Hawks x Reader Imagine
Tumblr media
You’ve been on too many dates to count at this point – maybe 7? Maybe 10? It could even have been 14. Hell, they’ve all blurred together in a haze of happiness and laughter the likes of which you’ve never known in a romantic relationship.
You’re flying – tucked into Hawks’ protective arms as his powerful wings propel you both through the air. It’s exhilarating to be up this high, yet to feel so safe. You look up into Keigo’s soft face and smile – he’s wearing his typical lazy grin and his soft blonde hair is plastered flat in the wind. He smells like a mix of oak and sweet honey, and you hope that when he leaves you later tonight your clothes will still carry the scent for a bit.
“Brace yourself, birdy.” He calls out over the howl of the evening wind as he touches down on your apartment’s rusty balcony. He gains steady footing and then slowly places you down so you can stand.
“That was so fun Keigo – and the mini-golf was a hoot, too!” You say enthusiastically, recalling the way Keigo had accidentally let go of his club on an upswing, sending it zooming through the air and into a small pond. Hawks laughs, still a bit embarrassed by his lack of coordination on the course.
“Any time I get to spend with you is a blast, gorgeous.” He pulls you back into his chest and wraps his arms securely around you. You let your head rest on his muscular shoulder and inhale deeply, taking in his delicious scent once more.
“Can I tell you a secret, birdy?” He asks, absentmindedly running a hand down your hair.
“Of course, Kei.” You sigh contentedly at the motion, enjoying the way he traces a finger along the shell of your ear.
“I didn’t quite understand it at first, because I’ve never dated anyone like this before. But yesterday I was finally able to put a name on what I’m feeling…and, well…I’m falling a little bit in love with you.” The words come spilling out of his mouth in a nervous rush. He’s rambling and sweating in the cool evening air.
“Oh, Kei.” You sigh, your heart overflowing with emotion for this silly chicken Pro Hero. You pull your face away from his chest so you can see him fully. His bright eyes glint in the hazy city lights as you pull him in for a show stopping kiss.
His lips are impossibly soft as they move in time with yours. He seems to be savoring every sensation as he groans into your mouth. You lightly drag his lower lip between your teeth in that way he likes and you can feel his hands slip down to grab at your ass. He quickly moves his mouth down to your neck, your collarbone, your shoulder – anywhere he can easily reach with his hot mouth.
“I feel the same way.” You sigh as you feel his fingers move to swirl around your chest. “I’ve been a little bit in love with you since you asked me out to coffee while on patrol.”
“Really?” Hawks chirps as he continues to kiss along the curve of your shoulder. “Sometimes I wonder how I managed to land someone as gorgeous as you.”
You slide your hand up his back and between his wings, sussing out the sensitive spot between his feathers that you’ve learned drives him wild. After a moment of searching, you find it and press down lightly. The groan that comes out of the Pro Hero’s mouth is nearly sinful.
“Why don’t we take this to your bed, birdy?” Keigo says in a low, husky voice as he scoops you into his arms and slides open the door to your apartment. “Let me show you just how much I love this body of yours.” And he spends the rest of the night doing just that.

Cherry Hills Completes New Clubhouse Renovation
Tumblr media
Cherry Hills Completes New Clubhouse Renovation Punctuating it's Centennial Celebration On the eve of its 100th-year celebration and hosting its third United States Amateur Championship, Cherry Hills, one of America’s most iconic golf clubs, announces the completion of a major multi-year renovation project to its historic clubhouse. The new clubhouse and its modern amenities will serve its new membership and generations to follow. “I can honestly say this new clubhouse turned out magnificently in terms of design, function, flow, ambiance, and dedication to preserving and advancing the club's history. One of the reasons we hired the celebrated architect we did – Mark Finlay – is because he was very well grounded in historic architecture, particularly Tudor architecture,” said Cherry Hills President Kim Koehn. “Mark was very focused on recreating the look that the original 1923 clubhouse had, and I think he hit it spot on. It's been incredibly rewarding to walk through the clubhouse since it’s opened, see people using the spaces, and be excited about being in them in the exact way the design and completed construction was intended to be used.” The historic clubhouse was originally constructed in 1923 by local Denver architects Merrill and Burnham Hoyt, who had already created some iconic landmarks in the area, including the north wing of Denver’s Central Public Library, the annex of the Colorado Capitol building, and the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The stately English Tudor-style clubhouse they created was timeless in its design and use of space. The building—which featured half-timber construction of wood and brick, pitched gable roof lines, and ornamental windows—offered magnificent views of Colorado’s Front Range, from Pikes Peak to the south to Longs Peak to the north. Today, as members and guests enter the new clubhouse, they are greeted by a massive open hallway that flows toward large picture windows with familiar views of the same Rocky Mountains vistas. Finlay was trusted with completing a grand space that appropriately honors a club and membership that has hosted three United States Opens, two PGA Championships and a host of prestigious men’s and women’s national championships while benevolently inspiring and supporting a community with scholarship initiatives like the Palmer Foundation and Evans Scholarship programs. Regarding gathering spaces and amenities, the impressive 97,000-square-foot clubhouse, with an entire second-story addition for more functional space and more advantageous golf course views, meets the highest expectations. An expansive dining area, named “22” in honor of the clubhouse’s original debut, features folding doors that retract to allow for the next best thing to an al fresco culinary experience. Touches like the design of “22” exemplifies the club’s commitment to fostering a more contemporary feel for its membership. Elsewhere, Arnie’s, a nod to golfing legend Arnold Palmer, a former honorary member, (who became inextricably connected to Cherry Hills with his heroic victory there at the 1960 U.S. Open), is a boutique adult dining facility featuring indoor and outdoor terrace seating, all the while paying thoughtful homage to showcasing the iconic figure Palmer came to be. The Palmer memorabilia and artwork displayed was carefully curated to highlight multiple facets of The King’s life and career. The outdoor patio offers a 180-degree view spanning the eighteenth hole to the south and the tenth to the north. Finally, three centrally located and vertically connected kitchens allow for improved functionality and output. Other spaces of note include the Flynn Library honoring the well-known course architect, the Eisenhower Library recognizing the former honorary club member and U.S. president, the Babe Zaharias Room recognizing the golfing legend and former Denver resident, and the Hall of Champions, which holds its rightful place in the hallway leading to the pro shop. A complete fitness center and The Swing Lounge, with four indoor hitting bays with golf simulators, will surely attract families across all membership segments for years to come. “It has been rewarding to see the genuine look of 'Wow!' on members’ faces," said Lance Sabella, Cherry Hills Chief Operating Officer (COO). “This is now a much more well-rounded clubhouse related to amenities and programming. The new venues: KidZone and TeenZone rooms, Swing Lounge (indoor golf simulator room), and the fitness center create opportunities and reasons for younger members and their families to come and enjoy other aspects of the club beyond the golf course, racquet facilities, and swimming pool. Our two new restaurants with distinct menus also provide variety in that they can experience a more casual family experience or choose to dine in a more adult-oriented, upscale environment when they are entertaining friends or business associates.” Finlay was steadfast in rebuilding, restoring and repurposing concepts and features of the original clubhouse. With that in mind, he and his team preserved but moved the Banquet entry hall and the pre-function fireplace to new locations to help bring the club's history to the surface and maintain the members' connection to the club's deep legacy. “The craftsmanship of the original building was extremely important. The craftsmanship of that time was exquisite, and I wanted to make sure the connective tissue through the interior and exterior of the clubhouse was evident in the attention to detail,” Finlay said. “The most impactful part of the design is the new relationship of the building to the golf course. Upon entering the building, I realigned the entrance axis to give an immediate view of the golf course and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The enhanced views are truly breathtaking and connected to the golf course like never before.” Cherry Hills and its iconic William Flynn-designed golf course, set against the panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains, will host its third United States Amateur Championship, August 14-20. The historic, century-old venue previously hosted the USGA’s oldest national championship in 1990 and 2012. Just as vital to Cherry Hills as hosting national golf championships regularly, is a dedication and passion to give back to the game and create turning-point opportunities for youth in the local community. Through charitable donations to the Palmer Scholarship Foundation, the Western Golf Association’s Evans Scholars Foundation, and The First Tee – Colorado chapters, Cherry Hills is making a significant impact in the lives of young people across the Centennial State. Rory McIlroy returns to world number one
Sawgrass
Rory McIlroy was the best golfer in the game going into 2020 The Players at Sawgrass. The tournament was forced to stop after one round due to a global covid-19 pandemic. At the time there was a lot of uproar in the world of sport as the 2020 Cheltenham horse racing festival was allowed to go ahead with full crowds in the same week as The Players. Professional golf stopped for a couple of months and returned in June at the Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.
Crowds
It was great that professional golf returned in June 2020 but unfortunately without crowds. It was a weird feeling without crowds at professional golf tournaments and it was hard to get motivated for tournaments. This affected McIlroy as he was overtaken as world number one in July 2020 as Jon Rahm won The Memorial tournament. There ended up been three majors in 2020 which were PGA Championship in August, U.S. Open in September and US Masters in November.
Major results
Two of the majors in 2020 were played without crowds and the US Masters played in front of a small crowd. TPC Harding Park was the venue for 2020 PGA Championship and this was a venue were McIlroy won in the past at 2015 WGC Matchplay. McIlroy finished tied 33rd at PGA Championship and a collapse of five over in the final round at Wing Foot resulted in him finishing tied 8th at 2020 U.S. Open. McIlroy kept his best major performances in this year until 2020 US Masters as he finished in the top five on 12 under after a final round of three under.
2021
Throughout 2021 the world returned to normal as crowds returned to professional sport and golf tournaments. McIlroy admitted after the 2021 Players Championship that he went chasing extra distance due to Bryson DeChambeau’s performance at Wing Foot in 2020. He missed the cut at 2021 US Masters after shooting rounds of 76 and 74. It was time for McIlroy to go back to basics and this worked as he won the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship for the third time. His best chance of winning a major in 2021 came at the U.S. Open as he was two shots behind the leader going into the final round. McIlroy’s chances of winning the 2021 U.S. Open came to an end as he played two holes in three over and had to settle for a tied seventh position.
CJ Cup
The 2021 CJ Cup came at the right time for McIlroy. Rory McIlroy won the 2021 CJ Cup and his consistency has been remarkable over the last 12 months. He went into the 2022 CJ Cup at Congaree Golf Club, South Carolina as defending champion. McIlroy has been very vocal against LIV series and my opinion is that he has used this as a motivator on the golf course in 2022. Congaree was a good test for the players with fast fairways and undulated greens.
On the course
McIlroy got off to a great start at 2022 CJ Cup after shooting a round of 66 which included reaching the green on the short par 4 15th. Jon Rahm stole the show on day two of 2022 CJ Cup as he shot a round of 62. McIlroy was still in contention at the halfway stage after going three behind Rahm with a second round of 67. McIlroy’s highlight on day three was holing a long putt on the par 5 12th for an eagle and held a one-shot lead going into the final round. He made three birdies in the first seven holes of his final round.
Final 5 holes
He had a fantastic putt for birdie on the difficult par 3 14th which set him up nicely for victory. McIlroy got up & down on the short par 4 15th for birdie and made a great putt on the 16th for three birdies in a row. McIlroy had bogeys on the last two holes but held on to win 2022 CJ Cup by one shot shooting a final round of 67. McIlroy made history by equalling Tiger Woods record of winning his next PGA Tour tournament after winning the FedEx Cup. McIlroy became world number one again after winning this event as Scottie Scheffler did not finish in the top ten. McIlroy deserves to be world number one as he has done a lot of hard work over the last year improving his wedge game and putting. My opinion is that McIlroy is the most talented player in golf and deserves to be world number one again due to a great season.

Poconos Golf: A Good Place to get a Taste of Mountain Golf
Tumblr media
Poconos Golf: A Good Place to get a Taste of Mountain Golf Playing golf in the mountains isn’t our norm, but when the opportunity arose we jumped at it – and we’re glad we did. A good mix of golf is available on the Lehigh Valley Poconos Golf Trail and we experienced three very different types of courses with rounds at Jack Frost National, in Blakeslee; Woodloch Springs, in Hawley; and Shawnee, in Shawnee on the Delaware. We had roughly two-hour drives between Valley Forge and Jack Frost National; another two hours from Jack Frost to Woodloch Springs; and still another two hours from Woodloch to Shawnee. These were all over winding, rolling roads through small towns. They provided pleasant glimpses into the quaint, charming communities but the roads weren’t designed for speed. You had to take your time and enjoy the scenery. Jack Frost National was the most interesting of the three courses, Woodloch the most challenging and Shawnee the most historical. We’ll save Shawnee for last, just because it has the most interesting story to tell. JACK FROST NATIONAL: This layout, measuring 7,256 yards from the tips and spread over 200 acres, is championship caliber but few big events have been played there. “It’s hard to schedule them because we’re a busy place,’’ said director of instruction Ryan Kearn. “We do 218 rounds a day.’’ Most striking about the course are the changes in elevation, most evident between the par-5 ninth hole which plays uphill, and the par-3 eleventh, which is all downhill. No. 14 is the designated signature hole. The area has a ski hill in operation during winter months, but Kearn says there’s no overlap between the sports. The golf and ski facilities have different owners. “In each of the last three years closing day (for skiers) came the day before our opening day,’’ said Kearn. “Our course is interesting, fun, wide open with big greens and fairways and only one water hole.’’ The bar/dining area is covered but open air on the sides, a nice friendly place for socializing before and after play. Architect for Jack Frost National was Terry LaGree. He holds a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Wisconsin but is best known as the chief executive officer at Florida’s Black Diamond Ranch. He completed Jack Frost National in 2007. WOODLOCH SPRINGS: Rocky Roquemore designed this toughie in 1992. It’s only 6,579 yards from the back tees but there’s some demanding shots that can’t be avoided. Nos. 3 and 7 – the front nine par-5s – have three landing areas on the way to the greens that can’t be missed without costing strokes. Roquemore is a busy, internationally-known designer. He’s done courses in Portugal, France, Venezuela, Colombia and the Caribbean as well as across the United States. His best-known courses are probably the Magnolia, Lake Buena Vista and Palm at Florida’s Walt Disney World. His resume also includes Pine Meadow, a popular public course in Illinois. The Woodloch Springs playing experience, while challenging, offers some fine views and deer meander through the layout without showing any fear of the golfers. Woodloch Springs is a semi-private facility. There are two restaurants in the clubhouse of the country club, and The Grille provided outstanding dining during our visit. Outdoor music and a cookout is part of the off-course atmosphere at the Shawnee Inn. SHAWNEE: History abounds here at this Inn and golf resort that has 27 holes. The first 18 was the first design of the legendary architect A.W. Tillinghast, who went on to design such famous layouts as Winged Foot and Bethpage Black, in New York, and Baltusrol, in New Jersey. Tillinghast’s first course opened in 1910. Big tournaments were commonplace there then. Top tour players Fred McLeodand John McDermott, a two-time U.S. Open champion, won Shawnee Open tourneys in 1912 and 1913; Alexa Stirling captured the U.S. Women’s Amateur there in 1919 and Paul Runyan won a title match with Shawnee pro Sam Snead in the 1938 PGA Championship. In 1943 the resort was sold to singer/entertainer Fred Waring. Jackie Gleasonlearned to play golf there and Hale Irwin won an NCAA title at Shawnee before Karl Hope purchased the resort in 1974 and built a ski area with three-time Olympic gold medalist Jean-Claude Killy heading the operation on the slopes. Arnold Palmer met his first wife, Winnie, on the porch of the Shawnee Inn and golfers there over the years included Lucille Ball, Art Carney, Perry Como, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Eddie Fisher, George Gobel and Ed Sullivan. Indiana architect Bill Diddel added a third nine to Tillinghast’s work in 1963 and Tom Doak created a nine-hole practice facility at the resort. A major bridge construction was underway when we visited. That’s significant because the course is divided by what director of marketing Jeromy Wo describes as “international waters.’’ The par-3 second hole on the Red nine plays over the Delaware River to an island that ends when golfers tee off on the No. 7 hole of the Blue nine and the holes come back to the mainland. Twenty-four of the 27 holes at Shawnee are on the island. “The island isn’t part of either Pennsylvania or New Jersey,’’ said Wo. The three nine-hole courses are basically flat, but very much fun. Shawnee isn’t all about golf, however. The 80-room Inn is old, but charming, and there’s vacation cottages and the Delaware Lodge also available for visitors. The resort has two pubs and a brewery. Spa Shawnee and Salon is a place to get pampered and unwind. There’s also river boating and rafting, an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool, a beach along the Delaware River, biking and hiking trails and a playhouse. That’s a lot to digest, but Shawnee is a special place and I’m glad to have experienced it. PHOTO CREDIT: Joy Sarver Read the full article
