The unknowing is a ritual for the fear entity The Stranger.

basically the aspects&avatars/followers of the Stranger are trying to fully bring it into the world and basically make the world into a fear buffet for themselves and their patron Fear.

There are 14 entites that are what is fear.

They are not truly seperated I always think it helps to imagine them like colours. The edges bleed together, and you can talk about little differences: “oh, that’s indigo, that’s more lilac”, but they’re both purple. I mean, I guess there are technically infinite colours, but you group them together into a few big ones. A lot of it’s kind of arbitrary. I mean, why are navy blue and sky blue both called blue, when pink’s an entirely different colour from red? Y’know? I don’t know, that’s just how it works.

And like colours, some of these powers, they feed into or balance each other. Some really clash, and you just can’t put them together. I mean, you could see them all as just one thing, I guess, but it would be pretty much meaningless, y’know, like… like trying to describe a… shirt by talking about the concept of colour

The Eye is the fear of being watched, followed, having your deepest secrets revealed, needing to know even jf your discoveries might destroy you.

The Dark is. the dark. and the fear that there may be something lying inside it that you cannot see.

The Corruption is the fear of filth. of disease and mold and bugs and the feeling of your skin crawling.

Spiders are The Web though. Fear of your will and decisions not being your own, spiders, addiction, being manipulated or puppeted, the worry you are in a trap you cant see.

The Hunt is the fear of being prey. Simple. annd probably one of the oldest Fears. Humans/Demons arent the only things that can feel afraid.

The Flesh is probably the newest one, only popped up around thd Industrial Revolution, and when something formed out of the animalistoc fear of the slaughterhouse reaches out to people... things get weird.

just be careful.

Rituals effect the people around even if they arent part of it. keep in mind who you and other people are, why you're there, and what everything is. it gets hard to, from what i've heard. unless you're of the eye, its a little easier for avatars of the eye but i dont think you are one-

Heres a tip.

Dont try and destroy whereever the ritual is before it starts, theyll just move it to somewhere else and start again.

You have to destroy the ritual while it happens.
