“Say, how do you say ‘hello’ in Tagalog?” a simple question asked, but she can’t help her curiosity...!! She felt as though at this point, it wouldn’t do any harm in asking. A starlit smile went with her words; there wasn’t anything more to her question than wanting to make /somewhere/ feel a little bit like home.
❛   o---oh! well, um,   ❜      words tumble like scattered scrabble pieces.   all over the floor they are, and you’re left unable to form full, fruitful sentences with these tiles.    frankly,it was strange---- your mother’s side wasn’t necessarily a topic one would grow interest in, so the idea of her partaking curiosity in such an odd topic was ... relaxing. and the language, or rather dialects, that exclusively left her tongue for your years of living was something you’ve never heard of for a while. perhaps occasionally by these passing strangers, but it was never the same, all because the familiarity never blossomed forth from voices that struck a dead heart even number. the idea of ochako speaking the same language as your mother was alluring--- and maybe, just maybe, hearing her to say certain words wouldn’t be too immoral, right?

❛    with my limited knowledge of it thanks to not speaking it for a while, there isn’t a direct translation for it. i believe we just say hello, sometimes even uy but that doesn’t translate to hello or hi. uh, there’s kamusta ka but that’d be how are you ... there, uh, is one though, but it can only be directly said to only someone that’s special to you!    ❜

oh my god. izuku midoriya, what the ever loving fuck are you doing. your mother never raised you to be like this. ❛   it’s mahal kita! again, only to be said to someone you’re really, really close to, so don’t go around telling this to strangers. mom always tells it to me whenever she greets me! s-so, it works like, m-mahal kita, u-uraraka... you get it!   ❜
