you?”
“It’s Phantom, actually,” Danny correctly idly. “The jumpsuit is just a coincidence.” He lifted up from the floor, trying to judge how well his core was doing that day. “Now come on, I don’t have all day.”
“And you think I do?” Vlad scoffed, but started floating as well. “I will go first. I expect I will be more likely to recognize where we are than you.”
Well, he wasn’t wrong, but he didn’t have to be so haughty about it. “Sure, knock yourself out.” Danny swept out an arm in a wide arc to underline the statement, throwing in a sarcastic bow as well.
The gesture clearly wasn’t lost on Vlad, but he apparently made the choice to ignore it, flying towards one of the walls and flickering invisible before he hit it. With a roll of his eyes, Danny followed, focusing his senses on the feel of Vlad’s core so he could track the man while invisible.
Outside it was… also dark, admittedly, but not as hopelessly pitch-black as inside. A glance upwards confirmed that it was a regular dark—stars barely visible due to a nearby city, and the new moon that was supposed to come that night.
Vlad was still nearby, although invisible, so Danny let himself drift over. “Well,” he said when he was close enough, keeping his voice low since they were still invisible. “I don’t think we missed much time. The moon phase is correct.”
“Hm. And what do you know of where we are?” Vlad asked, a tone of curiosity layered under the smarminess of his voice. “Or have you spent all your time looking up?”
“I thought you were going to focus on our location?” Danny shook his head, realized Vlad couldn’t see, then decided to look around anyway.
And, huh.
“Well, at least we’re not far from home,” he said, feebly.
They were on the outskirts of Amity Park.
“You aren’t, no.” Vlad huffed, a sound of displeasure. “Unlike you, however, I live in Wisconsin.”
Cool. That meant very little to Danny. He was pretty sure that it was a state in the country he was living in, but where, or how far away it was? Absolutely meaningless.
“Okay, well… If you know the Fentons you can probably stay over?” He let his invisibility drop, since the strain on his core was rather unnecessary. The people of Amity Park didn’t look up enough to care about ghosts in the sky. “And if you didn’t… Well, they probably would let you stay over anyway. They’d love to talk more about your half-ghost-ness.”
“Joy,” Vlad muttered, and he could not possibly have put more distaste in the word. “And you do not care to stay invisible, then?”
“I can’t keep it up forever, dude.” Danny shrugged, letting his legs blend away into a tail as he drifted in the direction towards home. “Besides, I know Amity Park. It’s a safe place to fly without invisibility, trust me.”
Vlad scoffed, but dropped his invisibility as well. “Very well, then. Lead on.”
Danny nodded back, then shifted into proper flight, making sure to keep his speed fairly low. As annoying as it was to have to hold back, he knew he couldn’t make full use of his powers, not while his core was still recovering from the transition. One day, hopefully, he’d get back to his prior strength.
Still, that did make him wonder. It definitely seemed like Vlad was a human who’d become half-ghost. How did that work, compared to Danny himself? How strong was Vlad? Did he need to wait for his core to mature the usual way? That almost seemed easier to Danny than what he was going through. A slow progressive growth, rather than having all these powers and not having the power to use them.
And Vlad had conveniently skipped around explaining how he knew the Fentons, too. Honestly, he was kind of giving Danny the creeps. Something about his behavior was just… off. Weird.
Or maybe that was just how slimy he was, how haughty, how superior. Yugh.
Vlad didn’t try talking to him while they were flying to FentonWorks, although he did raise a questioning eyebrow at the neon sign when they landed behind it.
“The glow of the sign will hide our light,” Danny explained with a shrug. He’d been told by Jazz that the sign was an oddity among humans, but he didn’t think it was that weird. “We can enter the house through the door up here.”
“Why not phase inside?” Vlad asked, crossing his arms. “That way no one will see us.”
“True. But it’s also rude to go inside without announcing yourself.” Danny grinned at Vlad, displaying his own sharp teeth, before releasing his core to shift back to human form. The flashing light was barely visible beyond the glow of the sign. “Coming, Vlad?”
The other half-ghost sighed, making a motion like rolling his eyes—despite the fact that they were empty in his ghost form—but transformed back into human form as well. “I would’ve thought that using ghost powers meant we were no longer following human sensibilities, but it’s your house.”
Human sensibilities? What, has no one ever told this guy the rules of lairs in the Ghost Zone? Yikes. “You do realize that it’s a thing in the Ghost Zone too, right? Not randomly wandering into people’s lairs?”
“And how would you know?” Vlad sneered back, his eyes dark for the first time since Danny had met him. “You’re what, fourteen? And clearly new to being half-ghost, too.”
“Yeah!” Danny snapped, feeling his core kick up a notch. He was so tired of this asshole. “Yeah, I’m new to being half-ghost! Because I was a full ghost before this!”
He leaned in closer to Vlad, seeing the reflection of his glowing eyes in Vlad’s. “Just because you think you’re a big deal doesn’t mean you are. You don’t know shit, Vlad.”
Satisfied that he’d gotten his point across, Danny whirled around, pulling open the door and climbing down the stairs. After a moment, he heard Vlad follow.
“You are… a ghost turned half-human?” Vlad asked, quietly. “Not the reverse?”
“Not like you, no,” Danny confirmed, opening the door to the upper floor hallway. “But the Fentons will still want to talk to you.”
“No.” Vlad stopped before crossing the door. Danny, too, stopped, turning around to face Vlad again. “No, I don’t think that that’s going to happen.”
“What?”
“I thought I had found someone like me. For that, I was willing to put up with Jack Fenton, at least for the moment. But now?” Vlad scoffed, a derisive sound. “For a poor ghostly imitation? No, certainly not. Goodbye, Phantom.”
With that, Vlad whirled around, vanishing from sight. Danny could still track his core—apparently Vlad had shifted forms almost immediately—but he was, in fact, leaving.
“Well. That just happened,” Danny muttered to himself as Vlad left the premises entirely. “Wonder what the chances are that the Fentons know more than one guy named Vlad.”
He shrugged to himself, continuing down to the living room, where his family waited. Guess he had some more mysteries to solve now.
Like that room. What the fuck was up with that?

Aight! Quick list of AUs I want to elaborate and make stuff for!
There’s a l o t so read at your own risk. (If you don’t want to waste your time scrolling through all of this crap just to find out if I want to do a specific fandom, I’ve listed every one that’s in this post in the tags)
Camp Camp AU: I call it the Jasper AU, and basically David dies in the explosion on Spooky Island instead of Jasper. Now Jasper works at Camp Campbell to honour his childhood friend’s name. (This all sprouted when I started thinking about what Jasper's would be when if he met Daniel.)
Miraculous AU: Ever since I saw Marinette combine miraculous', I couldn’t help but wonder what would happen if the miraculous gave it's user the ability to fuse with other people. I mostly started really thinking about this when brain said to me in the dead of night, "Adrien and Marinette accidentally fuse as civilians. They both are pretty sure it's because the other has weilded a miraculous (the snake and mouse miraculous) but they don’t know how to shake it off without seeming suspicious" and I went "Yes please".
Steven Universe AU: Aight. So basically, I’m kind of curious as to what would have happened if Pink and Pearl had never come to Earth? Or even if they had, I'm curious as to what would have happened if Ruby and Sapphire hadn't fused, or if Amethyst had emerged on time? Because it would absolutely change the crystal gems.
Young Justice AU: (I may or may not have already written (and abandoned) a fic for this. But like, shush. It was about the team meeting their alternate selves, not the au on its own.) The AU circled around what would happen if Dick was taken in by Deathstroke, Artemis had given in and joined her father, Superboy wasn't created (at least, not yet), M'gaan never came to earth, Wally's experiment failed, and (I’m just adding this in now because I want to) Kaldur was raised by Black Manta. So it's basically a "everything went wrong" AU. This would be heavily focused on Dick, because I want his to go through some crap, and instead of Young Justice he runs into the Titans (made up of Speedy, Blue Bird (probably going to change the name, but it's supposed to be Jason), Aqualad (Garth), and Wondergirl (Donna). I wrote something out for it a year ago, but I may or may not have deleted it 😔. (Now that I’m looking it over, it just seems like a DC au)
Teen Titans AU: This... This may or may not be a lot like the fic I mentioned. It was basically going to centre around Robin being trained by Slade, Starfire basically being in Blackfire's place, and the others... I don’t exactly know yet? Raven would either be like her canon self, or would have given in to Trigon's power? While I don’t completely know what to do with Cyborg and Beast Boy. I mostly just came up with this idea because I wanted to draw a badass Starfire with short hair ngl.
Danny Phantom AU: Ok, so I know that I already have Jumpstart, but that can’t and won’t stop me from working on other DP AU stuff.
He Lives AU (Don’t have a proper name for this, so it’s either this, or Fenton survives): I actually spent all night writing out a basic story for this? I've also made multiple posts about this in the past but ssshhh... Long story short, instead of dying when Dan first forms, Danny’s human half survives and dedicates his life to stopping Dan. He allies with Vlad and the Grays, and eventually takes over FentonWorks.
Gothica AU: Basically me having a need to make an ask account while also wanting more Circus Gothica!Danny content. One day, after returning from a crime spree, Danny finds a phone that seems to call for him. There was one small problem. He doesn't know how it ended up in a money bag that he had packed.
(That’s more like a summary, but OK.)
Thank you for sitting through this mess UwU

FF Ask Meme: 7, 11, 17, 28, 37 :D
Okay so first off, I’ve never actually gotten one of these back so thank you so much!  This is awesome!  And sorry about the wait, I wanted to save it for when I was fully conscious.  Secondly:
7: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
"You idiots!" She shouted, clearly talking to Kushina and Minato. "Were you really going to throw your lives away? For what? The safety of the village? Dammit Minato, be selfish for once in your life! You two...your son isn't even a day old and you were both ready to sentence to such a cruel fate." Tsunade said, her shoulders shaking.
"Tsunade-san..." Minato breathed. Even her old teammates looked taken back by Tsunade's sudden burst of emotion. Once she had managed to somewhat compose herself, Tsunade looked directly at Kushina, but somehow, she made it clear that she was yelling at Minato too.
"Do you know how many families have been torn apart tonight? They had no choice but to see their children and parents ripped from this world into the next without even saying good-bye, and you...you ingrates were just going to throw your family away?! You should be ashamed of yourselves!”
“Just be selfish for once in your life” lives rent-free in my head.  In this scene, Kushina and Minato are about to seal the Nine-Tails into Naruto when the sannin show up and save the day.  Honestly that whole saga is one of my favorite things I’ve written, but Tsunade’s be selfish line is one of the best things I’ve written.
11: Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?
Oh man, this one is tough but if I had to choose, I’d pick passion.  Like 90% of my brainpower is just writing in some form and idk what I would do without it.  Now if only that passion would translate into a completed work.
17: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?
Yes?  When I actually sit down and write, I write from start to finish.  Writing out of order bugs me immensely.  But conceptually, I always start with a specific scene or character and try to figure out how to get to that point
28: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.
Well when I first read this the first name that popped into my head was lozenger8 (that’s their tumblr name for sure and possibly?? their AO3 handle) who writes some amazing stuff for Teen Wolf.  And I know several years ago there was a writer on fictionpress named CrazyBlackMan340 who inspired me so much with his stuff.  Unfortunately I can’t really think of a third one that comes to mind
37: Talk about your current wips.
We don’t have enough time in the day for all of them, but the ones I’m most excited for are a Supernatural fix-it of sorts that involves a botched universal reboot from Amara that sees canon!Sam basically waking up at the beginning of an alternate season 6 and trying to figure out what happened.
There’s also a Danny Phantom/Jake Long/Steven Universe crossover I’ve been itching to get published that involves the three of them (and Connie) living together in New York and fighting various bad guys, etc using their “secret” identities.
I’ve been trying to wrangle a giant MCU/Arrowverse crossover that seeks to combine all of those works into one big ass narrative, but the logistics are ridiculous and I’m also incredibly lazy.  Still, I’m slowly but sure getting somewhere with it.
And then there’s an Avatar fic I’ve started that follows demon hunter Zuko moving to a university under an assumed identity where he meets Sokka, Aang, and Toph and joins their little band of demon hunters while preparing to kill his father.
And then there are a couple of original works I’m working on, but this post is long enough already

So i saw Matpat’s latest video about shared universes (starting with Doom and somehow connecting it with Kingdom Hearts) and my crazy brain thought it would be a good idea to expand it even FURTHER all because he used Spider-Man to connect to Thanos in Fortnite (yes seriously)
So behold, all the shit i had to go through to make connections to everything i can find and think of
So since all Spider-Mans are in one multiverse, that means all versions of Spider-Man are canon, so let's look at two cases of alternate Spider-Mans. Theres the Japanese Spider-Man, which was created by Toei as a collab by Marvel, Toei also created Super Sentai, which has connections to Kamen Rider (Super Hero Taisen), Metal Hero (some crossover movies), and obviously Power Rangers. Power Rangers had a crossover with TMNT, which has connections to not only other versions of TMNT but also other series like Batman (basically the whole DC universe is involved), Archie, X-Files, Ghostbusters, Rabbids (they were an extra character in a fighting game, as like a promotion for the new game), and all the toons that showed up in Cartoon All-Stars, like the Smurfs, Alf, Garfield, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Winnie the Pooh (which is already tying back up to Kingdom Hearts), Muppet Babies, Looney Toons, and Ducktales.
Now Muppet Babies is part of the Muppet franchise, the Muppets are connected to Sesame Street, which opens up a can of worms for connections. Some characters cameoed in Between the Lions, Mr Rogers' Neighbor Hood, The Electric Company, Reading Rainbow, Poky Little Puppy, and a bunch of these characters appeared in a We are Family music video, which has *inhales* Bear in the Big Blue House, Barney, Arthur, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, Rugrats, The Magic School Bus, SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Blue's Room, Blue's Clues, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Kim Possible, The Proud Family, LazyTown, Lilo & Stitch: the Series, Madeline,Little Bill, The Fairly OddParents, Zoom, AND a whole bunch more shows.
Obviously Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Odd Parents had a crossover (three in fact), but those other shows had crossovers too, like Rugrats having a crossover with Wild Thornberrys, Lilo and Stitch had crossovers too, they had crossovers with The Proud Family, Kim Possible, Recess, and American Dragon Jake Long. Spongebob is connected to a lot of Nicktoons shows through the bumpers on the channel and had a major crossovers with Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, Tak, and Invader Zim in the Nicktoons Unite games.
Looney Toons is connected to all other Hanna Barbera property, which had crossovers as well (look at Scooby Doo and Tom and Jerry, they're LOADED with crossovers with other series), as for the Looney Toons cast themselves, examples include Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pokemon (in a commercial in Kids WB), The Justice League, Wild Kratts (Kinda? The two characters, Road Runner and Wild E. Coyote, were pretty much referenced as a way to say that real life coyotes can catch up to road runners), and The Amazing World of Gumball. And Pokemon had a crossover game with Nobunaga's Ambition called Pokemon Conquest. AND Ducktales is connected to Darkwing Duck and the same goes with the reboot.
Okay now back to where we started, Power Rangers had a crossover episode with Masked Rider, which is an adaptation of Kamen Rider Black RX, Kamen Rider had a FEW crossovers with other series, like Crayon Shin-chan, Pac-Man, Osomatsu-San, Hello Kitty, Pretty Cure, and a few others. Pretty Cure only had crossovers with itself but there is one pic floating around the internet showing one of the Cures standing in front of Arresterdramon Superior Mode, so it might hint to a commercial happening during that time. Hello Kitty has a ton of crossovers with different series, such as Sonic, Cookie Run, Pac-Man, Puzzles and Dragons, Doraemon, Yokai Watch, and several others. In Osomatsu-San Hesokuri Wars, they have costumes/sets of the six brothers being yokai, magical girls, monsters, angels, knights, super heroes, greek
gods, and others. Yokai is also connected to Yokai Watch, which has it's own crossovers with other series, like Final Fantasy, Terminator, Inazuma Eleven (which had commercials that crossed over with Despicable Me), The Seven Deadly Sins, Detective Conan, Hello Kitty (which brings this back to Hello Kitty and its crossovers), Inuyasha, Professor Layton, and several others. Professor Layton had a crossover game with Ace Attorney, which has many references and a small amount of crossovers.
Now let's move on to another Spider-Man, the one from Ultimate Spider-Man, obviously he's connected to the other Marvel shows that take place in that universe, but Spider-Man had crossover episodes/specials with Phineas and Ferb and Jessie, Jessie having connections with other Disney Sit-com shows like Austin and Ally, Good Luck Charlie, Liv and Maddie, and a few others, HOWEVER Mr. Moseby from the Suite Life of Zach and Cody appeared in one episode, which means that Jessie is in the same universe as That's So Raven, Hannah Montanna, Cory in the House (yeah yeah yeah, i can hear the anime memes from a mile away -_-), and Wizards of the Waverly Place. Phineas and Ferb also had crossover specials/episodes with Star Wars and Milo Murphy's Law, Star Wars has many crossovers and references in other shows, like the Muppets, Seasame Street, Captain N, Mario (in that old Mario cartoon episode where they parodied it), Putt-Putt, Megaman, Duke Nukem, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, Dragon Ball, Transformers, Metal Gear, Angry Birds, Lego, Club Penguin, and several others.
The Star Wars references were in Megaman V and Megaman Zero, sprites from Megaman Zero were used to create sprites of TV Tome Adventures, which then became TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise and then it turned into the video game version of that show, the creator of the show, Kirbopher, did an animation related to Super Mario RPG, and had many voice roles like in Mob Psycho 100, Pokemon, and other series. Dragon Ball is the prequel of Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Z Super made it clear that there's other universes so all of those are connected as well, and Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z had crossovers with other shows like One Piece, Dr Slump, Astro Boy, Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo, and a few others. Metal Gear had crossovers and references in Terminator, Gundam, Castlevania, Mario, Zelda, Ape Escape, Yugioh (which connects itself to the other seasons like GX, 5D's, Zexal, Arc-V, and Vrains), Monster Rancher, Yoshi, The Standley Parable (only in the demo), and several others. Transformers, since it's made by Hasbro, is also connected to other Hasbro property, such as My Little Pony (and Equestria Girls), and they had references to other series in both the show and in the IDW comics, like pony versions of Rick and Morty appearing in one episode, pony versions of characters from Sailor Moon, Gravity
Falls, Kill La Kill, Scooby Doo, Powerpuff Girls, Frozen, and few other shows and even pony versions of IRL people like Gordon Ramsey. Transformers had crossovers and references to other series as well such as G.I Joe, Doctor Who, Spider Man, Star Wars, Marvel, and several other shows, and apparently Jem, Inhumanoids, C.O.P.S, and Robotix takes place in the Transformers universe.
Angry Birds had crossovers with other series like Rio, Star Wars, Puzzles and Dragons, Transformers, Sonic, The Muppets, and many levels in their games make references to other series. Lego Dimensions is full of crossovers, like The A-Team, Adventure Time, Back to the Future, Beetlejuice, DC Comics, Doctor Who, E.T, Fantastic Beasts, Ghostbusters (both the original and the 2016 reboot), The Goonies, Gremlins, Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Knight Rider, Legends of Chima, other Lego property, Lord of the Rings, Midway Arcade, Mission: Impossible, Portal, Powerpuff Girls, Scooby-Doo, Simpsons, Sonic, Teen Titans Go!, and The Wizard of Oz. Speaking of The Simpsons, they had crossovers with other shows like Family Guy and Futurama, AND they cameoed appeared in South Park, and Family Guy is in the same universe as American Dad and The Cleveland Show. The Simpsons also had crossovers with The Critic, X-Files, King of the Hill, Robot Chicken, Bob's Burgers (which means it's also connected to the Archer Show), Rick and Morty, and several series get mentioned in the show itself. As for Sonic, he had a crossover comic series with Megaman, he had crossovers in the comics with Sabrina the Teenage Witch and DC (it was part of a Sonic Super Special comic but for some reason the Wikis won't tell me if it's generally DC or some part of it >:/ ), Sonic had levels in Sonic Lost World that were crossovers with NiGHTS, Legend of Zelda, and Yoshi's Wooly World, in Sonic Forces, there's DLC costumes that are based off of NiGHTS, Beat from Jet Set Radio, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, and Joker from Persona 5. Sonic had crossover games with other SEGA series, but in Sonic Dash, they had events that had crossovers with Angry Birds, Hello Kitty, and Pac-Man. In one of the Vocaloid games, Miku had a costume that was a Sonic hoodie, to celebrate Sonic's anniversary, Vocaloid made many songs and some of these songs branch out into their own series, one of them being Black Rock Shooter, and i swear BRS was a guest character in some fighting game but i don't remember what the name was.
Okay, now let's head back to Marvel, one of the characters that's paired up with Spider-Man (except for the Movie universe) is Deadpool, and in one comic, he takes a girl to see Hamilton. In one of the Hamildrops, they did a crossover song which was a mix of Story of Tonight and You'll be Found from Dear Evan Hansen called "Found Tonight", one of the actors from Dear Evan Hansen is now playing the role of Jeremy in Be More Chill, and in the original 2015 performance of BMC, the actor who played Jenna also played Martha in Heathers, and Eric William Morris, who played Squip, also played Jordan in The Ballad of Little Jo. And since we're using actors to connect series...*inhales* Lin Manuel Miranda (who plays Alexander in Hamilton) also had roles in In The Heights, 21 Chump Street, Mary Poppins Returns, Ducktales Reboot, Do No Harm, Looking for Maria Sanchez, Sesame Street, House M.D, and a few others. Mary Poppins Returns is a sequel to the original Mary Poppins so they instantly connect, and i'm gonna make a crazy theory of House M.D taking place in the same city (or state) as Blue Bloods and Forever, both shows have characters played by Eric William Morris, who had roles in Trust, Greed, Bullets, and Bourbon, Royal Pains, As The World Turns, and few other small roles. But one of his current roles is Carl from King Kong Broadway, which is based off of King Kong, and King Kong had a crossover film with Godzilla, and there's a short film that had Ultraman and Kamen Rider (i think it was Godzilla?? It was a giant lizard thing :/). However, King Kong was the inspiration behind Donkey Kong, which now has connections to both Mario and Donkey Kong series. Donkey Kong had crossovers/references with Frogger, Pitfall, Qubert, Mickey (from Disney), Punch Out, Mother, Earthworm Jim, Kirby, Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Scott Pilgrim, The Fast and the Furious, Class of 3000, Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Big Bang Theory, Metroid, Pushmo, Minecraft, Gravity Falls, Wreck It Ralph, Pixels, Skylanders, several others, and had japanese exclusive songs in Donkey Konga that had songs from Super Sentai, Pretty Cure, Pikmin, Naruto, Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo Bo, Fullmetal Alchemist, Dragon Ball Z, Star Fox, Fire Emblem, Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers, and several others.
Minecraft had a Super Mario texture pack in the Switch version of Minecraft, plus a Steven Universe texture pack as well, there are console exclusive skins based off of characters from Gears of War, Halo, Banjo-Kazooie, Dust, Tony Hawk, Left 4 Dead, Boarderlands, Conker, Half-Life, Portal, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, and several other shows. Steve from Minecraft can be an unlockable character in games like Super Meat Boy, Choplifter, Retro City Rampage, and Creepers can be found in Blocks that Matter, Boarderlands, Torchlight, and Minecraft is refernced in Adventure Time, Octodad, The Stanley Parable, Skyrim, and South Park. And since Minecraft has Halo skins, this ties into Red VS Blue, a show that uses assets from the Halo series. And Red VS Blue appeared in a promotional video alongside the main cast of RWBY. Mother (or Earthbound) is the inspiration for Undertale, which had a sequel called Deltarune, and in one of the locations in Deltarune is a place called "Ice-E's Pezza", and Burgerpants mentions a guy named "Purple Guy" which is a reference to Purple Guy from Five Nights at Freddies. Crash Bandicoot had two crossover games with Spyro the Dragon and had references in Uncharted, Futurama, Johnny Test, Family Guy, Jimmy Neutron, The Country Bears, Jak and Daxter, Friends, The Simpsons, Tomb Raider, and several others. And Mickey is one of the characters in Kingdom Hearts, so now we come in full circle with Matpat's theory.
So started with Spider-man (well two versions of Spider-man) and ended it with Mickey, i'm sure there's other series out there that i forgot to bring up but eh, this is long enough :/

DEATH BATTLE Review: Mega Man Battle Royale.
Cue the Mega Man 2 theme!
Five robots. All with the name Mega Man. Time to find out which one is the strongest one there is!
Mega Man Classic Preview.
We all know this story. Doctor Light created several robots to try and help out the world at large. But then that dastardly Doctor Willy took them, and made them evil. To combat this, we got the first, the classic, the original… Mega Man.
Tumblr media
And we even get to go over his many… many weapons. Thanks to his variable weapons system, Rock has a plethora of firepower to work with, and a lot of variety to utilize in a fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From his trust Mega Buster, to his various elemental weapons, Rock has an answer for everything. And his Gear System from 11 can give him an extra edge up.
Tumblr media
And if he’s ever in a pickle, Rock can call up his trusty companion, Rush to give him an edge up.
Tumblr media
And if you’re wondering about feats, Rock has plenty to work with.
Tumblr media
Though, of course, he does have his fair share of weaknesses. He’s not necessarily invincible, his weapons have limited ammunition, and he wasn’t designed for combat.
Tumblr media
But in the end, Mega Man is a power house. If a crazy German is trying to take over the world, there’s only one man to call:
The Mega Man.
Mega Man X Preview.
And we fast forward into the future, where Doctor Cain, discovers a new kind of replicated human called a reploid. These beings had A.I.s so great, that they were practically human. But then some of them ended up going… Maverick.
In order to combat this new threat, Cain called in Sigma. But, we all know how well that went. So he went with the backup plan: Mega Man X.
Tumblr media
X, surprise surprise, has a Mega Buster, and the ability to copy other weapons. And he’s specifically built to be better than the OG Mega Man……… So we already know two of the combatants that are going down, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, he’s still got weapon energy to worry about. But he’s got plenty of weapons to choose from. And if he needs some extra firepower, X can call upon his Ultimate Armor.
Tumblr media
This gives him extra firepower, and channels his inner Street Fighter fan and lets X use legendary moves like the Hadoken and the Shoryuken.
Tumblr media
And of course, he’s got feats. That healing though… That would make him hard to put down.
Tumblr media
But in the end, if a nutball virus that’s controlling a powerful robot is trying to take over the world, there’s only one man to call:
Mega Man X.
Mega Man. Volnutt Preview.
So, fast forward again, and we land in a new year where the Earth has flooded. And we all basically died because we got that shitty. Hey, if we had a bunch of wars that ended up killing everyone, and kept letting the top 1% run the show, I’d say that we deserve it.
But the humans on a space station were basically running the whole thing. But then they died too. Except for one, called The Master. And his Carbon known as Mega Man Trigger. And The Master decided that the Carbons deserved to run the planet, since there are more of them. But then a bunch of crazy stuff happened, and left Trigger without his memories thanks to a being named Sera, and left him on Earth. This left him stranded, and the new natives gave him the dumbest name they could think of: Volnutt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
God this is weird.
Tumblr media
So, he decided to battle evil, stop the Master System, and try to regain his lost memories.
Tumblr media
The downside to his special weapons is that they all draw from the same power source, and that they have to be swapped out manually.
But he’s got a list of feats to pull from to win the day.
Tumblr media
In the end, if you need a man to be stranded on the moon for nearly two decades, there’s only one man to call:
Mega Man Volnutt.
MegaMan.EXE Preview.
In an alternate timeline, Doctor Light, now known as Tadashi Hikari, focused on the internet and digital A.I instead of robotics. His work would create an entire universe known as the Cyber-World that would be managed by A.I systems called NetNavis, and one kid named LAN would get one of the strongest Navis of all: Mega Man.EXE.
Tumblr media
Like all the Mega Men before him, Hub has a Mega Buster, and can even grab enemy weapons for his own weapons system thanks to the Battle Chips he has on hand.
Tumblr media
And with over 1,500 Battle Chips, LAN and .EXE have basically an army’s worth of weapons to choose from.
And since .EXE is a digital program, and not an organic being, he’s survived a ton of punishment.
Tumblr media
And in case you’re wondering “Wait! He’s digital. Can he even fight in the real world?”- The answer is “Yes.”
Tumblr media
.EXE has been able to come to the real world on a few occasions, and has even fused with LAN through Full Synchronization. And with Perfect Synchro (No relation to Yu-Gi-Oh), .EXE can even retain his weapons and abilities. This is a good thing, considering all the crazy feats that .EXE has on hand.
Tumblr media
And as it turns out, .EXE is actually LAN’s stillborn baby brother turned into a computer program, which helps with that whole “Perfect Synchro” thing. Which means that the planet-busting Cybeast exploding comes around to that number you see up there.
But at the end of the day, when a bunch of evil viruses are trying to destroy an entire cybernetic universe, there’s only one man to call:
MegaMan.EXE.
Starforce Mega Man (Geo) Preview.
Going ahead a few more years (Give or take a hundred or two), humanity has moved past cyberspace and onto radio waves. But then a guy named Kelvin Stellar got kidnapped by a bunch of FM-ians, or FM Aliens… God what the fuck happened to this franchise?- What’s wrong with a young robot fighting evil robots to save the world?- Was it not big enough?
Anyways, to fight back against these… FM-ians, Geo ended up merging with another form of these guys who is apparently an AM-Ian named Omega. Because a cyber-being named after a Greek letter of the alphabet is always someone you can trust. But they merged into a brand new being known as Starforce Mega Man
Tumblr media
(Wow. First Hub, and now Geo. What do these guys have against ghosts?- I know what jooke I’m using whenever Danny Phantom shows up (And for those of you wondering, he’s not in the next battle)).
But, as a being that is composed of EM waves, Geo can effectively be unseen, unheard, and untouched by any other human beings.
Tumblr media
And thankfully, this Mega Buster has some differences from the others. Like how it automatically charges up on its own, but it can be modified to change it’s power, speed, and status effects.
Anyways, onto the rest of the weapons. And with 600+ equips, Geo has an arsenal on his hand at all times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he can even control “Noise” a term used to describe excess energy created by EM Beings. He can even absorb a lot of it to access a super form known as “Red Joker” who can scatter your remains across the atmosphere after he uses a blast that turns you into EM Particles. Yeesh, remind me to never piss off any aliens made up of EM Particles. You never know which ones might end up having that form or ability on hand, er… appendage?- What would an EMbeing call those anyways?
Tumblr media
With all that power, Geo and Omega have a resume to boot. They’ve taken on plenty of enemies. Including a being that could move a  black hole that was 4 million times bigger than the sun.
Tumblr media
And Geo tanked attacks from Sirius (The one that did that)! In order to pull off a feat like that would require over 4.6 Decillion Megatons of TNT. Looks like Optimus now places second for how largest amount of force one can output to Geo.
And since other EMBeings can move from the center of the Milky Way to Earth in about three days. Putting them over three million times the speed of light. Considering that Geo could basically survive a black hole like it was nothing, this means that it’s likely that he could do the same.
And unlike all the other Mega Men, Starforce managed to make sure that his world ended up peaceful.
So, at the end of the day, when the world is in danger of being destroyed or overrun by alien beings made up of Electro-Magnetic waves, there’s only one man to call:
Starforce Mega Man.
I gotta say: Doing all these callbacks to the end of Classic’s rundown from Mega Man vs. Astro Boy was kinda fun.
The battle itself.
Luis is lead on this battle and he’s backed by Zack and Kiid. Brandon on the music, Mega Mania. Jerky on Spriteart, and Chris Kokkinos on sound. No voice actors (thank goodness. I’m not in the mood, nor do I have the time to look up their twitter accounts).
So, for those who saw the preview, we know that the main reason they fight is because they all just show up in the same location. Eh, it could be worse. There are some fights that could have been improved without a story to them.
Tumblr media
So, as the preview showed, Classic, Volnutt, and X all kinda… Get to the ground while Geo and Hub kinda just… duke it out up top.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately for Classic, X is canonically his superior in every way. This puts him at a disadvantage against the Maverick Hunter. However, Rock has a trick up his sleeve.
Tumblr media
His Super Adaptor armor.
But, it’s not like X is a stranger to having a super form as well, and he breaks out his own armor.
Tumblr media
And the Black Hole Bomb is launched, but it’s not like X is a stranger to this, as he breaks out rather menacingly.
Tumblr media
(Anyone here watching DIU?- I’m excited to see the Highway Star arc dubbed)
So, spoiler alert: Volnutt is the first to fall. Without any fancy tech, or FTL capabilities, he’s not escaping the Black Hole Bomb.
Tumblr media
But, as stated before, since X is Rock’s superior in every way, Rock goes down next.
Tumblr media
(Don’t worry, X gets better).
And after X pulls himself back together, he opts to blast his opponent with the Mother Elf attack.
But…
Tumblr media
Star Force is made up of EM waves, which means he can physically fight back.
It also means he can hack X and basically knock him down.
Tumblr media
So the final battle is between Starforce Mega Man, and MegaMan.EXE.
Which means the finishing blow comes in
5…
4…
3…
2…
1…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the winner is MegaMan.EXE!
Verdict + Explanation.
So, as it turns out, it really boils down to Starforce and .EXE.
Tumblr media
X’s Mother Elf attack wasn’t much to do either, as both Starforce and .EXE were experienced with that kind of attack.
Tumblr media
But you might be thinking “Starforce held back in his fight with EXE so to not cause a paradox! Shouldn’t that mean that Starforce is stronger?” And to answer that… No.
Both combatants were holding back in their fight.
Tumblr media
And at best, Starforce’s speed is 3 million times that of the speed of light. But remember that time when EXE traveled the entire Cyberworld to find something that could help him save Bass.EXE?- Since the Cyberworld is an actual cybernetic universe and not just a hard drive or a file on a computer, it means that it’s comparable  to our own. Since MegaMan.EXE couldn’t have been gone too long, on account that Bass.EXE didn’t have a lot of time to survive an attack, this means that MegaMan.EXE’s best speed would have to be…
Tumblr media
……… Remember when Darkseid, a literal GOD, had the best speed feat recorded?
Tumblr media
Also, unlike X, who is explicitly stated to be better than Mega Man Classic, Starforce isn’t stated to be better than EXE despite coming after him in canon material. And his healing and defensive powers gave him a leg up.
And if you’re thinking “Wait! Wouldn’t EXE’s speed feat be an outlier without anything to back it up?”- There’s a popup for that too.
Tumblr media
And with moves like Uninstall and Interrupt, EXE could basically just steal or stop any of Starforce’s attacks. He could do it to all the other Mega Men’s weapons with it too……… Except for Volnutt, interestingly enough (Hey, gotta throw him a bone after Legends 3 was cancelled).
In the end, all the Super Fighting Robots had plenty of firepower. But if you want a Mega Man to rule them all, there’s only one man to call:
Tumblr media
MegaMan.EXE
Overall impression
Too many zeros. Like, I can’t really concentrate on this fight with that many zeros on one little programing droid!
I mean… Yay?- Now I have an excuse to make it so that Ultron is a non-problem in the story, but still? That’s a lot of zeros on EXE.
I like the fight, and the jokes are pretty good, but I can’t get over those zeros.
Like… the music is great, the animation is solid, and the research is sound, but still.
Those zeros…
8.5/10. Ah, goddammit. More zeros.
Next time…
Someone’s husband is dead.
Tumblr media
So, a ballerina turned (literal) cold-blooded assassin against a super-spy trained by who knows how many people? I was honestly expecting Nat to fight Huntress or Black Canary. And for Widow to fight… Literally anyone else with a sniper. I would have honestly had taken Ruby Rose vs Widowmaker.
Whatever. Join us next time as we cover…
Redhead Spider-Lady vs. Purple Spider-Lady.
Is there a fight that you want me to review? - Send an ask/request, and I’ll look into it!
Do you want to read my fanfic based around DEATH BATTLE itself? click here!
Thank you for reading, and I hope to see you next time for…
Spider-Lady vs. Lady-Spider.
So many zeros… *insert whimpering noises here*

Your Words On My Skin - Chapter One
A not-so-short drabble I did that was requested by @aforetempus413. They wanted to see soulmates and Iambic Prose and hopefully I delivered! I know I now have my girlfriend coming after me for not writing more.

Don’t forget I’m doing more cool things on my Patreon all the time! I also have a Ko-Fi so consider buying me a coffee if you can’t pledge!
Title: Your Words On My Skin
Alternate Universe: Soulmate AU - whatever you write or draw on your skin appears on the skin of your soulmate
Pairing: Pre Iambic Prose - Danny Phantom x Ghostwriter (Andrew Riter)
Rating: G+
Inspired By: Request given by aforetempus413
Summary: Danny Fenton was born with writing on his arms that proved he had a soulmate out there for him that was much, much older than his parents were comfortable with. The result was his skin being covered as much as possible and Danny warned that he shouldn't look at the words or write any back. Danny has always been a little bit curious as to who his soulmate was, but he never thought on how curious his soulmate was about him.
<<Next Chapter>>
::
“Oh, Jack… Isn’t he beautiful?” Maddie Fenton was exhausted, sweaty, and wanted nothing more than a very long bubble bath, but all of that was easily pushed to the side as she held her baby boy in her arms for the very first time. Jack was squeezed onto the bed beside her and already tearing up as he gently played with their baby’s hand. “Our sweet little Daniel.”
“Daniel James Fenton,” Jack laughed, the noise quiet and rumbling in his chest as he squeezed them both close. “He’s amazing, Mads.” Nodding, Maddie paused as she saw something on the back of Danny’s arm.
“Jack? What’s that?” Maddie shifted Danny in her arms, Jack careful as he turned the baby’s arm around and oh… Soulmate writing. “His soulmate is already born?”
“Could be a few years older than him,” Jack mused. “Crazy timing, though. It usually takes a few years for writing to show up, doesn’t it?”
“My sister had hers show up when she was a few months old, but Danny hasn’t been here for even an hour.” Carefully shifting her baby, Maddie took the arm and inspected it, heart dropping as she looked- As she read the writing. “Jack.”
She wasn’t sure if Jack tensed at her tone or the words, but they both saw it there clear as day. The words were cramped and close together on such a small arm, but there were sentences. Full, complete, and complex sentences were winding their way around Danny’s arms and the sight filled Maddie with a crushing fear and motherly instinct to hide her baby’s skin as quickly as possible. “Just how much older is his soulmate…?”
Doodles and maybe a few words would be nothing. It would have been fun to take pictures of all the words and show Danny when he was older, but this? This wasn’t the writing of a five-year-old, or a ten-year-old, and seeing some of the words used that she hadn’t even known until college- “Oh, Danny.”
Her son had only just been born and it looked like his soulmate had been in the world already for quite a while. By the time Danny was fifteen, how old would his soulmate be? Thirty? Fourty? Older? She couldn’t… Soulmates were precious, but they were all still so human. She couldn’t put her baby through that.
“Mads?” Jack rubbed at her arm, Maddie looking down to where a half-scribbled science formula was written across both their arms. Soulmates were precious, but if it was between that and her baby’s safety… “Maddie, I know what you’re thinking.”
“Just until he’s older.” If Danny grew up with that, then parents and children alike would judge him. They would torment him. “We can cover up his arms and make sure he’s covered just until he’s a little bit older. Until we can explain it to him. Not all soulmate matches are perfect.”
Jack didn’t say anything, but Maddie knew that he knew the same as her. Danny having a mate that was so much older than him would be hell. They could just… They would wrap up his arms and encourage him to stay covered until he was older. Hopefully- Hopefully he would be able to forgive him.
“Oh, my sweet baby boy.” Maddie reached for the baby blanket that had been left for them, wrapping Danny up in it until not a bit of skin besides his face showed. “Don’t you worry, Danny. We’ll keep you safe.”
And that’s what Maddie Fenton did for years. She made sure to keep Danny’s arms covered with clothes, bandages, or gloves, she always told him that it was important that no one see his skin if he could help it, and she gave him as many notebooks and sketchbooks as possible so he would always have something around him to write properly on. She even made him necklaces out of pens and pencils.
She knew it was wrong of her to hide his soulmate from him and to keep him from ever letting his soulmate know he was there, but she would rather suffer that sin than see her baby be hurt. There was a chance his soulmate was closer to his age and had merely been a child genius, but that was a very low chance and not one she was willing to risk.
It was horrible of her, but she kept her son as safe as possible and always made sure his sister knew what was at risk. She, Jack, and Jazz were the only ones to know why Danny needed to keep his skin covered, and if she had her way, they would be the only three to ever know. Soulmates weren’t the end of it all - there were people who were happy and weren’t soulmates. There were people who never had a soulmate. There were billions of people and she was positive her baby would find happiness even without a soulmate in his life. Danny didn’t need a soulmate to be happy.
That didn’t mean Danny wasn’t curious about it all, though. He knew he had to keep his skin covered for some reason and he wasn’t allowed to write or draw anything on it, but that didn’t stop him from studying other people’s skin.
He loved watching words and drawings appear on the skin of others, or watching a tic tac toe game play out across skin. It was fun to see a string of letters and numbers start out on his mom’s arm before being finished by his dad later that day when his mom was cooking dinner. He loved seeing Tucker’s doodles of computers and wires and game controllers being taken over by vines and flowers and sassy little remarks. He loved when Sam looked at him and made a shushing motion each and every time before pushing her sleeves down low enough to hide even her fingers.
The idea of writing something on his skin and having someone see it - someone who was meant for him see it - was an amazing idea. He knew his parents, though, and he knew better than to try something. It was possible that maybe he was allergic to ink, so they kept him from writing so he wouldn’t hurt himself and they kept him from watching his skin so he didn’t get disappointed. Or maybe writing on his skin hurt his soulmate and his parents had figured it out and wanted to protect them both.
People always found it a little odd he kept his skin so covered, but others did similar so he at least wasn’t the odd one out. Besides, it wasn’t like he was dying to know. He was curious and found it interesting, but not knowing wasn’t affecting his life.
“Danny? You alright?” Glancing over to Sam where she was drawing vines destroying a computer on her arm, Danny gave a weak smile.
“Yeah. Just thinking.” Alright, maybe it was affecting his life a little. “Hey, Sam?” Waiting until she hummed, Danny sighed. “Why don’t you ever tell him?”
“I like watching him struggle to figure it out. It’s fun to see his frustration,” Sam snickered, Danny trying not to laugh. “Besides, if he can’t match up handwriting, then he’s not ready to know.”
“You just like watching him suffer.” The other didn’t deny it, Danny hiding a smile. “Don’t you ever want him to know, though? I mean, you two are soulmates.”
“Yeah, but we’re friends first.” Friends first. That was a good way of looking at it. “I don’t know if I love him like that, so I’m content to just wait and see where things go.”
“You know, most people blush or avoid talking about stuff like this.” Wrinkling his nose as it was poked with the blunt side of the pen she was using, Danny stuck his tongue out. “You think you’ll ever tell him?”
“Do you think you’ll ever look at your skin?” Ah… Vicious as always. “You know, you could just ask your parents why you have to go through all of this.”
“I could, but they probably have a reason for all this and they’ll pull their ‘you’re not old enough’ excuse out.” Ah, Danny was getting too good at lying. “Besides, what soulmate would want someone who’s half ghost?”
“Shut up, you’re great and your powers are cool.” The two sat up as Lancer walked into the classroom, Sam side glaring at him. “You should ask them.”
“I’ll think about it.” He wouldn’t ask, though. It wasn’t that his parents had a good reason, which they might, but… Danny was afraid of them not having a good reason.
He would be fine. Soulmates weren’t all that important after all, right?
::
“You know, there’s a reason I keep bringing you back notebooks. Have you ever considered maybe using one?”
“Mm, why waste the paper?” Andrew jotted down his latest idea across the back of his arm, the rest of it already filled with bits of dialogue that he could use within the story itself. “I’ll transfer it over soon, anyways.”
“Yes, that’s what all my complaining is about. Wasting paper.” Pausing in his writing, Andrew swallowed before continuing on and ignoring his brother as best as possible. It was rather hard considering Randy didn’t know the meaning of the word ‘silence.’ “You’re going to have to talk about it eventually, you know.”
“I could, but we both know that I’m not going to.” Finishing the last line with a flourish, Andrew capped his pen and looked up at Randy. He made sure to keep his expression as neutral as possible. “When are you going to let all of this go?”
“When are you going to listen to me?” Uncapping the pen, Andrew met Randy’s gaze evenly before darting forward with as much speed as he could. The pen didn’t even touch Randy’s skin before he was on the floor, Randy sitting on his back and no doubt smirking. “Is this your way of asking to start training sessions back up?”
“No, this would be me telling you to go burn in hell.” Throwing his energy out to wrap around the closest book he could, Andrew pressed his first two fingers together and flicked them to the side sharply and snickered when he heard Randy yelp. “Please keep in mind we are in a library and I can keep this up all day.”
“Cheater.” Randy floated off of him before dragging him back to his feet, Andrew huffing as he started to cap his pen before pausing and scribbling something else down on the back of his hand. “Maybe I should just tie a notebook around your neck. Use a nice strong chain.”
“I’d break it within two seconds.” Wiggling free, Andrew shook Randy off and adjusted his clothes. “I don’t see why you continue to want to discuss this. It’s been decades and the same conversation every single time.”
“Oh? So you’re completely over it, then.” Both looked to where Andrew’s skin was filled with his writings and quick scribbles - and only his. Shaking his sleeves down, Andrew quickly headed for one of the study rooms in his lair, knowing Randy was following him from the simple fact it was Randy. “Andy-”
“Oh, please, spare me. There’s nothing that can be done. Some people have soulmates and others don’t and I’m someone who doesn’t need a soulmate. I’ve never needed one.” Brushing off Randy’s look a bit less effectively this time, Andrew only shook his head and continued on.
He didn’t need a soulmate after what he had gone through in his life- In his death. He was used to the silence and stillness of words never being returned. Besides, he didn’t need someone pure and untainted knowing what he had done. There was a reason he went by the name Ghostwriter, now. He didn’t need anyone else to ever know who he was- He didn’t need anyone to know what he had done.
The lack of a soulmate had made him the most effective assassin there had ever been in his time and now he had moved past that and he was an effective and dedicated writer. That was all that mattered. Effective was all he had ever needed to be.
“You’ve always wanted one, though.” Of course, Randy was effective in the way that he would never let this go. Turning back to throw a glare at him as menacing as possible, Andrew near flinched at the gentle look that was aimed at him. “You care too much, frérot. Your heart is far too big.”
“Heart? Heart?” Please. “You, grand frère, made sure I didn’t have a heart.” Turning on his heel, Andrew glared as Randy stumbled in his steps, viciously pleased at the hurt in his eyes. “What I write on my skin is of no matter to anyone but myself. Do you know why? Because it’s mine. My words, my worries, my fears, my thoughts, my skin. It belongs to no one but myself and it is mine. I have no need of a soulmate.”
“That doesn’t stop you from wanting one, though.” Ready to snap back, Andrew stopped when Randy shook his head. “Andy, look at where you write, sometimes. You write on your palms, the back of your hands, as far up your neck as you can. You write wherever there’s a chance of it being seen. You wouldn’t do that if you had accepted it.”
“Like you’re any different.” Randy’s skin was perfectly clean with not a spot of ink anywhere on him. “You used to draw on yourself all the time.”
“I did. Then I grew up.” Randy said it without a scrap of bitterness- He said it so casually. He said it as if he had accepted it and was okay with it. He… “Like I said, Andy. Your heart was always too big.”
As always, the fight drained out of Andrew as he fell forward, leaning his forehead against Randy’s shoulder. “That’s fighting dirty.” Randy laughed against him, hugging him tightly. “You think I would be used to the fact that life isn’t fair for me.”
“That’s what makes it all so fun, though.” Mm, he begged to differ. “You know, I really only came by to make sure you were eating before heading off on my next job.”
“Didn’t you just get back from the last one?” Andrew gave Randy as judging a look as he could, pleased when Randy looked away first. “You’re running yourself ragged.”
“Last one and then I’ll spend a few weeks annoying the shit out of you. It should only last a few days. It’s a relic hunt.” Mhm. For Randy, a relic hunt usually meant a good chance of almost dying at least three times - maybe more. “I’ll make whatever you want for lunch?”
“Better.” Andrew pushed himself off of Randy before pushing at him even more. “Go on, then. You know what I want by now.”
“So demanding,” Randy tsked, grinning anyways as he destroyed Andrew’s hair with his fingers before flying off. “Don’t get lost in your books, nerd!”
Waiting until Randy was truly gone to let his smile drop, Andrew sighed as he looked down to where he had scribbled a few words on his palm. Randy was right, at least. He did write in places where it would be easy to notice - not that anything ever came of it.
At first he thought his soulmate merely hadn’t been born yet, but he had grown older and older and there had been no answering scribbles or drawings in reply to his own. Then he had died and all hopes had died with him - more so when he met ghosts who still got markings from their soulmates.
There was no chance of his soulmate being younger than him when Andrew had been waiting for decades- And if his soulmate was born before Andrew then they had never bothered to contact them. Or perhaps, fittingly enough, they had died before communication could be had. That would be Andrew’s luck… That would be the Priest of Death’s luck.
Whatever the case was, Andrew had no soulmate and he needed to accept it and move on before he let it tear him apart. He couldn’t keep living with the idea that a part of him would never be complete because he would never meet his other half. It was a stupid way of thinking, anyways. It was a weak way of thinking. He needed to be better than this. He needed to be stronger than this.
“Make sure you write down that idea before it rubs off!” Not bothering to suppress a smile, Andrew sighed as he went to search for a notebook. “And stop writing on your palms before your lair yells at you for getting ink everywhere!”
Besides, he didn’t need a soulmate. He had Randy looking out for him and the two of them were just fine - just like they had always been. They were fine. Things were fine.
Maybe if he told himself that enough times he would believe it.
::
“Oh, come on… How am I supposed to remember all of this?” Danny felt something close to hopeless defeat at the string of numbers and letters that was Vlad’s password into his servers and databases and just what they needed to see what the man was up to now. “Dammit, Vlad.”
Of course Vlad had to come up with a password that was more complicated than anything else he had ever seen. Maybe it would be fine if Danny could use a piece of paper and a pen to write it down, but this was Vlad. The second something went missing or was out of place he would know about it and then he would know that Danny had been there snooping. He could use his phone- Oh, wait, no, he couldn’t, because Tucker had disassembled it.
Tugging at his hair in frustration, Danny near screamed as he realized there was no way of getting that password without writing it down on something- Danny looked down at his arms and the pen that was hanging around his neck. If he… If he wrote it down on his skin now, then he could write it down on paper as soon as he got home.
“Okay. Okay, think this through, Fenton. If you write on your skin then it’s possible your soulmate will see it. That could be good?” Or… “Or you could be hurting yourself or your soulmate by writing on your skin. Right. Great. Brilliant. Just perfect.”
Time limit. Vlad would figure out the distraction was a distraction soon enough and Danny needed to be gone before that happened, so he needed to do something now- “Oh, Mom and Dad are so going to kill me for this.”
Tearing his glove off, Danny pushed the sleeve of his suit up and grabbed the pen around his neck, looking for a blank spot to write the password down and pausing at seeing how his arm was covered in writing. He knew he had a soulmate that was always writing - it was hard not to know something like that when showering and getting dressed every day, but he had never really thought about how much his soulmate wrote.
Curiosity already taking over, Danny slid off his other glove and stared at how there was just as much writing, although the writing on his left arm was a little bit neater. His soulmate must be right… Right handed. Huh. Danny knew something about his soulmate. Danny knew that his soulmate was right handed. It was such a stupid little thing to get excited about, but he knew something about his soulmate.
“At least you shouldn’t feel any pain from words appearing on your skin,” Danny mused, pen held loosely in his fingers as he looked at the strings of sentences wrapped around him. There was so much that was written down.
‘“I promised myself I would never fall for anyone. I wasn’t look to fall and then I met you and oh, god, I lost so badly.”’ ‘The air seemed to freeze and still inside his lungs, Ab unable to even move as the words rang through his mind. Two words, yet they carried with them the promise of everything.’ ‘Andrea pressed her back up against the stone bricks and held her breath, heart near shaking in her chest as she heard heavy steps follow after her. If she was found now… It would all be over.’ ‘“Oh, Mason… You’ve always wanted to find the truth behind Mavis. You’ve always wanted to help her. You heart, little brother, is far too big.”’
They were stories. Everything on his arms were snippets and excerpts from what seemed to be story after story after story and they were all- They were all absolutely amazing. Each snippet seemed like a story in of itself and Danny wanted to know more- He wanted to read more. Maybe he could write a message and ask his soulmate to write a bit more of the stories?
Maybe- No. No, no, no, he wasn’t- He wasn’t even supposed to be looking at his skin. He wasn’t supposed to be looking at any of this! Chewing at his lip and pulling his glove over his right hand, Danny looked back to his left and this was a bad idea. He could always break into Vlad’s lab and get the password another time, but if he wrote anything down then his soulmate would know he was out there. His soulmate would know that he was out there. That there was a match for him. That… Fifteen years and there hadn’t been a single spot of ink that hadn’t been put there by his soulmate, so if they saw something now and then nothing after that… Not even Danny could be that cruel.
“Sorry.” He wasn’t apologizing to his soulmate. Gripping his pen tightly, Danny quickly scribbled the password he needed across his left palm, right where there was free space and right where it would be seen as clearly and quickly as possible. He would have to figure out what to tell his parents later, but for now Danny tucked his glove back over his hand and capped his pen.
He wasn’t sure how he got out of Vlad’s mansion so quickly or how he got back to Amity Park so fast, but it seemed between one moment and the next he was sitting in Sam’s room and copying down the password in one of his notebooks.
“You actually wrote something down on your skin. You never write on your skin. Holy shit, why do you have so much written on your skin?” Tucker was near bouncing around him as he fretted and worried, Danny doing his best not to laugh.
“It was an emergency.” Tearing the paper off and handing it up to Tucker, Danny stared at the palm of his hand for a moment longer before grinning. He didn’t bother to scrub the letters and numbers away. “I don’t see why you’re freaking out. You write on your skin all the time.”
“Yeah, but you don’t!” Mm. He hadn’t, at least. “Dude, your parents and sister are gonna flip. They’re always so paranoid about your skin being covered. I mean- I thought it was just where your soulmate kept writing swear words or something.”
“Nice, Tuck. Real classy,” Sam snorted, sleeves tucked under her fingers as she grinned at Danny. “Having fun being the rebel, then?”
“Sam, come on.” Danny grinned, leaning back against the bed and knocking into Sam’s legs from where she was sitting down. “When don’t I?”
“If your sister tries to kill me over this, then I’m revoking your best friend status.” Tucker studied the piece of paper for a moment before heading over to Sam’s computer. “Sam, I’m using your computer.”
“You could ask, you know.” The two watched as Tucker stared at them both before flicking the computer on. “Ass.”
“You love me for it.” Seeing the sappy look Sam was getting, Danny cleared his throat. “Right. Your soulmate problems.”
“I wouldn’t call them problems.” At the dual looks, Danny stuck his tongue out. “Shut up. It’s just- It’s complicated, but it’s not really a problem.” Not yet, anyways.
“It might be when your soulmate finally sees you wrote something back.” Shit. He hadn’t really thought that far, yet. “There’s still time for you to erase it, you know. Cover your arms back up and ignore it all.”
“That…” Danny looked down at his arms, his coat on the ground beside him and leaving his skin bare to the world. “I don’t think I can do that, Sammy.” Beautiful lines of stories he wanted to know more than anything twirled around his skin in such a way that they looked like tattoos with how uniform and pressed together the words were. “That seems…”
“Like you’d be running away?” No- Yes, but also no. It was that, but it was more than that, too. It was so much more than that.
“That seems cruel.” His soulmate wrote so much. His entire body was filled with words and Danny knew with everything in him that it was to try and grab the attention of whoever had the words mirrored on their own skin. “That seems way too cruel.”
“And finally replying back with a random string of letters and numbers isn’t?” Pausing at that, Danny looked back to his left palm and- And shit. That- Fuck.
“I don’t think I thought this one through very well.” Because it would be one thing to say hi, or yell at the other for writing so much, or even write down a list of things to buy, but writing something so random? “How much do you think my soulmate will hate me for this?”
“Oh, Danny.” Sam leaned over and ruffled his hair fiercely, Danny whining and trying to fight her off even as he fought against the laughter that came bubbling up. “I don’t think you have to worry about your soulmate hating you.”
::
It wasn’t making sense. No matter how much Andrew counted every single object in the room or pinched himself or even poked himself with one of his knives, he wasn’t waking up. He was contemplating throwing himself off somewhere very tall when Randy walked in and ah, perfect, another way to wake himself up. “I need you to shoot me.”
To dream Randy’s credit, the man didn’t automatically turn into something strange or start lecturing him on his choice in reading material. He was acting very much like real Randy, though, in the way he took a few steps back, checked to make sure his guns were holstered, and gave Andrew a look as if he was insane.
“It’ll make sense when I wake up- Or I suppose it won’t for you, really, since you’re merely a dream manifestation of my real brother.”
“I would ask how much you’ve had to drink, but I’m not sure if I should be worried about alcohol or caffeine. You do know ghosts aren’t immune to the effects of those things, right?” Hm, his dream was quite realistic this time around, wasn’t it? “Andy, why do you want me to shoot you?”
“Because I’m dreaming and I would quite like to wake up. Used to I could do it by realizing I was in a dream by flying, but obviously I can’t do that anymore.” Shame, too. That was always the quickest way to wake himself up. “So I figure having you shoot me will trigger a traumatic enough memory that I’ll be forced awake.”
“Yeah, okay, I see your point, but say you weren’t dreaming and you asked me to shoot you.” Unlikely. “And then say I actually shot you to prove a point. I don’t think you’d be the only one dealing with something traumatic.”
“Good point, except for the fact it’s hypothetical and I’m dreaming.” Seeing that the other was about to ask why he thought he was dreaming, Andrew held his left palm up and glared. “This showed up on my hand.”
“Yes, and? Words typically show up on your hand when you write them- Did you go on a writing binge, again?”
“Yes- No, that’s not the point- Randy.” Andrew walked forward and held his palm up in front of Randy’s face. “This isn’t my handwriting. These aren’t my letters. I didn’t write this. I didn’t write this and it’s not coming off no matter how hard I scrub at it.”
“You…” The dream manifestation of Randy, because he had to be dreaming he had to, stared before grabbing his wrist and flipping his hand around to study the string of letters and numbers more closely. “A code?”
“I don’t know. I was reaching for a book, I saw something on my palm, I wanted to make sure it wasn’t an idea, and then I saw that. So, before my hopes get any higher, I would like to wake up now.”
“Andy…” No- No, see, that was a look very close to pity and Andrew didn’t want it. Andrew didn’t want a look like that. Not now. Not ever. “Andy, mon petit, you’re not asleep.”
“I have to be because I didn’t write this. This isn’t my lettering so I have to be asleep.” He didn’t have a soulmate. Andrew Claude Riter didn’t have a soulmate so why were words appearing on his skin? It didn’t make sense. It couldn’t make sense.
Instead of agreeing with him or saying something random that didn’t make sense like a dream should, Randy only held his hand between the both of his and squeezed lightly. “Andy. Andy, this isn’t a dream. You’re awake.”
“I’m…” Andrew watched as Randy freed a hand before giving a little flick. A pen appeared between his fingers before he was pressing it into Andrew’s palm and letting go completely. “I’m awake.”
“You’re awake. So… What are you going to do about it?” His soulmate- His soulmate had just written something on his skin- Their skin. He… He had a soulmate. “You could always write something back.”
“I- Why? Why now?” It had been- Andrew hadn’t been alive for long and he had been dead for so much longer, so why now would his soulmate’s words show up on his skin? “I’ve been writing for years so why would they write something now- It isn’t even a word! It’s just- Just some code!”
“That sounds like something you should ask your soulmate.” Randy hesitated for a moment before patting at Andrew’s cheek. “Does it matter if it’s late if it’s the happiness you want?”
“I…” Andrew watched as Randy gave him a smile, as if he had heard the answer he was waiting for, before walking off and away from him. “Randy?”
“I think I’ll make us some dinner. It should take a while, so maybe find something to do in the meantime until it’s done, yeah?” Randy tossed out a wave as Andrew looked back down to the pen he was still holding.
By the time he looked back up Randy was already gone, Andrew left staring at the doorway in slight frustration. “One day, I’ll get the last word in.” Uncapping the pen, Andrew looked down at his palm and okay. Okay, his soulmate was looking, now. He didn’t- This shouldn’t be something crazy or extravagant. He probably shouldn’t yell about the long silence, either. At least, not yet. Okay, then. Something simple. Easy? Something that could be said in a word or two that was short, concise, and to the point. Something his soulmate wouldn’t be scared responding to.
‘Hello.’ There. Right under the code and- Code. Was this a test? Would his soulmate not talk to him again unless he passed a test and figured out what that code meant? It seemed unlikely, but Andrew was also a ghost, so he was willing to have a little faith in strange things happening. Furthermore, was his soulmate a ghost? Maybe that’s why they never wrote back. Maybe they thought it would hurt because they were dead and their soulmate was alive- So why now? Why this silly string of characters that made no sense?
“This probably won’t work, you know. Nothing will come of it!” At least when Randy was here he could pretend he was rambling at him instead of to himself or his lair. “This is stupid, Randy!” Andrew threw himself into a nearby armchair, glaring at his palm. “You’re stupid.”
A string of letters and numbers and right underneath it were five letters written small and cramped. Andrew kind of regretted writing the word that small. What if his soulmate missed it? What if they didn’t see it? It wasn’t like it would be easy to pick out such a small word among so many.
“This is stupid.” Why should he even care, anymore? He had made peace with not having a soulmate. He had accepted it and moved- Alright, he might not have moved on, but he had accepted it. He wasn’t supposed to care. He wasn’t supposed to clutch a pen tight enough to break and stare at his palm as if it had the answer to every question in the universe. He was- He was supposed to- To do anything but that!
Fuck, he shouldn’t have even wrote that hello on his palm. Now his soulmate knew he was watching and what did he do now? Did they try to find out who the other was? Would his soulmate even tell him why he had been kept waiting for so long?
“Randy, I changed my mind! Do you have a wet washcloth!” Predictably, there was nothing but silence and, if he listened carefully enough, the sound of something cooking in the kitchen. Andrew didn’t want to say he was bitter, but he was bitter. “Fat lot of help you are, then.”
Closing his palm, Andrew groaned and threw his head back, staring up at the ceiling. “Do you think I’m mad for wanting this too, then?” His beautiful lair sang a response within his mind, notes played upon a violin tumbling through his head and bringing with it a tone of don’t worry you’re okay you’re safe it’s okay you can be happy you’re safe it’s okay. Andrew rather hated how much it made him relax.
“It’s stupid. It’s stupid wanting this so much.” He was just going to be disappointed in the end. That’s how it would go just as that was how it always went. He would probably have that hello on there for the rest of his unnatural life. He would always be waiting for a response that would never come.
“Why am I like this…” Looking back to his hand, Andrew uncurled his palm, looking at his… Two new letters. Two tiny letters written in black ink with a no doubt shaky hand. They were two letters written just for him- To him.
‘Hi.’

do all the even numbersssssss
~evil stare~
2) What fandoms do you write for and do you have a particular favourite if you write for more than one?
Ugh.... Animorphs, Marvel, Sailor Moon, Tomorrow People, Firefly, Gundam Wing, Princess Tutu, DC Comics universe, Smallville, Danny Phantom, YURI!!! On Ice, Supernatural, Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Daria, How To Train Your Dragon, Rise of the Guardians, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Power Rangers, Fullmetal Alchemist, Miraculous Ladybug, Phineas and Ferb, Gravitation, Yami no Matsuei, Weiss Kreuz, My Little Pony, FAKE, ElfQuest, Good Omens, Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Transformers, Stargate SG1, Pirates of the Caribbean, Highlander, The Sentinel, Boondock Saints, MacGyver, and a whole wild world of crossovers..... Yeesh. Anyway, I don’t have a particular favorite, though I will go through periods of working exclusively in one fandom or another before switching.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Fanfic genre? Probably Alternate Timeline/For Want Of A Nail fics, where a single change in the timeline causes events to play out differently. I also have a weakness for time-travel fics. ^_^
6) If you had to delete one of your stories and never speak of it again, which would it be and why?
I thought we agreed never to speak of it again?
8) Where do you take your inspiration from?
Everywhere. Literally everywhere. Frequently from just sitting around letting my brain wander.
10) In your fic A Wish Your Heart Makes, why did you decide to end it like that? Did you have an alternative ending in mind?
I’ll be completely honest: the moment I got the prompt, I knew how the story was going to end. If anything, I made it less angsty than originally intended.
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
Depends on the fandom. In Marvel, regardless of the universe, I love writing for Tony and his flashy misdirection and nicknames hiding a wealth of genius and depth and background that the surface never shows. I have similar reasons for enjoying writing Sam Winchester in Supernatural. However, in Fullmetal Alchemist I love writing for Jean Havoc, a theoretical background character who is still deeply important to the narrative and has all sorts of depths to explore despite his canon dissembling about how “I ain’t the brightest, but I get by”. Basically, I guess I just love characters that have way more going on in their heads than gets shown on screen.
14) How did you come up with the title for Twist The Sinews Of Thy Heart? - You can ask about multiple stories.
It’s actually a line from the poem “Tyger Tyger Burning Bright”. Appropriate choice for a fic that features a “crazy” angel rescuing technically extinct tiger cubs. eh?
16) How did you come up with the idea for Twist The Sinews Of Thy Heart?
My dear enabler @rodiniaorzetalthepenquin asked for “fluffy Sastiel with tiger” for her birthday, and by Chuck I delivered! XD
18) Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
Technically, yes, but I don’t exactly consider them abandoned. I have WIPs whose bunnies decided to fuck off to Monaco and chill with porn stars go on an extended vacation, and so they got put on the back-burner while I pursued other avenues in other fandoms, but I don’t think I’m capable of abandoning a WIP. I either finish it or straight-up kill it.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
There are a couple of fics that I wish I could have drawn out the resolution longer, but my momentum failed me.
22) Do you have a story that you look back on and cringe when you reread it?
Yep! Next?
24) How do you feel about writing smutty scenes?
Eh... I can do it when I need to, but it’s not my preferred thing to write.
26) Which part of your Amethystium fic was the hardest to write?
Definitely part five. I had to write it with just enough ambiguity to keep it from being too obvious exactly what I’d done so I wouldn’t get murdered by my readers.
28) What is something you wished you’d known before you started posting fanfiction?
The internet is full of people who all have different motivations for going online to read fan-created content. Some people are going to be friendly, some are going to be weirdly elitist about fandom, and some of those people are going to be assholes who want to tear you down just because they think they can and believe the internet anonymity will protect them from consequences. Don’t let them drive you out of what you love before you’re ready to move on to something new.
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
Not really? Maybe some of my really old Animorphs fics that I wrote when I was twelve upon which I look back and feel like I could have done so much better?
32) Are any of your characters based on real people?
Sure, sometimes. Mostly the blink-and-you-miss-them NPCs. Occasionally some of the bigger OCs are based off of real people, but I try not to tell people that, or of whom the character is a representation. ^_~
34) What’s the harshest criticism you’ve gotten?
Probably the person who kept harping over my “obvious” lack of understanding of genetics, when I’d actually done the research prior to writing the fic and had sources to back up my in-story numbers. The person kept after me until I just deleted the entire fic “pending rewrite” to get rid of the whole damn argument chain, and I’ve just never gotten around to reposting it. Not even sure I still have the original fic file, actually.... Anyway, that was both the harshest and most stupid criticism ever, and for twenty-two years of fic-writing, that’s pretty decent, I think. (I don’t count flames, because those are just haters being mean.
36) Can you give us a spoiler for one of your WIP’s?
...Sam has wings. ^_~
38) If you could collab with any other writer on here, who would it be? (Perhaps this question will inspire some collabs!) If you’re shy, don’t tag the blog, just name it.
Of the people with whom I would like to collaborate and with whom I have not already collaborated, probably @jupiterjames and @theriverscribe
40) Do people know you write fanfiction?
Some of them, if I trust them a whole hell of a lot or we’re mutually blackmailing each other because they write fanfic too. (Looking at you, @jupiterjames )
42) Song fic - What made you decide to use the song “Bailamos” for Harry Potter.
Honestly? The crackfic potential and the chance to write male/male dance choreography. ^^U
44) What is the last line you wrote?
Rarely was Castiel disappointed in the offerings, and even those disappointments were because he didn't care for the flavors, not because of any fault in the quality of the pastries or drinks offered.
46) I really loved your “Phoenix Ascending” fic. If you were ever to do a sequel, what do you think might happen in it?
Well, Michael would take over and stabilize Heaven, Gabriel would get rescued from Assmodickus without Ketch’s help, Lucifer would die sooner, and Jack and Mary would be rescued fairly close to canon with a few obvious differences. Probably. Maybe. If I was writing a sequel. ~shifty look~
48) What’s your favourite trope to write?
Irritatingly, I love writing Slow Burn. I also hate it. Because it’s slow. And long.
50) If you could write only angst, fluff or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why?
Fluff. Angst hurts to write, frankly, and as for smut.... Meh. I'm really not that good at writing it solo; it's a lot easier to do cooperatively when I have someone else's character reactions to react to, but even then the actual deed is not so important for me as the depths of emotions behind it, so... Fluff.
