and the yapper returns
This silly loser smh
AHHH ENOUGH DRAMA ENOUGH ABOUT MEL I WANNA HEAR MORE ABOUT UR CHARACTERS AND UR STORY PLEASE
HEHEHEHELPP?? ALRIGHTY THEN!!
I’ll talk a lil more abt the other Gods and their successors :3
So first we have Altair, God of Fortune (or so he claims) — Denarius’ husband and is just as much of a pain in the ass as he is. His personality is overall very cocky and arrogant thanks to his fragile ego. He’ll gladly talk down to others but the second someone says anything remotely negative about him he crashes tf out 💔💔 he’s very loyal to Denarius despite his usually malicious intentions and the loyalty is reciprocated :3
Then there’s Keithlin, Chaiyo’s adoptive daughter given to him by Darla — she’s already quite fragile mentally due to past relationships that really damaged her self worth, but she still tries to power through it thanks to jokes
BUTTTTTT that won’t serve her in the long run since. Altair decides to be petty and chooses her as his successor. The Sapphire Cross didn’t particularly see anything wrong with the decision because they did think Keithlin was worthy of the title. Altair is overall just very crude to Keithlin and her mental health just deteriorates more and more thanks to him
Then there’s Lunia and Nova. Nova is Keithlin’s boyfriend who she met at a restaurant that she and Chaiyo frequent (along with her younger sister Sophie but we ain’t talking abt her today) and that Nova also works at. He’s an alien that crash landed in the Navinia equivalent of Brazil, and eventually moved to the equivalent of America. He’s basically the sun to Keithlin’s moon and, despite their struggles, they’re more than happy to be together (they actually end up getting married in the future and have 3 kids teeeheeeee)
Lunia is…… complicated. It’s hard to pinpoint her mannerisms and such since she has to adapt to whoever she’s guiding’s personality so they can feel more connected to her, so that kinda results in her not really having her own personality/sense of self. She did find the Sapphire Cross’ choice of Nova being her successor (Gods can either choose their successors or let the Sapphire Cross choose for em if they’re indecisive) a bit odd at first, mainly because he just seemed like your average guy, but she wasn’t against it. They’re probably the healthiest God n successor bond out of all of them 😭🙏 their maturity and morals align almost perfectly and they’ve never had big blowups like the others. Lunia also learns to prioritize herself more thanks to Nova, so she’s slowly finding herself :))
And thennnn there’s Marino who!! doesn’t have a successor
Which is why he’s depressed LMAO he’s worried abt not being able to find a successor (and he thinks that he would be a failure if he let the Sapphire Cross choose one for him — he tends to reject their guidance a lot because he feels as if he needs to learn to be independent. He wants to be a leader, not a follower) and he’s worried that anything could happen at anytime so if he doesn’t find one now then he’s COOOOKKKEDDDD
He has an adoptive daughter tho :3 Mira
She’s the queen of Atlantis since her parents got assassinated and, considering she doesn’t have any other siblings, she got crowned really early. Marino knew her parents and took up the responsibility of being her new dad and also a guide for her. He would choose her as his successor, but he can’t since she already has the pressure of being queen at such a young age.
THATSS ALLL FOR NOW :33
#Chaotic.reblogged#Chaotic.moots#I love it when ppl yap Abt their OCs#Meanwhile my ass who gets nervous about yapping someone's ears off Abt my interests#Perchance I should start posting art again#Anyway tf am I rambling in the tags#Way to go Keith whoo whoo

checking transcripts on marrow creek and this line* is SO spooky. this is the course talking directly to chine!! is this the most explicit message that chine ever actually gets from the course? they fuck up so many rolls trying to understand what the course is telling them (rip) and here in this little tiny bit of dialogue is a person made up by the course directly speaking to chine about the nature of marrow creek?
*”austin (as crowd person): It’s not about what I want. It’s about what you want...”
(transcript of the whole scene below cut)
Austin: There is a banjo playing, and then people are slowly picking up fruit, and one at a time throwing. The fruit are like, sort of like peaches. They’re stone— they're various stone fruit. They're fruit that have pits in them. Very ripe, overripe, I would say. Like, you can see someone reach to grab one of them in their hand. Their fingers depress into the flesh of the fruit very easily.
Keith: Ew.
Austin: You know what I mean? Like, without much force. And you get the sense that the pit inside is bigger than it should be.
Sylvia: I think like when someone near me starts doing this, I'm just like:
Sylvia (as Hazard): [outraged] What are you doing?
Austin (as crowd person): Shhhh. Shh. Can I help you?
Sylvia (as Hazard): [quieter] Why are you throwing fruit at them?
Austin (as crowd person): Because they're doing a poor job. Are you okay?
Sylvia (as Hazard): [loud again] I'm fine. I'm apparently the only person here who has—
Austin (as crowd person): Shhh.
Sylvia (as Hazard): [hushed] I am apparently the only person here who has a normal reaction to not really liking music that much!
Dre (as Chine): [hushed] Hey! Hey! Do you have a— do you have an extra fruit?
Austin (as crowd person): Yeah, of course.
Austin: And hands you the one in their hand.
Dre: Okay.
Austin: I mean, there's a box— there's a crate filled with these things.
Dre: Cool.
Austin: Like, on top of a barrel not too far away.
Keith: They do this a lot.
Dre: Yeah, no, I'm gonna— I'm gonna throw it directly at the person.
[0:50:00]
Sylvia (as Hazard): Chine!
Austin: Directly at the person.
Dre (as Chine): [quietly] I'm blending in!
Dre: Yeah, I wanna hit…I wanna hit the banjo out of their hands.
Austin: Ooh. Okay, give me a, um…that sounds like a Hunt to me.
Dre: Sure.
Austin: Give me a Hunt.
Dre: What’s—
Austin: You don't have Haven, do you?
Dre: No, is the domain—
Austin: Again you could use any domain you want. If it's not Haven, it's Risky, but— and that's a bad trade on the math, for what it's worth. So I would just use Hunt, if I were you. Without help, Risky— I mean, Risky’s always just very scary, but…
Dre: Oh, so Hunt and then just leave the domain blank?
Austin: Yes, yeah. Yeah.
Dre: Okay.
Austin: Which means it— and it shouldn't be Risky if you aren't trying to call on something else. I mean, you can try to call on something else, and that will color what happens, is what I will say. I…Chine, you can use Cursed.
Dre: Hmm. That's probably fine. It’s probably fine.
Austin: Yeah, it's fine. Don't worry about it.
Dre: Yeah, don't worry about it. [Sylvia and Dre laugh]
Austin: Uh huh. You got a six, which is success at a cost.
Dre: Mm-hmm.
Austin: You, again, are gonna take D6…
Keith: That's lucky that you had that, by the way.
Austin: Oh my god.
Dre: Whoo.
Austin: Take six to Echo, here.
Sylvia: Boy.
Dre: What's the, uh…what's the tier that we're at?
Austin: Oh, we're on tier three, my friend.
Dre: Okay.
Keith: You have rollen— you have— “rollen,” Jesus Christ. You've rolled—
Austin: Uh huh?
Keith: —18 possible damage and hit 17 of them for stress.
Austin: That’s true. I'm killing it tonight.
Keith: Us. You're killing us.
Austin: I'm killing you. Go ahead and give me that Fallout test. [Sylvia laughs] No Fallout. And guess what, Chine?
Dre: Mm-hmm? Yeah?
Austin: You knock the banjo out of his hands, and doing so fills your chest with a sort of warmth and confidence. Clear Vulnerable.
Dre: Ah.
Austin: You've wandered onto one of the Haunts of this place. And I think the person who gave you that stone fruit…and again, if you picked it up, you could tell the pits in these, it's like they've been bred to be bigger than they should be. [Keith and Dre laugh] Like, it's big, heavy, like… [Sylvia laughs] The banjo clatters, and one of the strings breaks, and the person who handed it to you puts their hand on your back, like “well done,” you know?
Dre (as Chine): It's called deescalation, Hazard. [Austin laughs softly]
Sylvia (as Hazard): Wh— [frustrated but resigned] fine.
Austin: I mean, people are continuing to throw at this point, and the person is just standing there.
Keith: You said that Chine stumbled upon a Haunt. Does that mean that the Haunt is having hit this person with a fruit?
Austin: Mm-hmm. This is a place you can heal.
Keith: You can heal at hitting with a fruit.
Austin: Yeah.
Keith: Okay.
Austin: Yeah. It’s a Mind Haunt.
Dre: Feels good to break things.
Austin: Mm-hmm. You feel yourself, as you throw it, Chine, connecting to something— and you used Cursed, right?
Dre: Mm-hmm.
Austin: You feel yourself connected to something here in a deep way. Not just the people around you as you let go, but like, you feel rooted. You feel good. You feel like this is…this is a good town. [with unnerving conviction] This is a good town.
Keith: We are having very different times.
Sylvia: Yeah.
Austin: What are y'all doing at that point? I mean, this person, I think, again, uh…they put their hand on your back, and they're like:
Austin (as crowd person): Ah, damn good throw. Here, you should throw another one.
Dre (as Chine): Yeah, yeah.
Austin: And they pick one up and throw another one and, you know, hit the person. The person is just standing there, just taking these hits at this point.
Dre (as Chine): Hey, uh, you haven't seen a tall demon with one horn anywhere, have you?
Austin (as crowd person): Demon, mm…
Austin: There's like a little bit of, um…they look arou— they like shake their head, but there's clearly something being hidden here, or there's currently being held back.
Sylvia (as Hazard): [quickly] Hey, hey, hey. Hey. You know something. What have you seen?
Austin (as crowd person): [stammers]
Sylvia (as Hazard): You've seen the— hey, tell me.
Austin (as crowd person): Hey.
Dre (as Chine): Listen.
Sylvia (as Hazard): Tell me, and I will throw as many fruit as you want at this guy.
Dre (as Chine): Listen, you tell us where that person is? I’ll—
Austin (as crowd person): Shh.
Dre (as Chine): [hushed] Hey, hey. I'll nail this guy wherever you want me to.
Austin (as crowd person): It's not about what I want. It's about what you want. [hesitates] Quiet. Come with come— you stay here.
Austin: Pointing to you, Chine. And looking at you, Hazard, and saying like:
Austin (as crowd person): Come with me.
#sangfielle spoilers#SF35#transcripts that make me lose my mind#chine sangfielle#this scene is so fun i love every part of it#and the implications#the implications!!!#when i heard it the first time i immediately was like 'oh this banjo player is in on it' because i remembered marn's interview?#so it's always just been a good time imho#it feels good to break things#etc etc

VLD S8E10: Knights of Light, Part 2
Season 8 Episode 10: Knights of Light, Part 2
Transcript by @dragonofyang
Summary: As the Paladins travel further into Honerva’s consciousness, they make shocking discoveries that will alter their reality forever.
[Google Doc]
Hunk: Woah. Wait, where are we?
Alfor: On Daibazaal.
Gyrgan: It’s pristine. Last we were here, all was decimated.
Allura: The landscapes of her mind must be made up of places from her past.
Lance: Wait, hold up. If all this is a big, old Honerva thought bubble, then wouldn’t she know we’re here?
Pidge: About twenty years ago, the Garrison was able to map the human brain. They used a ventral metatronic reactor to read the theramagnetic wave signatures of each of the subjects.
Lance: Get to the point, Pidge.
Pidge: A person’s mind is an endless landscape of constantly shifting thoughts and ideas. We must be hidden in the chaos.
Keith: Do you know this for sure, or is this just a theory?
Pidge: Well, it’s a theory, but if Honerva finds out we’re in her mind, I have a feeling we’ll know about it.
Hunk: Good point.
Keith: Allura, where should we go next?
Allura: The entity wants us to enter the palace.
[Scene change to the doors before the great hall.]
Alfor: Allura, please listen to me. Alteans are life-givers. The entity you possess is a dark, ancient evil. It is not the key to winning this war.
Allura: I understand your concern, but the entity granted us access to Honerva’s mind. Without it, your spirit would still be cursed.
Alfor: If you’re looking for real power, the ability to become a true Altean alchemist, there is a place where you can train.
Allura: Oriande, I know. I’ve been there and passed the guardian’s trials.
Alfor: That’s wonderful news. You were able to gain the power of Oriande.
Allura: It isn’t enough. That is why I must learn another method. The entity will guide us toward the answers we seek.
Alfor: But at what cost?
Lance: Whoa! Where’d that thing come from?
Hunk: Guys, it’s the monster from Arus!
Keith: Form Voltron!
Hunk: Wait, where are the original paladins?
Keith: What the heck was that?
Hunk: He couldn’t do that the last time we fought him!
Pidge: This is Honerva’s mind! Anything can happen.
Lance: Wait, does this means she knows we’re here?
Allura: It appears she has guardians to protect her thoughts and memories. The original paladins, they’re still with us!
Alfor: Voltron, keep going. We’ll hold off the beast.
Keith: Thanks for the help, Paladins.
Lance: But where do we go?
Keith: Any ideas, Allura?
Allura: Yes. I know what we must do.
[Scene change to Oriande.]
Keith: Is everyone okay?
Hunk: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I’m good.
Pidge: Yeah, I’m alright.
Allura: Just a bit shaken.
Lance: What the heck just happened?
Pidge: These are traps, just like that monster. They’re failsafes Honerva is using to protect her secrets from any unwanted intruders--us.
Hunk: What? I thought the entity was supposed to be helping us.
Allura: It’s pulling us back to its source. Unfortunately, that source is being protected.
Lance: Great, so the thing that is guiding us might get us killed.
Allura: What we’re looking for is in there.
[Scene change to a barren plain of fractured earth, with frequent lightning strikes all around the paladins.]
Keith: Honerva.
Allura: Father. These must be her memories.
[Transition through a series of still shots of Honerva’s life from childhood into the flashback where the original paladins are fighting Zarkon after he’s resurrected.]
Zarkon: Where are the lions?
Blaytz: They’ve been destroyed.
Zarkon: You dare lie to me?
Trigel: It’s the truth. You’ll never see your lion again.
Zarkon: Neither will you.
[Transition back to the paladins in the barren mindscape.]
Pidge: She… she killed them.
Hunk: What she did to them was terrible.
Allura: I always assumed they sacrificed themselves, but I--I didn’t realize what that entailed.
Pidge: That's how the original paladins ended up trapped here. She took their quintessence, trapped their minds inside her consciousness. It drove them mad.
Keith: He was the leader of Voltron. And he just turned on them.
Allura: That is why we must destroy Honerva.
Lance: Allura, please. What we just saw, it was all because of the entity. The same one that’s inside you. You need to get rid of it.
Keith: If Allura loses the entity, then we lose our connection to Honerva.
[Scene change to the paladins standing in a clearing surrounded by thick glowing web-like structures.]
Hunk: Aw, now where are we?
Keith: Stand back.
[Flash through a series of wordless flashbacks of Honerva on the colony, then Oriande.]
Pidge: The deeper we get into her mind, the more recent the memories.
Allura: Good.
[Flash through a series of flashbacks that show the retrieval of the Sincline mech from the rift as the paladins destroy the web-like structures.]
Honerva: Lotor. We’ll all be together soon.
[Cut to the paladins standing Honerva’s memory of the corrupted rift.]
Hunk: Pidge, any idea what part of her brain we’re in now?
Pidge: No, I’m not sure.
Honerva, disembodied and overlapping: Wait… Voltron. Voltron! My son… I will find you. This flame represents Lotor. Son, I will find you. The end for anyone who dares oppose me.
Allura: Keith, grab my hand!
Honerva, disembodied and overlapping: Rise and avenge my son. And my Altean…
Keith: Hunk, over here!
Allura: Everyone, feel the energy of the entity within you. Don’t fight it. Let it guide you.
Honerva, disembodied and overlapping: ...deeply coiled in traditions of evil that tempt us. Voltron and Galra will pay for what they did to my son.
[Scene change to the paladins awakening in a field of juniberries beneath a glowing sky.]
Hunk: Oh, man. Oh, boy. Whoo, that was rough. Ah!
Allura: Altea! It looks… different.
Pidge: This must be the way Honerva remembers it. It must be a place she holds dear. We should be close.
Lance: Ugh, I wonder what kind of weird, freaky thing is gonna attack us here.
Hunk: Ah! Does that answer your question?
Keith: Find safety! I’ll distract it!
Lance: What? No way!
Keith: Just go! You were their leader! They trusted you, and you betrayed them! You don’t deserve the Black Lion! Hunk, shoulder cannon!
Hunk: I can’t! Ah!
Keith: Form sword!
Pidge: Uh… guys?
Alfor: Zarkon?
Zarkon: Alfor. Blaytz. Gyrgan. Trigel. Melenor? What are you doing here?
Allura: Melenor was my mother, and you murdered her! You’ve killed millions!
Lance: Allura, what are you doing?
Allura: Reminding him of the suffering he’s caused.
Zarkon: No.
Allura: You did that. All of it!
Zarkon: I’m sorry, I… I didn’t realize what I--
Allura: You knew exactly what you were doing. You deceived and betrayed your friends and allies!
Zarkon: The quintessence… it blinded me. And you all suffered because of it.
Allura: If you’re truly sorry for what you’ve done, then help us stop her. You must have been placed here to protect something. What is it?
Zarkon: I… don’t know. I… I’m sorry.
Allura: What are you protecting?
Zarkon: I don’t… That moon. It is a moon of Daibazaal.
Alfor: He’s right, that moon is not of Altea.
Allura: That is the source. No. It’s impossible.
Zarkon: They’re her deepest desires. Everything she hopes to achieve.
Hunk: How could she possibly achieve any of this? Zarkon and Lotor are both gone.
Pidge: Unless she’s going to use Lotor’s ship to pierce through realities and find the one where she can live with her family.
Hunk: Is that even possible?
Pidge: Not without destroying all other realities in the process.
Lance: What’s going on?
Zarkon: She knows you’re here!
Hunk: How?
Lance: Allura!
Alfor: Allura?
Lance: What’s happening to her?
Zarkon: The princess holds the entity within. Honerva controls it now.
Keith: Everyone, get to your lions! Where did they go?
Zarkon: You’re in her mind. She’s more powerful here.
Keith: What do we do?
Zarkon: There’s nothing you can do but accept defeat.
Keith: No! We won’t give up!
Zarkon: That’s your Galra lineage. It’s what makes you a great leader of Voltron. You and I share that trait, but look where it has led the two of us. My desire for unlimited quintessence was the catalyst for ten thousand years of destruction. Your quest to save the universe took you into the mind of a psychopath.
Keith: Yes, to gain the knowledge of what she’s doing. And now we know.
Zarkon: Yet you still don’t know how! She’s too powerful.
Alfor: Zarkon, Honerva may be more powerful than each of us alone, but the strength of ten paladins working together as one is the strongest force in the universe.
Zarkon: The lions are gone, Alfor. Voltron is gone forever.
Keith: No, Voltron isn’t gone. Voltron is within each and every one of us. We’re bonded to it, and to each other.
Alfor: We have one last chance to set things right, but we cannot do it without you. Ride with us one last time, Zarkon.
Zarkon: Form Voltron! Form Blazing Sword!
[Scene change as the old paladins crack through the barrier in Honerva’s mind and the modern paladins wake up inside Voltron.]
Pidge: We did it!
Hunk: Yes! Yes.
Keith: Nice work, team.
Lance: Allura, are you okay?
Hunk: Allura?
Lance: Allura?
Pidge: Allura, are you okay?
Keith: Allura, do you copy?
End.

Once Bitten, Twice Stupid prt 181
181
“A whoo whoo whooo...”
Curled up in his bed, Lance was woken from his dozing by a sad barking. He hadn’t known he’d caused so much trouble. He’d put his headphones on, and pulled himself together as he did another 180 over Keith. Breaking down the aspects of Keith’s life and his likes, Lance was trying to work out how to make Keith happy. He’d been deep in thought. He wanted to explore absolutely every avenue. Curtis had his demon summoned out of him. Keith might have a chance. His friend helped confirm there was never going to be a way for him to be human again.
Reading in bed, Lance hadn’t meant to doze. The book was boring as heck, a cheap trashy romance book that made very little sense. Normally a perfect distraction... His brain still excited from the three games of chess he’d played with Coran as they tried to distract themselves from Keith’s first turn.
“A whoo whoo... whoo... whoooo”
With another mournful howl, Lance placed his book aside with a sigh. He hadn’t meant to shut Kosmo out, or in. He wasn’t sure where the doggo was hiding. If it wasn’t Kosmo it could be Matt. If Matt had lost track of Rieva he tended to act extremely pathetic. Blue was curled on his bed, her tail flicking at the pathetic sound, probably because it interrupted her beauty sleep. He needed to find Kosmo on the off chance he’d gotten out and tried to follow the others.
Stopping by the bathroom, Lance bundled himself up. Fluffy robe and slippers donned, Lance held his belly for balance, waddling down the stairs with a sign to himself. Coran was sleeping in the office for the night, in case Keith got himself hurt, or he didn’t take the turn well. He felt so fat and unbalanced, carrying not low, but not like high, with Google not exactly giving him a name for looking like a team of basketballs had been breeding in his stomach. With all his amazingly wonderful powers, he didn’t have stretch marks. He wished he did. He wished his belly looked more... pregnant. Not just inflated.
Flicking the switch on for the back, Lance unlocked the back door
“Kosmo!”
It was freezing. Pulling the dressing grown around him, he shuffled out on to the paving. Damn fur sons. He could be sleeping. He’d only just peed but the air was making him need to pee again.
“Whooo... whoo. Whoo”
Maybe Kosmo was hurt? The cries reminded him of the times Kosmo thought he’d been abandoned forever by being shut out the bathroom by the big evil door. Following around to the side of the house, Lance wrinkled his nose at the moist grass. Icky. He’d have to wash his feet and his poor slippers
“Kosmo! Come here, boy!”
Whistling and clicking, Lance realised the mistakes he’d made as he blinked at the black blob in his yard. Fuck... he didn’t think Keith would be back. He thought he was smelling with from where he’d left his clothes with Matt’s and Rieva’s
“Keith?”
With a very mournful and sad whimper, Keith rose to his legs shakily. His whole body moved stiffly. Long legs ended in huge paws. Keith pitch black, eyes brilliant yellow. His teeth kind of really scary... but he looked... sad. Where were Matt and Rieva?
“Keith? Hey, buddy. What are you doing here?”
Slinking over to him, Keith let out a sad howl that embarrassed wolves everywhere. Sitting down. He stared up at Lance, Lance didn’t know what he was supposed to say or do. This wasn’t good. Keith was supposed to be giving into the pull of the moon. He’d liked to think himself educated enough, until he’d gained two werewolf roommates and he’d learned more than he ever needed to
“Did you get lost?”
Keith whined, Lance didn’t speak wolf. Dawn was hours away
“Okay. I gather you’re not having a fun time”
“A whooooo who whooo”
Howling, Keith sounded sadder. Reaching his hand out, the wolf sniffed at it before baring his teeth. Had Matt and Rieva ditched Keith? Or had they brought him back because he was hurt and didn’t want to possibly attack Lance so had already left?
“Okay. No getting too close. Smart one Lance. Go see the fresh turned wolf alone. Of course it wasn’t Kosmo out here. Fucking idiot. You can’t do anything right. Alright, Keith. You come with me with me. Coran is in the office”
“Whooo...”
Riiiiight. No. He didn’t speak wolf
“Keith. I can’t understand you, but I can tell you’re not okay. Come inside, it’s freezing out here”
Keith walked by Lance’s side. Lance trying not to freak out. Keith was hulking. He right out of a movie as some kind of death hound or dark omen. With how stiff Keith watched, he was sure he must have hurt himself. He’d never seen a wolf so stiff, the closest comparison was Keith was walking how Kosmo had after a thermometer to his butt. Maybe Matt... No. He didn’t want to think about Keith moving on and further away from him. He wasn’t suited to him anymore. If Matt and Rieva both felt that way towards Keith, he didn’t stand a chance. It fucking sucked.
Holding the door open for Keith, Keith managed to trip himself over the lip of the step. Lance now certain Keith had hurt himself. No werewolf was this clumsy, turned or not, Keith had spent hours running around as a wolf. His control would be better than this. Leading the way, he knocked on the office door, knowing Coran wouldn’t be sleeping. He just hoped he wasn’t snooping. Coran needn’t have rushed for his sake. He would have emerged from the office eventually. He’d just gotten caught up in his music and trying to make a list of things Keith liked. He was sure Keith would remain in Platt with Shiro for the time being. He was trying to think of how to reintroduce Keith to the things his boyfriend loved
“Coran, open up. I think Keith’s hurt!”
Coran came bustling wearing a borrowed robe, the same Black one Shiro had borrowed when he and Keith first stayed
“Lance? Keith... What are you doing here?”
“He was sitting outside howling. He’s not moving right”
“Oh, dear! He should be off chasing the moon! Keith, you’d better come in quick. You should be healing by now”
Keith carefully stepped his way into the room. Actions jolted
“See what I mean. He’s so stiff”
“Yes, indeed! It’s remarkable he hasn’t attacked!”
“I don’t care about remarkable. I’m more worried he’s hurt”
Coran blinked his way out of staring at Keith. Keith’s wolf was bigger than both Rieva’s and Matt’s, but he was thinner, sleeker. His fur black, unlike the mousy brown tones of his friends
“Can you get up on the bed so we can take a little look?”
Keith huffed, before making the most awkward effort ever to climb up. He was all legs and zero coordination. Coran taking pity and helping heft Keith’s butt up on the bed with the rest of him. Sitting down, Keith started again with the howling
“Whooo. Who... whooooooo...”
“See, he sounds bad. I thought I’d shut Kosmo out, or Matt had lost Rieva. Shouldn’t he be violent and angry right about now?”
“Awhoooooooo”
Keith didn’t seem to like what he’d said. Lance couldn’t help that he was shocked. Keith was being a total sook and not at all the angry anger loaf he’d been since waking
“Is that so my boy. Then what happened?”
“A whoo... whoo... woof!”
Since Coran asked, he must know how to speak wolf
“What’s he saying?”
“I haven’t the foggiest. Let me examine him, why don’t you take a seat. You look awfully uncomfortable”
That had something to do with the pain in his hips. He’d take a massage right about now
“Is it safe?”
“I don’t think he’ll bite. I’ll stop him before any harm can come to you or the twins”
Coran had stopped Matt after he’d torn Lance’s back to shreds... If anyone could, it’d be him. Sitting down in his office chair, Lance winced as he back twinges. Keith giving a loud howl
“Whoooo!”
Lance was going to either burst out laughing or be deafened if Keith kept this out. Probably both... Keith sounded very very unwolf like, despite his appearance. He sounded like he had something stuck in his throat or was trying to mimic a wolf’s sounds when all he had was a dog to go off
“Keith, indoor voice! I’m fine! You don’t have to complain loudly, Coran is going to check you out”
“A whooo... whoo... whooo... woo”
Lance ducked his head. Keith could understand him. His “howl” a little louder than Kosmo’s whining, but not full volume. It sounded that much more strangled as Keith tried to talk. Was this like when he was a bat? When he’d squeak and chirp hoping to be understood even though he knew he would be? Strangely enough Lance’s ego wasn’t riled up by the wolf like he’d thought it’d be. It was agitated, annoyed, pissed about the cold, but not about Keith. Unlike Keith who’d decided to growl at him. Coran ignored all danger as he sat on the bed next to Keith, holding his hand out for Keith to sniff. Keith seemed insulted by whatever he found on there, wrinkling up his muzzle. For a big bad wolf that took up almost all the bed, he wasn’t acting like he should. His first full moon should mean Keith was mental, near rabid with werewolfy needs. Not sitting in his office looking sad. Matt and Rieva were getting a stern talking to about leaving Keith alone.
“Now, my lad. No biting. I expect you wouldn’t find my blood all that palatable”
“A whoooo”
What did Keith have to be afraid of? Coran was a bad arse when he needed to be. He couldn’t take the fae, even if he tried
“Keith, you don’t have to howl. Coran isn’t going to hurt you. How about this, you nod or you shake your head?”
“A whooo...?”
God. He couldn’t help it. A chuckle slipped out, followed by a hiss. Laughing bad
“I have to pee. I don’t know what’s left to pee, but I have to pee. Should I bring Keith back some water?”
“Yes, he’s probably quite thirsty. Make sure you leave the door open so he knows it’s you coming”
Lance grumbled. He wasn’t about to risk being savaged by startling Keith
“I’m pretty sure I’m the only one here who smells like a walking bone that’s both pregnant and very dead”
“Right you are, but any suddenness and things could change in an instant”
Heading to the bathroom first, Lance then stopped by the kitchen on the way back. Grabbing out the jar of pickles and a big block of chocolate from the cupboard, he nearly forgot Keith’s water in the need fo satisfy his weird craving. Deciding on a Tipperary container, given it was plastic and less likely for Keith to break while he drank, he carried the lot back to the office where Keith was laying on his back with his legs up. Zero shame right there. No way was Keith coming near him with that between his legs. His nuts were huge, not that Lance wanted to see, but they were impossible to miss. If Keith found himself a wolfy girlfriend she’d be pregnant in no time
“I brought a bowl. How is he?”
Setting the bowl on the floor, Keith rolled over, giving him an unimpressed look
“What are you going to do? You don’t have thumbs to hold a glass and you’re not messing up the bed”
Keith huffed at him. Tail giving a lazy thump
“I can’t find anything wrong with him. No breaks or blood. Though he is aroused. Perhaps he’s so docile because he already thinks of you as his mate and returned because he misses you”
“Coran, I’m a vampire. He should be gnawing on my leg by now, not wanting to hump it”
Keith whined loudly, nosing at the blankets as if he wanted to hide his face
“He has exhibited signs of thinking of you as his mate. First angry you had been spending time with Allura, then over your joke. This is most unexpected. He’s not the first to receive werewolf blood instead of a bite. This is very interesting”
“Well when you’re done poking at him, he can have a drink and go for another run. He has to work off that energy without destroying my furniture”
“I want to try something first, if you’re okay with it”
For some reason Lance looked to his pickles and chocolate
“I’m not sharing”
“Gracious! No. That combination... I think not. No. I’m interested to see how Keith reacts if I approach you”
That didn’t sound like a good idea. He didn’t want his craving food spilt in the process
“Let me put this down first...”
When Lance turned his back, Coran moved up behind him. Keith leaping off the bed to get between the pair of them so fast that Lance nearly knocked the jar of pickles over. Why did provoking the otherwise docile werewolf seem a good idea?!? As Coran started chuckling, he wanted to hit him. He was jumpy enough without Coran adding to it!
“I hope you proved you point!”
“I think I have. He’s very protective of you...”
“Keith’s been protective of me since day one. Well, maybe not day one, but he did try to defend my honour more than once”
“I must do some further research into this. I mean, naturally I’ve met docile wolves before, even the occasional wolf who’d tolerate a vampire. I wonder if there’s anything in the literature over when werewolves and vampires first fell out...”
Lance had to do a three point turn on the spot seeing Keith wasn’t moving. Lowering himself into his chair, he frowned at the mass of wolf in front of him. He just didn’t get it. Was it in his scent? Rieva had been super attentive to him. Was it in werewolves to protect young, no matter who they belonged too? Nah. That was too optimistic. A female knocked up with a baby that wasn’t her mates could expect aggression. Was it because they were Keith’s scent and somehow he smelt like Keith so Keith knew not to hurt him? That too seemed far too optimistic
“So basically Keith isn’t hurt. He’s just... lonely? Do we find him a female wolf? I don’t know what to do”
Keith snarled at the mention of a female wolf. His eyes narrowing as he gazed up at Lance
“Don’t look at me like that. My arse is not taking that... when you’re not human. I don’t know what to do for you...”
“I think you insulted him”
“I can see that. Keith, you have to admit, I’m allowed to be confused as fuck. I was expecting a blood thirsty feral beast, not you to be lonely and inside. Could it be because the real full moon is tomorrow?”
“Possibly. Or the slow release of blood into his system. He has been quite aggressive, as we’ve all noticed”
Lance popped the top on the pickles, nodding because it was true. Keith had been a douche. He got it, but it didn’t make it hurt less if he was completely honest
“I think he should head back out and make the most of burning up his extra energy”
Popping a pickle in his mouth, he groaned at the bitter taste. Soooo good. He just knew the chocolate with it would make it perfect. Opening the block of chocolate, he was proved right, moaning loudly at the bitter sweet tastes. Rubbing his butt against the floor, he seemed to have flipped on Keith’s horny switch
“Should I get him a pillow?”
Coran arched an eyebrow
“Whatever for?”
“So he can take care of his urges? I want to help, but that’s a no go. I don’t even know if he likes me that much anymore”
“He does. He was most concerned. Silly boy thought he was no longer Keith now he had his ego”
Hadn’t Lance told him that he was? Suddenly pickles and chocolate turned to tears. Keith was Keith. He was in there. He just needed to relearn to be himself
“I’m sorry. I’m having a lot of emotions right now. Keith, I’m not trying to be mean. I don’t know what to do. Matt and Rieva came as a pair and I know they do things when they wolf out... I guess I’m an arsehole for not understanding what it’s like to be a wolf”
“Whooooooooooo”
Lance shook his head, covering his face as he started crying harder. He wanted his pickles and he wanted to cry, but he couldn’t have both at the same time
“Perhaps it’s best you head to bed. I can stay with Keith”
What? Why? He’d been trying to get Keith outside and now he didn’t want him to go, but he also didn’t want to cause a situation where Keith acted out, because it was the natural wolf thing to do, with a possibly dire consequence
“But he’s meant to be my boyfriend! I told him he was still himself!”
“Keith will be quite safe with me. I’ll take him for a walk”
If Keith wasn’t hurt, then he had to be having trouble working out how to adjust to four legs... How could keith not walk? Then again, he could barely fly as a bat. His ego secretly laughed at Keith, upsetting Lance further. He felt all flustered over crying, making him cry more. Keith was huge and he couldn’t walk... and he wanted to do the do, but Lance didn’t want to do the do with anyone but Keith, and only when they were stable in their relationship with both of them consenting. Why did Coran have to bring him here when Lance was emotionally ready to see Keith?
“He can’t even walk... Coran, he can’t walk... How is he going to protect himself? He can’t walk...”
“He can walk. He simply needs to get used to his body being in a different form. Now, my boy, you head off back upstairs. We’ll soon have Keith adjusted to his new ego and form”
Craning his head back, Keith looked at him, howling mournfully
“A whooooooooo”
“I’m not leaving the house. I have to get some sleep, I’ve been busy since I got home. I need to rest for the sake of the twins, and I need to take my pickles and chocolate with me”
“A... a whoo!”
“You’ll be okay. You should go run. Trust me when I say you’ll feel better. Rieva and Matt always do”
Keith didn’t seem convinced
“Go. Run. Let your ego flare a little. If you’re anxious think of it like training. It’ll be good for you. I’m not trying to make you leave or anything like that, but you can’t pretend you’re not a wolf with wolf urges. That’d be like me trying to live on human food alone. Then in morning you’ll take a shower, clog my drain with mud and grass, but you’ll feel better for it”
Keith huffed, he eyed the bowl on the floor with annoyance. Okay, it was pretty animal like but Keith was an animal right now
“You’re allowed to act like a wolf. Drinking out a bowl doesn’t make you any less. You’ll be okay. You just have to stop overthinking, which I know is hard for you, but you are who you are. Wolf and... all”
Yawning, Lance wanted his bed. Now he knew Keith was alright, he’d be able to sleep then talk to Keith about it in the morning. When had he calmed down from sobs? And how did manage to sound calming when Keith was having an internal crisis. God. He needed sleep. He definitely wasn’t thinking straight
“And with that, off to bed with you”
“Yeah. I’m going. I’ll see you guys in the morning. Night, babe. Be safe”

The Dating Game 2 - Jonathan Byers
It’s Thanksgiving time and Jonathan is starting to question his feelings.
The Dating Game 1 2 - Jonathan Byers x reader
November 20th 1984
“My dad’s family does this big shindig at our house every year. Tons of food, it’s really something.” Steve mentioned when you asked about his upcoming holiday plans. He was sprawled out on the la-z-boy in the basement, playing you in a competitive back and forth game of tetris.
“Sounds nice, my dad’ll probably just work that day. Maybe somebody at the office will give him a can of cranberries or something.” You shrug. After everything that had happened following Halloween, not including your odd relationship status with both Jonathan Byers and Steve Harrington, you were trying to bring some normality back into your life. Things seemed to be better between Steve and Nancy, not great, not dating again, but better than Tina’s Halloween party. She wasn’t screaming bullshit at him anymore. But she was hanging around Jonathan more and more these days and you were hanging around him less and less. Despite the arrangement you’d made with Jonathan things hadn’t gone to plan after Halloween. Things hadn’t even gone normally after Halloween and there was little time to be made for school projects when the safety of the world seemed to be at stake. But you and Steve stayed close.
“Come to ours.” Steve offered.
“I couldn’t.” You kept your eyes on the tv screen as your turn on tetris started.
“It’d be cool, Nancy is gonna stop by. The more the merrier. You can even sign the famous Harrington Family Thanksgiving Tablecloth and put some shit about what you’re thankful for.”
“Dear Harrington Family Tablecloth, I’m so thankful that Steve isn’t as much of a tool as everyone said.” You laughed as he threw a pillow at your head.
“Hey, I didn’t invite myself over your house to avoid responsibility so that you could be mean to me.” He said, dodging the pillow you chucked back at him. “Besides it’d look good ya know, my fake girlfriend should be at Thanksgiving with me.”
“With you and your ex-girlfriend who you’re desperately trying to get back together with?” You laughed, “How’d you convince Nancy to come anyway?”
“I asked. I’m a charmer man, the ladies love me.” He replied, “plus I told her it was just as a friend.”
“Alright, I’ll stop by. Now finish your round, I’ve got work in twenty minutes and Keith freaked out last time I was late.” You had gotten a job a few days before Halloween at the arcade and adjoining video store in Hawkins. It wasn’t your dream job and working with Keith was definitely not what you wanted but money was money and your dad was insistent that you get a job to pay for, what he considered, unnecessary goods.
Possibly the worst part of working at the arcade was the fact that it was a common hang out for Hawkins youth. While you only ever had to deal with people like Tommy and Carol when they came in to rent a movie, or last week when Tommy and some guys snuck into the private room of the video store to look at the porn, you still got stuck seeing all the middle school kids on the daily. Some of them, like Dustin or Jonathan’s little brother Will, were more bearable than others but they were still kids and fighting a pack of demadogs with them was a lot different than saying hi where everyone could see. Because while you didn’t have anything to prove to anyone you still felt a mild amount of embarrassment every time Carol and Tina saw you being friendly to Will Byers or his friends. It was bad enough that you worked with Keith.
After your heated game of tetris Steve dropped you at the arcade with five minutes to spare. He was going to have dinner with Nancy, a big step in their developing friendship/ex-relationship. His plans to whoo her back weren’t going as smoothly as he imagined and she wasn’t falling for the bait that you two were dating, no matter how much time Steve inevitably spent hanging around you. He might be able to convince Tommy and Tina and Carol and all his other friends with some BS story about meeting at Halloween after Nancy split on him but she clearly wasn’t as gullible. She was friends with Jonathan after all, she knew what being ‘just friends’ looked like.
Nancy was dressed and ready to go to dinner with Steve when Jonathan pulled up to her house to drop off Will. She waved, walking down the driveway to say hello. After everything that had happened to them this year and the year before Nancy had re-evaluated what was important to her and what wasn’t. These days gossip around the school or graffitied signs on the movie theater didn’t mean a thing to her. People whispered about her friendship with Jonathan and about her break-up with Steve but Nancy didn’t care about their bullshit.
“Mike said you’re taking them to the arcade?” Nancy asked, leaning down to rest her arm against Jonathan’s window so she could talk to him. Behind her Will ran inside, slamming the door after him.
“I promised Will.” Jonathan shrugged, “he’s really looking forward to it.” Jonathan and Joyce were trying their hardest to give Will a normal life amidst the turmoil of demagorgons and the upside-down. Sometimes Jonathan felt like his mother was a little too overbearing with his younger brother but he understood why she was and he did his best to watch over Will as much as she wanted him to. Like today, before all of this Will would’ve easily gone to the arcade with Mike and Dustin without needing an accompanying babysitter but Joyce insisted that Jonathan go, claiming that it would be nice for the brothers to bond, as if they didn’t already.
“That’s good.” Nancy nodded. She looked back at the house to make sure that the boys hadn’t come out yet and then back to Jonathan, “how’s he doing?”
“Alright?” Jonathan offered, hating the question. Even when it was Nancy Wheeler who asked it. He never felt like he knew what to say. Was Will really alright? Would he continue to be alright? Would all this continue to be normal now that Eleven closed the gate? It was hard to say and frankly he’d rather not dwell on it too much.
The conversation was interrupted by Will, Mike, and Dustin running to the car. “Well,” Nancy patted the window the same way her mother did when she was ending a conversation. “I’ll see you later.” And then she was walking to her mom’s car and getting in.
While Jonathan drove the boys to the arcade Nancy made her way to dinner with Steve. An upgrade from the diner, Steve had chosen a nicer restaurant in town. It was an Italian place near the theatre that played live music and had some pretty decent garlic bread. He was already waiting outside for her when she pulled into a parking space, his hair in perfect place and his clothes suggesting that maybe this was more than a casual dinner. But Nancy had dressed up a little too, though she tried to play it off.
“Nance,” Steve opened the door to the restaurant for her and pulled out her chair when they got to the table. “Uh, how’ve you been?”
“Good, since yesterday.” She laughed.
Across town Jonathan was walking into the arcade behind Dustin, Will, and Mike. Though he had agreed to take the three boys there to meet Max and Lucas he was already starting to regret it. The arcade was dimly lit and loud, a sensory overload for someone with such sensitively inclined vision. He stood off to the side, trying not to crowd his brother and friends, instead attempting to fade into a corner until it was time to leave. Which could be hours from now he realized.
“As I live and breathe, you creeping in the corner on purpose Byers?” You teased, bumping your hip against his as you stopped next to him.
Jonathan looked over, letting out an uncomfortable laugh and then shaking his head, “I brought Will and his friends.” Just as he pointed them out Will looked over and you shared a wave with the younger Byers.
“How’d they pry you away from Nancy?” You asked, curious that he wasn’t spending his time with her and wondering if he knew about the non-date/date Steve had arranged.
“I don’t...we don’t hang out all the time.” Jonathan replied.
“Well if you’re looking to kill some time you’re welcome to hang out with me. I’ll let you in on a classified secret,” you joked, leaning closer to him, “I’m tons of fun.”
You and Jonathan hadn’t spent much time together since Halloween. A couple of meet-ups at Benny’s to talk over plans for the writing assignment that you still hadn’t told him you wanted to base on his drama with Nancy. Otherwise you had only seen him when you were with Steve around school or the few classes when you sat together. You still liked Jonathan, that was undeniable, but with everything that happened pretending to date wasn’t nearly as important as saving Will’s life. And you understood that. You didn’t expect him to make time for you and stupid school junk when he was battling some tornado with legs. But things had died down and you couldn’t help taking this opportunity to spend some time with him.
Jonathan laughed, “do you have anywhere quieter than here?” He asked, throwing another glance his brother’s way.
“Follow me,” you beckoned, leading the way through the heavy red curtain that separated the arcade and the movie rental. “Keith usually hangs on that side and he should be back any second from lunch.”
“It’s dinner time.” Jonathan pointed out, grabbing a stool from behind the counter to sit on. You took the other and sat beside him where your school books were spread out.
“It’s second lunch time for Keith. He’ll take a break for dinner in like two more hours.” You laughed, “don’t question the logic just go with it.”
“Sorry I’ve been so MIA lately.” he mentioned after a pause of silence between the two of you. He was watching older women shopping for movies to rent so that he didn’t have to look toward you as he apologized. Nancy had been right when she told him that he had a crush on you. He did. And while Nancy didn’t fall for stupid high school tricks like you’re fake relationship with Steve Harrington but Jonathan was not above being fooled by the rumors. It wasn’t that he believed all the stupid shit that Carol and Tommy talked about but he had ears and he heard them mention your name in conjunction with Steve’s enough times that he thought maybe you really were dating. Things had worked out the way they planned at Halloween and things definitely weren’t going the way he wanted them too with Nancy but maybe you had managed to score Steve while he was still fumbling over his own nonexistent love life.
“Can’t really be mad about that can I? It’d just make me look like a massive dick.” You teased. “And in case you haven’t noticed I’m the opposite of that.”
“I’ve noticed.” Jonathan replied, laughing as he loosened up.
You couldn’t help the flutter in your chest at the sound of his laugh and the implication that he’d noticed you, even if he was just joking. A silence settled over the two of you as you watched a lady nearing the checkout with a movie in her hands only to turn at the last moment and keep looking. You leaned against the counter top, reading over your textbook as Jonathan reached over and took the homework handout to look over.
“Have you done that yet?” You asked, not looking up from your work.
“Ah, yeah I finished it during study period.” Jonathan put the paper down again. He looked over at you while you were distracted with your homework. It sounded funny to say but ever since you had interrupted him watching Nancy that day in English it was almost as if you had disrupted his entire focus. Before October, and even before last year Jonathan would’ve said that he had a crush on Nancy Wheeler. His brother’s best friend’s older sister was just the picture of what a high school dream girl was supposed to be and however shallow it was he had fallen into the trap of wanting her as much as any other guy. And realizing that she wasn’t just some girl-next-door pretty enough to be in a catalogue had only made him like her more. And yeah, maybe the fact that she was pretty and she could hold her own against a demagorgan were the only reasons he liked her but they were in high school, he shouldn’t have to need more reasons.
When he thought about it, really took the time to go over it in his head, that split second in time that should’ve been so insignificant threw him for more of a loop than he expected. One second he was sitting in class staring at Nancy Wheeler and wishing she would give half as much of her attention to him as she did to Steve when you called his name and started talking to him. He’d turned his head to look at you and suddenly it was like he could quite put his focus back on Nancy. At Halloween when he left you on the stoop at Tina’s house in your Stevie Nicks get up he couldn’t stop the resentment he felt toward Nancy beneath his general concern for her well-being. He found himself wanting to know if you had looked at him the same way he was looking at you or if he was imagining it.
“So you and Steve?” He asked because he couldn’t stop himself from wondering. Had he really pushed you into Steve Harrington’s arms or had you liked the Patrick Dempsey of Hawkins Highschool this whole time.
“What about me and Steve?” You asked, tilting your head to the side to gauge Jonathan’s expression. He was so hard to read and most of the time he just came off as shy and awkward.
He shrugged, trying to ‘play it cool’ if that was even a possible action for a Byers, “I’ve just...seen you around him a lot and I heard that you were dating.” If you were dating would he tell you that your boyfriend was out with Nancy right now or did you know?
You thought about telling him the truth. That you and Steve were playing everyone the way you and Jonathan had intended on playing Nancy. He would keep a secret, that much you were positive about. But why was he asking? Because he was genuinely curious about your relationship status with Steve or because he wanted to make sure that Nancy really was off the market. Or was it something else? The something else that made you get butterflies when he laughed at something you said or when he saw you across the hall at school and waved just to you in the midst of a chaotic surge of students. The something else that had you wishing his gaze lingered on you the way it lingered on Nancy. So you decided to lie, to see where this was going. “Yeah. I guess so.”
His brow furrowed and a frown set on his face and he opened his mouth to say something when Will came through the curtain divider and asked him to look at a high score. “Oh, alright.” He finally said as he stood up and followed his brother back to the arcade.
What did alright mean?
-
November 22nd, 1984 - Thanksgiving
Though you hadn’t intended to when you set out on Thanksgiving around 5pm you had dined-and-dashed at the Harringtons’ . And hardly dined to be honest. You’d arrived at Steve’s a little after leaving your own house, dressed a lot nicer than you usually did and carrying a store-bought pumpkin pie. The last one that you’d been so desperate to grab you’d stolen it from the cart of an older woman while she was looking over the bread selection in the grocery store. You didn’t want to show up empty handed after he was nice enough to invite you and the personal guilt you felt over having baked nothing for them but having a perfectly baked apple pie sitting in the back seat of your car waiting for you to go to the Byers forced you to buy something.
It was because of the Byers that you had dressed up too. Or, a specific Byers, Jonathan had invited you to his family’s Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday night at the arcade and you couldn’t say no. Not that you wanted to say no. The opportunity to spend any amount of time with Jonathan and the fact that he wanted to see you enough that he had brought up Thanksgiving in the first place and invited you. Sure, Steve had invited you, unprompted, to his house for dinner too but that was different. You were friends with Steve and you wouldn’t quite call whatever you and Jonathan had ‘friends’.
You didn’t want to read too much into the invitation from Jonathan but that didn’t stop you from the nervous anticipation as you checked your appearance in the mirror a dozen times before leaving your house. You’d brushed your teeth twice and changed your clothes more than that as you tried to imagine what would look best. What would tell Jonathan that you liked him and that you were better than Nancy. Or maybe not better but a viable second option. Did he know Nancy was going to Steve’s? Was she going to Jonathan’s too? Was he going to hers?
“I thought you were leaving?” Steve called, walking over to your car and breaking the reckless train of thought you were trapped on.
You’d said goodbye to everyone at least ten minutes ago and then walked out to your car, headed for Jonathan’s. But then your brain started to work again and all those thoughts about Nancy and you and Jonathan and the stupid fake dating scheme with Steve bubbled up and you worried that maybe this was all a terrible idea. Maybe you should just drive home.
Steve called your name.
“Sorry, just a little on edge today.” You apologized.
You managed to drive all the way to the Byers without incident though you had been tempted to turn down your street and go home the minute you were stopped at the corner. You worked through it though, forcing your foot on the gas pedal and going straight to the Byers. Then you sat in the car outside their house, parked beside Chief Hopper’s truck as you tried to pep talk yourself into going inside. You might’ve stayed there all night if it wasn’t for Will coming outside.
He knocked on the car window and you were so startled you hit the horn.
“Sorry, I’m so sorry,” you apologized as you got out of the car. Will looked concerned more than upset and the front door flew open to reveal both Jonathan and Joyce.
“Are you alright?” Jonathan asked, coming down off the porch.
“Fine, fine...hit the horn is all.” You continued to ramble as you got the tupperware from the backseat. “I made apple pie, is that okay? It’s about the only thing I can make.”
“Of course.” Joyce always looked so warm. Even now she looked so genuinely happy and warm that you found yourself wishing she was your mom. She took the tupperware from you and Will headed back inside after checking that you were okay and apologizing for startling you.
Jonathan stayed though, grabbing your upper arm when you started to follow the rest of his small family inside. “Hey, are you sure you’re okay?”
You weren’t sure if it was because Will had been through so much and he always expected the worst or if you genuinely looked that freaked out but Jonathan was looking at you like you might pass out at any moment. You smiled and nodded. What could you say, that you’d worked yourself into a panic over the meaning of his invitation and were so terrified to go inside that you had chosen to just sit there and creep on them? That sounded crazy. You were just...friends?
“I’m fine.” You promised.
Jonathan let go of you and led the way inside. Joyce hadn’t decorated quite as festively as the Harringtons but it was certainly cleaner than the last time you’d been inside her house. The first time you’d been there, with Steve and Billy. Chief Hopper was there, sitting on the couch drinking a beer as Joyce finished setting out dinner. The two of them were talking about different people in town. You could Will down the hall talking to El in his bedroom and the sound of music coming from somewhere else. You weren’t usually so obtrusive but you couldn’t help following the sound, not even realizing that Jonathan had followed you down the hall.
It was his room the noise was coming from. He’d been in his room before you arrived, trying to find the cleanest shirt he could from the various shirts left around the small space. It shouldn’t have mattered, you weren’t Nancy and he had a crush on Nancy. But somehow it did matter and he felt nervous about you coming for dinner. He’d cleaned the house that afternoon. Every spare plate, every out of place magazine or toy that Will had left lying around. He’d wiped down the table and vacuumed and swept the porch. It was a little unusual but Joyce didn’t argue and she didn’t ask either.
“I thought he was hanging around Mike’s sister.” Hopper commented as he came into the kitchen, keeping his voice low so no one would overhear him.
“I thought so too.” Joyce shrugged. She’d only met you once before, “I thought she was Steve Harrington’s girlfriend.”
“Who?”
“The kid with the hair.” She gestured to her head, swooping her hand back the way Steve always did.
While they debated Steve Harrington, you and Jonathan were in his room. He stood back near the door as you thumbed through his music collection, listening to the cassette that was playing right now. You picked up a small plastic case, a hand-drawn picture on the jacket and popped it open. A mix-tape. Tiny writing on the inside of the jacket listed all the songs on the cassette and just a date was where the title would be. You laid it down and picked up another, similar tape. Jonathan fidgeted with the hem of his shirt, not sure what to say as you looked over his music collection.
There wasn’t a lot that Jonathan shared with people. His music collection and his photographs were the most private things he owned. They belonged to him solely and he only ever opened up about them with people that he knew he could trust. His mom, Will, Nancy had seen a few pictures. But no one else. But here you were looking through his personal music collection in his room, as if you had just stepped inside his brain and decided to take a tour.
“This mix is really good.” You commented as the next song started to play.
“Thanks.” Jonathan took another step into the room.
“I’m terrible at making mixes. I mean...I try ya know but I just can’t get the songs in the right order.” You admitted, putting a cassette down and turning toward Jonathan.
“I uh,” Jonathan began to speak but quickly backtracked. He wanted to offer to make you one, it was right there on the tip of his tongue, waiting for him to say. But whatever social awkwardness plagued him he knew well enough that mixtapes were for girlfriends or boyfriends and not for random English partners that were just at Thanksgiving because he was so anxious he blurted out an invitation while he was waiting with you for his brother to be finished at the arcade. They weren’t for girls that he thought he didn’t like but that now caused his chest to tighten and his palms to get clammy when he was in the same room as her.
“Sorry,” you laughed, taking his silence for a different sort of discomfort than the kind you were currently suffering from. “I don’t know why I’m so nervous.”
The words ‘you are’ danced across his lips but he only shrugged and said, “we could listen to something else?” He walked all the way into his room, coming up beside you and shuffling through his collection until he came to a cassette that he was particularly fond of. “I made this one a couple weeks ago...took all day Saturday.” then it was his turn to laugh nervously, “sorry that sounds lame.”
“No way, I spent all Saturday playing tetris by myself in the basement. You’re preaching to the choir.”
Somehow the tension dissipated and the room was left with an oddly peaceful silence as you sat on Jonathan’s bed with him, listening to the mixtape he’d put in. He was moving so minutely you weren’t sure you were even seeing it correctly. But you could swear that out of your peripheral vision you could see Jonathan just slightly bop his head to the song that was on. And you thought maybe if you turned your head you could even catch the barest movement from his lips as he mouthed the words.
You kept your focus mainly trained on the comforter beneath your hands, only looking at him every once in a while, when you thought you could chance it. Jonathan’s fringe was a godsend in that moment and he used it to block your view of his eyes so he could watch you. Watch the tiny smile that came to your face when a certain lyric was sung. The way you looked so happy when you recognized a song and the way you would mouth the title as the opening chords came, trying to guess what the next song on the mixtape was. He let his mind wander to what it might be like if you were more than just friends. If he hadn’t found himself pining after Steve Harrington’s girl all over again. He wondered if you would be sitting together like this. Or would he be laying in bed with you, your head on his chest as you listened to a mixtape he made just for you. He let himself smile, thinking about the way you might kiss his cheek when a song you were really fond of started playing. Or maybe you’d listen in his car, driving in the rain and headbanging along to whatever music was playing. Maybe he’d pull over when the thunder got really bad and you’d make out in the back seat.
Another glance over at Jonathan and you saw him blushing just the slightest. The faint red disappeared into the collar of his t-shirt. He looked over at you and while you had looked away every other time you found yourself staring right back. You smiled and he smiled back, as simple as that. And then you swore he leaned toward you, just like a movie.
“Dinner!” Joyce’s voice pierced through the house and Jonathan nearly fell over his feet as he stood up. He gulped and ran a hand through his hair and started toward the door before realizing you were still sitting on his bed, laughing quietly at him.
“Come on...my mom makes great stuffing.” He nodded toward the hallway for confirmation.

Deryn’s Full Fic Rec Masterpost
The fanfic writer appreciation day post here reminded me that I’ve been wanting to do a big fic rec post...so we’re gonna do it. It isn’t all the fics I can recommend, but there’s gonna be at least a handful and you can read these author’s works further if you so wish (and hopefully you will wish!)
*word count only included so that people who want a shorter read can get a shorter read, or people looking for long fics can read long fics~
Complete:
By the Guidance of the Stars by @greyias : SWTOR, 47,544, F!JK/Theron: Look, Grey is adorable and precious and we don’t deserve such an adorable bean. Exploring the aftermath of Yavin IV, this fic takes a look at what happens between the final battle and the goodbye our characters face and does so with just the right amount of jaunty moments and heartfelt interactions that pull at your heartstrings. 10/10 would recommend.
Courtship and Lies by @riajade01 : SWTOR, 117,287, F!SW/Quinn: Regency AU! R e g e n c y AU! That should be enough to make you read it but if it isn’t then it is wonderfully written, more Mara and Quinn interactions and plenty of spice to keep things ah, spicy if you will. A really interesting twist of the Sith Warrior story and characters into a blend of SW and history that makes nerds like me very happy lmao.
Where the Light Doesn't Reach by rosegardenlake on AO3: Voltron: Legendary Defender, 229,972, Shiro/Keith: Read the tags on this! But wow, okay, it’s the high school murder mystery AU I never knew I needed. I consumed this fic, was glued to it with how well it was written, how twisted the story was and how nothing you thought you knew seemed to be right! Would recommend if you like a good murder mystery and some really good angst.
In Progress:
Rising Son by @lumielles : SWTOR, 19,329,/ This fic follows the life of Idan Lumielle--eventually a Jedi Consular--with a stunning attention to detail and plotpoints that make you promptly make and/or join the Idan Defense Squad to protect him at all costs.
Reduced To Ash by @riajade01 : SWTOR, 260,314, SW/Quinn/ Follows the Sith Warrior storyline; constantly melding both personal character points and takes and the canon storyline seamlessly. Just the right blend of spice, angst, and action to keep you reading until oh-god-it’s-3am o’clock
Absence Makes the Heart Grow Weak by dramasweety on AO3: DA,106,460, Dorian/M!Lavellan: Read the tags carefully on this one. A beautiful AU fic exploring the angst of an Inquisitor losing their memory and what it takes to rebuild a relationship that one side doesn’t even remember. Hurts like hell in an amazing way and has some truly tender moments in all the hurt.
Chaos and Opportunity by @inquisitorhotpants : SWTOR, 259,446, F!SI/Marr: Kryn is a snarky gift upon the universe. Unhappy with canon? Good, canon is merely a suggestion here and it is AMAZING. Glorious amounts of worldbuilding make you scream for what SWTOR’s Empire could’ve had and when we get into the politics--and you guys know I love my political intrigue stories--everything is intricately tied together in a way that keeps you riveted.
Scenes From the Boundless by @spectrum270 : SWTOR, 39,593, M!Smuggler/Risha: Want some jaunty, wholesome character interactions within the smuggler story? Longing for the crew of the smuggler to seem more like the family you’re dying for them to be? Then this is the fic for you! Wonderfully written with references from this world tied wonderfully into the SW-verse it’s a fun read and worth the time!
Equivalent Exchange by @inyri : SWTOR, 189,622, F!IA/Theron: Follows the end of SOR and onward, beautifully written and you can’t help but get attached to--and a little afraid of--Nine. Weaves in some personal flair within the story itself and really builds on character relationships where the game sometimes lacks. And there’s some top tier spice, if that’s a benefit for anyone ;)
Kintsukuroi by @storyknitter: SWTOR, 38,099, F!JK/Theron: A collection of scenes from Fractured Alliances that have one point either made me squee or sob or both depending on which one! Knitter really does angst beautifully and the moments between Sanna and Theron are always so, so emotionally filled that they either hit you like a freight train with feels or melt you onto the floor...with feels.
a star in another sky by neonheartbeat on AO3: Marvel, 148,348, Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter: Look, I’m not usually that into Marvel or fics but I was on a Peggy and Steve kick after rewatching Captain America: The First Avenger and found this gem. It takes what happens at the end of Endgame and makes it make sense. Want some angst? Bam! Want some wholesome family interactions! Whoo! Are you a history nerd like me and want some research in your fic dammit? Here you go! Worth the read even if you know nothing about Marvel.
And I’m Your Lion Heart by Lee_Whimsy on AO3: The Hobbit (Movies), 71,701, Bilbo/Thorin: Did the end of the Hobbit make you cry and wish you’d never read/seen it? Good, you can forget it happened here. A beautiful fix it fic where things end up happier, beautifully building on the relationship between Thorin and Bilbo and what the reclamation of Erebor means for them.
Eternal War by @anchanted-one : SWTOR, 40,097, M!JK/Lana: I have not officially finished this fic yet, however, it’s the KOTFE retelling you definitely need. Arro is an intensely interesting character and from what I have read and seen of this fic it is shaping up to keep you riveted and draw you into walking the path alongside him throughout KOTFE.
The Hands of Fate Are Your Own by @elveny and @kunstpause: DA, 31,196, F!Hawke/Cullen F!Hawke/Isabela F!Hawke/Fenris: I haven’t had the pleasure of reading this fic yet but from what I have read from the teasers posted and the snippets given it is shaping up to be absolutely divine. Writers who can collaborate on a big fic have the dedication beyond measure and I’d truly suggest giving it a read!
Heat by @elveny: DA, 13,386, F!Lavellan/Solas: Another fic I haven’t been able to sit down and read yet but would highly recommend from the teasers and snippets posted! It’s on my to-read list!
-
This isn’t my full fic recommendation list, mostly missing a lot of tumblr exclusive prompts, however you can check out my “fic rec” tags and my “other people’s writing” to find some more fics! Hopefully this was helpful to any readers looking for some new material and go show these authors some love!

Thank you so much for doing my prompt, I loved it!(^ω^) I'd like to suggest another one if that's okay, but you don't have to do this one if you don't want to :") Maybe a Klance one where Lance wants to tell Keith about his love for tickling, but doesn't know how to go about it? (Since he's afraid Keith would break up with him or think he's a weirdo.)??
“Secret”
Fandom: Voltron Legendary Defender
Characters: Keith Kogane, Lance McClain
A/N: Of course it’s okay! I’m literally asking people for prompts, don’t be shy XD. This too was an adorable concept and I hope my execution of it was was as soft as your idea!
Description: After yet another tickle fight, Keith is left breathless and sore. He’s noticed Lance has been tickling him a lot lately and is curious to know why. Lance, however, isn’t too confident in sharing such information. But Keith’s reaction in the end reassures him it’s fine.
_
A soft squeal bounced about the cabin walls aboard the Atlas as the black paladin tried to escape the unexpected cuddle. He tried to hide into his fluffy son as to avoid such tormenting hands, but it was no use. Keith threw his head back softly as he tried to curl more into Kosmo, the soul being who was preventing the tormentor to gain access to the bed.
Unfortunately, that gave Lance more places to roam, rather than being confined to Keith’s upper body, which the red paladin was eagerly taking advantage of. “Lhahahance, sthahahop thahaht,” the older cried softly. His son was becoming a bit curious. He rested his head atop the side of his dad’s face, watching.
“Come on kitten, let’s go out and have fun, huh?” Lance really wanted to spend time at this fair with Keith, rather than winning toys for someone who would stay in the Atlas. “I dhhahahaon’t whahant thahaho!” Hiccupy giggles became even more feather touched as Lance worked skilled fingers around. The less ticklish areas would give off the most pure sound if touched correctly.
It was like a siren's song to the Cuban male’s ears! He could just never get enough of Keith’s laughter, or seeing that adorable, true smile. Sure, he loved to hear Hunk, Shiro, and his niece and nephew’s laughs too, but there was just something about Keith’s that was so….. Silky?
He didn’t know, it just made his day ten times better and gave him such soft butterflies! “Khahahosmo!” The wolf was half assedly crawling over his dad to sniff at the other human in the room. He smelt food, didn’t he? Well, Lance had been outside already, looking for Keith. THat’s when an idea hit him. “Kosmo, you wanna go find Adam? Huh? You want Adam?!” Oh did that tail start wagging. Grandpa!
Between Iverson and Adam, they were and even tie of favorites under Keith. The tail brushed along partially covered legs, earning a soft smile as Keith shook his head. “No, Lance stop.” The male hugged his baby as to get more protection or cuddles, but the wolf slipped away before teleporting out of the room.
No dad, no one to tell him he couldn’t eat x, y, and z! Food-topia time baby, whoo hoo! The leader pouted as he watched the blue light fade away. He was comfy with his big lap puppy! It took the older a minute to notice the smirk radiating from beside him. Oh boy. Glancing up, Keith blushed softly at the threatening face.
Lance looked a bit charming in all the crepiness of the evil “persona” before two clawed hands really sent the boy nto a panic. He let out a shriek before rolling away to hide in his small bed; Something Lance wasn’t letting happen. He followed after the shorter quickly, finally getting to properly cuddle. “Where are you going kitty, huh? You trying to get away from me?” The red paladin was blessed as anticipating squeals let out. Keith shook his head. “Yehehhes! I dhahaon’t whahahant to ghahaho! Don’t, don’t!” Tactics changed as Keith decided to lay on his back, giggling breathlessly. His blush was still soft, ieyes watering.
“No,” he stated softly as he pushed the hand away. As soon as he moved it away, it swopped back around and came back into view. Lance snorted. “No?” The older nodded. “No.” Oh, but hads said otherwise. “But, why not yes?” Keith started to giggle a bit harder. “Whahahy ahahre yhahahou tickling meheh so mhahauch lately?” The playfulness was slowly ending as Keith’s sides and stomach started to outweigh the pain from his smile.
Lance frowned a bit as the question came up. Had he been doing it more than normal? He didn’t think so. “No, I’ve been tickling you the same amount since we started dating back a little before Kuron came in.” The other blinked before shaking his head. “No, we hardly saw each other.” Lance pouted as he thought. “No, no, before you ran off with your knfe dad I use to tickle the snot out of you like… daily.”
“Weekly,” Keith corrected. “Even on our way home you never did this, not this much.” The older rubbed his sides as he tried to relieve the slight tenderness. “Are you alright?” Lance blinked a bit. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” Keith shrugged. “You look like something’s bothering you.” Seeing as Lance made his emotions very obvious.
The taller shook his head. “No. Did I hurt you?” Keith didn’t answer, he just hummed before going to tickle behind his boyfriend’s ear. Blue eyes widened before squeezing shut as the Cuban mae became a snickering turtle. “H-Hehehey!” He turned his head away, giggling more as he noticed Keith fall over to follow him. But, Lance had the advantage of the floor, whereas Keith was tangled in bed by his blankets.
“Lance.” Keith slowly stopped messing around. He wanted answers. The other shrugged with a sigh. “I don’t know man, I guess your laugh is just too addicting.” If Keith was well, less dense, perhaps he would have thought Lance wanted to calm down with the childish game to distract himself from stresses and other issues that were occurring lately.
However, Keith is dense, and just wasn’t understanding. “Your lying, your tone is becoming more serious.” Attention to detail much? The other hummed, looking away shyly. He didn’t want to say it, he couldn’t! What if Keith got weirded out? Shiro did say it was something he and Adam used as a playful form of bonding for the other; Just to help bring him out of his shell and remind him he was loved!
But would Lance admitting his fixation with the game be too much? Would it end their relationship? Would Keith think the other was trying to sexually advance over him?! Blue eyes watered. No, no, it wouldn’t be like that, right? Keith knew Lance respected that he was ace, even if he didn’t fully understand what it meant.
He did know, didn’t he? It wasn’t a kink, it was just fun and addicting! “What’s wrong, why are you crying?” The softness and sincerity in the older’s voice caused the other to shake his head before standing and brushing off his uniform. “Ah, I’m not crying. Just… little…. Mmm.” Space dust? Keith would want to talk about this no matter what.
One look into that concerned face and the other felt himself crumble. “I’m… strange, alright? Just don’t want to lose you over something like this.” A little more context would be nice. Rather than walking away, like normal, and trying to avoid Keith, Lance walked to the opening hand and let it take his softly.
That was a first. Sitting down, Lance then started to untangle Keith from the gray sheet and… crocheted blankets? Where did he…? “You seem willing to talk about it.” Of course that’s what he’d say. The taller shrugged. “Well,” his eyes watered up as his tongue tried to stop him. But, soft, loving rubs form the side of the calloused thumb on the top of the tanned, soft hand slowly eased the male.
“Lance, come on. It’s clearly bothering you.” Concerned was still present on the older’s face as he moved closer. Okay Lance, like mama says, like a bandaid. “I really like tickling.” It was so fast and quiet that it took Keith a moment to process what had been said. That damn word caused Lance to cringe after the fact.
He didn’t bother to explain or anything else, not yet. He just wasn’t there yet. “Okay…. And? I… guess I do too?” Yeah, it was mice when Adam or Shiro tickled him, even when his mom did. So why wouldn't it be when his boyfriend did too? “Huh? No like… I really like tickling. I…. It makes me really happy and I like to tickle… others a lot too.” Keith tilted his head. “I’m not… getting it?” Bingo. Lance started to calm down more. “I guess you kind of are? It’s not like a kink or anything to do with sex or dominance in a seperate veiw. It’s just…. I guess a fun thing I like to do and feel. “
Keith nodded. “Yeah, like I said…. It’s fine. I like it too. Maybe not as much, but I do enjoy it. It means safety and…. Bonding.” He gave a bit of an irritated face with the last part. “We’ve had plenty of cuddles since then Mr.! Shush!” The older rolled his eyes before letting go of Lance’s hand and laying back down, offering him room this time as apparently Kosmo had ditched him for Adam, or maybe Iverson. Lance smiled before removing his jacket and pants so he could cuddle comfortably. Keith nuzzled into his chest, listening to the anxious heart beat.
He smiled softly as he thought of an idea. Lance, however, was trying to change the topic. “So, where did these blankets- gah! Oh no, Keith!” Lance was so flustered, of course his freaking boyfriend had to do this now! Fingers moved up and down his sides in a soft pattern as the younger started to relax. “Adam’s mom and Shiro’s grandma.” Lance wasn’t really paying attention to the answer as he just started to ease his mind of his anxieties.
Keith was okay with it! Hell, he was tickling him now! “So, should I do this more often,” the smaller chuckled with a playful and arguably flirty smile. “Iahahf yhahaou whahant.” It felt nice when Keith tickled him. He was always light though, afraid to hurt the other. It wasn’t like Shiro where both brother’s would mercilessly dig into each other until one begged for mercy; Or in a newer time: Adam.
Maybe that’s why Hunk liked being tickled by Keith too, he knew boundaries. Which was why he just didn’t tickle Pidge or Allura at all…. He helped Lance ice those bruises. “Whhahahaoa kay! Keahahaith!” He spoke to soon. The other jumped as fingers wigged under his arms. Keith, however, smiled in absolute delight. How cute!
“You said you like tickling,” he teased softly before stopping to give Lance a small eskimo kiss. His eyes were open, a small blush dusting his face as he smiled. Despite the pants, Lacne felt his lips curl upwards happily. With eyes starting to close, he too blushed, butterflies trying to escape him. Rolling them over to their side, he ran a hand through Keith’s hair before moving in to cuddle him. “So… about the festival outside?”

Here is what I know about Klance in Season 6
PLEASE READ!!! SPOILERS ARE IN HERE, SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
SO basically there was a lot going on within this season. lots of plot twists and many references. So for the Lotura fans.... your wish came true but then didn't.
but as the people who have seen the show, Shiro is in fact, a clone. Not only is he a clone, but he also died. If you noticed how emotionally invested Keith was with Shiro, you noticed he was like a big brother or a dad in his flashbacks. Like Shiro was there to get him out of trouble and guide him when he needed it. And Keith even screamed, “ Shiro! You're my brother! I love you!”
so Keith loves Shiro in a brotherly way. Not in a romantic way.... sorry Sheith fans... ...but for the Sheith fans... the fan fiction ( from what I heard ) is really good and probably has good plots that Lauren can keep in her basement.
Now for Lance. He basically got his heart broken by Allura. He confessed to the mice and they told Allura. Allura had feeling for Lotor and even ends up kissing him, proving she didn't have a connection to lance. But when she needed a shoulder to cry on, Lance forgot to whoo and charm her and became a friend and a pal she could go to. no more intense blushing by him and no more awkwardness from her.
But I can say that Lance was right hand man to Keith as soon as he came back. He cracked jokes and tried to get on his good side. They didn't have an amazing connection, but the next season is Earth. And if Lauren is keeping tabs on the basement theories, maybe we will see some family action between lance
. And also.... the cast said the romance in the season is a SLOW BURN. not fast like lotor and ALlura. Not brotherly like Shiro and Keith. Hunk and Shay already have a thing. Pidge is 15 and literally can't date anyone, let alone she doesn't seem interested, soooo.... that brings us to KLANCE. or Laith as Lauren prefers... which means lion... so maybe this was planned all along? and now we just watch and enjoy the slow burn.

Mysterious Voice Modern AU
Chapter 4: Wedding Night
After the whole car accident, Keith, Lance and Hunk are all now fully recovered. Things have gone smoothly when Keith and Allura have officially started dating.
In Keith's house, Allura was helping Krolia making lunch as Keith was watching tv. Adam was still looking for a perfect place for a wedding. "Ugh! I give up!" Adam groaned. Allura frowned and said, "Don't give up. Just a simple place would do. Like a beach wedding." Allura suggested as Krolia smiled and hummed in agreement.
Keith then came down from his room. Normally he would sleep in but he is needed to help with the wedding. Allura giggled as she saw his bedhead. Keith was half-asleep. She then kissed him on the cheek. "Good afternoon." Allura blushed as Keith blushed. "H-Hi, Allura." Keith kissed in her cheek.
Keith was eating lunch as he watched tv. Adam was with Krolia to book to place for a wedding, he decided to have a beach wedding.
And so, Keith and Allura were alone inside the house. The two were sitting on the couch awkwardly. "Allura, um. So you excited about the wedding?" Keith asked, breaking the silence. "Yes, i am. My father have ordered the flowers and he is almost done with organizing the tables. Um, we are going to be sitting in the same table." Allura said to Keith.
"Oh, t-that's great." Keith stuttered nervously as Allura giggled. "I already picked out my flower girl dress while you were gone in your camping trip." Allura looked over at her boyfriend as he leaned on the arm of the couch. "Oh, can i see it?" Keith asked slyly. "No. I promised Shiro, Adam and your mother that i would keep it a secret." Allura replied, blushing as Keith started to go over to her and lay on top as he began to kiss her neck.
Allura groaned in pleasure she began to kiss his neck and then his jaw to his lips. Keith kissed her as he rubbed her thighs. They began to make out on the couch, not realising that they were alone. Shiro came inside the lounge and accidentally saw them making out.
"Hey Kei- Whoa! Sorry, Sorry! Um, please carry on!" Shirk closed his eyes and returned back to his room. Keith and Allura moved away from each other. "I am so, so sorry." Allura apologised as she blushed bright red same with Keith. "No. I'm sorry. I didn't know that Shiro was still here." Keith said while blushing but they still held hands.
In the mall, Lance was with his niece and nephew. He was recovering well since the accident. Then he saw a familiar girl he saw from camp. "Hey, Katie!" Lance greeted. Katie saw him and hugged him tightly. "Lance! So glad to see you all better! I saw the news." Katie exclaimed.
"But i am all better now. I'm just with my niece and nephew shopping." Lance smiled at her. "That's great. I am with my brother getting video games." Katie said.
"Wait, you like video games?" Lance asked. Katie nodded. "Me too! Maybe we can play video games some time. Oh, i forgot i am going to a friend's wedding!" Lance groaned. "That's ok! I gave you my number that is, you still have it." Katie said.
"No. I lost it in the crash. But i got my phone. Well, new phone." Lance smiled sheepishly. Katie smiled and took his phone and added her number on his.
"There you have it now. I have to go. So take it easy." Katie said as she ran off. Lance waved goodbye as his niece and nephew pounced on him teasing him that he had found a girlfriend.
In Keith's house, Keith was laying down on the couch watching tv while eating sandwiches that Allura made for him. Allura was looking through the papers from the festival. She has been looking back and forth from paper to Keith.
She still hasn't asked him out to the dance. "Uh, Keith?" Keith looked at her, "Yeah, you ok?" Keith asked his girlfriend. "I'm alright. It's just that my school is having this dance and i was wondering if you, you want to come? I want to ask you to go with me to the dance with me! I don't care if my classmates say something about us. I just want to prove them wrong." Allura said to him as she placed her hand on his.
Keith can tell she is serious about this. "When is the Dance?" Keith asked. "Two weeks after the wedding." Allura replied. Keith took Allura into his lap, saying. "Alright, I'll go with you to the dance." Allura smiled brightly as they kissed again. This time they were interrupted by Lance.
"Hey guys! Guess wha- WHOA HOLY CROW!" Lance exclaimed in surprised as he saw Keith and Allura making out. Keith and Allura were already irritated that they kept on being interrupted. "What is it Lance?!" Keith growled at his friend. "Calm down. I saw Katie again in the mall." Lance beamed with excitement.
"Katie? As in Pidge?" Allura asked. The two boys turned to her. "Wait, Allura?! You know her and two, you can talk?!" Lance asked her.
"Yes i know her, Katie is my classmate in my school, one of the hearing people in my class. We are friends. And two. Yes i can talk." Allura politely answered his questions while still sitting on Keith's lap.
"Whoo. Yes. I met her in camp. Hunk and Keith can't stop teasing me about it." Lance pouted as Keith chuckled and Allura gently his his head. "I got it all in camera but it was destroyed in the accident." Keith said as he wrapped his arms around her.
Lance was already envy of their relationship. They were best of friends then became an official couple. He wanted that but he slowly making progress with the girl he has a crush on which is Katie.
"You hungry? I made sandwiches of you want." Allura offered. Lance nodded. As she left Keith's grasp Lance then put him in a headlock. "So, you guys are sure handling things well. When are you taking on a real date?" Lance asked, teasing his friend.
"We are doing ok. I am taking to her schools dance after the wedding." Keith replied as he turned off the tv.
"Cool. Um Hunk called and he is on a date with Shay. He wanted to ask what type of cake would Shiro and Adam like." Lance said. "Chocolate cake." Keith replied quickly.
Allura came back with the sandwiches and drinks. "Thanks." Lance thanked her as she returned to her work.
All afternoon, Keith and Lance were playing video games as Allura worked away on her papers for school. Allura then groaned as she heard Lance and Keith arguing over a video game. She wished that they stop arguing.
As the boys argued Keith's mom and Lance's mom came in the lounge room, scolding them as they scolded their sons and tell them to clean up their mess in the lounge.
Krolia saw Allura in the kitchen handling things for her school. "Oh Allura. Nice to see you again!" Lance's mom greeted. Allura smiled, "Nice to see you again, Mrs. McClain."
The boys finished cleaning up their rooms and Krolia left with Lance's mom to see Shiro and Adam at the beach where they decided to get married.
Lance left to look after his niece and nephew. Leaving Allura and Keith inside the house. Allura's father is on a business trip and visiting his old friend.
"If you two didn't argue, you two would not be in trouble." Allura said to Keith as she played with his hair. Keith groaned, "He was being childish."
Allura giggled. "So since we are alone, we can continue where we left off." Allura seductively whispered his ear. This made Keith even more eager to kiss her. "Oh, i am being punished from earlier?" Keith asked in her ear as he began to kiss her hand and his other hand roamed around her body. Allura's hands roamed around Keith's chest as she kissed him gentle yet firmly as Keith groped her ass.
She yelped as Keith laughed and kissed her neck. The two made out as they made their way to Keith's room so they can have their alone time.
In the next morning, in Keith's room, their clothes were on the floor as Keith and Allura laid in each other's arms. Keith was already awake, remembering how they first met. He gentle stroke her hair as he saw a scar on her ear. That was where her hearing was forced out of her ear and was broken.
He remembered how he stood up to the bullies that were bullying her. Keith kissed her ear as Allura woke up to seeing her handsome boyfriend. "Morning handsome."
Keith chuckled, "Morning Butterfly." He kissed her on the lips as they began to put on their clothes to make breakfast. Keith let Allura take a shower first.
He went down the stairs and saw Shiro and his mom smirking at him. Keith was now blushing. "So, did you enjoy your night?" Krolia teased her son as he groaned. "Yeah, when arrived here. I checked Allura's guest room and she wasn't in their until i saw you clothes trailed all the way to your room." Shiro smirked. "So how was it?"
Keith sat down and groaned loudly as he was being teased by his family. "Guys, swear you don't tell anybody. I love Allura. You know that." Keith said turning away.
Behind the kitchen door, Allura was blushing, hearing their conversation. They need to be more careful in the future.
Allura arrived in the kitchen and sat next Keith. The both of them were embarrassed to face each other.
Today was the day of the wedding, Allura was with Krolia making sure they are prepared for the wedding, Allura was wearing a red scarpless dress. Her hair was in a bun. Krolia was making her hair was she put purple flowers on her hair. "Oh, Keith is so going to be surprised when he sees you." Krolia said as she looked at Allura, all dressed up.
In Shiro's room. He was dressed up in his tux and he was downright nervous and Keith, Lance and Hubk were there to support him. They all went down to the beach in a small church near the beach.
The boys were already in places as Katie arrived. The wedding was starting as Katie first came walking down the aisle amd saw Lance and started to blush as she saw Lance.
"Katie?!" Lance exclaimed and started to blush, much to Keith's and Hunk's amusement. Their friend started to speak nervously in Spanish. Much to Keith and Hunk's amusement. Katie was beautiful in a dress.
Them next was Allura, Keith was staring at her with loving longing eyes. Allura was in her red dress holding out flowers like Katie. Her hair was was in a bun and has purple flowers on her hair and bun. She walked next to Katie as Shay came to. Hunk was having heart eyes as Keith and Lance smiled at each other.
Then Adam came out, walking down the aisle to Shiro as Shiro had tears in his eyes. Everything was perfect.
The wedding ended up doing well as everyone went to the reception on the beach as the kids played in the water and everyone were eating and celebrating as Shiro and Adam started to slow dance.
Lance was dancing with Katie and show off their dancing skills as everyone watched on. Allura was cheering for her friends then Katie squealed when her favourite song came up and Allura squealed also leaving Keith. He was confused until he saw her and Katie strip down the lower.part of the dresses and started to dance to the music.
They rehearsed the dance for Shiro and Adam. Allura and Katie was dancing to their favourite song. Allura came to Keith with a shawl and wrapped it around him. Making him blushing as Allura kissed him. Alfor was at the wedding and he cheered as Krolia was cheering the loudest.
As Allura broke the kiss, she came back to the dance floor and Katie went to do the same thing with Lance as he stiffened and Katie grabbed Lance by the neck collar and kissed him on the lips.
Lance's family, Keith and Hunk cheered as Allura cheered. Hunk got that on camera. As they broke their kiss, Katie and Allura finished their dance.
Everyone applauded as Shiro and Adam proposed a game for all of the adults as for teenagers finished their games.
Keith still had the shawl that Allura used in him for her dance. "I can't believe you did that and it was worth it." Keith kissed his girlfriend. "Good. I planned this for weeks with Katie. Speaking of Katie, have you seen her?" Allura asked as she sat on his lap.
Keith looked around and looked for Lance. "Hmm. Nope but Lance is not around." Keith said. "You don't think they went off and have their moments to each other?" Allura asked. "Hmm, maybe." Keith hummed as he rubbed her back as they watched Shiro and Adam laughing and dancing. Hunk and Shay were dancing along with the others.
Keith and Allura came to the dance floor and danced to the song. Keith heard of this song. If was her favourite song from her favourite movie it's called "Can I Have This Dance".
Allura loved this song as Keith began to twirl her and Allura giggled as Keith carried her bridal style and her twirled her around as Allura started to sing the lyrics. Much to his surprise, her voice was so soothing and soft. Everyone turned their attention to them as they all listened.
"Take my Hand, take a breath,
Pull me close and take one step
Keep your eyes locked on mine."
Keith smiled at her as Allura sang and held Keith's left hand and put his other hand on her back. Keith began to sing along surprising her as he danced and they twirled. The two sang together.
"Won't you promise me?
(Now won't you promise me, that you won't forget)
We'll keep dancing (to keep dancing)
Whenever we go next."
Keith then lifted her up as they danced.
"It's like catching lightning
The chances of finding someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do
And everything step together
We just keep on getting better
So can i have this dance?"
As Keith twirled her around as her dress moved like a waves of falling petals as Keith started to sing solo.
"Take my hand, I'll take the lead
And every turn, we'll be safe with me
Don't be afraid, afraid to fall
You'll, I'll catch you through it all"
Keith dipped her and Allura placed her hand on his cheek as he sang the words, making her heart soar. Then the two sing rest of the song together.
"And you can't keep us apart
(Even a thousand miles can't keep apart)
'Cause my heart is ('cause my heart is) wherever you are"
The two danced in a circle around a small well and the other couples followed their lead.
"It's like catching lightning
The chances of finding someone like you
It's one in a million, the chances of feeling the way we do
And with every step together
We just keep getting better
So can i have this dance? (Can i have this dance?)
Can have this dance?"
As the song ended, they kissed as everyone applauded as they broke apart. The wedding was perfect for Shiro and Adam as they went on to their honeymoon.

CV: Heck yeah you can suggest shatt! This ask was so much fun to write for, though apparently I don’t know how to write pranking?? lol but it was a learning experience. Thank you for your awesome request and I hope you enjoy!!
“Takashi Shirogane?”
“Yes, Matthew Holt?”
“Would you do the honor of putting this pathetic student out of his miserable existence?”
“Hmm…” Shiro hummed, studying a paper with interest. “No, I'm afraid I'm all booked in terms of scheduling.”
Matt huffed. “Shiro, I know all you're doing for the rest of the day is grading.”
“Yep,” Shiro answered simply and Matt groaned, flopping across the table dramatically, spreading his arms over to ruffle Shiro's many papers. As a TA, he was always surrounded by them.
“So you would rather look over these little goblins’ papers then put your poor, poor friend out of his misery?”
“Mmmhmm,” Shiro confirmed. He was trying to play it cool, but Matt could see the smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. It was time to lay it on extra thick.
“Shiiiiroooo,” he whined in the most pathetically annoying way possible. Shiro looked up from the paper, red pen still poised for critiquing. “Please, I'm dying over here.”
Shiro chuckled, putting down his pen. “If you're dying already, why have me do it?”
“It's called mercy,” Matt sat up. He started to collect his own textbook and papers, shoving them into his bag. “And it's time to go award some flight students theirs.”
“Matt, no. Leave the poor sufferers alone,” Shiro pleaded, but Matt was already standing and swinging his bag across his shoulders.
“No can do, Kashi,” Matt said, catching the flush across Shiro's face at the nickname. Matt loved that color on Shiro's face. Matt loved Shiro's face. “One sufferer to another, this is for the best. I'm dropping my stuff at my dorm. Meet me in hall F if you're joining.”
“I have too much work,” Shiro continued to plead, but Matt could already sense his defenses crumbling. “It's midterm season.”
Matt was already walking away. Over his shoulder he called, “F Hall!” before darting out of the study room and to the dormitories.
-/-
Matt took his time knowing that Shiro would at least finish with the paper he was on before following, so, by the time he got to F Hall, Shiro was already there, waiting.
When Shiro saw him coming down the hall, he immediately crossed his arms. “Are we meeting here because of the sound system, or is that just a coincidence?” he asked, looking amused. Matt walked up to him and shrugged his shoulders, smirking.
“Oh, that's weird. Must be coincidence.”
“What are you up to?” Shiro asked, squinting at him like he could uncover all his secrets as simply as reading them across his face.
“Follow me,” Matt suggested, and walked past. When they stopped in front of the locked door to the room where they kept the old sound system, Matt held out his hand to Shiro. “Key.”
“You think I have a key to this place?” Shiro asked. “I'm a TA.”
Matt didn't retract his hand. Shiro sighed.
When Matt had unlocked the door with Shiro's key, he handed it back and walked in, heading straight for the tall contraption. Shiro followed, taking in the room much more leisurely.
“Shiro, help me pick out a song,” Matt called, and Shiro walked over. Sitting next to the sound system on the floor, the scrolled through Matt's phone.
“No, not that one,” Matt rejected, then clicked on another song. Shiro wrinkled his nose.
“No,” he rejected this time. “What about-”
“Maybe. Or-”
“Hm, I guess. But what about-”
For a while, they sat there going through Matt's music library, the clock ticking away unawares. Maybe they would have been more worried about getting caught if not for the absolute chaos that was midterms. No one paid a lick of attention, even at a military type school like this, during times like this.
But they were running out of time to play for the flight students, who would be getting out of class in another ten minutes. Finally, Matt had to put his foot down.
“We've gotta pick something.”
Shiro just laughed. Matt loved Shiro's laugh. “You're the indecisive one here.”
“Then you pick something!” Matt whined and Shiro laughed again. He plucked the phone from Matt's grip and clicked a song.
“There,” he said, handing it back. Matt looked at it.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,” Shiro said. Matt sighed, then stood up to plug it into the system. After that, it was simple enough to boot up and reroute to the flight simulation deck. He cranked the volume, then, before pressing play, opened up another app on his phone where he had hacked into the security feeds so they could watch the reception of their gift.
Once Matt punched the play button, the reaction was almost instantaneous.
You could see it had worked by the slight jolt that rippled throughout the class. Eyes widened, backs straightened, heads swiveled as if looking for the source of the noise. The instructor had a suspicious look in her eye, as if trying to suss out which of her students was messing with her.
They had turned it on just as a team left the simulation too, who immediately looked relieved to have the attention drawn away. Matt noticed Keith among them, looking less relieved like the students and more suspicious like the teacher. He stood awkwardly next to the two others, arms crossed and eyes narrowed at the ceiling where the speakers lay.
However, it seemed the rest of the class were slipping out of their surprise now, and coming to their senses. And that was when the dancing started.
“Whoo!” Matt cheered, bumping his shoulder with Shiro's and moving to the beat. Shiro chuckled and swatted at his arm, still looking at the screen. The instructor was wearing a severe frown. The group from the simulation had moved back to their peers, some dancing themselves. Keith was smirking now, looking on but not necessarily joining.
Shiro looked up and Matt put the phone down. He spun on the heel of his foot and hollered again. “Let's dance!”
And they danced together, bopping to the beat and laughing when they tried out ridiculous moves. Shiro did a weird roll with his body, then pointed at Matt. Matt did the sprinkler, then grabbed Shiro's hand so they could do a really small, really lame wave.
Matt loved Shiro's lame dancing.
As the song came to an end, Matt looked back at the screen and noticed the simulation deck had all but been evacuated. His stomach dropped.
“Shit, we've got to get out of here!”
Shiro's eyeballs nearly popped out of his head as the realization came to him too, and, while Matt quickly grabbed his phone, Shiro whipped out his key. When they darted into the hall Matt yelled to just leave it when Shiro tried to lock back up the door and they scrambled down the hall.
“I hear footsteps,” Shiro hissed, grabbing Matt's hand and stopping them abruptly. Sure enough, the sound was rapidly increasing up the hall where they were heading. “In here!” Shiro exclaimed and, before Matt could tell where they were going, he was yanked into a dark, tight space.
“Is this-” Matt asked, trying to catch his breath from running. “Is this a storage closet?”
“Did you have a better idea?”
Matt wasn't sure what to say back to that, because, no, he hadn't had a better idea, but he was going to say something until he heard footsteps running past the door. He stiffened, the tension rippling through the air as they waited for them to pass.
Then, they broke out laughing, bending over and clutching at each other's shoulders, breathing fast and hard from the running and, now, laughing. Matt could only see a vague outline of Shiro, illuminated by only the fullest light from the bottom crack of the door. He was looking at him, strangely calm and serene.
“What?” he asked. Shiro quickly looked away.
“Nothing.”
“Shirooo,” Matt whined, as was customary for him. He poked his friend in the side. “Tell meee.”
But, when Shiro looked back, Matt could tell something was different. Something had shifted - between them, between the mood. There was enough light for Matt to notice a fine red painting Shiro's cheekbones, and a look in his eye.
They were silent then, both afraid to break whatever tension laid between them. Matt remembered, with horrible attention, how close they were, and felt his own cheeks redden. His breaths came out uneven.
“Can I-” Shiro said, finally breaking the silence. “Can I kiss you?”
Matt sucked in a breath. It was as if the world stood still.
Then-
“Yes,” Matt said, voice wobbly, but never more certain of anything in his life.
It was perhaps the slowest, most intense experience of Matt's life, waiting for that kiss. But, if it had taken years, Matt would have waited a thousand more. When they kissed, it lasted a lifetime and an eternity. Shiro cupped his cheek. Matt put his hands on Shiro's shoulder, traveling to hold him closer by the neck. Matt loved Shiro's lips.
When they broke away, Matt felt more disoriented than when he'd originally been tugged into that dark closet. He still stood close, not yet releasing Shiro from his hold or himself from that gaze. He loved that gaze.
Then, he pulled himself down from his tiptoes. He smiled, a devilish sort.
“Wow, you're not half bad there,” he said, sort of out of breath. He cleared his throat, a bit embarrassed.
“You were great,” Shiro admitted, much more truthfully, but just as out of breath. Matt felt his whole body warm; he felt as if he was glowing from the inside out. He smacked Shiro playfully.
“Alright, Kashi,” he said, but drew closer again, standing on his toes.
When they kissed again, Matt knew one thing.
He loved Shiro.

VForce E1: New School Defenders
Episode 1: New School Defenders
Transcript by @dragonofyang
Summary: We meet Daniel, a young Voltron fan after the Voltron Force is decommissioned, as he recounts the glory of Voltron and joins the Galaxy Alliance flight school, where he meets former pilots Lance, Pidge, and Hunk. But the Voltron Force doesn’t simply toe the line drawn by Sky Marshal Wade, and with Daniel and Vince’s help, they retrieve their lion keys.
[Google Doc]
Boy: Come on, Daniel, I dare you to do it.
Girl: Double dare you!
Boy: Do it!
Daniel: When are you guys gonna learn? It’s not a dare if I wanna do it.
[Cut between Daniel and Voltron as they chase the robeast, then return to Daniel.]
Daniel: You guys missed it! The lions just formed Voltron! Someday, that’s gonna be me. I’m gonna pilot the Black Lion.
Boy: Huh. You wish.
[Transition to Daniel’s bedroom, where Daniel narrates to the audience.]
Daniel: Yeah, I do wish. Unfortunately, it looks like that’s all it’ll ever be, now. Just a wish.
[Transition to a flashback of Planet Doom.]
Daniel: Not long after the Voltron Force wrecked shop on that robeast, they defeated Lotor and his Drule army. It was epic!
Lotor: What?
[Cut to a flash forward, where the Voltron Force celebrates their victory with the city.]
Daniel: I even got to go to the galaxy victory celebration. It was the greatest day of my life! Until… It was a disaster, but no one was hurt. That’s why I couldn’t believe how quickly everyone forgot all the good Voltron had done, as if they’d been brainwashed. The Defender of the Universe was declared a hazardous threat and decommissioned without even attempting to fix it. How shady is that? My dreams, gone. Now the only thing that excites me is going fast, really fast. So, I enrolled in the Galaxy Alliance flight academy, where things have turned out to be slow. Really slow. When’s life gonna pick up some speed? Of course, if all that wasn’t about to change, I wouldn’t be here telling you this story.
[Transition to opening sequence, with an electric guitar playing under the following lyrics.]
Woo!
One, two, three four!
Voltron’s here, kicking down your door!
Five, six, get with it.
We blaze ‘em with the sword and they can’t get away.
Seven, eight.
We’re bringing down the hurt so we’re here to stay.
Nine, ten, we here to win.
Voltron’s here, let the games begin!
Oh! (Let’s Voltron!)
Oh! (Let’s Voltron!)
Oh! (Let’s Voltron!)
Form up, let’s go!
All night! Let’s go!
Alright, we gonna rock (rock!) and roll (roll!)
Now to rock (rock!) and roll (roll!)
Oh!
[Transition to Daniel in class at the flight academy.]
Professor: ...and so the Galaxy Alliance Fractal Fighter has been Earth’s primary strike and defense weapon since… which battle, cadet Daniel?
Daniel: Huh? Um, the battle at Gemini Four?
Computer: Correct.
Professor: Commander Lance. To what do we owe the honor of a visit from the youngest head flight instructor in academy history?
Lance: I realized it was nearly the end of the first term, and I have yet to greet our first-year cadets. I wanted to get a look at the faces I’ll be seeing when they get into the cockpit in their third year.
Daniel: Ugh, third year.
Lance: So, do any of you potential pilots have any questions for me? Yes, cadet?
Daniel: Sir, with all due respect, why are you here teaching instead of defending the universe? What really happened with Voltron?
Professor: Daniel! You know mention of Voltron is forbidden by Sky Marshal Wade! There are severe consequences for violating this order. Commander Lance, I’m so sorry for--
Lance: It’s alright. I’ll speak of this once and only once. Yes, I used to be the pilot of the red Voltron lion, but after the incident, that’s something I’ve put in the past. Myself, along with tech sergeants Hunk and Pidge--formerly the yellow and green lions--are now loyal soldiers in the service of the Galaxy Alliance military. And Princess Allura, the former blue lion, is ruling on her home planet of Arus.
Daniel: What about the leader of Voltron? The black lion pilot, Commander Keith?
Lance: Ex-commander Keith is a wanted fugitive, and nobody knows his whereabouts.
[Scene change to Keith wearing shades on a beach.]
Manset: So, Commander Keith, I hear you are interested in the location of Wade’s secret base.
Keith: Your hearing is good.
Manset: Why are you seeking this base? Are you looking for trouble?
Keith: I’m looking for something Wade has that doesn’t belong to him, which may lead to trouble, but that doesn’t concern you. I paid you good money for that location, so--
Manset: Yes, well, unfortunately, some people are willing to pay more for your location. Please, do not make a big scene.
Keith: The size of the scene is up to you.
[Cut back to Daniel’s classroom.]
Daniel: How could you and the rest of the team just turn your backs on Commander Keith and Voltron?
Lance: Defending the universe is our top priority, and that’s exactly what the Galaxy Alliance is doing! Voltron was just a vehicle.
Daniel: Just a vehicle?
Lance: That’s enough. You, up. You’re coming with me. You, too.
Vince: Me? W-what’d I do?
Lance: Guilt by association.
[Cut back to Keith on the beach.]
Keith: So, this is how it’s gonna be.
Manset: At least I returned your money. You can count it. It’s all there.
Keith: Yeah, I’ll get right on that.
Masked Guard 1: Ah!
Masked Guard 2: Whoa.
Manset: A sword? Really?
Keith: It’s a weapon of honor. You wouldn’t understand.
[Cut to Lance, Vince, and Daniel entering an office.]
Wade: I assure you all, this supposed rising Drule threat is nothing but rumors to stir the masses.
Coran: But, Sky Marshal Wade, our sources have intercepted increased chatter about this mysterious commander Kala, specifically mentioning Lotor.
Wade: Lotor is dead! Furthermore, Ambassador Coran, if your sources happen to be “The Den”, you’d better think twice before quoting their intelligence to me considering they’re viewed as rebels against the Galaxy Alliance. You continually test my patience, honorable gentleman from Arus. Tread lightly. Good day. Commander Lance, these must be the cadets you called me about?
Lance: Yes, sir.
Wade: Normally I don’t like to concern myself with petty academy matters, but I take my “no Voltron” policy very seriously.
Daniel: Sir, I take full responsibility. He doesn’t belong here. I hardly know him, and he--
Wade: Do not speak, cadet, and don’t play that sickening nobility card, either. It’s a liability in combat. I need an army of obedient, ruthless, fighting machines, not some saps who are going to hesitate to consult their moral compass! Of course, this won’t be a problem for you if you violate my policy again, because a second offense would mean expulsion. However, this being your first, you are receiving the automatic sentence: latrine duty for the rest of the first term, and all of the second term, as well. I hope this teaches you to scrub Voltron from your lives completely.
Lance: I’m sure this experience will give them an entirely different perspective on Voltron, sir.
Daniel: It already has.
[Scene change to the latrines.]
Daniel: Man, I am so sorry I got you into this… mess.
Vince: Hey, you just said what I was thinking. I’m more of the non-confrontational type.
Daniel: Yeah, speaking of “type”, I’ve been meaning to thank you for helping me in class. How did you do, uh, that?
Vince: A tech-gician never reveals his tricks.
Daniel: Huh, you’re an interesting guy, um… I don’t even know your--
Vince: It’s Vince. Should I pretend I don’t know your name’s Daniel to make this less awkward for you?
Daniel: Probably. Well, I definitely owe you one, Vince.
Vince: Ah, don’t worry about it. You can just save my life sometime.
Daniel: So, Vince, what do you think of this place so far?
Vince: You mean, besides the life sentence of latrine duty, and the fact that one of our heroes turned out to be a total snart?
Daniel: Yeah, and then there’s this. I came here to fly jets, and all first-years do are stupid simulators.
Vince: Actually, I like the simulators. All the fun of flying, with none of the death.
Daniel: Unlocked?
Vince: You wanna…
Daniel: Totally.
Vince: Wait, I thought you didn’t like the simulators.
Daniel: I don’t, at least not when we’re supposed to be in them. But now, we’re like Commander Keith, rebel outlaws, operating in the shadows.
[Cut to space, where a single fighter cruises across the screen.]
Keith: I can’t believe Manset was a traitor. He was thoroughly vetted by the Den. And why’d he return my money? It just doesn’t make sense… Says the guy talking to a space mouse. Huh? The coordinates to Wade’s base? “It’s all there.” This is Stalker calling the Den. The watering hole has been located. I’m going hunting. Set course for the Tarvos moon of Saturn.
[Cut to the flight simulators in the Galaxy Alliance academy.]
Daniel: See? These simulators are way too easy. I’m ready to try this stuff pulling twelve G’s.
Vince: Alright, Whiny McGee. You want me to make this interesting for you?
Daniel: Whoa! I thought you were non-confrontational!
Vince: I am, in real life. Well, would you look here? It seems the simulator wants to feel more hurt.
Daniel: Easy pickings.
Lance: What? Can’t you boys keep up?
Daniel: Commander Lance?
Lance: You just want to get expelled, don’t you? Considering this is most likely your last act as GA cadets, let’s see what you’re made of. Hope your straps are on tight.
Daniel: Why? It’s not like these simulators are going to rocket off--woah! Whoo-hoo! Yeah!
Lance: You might want to pull your emergency brake right… now.
Vince: Y-your simulator almost killed me!
Lance: Huh, and Voltron contraband to boot. Wade would throw you in a secret holding cell to rot. Lucky for you, I’m not Wade. Boys, welcome to…
Pidge: The Den.
Lance: Cadets, I’d like you to meet--
Vince: You’re Pidge!
Daniel: The Green Lion pilot! That’s Hunk, the yellow lion!
Pidge: What are you doing? You’re not even welding anything.
Hunk: Yeah, but I wanted to make a cool entrance for these little dudes.
Lance: Mission accomplished.
Daniel: Is Keith here, too?
Lance: Always with the Keith.
[Transition to Keith breaking into a building, then back to the Den.]
Pidge: Why would you draw glasses on top of my glasses?
Daniel: Um, six eyes? I don’t know, I’m not an artist.
Hunk: Well, I’d better get back to duty, but I look forward to working with you clowns in the future.
Daniel: Huh?
Vince: Huh?
Lance: We need to keep up appearances. We’ve been pretending to be the epitome of a good soldier and loyal to Sky Marshal Wade so that he never suspects our underground activities. Pidge and Hunk have built this secret network that has access to Wade’s GA resources.
Pidge: It’s been quite useful in helping Keith on his secret mission.
Daniel: What kind of secret mission?
Lance: The kind that’s a secret.
Daniel: Okay, fine, but you still haven’t explained why we’re here. What does any of this have to do with us?
Lance: Let’s just say your talents have been noticed, and we’d like to cultivate them. In fact, how would you like to take a very cultivating course right now, taught by yours truly?
Vince: Totally! What’s the course?
Lance: Toilet Scrubbing 101. Oh, you’re right, you already have a bit of experience. We’ll call it 102.
[Cut to Keith continuing to infiltrate the building.]
Keith: Great.
Guard: All clear.
[Cut back to the Den.]
Daniel: Okay, we can tell there’s something cool going on here, but if it involves cleaning more toilets…
Lance: Look, I’m going to be asking you to do a lot of things in the future that won’t seem to make sense, but there will always be a reason. The question is, after what you’ve seen, do you trust me?
Daniel: I think so, but why won’t you just give us a straight answer about anything?
Lance: Partially because you aren’t ready to know, but mostly because it’s way more fun for me this way. So I’ll ask again: do you trust me? Because if you don’t, I can have Pidge erase this from your memory.
Daniel: Okay. We’re in.
Lance: Phew! That’s a huge relief, because we do not have a memory-erasing device. That’s science fiction.
[Cut to Keith walking through a corridor.]
Keith: What are you making, Wade?
Guard 1: Hey, you. Have you seen anyone suspicious?
Keith: Probably another false alarm set off by space mice or something.
Guard 2: Yeah, but we gotta run through the motions anyway.
Keith: Decrypt security code. Come on, come on. Shh. Shoo!
[Cut back to the Den.]
Lance: School is in session. How much do you know about Sky Marshal Wade?
Vince: He’s the head of the Galaxy Alliance’s military division.
Daniel: And a snart who hates Voltron.
Pidge: True, but it’s more complicated than that. Wade’s been wanting control of the alliance military for years, always claiming that Voltron was dangerous because the power within the lions is an ancient technology that isn’t fully understood.
Lance: Though we can’t prove it, we know he sabotaged Voltron to turn the public against it.
Daniel: I knew it!
Lance: Wade used this as an excuse to convince the Galaxy Alliance that Voltron’s power isn’t to be trusted. He got them to regulate the lions back to their storage chambers on Arus.
Pidge: However, I believe that Wade actually just wanted to study their technology.
Lance: While I believe it’s time to start your first class project. Wade is a well-decorated general, but he’s particularly proud of his four-stripe pin. Pidge has made a replica of this pin, and you boys are gonna swap this out.
Daniel: Your master revenge plan is switch out his favorite pin for a fake?
Lance: Yes. Remember our earlier conversation about trust?
Daniel: Remember you don’t have a mind-erasing device?
Lance: Touche. Let’s continue anyway, shall we? Latrine duty happens to be the only hole in Wade’s security. The toilet-cleaning cadets have pretty much unfettered access. And like all disciplined army men, Wade does everything on an air-tight schedule, and I mean everything. Now, we already know you have a talent for sneaking around, so when Wade’s coat is off for his “0600”, that’s your chance to make the swap. Should be a piece of cake.
[Transition to Daniel and Vince in Wade’s bathroom.]
Daniel: Nice.
Vince: Sweet.
Vince: I think this time he’s finished. Like us. How did you… What were you thinking?
Daniel: I didn’t think at all. Guess you’re lucky I’m impulsive.
Vince: Yeah, well, consider the “saving my life” debt paid. I was hoping to hold that over your head, but--
Wade: Look at this mess, you insufferable beast! I swear, if you chase one more mouse...
[Scene change to Keith, sneaking through the vents.]
Keith: Found you.
[Scene change back to Lance, Daniel, and Vince.]
Lance: Ah, there it is. Nice job, boys. Piece of cake, right?
Vince: More like piece of meat.
Lance: Well, you did such a good job, that I’ve decided to expel you from the academy, after all. Unless you’d rather stay and finish out your two terms of latrine. You are showing great promise in that field of study. Go on and pack your bags, boys. We’re taking a road trip.
[Scene change to space.]
Vince: This is all happening so fast.
Daniel: I often find fast is the best way.
Lance: So, I think you boys have earned the right to know a bit more about Wade’s pin. More like “pins”. And more like “keys” than “pins”.
Daniel: The keys to the lions!
Allura: Welcome to Arus, and welcome to the Castle of Lions.
Daniel: Whoa. Where’s the black key?
Lance: I assure you, it’s in good wrists.
End.

Kidge Parent HC Part 2.3
Whoo! I wanted to try and get this part out before I hit a full week since I uploaded part 2.2, but life happened! Then again, it didn’t take me too much longer, so there’s that! Hopefully I can get the next part out soon as well as a few fics and other things :3c
Pre-facing all of this by mentioning there is a little bit angst-ish material in this part so tread carefully!
Kidge Married Pre-Babies: [Read Here]
Kidge w/ Babies Part 2.1: [Read Here]
Kidge w/ Babies Part 2.2 [Read Here]
Also, note taken from the start of Part 2.1, but: Forewarning that there will be some mentions of Allurance in all these parts, but I’m not tagging it because they aren’t given any real focus. Additionally, since I know some of this stuff can squick some people out, warning that there will be somewhat-detailed talk about pregnancy, birth, and what exactly comes in the early stages with a newborn so please be wary if such things make you uncomfortable.
The Third Baby
So, once again, the next baby is completely unplanned and they hadn’t really talked about having another baby. Once Pidge finds out she’d pregnant, they decide to roll with it.
At the time, Kaden is a little over a year and Amber is on her way towards her fifth birthday. They figure this is a good timeframe, since both the kids are at good ages that make them relatively independent and they hope this will, again, keep from there being any sibling rivalry.
Amber is thrilled at the idea of having another little sibling to look after, and Kaden doesn’t really understand but he sees that his sister is excited so he gets excited too.
This time around, the Holts are told first, followed by Shiro, Krolia, Hunk, and the Altean Crew. Everyone is just as excited now as they were the previous times, and Colleen asks about when Pidge’s due date is so that she can start making a blanket for the baby.
For pregnancy symptoms, Pidge gets nausea/ vomiting again, though it’s less severe than with Kaden. She also has to deal with her breasts being a bit tenderer than they were when she was pregnant with the first two.
The big change with this pregnancy is that Pidge gets some pretty severe mood swings. Keith, to his credit, does his best to play nice, but he will occasionally quip back because it does get grating having her on him about every little thing.
One night in specific, though, they get pretty bad with each other. It’s a stupid argument about how the towels are folded and Pidge just won’t let it drop and Keith is refusing to just walk away because things are getting way out of line and, hormones or not, she needs to back off. It gets pretty loud, admittedly, and the kids come out of their rooms to see what’s going on.
Now, I need to clarify right now; Pidge and Keith occasionally do have little spats. That’s just kind of a typical thing about couples as a whole and is to be expected. They’re typically much better about choosing their battles and knowing when to have their arguments, having learned from their younger days. Up until this point, they’ve been really good about letting things simmer down until the kids have gone to bed and having quiet arguments to keep them out of it.
Kaden immediately starts half-wailing, half-yelling at them to stop. Pidge and Keith clamp their mouths shut and just kinda stare in horror.
And then, uncharacteristically meek and scared, Amber asks, “Do Mommy and Daddy not love each other anymore?”
Pidge and Keith take the kids and settle on the couch, with Pidge cuddling Kaden to try and calm him down, and Keith keeping Amber wrapped up in his arms.
*Keith starts* “First things first, we’re sorry you two heard that. We were having a silly fight and we shouldn’t have gotten so upset about it. Mommy and Daddy still love each other very much.” *Amber, eyes still big and uneasy, but relaxing against Keith* “You do?” *Pidge chimes in* “Absolutely. Sometimes we have little disagreements. Kind of like how you two argue sometimes about what game to play. You two may be a little mad, but you still love each other, right?” *Kaden nods, shifting and nuzzling more into Pidge* “It’s kind of like that. We’re very sorry that you two heard us, because we never want you to think that things are bad with us. We still love each other very much, and we love you two most of all.” *Kaden immediately perks up all excited* “And the new baby, too!” *Keith chuckles, squeezing Amber and reaching over to ruffle Kaden’s hair* “That’s right buddy.”
Pidge and Keith have a long conversation after the kids are in bed about everything. Pidge promises to stop riding him so hard about little details and try to recognize when her hormones are making her act a little ridiculous. Keith agrees to be patience and politely point out when she’s being unreasonable instead of just bottling it up to himself.
Yet again, they decide to find out the gender as soon as they are able to, so that they can pick out a name easier. Turns out they are expecting another boy this time around, with the due date being in early April.
In regards to preparing for their Third Musketeer, it becomes a family affair. Much like with Kaden, Amber is all up in their business about wanting to help, and Kaden feeds off of her excitement and becomes just as invested, though in more subtle ways. While Amber will jump in and just outright state her opinion as if it’s fact, Kaden will be a bit more sly and treat it like a suggestion. He may be small and barely know a lot of words, but the kid is sharp as a whip.
Finally, Keith suggests they have a family meeting to discuss it and figure everything out together. This turns out to be a hilarious decision in more ways than one.
*Amber is standing on top of her seat at the dinner table, small toy hammer in hand, lightly tapping it along the surface* Quiet at the table! The first official meeting of the New Baby Discuss Legislaturor Office is now in effect!
*Kaden, smacking one hand on the table top* First meeting go!
*Pidge, biting lip not to laugh* Well, what’s on the agenda then?
“Excellent question, Legislaturor Mommy!” *Keith sets a juice box in front of Amber and then Kaden* “Thank you, Legislaturor Daddy.”
“Thanks Daddy!”
*Keith, chuckling quietly to self* “You’re both very welcome.”
They come up with his name pretty quick, but deciding on a theme is a bit more difficult. Considering they’ve done space for Amber and jungle for Kaden, and both the kids insist that they can’t reuse one of those since their baby brother is a new baby and thus needs a new theme, Pidge and Keith are actually absolutely clueless in regards to what they should pick. The whole family runs through about nine different ideas before Kaden suggests that they should go with dinosaurs. His reasoning? Because dinosaurs are cool. They decide to go with it because it makes sense.
Pidge actually ends up going into labor nearly three weeks early this time, on March 25th, with her water breaking in the early afternoon. Keith takes she and the kids to the hospital, with Shiro and Matt being the first two to meet them there this time. They take the kids while Keith and Pidge head to labor and delivery.
Now, complications are always a chance for a pregnancy and delivery. They haven’t really encountered anything like that before, but they’ve both been aware of it, if not a little unwilling to acknowledge that it could happen to them.
Until it does.
The labor this time around is agonizingly long and painful for Pidge, and additionally risky for the baby himself. First things first, he decides to come out sideways, so that the hard part of his head is pressing right against Pidge’s pelvis - this is typically referred to as a “sunny-side Baby” and, fun fact, I actually did this when I was born so sorry about that Mom I love you - and making the whole process even more agonizing for her. Additionally, Keith catches something about the umbilical cord being wrapped around his little throat and Pidge hemorrhaging too much blood. What little he catches sends him panicking, and only escalates when the hospital staff starts trying to usher him from the room while more medical staff rushes in to help further.
It takes one of the doctors telling him that he’ll only be in the way to urge him out. He can hear the monitors for both Pidge and the baby going crazy as he’s shoved into the hallway and the door is slammed, signaling the baby’s heart rate is escalating and Pidge’s heart rate is dropping.
Another nurse, whom hadn’t been called in but overheard a bit of what was going on, reassures him that they’ll be okay and urges him to go be with the rest of the family while he waits.
He heads out to the front lobby, where everyone is gathered and chatting animatedly. Amber and Kaden see him and smile but slowly stop when they see the look on his face. The flock to him, but neither of them is eager and giddy as they do; clearly more scared and seeking comfort. Keith doesn’t say a word as he scoops them both up, settles into the closest chair they can find, and keeps them both pressed up in his arms.
The others can all tell that something is terribly wrong, but also know better than to press Keith for an answer, so they all sit in silence for the next thirty-forty minutes.
Amber and Kaden end up passing out in Keith’s arms, completely exhausted. They’ve all been at the hospital for almost ten hours and, despite Colleen and Samuel offering to take them home to sleep in their beds until their baby brother arrived, the two had insisted on seeing him first.
Once the kids are asleep, Shiro comes over and gently asks Keith about what’s happening. He recounts what had been going on at the time he got kicked from the room, in a clipped and sharp tone, though he does keep his volume down to avoid disturbing the kids.
They all sit in terrified silence for another thirty minutes before the kind nurse that talked Keith into coming to the lobby approaches them. Keith carefully hands the snoozing Amber and Kaden over to Krolia and Colleen respectively so he can walk over and talk to her.
*She offers him a small, soft smile* “The doctor will be down in a moment to let you know himself, but they’re both going to be okay. They were able to stop your wife’s bleeding and get her attached to a blood bag, and the baby-“
“Oliver. His name is Oliver.” *His voice cracks and wavers a bit, a mix of relief that Pidge is well but nervous still for their baby*
*The nurse blinks then smiles* “Oliver is going to be just fine, too. They managed to get the cord unwrapped from his neck before it could cause any damage and he came out shrieking. They’ll most likely need to stay a little longer for observation and to assure there aren’t any additional complications, but so far they’re both looking good after some time to rest.”
Keith thanks her and she scampers off. A few minutes later the doctor comes down to tell Keith basically the same thing. They explain that Keith and Pidge won’t be able to see Oliver for a few hours, simply because he’s being held in the ICU under observation, but that they can go in small groups of no more than three to see Pidge.
Keith, Colleen and Samuel are the first three to go in to see her. She’s pale and still a little groggy from the exhaustion of labor and blood loss, but she manages a small smile when they come in to see her. Keith settles into the seat beside her without a word, taking one of her hands and holding it tightly. She gives his hand a little squeeze before talking a bit with her parents.
Colleen and Samuel ask her the typical questions – how are you feeling, are you comfortable, etc. – as well as asking Pidge if there’s anything in specific she needs or wants. She asks if, after they go home and get some rest, they can sneak in some food for her. Specifically, she explains that she would really like a chicken sandwich and some shoestring French fries. They promise to sneak it in for her, as well as Colleen promising to bring Oliver’s completed baby blanket - in a lovely shade of yellow - with them.
Coran, Allura and Lance come in next while the others look after the kids. Lance and Allura offer to watch Amber and Kaden for them, but Krolia had already insisted on watching them for them before Keith headed up to see Pidge. Next, Hunk, Shiro and Matt come in to check on her. Hunk and Matt both nearly choke her with tight hugs and sniffles. Shiro helps with prying them both off when they cling on to her for too long, being a lot gentler with his own hug. He keeps an eye on Keith throughout their visit and makes sure they keep it brief, promising that he’ll help Krolia with getting the kids in their car seats when they all head out for the night.
Lastly, Krolia and the kids come in to see them. Kaden and Amber are still really sleepy but they’re much more frantically to see their Mommy. Keith and Krolia help them get up on the bed and they both snuggle up to her. They both know she’s hurt, even if they don’t exactly understand the extent of those injuries.
“Are you okay now, Mommy?” “Yes, I am, Amber. Still a little tired but I’ll be fine.” *Kaden leans up and gives Pidge a quick smooch on the cheek* “Magic kissie…” *Pidge, heart melting* “Thank you, Snuggle Bug.” *They’re all silent for a good long while before Amber lifts her head and looks around curiously* “Where’s Oliver?” “He’s resting in a special place where the doctors can make sure that he’s okay.” *The first time Keith has spoken since he’s come into the room.* “Is he gonna be okay?” “Yes, baby girl. He just needs to get some rest, like Mommy.” *Pidge chimes back in to let Keith step back again* *Amber nods and snuggles back up with her and Kaden again*
Krolia makes sure to touch up on a few more things with Keith and Pidge, relating to how Pidge is feeling and offering to stay with them to help out once Pidge and Oliver do get discharged. Pidge thanks her and admits that she might take her up on the offer. Keith helps Krolia get the kids in her arms and Shiro, as he had offered, waits for Krolia to help her get them loaded up in the car.
Once they’re all alone, Pidge just gently takes one of Keith’s hands and strokes the top slowly with her thumb. It takes Keith a moment, but then he lifts her hand and just rests his forehead lightly against it and starts openly sobbing. It’s a mixture of relief that both she and Oliver are okay, as well as letting out the remaining fear and panic he’d been feeling while he was sitting in the waiting room.
“I was so fucking scared.”
“… I’m sorry…”
“S’not your fault, I just… I’m so happy you’re okay. That he’s okay. That we’re all okay and… I love you so much, Katie.”
“I love you too, Keith.”
The two of them talk about it that night and agree that three kids is a good number and that Oliver will be their last. As to whether or not that actually is the case though…
The next morning, one of the nurses being Oliver in, pushing him along in a little baby bed. He is already shrieking for all his little lungs are worth. Keith takes him out and he pauses to stare up at Keith, all wide eyes and a trembling lower lip, and he offers the little guy a small smile. He hands him over to Pidge and he latches on to nurse really easily, and Pidge chuckles a bit, lightly rubbing one of his flushed cheeks.
“Hmm… He’s a bit of a troublemaker, but he is pretty cute. Think we should keep him?”
*Keith chuckles a bit, sitting next to the bed and watching them* “Pretty sure we have to. I don’t think we have the receipt.”
“Darn. Well, at least he’s pretty to look at.”
Anyway, Oliver ends up getting Keith’s dark hair, but has more of the male Holt features in him. He ends up with Pidge’s eyes, but the actual shape of his face and nose and everything? Colleen actually busts out a bunch of baby pictures of Matt, as well as some pictures of Samuel as a baby that she has from Pidge’s grandmother, and his features seem to come from there. Pidge insists that she can see the faint outline of freckles along his nose and cheeks, too, but no one else seems to think so; except Amber, who agrees mostly to make Pidge feel better.
Also, regarding his birthday… Despite Pidge going into labor on March 25th, and he was about halfway out before midnight hit, he wasn’t technically considered delivered until about 12:15 a.m. on March 26th, since that was when they were able to get him out safely.
Now, as for what Oliver is like once he gets home…
He is trouble. From the womb most likely until to the tomb.
You know all the stereotypes about babies? How all they do is cry all the time and they’re never happy? Yeah, Oliver fits that mold pretty well. If he is awake but not on the booby nursing, he is protesting every single establishment known to man.
In regards to Keith’s morning walk, he almost never takes Oliver with him because of how fussy and temperamental the little guy is. Pidge and Keith agree that they aren’t going to disturb him at any point in time where he’s quiet.
Once he gets to be a bit bigger, his constant fussing actually serves a purpose. See, unlike Amber and Kaden, who started getting their teeth around five months and six months respectively, Oliver starts teething and gets his first tooth shortly after turning three months old. Thankfully, he’s better about taking tethers, which is a step up from Amber, who outright refused them.
So, regarding Oliver’s first smile, Keith gets it. Pidge, however, gets his first laugh, as well as getting to be the first word he says. It’s a kind of funny situation that leads to his first word, too. It’s at a cookout with the others, the Castle Ship settled in a park and everyone gathered together.
*Keith, gently rubbing a wailing Oliver’s back.* “Come on, buddy, it’s okay. No need to cry.”
*Lance perks up then smiles.* “Hey, hand him here. I have a trick I did with Alfie and Raya that always worked at calming them down.”
*Keith, cautious but desperate, hands over Oliver.*
*Oliver, continuing to scream*
“Hey, buddy! Look at me! Look at Uncle Lance!” *Oliver keeps crying but looks at him.* “Time for Flying Baby! Whee!” *Lance proceeds to toss Oliver as high into the air as he can, then has to step back a bit to actually catch him.*
*Silence reigns supreme for a second. Oliver stares down at Lance, then slowly looks at Keith, as if to ask, “Daddy, why?” And Keith suddenly questions every life decision he’s made up until this point and how he ever thought this was a good idea. Oliver looks back at Lance then, taking a deep breath, before his eyes get watery.*
*Lance realizes what is about to happen.* “N-No, no! You don’t need to cry louder, buddy! It’s okay th-!”
*Oliver, at the top of his lungs, in an unholy wail.* “MAMA!”
*Pidge, bursting over out of literal fucking nowhere.* “Lance what the Hell are you doing to my baby?!”
Oliver has a stuffed animal that he likes when he naps. It’s a little wombat that he eventually names Gamgoro – a name he recalls hearing from a story Keith or Pidge told them – but he’s not exactly big on stuffed animals. His favorite toys are a little cash register, which he pretends is a computer. He’ll go and sit down near Pidge when she’s working and clack at the little keys and pretend he’s doing “super-duper important busy-ness stuffs”. His other favorite toys is a little push car that he likes to run around in, typically following Keith or Amber or Kaden around.
Also, small note about Oliver and his siblings, there isn’t any real rivalry between any of the three of them, though Kaden sometimes gets fussy about having to share his old hand-me-down toys, but other than that, they’re all good.
That’s all for now! But we do have another two parts that will hopefully be out soon!

jeremy didnt cater to a/l in his response his answer was very vague and general. ofc not saying it means he meant klance but it doesnt give much on a/l either. al is quite obvious now that their feelings are mutual so i dont understand the whole secrecy around lance's endgame if its gonna be the boring hetero relationship (i mean i do know why they are like this coughbaitingcough) but still they should really just shut up now.
yeah even lauren and jds were like “yeah whoo knoooows” like come on....cut the bullshit we know what will happen you’re not fooling anyone lmao and maybe they shouldnt have done certain interviews before season 6 about shipping but ya know. big dumbass energy amirite.
1)hi, i'm a newbie and just watched the whole fucking thing and what i've gathered is that the writers wanted some sort of romance in the show and since keith/lance was a no no for them (either originally or after), they decided to head towards lance/allura which makes zero fucking sense since allura was clearly not interested and tbh the way lance acted/flirted w her was no special from the way he was flirting with everyone else. all i saw was allura "changing" towards lance's flirting in s7 ++
2)which is already too much time for us to even forget there's even something. no good arch and not a good confession of feelings at the end since the fucking mice decided to sprawl everything out, which again makes it super awkwards because that way i feel like allura may respond to lance's feelings out of pity. again such a shitty thing to do. i feel like they just wanted some sort of romance and they just compromised with a forced one that's been built in the last meeting. very sloppy++
3)this whole enemies to friends is such a cliche concept and i'm sure if it was male/female instead of male/male characters they would totally have them end up together. so now they just opted for a forced romance lmao. also, even if i didn't take into consideration fandom's opinion on klance, i would still think they were heading towards a keith/lance endgame. it makes much more sense. there are two scenes especially that has stuck with me. the one being in s7ep3 where keith says to lance +++
4) to lead the team and lance is literally the only one to question keith where he's going and he looks so fucking worried. and when keith explains and leaves the look on lance's face is just... and the second scene is in that random game show episode where they have the chance to choose one member of their team to escape and lance says keith "because he's the future" or something where he could literally have chosen allura if he really loved her or whatever in order to escape bc isn't +++
5) that what usually happens? you rescue the one you love. yeah not to mention that keith chose lance because "he didn;t want to be stuck with him" which seems to me more like having an ego and not admiting the real reason but that's just me lol. i really think s8 will have an allurance kiss since everything pointed out that way in s7 which yeah doesn't make much sense to me but whatever. also, very nice blog btw. i'm new and i'm already hooked w your blog!! :) (p.s soz for the long ask) :(
yeah i still wonder why they didnt let allura and lance pick e/o tbh. it would have cemented al better from the early season episodes. this is what i always say like they never tried to sell the ship well to make the public engaged to it. it’s so fucking weird. anyway thank you i hope you have nice stay owo

The Little Things Ch. 7
The Little Things
Summary: Lance thought he would be okay. It was a rough week, and he had to help his friends out a bit. No problem. He was fine. Everything was fine. But it wasn’t. It wasn’t fine.
Prefer to read it on A03? Here!
First - Previous
A/N: Heyo! Very sorry for the long wait but I have a small, exciting announcement at the end, so please, please, please read it! Thank you!
As always, please enjoy~!
Sunday - 9:03 am
Streams of sunlight peeked behind the corners of the curtains, only a sliver of the room receiving the glow of the morning. But it was enough to stir Lance from his sleep, lapping at his cheeks in comfortable warmth. He hummed happily, leaning into the warmth that cradled his cheek in hopes of getting more. But the curtains weren’t drawn, and all Lance did was move to a colder spot on the bed. He frowned slightly, forcing his eyes open as he looked towards the window, a pout on his face. He didn’t remember if he or Keith had closed them, but he wished they hadn’t now, spending a moment wishing they would move away on their own, trying to summon his inner ‘force’. When the curtains didn’t move, he let out a long and quiet yawn, huffing and deciding that he wanted to get up anyway.
When he did start to move, he was stopped when something held onto him, pulling him closer in a protective matter. He shifted in the hold to look at Keith, blinking a few times before a smile tugged at his lips. Throughout the night, his hair had gotten more wild, sticking up in different angles, some falling into his face. It was cute. Lance carefully reached up and brushed them away, kissing his forehead before settling back into his hold. Keith’s arm seemed to tighten just a bit more, sighing in what Lance could only describe as content. He couldn’t help but feel a little selfish as he laid there, realistically being able to move if he wanted to. But instead he stayed, watching Keith for a good while as he reveled in the protective hold he had on him.
It made him feel wanted.
It made him feel safe.
He could feel his thoughts start to eat at the back of his mind, trying to push into his head and drown him as he became more awake. But Lance pushed them away, forced them back, ignored them, because right now all he wanted to do was lay there with Keith holding onto him. He just wanted to enjoy the moment because damn, it had been a long week. He still felt the hint of exhaustion, but he also felt rested. He didn’t struggle to fall asleep last night, essentially passing out as soon as his head hit the pillow, and he hadn’t woken up once through the night. It helped that Keith had been there with him, murmuring comforting words until he was asleep. Lance thought Keith would have left afterwards, but he had decided to spend the night, planned on it, and it made his heart do things it probably shouldn’t have.
So he was going to enjoy it. He was going be at peace, if even just for a moment.
“Morning.” A sleepy mumble came, making Lance jump slightly. He huffed when Keith started chuckling, sending a glare at him. But it softened almost instantly, Lance unable to stay annoyed with Keith’s bed head in existence.
“Good morning babe.” He hummed, deciding to snuggle closer. They stayed like that for a while, longer than Lance thought they would, but it didn’t seem like Keith minded. He only shifted once, and that was because his other arm was starting to cramp. But other than that, Keith kept his hold on Lance, and Lance kept as close as he could.
It was a funny thing. Perhaps not comically funny, but one of those... cute funny things that you can’t help but smile stupidly about. Compared to the beginning of their relationship, they had certainly come a far way. While Lance was more physically affectionate, he wasn’t much of a cuddler when it came to relationships. Keith was the opposite, which had certainly surprised him after they started dating. Lance had thought he was too bony, too lanky, to stiff to cuddle with, and when it came close in his previous relationships, he would get nervous, get self conscious, and would joke his way out of it. Keith, who was as patient as he could be, had made him realize that it wasn’t true. And now… here they were, Lance wanting nothing but for them to stay like that.
…
Sunday - 10:02 am
Eventually Lance had to get up, the need to use the bathroom stronger than his want to stay in bed. When he came back, Keith had pulled the curtains back, the sun brightening up his room. He was sitting on the bed, scrolling through his phone with a bored look on his face. Lance laughed and quickly walked over to the window and looked outside, humming when he spotted a few students out and about, some enjoying the sun, others lingering in the warmth before continuing on their way to their destination. He opened the window then, breathing in the fresh air as the breeze blew into his room. It was so nice out, and for once, he actually felt energized enough to go out. He looked back to ask Keith if he was planning on anything before the movie night when he caught his boyfriend staring at him.
“What…?” He asked, raising a brow at the look he was receiving.
Something’s wrong with you.
“You’re beautiful.” Keith answered bluntly. Lance couldn’t help but falter over his words, bringing a hand up to cover his mouth to stop the stupid sounds that were leaving. He quickly turned away, a pout on his face when he heard Keith chuckle at his embarrassment.
He’s lying. How can someone like you look beautiful? You’re ugly… Maybe he’s making fun of you… You did just wake up after all…
Lance winced, trying to push back the frown that tug at the corners of his mouth. He hadn’t done his morning routine, hadn’t even gotten dress and Keith had complimented him. He couldn’t help as his eyes drifted towards his mirror, taking in his appearance, lingering on every small detail. His hair was an utter mess, sticking up in odd angles and clearly tangled. Parts of it was still straight from when he did it yesterday, but other parts had started to lose it’s form, curling and adding to the mess. His freckles also seemed to stand out more, the sunlight acting as a spotlight on his splotchy skin. The bruise was more prominent than ever, dark black and blue. It looked as painful as it was. He could also see where he had bit his lip, an angry red sticking out compared to the usual color. He didn’t even want to look at his body, already feeling how his limbs were too long, his shoulders sticking out and the faint pain in his hand and-
How…? How can he say that I’m beautiful? I’m not-
“To me you are beautiful. You may not think it, hell you may not believe me right now Lance, but god… To me you are... so beautiful.” Keith said suddenly, his arms wrapping around him as he tried to pull his gaze away from the mirror. “Everything you think is wrong, I think is fine. I think is just another part of you that I love. The bruise reminds me just how caring, and just how brave you are, which adds to the long lists of reasons why I love you.”
Lance could feel his eyes well up, wanting to so desperately believe in what Keith was saying. And after a moment of just repeating his words in his head, he did. He tore his eyes away from his own reflection, instead looking at Keith who was looking back at him through the mirror. He swallowed down any response he had that were negative and couldn’t help but smile. It was small at first, but his laugh grew until he was full on laughing, shaking his head at his own ridiculousness. He was suppose to be the romantic in the relationship, the one to whoo Keith off his feet. Clearly, Keith was winning on the whole ‘whoo’ing’. Especially since he was taking his insecurities in account.
“Since when did you get so good at this?” He asked, leaning back and giving him a small kiss on the cheek.
“I’ve had a lot of help from someone. They… They’ve helped me through quite a bit.” Lance smiled at that, watching Keith’s eyes soften.
“Practice does make perfect.” He mused, letting his eyes close as he felt Keith’s lips on his shoulder.
“It helps that I practice on someone as incredible as you.” Lance could feel the grin before he saw it, feeling his blush warm the tips of his ears. He moved to whack Keith, but he missed when the other quickly stepped away, getting distance between them before Lance could even try to hit him again.
“Are you fu- Oh my god Keith. Stop! You’re insufferable.” Lance whined, covering his face. Keith only laughed in response, kissing his cheek quickly.
“You still love me.” He teased, moving to grab his clothes.
“Shut up… Help me figure breakfast out before I kick your ass out.” Lance grumbled, grabbing a pillow and chucking it at him..
“You won’t kick me out.”
“No I won’t… But it is tempting.”
…
Sunday - 5:49 pm
Most of their day was spent outside, Lance convincing Keith that it would be a better place to do homework than going to the library. It gave Lance a bit more energy when he was outside, no longer cooped up in his room where he stored his multiple emotional breakdowns. It was an entirely different feeling being outside, plus he really liked being out in the sun. He had also done fairly well homework wise, tackling some of his smaller assignments while also getting a big chunk out of his group project done. He had to admit, as stressful as the assignments were, it did make him feel better too, a sense of accomplishment washing away the thoughts that called him useless. Plus, all his focus was spent on his homework that he had forgotten about his thoughts for a good while.
As the sunlight began to melt together into the oncoming sunset, Lance figured he had done enough for the day, stretching out his back and listening to it crack. He saved his work before closing his laptop, stretching his legs out next. He looked over to Keith to ask if he was ready to call it the quits, but he stopped when he saw the scowl on his face, clearly reading about something he didn’t like in the article before him. He kept his laughter to himself, pulling his phone out to let Keith finish reading. Or continue… It honestly all depended on how much his professor’s hated him. He looked through his notifications, snorting when he saw a preview of Hunk’s messages.
[Hunk]: Lance McClain
[Hunk]: My bro for life
[Hunk]: The only man I would ever fall in love with other than Gordon Ramsay.
[Hunk]: The Ocean to my Beach
[Hunk] The Jelly to my Peanut Butter
[Hunk]: The Shark Boy to my Lava Girl
[Hunk]: If you don’t show up to Movie Night, I will personally hunt you down and drag you here out of pure love.
Lance choked on laughter as he read through his messages, unable to stifle it down. It took him a minute to actually calm down enough to actually type a reply, waving Keith off when he asked if he was okay.
[Lance]: A little dramatic there aren’t you?
[Hunk]: I came to pick you up and you’re not here ):
[Hunk]: Where are you T^T
[Lance]: I’m on the quad. Was doing homework with Keith
[Hunk]: Ah
[Hunk]: Had me worried there bud. Also didn't know Keith was back. Make sure he comes too. Tell him I made food for everyone, including the chicken dip
“Hunk said to make sure you came to Movie Night. He made chicken dip.” Lance relayed, giggling when Keith’s eyes seemed to light up as he began to eagerly pack his things.
“Tell him thanks.”
[Lance]: Keith said you are a blessing and that he’s definitely coming.
[Hunk]: Did he really tho?
[Lance]: In his own, Keith-y way.
He pocketed his phone then, joining Keith in packing up. He made sure they didn’t leave anything behind, garbage or otherwise before tugging Keith along.
“Someone’s excited.”
“Hunk made food. Of course I am!” Lance snorted, slipping his hand into Keith’s.
…
Sunday - 6:35 pm
“You’re late bitches!”
“Pidge!” Shiro yelled in his warning voice. Lance and Keith followed Shiro into his apartment, Lance grinning towards Pidge who was sitting upside down on the couch.
“How dare you refer to me that way. I am the Boss Ass Bitch.” Lance joked, going as far as posing, hand under his chin.
“Oh my god.” He heard Keith and Shiro.
“Welcome Lance.” Allura laughed, dropping a pile of blankets onto the floor beside the couch followed by Adam who dropped a bunch of pillows.
“Hey bud.” Adam chuckled, ruffling his hair.
“My hair!” Lance whined, quickly swatting Adam’s hands away before fixing it, glaring when the older student simply just laughed.
He plopped onto his usual spot on the couch, grabbing the pile of movies from the table to see what everyone had picked, grinning when he saw a few of the group’s favorites. Shiro and Adam were setting up the T.V, occasionally bickering about some of the cords. He could hear Hunk rummaging around in the kitchen, Pidge informing him that he wouldn’t let anyone in because he wanted to finish up with his food. Keith was pulling out the movies he and Lance picked, tossing them over after snorting at Lance’s choice. He passed the movies to Pidge then, who sat at the other end of the couch. Allura sat next to them then and they started working together to figure out what order the movies should go in, Allura being the one who normally did it.
“What? You don’t like musicals?” He asked as Keith placed their bags by the door.
“It’s just always amusing to watch everyone sing along to all of the songs. Besides, it’s better than the alternative.” He shrugged before taking up his spot besides Lance, taking the edge of the couch.
“What was the alternative?” Hunk asked as he emerged from the kitchen finally, holding several plates of food. He sat them on the table neatly, going into the kitchen once more to get the rest of the stuff. Once he had finally set everything up, Lance stood up.
“Hunk Garret! My bro for life, the only one I’d leave Keith for-”
“Fair enough.” Keith mumbled, the rest of their friends snickering.
“-The Lava Girl to my Shark Boy, the beach to my ocean, the peanut butter to my jelly! I have arrived!” Lance cried, tossing himself at Hunk once his arms were free. Hunk laughed, giving him what Lance called his famous bear hug.
“It’s about time you came. I was ready to go out and find you.” He laughed, sitting them down onto the couch with a tired puff.
“Blame Keith. He forgot to pick a movie out so we had to stop by his place to get something.” He quickly said, yelping when Keith gave him pointed look.
“No. We’re late because I had to convince you not to pick the Bee movie.” He grumbled.
“What!? You stopped him from picking the Bee movie!? You fool! That movie is gold!’ Pidge whined.
“Thank you!” Lance yelled, reaching out to hold Pidge’s hand.
“It would have been the Bee’s knees.” Shiro said suddenly, a chorus of groans as a response.
“On second thought, thank god you didn’t. Shiro would have made stupid puns all night.” Pidge grumbled.
“What!? My puns aren’t that bad…” Shiro pouted.
“No offense babe… but they’re as bad as you’re cooking.” Adam piped in, connecting the computer to the T.V. while Shiro was distracted. Shiro whined in offense, the group laughing as he pouted to himself. They only laughed more when Adam leaned over to peck his cheek which made Shiro then smile.
“How are you feeling Lance?” Allura asked, passing the first movie to Adam so he could plug it in.
“I’m… getting there.” He offered, thinking about it for a moment. The thoughts were buzzing at the back of his head, but it was easy not to listen to them while he was with friends and while he was genuinely having a good time. So he said as much. “It’s better being surrounded by everyone rather alone. Just… took me a while. I also got some much needed sleep.” He laughed.
“I’m glad you are here with us Lance. It would not have been the same if one of us were missing.” She said, rubbing his arm a bit with a smile. Lance smiled back and nodded.
“We’re all glad.” Keith added, the rest of them all sounding in agreement. Lance could feel tears well again, quickly waving his hand in front of his face.
“Okay! We all need to stop being sappy now before I start crying!” Lance shouted, hiding his face into Keith’s chest. He snuggled closer when he heard everyone laugh.
God I love them…
They don’t love you. They’re all lying… There’s no way they’re actually glad to see you here.
No… They do.
Lance shoved his thoughts back bitterly, the urge to fist fight himself growing. He huffed and adjusted himself, absorbing the warmth of his friends instead. He was getting annoyed with his thoughts now, getting agitated with the way it would shove into his life when he was genuinely having a good time. It was a stupid cycle Lance was trapped in, one that he was working on escaping. Hopefully… one day he would be able to.
“Alright, let’s dig in!” Hunk yelled, the group cheering.
…
After passing food around, everyone settled down together, Adam and Shiro taking a spot on the floor in front of the couch. The rest of them piled onto the couch, comfortably cuddling with one another as the movie started. Lance hummed happily as he leaned back against Keith and Hunk, snuggled between them. He nibbled on his food, looking over his friends and watching them, smiling as he kept an eye on all of his friends. They all looked comfortable, smiles on their faces when they weren’t stuffing their faces with Hunk’s food. On occasion someone would quote the movie making the rest of them laugh or join in. In the privacy of Shiro’s apartment, everyone seemed to relax more, be more of themselves, be happy. It was nice.
So maybe he wasn’t exactly okay this week. Maybe he was still struggling. But right now…
He was more okay then he had been all week.
