I made a map of the Feywild because I could not find one I liked.
Feel free to use for your own personal needs.
4K version under the cut:
The Fae take things very literally, especially promises. They can take names, hands and unborn children from unsuspecting visitors with loose lips. Eating and drinking Fey food can ensure that you never leave the Feywild again. But as chaotic and unpredictable as the Fey may be, they abide by the rules of Hospitality and the Rule of Threes. Three Queens, Three Wishes, Three Questions, Three Answers and so forth. They have noble and powerful beings called Archfey which rule from the Summer Court and Winter Court. The Courts of Spring and Autumn are usually subservient or less important and their whole society tends to have a matriarchal dominance. The Queens are the true rulers while the Kings are merely consorts or generals in their armies. You may also find Maidens, Ladies, Mothers and Crones of incredible power here.
Notes:
The Feywild is a plane of existence adjacent to the mortal world we call home. It is a more vibrant and colourful version of our plane where supposedly, the dreams of mortals can shape the terrain. The spirits that pass on when we die become the spirits that inhabit the Feywild, eventually transforming into Faeries and Fae creatures of many different shapes, sizes and temperaments. This has stagnated in more recent years due to religion drawing souls out beyond the Astral Sea. Now the plane is ruled by Archfey who have had countless time to practice their magics. But as beautiful and enigmatic as the Fey and the Feywild may seem, they are a crooked mirror of the real world, much like one you might find in a circus funhouse.
The Feywild seasons are locked geographically and regions grow stronger or weaker depending on the time of year in the mortal world. It is always summer in the Summerlands, etc. And in the Vale of Long Night, it is always night. Some places slip in and out of the Feywild like the city of Astrazalian, and the terrain is constantly changing. Distance is measured by a place's spiritual connection to another, or sometimes by rules the Fey make up themselves. For this reason, it supposed to be unmappable.
Out of lore, I've found this makes for a frustrating experience to navigate. However, I've played the Descent into Avernus DnD module by Wizards of the Coast. It came with a glossy foldout map of Hell and told the DM that the mapmaker went insane while creating it so some of the landmarks might not be accurate. For this reason, I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to tell your players that the person who made this map of the Feywild is certifiably insane. (This will save you grief as a DM when/if complicated questions crop up. Just say a madman did it! since this is not entirely inaccurate ( ͡• ͜ʖ ͡• )
DnD Lore Locations you can look up for modules/story:
Winter Court
Summer Court
The Lake of Frozen Tears
The Vale of Long Night
The Howling Forest
Shinaelestra
Cendriane
The Murkendraw
Mithrendein
Nachtur
Plains of Echoing Thunder
The Summer Forest
The Temple of Leaves
Senaliesse
Maze of Fathagn
Brokenstone Vale
Astrazalian
Harrowhame
The Court of Stars (floating over Autumn next to a mountain)
Other locations are inspired by Faerie Lore or Grimm Fairytales and their derivatives.
Powerful NPCs from DnD lore:
Queen Titania/Tiandra and King Oberon (the Green Lord) are seated in the Summer Court.
The Queen of Air and Darkness/Mab in the Winter Court.
The Pale Prince lives in a fortress on the Lake of Frozen Tears.
Baba Yaga could be anywhere. She fast-travels by flying around in her mortar and pestle/big wooden bucket with a broom. She lives in a Hut on Chicken Legs that moves around by walking and can be found in any forest. Caution to those who enter the Hut when she is not home.
Cernunnos, the Lord of the Hunts may also be seen riding through any of the forests with a big pack of hunters. He is frequently joined by Oberon in the Summer Forest.
Nachtur is the goblin capital and is ruled by the nasty hobgoblin named Great Gark (I have placed this inside a volcano for flavour and dungeon material. You're welcome).
The Murkendraw is a massive endless swamp and can be host to any number of nasty critters including Pfilosfyr the Carrion King, known for his many fungal clones and mycelium minions.
In Brokenstone Vale, you will find lycanthropes and shifters that depend upon the moon, hence their proximity to winter and night. This place is ruled by Viktor Kazan, the Lycan Lord.
Nearby, the island city of Astrazalian spends half the year in the mortal plane and is ruled by Lady Shandria.
The Silver Lake is home to the Lady of the Lake if you want to reenact some Arthurian myth like they did with Geralt in Witcher 1.
The Floating Forest is home to the Pegasi and Lurue the Unicorn Queen (Alicorn). I have put a little tower there for some Eladrin Pegasus Keepers/Servants depending on how intelligent you make the winged horses.
In the Gardens of Pleasure, you will most likely find satyrs, including Hyrsam, the Prince of Fools.
I have left the White Well purposefully off the map. You can place it anywhere in the Winterlands. Should your players find it and the Lady of the White Well, she may grant them a boon. Those she falls in love with, become enamoured with her and earn her blade. They become champions who seek to free her from banishment by becoming her true love. All have died in the attempt.
Additionally, some places may cross over into other planes. The Vale of Long Night and The Dark Forest cross into the Shadowfell where the latter becomes the Dead Forest. The endless swamps of the Murkendraw may also cross into the Shadowfell or The Grey Wastes, while Nactur is closer to the plane of fire. The Feysea leads to Fey islands and the Court of Seafoam and the Court of Coral and continues into the plane of Water. The Primeval Forest spills over into Arborea and Brokenstone Vale spills into the Beastlands.
The Isle of Dreams is made up. If you ever reach it, your players will find the world of their dreams and can choose to stay (and become thrall to the Dreamlord/lady/monarch) or go back with a single-use stone. Breaking it grants one use of the Wish spell. Make them roll a wisdom save.
Honeysuckle Lake is made of honey which makes all the water in the Feywild taste sweet. However, running water is very dangerous to Fey and can wash away their magic. You can see it creating artificial boundaries in the form of rivers. The honeywater in Honeysuckle Lake however, does not flow so quickly and is very viscous and sticky. Dipping a hand into it may not remove a Fey's magic but it can be just as dangerous. The honey is stronger than concrete and has known to pull unsuspecting honeyguzzlers into its grasp.
This is all based on my own reading and research and imagination, so feel free to change it up!
Happy hunting

playing pinterest roulette and seeing what AUs i can make up based on the pics (part 1 of ???)
so this is a charlos AU, where carlos is not a racecar driver but went to a top university and eventually became a speculative fiction writer instead. his first book was an ambitious story about the theory of relativity as told through a series of art heists.
except: strange things start happening as carlos works on his highly anticipated follow-up, which is set to the backdrop of the monaco grand prix. in his restless nights, he keeps dreaming of a down-on-his-luck f1 turned getaway driver named charles.
it's a snowy winter's day, and he's stuck on the fifteenth chapter of the draft, wordsmithing a line that's going nowhere, staring at his laptop. nursing a café con leche that's quickly going cold. the doorbell keeps buzzing, and in his annoyance he opens it, about to give the delivery guy or some unfortunate christmas carollers a piece of his mind –
only to stare right into a pair of forest green eyes.
"it's mass. with time and space." charles says. carlos is too confused to even process how the figment of his imagination has appeared in the flesh. charles barges past him, fully takes up space in his apartment.
"the speed of light defines the relationship between energy and matter." charles continues, brushing ice off his gloves, face red and hair a mess under his beanie. "that's what you were thinking of. and don't stop on my account. i am so curious to see how this ends."
carlos stares, and stares, and stares. his hand has not moved from its death grip on the doorknob.
several thoughts flit through carlos's mind. uh, my macbook can do magic realism now? is this what they meant by writers being too close to the text? dios mío...¿tengo que ir al hospital??
carlos settles on: "how are you here?"
charles smiles, clutching his gloves betwen his hands. boyish and rueful as carlos ever dreamed him to be. "well. you are the one who created me, no?"

It's never easy
The air around you is cold, tiny snowflakes fall from the sky above you. Winter was always your favorite season, enjoying the white powder sprinkling the streets, how you could finally wear your thick sweaters whenever you wanted, and how the holiday season always had something magical about it.
You’ve stopped to enjoy the beautiful window display at your local bakery store, pointing out the assortments of pastries you’ll most likely be buying for the office party, when you look up to your friend.
The sight alone is breathtaking, not one to usually smile or show his emotions, he stands under the store lights, a beautiful smile on his face, and his cheeks and the tip of his nose red from the cold.
“You should smile more.”
You’re awakened by the conversation outside your room and the sounds from the machines around you. It’s something you’ve grown accustomed to since you were admitted to the hospital a couple of months ago.
Once you sit up, your gaze lowers as one of your hands lays flat against your growing stomach, cherishing the small life growing within you. The physical manifestation of the love you and your partner have for one another, exchanging the dangerous world life of a sorcerer for a simple life, a family life. It was everything you hoped it would be.
Suddenly, a figure walks across your room and finds a place to sit on the edge of your bed. A hand reaches towards you, soft fingers interlock with yours and cause you to look up. Before you can even utter a single word, he shakes his head to stop you from speaking and gives you a tender smile.
His hand gives you a tight squeeze before moving to lay his palm flat against your covered stomach. His smile only grows wider feeling the little one moving as if the child could sense the familiar presence and in return, their tiny feet push upwards so their father could feel their precious presence.
It’s these tiny moments, simple touches, gentle smiles, and the love that envelop the both of you… Ready to give up everything you know, just to enjoy the peaceful life that happily awaits the both of you.
He lets go of your belly and his hands reach up to cup both of your cheeks in his palm, allowing the pads of his thumbs to brush along your cheeks, attempting to bring your face closer to his.
The gentle pressure of tiny feet kicking your bladder, causes you to chuckle and pull away slightly. As you look into his green eyes, the sight that only moments ago filled you with such joy, you can feel the sense of sorrow slowly replacing it.
He shakes his head again already aware of what you are going to do, and tries to distract you by pulling you closer to his chest.
His palms are warm and soft against your cheeks, soothing your worries that somehow you failed to notice. You find yourself even more confused as the pads of his thumbs smooth away the stray tears that are staining the apple of your cheeks.
Wait, when did you start crying? Why are you crying?
You try to pull away,...
“Don’t,...” it’s the first thing he says, his voice so soft and filled with pain.
Your gaze flicks back up, searching within his eyes to see if they are hiding anything from you. Something wasn’t right, missing from his gaze… The small light that usually casts such a distinct glow around his irises, is gone.
It finally dawns on you, the air around you is quiet… The usual chatter from the hospital staff outside, the beeping from those machines in the corner of your room… The fetal monitor that would echo each of your baby’s movements….
Your heart skips a beat, your cheeks grow warmer and a new wave of tears comes forth.
His lips quiver for a moment, but he regains his composure to ensure you don’t break further. Your hands reach up, fingers interlocking with his as he still holds your cheeks. The small whimpers that you make tear at his already broking heart.
Your rock, the other half of your very soul… The person that you’ve had by your side since he agreed to that first date.
One of his hands leaves the comfort of yours, reaching into his pocket, and pulls out something wrapped in that familiar handkerchief of his. He lays the object on your lap before pulling you forward and capturing your trembling lips against his own.
The kiss is chaste, a bittersweet feeling lingers as you try to remember the shape of his lips, his taste, and his warmth against yours. You don’t want to part, but your senses come to when you feel your lungs burn and ache for the air they desperately cry for. As you both break the kiss, you refuse to pull too far, wanting to feel his breath tickle your bottom lip.
“I-I…” you try to speak, if only the lump would dislodge from your throat. “I promise to do laundry every day… I’ll make sure your favorite coffee mug is washed and stored in its usual spot.”
More tears sting the corner of your eyes, and your breath hitch when you feel his fingers cup your chip.
“I-I’ll make sure to care for Itadori as best I can.” your voice trembles once again but you try to compose yourself before looking up at him and giving him a tearful smile. “I promise you… I love you so much.” one of your hands takes his and places it on your stomach. “We both love you.”
“Thank you.”
His voice echoes into the back of your mind, while you suddenly come to. The chatter from outside your room returns, followed by the beeping coming from the machines. You’re still stuck in a semi-daze, staring at the edge of your bed where he was sitting.
Movements from within your belly seem to help break the spell you found yourself in. Wiping the tears that stuck to the corner of your lashes before looking down. The object that was wrapped in the familiar leopard print handkerchief was still on your lap. Your hands stayed frozen in place until you found the courage to lower them and grab it.
“The ability to speak with any souls before they cross over.” his expression remained the same, but his eyes showed a hint of curiosity.
“I always thought it was a weird ability.” you chuckle sweetly, remembering all those strange moments as a child when spirits would desperately find you and request your help to pass on one last message to loved ones. “But as I grow older… I find it a little more comforting. Being able to help someone find closure, with someone’s final message.”
Your body trembles as you break down crying again, holding his watch close to your chest. The message engraved on the inner surface of the watch is still left intact, with no scratches or splatter on the metal. Everything seemed perfect, but the hands remained still…
[21:25]
“You never know, I may actually find my own use in my abilities someday.” you aren’t sure why that left your mouth, but you turn back to look at him and smile. “Anyways, how about that date Kento?”

Pure blood and one of the sacred 28 families. This going to be multiple parts! Im thinking maybe 4/5 !!
Please leave your feedback and comments!!

______________________________________________Draco Malfoy had known Y/N Higgs since childhood. His mother and yours were close from their Hogwarts years. So, you could often be seen frolicking throughout the manor. He recalls you picking flowers and handing them to the house-elves. Chasing butterflies. Lying about in the grassy hills, always under the blooming wisteria trees. Draco always felt drawn to you. Like spring after winter, you warmed those around you. He was no exception.
You murmured "Draco..." as you lounged in the garden one afternoon. As the brilliant blonde sat next to you with a Quidditch magazine in hand.
"Mhmm…" his head turned to you before he could think… like a sunflower to the sun, you commanded his attention.
“Will we be friends next year?” you inquired with a tilted head, fingers plucking at the blades of grass. You avoided his gaze, afraid of the blunt boy's answer.
"Of course y/n, don’t be silly…. my mother's anger would erupt if I showed you any disrespect." Draco spoke in a flat tone.
He wanted to escape this moment, afraid you would see through him. That you would see it was he who disapproved of your exit from his life's circle.
“Even if I’m not a Slytherin?” you inquired, your voice tinged with melancholy, eyes narrowed.
"Of course, sunshine..." He said softly returning to his pages, looking up out of the corner of his eye at you. You had a matching rosy tint and a smile.
“Good… That’s good,” you said softly.
To tell the truth, Draco thought you would never become a Slytherin. Simply because it wasn't in your nature. You are ambition and cleverness have always been present, but never cruelty. You were cunning and crafty, but never at anyone's expense. You were smart beyond measure, like a Ravenclaw. Kind and loyal, as they could come, like a Hufflepuff. And hard-headed and brave, like a Gryffindor. Yet he found himself corrected that 1st year at Hogwarts as you sat beside him in your green tie and beaming smile. Draco had never been more relieved to have been wrong.
From then on, everyone knew you, Y/N Higgs. You stood out as a remarkable Slytherin, distinct from the others. Walking with a gracefulness that compelled those around to turn their heads. Spending time showing 1st years around and volunteering in the Hospital wing. Even helping Hagrid with the magical creature care. You held friends in all the houses. Everyone would say you were uncharacteristically nice for a snake....
Draco always wondered. How could a pure-blood Slytherin, raised under the same pressures as him, be so kind? Still, you stayed close to one another. You kept your promise to be friends until one cold winter day in 4th-year during potions...
"You will work on this essay in pairs, and it will account for a significant portion of your final grade.” Professor Snape droned on, explaining the assignment.
"I have preassigned your partnerships and will hear no griping or groaning about said matters. If you cannot work together, write your own 6 parchments on the effects and magical uses of a bezoar. These partnerships are absolutely final. Due Monday.” Snape said in his dreary, disinterested tone.
"Now…" Snape began to read off the pairs.
"Grander and Parkinson"
"Potter and Parvati"
"Zambini and Longbottom"
"Granger and Goyle"
"Malfoy and Higgs"
"Weasley and Finnigan."
Draco's doodling stopped at the sound of his name. Professor Snape was continuing down his list, leaving no room for complaints. As you plopped down next to him, your feet shuffled about. The scent of honey and wisteria filled his nose; you always smelled like home to him.
"Hello, Draco! How lovely… it’s like our summer studies at the Manor," you beamed, unpacking your quill and ink.
Draco nodded and returned a soft smile that was only reserved for you.
"Not even our summer studies are this extensive. Leave it to Snape to dampen the weekend before the Yule Ball." You huffed out, defeated.
"About the Yule ball…..” Draco trailed off as you turned to look at him with hopeful, wide eyes.
"Who gets the pleasure of being your date for the evening?” he asked, his gaze slanting towards you, his breath suspended in anticipation.
You see, over the years, Draco has grown fond of you as you have of him. Both too comfortable in your normal to risk something so dear, so both stood still. Suspended in the friend zone until he heard news that someone asked you to the ball. Lighting a newfound fire underneath him. He couldn't resist taking that leap, determined not to let the opportunity slip away.
"I was hoping you would’ve asked me by now, Draco. Though I take it you're opting for Parkinson.” You made a face when referring to Pansy Parkinson, a Slytherin with a crush on the Malfoy boy.
He let out a gentle laugh in amusement. He cherished the moments your envious Slytherin persona emerged.
"No. No. No. I'm not attending with Pansy. I heard through the gossip vine that the champion asked you himself: Cedric Diggory, is it?" He grimaced at the name. From the start of the year, it was known that he fancied you.
But who didn't? You were a dream come to life. You were kind and smart, second only to Hermione. Yet, you never dated. You never agreed to Hogsmeade dates or study sessions with anyone. That includes Oliver Wood, Cedric Diggory, and even Saint Potter. No one knew why. But you did. If you never agreed, you'd find Draco next to you in the library, or arm in arm on Hogsmeade weekends. So why agree when your heart was already so full?
You declared, "He did, but I turned him down." You shrugged, refocusing on your homework. The air around your desk grew heavy as you huffed out a breath of frustration.
You adored Draco. The parts of him reserved for you were warm and soft. He looked out for you and was always there. Waiting since the announcement of the Yule Ball for Draco to ask you, turning down everyone who wasn't him. You knew he was a bloody coward, even considering asking him yourself a few times. All you needed was confirmation. Reassurance that it wasn't only you who found yourself wanting more.
"Since we cleared the air and I'm not going with Parkinson, you're not going with Diggory. Shall I save you the embarrassment of attending alone?" He flashed a playful grin.
"Save me the embarrassment? No. No. No. Mr. Malfoy, you forget yourself. I have a line of willing suitors waiting for me." You laughed, noticing Draco's slight annoyance.
"Let me save you the ghastly displeasure of having Parkinson be your last resort... Of course, I'll go with you, Draco; why do you think I turned down the future Triwizard champion?" You gave him a sidelong glance. "I was waiting for your daft arse."
Draco's lips curved upward in a subtle grin of admiration at your boldness.
" Well, thank you for waiting for me to catch on... It is a pleasure to be on the arm of such a lady."
You shared a warm smile with him before resuming your tasks. A new excitement and giddiness filled you both.
__________
The following evening, you found yourselves in the library. Draco occupied the seat opposite yours. Surrounded by dim candlelight, open textbooks, and the smell of fresh ink in the air. You both discussed what colors to wear to the Yule ball and the Potions assignment. Which reminded you to write to your mother about the recent development. Both mothers grew anxious as they awaited news of your companions for the ball. They had hoped it would be each other after all. It was Narcissa Malfoy and Beatrice Higgs who watched all those summers. As childhood friendship bloomed into something only mothers could sense.
As the sunset and talk faded, you whispered, looking up at him through your long lashes.
"What do you wish to be when school is over?”
Draco set his quill aside, gazing at you with introspective eyes as he pondered the question.
“I know Father wishes for me to take a prominent position in the Ministry someday.” He muttered, shrugging his shoulders. "You know, following after him and all."
"No, no, no... what do you, Draco Malfoy, wish to be? Parents be damned!" You shook your head in disapproval and reached for his hand.
He let out a low, amused laugh and curved his lips upward. "A potions master, maybe an astronomer," he whispered, placing his icy hand on yours. You smiled back.
"I wish to be a healer, maybe a teacher. My parents likely want me to marry, and that would be the end of it." You huffed, your cheek resting in your palm.
“Parents be damned ….” Whispered Draco, tightening his grasp on your hand.
With soft smiles, hours passed and homework gave way to chat. The air was fresh and electric around you both. A want... no, more like a compulsive need to touch and be close grew and grew. As you worked through the weekend together in your safe little cove of the library. Transitioning from opposite each other to shoulder-to-shoulder. Any space between you both was too much.
___________
The Yule ball night arrived suddenly. As Draco found himself standing at the bottom of the long stairs in front of the great hall with Theo and Blaise. All anxiously awaiting their dates to descend the stairs… all minus Theo. Nothing could have readied Draco for the stunning sight of you in candlelight. Your dark blue dress and gold accents shone like the stars that made the constellation….
You descended the stairs grasping tightly to Draco's outstretched hand. Everyone faded away as he drew near, his gaze locked on you. When you finally reach him, he spins you around to savor every angle, embracing you tightly.
"Wow, Higgs, I knew you would clean up exquisitely."
Theo Knott, the endless flirt, spoke. Breaking your gaze with Draco and ruining the moment. The blonde boy shot a piercing stare at Theo, who responded with a sly wink.
“Thank you, Theo… you’re too kind." Your face flushed; you dipped your head in embarrassment.
"Lucky man, Malfoy." he said, still gazing at your glory as you stood, arm locked with Malfoy by your side.
"I know, Knott … by the way, don’t you have a floor of single women to save from a night of heartbreak versus harassing my date?” Draco spat with no real malice toward the Knott boy.
"Did you come alone, Theo?” you said, confused.
"Don't waste your pity on him Y/N… he chose to come alone on purpose," Blaise said, laughing. "It's all part of his grand plan to woo the hearts of many."
"Exactly correct... because why limit oneself to one date when one can save many from a night of loneliness?" Theo said rather proud of himself "Although, if you were my one date, Higgs... I'd accept the burden." He smirked.
Draco pulled you closer into his arms as he swung at Theo playfully, shoving him away. As you rolled your eyes at the boy's antics.
Lorenzo Berkshire appeared from behind Draco, quickly taking your hand from his cousin’s grasp and spinning you in a circle.
“ My goodness, you are a sight Y/N” Enzo said laughing softly
“ Enzo, you are too kind” you stated slightly dizzy steading yourself with your to his chest and a smile
“ This is not flirting with my date hour…” Draco huffs in annoyance as he once again pulls you towards him tucking you under his arm tightly. You smile at him softly patting his chest in reassurance.
"And who is the lucky girl gracing your arm tonight, Blaise?" you asked, changing the topic.
“You mean unlucky… very unlucky, y/n," Theo added with a laugh.
Daphne Greengrass your best friend appears looking like a fairy princess in her dark green and silver gown.
“ That unlucky girl would be me…” She says shooting a glare at Theo “ And at least we have dates” she stick her tongue out in touché
The last of your group trickle in, complimenting one other and filling the area with small talk.
Soon Draco’s hand finds your waist as he leaned over and whispered in your ear too distracted by his breath on your neck to listen to Enzo speak anymore. You turn your attention fully to the Prince of the hour.
"Shall we find ourselves a spot inside Sunshine?" he whispered, only for you, against the shell of your ear. It caused goosebumps to travel up your body.
"Lead the way, love….” You gazed, captivated by his timeless black tuxedo with blue highlights. He looked like he came from a fairytale. His regal appearance captivated you.
You walked in through the large doors, arm in arm. Heads turned to see that the Slytherin Prince had won the fair maiden's heart. Yet, it surprised none. It was only a matter of time before the Slytherin Prince captured the princesses.
As you danced the night away with your friends. You suddenly weren't heirs to pureblood fortunes. You were nothing but dumb teenagers in love at a school dance. And it was there... in that moment, as his heart raced. Not from dancing, but from looking at you in the soft candlelight. He decided: if you were a flame, let him be a moth. If you were the sun, let him be Icarus.
Draco decided he would gladly face your light and fire. Fearing no consequences if it meant being wrapped in your warmth for a second longer. Let his wax wings melt and he be drowned in the ocean. Let him plummet from the sky ungracefully if it meant being with you. Because you.... made of sunlight and sugar, were worth it.
"I don't want this to end..." Draco's soft voice fought to be heard above the blaring band and laughter as you stood beside the punch bowl.
You lifted your gaze from your cup and furrowed your brow in puzzlement. Was he referring to the song? The ball? The night?
“Say what you mean, Draco." you urged as you stared into his icy eyes that held a fire behind them.
“I mean this feeling, this … whatever this is. I enjoy who I am with you at this moment. I don't want it to end." His voice held a sense of sadness and fear, like after the music stopped and the night ended, that would be that.
You declare “ Then let’s be like this… always.” As you grasp his hand tightly and pull him into a kiss. He meets you halfway, kissing back effortlessly. He wraps one hand around your waist and the other in your hair. Passion and years of yearning found itself exchanged in the kiss.
As you broke apart, heavy breathing and foreheads touching, you chuckled at the cliché of it all.
"Shall we get out of here?" Draco's red, puffy lips spoke softly against yours.
And you could only nod as he took your hand out of the great hall, smiling and laughing.
Running through the halls hand in hand, up the tall winding stairs to the astronomy tower. Stopping only to kiss each other for a few moments. It was there on the ledge. The very ledge that would later and forever change the course of your life, that Draco gazed at you.
"Y/N, my love…” he reached for your hand and began playing with your fingers as you both stood leaning on the rail.
"I am enamored by you. You roam my mind, unrestricted at will. I wonder endlessly about your happiness. I wonder if you dream of me. If you ate. If you're safe." he rambles like a madman.
You smile, rubbing your thumb against his hand as encouragement…
"Please do me the honor, sunshine, of being mine." He draws a long breath, his eyes locking onto yours.
"Oh Draco…. You whisper, "I've always been yours," before you lean in to brush your lips against his. He responds with a fervent kiss, hands around your waist, yours buried in his soft hair.
You spent another hour in the tower. Draco pointed out his favorite constellations between fevered bouts of making out. His suit jacket wrapped around you. It smelled of mahogany, fresh apples, fresh ink, and silver. Nothing but more time could have solidified the night as perfect.
"Your lips are turning blue, sunshine." Draco chuckled as his fingers caressed your winter-kissed cheeks. His hand felt like ice, so you enveloped it in yours, pressing your lips gently to his skin. The winter air was becoming too cold to ignore, signaling the end of the night.
"I guess we should be heading back then." You groaned, throwing your head back.
Draco's laughter burst out as he rose to his feet, bending to grasp and lift you upright. He enveloped you in his suit jacket, tucking you in tight and kissing your cheek lightly. Leaving a warmth in their place. You smiled.
Walking back to the common room down the tower steps, hand in hand, a newfound contentment hung in the air.
The rest of the year went by rather quickly. Between classes, you and Draco made time for each other. Enjoying Hogsmeade weekends and late nights sneaking off to the astronomy tower. It all felt too good to be true. Which as fate would have it was true... nothing good lasts long.
There you were in the stands of the third Triwizard task. Screams and cries filled the air. Draco hid your face in his chest, holding you close and tight. As you stare in shock at the body of the kindest boy you knew... tears slipped slowly down your face. Time dragged on, after Cedric's memorial with the buzz of grief and you-know-who on the rise. Static seemed to be in the air… like a drop of water about to fall into a still lake.
If only you knew then what hung in the stars for Draco and you. What darkness was at play and how far your Icarus was willing to fall for you, his sunshine.

Miraculous Paradise - Chapter 4 - Miracles
Beginning || Previous || Next
Adrien lay in the hospital bed in the early dawn hours. He stared out his window at the quiet, winter city. He hadn’t been awake long, but everything hurt. His body felt lethargic and fatigued. His heart palpitated constantly that was accompanied by wrenching pain. His head felt light even as he lay back on the pillow. That didn’t compare to the gut-wrenching truth.
Adrien would die soon, he knew it. The doctors hadn’t told him anything yet, but he could feel it. Seventeen years and this was the end. His heart twisted at the thought of leaving Emilie and Gabriel alone. For all the years they had all spent hoping for it to go up in flames. What was the point of it all? Why was he even alive to begin with? Why did he exist? Was he even meant to?
“Awfully dark thoughts, Adrien,” a man’s voice said with a slight hiss.
Adrien blinked. He turned and saw a doctor he’d never seen before. The man was tall, wearing the usual doctor clothes, but his hair was green, and his eyes were snake-like.
“Who are you?” Adrien whispered.
“The answer to a lot of your questions, and your salvation.”
“I don’t understand.”
The doctor pulled up a seat. “Allow me to be brief. I’m not human. I’m what’s known as a kwami and we are responsible for the miracles you mortals pray for. I was responsible for your mother being able to conceive you.”
“You… you are? How?”
“She prayed unendingly, and I blessed her with fertility, however it came at a price. A price that you are now paying. The moment you turned seventeen, the poison that had been in your blood amplified. It is this poison that will kill you in three days from now.”
Adrien’s stomach dropped. “T-three days?”
“Correct, but I have an offer for you. There is no removing the poison from you. There is no stopping your death, but it can be pushed back. I can offer a magical charm that will give you another year to live, but only a year. During this time, your health won’t be perfect, but you will be able to live for the first time in your entire life.”
Adrien perked up. “Wait, really? Would I be able to do things like go outside on my own? To do more than just lay in bed all day?”
“You would. You’d have the chance to experience all things you wouldn’t otherwise, just as your dear mother always dreamed for you.”
Adrien’s breath caught. He had no idea what Emilie wanted for him, but the opportunity to fulfill her dreams was too enticing. Perhaps it would make his passing easier if she knew he got to live. That he really did get to experience the joys of life.
“There is one more thing. A miracle is gathering that would require me. Under no circumstances are you to take part in this. If you take part in this miracle, you will die immediately upon its completion.”
“O-oh. Okay. I accept, please.”
The doctor nodded. He touched Adrien’s medical bracelet and it transformed into a snake bracelet before it changed to high tech medical bracelet.
Adrien took a sharp breath. His head cleared of all fog, and he was able to focus with astounding clarity. The exhaustion that weighed down his body evaporated, and he felt light. His heart slowed to a normal pace as the pain vanished. Tears sprung from his eyes at the pure joy of it all.
“Thank you. Thank you so much.”
The doctor smiled, then frowned. “If you find yourself in need of me, call upon my name, and I will come to you.”
“Of course. But wait. What is your name?”
“It’s Sass.”

Tikki and Bridgette sat at a table in a back room of a homely diner. Tikki looked over the menu while Bridgette fidgeted. She glanced between Tikki and outside at the bright morning. She scoffed, stood, and paced back and forth.
“Relax, bug. Everything will be fine,” Tikki reassured.
“She’s worried. I know she is. I shouldn’t be out during the day. She’ll do nothing but worry as long as I’m out. I should be home right now. She should have peace of mind knowing that I’m safe,” Bridgette spat.
Tikki groaned. “Will you come out, so she’ll stop worrying?”
Bridgette glared at Tikki when movement caught her eye. She turned as a blurry shape moved across the floor. It shed its cloak to reveal a tiny red fox. She sighed as shame flooded her. She scooped up the fox and held it close.
“I’m sorry. I know you’re worried. I promise to be home as soon as this is all done. You won’t have to worry anymore.”
The fox nuzzled Bridgette and purred. Bridgette clung to it as she took her seat. She petted the fox while Tikki held the menu up for the fox.
“Would you like us to bring you something?” Tikki asked.
The fox looked at the menu, then at Bridgette.
“Uh, she has difficulty reading still.”
“Oh. Well, how about this?”
Tikki snapped her fingers and created samples of menu items. The fox’s ears perked up and it leapt up, dancing in the air. It yipped and Tikki snapped her fingers again to create new items. Its eyes sparkled each time Tikki created.
Bridgette smiled when pain hit her heart. She touched the earrings as regret and guilt stabbed her repeatedly. Trixx was amazing and a good fit for Marinette’s needs, but even so, there was one itch that Trixx could never scratch.
“Think you can conjure something with cheese now?” Plagg asked.
Tikki and Bridgette turned as Plagg and Felix joined them in the room. Tikki huffed and crossed her arms.
“And why should I when you can’t even be bothered to be on time?”
“I did bring something along the lines of what you asked for,” Plagg pointed out.
Tikki relented and created a platter of camembert for Plagg. He gleefully sat and inhaled the cheese.
Felix furrowed his brow and stared at Tikki. “What are you? How did you create that from nothing? And what’s with the little fox floating in the air?”
Tikki gestured to the open seat beside Plagg. “Sit and we’ll explain everything.”
Felix eyed Tikki suspiciously but took a seat.
“Excellent. Now, we had felt a prayer, a desperate cry for a miracle, to save a boy on death’s doorstep. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do to save him. At least not without a terrible price to pay. However, that hasn’t stopped other kwamis from offering their services to the woman,” Tikki explained.
Felix frowned. “I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous. What sort of drugs are you on? Is this even real? It can’t be. I’m still dreaming, right? That has to be it.”
Plagg and Tikki exchanged glances before Plagg grinned. Tikki called out Plagg’s name when he scratched Felix’s cheek, gouging it. Felix took a sharp breath at the immense pain. He reached a hand up and gawked at the blood on his fingers. The fox kit yelped at the sight of the injury and blood and hid in Bridgette’s arms.
“Real enough for you, Felix?” Plagg asked.
“Go to hell,” Felix hissed.
Tikki moved around and created a first aid kit. She stopped the bleeding and treated Felix’s wound. She tossed the kit over to Plagg who destroyed it. She moved back and touched the fox’s head.
“No more blood. It’s all good.”
The fox raised its head but remained in Bridgette’s arms.
“Now then, the kwamis that approached the woman hold part of a power known as Paradise. It is a miracle that can only be summoned with a set of five kwamis. Two have already emerged with the others sure to follow,” Tikki continued.
“Except for Sass,” Plagg remarked.
“True, Sass will attempt to keep Paradise from happening, but that has not always worked in the past. And Sass is the only one of the set that doesn’t like Paradise. Longg will jump at the chance to create it, as will Wayzz if the cause is noble enough.”
“And what does this have to do with me?” Felix demanded.
“I need a holder and Tikki asked me to find a rich boy,” Plagg answered.
“Holder? What is a holder?”
“A person that wields our jewels. These people can invoke us to gain superpowers based on what our concepts are. If you agree to help, you will gain the power of destruction. A power you will use with a partner, that of creation.”
Felix glanced at Bridgette, then back at Tikki. “That’s all wonderful, but why should I bother? This isn’t my battle.”
“And what of your family? Would you rather see them lost to the creation of Paradise? Would you enjoy seeing their bodies evaporated and souls consumed as they’re wiped out of existence like they were never alive? To see the world as we know it return to its purest state as a Garden of Eden? Pure, beautiful, but never to be touched by man,” Bridgette spoke.
Felix tsked. “That’s absurd. How would all that happen?”
“Eh, there’s a few details off, but she’s in the ballpark,” Plagg remarked.
“What? There’s no way. How would you even know anyway?” Felix demanded of Bridgette.
“I can take a guess knowing full well that all miracles come at a price. If there’s a group out there wanting to create something called Paradise, it can only come with the steepest of prices. I don’t know about you, but I won’t allow it to be made. I made a deal for my cousin, for her future, and I won’t renege on that bargain. I will see her happy,” Bridgette remarked.
Felix opened his mouth when the fox jumped onto the table. It glowered at Bridgette and barked at her. Felix’s eye twitched as he watched Bridgette’s half-hearted attempts to quell the fox. He sneered and reached for it but was stopped by Bridgette. She glowered at him and dug her nails into the bits of exposed skin.
“You will not touch my cousin. Not unless you are looking for a fight, bitch boy,” Bridgette growled.
“Let’s go then. I can take a toothpick like you,” Felix hissed.
Bridgette sneered and reared back her arm but was held back by Tikki.
“Easy, easy. It’s been a rough day for you. Just, let me do that talking,” Tikki pleaded.
Bridgette snorted but released Felix.
“Now, before an actual fight breaks out, I need you to understand something, Felix. Someone is going to need to stop the holders of Paradise. To keep them occupied long enough for another miracle to expire. Bridgette had long accepted this burden, but you are under no real obligation. However, we ask you for your family, your legacy, but most of all, yourself,” Tikki explained.
“And my money,” Felix added.
Tikki grimaced. “Well, let’s just forget about that right now. Paris will need heroes. The world will need heroes.”
Felix laughed. He opened his mouth but was interrupted by Bridgette.
“Forget this. Just find someone else, Plagg. This privileged twink doesn’t have what it takes to be a hero. He’s made it painfully clear already that he’s no interest in helping people. Why continue with this farce?”
“What’s the matter? Upset that I see no reason to help some alien creatures and their pet?” Felix asked.
“And there it is, Tikki. Waste your time further if you want, but I’m leaving before I give him something to match his scratch.”
Tikki watched Bridgette leave with the fox. She turned back to the boys, shook her head, and ran after Bridgette. Felix waited a moment longer before he stood to leave. He paused when Plagg joined him.
“What are you doing?” Felix demanded.
“Whatever I want. And I don’t have anything better to do, so let’s go.”
Felix opened his mouth, then shut it. He shook his head and kept walking.

Amelie sat in an armchair near Emilie. She had promised to watch over Emilie while Gabriel went to pick up Adrien. The hospital called and said they had news, good and bad. She had attempted to press further, but Gabriel didn’t ask any more questions when they said Adrien was well enough to be brought home.
Amelie had believed that perhaps Emilie received a miracle last night. That was until she found a pair of brooches clutched in Emilie’s hand when she was checking on Emilie after Gabriel left. She removed the brooches from her pocket and admired them. One was a simple purple circle brooch while the other was a magnificent peacock tail fan brooch. She placed the purple one down and examined the peacock fan.
The peacock brooch was breathtaking. The metal was perfectly cut, the jewels brilliant, and the color vibrant. It was a piece of art that could draw anyone’s eye. Amelie unfastened the pin and put it on her suit jacket. She stepped up to a window and marveled at the brooch on her. It stood out beautifully against her black clothes that immediately drew the eye.
“I see you’ve made the right choice,” Duusu cooed.
Amelie froze as Duusu materialized beside her. She stared at him with wide eyes. He held his head high and fanned his tail.
“Oh, how I love to see you mortals admire me. Must have been difficult as you were freezing last night. Thankfully you pulled through.”
Amelie blinked a few times as things clicked in her head. “Right. It was difficult seeing how radiant you truly are as the cold threatened to take me.”
Duusu beamed. “Oh, I love you. Now, little peahen, are you ready?”
“In a moment. Now that I’m not freezing, may I ask some questions.”
“Certainly. What is it you wish to know?”
Amelie considered carefully. “What can you do exactly? Like, what do you offer?”
“The power of beauty, my darling dearie. When you put me on, you’ll be able to shape the world to your standards of beauty and it shall be exalted by all. But you do need to be careful. While there’s no limit explicitly, after a while you stop pulling power from me and pull from your own life. When you start doing that, it’ll shorten your life.”
“Oh. Oh, I see. Well, let’s see. What about, no… how about, ah… you are a miracle, yes? What exactly is the miracle you entail?”
“One of the greatest of miracles, peahen. Paradise. With the set of Paradise, the five can create a literal Heaven on Earth, a Garden of Eden, as your kind would say. It would be a utopia for you all to live in and with those you deem worthy of witnessing Paradise.”
“And… and this would save Adrien?”
“Of course. You would all live for eternity within your Paradise with those you love. Your lives would be free of strife and everyday full of unending bliss.”
Amelie’s jaw dropped. With this power, they could save Adrien. They could create a corner of Heaven for them to live in forever. Emilie and Gabriel could spend eternity with Adrien. She could liberate Felix from Colt’s oppressive thumb. They’d all get to live their lives in unending bliss.
“Though, I should warn you, it does come at price. My powers, that is,” Duusu interrupted.
“What kind of price?”
“See, you won’t like seeing ugly things in the world. Inner, outer, or even both. You’ll want to get rid of it.”
“Oh. Well, if we’re making Paradise, won’t be getting rid of the bad and ugly anyway? Make way for a beautiful, good haven?”
“Pretty much.”
Amelie considered when movement caught her eye. She looked past Duusu at Emilie who tore apart the blankets looking for the brooches. She turned and tackled Emilie in a hug.
“Emilie! You’re alright!” Amelie cried.
“Amelie, please, not now. I need to find-!”
Emilie paused when she saw the peacock brooch on Amelie.
“Where’s the other one?” Emilie demanded.
Amelie grabbed the other brooch and handed it to Emilie. “I hope you don’t mind if I picked for you?”
Emilie sighed and took it. “You always had an eye for beautiful things, didn’t you?”
“For better or worse. Colt,” Amelie added with a hint of venom in her voice.
Emilie giggled and put the brooch on. Nooroo materialized as Duusu joined them.
“So, you weren’t the one we talked to in the garden?” Duusu asked Amelie.
“Sorry to deceive you,” Amelie admitted.
“You know everything?” Emilie butted in.
“I know enough without betraying myself.”
Emilie grimaced. “I love you, but don’t stop me. I will save my Adrien. I-.”
“I’m with you. Together, we can create Paradise. We’ll be happy for eternity. Free of heartache and pain. Free of worry and despair. Free of the past and future. It’ll be perfect.”
Emilie smiled and hugged Amelie. “Thank you. I’m glad I have you at my side.”
The door to the sitting room opened and Duusu and Nooroo vanished. Emilie and Amelie looked over at Gabriel and Adrien. Emilie tore herself out of the embrace and ran up to Adrien.
“Look at you. There’s so much color in your face. And… and what’s this?”
Emilie raised Adrien’s left hand where a high-tech silver bracelet sat.
“Some sort of new technology. It’s suppressed the substance killing him, but only for the next year,” Gabriel said.
Dread consumed Emilie. She took several deep breaths as she fought the coming tears. She forced a smile and hugged Adrien.
“We’ll make the most of it. Every moment will be like a dream,” Emilie promised.
“Why don’t we start with breakfast? Oh, what if we go out?” Amelie suggested.
“Can we?” Adrien asked.
“I think that’d be wonderful. Gabriel, won’t you help Adrien pick out an outfit?” Emilie asked.
Gabriel nodded. He escorted Adrien out, leaving Emilie and Amelie alone.
“We have no time to waste. We need to start tonight,” Emilie whispered.
“What do we do though?”
“I’m not sure. We have the day to think, but we must bring out the others needed for Paradise before time is up.”
“Right. But for now, we may want to change if we’re heading out,” Amelie pointed out.
“Oh, right. Let’s go.”
Emilie and Amelie headed for the stairs when Felix returned. Amelie turned to greet him when she saw his bandaged injury, a fresh, untreated wound, and a black cat on his shoulders. She screamed and ran up to him.
“Oh, Felix, my precious boy! What happened?”
Felix pointed to the cat.
Amelie puffed out her cheeks and reached for the cat when Felix stopped her.
“I wouldn’t. That’s how I got these. Let’s just say I’ve… I’ve been chosen,” Felix remarked.
Amelie eyed Felix suspiciously, then squealed. “Oh, I love cats. But no more scratching my darling Felix, understand?”
The cat meowed.
“Good. Now, get ready. We’re going out with Adrien.”
“I don’t think… wait, did you say with Adrien? Isn’t he still in the hospital?”
“Nope. He was all good to come home. He was given some fancy device that makes him well but didn’t cure him. So, we’re going out as a sort of celebration.”
Felix sighed with a smile. “Alright. Let me get changed.”
Amelie squealed. She pulled Felix in a tight embrace. He returned it before he stepped back. He paused when he saw the peacock brooch on her. He had never seen her wear such jewelry before, especially one like that. It was unbelievably beautiful, almost in an otherworldly feel. A bad feeling rose in the pit of his gut.
“Felix? Is everything ok?” Amelie asked.
Felix shook himself and quickly bowed his head. He moved past Amelie and Emilie. He glanced at Emilie and saw she had on a simple purple brooch. He hummed and kept going until he was back in his room. He headed into the bathroom, shut the door, and looked at the cat.
“Alright, Plagg, I have a question for you.”
“I may have an answer.”
“What were those brooches? The ones my aunt and mother were wearing?”
“Huh? Oh, right. Y’know the jewels that Tikki mentioned? Yeah, that’s what those were.”
“Are you telling me that aunt and mother are wearing kwami jewels? Which ones?”
Plagg turned away. “Why do you care?”
Felix’s eye twitched. “Are they the ones for Paradise.
Plagg flicked his tail and looked at his claws. “Again, why do you care? This isn’t your battle.”
Felix’s eye twitched. “Your glibness does you no credit.”
Plagg shrugged. “You’re smart enough, rich boy. Figure it out on your own.”
Felix furrowed his brow. He didn’t want to get involved. He wanted to finish up his business here and head back to London. He wanted to return to life under Colt’s heel as they bickered day in and out. He didn’t need this. He didn’t want it. But want wasn’t a luxury he was allowed.
Felix couldn’t deny the facts. Amelie was committed to whatever Paradise was. He was certain that Emilie was the ringleader and Amelie would follow wherever Emilie went. He imagined Gabriel would too but probably hadn’t yet. That left him to wonder about Adrien. Tikki said a miracle was asked to save a boy on death’s door. He was certain it was Adrien, but what should he do about it? Did he help Amelie and Emilie, or did he fight against it?
Felix cleaned up while his mind wandered. He could help his family and save Adrien. He could play a role in Paradise and see Adrien well. That would be the most sensible path if he considered his family. Adrien slipped into his mind again as he reconsidered. It was clear what Amelie and Emilie wanted, but what of Adrien? What did Adrien want?
Felix’s eyes widened as he remembered earlier with Bridgette. She had remarked that she made a deal for her cousin. He was doubtful of her word, but could he make a deal with these creatures? Could he ensure Adrien’s survival if he helped them? It was worth a shot if anything.
“Plagg, after this outing, would you be able to show me to your, er, Sugarcube?”
“What brought this change of heart?”
“Do you really care?”
Plagg considered. “Touche.”
“Excellent. Let’s be on our way then.”

Fic-O-Ween Day 10: Spellbound
Hello! Apologies for the delay. Here’s the sixth part of the Fantasy Magic Au, and it's a long one! (3.6k words) Featuring too many coincidences, reunions and chaos.
characters credits to @lumosinlove. prompt and hosting credits to @noots-fic-fests. read it on a03 here -notes at the end.
Leo and Logan spent the rest of the morning talking about everything and nothing, dancing around each other’s stories with the delicate grace of the falling leaves in the garden. Logan was curious.
When did you know you’d be a witch?
I was born with it. It runs in the family.
Did you choose your core?
No. A ceremony revealed it.
How does it feel to do spells?
Every single one is different.
The way he wandered around the house was funny to Leo. It reminded him of Roux, in a certain way; polite curiosity with a pitch of sugar and spice here and there. Logan insisted on helping around as a payback for the hospitality, and Leo couldn’t bring himself to point out that chores were a thing he could get done with a snap of his fingers. Not in front of those big, expectant eyes. The traveler washed a few cauldrons, took the wood for the fireplace inside and dusted the bookshelves. He was about to finish when he frowned.
“Leo, where did you get this book?”
The witch looked up from the herbs he was stocking away. What Logan brought him in quick strides was one of the clothbound books Kasey hadn’t wanted to part from when he retired. It was just on loan for a few weeks. Leo studied the golden letters of the title and the intricate decorations on the spine of the book. He looked up at Logan and was taken aback by his alarmed expression. He looked like he’d just seen a ghost.
“Er, my master lent it to me. It’s about the discoveries humanity owes to witchcraft. Why?”
Logan opened the book to the preface, pointing at a fading stamp that indicated the bookshop it came from. He tapped it urgently. “O’Hara Brothers’ Books and Parchments. Leo, it’s Finn’s bookshop. It’s—it’s from home.” He turned it again, his eyes widening even more. “His brother wrote it.”
“What?”
“Here. A. A. O’Hara. Alexander Aodhán O’Hara. It’s Alex.”
Leo stared at the name shining in gold under the light and then at Logan, now grasping the book as if it would fade any second. Not daring to look away. Leo realized that the book must have been the closest thing to home, to Finn, that Logan had in months.
“Logan,” he said slowly. “Are you sure?”
Green eyes darted on him in a violent ocean wave. Leo felt their strength crashing against him. It was the way Logan simply stared, not letting a sound out, and bringing the book to his chest, that answered for him. The book had once belonged to Finn. Leo nodded a few times, suddenly not knowing what to do with himself.
“Okay,” he managed. “Okay. I’ll—I’ll contact my master—well, ex master, but we’re friends—but that’s not the point, but yes. He’ll tell us more.”
Logan nodded sharply, following him to the living room, where Leo sat down in front of the fireplace. A vague flick of his wrist, and a fire was warming their already heated faces. Leo took a deep breath and put a hand in front of the flames, repeating the spell under his breath. But the room remained silent. Leo tried again, but no response came from the other end. He cursed under his breath.
“It’s the storm,” he sighed, getting up and starting to pace the room. “It must have broken the connection, and I can’t repair it on my own. If we want to talk to him, we need to go to his house.”
He expected Logan to be on his feet in a second, running to grab his cloak. But the traveler was still staring at the flames. “Leo,” he murmured. “Where does your master come from?”
Leo stopped his pacing to look down at him. “Up north, originally. Krios Kepék like you, but I don’t remember the village.”
Logan nodded slowly. “Does he travel a lot?”
“Used to, from what I hear. Not that much now.”
Logan took a deep breath. “Is he a winter witch?”
Leo frowned.
“Is he?”
Leo nodded. Logan sat against the armchair. “We need to go to his place. Now.”
Leo nodded, but then a string pulled at his heart. Roux. He didn’t want to leave if Roux still hadn’t made it home. He looked out of the window. The sky was darkening. It had been almost two days. Logan caught his hesitation, stopping the jumping to put on his boots.
“Leo, Roux knows the way home. You said it yourself.”
Leo shook his head, crossing his arms in a self-hug to soothe himself. “I know. I know that, but…”
Logan nodded, without insisting further. “D’accord. I understand. I couldn’t leave the village for weeks when Finn…” he trailed off. Then shook his head and sent him a reassuring half-smile. “Point me the destination on a map. I’ll go there on my own.”
After some protests from Leo and promises from Logan to be careful and be back soon, the traveler left the cottage. Leo put a protection spell on him, just in case, and placed the book and a map in his sack. When he disappeared behind the curving trail, Leo felt the stillness of his house overwhelm him.
The sense of alert caused by the sudden noise outside died after a second; he’d recognize the sound of Kasey’s cart and his horse everywhere. The moment Leo peeked outside, relief melted him, and he couldn’t help the incredulous laugh he let out. Kasey and Natalie were there. Logan was going to their house. Everyone just needed to sit down and talk.
It didn’t last long, though.
He ran to open the door just in time to see Kasey getting down with a bundle in his arms. Natalie jumped down swiftly, a fox trotting after her. Kasey reached the door in long strides and adjusted the blanket he was carrying. Something inside shifted.
“We need to talk. Now,” he urged.
Once they were all inside, Leo threw a questioning look at Natalie as the fox followed them inside, but she held his gaze. Okay then. The fox is invited to tea. Kasey gently placed the bundle on the kitchen table, uncovering red fur. Leo felt the clenching around his stomach finally relax.
Leo blinked. It took him a moment to nod. “Yeah. Yeah, I think we do.”
“Roux!” he exclaimed, hurrying to the cat’s side.
“He’s alright now,” Kasey reassured him. “Just cold and tired from the night out in the storm. I found him this morning on the doorstep.”
“He came to you?”
Kasey shook his head. “Nah, even weirder. The fox carried him to our cabin. Must have found him in the forest last night.”
Leo blinked. “A fox brought Roux to you,” he deadpanned.
The man nodded. “I don’t even know. This fox is…well, doesn’t matter now. He won’t leave your cat’s side.”
Leo peeked at the fox, sitting elegantly at Natalie’s feet. Sharp, yellow eyes were fixed on the cat on the table, now up and accepting the scratches behind the ear Leo was giving him.
“There’s something about this fox,” he muttered. “Some sort of—”
“Lock.”
Leo turned to look at Kasey, gaze stern and arms crossed. “The same could be said about your cat.”
Leo just stared at Roux, now purring against his hand and keeping his head low. In the back of Leo’s mind, something reminded him that he could understand what they were saying. He shook his head.
“Leo,” Kasey sighed, sitting next to him. “I’m not mad. No one’s mad here. I just want to know what’s going on, and that you’re safe. This has been going on for a while.”
Leo sighed, scratching Roux’s chin. The calm, brown eyes that had warmed him for five months were calm, just like before every spell Leo had tried on him. I trust you.
“I found him on my doorstep five months ago,” he started, voice low. “I knew right away he wasn’t a cat. He would…sit on chairs to eat, and was confused on how to clean himself.” The memory made him smile. “The way he loves books, and how he was trying to tell me something. He must have thought that finding a witch would be the solution, that I would solve his problems.” He rolled his eyes at himself when he felt a grip in his throat. “And I’ve been trying. Really. And I know he’s human. Something or someone trapped him in this body, he’s spellbound, but I feel it. He feels it. Merlin, Kase, you feel it, too.” He blinked rapidly. “And time is passing, and he trusts me but all I give in return is failures.”
At that, Roux made a protesting noise, getting closer to push his head against Leo’s wet cheek. The intensifying of the purring made Leo smile. When he felt like he could open his eyes again, he found the most confused faces he’d ever seen.
“Your cat is a human,” Natalie repeated. “You’ve been living with a human-cat for five months.”
Leo nodded. It took him a while to look at Kasey. When he did, he found he was studying the cat with an open, worried expression. “Leo, transfiguration curses of this level would be hard to undo even for the wizards of the High Council. Especially without knowing the source, or how much time passed. You can’t expect to do it on your own. It’s not fair for you.”
Leo felt some of the tension leave his shoulders. He nodded. “I know. I thought about asking for help, but…” he looked at Roux. “Someone out there did this to him. He’s not safe, and I don’t want to put him even more in danger.” He watched Natalie and Kasey exchange a complicated look. “Now, would you please tell me why a fox is in my…” he trailed off, looking at the spot where the fox had been sitting until a moment ago.
“Fucking fuck,” Kasey muttered.
They started looking around. Under the table, in the cauldrons, even in the living room. Then, a noise came from the guests’ room Logan had been occupying. The fox was there, sniffing the undone bag Logan had left on the floor.
Natalie sighed. “Come on, boy. I gave you some food before we left, there’s nothing in there.”
“Whose stuff is this, anyways?” Kasey asked, looking around at the mess.
Leo felt heat coming to his cheek, and simultaneously he cursed under his breath. Logan. “A traveler came here last night. He left not too long ago to see you. But I showed him the path in the forest. You didn’t meet him on the way here,” he guessed.
Natalie nodded. “Yeah, no. With the cart, we had to take the external route.” She frowned, looking at the fox with an alarmed look. “Hey, you put that down.”
The fox turned to look at her, a green sock in his mouth, then left the room. The three of them followed him hastily to the kitchen, where the fox jumped from a chair to the table, placing the sock in front of Roux. With a delicate nudge of the snout, the cat opened his eyes. He looked at the sock, then at the fox. A silent conversation went on, with a more than clear I’m not sniffing a dirty sock by the cat, and the fox pushing it closer to him. Finally, Roux leaned in and sniffed. His eyes widened. He looked at the fox, then sniffed again.
Hell broke loose.
Roux jumped down the table, starting to meow louder than he’d ever been, with alarm in his eyes. The tail stood straight as he ran to the living room, looking for something or someone, then to the other rooms. Natalie and Kasey threw a questioning look at Leo, but all he could do was shake his head helplessly. Roux had never behaved that way. The screams weren’t stopping, and in between those, the fox on his table, and the door opening, Leo didn’t know what to think.
Logan…was not having a good day. Not a good month, not a good year. The day had started in a good way, though. For the first time in weeks, he’d woken up in soft, clean sheets, in a room all to himself, and the smell of apple cake coming from the kitchen. Oh, and Leo. Leo was the reason the day had stared nicely, and the reason the previous one, despite the most violent storm of the season, was now special in his mind. Leo and his dimply smile. His eyes, and the curls falling into the blue when he kept his head down while cooking or laughing. The sweet ease he moved around in his cottage with, all warmth and love.
Wait. The door opening?
Logan didn’t know what to think of it all. He’d been looking for Finn for months, now. He missed him every day. He missed the voice who read books to him and the glasses he put on while working at the bookshop. The way he always knew what book the clients needed-even when they themselves didn’t know. Logan’s love for Finn was an intricated, decades-old vine, that had planted its roots in their childhood and had mixed with friendship for all of their lives. Logan remembered Finn’s hands dirty with the berries he’d pick for him in the woods, and the runs after stealing books to bring to him, back when he didn’t have any.
Logan shook his head from those memories. They would only hurt the more he thought about them, he’d learnt. But after weeks on his own, the only thing pushing him to go on being ghosts from the past, Leo had arrived. Sweet, caring Leo. He didn’t mind Logan’s questions, or the way he’d flinched during the storm. He’d taken him in without hesitation, so careful to make him feel at home. The slow dance they’d fallen into that morning, between chores and the most disparate conversations, was the best thing that had happened to Logan since Finn disappeared.
Or maybe longer than that.
Because Logan remembered the feverish obsession Finn had developed after Alex went missing. He would reply sharply to anyone who told him to let it go, arriving to a few fights in the village’s pub or closing the shop to focus on the research. To hiding things from Logan. That had never, never happened. When he left to find the truth without telling anyone, was the day a piece of Logan left with him. And now he didn’t have Finn, nor that piece of himself. Just a bag with his belongings and the clothbound book in his hands. And maybe Leo. He didn’t know if he could risk thinking that. It was guilt and confusion on his head, pushing the warm sweetness Leo radiated in a corner.
He hoped that the sight of Leo would soothe and cheer him up like it had last night. He needed that, after not finding the Winter Wizard at home. That had been a huge inconvenience, by the way. If the wizard was who Logan believed him to be…that would be huge. He didn’t remember a face, or a name. But he remembered a long, blue cloak, and Alex leaving the store to a younger Finn for long walks in the woods with one of two strangers coming from far away. Sometimes he’d bring ink and parchments with him. Sometimes just flowers.
Not that it mattered now. If the wizard wasn’t there, Logan wouldn’t have answers. Another fruitless day of research, he noted as he approached Leo’s cottage. When he opened the door, it was to a commotion.
Leo’s cat was back, what was for sure. He was screaming like a madman in the living room, with two strangers trying to calm him down and a fox running around -was that his sock in its mouth? If it wasn’t for the sight of a panicked Leo, Logan would have thought he’d walked into the wrong house.
Before he could say or do anything, three things happened at once.
One, the fox stilled to look at him.
Two, one of the two strangers cursed under his breath.
Three, the cat stopped meowing and stared at him for a long moment before running in his direction and jumping on his chest. The now softer meows mixed with violent purring, and all Logan could do was stare at Leo in confusion as the little head pressed hard against his chin. He almost jumped when he felt the fox -a fox, a whole, big, wild fox- nudging his leg.
“Logan,” Leo murmured. “Come sit down.”
Once they were all sat, a few puzzled looks were exchanged. The cat wouldn’t leave Logan’s lap, and the others’ eyes his figure. The fox, apparently too excited to stay still -or not used to closed spaces, Logan thought- resumed its trotting around the room. After brief introductions, Logan placed the clothbound book on the table.
“This book was on Leo’s shelf, and he says it belongs to you,” he nodded at Kasey. The wizard hummed, taking it with careful hands and passing a hand on the cover. “What’s strange is that…the stamp inside. I know that stamp, and I know that bookshop. I know the man who wrote it, in fact.”
From his lap, Roux perked up, big eyes on the book. He meowled, jumping on the table. The woman sat next to the older wizard- Natalie, it was- bit her lip. “Yeah, he was a great writer,” she said, placing a hand on Kasey’s leg. The wizard’s eyes were fixed on the book.
“I grew up with him and his brother, Finn,” Logan blurted out. “The O’Hara brothers. They own the bookshop. They went missing about—”
He was interrupted by Roux jumping on the table, close to where Kasey’s hands were holding the book. A gentle paw tried to open it, and Natalie, after a nod from Leo and Kasey, complied. The cat turned to look at Logan, then at Leo. He touched the stamp and meowed.
Logan frowned. That cat was weird, loud and messy. Even worse, he was making Logan’s heart beat incessantly, for some reason. Like hope was something he could afford. At his side, Leo shifted on his seat. He heard him mutter there’s no way before he quickly got up, starting to pace the room.
“Okay,” he said, a tremor in his voice, pointing at the cat. “Okay. I’ll try something, but I’m not exactly sure…yeah, here goes nothing.” He looked at the fox, then at the cat. He offered his hand, and Roux went immediately, licking gently. He inhaled. “Finn.”
The cat looked up at him like he’d just been hit, and Leo repeated. “Finn.”
Logan was about to retort that—that it was insane. It was a cruel joke, and it couldn’t be, and how could it possibly be that Finn, his Finn, was a cat, in the same room as him—
But the cat meowed back. And then again and again, and then it was looking at Logan.
The tears prickled before Logan even understood what was going on. He opened his mouth a few times, only for no sound to come out. But the cat came to him all the same, until he was sitting in front of him.
“Finn?” he asked faintly.
A few hours later, Logan eventually stopped crying. Natalie too, while Kasey was getting there. Leo smiled to himself. It had all been very confusional for a while. Logan had cried, and cried and cried, never letting the cat down. Not that Roux- Finn, it was Finn now- had other plans. A broken mantra of I can’t believe it and I thought I’d never see you again filled the room for some minutes, while Leo still struggled to understand what had happened. Why he’d said Finn’s name. How had the idea come to him?
The cat jumped in arms before he could even finish the name.
Then, they’d turned to the fox. Or better, Kasey and Natalie had been staring at it for a good while, in between scared and hopeful. Leo had seen a few tears before he even tried to pronounce Alex. They’d all taken a scare when nothing happened, and the fox didn’t seem to recognize the name. Then Natalie had kneeled, and her voice worked better than any spell. Alexander. She’d been basically attacked by the animal, and then she was crying, and the fox was yelping in her arms, and Kasey fell to the floor, pale as a ghost, before he joined the embrace.
The three of them were now in the guests’ room. They all needed a moment. Leo didn’t know a lot about what had happened before Kasey’s retirement, a year ago. They just lost someone very, very close to them, was all Remus told him when he asked. As close as they are. Natalie and Kasey had grieved. They’d looked, and looked, like Logan had, but without finding traces. A year had passed. And then there Alex was.
Logan was in the living room with Finn, on one of the armchairs in front of the fireplace. He was gently petting his head as the cat purred on his chest. A low murmur of how Logan had been looking for him the whole time could be heard from the kitchen, where Leo was preparing dinner for everyone. They all needed some soup and then a good night of sleep, after such an intense day.
In the aftermath of it all, normally Leo would have been thinking of how, in the great scheme of reunions and love, he would be left out. Because Kasey and Nat had found Alex, and Logan had found Finn, and he would be alone once the spells were broken.
Would have been.
Because a few things kept those thoughts away. A cat nudging his head against his legs. And a tired, but now smiling traveler, coming to hug him.

A snake’s plaything | Fifth year | Sebastian Sallow
🐍🌿Chapter 14 | A snakes bite
NSFW - Handjob | Spitting | Teasing | Unprotected Sex
Finally, the winter holidays arrived and Violetta could relax a bit. Most of her schoolwork was done and she had time to focus on what happened in the Forbidden Forest.
Well, she remembered everything and she realized that whatever deal she made was a horrible mistake. Violetta noticed that she sometimes saw those glowing lights again. Sometimes they were white and blue other times red and black. She knew that those were traces of ancient magic that swirled around her.
Also, it happened when she looked at her reflection it would appear that her pupils turned dark red and her reflection would smile at her or even move completely differently from her. For now, no other students noticed that luckily. Still, professor Figg felt that she was acting slightly off. He kept an even closer eye on her and now she started to have the feeling that even other teachers got involved. Violetta felt like she didn't head any air to breathe with all that observing.
Violetta was in the empty Ravenclaw common room and lay on a bench with a blue cushioned seat. Only a couple of candles lit the dark common room with the high-painted ceiling.
Violetta had her right arm straight in the air and moved her hand. For a normal person, it looked like she started at the painted ceiling but in reality, she watched those floating traces of ancient magic swirl around her arm. With every hand movement, they moved in another direction.
Violetta sighed and dropped her arm. She closed her eyes and shook her head.
No sleep, no hunger, just a troubled mind of hers.
Her guilt of killing those people ate her up from the inside. How could she be this cruel? How could she agree to this hellish deal?
Violetta pressed her eyes shut and balled her fist. She hit her forehead with her first multiple times before she stopped. How could she be this dumb? How could she be so gullible?
Well, could she really have accepted to see Sebastian getting killed? No.
A chirping noise caught her attention and Violetta opened her eyes. She listened to it again since it was so faint. Was it a hallucination?
There! Another chirp sounded in her ear and she raised up. In front of the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw floated again a glowing light as she saw in the dungeons. Violetta narrowed her eyes. She remembered the last time she followed it.
'Absolutely not!' She said and stood up. She was done with this thing. Violetta turned around to walk back to her dorm when an agitated chirping sounded behind her. The light shot past her and blocked her way to her dormitory. It floated up and down.
Violetta backed off and looked at it angrily.
'The last time I followed you I ended up in the hospital wing!' She hissed and pointed at it. A faint, sad-sounding noise exited the light and it moved slower. Now, she felt bad for it. Bad for a tiny orb of ancient magic.
Maybe she should trust it? Well, she felt like she should trust it!
'You want something from me, what do you want?' She said. The light swirled over her head and toward the statue again. It was waiting for her.
'Alright, what do I have to lose?' With those words, Violetta followed the light. It moved down the stairs and disappeared through the door. Obediently Violetta hurried after it, through the door and down the spiraled stairs of the Ravenclaw tower. While the light glided through the air it left a trail of energy. At least it was easy to follow.
Violetta reached the grand staircase and the light seemed to become quite excited. She continued to follow it further down until it stopped at a picture of a young girl with a dark green hat, black robes, and curly white hair. Her black eyes looked down at her with coldness and she tilted her head.
'Well, well, well, who do we have here?' She said with a soft voice. Violetta noticed that her canine teeth were very sharp and pointy. Her lips were so pale
'I uhh... I don't...' Violetta stumbled over her words.
'Oh dear, don't worry, I can see what you really are. I mean you were guided here.' She said and a smile appeared on her lips. The portrait swung open and Violetta blinked in confusion.
What had just happened?
'Hurry up! Don't let him wait!' The portrait said and Violetta was dumbfounded. Who is waiting?
The light next to her rushed inside the dark space. Its light wasn't strong enough to illuminate every inch. Violetta breathed up and followed it inside. Her feet stepped on squeaking floorboards. She could bet that this was some kind of contraption under her.
Without a warning, the portrait closed shut. Violetta jumped.
'Hold on tight and enjoy your night!' The woman sounded outside. The light in front of Violetta suddenly disappeared and before she could even say something, the floorboards under her feet dropped. Violetta felt herself fall into the cold darkness.
'Ominis, I swear she is somehow related to this magic that cursed my sister!' Sebastian sounded excited. 'That means that there is hope for Anne!'
'Sebastian, you don't even know if it was the same!' Ominis spoke annoyed and shook his head. He sat on the dark green leather couch in front of the burning fireplace in the Slytherin common room. Sebastian walked in circles between the fireplace and the couch.
'Ominis, just believe me it is!'
'Oh lord, you are talking for weeks about that! Sebastian, it's getting you nowhere to just draw out those fantasies. You don't even know if Violetta would be able to help your sister and also you can't demand that from her, she is your friend and mine too.' Ominis spoke agitatedly.
'I know she can and I will make her personally cure Anne, no matter the cost.' Sebastian spoke while staring at the floor.
'Sebastian, she is a person too not a tool.' Ominis said aghast. 'Since when did you become so cold?'
Sebastian stopped and looked at Ominis. He thought about his friend's words.
'You went further into dark magic, didn't you?' Ominis asked.
'Do you want to have a real answer?'
'You are losing your grip on reality.' Ominis said and stood up. 'You are dooming yourself further and further. As a friend, I beg you to stop.' With those words, Ominis left for the dorm.
Sebastian looked after him and stood there in silence. His expression changed to sadness and he walked after Ominis but he stopped.
There was a noise behind him. Sebastian turned around and the fire started to die down quickly. he furrowed his brows in confusion. What is going on here?
With a gust of air, the fire died and a grinding noise came out of the chimney. Sebastian pulled his wand and pointed it at the fireplace.
Something big came crashing through the back wall of it and slid over the coals of the fireplace, creating a black cloud of ashes. Sebastian was so confused about what he was looking at.
Violetta got up coughing. Her heart raced like crazy. The scream was still stuck in her throat. She looked down at her dirty self.
'This little fuck!' She cursed and tried to brush the ashes off, just creating more clouds of dust.
'What?' Sebastian spoke absolutely flabbergasted. Violetta looked up and stared at Sebastian. His front was covered in dark ashes too. Violetta crossed her arms.
'That's what she meant with 'enjoy your night'.' Violetta said to herself.
'How did you get here?' Sebastian asked.
'Here?' Violetta replied and looked around. She realized now finally where she was. Her mouth opened in surprise. Those high ceilings, green wall tapestry, those stained glass windows. She was in the Slytherin common room.
'What?!' She said and turned her head in more confusion. 'I am in Slytherin?!'
'Looks like it.' Sebastian said and dropped his wand. 'I mean you have eyes and can see. Not like a certain person.' Violetta turned to Sebastian and looked him up and down. He wore brown pants and a white shirt, well both were covered in black ashes like his pretty face.
'You are a bit... dirty.' Violetta said.
'You are not better.' Sebastian replied with a laugh. Violetta felt her cheeks blush under her dust-covered face. She looked down at her dirty plaided skirt and sweater. Sebastian noticed that.
'Do you maybe wanna get cleaned? I could give you some of my clothes if you want.' He said with a smile.
'You know, maybe I should go back to my common room and be there.' Violetta said and swallowed in embarrassment. Sebastian looked at her like this again, like a predator at his prey.
'That is maybe not a good idea.' Sebastian said and tilted his head. 'First, you will not get out since you are not a Slytherin student. Second, Sharp is patrolling outside. Do you still want to try?' His words sounded very convincing in comparison to the odds.
Well, she needed to stay here if she wanted or not.
'I think I don't have a choice right now.' Violetta said and shrugged her shoulders.
'I think we should shower and then go to bed.' Sebastian spoke and turned around. Violetta hurried after him.
'What do you mean bed? Where should I sleep?' Violetta spoke. She really didn't think this through at all. 'And the shower? I need to shower in the girl's bathroom!'
'Do you want to get caught?' Sebastian asked with a laugh. 'You need to shower in the boy's one with me and you will sleep in my dorm too.'
'Hold on, what? What about other students?' Violetta was aghast by his answers and commands.
'It's just Ominis, everyone else went home.'
'And what if Ominis sees...' Violetta stopped in her words.
'That's a good one! Remember it!' Violetta cringed at her bad pun. They entered what looked like a tiled tunnel with a glass ceiling that curved to the left. To the right were the dorms of the males and to the left was one door to the bathroom. Sebastian opened the detailed wooden door for Violetta. She entered and walked into a tiled pre-room with mirrors and shelves with white towels. It also had a glass ceiling. The door shut behind Sebastian.
'There are the toilettes.' He said and pointed to the left. 'Here are the bathrooms.' He pointed to the other side. Both rooms were sealed by wooden doors.
Violetta followed Sebastian like an obedient little girl. When they entered the room, they were met with warm humid air. The light fell from the ceiling through the stained glass. There were at least 20 little chambers covered with green curtains with a silver scale pattern.
'Showers this side and bathtubs this side.' Sebastian said and turned to Violetta. 'I would say we share one in case someone decided to go for a midnight, shower.' Again he just put words in her mouth that she didn't even like but made sense.
'Then...' Violetta said and sighed. Sebastian grabbed her hand and guided her to a shower chamber. It was small with a hole in the wall where you could put your clothes. The towels were already hanging on the opposite side. Bottles with shower gel and shampoo stood on the ground.
Sebastian closed the curtain and started to unbutton his shirt. Violetta began undressing too. She just stared at the white tiles silently trapped inside her head.
'You are different since the incident in the forest.' Sebastian's voice cut through the silence. 'What did you mean with you made a mistake?' Violetta inhaled. She dreaded when he would ask this question. What should she answer?
'I just meant it towards the fact that I killed the wizards from Rookwood.' She decided to lie.
'Don't feel regret! They are evil and just deserve death! Remember what they did to so many people.' Sebastian spoke and came close to her, as she covered her chest. Violetta looked at him and noticed that he was naked too. Sebastian noticed her defensive behavior.
'I don't fear you and your powers. You are something special.' He said with a soft and sweet voice. Violetta stared at his dirty face. Her gaze lowered to his freckled chest. Finally, she could see him in a proper light.
'Come.' He said and stood in front of her. He placed one of his hands on her neck and Violetta felt her heart race. Suddenly her body felt so warm. Her legs began trembling in anticipation. Violetta felt his hot breath on her dirty cheeks. She dropped her arms. Sebastian closed his eyes and his lips met hers. While he kissed her softly, he pulled her towards the shower and turned with one hand the faucet on. Warm water hit their heads.
Sebastian's other hand sneaked around her back and pulled her closer to him. Something overtook Violetta. Was it the desire for him? No, it was the hunger for him, his body, his touch, his love.
Violetta placed her hands on his back and dug her nails into his skin, leaving red marks. Violetta pushed her tongue into his unexpecting mouth. Sebastian hissed and she proceeded to push herself deeper. This hunger drove her crazy like this yearning feeling between her legs.
Fuck, she needed him now.
Violetta felt him grow against her belly and she smiled into the kiss. Violette released one hand from his pack and grabbed his dick hard, earning a hiss from Sebastian. She started to pump his half-hard member at a pick pace. She felt the precum on his tip. Sebastian moaned into her mouth, too weak to rip himself from her spell. The hot water ran down her back and an idea formed in her head.
Violetta stood on her tiptoes and pushed her tongue further into his mouth, fighting for domination. She leaned her body weight into him, causing him to hit the wall with his back. She quickly pulled her hand away before getting it smashed. Violetta smirked into the kiss and proceeded to rub her thumb over his sensitive tip. Sebastian pulled his head back, breaking the kiss. His chest was heaving heavily and he looked down at Violetta. Her breasts were squished against him blocking the view of his dick. There was this dark desire inside her eyes.
Again Violetta rubbed her thumb over his tip, earning a breathy moan from him. The smirk on her lips got wider. She loved how she was toying with him.
But Sebastian realized this too. Was he really being dominated by her?
Sebastian realized that she wanted to rub her thumb again over his tip and he grabbed her hands, forcing her against the opposite wall. Violetta released his throbbing dick and hit the wall. His domination drove her crazy. She wondered how far she could push him.
'Took you some time.' She said mischievously.
'Open your mouth.' He spoke coldly. Violetta blinked. Sebastian grabbed her chin hard, pressing his fingers into her cheeks, forcing her mouth open. Sebastian came closer with his face and spat into her mouth. Violetta's eyes widened when she felt his spit his her tongue.
'Swallow.' He ordered and so did Violetta. She swallowed his spit. 'Good girl.' Oh, he knew what he was doing to her.
Suddenly he flipped her around and she was pressed chest-first into the tiles. Sebastian still had one of her wrists in his big hands. Violetta pushed her free hand against the wall for more stability. Sebastian pushed with his free hand more on her back until she arched to a good angle for accessibility. He pushed his leg between hers to pry them more apart. His knee and thigh rubbed over her clit and a shaking moan escaped her mouth. She heard him chuckle behind her and he removed his leg. Violetta whimpered at the loss of sensation, but well, it was quickly replaced by another. Sebastian rubbed his tip between her slick fold. More and more moans spilled from her mouth. She felt his grip harden around her wrist. He was teasing her as she did him. God, the hunger in her belly consumed her mind and she pushed her body onto his dick. His tip dipped into her tight hole but Sebastian pulled away and pushed her hard into the wall.
'You are not the one who is able to fuck right now.' Sebastian said darkly while leaning forwards over her body. 'You are the one getting fucked.'
Without a warning, Sebastian rammed himself inside her pushing her more into the wall. A short scream escaped her lips at the pain of her walls getting stretched too quickly. Sebastian started at a merciless pace pounding into her. With every thrust, hoarse moans came from Sebastian and desperate ones from Violetta. His noises filled her ears and his thick dick just rubbed over all the right spots inside her. Sebastian grabbed her hips hard, bruising her pale skin. The noise their bodies created drove her insane. Sebastian released her hand and she felt him wrap his fingers around her hair. He yanked her head back until she lifted off the wall. How he still kept this hard pace was a mystery to her, but it felt too good to question it.
Sebastian's hand released her hair and found its place around her throat. Violetta gasped.
'Don't toy with me.' Sebastian growled into her ear. 'Or I will break you fucking back.' His hand squeezed her throat and she opened her lips further. Sebastian spat in her mouth again. Half of it landed on her cheek. Violetta held eye contact while she swallowed again. His eyes widened in lust and Violetta felt the coil in her belly ready to snap any second.
'You want to be released?' He asked in her ear.
'Yes...' She moaned.
'Beg me.'
'Please, please made me come.' This sounded like music to his ears.
'More, darling, more.' He hissed and she knew he got closer too.
'Honey, make me come, make me undone, fuck, just release me, please!' She whimpered and Sebastian speed up. Violetta clenched her thighs together as she felt the knot rip. With a rush of excitation and shaking moans, she came, rolling her eyes back and tears running down her cheeks.
Sebastian pushed himself as deep as he could and shot his hot seed into her clenching hole. He grabbed her harder and moaned in her ear. Sebastian rested his head on her shoulder. Violetta felt his hot breath on her skin.
'I love you.' She heard him whisper his thoughts out loud. Violetta decided to stay quiet and just enjoy this deep connection between them. Violetta closed her eyes and leaned her head into his shoulder. The warm water still rained down on them.
You're welcome, Violetta.

The Boy Born from an Obsession: Tom Riddle One shot
Trigger warnings ahead: mentions of Su!c!d3, self depreciating talk, abandonment, mentions of SA, mentions of abuse, overall dark tones
London, England
December 1926
The crunching of the snow sounded so distant under my feet as I made my way toward the hospital. The contractions weren't very strong but the healer in St Mungo’s said it was best to rest before the birth, but if I rested and didn't get back to the city how would he know where I was? I had to see him again, I know he’s waiting for me… waiting for our baby… so a muggle hospital would be the place he’d be right? As that thought formulated in my mind, a new wave of pain hit my aching body and I was barely able to catch myself on the cold frigid brick wall next to me. A contraction? Why now?!
“Hold on baby… please… we’re almost to where your father will be,” I begged as I put pressure on my bulging stomach with my hand as I resumed my march through the snow with renewed vigor, ignoring the nagging voice in the back of my mind that whispered that he had left us before and that he would abandon us again. Focusing on the contraction and the pain, I surged forward until I reached the hospital steps, legs shaking beneath me. I had made it. Just a couple more steps to Tom, my beloved, just a few more agonizing steps.
At the landing, a nice young gentleman with light auburn hair and stunning hazel eyes opened the door for me. Gently ushering me inside while jovially chastising me for not wearing warmer clothes this winter, even though this was all I had. Pursing my lips into a thin smile and willing myself not to cry, I gave him a curt thanks and dusted the snow off myself. Who did he think he was! He didn't know me! I wasn’t a charity case that had come on hard times, I was a Riddle! I was a wealthy wife…
“Who’s husband left her because she’s filthy and worthless,” the nasty voice in head reminded me as I made my way to the front desk where the reception nurse was sitting smoking a cigarette. Her sultry green eyes and wild red hair contrasted greatly with mine as I rustled a couple strands of my dirty greasy blonde hair between my fingers, waiting for her to acknowledge my presence.
“State your name and purpose, ma’am,” she exhaled a puff of smoke in my face causing, the putrid smell to fill my lungs and sting my eyes, a deadly combo. Bare with it, Merope, it’s all for seeing him again.
“I’m pregnant ma’am and very close to do. I was wondering if I can give birth here and call my husband,” I asked my voice coming off more timid than I’d hope. Why was I asking her if I could give birth here? This was a hospital wasn't it? Surely they couldn't turn me away…
A moment passed and another puff of smoke was exhaled into my face as the lady eyed me up and down for what felt like eternity before she put out her cigarette and leaned across her desk, red lipstick stained lips glistening against the wintery morning light, as she gave me a pitiful look. “Look darlin I’m going to be straight with you, I don't think you can give birth here,” she stated as my stomach dropped.
“What do you mean I can’t give birth here,” I nearly yelled attracting the unwanted attention of nosy patients and nurses alike as the green eyed woman shot me a look as if she was scolding a small child. I shrank into myself and clutched my stomach for support, the kicking of the unborn child inside me smoothed my screaming thoughts.
“I’m not trying to be mean ma’am, however it doesn't look like you can pay to see the doctor much less room and board or any treatment for that matter.”
“But but this is a hospital,” I mumbled as that feeling of embarrassment and naïveté were beginning to swell up and constrict around the heart in my chest. This was just like all those times back in the village where the shopkeepers wouldn't let us have food or some basic magical items because we were poor.
“Yes, this is a hospital but these things cost money darlin,” the red headed nurse sighed as she sat back down in her chair and leaned back into a slouching position. I watched as she fished out her cigarette cartridge from inside her breast pocket along with a matchbook, swiftly and eloquently made quick work getting out a new cigarette and lighting it. I wasn't as eloquent as her, I could never be as eloquent as she was, the thought ran across my mind as I became very aware of how out of place I was at this hospital wearing a raggedy dress with patches sowed in where the seams had ripped and gave out. My stockings had holes in them and my boots were worn and scuffed. My jacket was from some male I pawned off of and was way too big for my frame, I had no scarf and what you could call gloves on my hands didn't even protect my fingers from the harsh winter weather. Compared to the eloquence of the nurse and other patients of this hospital who were very well dressed, I looked like a rat who had managed to scurry her way into a palace.
For a moment, I felt as if the floor had been swiped out from underneath me as a new wave of pain hit me once again, another contraction. Gripping the countertop, I tried to focus on something that would distract me from the pain. Something, anything to district from this ungodly pain…
“Is that a telephone perchance,” I asked as I exhaled a breath and looked at her with pleading eyes, the ringing of the phone had just stopped and it brought back one of the happiest memories I had, my wedding day at Tom’s family’s manor where they had such sophisticated muggle appliances such as a telephone. I have never seen one in my life before and was fascinated by the appliance which Tom taught me how to use. Oh my love, Tom… how I wish you were here to tell them all to bugger off and hold me while I endured this pain for our child.
“It is. Why,” the nurse asked as she exhaled another puff of smoke lazily.
“May I make a phone call to my husband? He can pay for everything I swear. His name is Tom, Tom Riddle. If I could just call him he’ll be over and pay for my expenses and I can give birth here,” I pleaded with her as my voice cracked in desperation. Why wasn't he here? He was supposed to be here!
“Your husband,” the nurse drawled suspiciously as she quirked an eyebrow at me as if I was lying.
“Yes my husband, call him,” I snapped at her, feeling a bit irate at the moment. This stupid muggle twat, how dare she question that I was married to Tom. How dare she question our love! I was with his child after all, he married me not her. He wanted me!
“Alright, I’ll call him,” the nurse sighed as she got up from her seat and headed to the phone located in the hallway. I watched as she stayed on the phone for awhile, talking to whomever was on the other end before she trotted back my way, her heels clicking against the tile floor before she sat down in front of me, taking another long drawl of her cigarette before looking directly at me.
“Well,” I demanded, a surge of confidence flooding through me knowing that my husband would come to my rescue.
“I was able to contact a Tom Riddle…”
“See! I told you! Now if you would just admit me into the hos…”
“And the man on the other side said that he didn't know you. He said that and I quote, “I wont give that whore a cent! Not one bloody cent. She can bleed to death after giving birth for all I care. Don't contact me again,” the nurse stated as something within me shattered, her words seemed so far and distant.
“You’re lying! Tom loves me. He loves me so why would he say such horrible things. That’s not the Tom I know… the Tom I know is loving, affectionate, protective, he cared about me when no one else did! I’m his wife! I gave my everything to him. I have his child! You’re lyingI You’re lying! Call him again! Call him! He’s mine… my husband! We love each other,” I screamed at her as tears streamed down my face and I clutched my stomach in distress. Suddenly the baby’s kicks were no longer comforting and soothing reminders of what I had created with Tom. Suddenly the were painful and horrible reminders that he had left me.
“Ma’am, I need you to calm down…”
“Stopping the amortencia was a mistake. It was a mistake! Why isn't he here! I need him here,” I was panicking now as the pain from the contraction dulled and the movement of the fetus within me made me want to lurch. I wanted it out. If it hadn't been for this… this thing I would have never stopped giving Tom amortencia! He would still be mine. We would still be happy.
“I don't know what you’re talking about ma’am but I think you need to go,” the nurse implored as she put out her cigarette and gave me a sharp look as she stood up from her seat in an intimidating manner. What kind of nurse was she?! Wasn't she supposed to help sick or injured people?
“Go? Go where? Can’t you see I’m pregnant! Where else can I go to give birth,” I wailed as more tears I didn't know I had began to stream down my face, blurring out the image of a tall blonde man who came up next to the nurse and put a hand on her shoulder, easing her back into her seat.
“Dr. Jacobson, are you done with your shift,” the nurse asked a bit stunned at the man but complied to his gesture nonetheless and sat back down into her chair.
“More or less. I heard a bit of commotion out here and I’ve come to investigate. Is everything alright ma’am,” he asked me as he pulled a handkerchief from his breast pocket and handed it to me allowing myself to clean my face up a bit.
“No. Its not alright! I’m pregnant and she said I cant give birth here! This is a hospital isn’t it! Why cant I give birth here,” I wailed to him, watching his slight bewildered look on his face before he looked over to the nurse who huffed in an annoyed manner.
“I told her that she needed money to pay for the facilities and obviously she’s lying about her husband being willing to pay for anything. I just contacted him sir, this woman is… delusional,” the nurse said the last word under her breath but it was loud enough for me to catch it.
“I’m not insane,” I yelled as I resisted the urge to hex her and instead fingered my wand as it sat in the inner depths of my front pocket. Oh how I would like to give her a good taste of my magic.
“I’ll handle this Deborah. What was your name Miss,” the blonde man asked as he flashed a smile and put his hand on my shoulder, gently guiding my away from the front desk and towards the hospital doors. In that moment I panicked as I dug my heels into the ground and resisted his gentle tugs, they were gonna kick me out and let me give birth on the streets like some animal. The thought elicited a new amount of sobs that spilled from the back of my throat and resounded into the hospital foyer.
“How can you people do this! Its the middle of winter! My child will die if it’s born in the streets,” I frantically yelled to the man. If this unborn thing died, Tom would never forgive me. It’s his heir after all.
“No one said you will have to give birth on the streets, miss. I will personally drive you to a place where you can give birth comfortably and they wont charge you anything either. If you’ll just tell me your name miss,” he asked once more his bright calming blue eyes reflecting into my dull gray ones as I bit my bottom lip and contemplated my options. I couldn’t give birth here, that prissy bitch of a nurse had made it evident that I was not welcome here and I cant give birth at St. Mungo’s for my father and brother would potentially find out even though they were locked away in Azkaban. I was out of options, and this man seemed like a kind gent, much like my Tom.
“Merope. Merope Riddle,” I choked out as I followed him out of the hospital and he guided me to his car sitting in a parking area outside of the facility. He was a gentleman through and through as he opened the door for me and helped guide me into the seat since it was hard to sit down with the baby dancing inside my womb.
“Trust me Mrs. Riddle, you and your baby will be… safe. I can’t say its the most comfortable of places, that would be lying on my part but at least you’ll be out of the cold,” he comforted me as we both sat in the vehicle and he drove away from the hospital towards Merlin knows where. We passed multiple buildings and parks covered in snow, until we reached the less populated outskirts of London. There were a few apartments about this area, I recognized them as Tom had pointed them out on our honeymoon that these were where poor factory workers lived and laughed at the run down conditions. What I would give to live in one of those right now with Tom at my side instead of this blonde physician. Passing the apartments, the car lurched to a halt in front of a very large gated manor. The outside of the building was a dingy rust colored mansion with multiple vines creeping up the front of the building. There were various windows about the building and in some of them I could see the ashen faces of children who were inside the building on the other side of the glass.
“We’re here,” Dr Jacobson said giving my hand what I suppose was meant to be an encouraging squeeze but to me, I could feel the bile of disdain travel up into my throat. Did he think I couldn't read? The black gate in front of the building spelled out a place that I had been dreading to see for months, an orphanage.
“Is there truly no other place,” I inquired as I let him help me out of the car once more, my tears all but forgotten as we both headed to the gate and gently pushed the iron bars open.
“This is the best I can do, Mrs. Riddle.”
“I see. Thank you for your kindness,” I muttered despondently. How could I have even hoped for better. There was no room in this world for the weak and poor, not in the muggle community or the magical one. My father and brother taught that to me well, if only I had listened and not hoped.
I let the doctor knock on the giant doors that lead to the inside of the manor. It took a moment but the doors soon opened and we were greeted by an elder woman dressed in a black cotton dress with messy brown hair done up into a bun and stern brown eyes. She took one glance at me and then gave the doctor a brief look before sighing and moving out of the doorway, granting us access to the hallway within.
“Please come in,” she said, her voice sounded a bit hoarse but I paid no attention to it or tried my best not to.
“Its good to see you again, Lady Tilda,” the doctor said as he took off his hat and gave a rather informal bow to the brunette older woman who just sighed.
“I take it she needs a free place to spend the night and give birth correct,” Lady Tilda directed her statement at me as I nodded my head yes and followed her as she began moving out of the entrance hall and down one of the many corridors in the building.
“Yes. May I give birth here,” I poised the question as we entered a room with cots lining the inside of it and some old medical equipment sitting on a tray in a cart that was situated in the middle of the room. Silently, the older woman motioned for me to come sit at a cot which I gratefully took. I was tired and my feet hurt.
“I will send for a nurse to look after you in a moment. Make yourself comfortable, you may be here for awhile,” the elderly woman said as her and the doctor left the room and I never saw either of them again. Staring blankly at the doorway, I waited for anyone to enter the room and clung to the hope that my darling Tom would show up in the doorway and soothe me. Telling me that everything was going to be alright and whisk me away from this dreary place. Only that did not happen and instead a smaller petite built woman entered through the doorway, wearing a similar dress as Lady Tilda. The only difference was she was younger and she had very visible freckles covering her pale face.
“You must be Mrs. Riddle. Its a pleasure to meet you. I’ll be your nurse and midwife, my name is Bethany Birchwood but you may call me Bethany or Beth like the children do,” the younger woman introduced herself as she held out her hand for me to shake which I did so reluctantly, disappointed in the fact that it wasn't Tom who had walked through those doors.
“You can just call me Merope,” I told her, refusing to meet her gaze. I didn't want to hear his last name, a name that brought me so much joy being married into was killing me on the inside.
“Alright, Merope it is. Would you like some tea to warm you up? Or how about some nice warm broth? Its not much but it’ll be helpful for you to eat something and regain a bit of your strength for when the baby is born,” she asked as she gently took both of my frail hands into hers and began to rub warmth back into them, a kind gesture that brought tears to my eyes as I nodded allowing her to let go of my hands and scurry off into some other part of the orphanage. She’s such a nice girl. Tom would’ve liked her. We could’ve hired her to be my midwife at his parents house. I wonder what he’s doing now, does he know his child is about to be born anytime now? I wondered as I fingered the hilt of my wand in my pocket.
I didn't know many spells since father nor brother thought I was worthy of learning any, but I was able to learn a few of them from my mothers old spell book. One flick of my wand and I could see Tom and tell him about the soon to be birth. Just one flick and I know he would come running back, or at least I hope he would. Would he even make it in time to see me before the ministry did? Tom was a muggle, he shouldn't know about magic let alone have known about amortencia. If they find out we will never be together again, I panicked and my breathe hitched in my throat and tears welled back up in my eyes. Just in time for me to see the blurry figure of Bethany enter the room and quickly set down the tray on the bedside tabletop before sitting down on the cot besides me.
“Don’t cry love, shhhhh everything is gonna be fine,” She soothed me as she held me in her arms and rubbed comforting circles on my back while rocking back and forth like a mother would do for her child, like my mother did for me all those years ago.
“Do you think you can eat a bit love,” she asked me after a couple minutes as she directed to the food that she had brought in for me to eat.
“Yes. I can eat,” i told her, feeling a bit famished as I looked at the stale piece of bread and potato soup with broth. It wasn't much but it would have to do. Reaching over to the tray of food, I began scarfing it down with what little energy I had left in my body. Today was exhausting.
“If you’re still hungry, I’ll see what else we can spare to give you. You’ll need all the energy you can get for the birth,” Bethany told me as she rubbed my swollen belly where the fetus seemed to be happily kicking against her touch. I didn't say anything about her touching my stomach, I could hardly care as the more movement I felt the more I longed to be elsewhere… anywhere but here as long as it was with Tom. This thing had torn us apart and I would be happy to be rid of it.
“Thank you, you are very kind,” a voice that sounded distantly like my own replied in a mechanical way before the silence engulfed the room once more. I didn't want to speak to her. Even though she was so nice, she wasn't whom I wanted to see. I wanted my husband, and as the hours passed and daylight gave way to the night sky it seemed like less and less a possibility that I would see him again.
“Where are you, Tom,” I whispered quietly to myself. Bethany had stepped out of the room to go to the lavatory which left me all alone with my thoughts, well almost all alone, it was me and this fetus that resided within me.
“I miss you,” I mumbled out loud as I was about to touch my stomach only to feel liquid pool around my legs in the worst possible way, my water had broken and the child was definitely coming with or without Tom being by my side. As a new more powerful contraction hit me, my midwife Bethany came back into the room and one look at the situation and she immediately went into action. Forcing me to take off my stockings and undergarments so that the baby could be born and monitoring my contractions and dilation. It was all going so fast, too fast… I thought birth was supposed to take hours! Another painful contraction hit followed by another one, they were getting closer and closer each one more agonizing than the last.
“You’re doing great Merope! You’re dilating quite fast. I suppose you may have already been a bit dilated before coming here. You’re 9 cm dilated, only one more to go and its pushing time,” Bethany encouraged as I smiled half heartedly while gripping the sheets so hard that my knuckles turned white.
“If only I could cast magic… I may be able to numb some of the pain,” I cried out only to realize that I said my thoughts out loud which earned a hearty laugh from Bethany, who as I suspected was a muggle who didn't know any better.
“If only ha! That would make all deliveries so much better,” Bethany laughed as she checked on me beneath my gown again and came back with a hearty grin… a look on her that I did not like.
“I believe its time for you to start pushing. When the next contraction comes, I need you to push with all your might ok,” she stated kindly as she wiped some of the sweat off of my forehead and gave my hand a good squeeze. This was really happening, I was really giving birth… alone in an orphanage.
“I’m scared,” I croaked. I was terrified. The pain was enough to scare any living man, let alone woman but here I was doing all this alone for a man who wasn't even there to hold my hand or sit outside a waiting room for me.
“You’re gonna be ok. You can do this Merope. You’re stronger than you think, now when the next contraction comes… push,” she emphasized the words push and sure enough the next contraction hit hard and fast. I followed her instructions the best I could and pushed, I pushed with everything I had, letting out a blood curling scream and crying each time a new wave would hit. It was painful, oh so painful as I could feel the head of the child ripe me apart down below as Bethany happily exclaimed that she could see its head crowning.
“I cant do this anymore. I can’t,” I cried utterly exhausted and in so much pain. How did women do this all the time? How did my mother do it, were the thoughts that were swirling through my head as another powerful contraction hit and I felt as if I might pass out.
“Yes you can Merope. You must. For your own sake and the sake of this child. All I need are two more pushes from you. You can do that right, just two more giant pushes,” she emphasized as she smiled at me and I nodded weakly and gritted my teeth pushing as hard as I could. It was agonizing but for a moment relief washed over my fatigued body as the smaller body of my child was removed from me and it let out a healthy wail into the night.
“Congratulations Merope! It’s a boy,” Bethany exclaimed in excitement as she handed me the small wailing baby that was covered in a slimy white coating and some bits of blood on him. He was small and wrinkly but had a very loud cry which indicated he was healthy.
“My baby boy,” I smiled lovingly as I cradled him in my arms and cooed at him, hoping it would soothe his cries. The effect was almost immediate as his wails slowly reduced to whimpers before he nuzzled his head in my chest and one of his tiny fists gripped my finger.
“What will you name him,” Bethany asked as she scurried to another end of the room and wheeled over the tray with medical instruments in it lay. With the quickness and ease of a professional, she clamped and cut the umbilical cord and swathed my child in a warm blanket so he wouldn't be exposed to the night air before helping walk me through the placental delivery which was honestly like pushing out a small ball of period blood. It was grotesque but necessary.
“I will name him Tom, after his father,” I said in a day dreamy state as I noticed little tufts of dark brown hair shooting from his pale head which I gently caressed as he had passed out from exhaustion.
“Tom Riddle? That’s a nice name. No middle name though,” Bethany inquired as she looked between me and the baby.
“I have never thought about a middle name before, but I think a suitable one would be to name him after my father Marvolo. Yes, that will do. Tom Marvolo Riddle will be his name,” I told her. It was the perfect name, the blend of both our worlds… muggle and magical.
“That’s an excellent name. Let me get the birth certificate form for you filled out so we can mail it to the British royal registry and then i’ll help teach you how to nurse if he doesn't latch on properly. You should rest now,” Bethany replied as she slowly got up and started to head out of the room before it dawned on me, maybe they too have a telephone here. I could make a call to Tom! Notify him that his son was born. He’d be delighted to know, I’m sure he would.
“Wait please! Is there a phone I could use? Please this is urgent. I would love to contact my husband, tell him that our son is born,” I pleaded with her, hoping that my eyes conveyed my unwavering conviction in this matter. There was no way what that other lady said was the truth. Tom wasn't that kind of man.
“We do have a phone… but you really should rest and recover. You tore quite a bit and you're still bleeding a bit,” Bethany said hesitantly as she bit her bottom lip and looked anywhere but my eyes. Why were all these women so hell bent on keeping me from my husband. Whores! The lot of them.
“I will be fine. Please, I need him to know,” I urged as I got out of the cot and staggered her way, leaving the small baby Tom in his portable cradle all by himself. He was asleep so he should be fine and I’ll only be gone for but a moment, I consoled myself inwardly as I made my way to Bethany standing at the front entryway of the room who sighed but began showing me the way to the phone regardless.
“Just one quick phone call. We normally just use the phone for emergencies,” Bethany instructed me as I staggered behind her with a little hop in my step. I get to hear Tom’s voice. Tom, my love, how are you doing? Have you been eating well? Did you miss me? Why didn't you come to see me and our child? All of those thoughts jumbled in my head as my heart pounded in my chest as I came upon the orphanages phone. Swallowing the lump in my throat, I dialed the number that I memorized for Tom and asked the operators to link me to the phone in the riddle manor. It wasn't long until an all too familiar voice answered the phone.
“Hello? Who is this,” the deep baritone voice of my lover, my husband, answered on the other end. He sounded cautious but open to talking, which I took as a good sign.
“Tom? Darling, its me! Merope, your wife. Where are you? I have just given birth! You have a son,” I exclaimed gripping the phone tightly as silence came from the other end. Deafening silence that seemed to last for ages, and as moments passed I feared that he had hung up on me.
“Tom?! Are you there?”
“Why are you calling me,” came the steely voice from the other end which took me aback. It was still Tom’s voice but not the loving, caring, and protective voice of the man I loved and married.
“Don’t jest dear. I’m calling because I gave birth and am wondering when you will come pick us up. We are at Wool’s Orphanage. The horrible nurse at the hospital told me that you said some nasty things so we had to come here. But everything is ok. I have had a wonderful midwife and your son, your heir was born safe…”
“Bloody hell would you just bugger off already! I thought I made it clear the day I left and every other day that followed that I don't want to see your filthy face before me ever again. Whatever the nurse told you in the hospital was correct. You’re a whore… no you’re worse than that and I loathe your existence. What you did to me… with whatever devilsome power you sold your soul to I want no part in! I want no part in what you forced me to make with you. As far as I’m concerned we were never married and we never had a child,” the man on the other end spat into the phone, each word digging a knife deeper and deeper into my heart as tears begun to stream down my face.
“Tom please, I can explain. Please don't abandon me… I love you,” I cried clinging to the phone for dear life as my knees shook, barely holding up my small frame.
“I don’t love you. Never have and never will. If you dropped dead I wouldn't even bat an eye nor shed a tear, that’s how much I care about you Merope. Don’t ever call this number again. It wont end well if you do. Goodnight,” were the last words spoken between me and the love of my life as I heard the distant click of a phone hanging up and then silence. Silence that stretched for eternity as I gripped the phone with both hands, tears wildly streaming down my face.
‘Tom?! Tom?! Please answer! Tom,” I cried into the phone before I felt strong but small hands pry the device from my frail ones and put it back on its stand as I collapsed into the arms of Bethany who stood by there waiting.
“Shhhh love. Its gonna be alright. Come on now, lets go back to your baby. I bet he’s hungry and wants to see his mother,” she soothed me as a loud sob escaped my mouth, drowning out everything else around me. I was so stupid. So foolish to think that I deserved his love or any love for that matter. My father and brother were right! I was Merope the loveless. No one could love me and I couldn't love anyone in return.
“I gave everything to him! I gave up everything I had and it still wasn't enough,” I sobbed as Bethany became like a pillar, holding me up and guiding me back to the birthing room where young Tom jr was sleeping soundly.
“Its not you dear…”
“Yes it is! It’s always me! I always mess everything up. My brother and father tried to tell me this early on and I didn't listen. I shouldn't have hoped. I shouldn't have wished for better. There was no point in any of this! He doesn't love me! He… he never loved me. I should just disappear, i’m not needed in this world,” I cried as I sat down on this the bed, a fresh new set of sobs wracking through my body.
“Of course you’re needed in this world, that small baby over there needs his mother and doesn't know any different. You’re all he has,” Bethany told me gripping my shoulders as I looked over at the small baby sized bed to see the pale boy with tuffets of brown hair squirming. Suddenly I felt sick to my stomach, all motherly feelings I had felt for this… this thing were gone and replaced with loathing and hatred for it. It was all its fault! I wouldn't have stopped amortencia with Tom if I wasn't pregnant with it! It was his fault that Tom left me! This thing ruined everything for me! It ruined and injured my body, it destroyed my relationship with Tom… it… it was evil.
“I hate it! I don't want it! It ruined everything for me,” I screamed at Bethany causing her to take a step back with eyes wide open as the baby whom I was referencing to woke up and started crying loudly. Covering my ears I tried to block out the cries from the newborn thing in the bed next to mine. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up! Were the only thoughts I could muster as I ignored the fact that Bethany had picked him up and was bouncing and cooing him.
“He’s probably hungry. I think you should feed him,” she told me as she tried to hand him back to me and I shoved her away, hoping that both her and that thing would fall to the ground. Unfortunately, she caught her balance right away and neither of the two of them were hurt. Instead she walked right back to the baby bed and placed him back down in the baby bed before turning to me, an odd fire lit in her eyes as she walked over to me.
“You will cease this behavior this instant,” she proclaimed rather loudly as her hand reeled back before it made contact with my cheek in a loud and prominent slap. The kind midwife who had brought me food earlier was gone and replaced by a woman who resembled my brother when he was angry… always physically assaulting me even though I didn't do anything that was wrong.
“You have a child. You are a mother now. It is time to stop being selfish and grow up. Now, will you feed your baby or do I have to give it formula,” she asked in a stern voice as I touched the cheek that she had slapped. It was already starting to swell a bit. Looking down at my lap, my sobs slowed down into nothing but silent tears. I had to comply to what she was demanding, after all people like her were all the same. Nice when they want to use you for something, and mean when you didn't do what they asked of you.
“I’ll feed him,” I whispered as I slowly shed my top and revealed my breast exposing my nipple to the cold night air as I held out my arms for the neonate to be placed in them. Cautiously, Bethany gathered up my son in her arms and gave him to me. For a moment I hoped he wouldn't latch so I could discard him and let her feed him, but that moment passed very quickly as the young child latched onto my erect nipple quite fast and eagerly as he milked what little nutrients my body was producing dry. So much so that I had to switch to the next breast, I wasn't producing much but he demanded so much from my body. They all demanded so much from me! I was tired. I don't want this. After the feeding, I handed Bethany back the child. I just wanted to sleep.
“You’re doing great Merope. Trust me it’ll get better. Even without your husband, life goes on,” Bethany reassured as she tucked little Tom back into his cot and helped me into the one I was using. My eyelids felt heavy and my body felt so exhausted, but that was fine. My love didn't want me anymore… no one wanted poor pathetic Merope so it would be alright if I went and disappeared right.
“Will it really,” I asked Bethany as I fingered the hilt of my wand in my dress under the covers. I knew she was lying, they all lied when they wanted you to do something. It was like second nature to them.
“Of course it will! Let me go get the birth certificate so we can send it to the royal registry. I’ll be right back so rest up ok,” Bethany told me as she quickly scurried out of the room and disappeared out of the corridor. Leaving me alone with the small baby in the big empty room.
“I don't want to be here anymore,” I whispered as I gripped the hilt of my wand and pulling it from the pocket in my dress where it hid. I twirled the delicate oak wood in my fingers numbly as I gazed dazedly at the ceiling. No one loved me. Not my father. nor my brothers, or even my husband. Everyone who loved me, my mother, had passed away. So why don't I join her? Join the person who loves me. Leave this mortal plane and be free. Pointing the wand at my chest, I felt a tear slide down my cheek as I looked over to the child who was squirming once more. Perhaps he sensed my magic, an amusing thought danced in the back of my mind as neither love nor disdain for the child filled my heart. Just apathy.
“Hopefully you’ll live a better life than me little Tom. Find love. True unrelenting love, and hold on to it with all your might so you don't end up like your pathetic mother. I’m sorry, I cant do this anymore. Forgive me,” I told him as more tears slipped down my cheeks as I pointed the wand at my chest. Goodbye little Tom, goodbye father, goodbye brother, goodbye my love…
“Avada Kedavra,” I whispered, preforming the necessary wand motions for the killing curse as a green light emitted from my wand and struck me square in the chest. As the world faded around me the last thing I heard was a wail from my child, my little boy as if he was crying out for me. Oh god… what have I done, were my last thoughts as my consciousness and life force faded from this world.
Bethany POV
The wailing of the newborn baby brought me back to the infirmary with the paperwork, was that woman really neglecting her child? I don’t know the circumstances between her husband and her but right now her baby needed her. Upon entering the room I resolved to give her a firm scolding, that was until I saw her arm dangling limp over the side of the bed. Oh god… oh god no.
“Merope,” I called out to her as the papers in my hands fell to the floor and I dashed over to her bedside instantly checking her pulse on her wrist, mildly aware of her baby’s cries in the background. No pulse. I checked again on her neck just in case. No pulse. I put my head to where her heart should be, tears welling in my eyes, no pulse. What went wrong! She was bleeding a bit but it was not that much! She shouldn't have died. Oh god what happened here?! I was drawn out of my own pity party by the wails of her newborn which had now reached a deafening volume, so loud in fact that I could’ve sworn that the window in the room had cracked slightly. He must’ve sensed that something was wrong, that his mother was no longer in this world. Scooping him up, I did the best I could to sooth him. Gently bouncing him against my bosom while rocking my body back and forth.
“Its going to be ok, its going to be ok Tom,” I told the poor newborn as his sobbing continued as if he was crying out for his mother to come back. Biting back my tears, I took Tom with me to see Lady Tilda. Another orphan had officially arrived at Wool’s Orphanage.
2 months later
Lady Tilda’s POV
There weren't many infants at Wool’s orphanage. Of course they had an nursery specifically for abandoned infants but more often than not most of the kids that were there were between the ages of two or older. In fact, Tom had been the first infant that was born in the orphanage and remained in its care in a long time, years in fact.
Sighing, I picked up the small sniffling babe and gently rocked him in my arms. He hadn't been the same since his mother had passed away, it was like he knew she was gone. He cried constantly to the point where he either exhausted himself or dehydrated himself, neither of which was a good thing.
“You must really miss her, poor child,” I mused as I began to prepare his formula for his morning meal. The doctor said that he may be expressing some post trauma from loosing her and that this would go away with time as infantile amnesia kicked in but for now to keep a close eye on him and to make sure he wasn't dehydrated. It was round the clock care for sure and there weren't that many orphanage staffers on hand who could handle a newborn, especially not one in need of such intensive care. “You know, some day you’re gonna look back on this all and it’ll be a long forgotten memory so there’s no need to shed any tears,” I hummed in a sing song like voice as I finished sanitizing the bottle and checking the temperature of its contents. Hmmm, just right. Finding the right balance between holding him and supporting his head was tricky because I hadn't held a baby in so long but little Tom didn't mind, because as soon as he saw the bottle his mild whimpers stopped and he suctioned on to the lip of the bottle sucking out the milk while his tiny hands tried to steady the object.
“That’s it little one, eat up,” I sighed as I walked over to the rocking chair in the nursery and took a seat. Tom’s new nurse would be starting soon and helping with his care since all the other caretakers were exhausted. At least until he was of toddler age and could feed and potty by himself.
“You have a long road ahead of you but you’ll be alright,” I lied looking into his navy blue eyes which would surely turn brown as he got older, most of these orphans didn't turn out alright or survived for that matter and I was sure he wouldn't be an exception either.

God I want to talk to you(or anyone, but you seem very friendly!!), about my OMORI AUs. I'm like- mentally ill about them all, tbh. Especially bout my magical girl au(or maybe moreso on my delinquent Sunny au, or just- all of them tbh).
Cuz like- last night, I had a dream,, and tbh it was just me as a magical girl and after having a meeting with Wooly(not from Amanda The Adventurer, since tbh the creature that was ig the one who gave me magical girl powers(lying, awesome *lie*), was just a sack of wool that had a face or smth I dunno), and at the end I got some like- roller skates, and my mind went like: “for balance”. And then once I woke up, and I had that idea for my magical girl Sunny design n stuff
Mari is bedridden, due to her bad knee getting worse(me not having an idea on how to make her a magical girl🤭). Sunny wants to help her(oh yeah, all of the cast of Omori here are all fem or ambiguous,, more fem leaning so yayay!! all lesbians !!!), and so she wishes for Mari to “be back to normal”(weird ass wish but my gal is, :autism:).
Sunny's design is like,, soft and puffy at first(like a cat or a sheep!!) but after like- some major stuff ig she can change her dress n stuff to be more like,, mature looking in the future(gives that white gown feeling to it, and stuff ig I dunno a wolf?? dhsjhdbeshb).
Sunny has an undercover magical girl name(the rest do as well) and her name is “White/Black Swan”(White for good/true ending, Black for bad/knife/hikkiomori ending)
More on her design tho!!! She wears the roller skates, that are colored red, also with the red hands(“to be normal” implies that smth was abnormal to her with Mari when she made that wish, and so she has the red hands and roller skates for comfort/balance. The red hands help her legs to focus on running!). Her dress design color is like, how headspace kinda is(purple/violet/lavender, light blues, and pastel greens with yellows and bright reds abit). Her dress is very puffy, like Madoka's,,, The insides of her hair are dyed purple, and is long like Mari's(even tho that's rlly long for a 12yr; yea she was 12 when she made that wish).
Oh yeah! This AU is called “OMOGIA: Winter hell”, cuz it's based off of four things. LMK Winter au, “Alice of Human Sacrifice”, OHHELL OMORI(my au on where Kel dies, Delinquent Sunny, etc), and Madoka Magica(the records moreso).
Her witch form. Okay so witches here, are called “Boxed Spirits” <- minor, “Boxed/Caged Demons” <- major. Sunny's Caged Demon form is called “Dorus Gray”(first name was "White Wing", then changed to "Dorian Gray", now it's this). Caged Demon form, takes the looks of 12yr Sunny, with abnormal long hair, that then (ig) kinda swallows Sunny or goes to hide her eyes(“Dorus Gray” uses he/it pronouns, as it moreso looks like canon omori,, ina way- like that mystery potion but reversed n all)
Sunny turns into Dorus Gray in her room, but the barrier also looks like a Hospital('She couldn't get the place out of her head, now that Mari is gone... All because she fell out of her bed, and messed with some of her wires that kept her alive..' Sunny failed Mari. How could she!). Dorus Gray just sits on the bed, while having his familiars stay with it. The familiars all have Mari's hair, but they also look like combinations of her friends(Kel, Parsley, Aubrey, Hero). The “Parsley” familiars are also much closer to Dorus Gray, and stand out the most due to their blond/light baby blue hair. The “Aubrey” familiars also stay close to Parsleys. Kels and Heros, stay close as well but they are also.. they seem distant in personality and relationship(“it's strained ever since Hero's girlfriend(not "gorlfriend" what), died in the hospital.. she was never okay after that.. ... now here I am! Stuck in this place, and I get saved by you..!” Kel said with a smile towards the now mature-looking Sunny, but it looked weird in a way).
Heros are also the ones farther away from Dorus Gray, while the others are closer to Dorus Gray(but also father as some want to stay away from Dorus Gray). Dorus Gray doesn't mind that though. He doesn't need to. All he needs to do, is “be normal”, so with that? It'll sleep. While it covers Sunny's eyes, it sleeps to show Sunny a utopia. Sunny didn't fail Mari, she's normal.
Oh yeah! I think I forgot to say, that I gave Sunny a full name! Her full name is; Zen “Sunny”(a nickname) Yanagi. Zen can have an ‘O’ or an ‘A’, but Sunny doesn't rlly care bout that, so yeah. (Sunny is Greek/Japanese here, learning English! ,,, that's where the "Dorus" part comes from,, it comes from the Greek/Greece(?) side of her family). I work on Sunny too much- I need to give her/him a break honestly,, djbdjsbdnsb
(if I told you I am just coming up with this along as I go, would you believe me?? Cuz tbh I can't believe meself too,, making lore out of words- woa)
Sorry if this was wayy too long!!! Djbdhdbs
ohoh!!! forgive me if im not able to add much (sleepy...nothing in my brain) but :O!!!! sounds prrretty interesting ^_^ !!! neat!

Hi Anne Friends!
This is my original Anne Of Green Gables Fan Fiction story. I made the mistake by taking the previous story down off of Fan Fiction, fixed my mistakes I had made, and then re posted it.
I’m hoping to get some feed back on this story as well. I have 6 chapters for this story and they are all on Fan Fiction. I’m thinking of taking this story down along with a few others I have and start fresh on my stories. New ones. Something that people haven’t seen before that I wrote.
I say this because this story and another story I had did a update on. That can also be a mistake to I had made.
I’m trying to get reviews and feed back on my stories and it’s harder then I thought. So, that’s why I’m thinking of taking them down and starting completely new.
Would guys leave me some feed back on this story and the other one I posted? I would appreciate it.
Thank you!
Summary: Working at the orphanage while Gilbert is studying medicine in Halifax. Anne becomes attached to a little orphan name Ruby. When Ruby becomes sick, Anne asks Gilbert for Ruby to be his first patient. Eventually, Anne and Gilbert adopt Ruby.
Author's Note: This is my first Anne Of Green Gables story. I am re reading the books. I am only on book 3 and I am enjoying them! I would like to thank my new friend I met on Instagram for all her help on the story so far! She has answered a lot of my questions about the books/movies. Thank you again! I hope you enjoy the new story.
Chapter 1: Anne's POV
"Please Gil? Can't I work at the orphanage? I know what it is like living in one. I lived in one for at least three months. It's a dark and lonely atmosphere. Especially if you don't have any friends and don't know anybody. It will give me something to do during the day while you're at the hospital practicing medicine, please?" Anne begged.
Gilbert sighed and sat down on the chair. "Anne, sweetheart, what if you get attached to a child? I'm not sure if we can take care of one; I'm so busy at the hospital as is it. What if you find a child and want to adopt one? Would you quit your job at the orphanage?"
"Don't be silly Gil. Of course, we are in a good position to take care of a child. I have no intentions in adopting one just yet. I just want to help and make some kids happy, tell them stories and try to keep them out of trouble. I might even teach at the orphanage if I can." Anne said.
"Where did you hear the orphanage needed help?" Gil asked.
"While I was in town. I was at the post office sending a letter to Diana. I overheard one of the ladies in the post office say the orphanage needs help. They are awful low on staff. They probably have around 20-50 kids at the orphanage. I want to help with the younger children. Please Gil?" Anne asked.
Gilbert sighed. "Anne, I would love to see you work at the orphanage, truly I would. But they have an epidemic going on right now. We are so busy at the hospital. I don't want you getting sick. Children that young get sick a lot, especially during the fall and winter seasons. I don't want to see you get sick and end up in the hospital."
I groaned. "I won't get sick. Besides, you're the best doctor in that whole hospital and you will take care of me if I get sick. Please?"
"What if one of the children get sick? You'll want to attend to them. Take care of them." Gilbert protested.
"Of course, I'll want to take care of them Gil. That would be part of my job too. And if they have something that I can't handle, I can have you get them better. I'll even bring the child to the hospital so you can look after him or her" I begged.
Gilbert groaned and I could see that he was getting ready to give in. I just had to work my magic and imagination a little bit more.
"If you get sick, I won't forgive myself because I allowed you to work at the orphanage. And I would have to take time off of work so I can attend to you, not that I wouldn't mind that." Gilbert added.
I got up from the chair I was sitting on and walked over to my husband. " Gil, I'm not asking to adopt a child, not yet. I'm just asking to work at the orphanage. Just for a little while. I get so bored and lonely sitting in this place. My imagination can only do so much in this tiny apartment. I'll be home in time to still cook our dinner and we can spend time together in the evenings like we always do. I would just work from the time you leave to work at the hospital and I'll get off of work when you get off. That will give me plenty of time to cook dinner. I'll have the weekends off too and I won't work the holidays either. Please?"
Gilbert looked at me and I gave him a smile. He sighed and at this point, I knew he gave in. I had won this battle, even though there is an epidemic going on.
"Do you really want to do this? If you start feeling ill, I want you to tell me immediately. Don't even try to hide it. And, if it makes you feel better, I'll even check in with your chargers if they get sick. Do we have a deal?" Gilbert asked.
I squealed in happiness and almost knocking Gil out of his chair. He chuckled as he steadied me back on my feet.
"I know how hard it has been for you since we came here. I want you to be happy too, not just me. If working in the orphanage will make you happy, then I will be happy to have you help out there. Just promise me that you will try and take care of yourself. I don't want you to get sick." Gilbert said.
"Oh Gil. This makes me so happy. I can't tell you how happy I am. I promise I'll be home in time to make us supper and we can spend the evenings talking about our day just like we always do. Thank you Gil I want to bring some happiness to the children." I told him.
"Of course you will. I'm sure you'll find some little child that has as much as imagine as you do. Just don't get them in trouble." Gil said chuckling.
I gave him a big kiss and a hug. He chuckled.
"What if they don't like me?" I moaned into his shoulder.
Gil rubbed my back comfortingly and chuckled.
"Of course they will like you. They'll love you. You can keep the kids entertained for a few hours. You can read to them, tell them stories. The Matron will be lucky to have you, not to mention the staff. If this job doesn't work out, you can come and work with me. We have a few children that come into the hospital every now and then." Gilbert said.
"Can't you come with me? Please?" I begged him.
"I am sorry sweetheart, I can't. This is something you have to do on your own. I am having a meeting with the head Doctors and some staff members about the epidemic that we have going on. Our hospital is only so big. We are trying to figure out what do with the new number of patients that will be coming in and i think it will be soon I imagine. We want to discuss how we can help them and make them comfortable. You understand don't you?" Gil asked.
" I do. I just don't like the answer." I said.
" I'm sorry. You can tell me all about at lunch. You can come to the hospital and we can eat lunch together. My meeting should be done by the time your interview is over. " Gilbert said.
" I'll take you up on that offer." I said.
"Come on sweetheart. Let's go to bed. We both have a busy day tomorrow.
". Now, can we please go to bed? I'm exhausted and I have a long meeting to do tomorrow." Gilbert said.
"Very well. I'm going to soak in the tub first. I'll see if that helps me calm down. I still feel anxious and jittery. A good book and warm water might help me relax a little." I said.
"Doctors orders. Go and take your bath. I'll be reading in bed. Come on, let's go." Gilbert said.
Just like that, the two of them headed off to get ready for bed.

Tips for Navigating the Kedarkantha Trek
Kedarkantha Trek: A Journey Through the Pristine Garhwal Himalayas
The Kedarkantha Trek, tucked away in the enchanting Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India, is a hidden treasure that beckons adventurers from across the globe. Renowned for its snow-draped landscapes, dense pine forests, and breathtaking views of towering peaks, Kedarkantha trek offers an unparalleled trekking experience. Whether you're a novice venturing into the world of trekking or a seasoned trekker seeking your next challenge, Kedarkantha promises an adventure like no other.
An Overview of the Kedarkantha Trek
The trek begins in the quaint village of Sankri, located approximately 200 kilometers from Dehradun. As you ascend, the trail takes you through a tapestry of scenic beauty—from verdant meadows to snow-covered pathways. Towering deodar trees, crystal-clear streams, and the occasional chirping of birds create a serene environment that feels otherworldly.
The highlight of the trek is reaching the Kedarkantha summit, standing tall at 12,500 feet. The panoramic views from the top, including peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Har Ki Dun Valley, are nothing short of spectacular. These awe-inspiring vistas make the early morning ascent to the summit worth every ounce of effort.
Why Kedarkantha Stands Out
Scenic Beauty:Kedarkantha is a visual treat, especially in winter when the entire region is blanketed in pristine white snow. The frozen Juda Ka Talab, a picturesque high-altitude lake, and the snow-laden forests add to the trek’s charm.
Beginner-Friendly Yet Challenging:While the Kedarkantha Trek is often recommended for beginners, it is by no means lacking in adventure. The gradual ascent allows novice trekkers to acclimatize, while seasoned trekkers will enjoy the thrill of navigating snow trails and reaching the summit.
Cultural Immersion:The trek offers a unique opportunity to connect with the vibrant culture of the remote Himalayan villages. From interacting with locals to experiencing their warm hospitality, Kedarkantha provides a glimpse into the traditions and way of life of the region.
Accessible Year-Round:Although Kedarkantha is most popular as a winter trek (December to April), it is accessible throughout the year. Each season brings its own unique charm, from blooming rhododendrons in spring to lush green landscapes in summer.
Challenges and Preparations
While the trek is suitable for beginners, it does require a moderate level of fitness. Trekkers should be prepared for cold weather, especially during the winter months when temperatures can drop significantly. Proper gear, including trekking shoes, warm clothing, and trekking poles, is essential.
Acclimatization is key to avoiding altitude sickness. Trekkers should pace themselves and stay hydrated throughout the journey.
Beyond the Trek: The Spiritual Connection
Kedarkantha is not just a physical journey but also a spiritual one. According to local folklore, the trek’s name is derived from “Kedar,” referring to Lord Shiva. The summit is believed to have been a meditation site for the deity, and trekkers often feel a deep sense of peace and connection as they explore this sacred region.
Kedarkantha Trek: A Journey Through the Pristine Garhwal Himalayas
The Kedarkantha Trek, nestled in the heart of the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India, is a true gem waiting to be explored. Known for its mesmerizing landscapes, towering peaks, and the untouched charm of its snow-clad trails, this trek offers an adventure that captivates both beginners and seasoned trekkers alike. But the magic of Kedarkantha goes beyond its natural beauty—it’s an immersive experience that tests endurance, fosters a connection with nature, and offers a glimpse into the vibrant Himalayan culture.
Whether you're seeking solitude in the mountains, the thrill of conquering a summit, or simply the chance to escape the mundane, Kedarkantha promises an experience that will leave an indelible mark on your heart.
The Trail That Leads to Paradise
The trek begins in Sankri, a picturesque base village that serves as the gateway to this Himalayan adventure. Sankri, with its rustic charm and panoramic views, offers the perfect starting point to acclimate and soak in the natural beauty. From here, the trail winds through lush forests of pine and oak, punctuated by the sounds of chirping birds and rustling leaves.
As trekkers ascend, the dense greenery gives way to expansive meadows, frozen streams, and eventually, pristine snowfields that stretch as far as the eye can see. One of the key attractions along the way is Juda Ka Talab, a serene, high-altitude lake surrounded by dense forests. In winter, this lake freezes over, creating a magical landscape straight out of a fairytale.
The ultimate highlight is, of course, reaching the Kedarkantha summit, standing tall at 12,500 feet. The panoramic views from the top are nothing short of awe-inspiring, with snow-covered peaks like Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch creating a breathtaking backdrop. Witnessing the sunrise from the summit is an ethereal experience as the first rays of sunlight bathe the peaks in a golden hue, a moment that makes the effort of the climb truly worthwhile.
A Trek for All Seasons

Monsoon (July to September): Trekking in the Western Ghats, such as the Rajmachi Fort trek, becomes a magical experience with cascading waterfalls and lush greenery.
Winter (December to February): Ideal for snow treks in Uttarakhand, like Kedarkantha or Dayara Bugyal.
Preparing for a Trekking Expedition
Whether you're a novice or an experienced trekker, preparation is key to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
Physical Fitness: Trekking demands endurance, so regular exercise, cardio, and strength training are essential.
Gear and Clothing: Invest in good-quality trekking shoes, thermal wear, waterproof jackets, and a sturdy backpack.
Permits and Documentation: Some trekking destinations require prior permits. Make sure to carry valid identification and any necessary approvals.
Local Guides: Hiring local guides can enhance your experience, as they offer invaluable knowledge about the region's history, flora, and fauna.
Challenges and Safety Tips
Trekking in India comes with its challenges, such as unpredictable weather, high altitudes, and limited connectivity in remote areas. Here are some safety tips:
Acclimatize properly to avoid altitude sickness, especially on high-altitude treks.
Carry essential medicines, a first aid kit, and enough food and water.
Inform someone about your trekking plans and expected return date.
Ecotourism and Responsible Trekking
As trekking gains popularity, it's vital to tread responsibly to preserve the environment. Always follow the principles of "trekking in india," which include carrying back all waste, staying on designated trails, and respecting wildlife. Supporting local businesses and communities also promotes sustainable tourism.
The Spiritual Aspect of Trekking
Trekking in India often transcends physical activity, offering a spiritual journey. Routes like the Amarnath Yatra, Kedarnath, and Hemkund Sahib blend adventure with devotion, drawing pilgrims and trekkers alike. The tranquility of these trails allows for introspection and a deeper connection with nature.
Tips for First-Time Trekkers in India
Start Small: Opt for beginner-friendly treks like Triund (Himachal Pradesh) or Har Ki Dun (Uttarakhand).
Join Groups: Traveling in groups can provide motivation and enhance safety.
Pack Smart: Avoid overpacking; focus on essentials like navigation tools, energy bars, and weather-appropriate clothing.
Conclusion
Trekking in India offers a lifetime of memories, blending adventure, natural beauty, and cultural exploration. Whether you're scaling the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas, wandering through the green valleys of the Western Ghats, or exploring the unique terrains of Northeast India, the experience is bound to leave you enriched and inspired. As you plan your next trek, remember to prepare well, respect the environment, and embrace the journey with an open heart.
