Billy: You seem gloomy today
Agatha: I’m always like this
Jen: It’s because your girl finally grew a spine, and stopped pursuing you
Agatha: Wow Jen, very insightful
Alice: That is what happens when you ghost someone
*Rio flirting casually with a pretty woman*
Lilia, sipping her coffee: And treat the father of your child like—
Agatha: Alright already I get it
*Agatha noticing the pretty woman is clearly into Rio*
Rio, making eye contact with Agatha from afar before grabbing the other woman’s chin, saying loudly: Wanda, I was thinking—
Woman: That’s not my name
*Agatha, storming over at an alarming speed*
Rio, turning to the woman: This is the part where I get the best sex of my life~

Chat, I regret to inform you that I have added a new hyperfixation…so…
Agatha All Along Incorrect Quotes!
Alice: Hold the fuck up.
Also Alice, crawling into Lilia’s lap: It’s me. I’m the fuck up. Hold me.
Rio: I have an idea!
Jen: No murder.
Rio, sighing petulantly: I no longer have an idea.
Lilia: I have a bad feeling about this…
Agatha: What do you mean?
Alice: Don’t you ever get that little voice in the back of your head that tells you if something is going to get you in trouble?
Agatha: No.
Jen: That actually explains so much.
Lilia: As far back as I can remember, I’ve always had this little voice in my head telling me to “live it up today, because there’s not gonna be a lot of tomorrows”.
Agatha: You do realize there’s medication designed to get rid of those kinds of voices, right?
Teen: A bird flew in through my window and I’m trying to befriend it.
*later*
Agatha: Why don’t you quit bothering me and go talk to your bird friend?
Teen: Matthew and I are not speaking at the moment.
*the coven, huddling together behind a makeshift shelter to shield themselves from repeated gunshots*
Alice, hastily shoving the others behind her so she can return fire: Agatha, do you have any idea who would want to shoot you?!
Agatha, squashed between Jen and Rio: Many people want to shoot me. I take great pride in that!
Jen, glaring at the group as she hands over bail money:
Alice, tapping her shoulder: What about Teen?
Jen, glaring more: I’ve got to bail him out too? Where’s Agatha?
Teen: No one called her. We used Lilia’s phone call to call Alice and Rio’s to call you. Then Rio used my phone call to vote for American Idol.
Rio: :)
Jen: Rio isn’t answering her phone.
Agatha: Here, I’ll try.
Jen: Alice and I have tried six times each, what makes you think that-
Rio, picking up on the first ring: Hey, sweetheart.
Agatha: The ends always justify the means!
Jen: Do you know who said that?
Agatha: Was it Oprah or someone nice and great like that?
Jen: It was Machiavelli. A decidedly non-Oprah like person.
Jen: I bet you didn’t even finish the thing I asked you to get done!
Agatha: For your information, I most certainly did! Got it done last night!
Teen, whispering to Agatha: You didn’t get it done, did you?
Agatha, whispering back: I don’t even know what she’s talking about.
Lilia: I am at a loss for words!
Teen, glancing at the camera like his mom like he’s on The Office: Despite being lost for words, Lilia yelled at us for the next 45 minutes.
Agatha, carrying Señor Scratchy out of the room:
Señor Scratchy: *snuggles under her chin*
Agatha, kissing his head: You are being punished. Please stop being adorable. I love you.
Teen: I got a trampoline tent for summer sleepovers!
Jen, whispering to the other adult witches: …think of all the sex.
Alice: There are two types of people.
Rio: If you wanted to eat someone, you could put a fire under it and slowly roast them :)
Lilia: …three. Three types of people.
Jen, cautiously: I can’t believe I didn’t notice this before, but…Teen, you are a little crazy.
Teen: Aren’t we all a little crazy here, Jen?
Jen: No, I mean you’re aging-ballerina, child-chess-prodigy, professional magician kind of crazy.
Teen: It’s my mom’s fault. You know, we come from a Jewish family, but she used to tell me the reason Santa didn’t come was because my room was too dirty.
Rio: I’ve come looking for trouble. And if I can’t find trouble, I WILL create some.
Alice: Do you trust me?
Lilia, smiling proudly at her: Yes.
Alice, who has been completely panicking: Wait, what? Why?!
Agatha, awkwardly glancing around for help: Er…Alice, I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know what to say to people who are crying. So I’m just gonna hope that the tone of my voice makes you think I do, okay, sweetie?
Alice, sniffling: …thanks, Agatha.
Agatha, patting her on the back with a bit too much enthusiasm: No problem, kid.
Lilia: I told Agatha about it weeks ago!
Teen: She WHAT?
Agatha: What??? Lilia says insane shit all the time, how was I supposed to know this one was true?!
Lilia: Bank accounts are a sham created by the shadow government!
Agatha: SEE?!
BONUS:
Wanda, watching from the afterlife: so…when exactly do kids grow out of that whole emo, rebellious stage?
Lorna, shrugging: I don’t know. Alice is still in it.

And they were… in trouble
A/n: To get the full experience of this chapter it’s probably best to read part 3 before reading this 😊
Part 3: And they were…lovers. Wait really??
Part 2: And they were…strangers
Part 1: And they were…roommates
Summary: the arguments continue, will they ever solve them? Probably not because they can’t communicate even with Lokis dream
Words: 2K +
Warnings: 18+ Minors DNI angst and sadness, no real reconciliation in this chapter, blood mentions
When Wanda left the house she saw you standing outside the car looking at the ground
“I don’t want to go home yet” Wanda said refusing to get into the car “please Wanda I don’t want to argue let’s just get you home” you got into the car waiting for Wanda but when she just stood there with her arms crossed you rolled your eyes and got back out of the car
“Why are you doing this?”
“You still want me” she said and you rolled your eyes “of course I still want you I mean look at you, even with no sleep, probably a little hungover and the same outfit on as yesterday, I would push you against the wall and bury my head between your thighs and devour you until you tried pushing me away
Wanda gasped “do it then, right now up against the wall between these houses” you approached her holding her waist tight and went to kiss her but pulled away at the last minute “no, now get in the fucking car Wanda, you need to sleep for your classes tomorrow”
Wanda was the one to push you away now “forget it, I’m not getting into the car with you if you’re going to act like this!”
She walked off into the direction she thought was correct, she actually didn’t care she just wanted to leave and you didn’t chase after her, you let your eyes close thinking about everything, fuck-
Loki pushed you to the ground suddenly and you jumped back up throwing him a small dagger hitting him in the neck “what’s your fucking problem?!”
The man discarded the dagger crushing it and throwing it to the ground “I know you saw my dream for you, you saw the exact same thing as Wanda and when she woke up she was thankful, you’re just being an asshole about it!”
“Maybe I don’t appreciate you interrupting my sleep for a stupid teenage fantasy”
Loki scoffed “you loved the dream, I saw you smiling and giggling through certain parts, why are you being so stubborn?”
You eyes darkened to their red colour and you glared at the man “maybe I’ve just realised that being here on earth living with a human in a shitty apartment isn’t what I wanted to do in my death”
Loki laughed pushing you to the ground again “don’t make me laugh, that sappy talk you had with Wanda last night ‘oh I’ve loved you ever since I saw you and when I told you I was a demon and you didn’t run away’ makes me sick, get a fucking grip Y/n either date her and be a happy little demon housewife or finally leave her alone for good”
You were pissed off, who was he to tell you how to live your death and how to be with Wanda, she wasn’t any of his business “go fuck yourself! And don’t you dare mention Wanda again!” You stood up and stormed off into the forest away from Loki
“You need to make up your damn mind!” He shouted to you not that you were paying attention
*************************************************
You were deep enough in the forest now knowing no one would be around or if they were they wouldn’t be for long. Letting yourself kneel to the ground and close your eyes you felt it, the snapping of your spine and feeling the wings emerge from your back, blood running down your back, the feeling of your wings stretching and finally being free after so long
You stood up enjoying the feeling of your wings being free and you let out a happy sigh “oh I’ve missed this” your head throbbed and tore open revealing your spiralling horns
“I’ve missed being a real demon” your mind fogged and you felt all the pain and sadness disappear from your body and you’d never felt more alive, you needed to find someone, you needed to find Valkyrie and have the fun that you deserve.
************************************************
“Y/n?” Lucifer eyed you nervously as you entered the club in your demon form, knowing it hadn’t happened in a while “are you feeling some big feelings? Do we need to have a grown up talk and work out some anger?”
You laughed pushing through the devil and going to the other woman at the bar “hi Val”
“Y/n, you’re looking good” she pulled you into her lap “where’s Carol?” You didn’t really care but you thought it would be pleasant to ask “she’s in hell for a few months so I’m all lonely up here, just waiting for a winged demon with a dark desire in her eyes to take care of me”
You laughed “well here I am, come on I want to go hunting before I devour you, nice and blooded for me” your mouths met in a hot kiss and you groaned finally being kissed properly by a demon and not those plain humans you’ve been kissing but your good time was soon interrupted
“As erotic and as sexual as this is what the fuck is going on?”
You turned your head towards the king of hell “I missed being a demon, now are you coming hunting or are you just being a boring bastard?”
He fake gasped “how dare you of course I want to come hunting, nice to have my favourite demon back”
*********************************************
Wanda had managed to make it home but she didn’t want to go into the house, Natasha had left a note on the door telling her that she’d cleaned up as best she could and ordered her some hangover pizza.
So she lay on the grass outside the house looking up at the sky letting out a really heavy sigh, filled with so much emotion “maybe I should leave her alone, I’ll give her space”
You were interrupted by a rustling in the trees, a figure appearing, was it an animal? Wanda tried making it out and when she did her eyes widened
“What the-Y/n?!”
Wanda jumped back away from you and looked over your monstrous form, the horns, the wings and the blood dripping like rain droplets from your body, she’d never seen you like this
“Oh what a lovely lady you are, Y/n was right you look delicious” Wanda didn’t have time to react before the woman pinned her back down onto her back and looked at you.
“Go on Y/n I’ve got her pinned down she’s not going anywhere, take a drink like you’ve always wanted” Valkyrie had Wanda’s hands held together and even though Wanda was kicking with her legs all you had to do was straddle her to keep her still, so you did, leaning all your weight on her and smiling as some blood dripped onto her body
“Y-Y/n p-please, please don’t hurt me” she tried searching your eyes for any hesitation or remorse but there was nothing, just an empty sea of darkness
“You’ve hurt me so why shouldn’t I hurt you?” The deep gravely voice scared Wanda, yes you were a demon and yes she’d seen you angry but this was a whole new approach that scared her
“I’m sorry for hurting you Y/n please I do want to be with you! Please let’s just figure things out-
“Stop!” Your had enough, you’d had enough of everything she was saying and doing and you were going to take what you deserved
Leaning down to her face your hand gripped her chin pushing her face to side exposing her gorgeous neck, running your fangs over her pulse point made you vibrate, it was so exciting, so you sunk your fangs into her neck her blood filling your mouth and senses and fuck was it wonderful! She was delicious, she’d stopped thrashing and Valkyrie had let go of her hands coming next to you kissing your neck
“vos vultus calidum amica”
When you finally released the grip you had on Wanda you lifted your head and saw Wanda’s face, her pale weak face, oh god what had you done, the fog covering your mind clearing at the worse possible moment
You glared down at what you’d just done, you’d bitten Wanda, you’d taken her blood and now you were watching her slip into unconsciousness, no no! This wasn’t meant to happen you’d never hurt Wanda, even with everything that had happened you didn’t want to hurt her! Or did you? You were just angry and confused on what was going on you weren’t thinking straight
Quickly jumping off of her body and snatching her hands away from Val you picked her up and cradled her in your arms “Wanda Wanda please forgive I didn’t mean to hurt you I never wanted to hurt you like this I’m sorry I’m so so sorry, wake up please wake up”
The demon had never seen you so vulnerable before, in tears over a human, sure she’d heard the stories of you essentially becoming “soft” for the human but never like this “Y/n? Maybe we should take her to the hospital?”
You shook your head gently as if not to wake Wanda “and say What? Here’s a girl and she was bitten by a demon? Oh no its okay no need to file a report I’m the one that did it here have my teeth pictures, no I need to get her to the club, Dr banner will come and fix her”
“He’s not a human doctor-
“Doesn’t matter! I say he’ll fix her so he will!” You held Wanda close as Valkyrie held you both transporting back to the club
**************************************************
“I I don’t know what you want me to do Y/n I can’t fix an human, you’ve bitten her so she’ll probably wake up on her own-
“Leave” you whispered, Bruce, Valkyrie and Lucifer didn’t move
“Leave!” You shouted and the trio quickly left the room, you looked back at Wanda and noticed her shivering “oh my love I’m so sorry, I’m sorry for everything I’m an idiot I saw the dream that Loki made too and I loved it, I loved the build a bear thing that happened and the stupid little name buddy we gave him I-I can’t think of anything to say to help, just please wake up”
Obviously she didn’t wake up but you stayed with her, you refused to leave her side, it was only a couple of hours later when you woke up to some shuffling proving that she woke up “Wanda!”
You smiled but that smile quickly disappeared seeing Wanda’s scared face “Wanda? It’s me you’re safe”
“You bit me, you forcefully sucked my blood” her speech was slow and uneven but her words still hurt you “I-I’m sorry Wanda I was just so angry and confused my demon form took over and I couldn’t stop it” you tried coming closer to Wanda but she stood up from the bed still disoriented but she refused to let you see that
“I saw the dream too Wanda I saw everything-
“Stop. I heard you while I was unconscious, it doesn’t matter, I’m done, I can’t keep dealing with you, I can’t keep trying to be with you when you’re being so stubborn and unreasonable- just I’m going to my parents for a few weeks, they may not approve of most of my decisions but at least they don’t try and fucking kill me”
She left the room and you didn’t try and follow her knowing full well she wouldn’t want you too
Yep you’d definitely fucked all that up, maybe some time would help Wanda
*******************************************
“Wanda you don’t look so good” Natasha had picked Wanda up and per her request was driving her to the train station to go to her parents
Wanda shrugged “I’ve not slept and feeling down, of course I don’t look good
Nat didn’t respond to her angry quip and instead drove in silence finally reaching the station and getting out of the car waiting for Wanda
“Sorry Nat I’m just really stressed0
Nat shrugged “it’s okay you’ve had a bit of a rough time”
Wanda agreed “yeah it’s been terrible, but I hope it’ll get better”
*****************************************************
“Y/n you look terrible” lucifer casually mention as you flopped down onto his couch “yeah well it’s been a fucking rough week alright? So fuck off”
Your head suddenly started to throb and forced you to sit up and grip your head you heard screaming in your head, was it Wanda? Wanda was shouting for you?
“She’s shouting because you bit her and she’s strayed far from you, she’s bound to you forever now, really fucked up there didn’t you?” Lucifer laughed and you groaned
“She’s in so much pain, I’ve never felt pain like it, even my death wasn’t this bad”
“Go after her then, trust me if you leave it the pain will get worse”
************************************************
“Wanda!” Natasha rushed to her side as she threw up on the ground in front of her “Wanda are you okay?!”
The woman shook her head “I need Y/n”
“What?”
“I need Y/n! Fuck it’s hurts so much” her throat was on fire, she didn’t know why she wanted you but in her mind only you could fix her problems, only you could save her, at least that’s what her brain was telling her
Nat looked around in the nearly empty space and spotted a few people trying to hide from helping but then her eyes landed on you, you were here?? How? Did you know she was in pain?
“Nat give me Wanda” the girl shook her head “she said she didn’t want you”
You looked at Wanda who when she finally looked up at you nearly kept out of Nat’s arms “Y/n! Please I need you I don’t know what’s going on but I need to be with you”
“Nat please I don’t want to make a scene, give me Wanda before she collapses okay?”
Nat nodded and handed Wanda to you who wrapped herself around you like a spider monkey finally stopping crying and began falling asleep
“Nat go home, I promise to take care of her, drive safe”
You didn’t wait for an answer and just left with Wanda kissing her forehead “I’m so sorry again Wanda and I’m really sorry for what’s going to happen when you wake up”

Heart's Desire
Summary: In old coven trials, they cast the spell Heart's Desire on their condemned.
The spell manifested a new, illusory world, wherein the condemned were given everything they ever wanted. For a serial killer, the world might be full of victims for them to tear apart, or it could show a world where the trauma that triggered their sequence of murders never existed. It's believed that the original purpose of the spell was to provide empathy for the condemned, but by the time it was used on Agatha, its more common use was one of punishment.
To learn what the condemned wanted most and then to make sure that they never gained it.
For a long time, no one realized that living through the spell and coming out the other side was often torture enough, and once they did, the Heart's Desire was considered a last resort.
This realization occurred roughly a hundred years before the spell was used on Agatha.
Her mother just didn't care.
Rating: T.
AO3
“Oh, no,” Agatha whispers as she walks into the room. Her fingers hook into the threads of magic surrounding her – surrounding all of them – and cling to it as though that will soothe her, as though that will make her feel better. She looks towards it, even though it has no physical form, and her gaze drifts through the magic on which she is focusing to where Rio stands beyond it, even though she doesn’t see her. “Not again.”
She knows the spell.
In this moment, just as it falls about them, Agatha knows the spell. She can taste it in the air, just as she can taste the counter-spell on her tongue. It isn’t an easy spell; it isn’t an easy counter. The coven would need to help her stop it before it takes root in their minds, before it encompasses them, before it becomes so much harder to leave.
But she knows the spell.
Agatha says nothing, and she lets it wash over her.
~
When Agatha was eighteen years old, her first coven put her on trial. She’d reached too far above her station, they said, and she deserved to be punished for her sins, no matter what reasoning she’d had to reach for that knowledge. It mattered little how well they all knew of her problems controlling her power and the damage that lack of control caused; maybe they’d been looking for a way to end her ever since she was born. (Her mom certainly had.)
Afterwards, the rumors circulated that Agatha murdered her coven.
No one really cared what came before the murder.
~
The spell encompasses all of them.
It stretches out from Agatha’s heart and ripples outward – unseen and invisible, but an effect all the same – and it takes advantage of her knowledge of the others to grow and expand and engulf them the same way it engulfs her. She doesn’t see them, but she knows that they won’t feel the sharp stabbing spears through them the way she does know, won’t feel their entire brain smoking as what feels like flames flicker on either side of their head.
They aren’t the center.
Agatha is the center.
It draws on her and from her, and she feels herself stretching thinner and thinner until—
~
In old coven trials, they cast the spell Heart’s Desire on their condemned.
The other witches in the coven would carry something on them to remind them that the world they were in and seeing was not the real one, so that they could invoke the counter-spell as soon as they learned what they wanted to learn.
The spell manifested a new, illusory world, wherein the condemned were given everything they ever wanted. For a serial killer, the world might be full of victims for them to tear apart, or it could show a world where the trauma that triggered their sequence of murders never existed – a world where their mother might still be alive, a world where they weren’t abused, a world where their high school sweetheart never left them.
It’s believed that the original purpose of the spell was to provide empathy for the condemned – that more of the worlds seen were something like the latter instead of the former – but by the time it was used on Agatha, its more common use was one of punishment.
To learn what the condemned wanted most and then to make sure that they never gained it.
Sometimes, this took the form of multiple interlacing spells. Sometimes, this meant they were locked away. Sometimes, this meant they were stuck in a family with people who cared about them because for some people, that’s more torturous than anything else. (Sometimes, after growing close to them, they were forced to kill them. Multiple condemned could be dealt with in this manner.)
For a long time, no one realized that living through the spell and coming out the other side was often torture enough.
Once they did, the Heart’s Desire spell was considered a last resort. Worse than that. It’s better to kill the condemned than it is to put them through all of that.
This realization occurred roughly a hundred years before the spell was used on Agatha.
Her mother just didn’t care.
~
Lilia snaps out first.
Agatha is the center, and so the spell builds the others’ illusions based on her unspoken and unconscious assumptions of what they most want might be. She knows quite a lot about magic, but she doesn’t know as much as she pretends to know about each of her so-called coven members, and she certainly doesn’t know much about Lilia Calderu.
Lilia sees through the illusion almost immediately.
Almost.
She has never personally been under the Heart’s Desire, but she has been one who cast it, centuries before Agatha was born, before anyone understood what it meant. As a result, she still remembers the spell to protect herself, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still shed a single tear when she dispels the illusion surrounding her and makes herself little more than a spectator.
Agatha might know much about her, but she knows enough for it to hurt.
She does not hold this against her. Agatha is not the one who cast the spell; the Road did. She didn’t choose this torture.
No one would.
~
Agatha tries not to think about the time she spent under the spell during her Salem trial.
None of it was real after all.
But she remembers how nice it was to have a mother who loved her, to have a full coven who supported her, to have friends among the other daughters of her coven, to be accepted.
If she thinks about it, she misses it.
(And then refuses to say anything about it to anyone else. Her desires sound so pitiful. She has all this magic, all this talent, all of this witchcraft and knowledge. But in the end, when she was a kid, she just wanted to be normal.)
((For a witch, anyway.))
~
Alice sees through the illusion almost as soon as Lilia does – not because the spell isn’t able to mostly accurately predict what Alice most wants, but because she’s already, in a sense, been given that.
The illusion gives Alice her mother back, crafting a world where she never died in that fire, where her music lives on even more than just that Ballad that has haunted her entire life. But it’s the Ballad itself that breaks Alice out; it plays in the background as her mother dances in front of a fireplace, and the music and the flickering flame remind her—
She knows what happened to her mother.
This isn’t it.
When Lilia arrives for her, Alice isn’t ready to leave the illusion, but she does so regardless.
Her entire life, Alice has wanted to protect people. She couldn’t protect her mom. But she can protect the others.
~
Evanora broke the spell.
Evanora said the spell must have been set wrong.
Evanora said there was no way that Agatha wanted a life that she’d always had, if not for her wickedness.
Evanora said a lot of things.
Evanora’s coven believed her.
~
The world created by the Heart’s Desire has layers.
Lilia wants to get Teen first – like Alice, he wouldn’t know about the spell and certainly wouldn’t know how to break himself out of it if he caught what was going on – but he was closest to Agatha when the spell was set, still closest to Agatha in terms of the world they inhabit.
And there’s a darkness there.
Something she can’t see.
Alice wants to stay behind, to see if she can cut through to get to him, but Lilia counters. Three witches are better than two.
They find Jen glorying in her power. It takes Alice’s protection spells to break her out. Even still, Jen doesn’t want to believe them, but she listens when Lilia gives her a small test – if she sets the counter-spell, then that proves the illusion one way or the other. Jen doesn’t change her mind, but she says the spell anyway.
She cries when her magic is ripped from her again.
~
Evanora doesn’t want to try the Heart’s Desire spell again. Someone did it wrong – or maybe Agatha herself is the one screwing it up, the same way that her natural magic screws everything else up. Since they can’t figure out what she wants most, they should blast her. They should end her the way that covens have been ending problematic, murderous, evil witches from the very beginning.
Because they refuse to believe what they saw as spectators, they don’t realize that in attempting to murder Agatha, they are doing exactly the opposite of what she wants.
Torture on torture on torture.
(She’s so tired.)
~
The three spectating witches look at darkness.
Lilia suggests that the sigil prevents them from seeing Teen’s desires the same way that it prevents them from knowing his name or anything personal about him.
Jen says that’s foolish – the spell is centered on Agatha, who knows just as much about Teen as they do and who certainly wouldn’t be able to provide the spell with enough information to give him anything remotely correct for what he might possibly want. None of them could. The sigil shouldn’t prevent them from seeing lies.
Alice pushes past both of them into the darkness because saving Teen is more important than trying to figure out why they can’t see shit.
~
Agatha’s son is dating another boy.
She hasn’t met him yet – in point of fact, Nicholas hasn’t said anything about it yet – but she can tell.
A mother can always tell.
~
Jen says it would probably be better if they called Teen by something other than Teen. If they don’t use his real name, how can he even hear them?
Alice ignores her. She’s taking in the monochromatic grayscale surrounding them as the darkness shifts more from a black void into what might as well be the colors of an old TV sitcom. Before her grandmother died, she’d introduced them to some of the old shows she’d used to learn English, saying lines as the characters did and laughing, smiling. The fact that Teen seems to now be living in one – she can only assume, since she can’t see anything else – and that Agatha seems to think that’s what he wants more than anything—
It makes her uncomfortable, if she’s honest about it.
(She won’t say that to the others. They wouldn’t get it.)
Lilia catches sight of Teen first. She points him out, gestures to the others, and then stops. Is that other boy with him his boyfriend?
~
Agatha sighs as she shares lunch and tea with her mother. It’s a constant weekly event: every Wednesday, lunch and tea with her mom. So they can catch up. Sometimes they meet more often than that, when they want to see each other or when something bad happens, but that hasn’t been the case in a while.
She confides her worries about Nicholas with her.
Worries is maybe the wrong word. She’s not worried about him. She just doesn’t understand why he won’t come out and say what’s going on with her. It’s not like she would mind. Has he met her?
Her mother just laughs. She reminds Agatha that she hadn’t wanted to tell her she was dating a girl either.
Agatha smiles, snide, and runs her finger along the lip of her teacup. It wasn’t that she hadn’t wanted to tell her mother she was dating a girl. She hadn’t wanted to tell her she was dating—
~
Teen won’t listen to them.
Teen can’t see them.
It’s entirely possible that Teen can’t hear them, either, so it’s not intentional that he isn’t listening to them. With no way of seeing what he’s seeing – other than the boy he’s with, a boy that he calls Nicholas – they have no way of inserting themselves in the world he’s seeing. They aren’t spectators here. They can’t reach him.
Alice volunteers to stay with him while the other two go on ahead, but Lilia says a witch with protective magic will be of particular use when they speak with Agatha. Jen suggests that Lilia stay behind, but Lilia chastises her – Jen hadn’t been able to realize her own illusion was just that, and she wouldn’t have known the counter-spell if Lilia hadn’t taught it to her. Of the three of them, Lilia has the most experience.
Jen stays behind, while the other two go on ahead.
~
Agatha’s wife tugs on her sleeve.
They need to go. Coven meeting, after all, and Agatha can’t miss that.
Agatha doesn’t ask how Rio got there so quickly, how she just appeared as though she’d been there the entire time. She had been there the entire time; she was just very good about not being seen until – or unless – she wanted to be seen.
Rio kisses her.
They need to go.
Now.
Agatha glances over to her mother, and her heart aches. She doesn’t understand why it should. Life has always been like this. Life will always be like this. She’ll see her next week – or sooner, if she wants. It’s okay to leave.
Rio mentions that Nicholas said something to her about bringing someone over to meet them.
Agatha leaves immediately.
~
Rio is never under the spell, or if she was, she’s already broken it by the time Alice and Lilia show up. Alice glares at her – if she’s been out all this time, then why hasn’t she gotten Agatha out yet? Only one of them is necessary for that, right? They could have been done with this shit.
But Rio just shrugs. It’s not her call.
Lilia’s brow furrows – she guesses something; she sees something – but whatever she guesses or sees, she doesn’t say. It’s a suspicion, nothing more. The more important thing is the smile on Agatha’s face that looks so weird and wrong there because it’s a happy smile, and it’s only on seeing this one that she and Alice have to realize that none of the others have been real.
Agatha invites them inside. There’s a coven meeting. Her son should be joining them.
Her son? Alice mouths as they follow Agatha inside, but Lilia doesn’t meet her eyes. She’s heard the rumors, and she’s not surprised.
To be quite honest, Lilia isn’t surprised with anything they see spiraling out from Agatha. A happy home. A happy marriage. It’s possible she noticed an older witch leaving the illusion – perhaps Agatha’s mother. That was the other thing about the Heart’s Desire spell: more often than not, what people most wanted was this. Most people didn’t want global reign or infinite power or everyone dead at their feet. What they really wanted was—
There doesn’t need to be a knock at the door, but there is.
Lilia turns, sees Jen outside the window with wide and frustrated eyes, and makes the connection first.
She makes the wrong connection, of course, but she makes the connection nevertheless.
~
Agatha opens the door to Jen – another coven member, running later than normal, but she was likely preoccupied with someone who needed her magical expertise, and she says as much, not noticing the cringe on Jen’s face, since she’s focused on someone else.
Nicholas.
Agatha brushes her hands through her son’s dark hair as his bright blue eyes shift from her to the boy he’s brought with him. He introduces her – she doesn’t recognize the name, and she turns to the teen with an eyebrow raised. Then she recognizes who he is: Wanda’s magical boy. She beams.
They’ll be building a coven of their own soon, so it’s perfect that they’ve found each other. It’s always better to know that there’s someone in your coven that you can trust from the start, so that you won’t be alone.
Wanda’s boy says Wanda won’t be joining them today. Some sort of superhero business with his robot dad.
That’s fine. They can continue without her.
~
The other witches can only stare as Agatha has a conversation with Teen and Nicholas that they cannot hear.
Jen’s eyes narrow. This is proof, after all, that Agatha must have set the sigil. She’s the only one who is able to communicate with Teen within the world that he’s created, so—
Lilia doesn’t think that’s true. Whatever world is in is one of Agatha’s own creation, spiraling out from the Heart’s Desire spell. Of course, she would be able to speak through it to Teen. It’s centered on her—
Alice just wants to know how they break the thing. She turns to Rio and then to Lilia. One of them has to know. Spill.
~
The first crack comes.
Agatha tucks her fingers into the magic she always feels all around her.
It feels wrong.
It’s felt wrong for the past several….
Oh, she knows better. This spell doesn’t care about time, so however much she thinks has passed, it’s probably not correct.
Agatha tucks her fingers into the magic and feels the lie again and feels the others trying to snap it. To snap her out of it. But the Road has changed the spell; she feels that, too. So when she looks up with the light in her eyes, she reaches out, finds the thread tied around Teen’s neck like a noose, and snaps it.
He wakes.
His brows furrow.
Teen says he was home. Like nothing ever changed.
Agatha smiles. That’s the spell. She wants to reach out and cup his face, but she doesn’t. Instead, she tells him to leave.
He refuses – says he won’t leave her—
That’s not the point.
Agatha looks to the others. They see. One by one, they leave, guided by a Lilia who knows exactly what has to happen and who knows that whatever it is, they don’t want to see it. She places a hand gentle on Teen’s back and leads him out. It takes a moment, but then Jen follows. She’s curious, but not that curious. Alice hesitates, gaze landing on Rio. Isn’t she going to leave? Why do they have to leave?
Rio meets her eyes. They have to leave because Agatha doesn’t want them to see. She gets to stay because Agatha wants her to stay.
When Alice is gone and the door’s shut tight behind her, Rio turns to Agatha. She doesn’t say anything.
Agatha turns to Nicholas and holds him to her chest.
(She knew, she knew, she knew, she knew, but a few stolen seconds under this stupid, stupid spell is better than nothing.)
((She’d stay here if she could.))
She takes Nicholas’s neck in her hands.
Takes a deep breath—
~
Teen hears the sharp snap of broken bone and looks up just in time to see Agatha staring at him through the windowpane, her son’s neck shattered in her hands.
~
Agatha tells him later, when she knows that he’s Billy, why the spell felt so familiar to him. It’s the base of the one Wanda used to create the Hex, making the world her own Heart’s Desire.
Billy’s brow furrows.
He doesn’t ask about Nicholas.

The Accidental Baby Trap Incident
Summary: About four years after the events of First Class, Erik arrives at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters with two little twins who he didn't know existed. Thinking he doesn't know what to do, he runs to Charles, not knowing the state his old friend is in.
Snippet 3
[prev] [next]
the next morning, erik tiredly takes the twins down to the kitchen, providing them a breakfast of orange juice, apple slices, and toast with butter. he drinks three cups of black coffee and eats a single apple slice. without him there, and with charles in a state, hank has forgone actual coffee for instant like a savage. it might as well be mud as far as erik is concerned.
"i hate toast," pietro tells him and briefly erik wonders how anyone could hate toasted bread.
erik sighs beleagueredly, "when i was young, i'd be grateful for any meal- wanda, do not turn your brother's toast into something else."
"yeah, i don't if i can do that again," she admits sheepishly, pulling the hand that was about to tap her brother's toast away, "i kinda don't know how i did it to the cookies."
"you're young. i didn't know how to master my own mutation till i was older and even then, sometimes i still needed help," erik assures her. wanda happily munches on her apples after that. pietro rolls his eyes.
he cleans up everything, wondering just how to start this day. it wasn't as if his children were full grown adults who he could toss into the danger room. he did not know where to begin training seven year olds. most mutants didn't even manifest until puberty... but his kids were early bloomers.
as he picks up breakfast, he hears footsteps coming around the corner. at first, he assumes it's hank. perhaps the other actually decided to emerge out of his lab at a reasonable hour. but hank walks with a heavy footstep from his mutation. these steps are light, stilted.
"oh!" he hears charles say, "well, uh, hello you two."
"you're the guy who punched dad!" laughs pietro, "you got 'im good!"
erik turns, "pietro-"
charles kneels down to speak with the children at eye level in their chairs, "he told me you have mutations of your own. what can you both do?"
"i run fast!" pietro exclaims before dashing out of his chair, leaving charles' hair whipping against his face. after a mere moment, he comes back with an empty glass which he offers to erik, "here, dad, you can wash this too."
"very impressive," charles tells him and pietro beams.
erik takes the glass as charles stares at it briefly before turning his attention back to the children. most likely it had come from his room. he turns and smiles at wanda.
"and you, little one?" he asks her.
"my powers are kinda funny," she admits, "i usually just use them to hold pietro in place or make things float when i get upset. but i turned snicker-whatevers into chocolate chip cookies yesterday."
finally, charles looks at erik, clear realization of just why erik has come to him finally dawning on him. pietro would grow to be an ordinary mutant, one who would need training and would excell, but not right away. wanda was like nothing they had ever seen before. charles turns back to her, nodding, and squeezing her little hands.
"that's very special. you both are," he tells her and then turns to pietro before moving back to look at both of them, "how about you two go and play in the yard? i have a tire swing out there you might like."
they both cheer and wanda looks at erik, "can we, papa?"
"go ahead. just don't go past the tree," he says. they promise, not that he trusts pietro to abide by that promise. but they both take each other's hands and dash off at wanda's speed.
charles stands, moving to make his own coffee, "they're lovely children… you never told me."
"i didn't know," erik replies, "magda didn't want my life for them."
"doesn't surprise me. vengenance, death of humanity and all that," charles murmurs as he pulls out a mug.
erik notices that he did shower at some point between their arguement and now. his hair lacks the grease and the smell has disappated in favor of the soap charles prefers. even years later, he could smell that soap and know charles was near.
"i don't understand her power," erik cuts to the chase, "i assumed she was telekinetic. and then one day she changed the color of her shirt by wishing it. and now the cookies."
"…you're scared of her," charles says, looking at him again. erik wants to die beneath that gaze.
"i'm scared of what others might do to her."
charles digs out one of the chocolate chip cookies from the pantry, erik resisting his desire to glibly remind charles that those are not a breakfast food. he sniffs it, stares at it before taking a bite and nodding in odd approval. at least his daughter didn't turn them into cookies that tasted bad.
"i suppose we shouldn't be surprised considering just how powerful her father is," charles says absently.
"perhaps only surpassed by a child of yours," hums erik, tiredly. imagning a child with equal or greater telepathic ability to charles is rather insane. he is perhaps the strongest telepath they know, even more powerful than emma.
charles laughs dismissevly, "that will never happen. i was careful before and i don't want one. i never did."
"you opened a school."
"yes. for school aged children with mutations like your children," he reminds erik, tone clipped as he stares at the coffee carafe filling up, "not babies. i shouldn't- it's one thing to teach children, it's another to raise them."
erik goes quiet. that he at least agrees with. at least he had a good example, but he knows a little about charles and raven's upbringing. mostly, frustratingly, from raven. charles knew everything about erik, yet charles hid his life, his pain from him constantly. even raven didn't speak much on their life outside of their inattentive mother who charles loved deeply anyway.
"hank invited me to stay the night after wanda changed the cookies," erik explains, quietly, too awkward. it's so strange to lack the helmet, but have charles in his arm's reach, yet not feel the other sharing his mind, knowing his thoughts. he would never let anyone else do that, "but we can leave."
charles shakes his head, "no. clearly we at least need to figure out what wanda's mutation is. do your- does raven know about them?"
"no," erik explains, "i haven't told any of them. to be honest, i've gone totally radio silent on them. i need to rectify that. give them some lie to keep them passive."
"you're the one who divided us," charles huffs, "it's not like they can tell you no. are you telling me you don't trust angel and raven with your kids?"
"i do," erik assures, "but we have other things on our plate. riptide is… missing. i had him investigating some possible mutants in vietnam and he's disappeared."
"disappeared?" reiterates charles, "should i be concerned? sean and alex were deployed early into this mess."
erik feels his heart speed up, "deployed?"
"sean got drafted," charles explains, "alex decided to enlist so he wouldn't have to go alone."
"and you let them just go? with the military?" erik snaps, "well, of course you did. you would. you and your peace."
"don't turn this into something it isn't," huffs charles, "i hadn't been taking the serum them. i asked sean if he wanted me to try and get him rejected. he told me no. they wouldn't be in any danger if you hadn't turned a million missiles on the government in cuba!"
"what you have always failed to see charles is that we were always in danger!"
charles turns on him rapidly, "not every human is the kind that hurt you."
"it is only a matter of time before they become them," erik snaps, leaving the dried dishes in a rack so he isn't tempted to throw them.
he can feel every knife in the shelf. their fields pull at him. the fridge feels like an atomic bomb, each little component awaiting his command. feeling the push and pull of the fields is his life, its his very nature. just as minds were charles'. but he's shut them out. where normally his feelings would be blaring loudly in charles' mind, he imagines himself as a giant black void to the former telepath.
how can it not be like losing a limb? then, of course, charles lost his legs. erik has lost so many things in his lifetime. his home, his safety, his parents, his autonomy… even charles himself. but he has never lost part of himself. even if they put him in a plastic cube, he could feel the push of magnets where the could not reach them.
"if that's true, then it is because you believe it so," charles replies, taking the carafe and pouring it into a mug.
instead of going for sugar or cream, charles grabs whiskey, angrily dumping it into the bitter drink. erik snatches it fromt he counter.
"i think you have had enough," erik tells him before dumping the entire mug down the drain.
"erik! goddamn you!" charles growls, shoving him almost childishly. his punch had been lucky and he never really had the stomach for true violence.
he takes charles' wrists, holding them tightly as he glares, "i said i think you've had enough."
"you do not get to waltz in here and pretend like we're still friends," charles writhes his wrists angrily, "you stopped being the erik i knew the minute you killed shaw!"
"shaw had to die!" erik replies, baring his teeth. sean had once teased him for his smile being shark-like, but he certainly feels it now. he feels like an angry animal with prey between its jaws, "you will never understand! do you think an absent mother compares at all to things he did to me?!"
charles attempts to kick him in the knee, but erik is stronger and while he doesn't let go, he does fall forward, pressing himself against charles and the counter. as he goes to start shouting again, he notices charles is shaking. he does not look like a frightened doe as one might expect from a doe-eyed man.
instead, he is defiant. there is fear in his eyes, something old, something that has nothing to do with erik. but in the face of erik's anger, charles does not waiver. his body betrays him, but he holds a brave face, a stalwart indignation like an immovable ship, anchored to a seafloor.
the first time erik had kissed charles, they had been sharing a bed as they went to meet sean. all of the two-bed rooms had been booked which left them with either one of them on the floor or both in the bed. originally, erik had planned to take the floor, but charles had pulled him up into the bed.
"you don't think about me the way most people do," charles whispered, the only light coming the street lamps flickering outside, "i don't mean to pry. i can't help it sometimes."
"what do you mean?"
charles smiled softly, rolling his eyes, "you'd think it very silly i imagine. but you always think my eyes are a different shade of blue. it's like you can't decide how to describe them. but you notice them when you think i'm being particularly clever."
erik had blushed, his very obvious feelings being laid bare by the telepath in bed with him. he had admired charles from the minute they had met. how could he not admire the first man to tell him he wasn't alone? the man who had saved his life?
"it helps that you are usually particularly clever when you're not being particularly foolish," erik managed to reply.
this time charles blushed, looking away. his teeth pierced those already pretty red lips slightly. oh. that bastard. he knew what he was doing.
"are you going to do anything about it if i am?" charles asked, apparently not realizing he was reading erik's thoughts. or, if he did, he clearly did not care.
they were so young then. their powers still felt so fresh and untrained, even when they had more control than most. a few items shuddered at that moment when erik did.
ignoring them, he ran a hand up charles' neck to cup his cheek, "i think i'm going to kiss you."
"oh, i very much hope you do."
kissing charles xavier had been so soft. both of them had considered sex that night, but had instead enjoyed the gift of exploring the other's mouth. later, erik would realize charles had been hoping for this because he tasted particularly like gum. he had pressed kisses along soft lips, nipped until charles' lips were swollen, they had gone for each other until both were breathless.
charles had let out soft little gasps and moans. erik had worshipped his lips, his cheeks, his neck. they were like two demigods, entangled, high priests of the other's temple. erik had wanted to devour charles whole. he'd been smooth, kind, gentle, but mischevious. that moment was a fairytale.
this is not like that.
this was a nightmare. from the minute erik's teeth had clicked against charles' own, he knew that it was. there was none of their old kindness to be had. erik hated charles' scratchy beard. he hated that charles clearly no longer knew what he wanted, instead fighting for dominance of the kiss. erik had at first pulled away only for charles to pull him back, bruise his lips, bite his tongue.
erik presses charles back harder, taking back his tongue and shoving it down charles' throat. he wants to choke him with it, he wants to make sure he can't breathe. their teeth click again when charles mirrors the tilt of his head as they both try to deepen the kiss.
did charles want to suffocate as much as erik hopes to do so?
erik pulls back when charles' breath doesn't stop despite that, tugs fiercely on his lip with his teeth. those paled lips look almost back to their former glory, but he even such ferocity has not revived their blushed hues.
"i hate you," charles whispers, voice cracking, bitter, "i hate you."
"the feeling, old friend," erik snaps mockingly, "is mututal."
they dive back in anyway, charles finally breaking a hand free to claw down erik's back. nail marks redden beneath erik's shirt. the action also earns him a hardening in erik's pants, making him smirk against the larger man's lips. instead of giving him what he's asking for, erik wraps a hand around charles' throat.
"if i did not need you," he snarls before trailing off, "do you know how easy it would be?"
it would not be easy. erik isn't even pressing down against charles' neck. all he is doing is holding it, the grip barely there. but- but it changes something in charles' expression. the fear that had disappeated returns. suddenly nails claw at his hand.
"let go, erik, let go."
"i thought you hated me. didn't you expect this?" asks erik, voice mournful as it settles in once again that charles simply does not know what he thinking. how he could never hurt charles like that again.
"please," charles suddenly begs, voice desperate, "please, erik, let me go."
erik backs away like he's been burned, charles turning quickly on his heels as he gasps for air as if erik had been truly choking him. he's running as best that his legs, still stilted, still obviously not walking the way humans with functional spines walk, can take him. without meaning to, he shoves past hank who has finally emerged for breakfast.
hank looks at erik, "what the fuck did you do?"

The Avengers as High School Friend Group Archetypes
Tony Stark: Mentally ill friend. Made too many suicide jokes so his friends forced him into therapy. Flakes out on plans a lot. Either has a God complex or the worst self-esteem known to humankind. Freaks everyone out when he texts goodbye in the gc without context (he's just going on a business trip)
Bucky Barnes: Black cat. Hisses at everyone but Steve. Great at holding his boundaries but comes off aloof. Nobody is sure if he actually likes them but would secretly kill for all his friends. Hides in shadows and jumpscares everyone with his lurking. Secretly naps on Sam's bed when no one's looking
Steve Rogers: Mom friend. Always has granola bars, Tylenol, and a Tide to Go on him. Organizes the group hangouts and reminds everyone when they have a dentist appointment. Everyone's parents love him, "you can go if Steve's going" vibe. Constantly getting his friends out of trouble (secretly encourages them). His romantic life is a disaster
Thor Odinson: Gym bro. Eats eggs, chicken and rice everyday. Forces his friends to join him in the gym and comments about them not eating enough protein. Genuinely cares for their health, will get them out of bed for food and fresh air when they're sad. Goes through protein powder like Tony went through cocaine in the 80s
Peter Parker: Annoying little brother. Someone's mom definitely made them bring him to the big kid hangout. Everyone bullies him but he doesn't realize it, he just likes the attention from the cool older kids. Sam and Bucky hold him upside down from his ankles till he gets dizzy and Steve makes them put him down. Everyone is super protective of him when he's outside the friend group (hey, only we get to be mean to him)
Sam Wilson: Therapist friend. Gets way too many texts at 3 am. Extremely emotionally mature but laughs at fart jokes. Knows everyone's trauma and will use it against them if provoked. Strangers randomly vent to him in public. Gentle parents adults when they're upset. Nobody ever asks him how he is
Natasha Romanoff: Man hater. All her best friends are men and none of them are actually sure if she's joking about hating them. Mean but never takes things too far. Flirts constantly because she thinks it's funny but is really awkward and bad at it when she genuinely likes someone. Hates when someone treats her like a man / "one of the bros", wishes she had more female friends
Bruce Banner: Bad luck friend. Can not catch a break. Everytime they hear from him something new has gone wrong in his life. His dog threw up on his bed, his computer broke before a huge deadline, his favourite sweater shrunk in the dryer. Just a disaster of a human. Constantly has some minor injury, from inexplicable bruises to a sprained wrist. Never having a good day but tries to remain positive. Anxious
Clint Barton: Class clown. Will make a fool of himself in front of every pretty girl in his vicinity. Is actually only funny half the time, the other half he's just loudly wrong. Confidence is key for him. Can charm and talk his way out of anything. Will make everyone laugh at the worst moments. Women reject him because he has a girl best friend
Wanda Maximoff: Boy crazy. Is ready to talk about her crush, boyfriend, or situationship at any given moment. Is never single for longer than a month. Will not take shit from a man and makes sure her and her friends are treated properly. Surprisingly good at balancing her friendships and relationships, doesn't neglect people. Has Pinterest boards for her wedding, dream home, and decor. Wants to be a stay at home mom. Big Swiftie and went to the Eras Tour
Pietro Maximoff: Unemployed friend. Always doing the most random thing on a Tuesday morning. One day he's kayaking in British Columbia, the next he's joined an MLM scam. He has a new cat? He adopted him from Istanbul on that trip no one knows about. He's drinking fresh lemonade? He actually volunteers with disabled elderly and Doris gives him lemons from her tree. Knows how to cook a turkey. Unclear if he's homeless or not, usually sleeping on a friend's couch or at a random woman's place (still on the couch)

the love i have for yelena belova as a character esp in black widow is crazzzyyy but i cant talk about it too loudly because then the mcu fandom might hear me and show up. but like... she knows how to lock it down when she has to, because she was trained as well as any other widow, but the second she isn't doing that she's just feeling everything so deeply and passionately. she's dialed up to 100% all the time - her anger, her sarcasm, her pain, her excitement, her sheepishness. she just cannot possibly contain everything she is inside of her - or would rather share it of her own free will than have it taken by force. and every second natasha spends around her you can kind of see wonder opening up her face, like. how are you like this. how did you survive like this when i abandoned you to this fate. we already know natasha immediately post-escape was ruthless and cold and it took her so much time with clint and with the team to get to the place she's at in black widow where she's ready to show vulnerability and be a softer person. and then her little sister who literally JUST escaped is sitting in front of her dumping all of it out on the table and daring everyone to do something about it. it's a beautiful character contrast and it's fucking gutting. it's brilliant.

Fans of White characters on Tumblr have this incredible gift of making you gradually hate a character you loved by acting like that character has never done anything wrong in their lives, even thought there is clear evidence they have.
They'll talk about forgiveness, about growth, about how it all happened in the past and how everyone makes mistakes and deserve a second chance but you'll never see them extend the same courtesy to non-White characters.

Seen this floating around twitter and I think we need to property address the MCU fans insistence that comic Wanda is only revenant because of the MCU.
Like MCU fans really double down hard on the MCU version brining wanda out of comic obscurity but
(1) Wanda had been active on comics since Children's crusade in 2010 and had her own solo which in ballsy move emphasised her Romani heritage at the time Age of Ultron and the MCU version came out. She was very much active and thriving at the time of the comics. She had also already redeemed herself for HoM in events like the children's crusade and Avengers Vs X-Men. Her redemption and the return of the mad women trope came after Axis and the MCU version which walked all this development back to coincide with MCU Scarlet Witch being more villianous and the bringing of mutants into the MCU.
(2) Wanda has been an Avenger for over 59 years of her history. She was the second ever woman to join the avengers and was on its second roster (arguably in terms of memorability the Kooky Quartet eclipses the original team and is what helped the Avengers cement themselves as one of the big leagues). At the time of the AOU movie she was a core member of the first iteration of the Uncanny Avengers team
(2) Wanda and Pietro were such significant and popular characters that two movie studios were fighting to have them in their movies. Something that they would not have bothered with if they were obscure characters. The comics themselves made fun of this in a Scotty Young illustrated comic. The twins might have actually been amongst some of the most mainstream on their debut. How many would have had even a passing knowledge of them from the cartoons or of their connection to Magneto? Certainly more than many would have to Black widow or Hawkeye or even Iron Man to an extent!
(3) the MCU is the reason she was retconned into not being a mutant and thus made her fair game to be referred to as the pretender. This if anything is an example of how the MCU really damaged her in the comics because once she stopped being part of the mutants she became one of the "oppressors" (nevermind the implications of attaching that to a Romani Jewish woman) and so was opened up to being demonised more by X writers.
(4) the character is called a real life slur by the actress and the studios which is worse
(5) the bad castings conversations were opened up about the twins race leading to more ernest attempts at representation and conversations about the twins heritage down the line but it shouldn't have happened in the first place and those conversations likely would have happened if they cast Romani actors. The MCU would have also gotten props for actually committing to it's promises of diversity.
Yes the popularity of the MCU version gave the character a boost, opened up some conversations and brought new fans in for good and for ill. However to attribute all Wanda's success to the MCU version is a fallacy and exaggeration. Ultimately I feel the MCU did more to hurt rather than help the character.

Im really enjoying the Agatha show for now, but wanda maximoff, kate bishop and billy kaplan are my favorite comic book characters of all time and if they treat billy the way they treated wanda in doctor strange 2 and kate in the hawkeye show i will go there and personally assassinate whoever did it
#i really didn't give a fuck about the mcu for a while until this show came out#they better not fuck it up#i did enjoy kate in Hawkeye but like. so much of her character was deleted to make her a comic relief side character#im definitely not a comic accuracy purist#but i hate it when they take all the depth and the best trates out of the characters so they can keep having the cishet white guys shine#and don't get me started on the antisemitism in the mcu lmao#like i understand not mentioning wanda and pietro are jewish bc they don't have magneto there#but they have literally no reason to delete billys judaism and i definitely feel like they're gonna do it#and i bet they choose to not introduce hulkling at all to avoid the gay storyline (aka. the main romance storyline of the young avengers.)#anyway fuck disney🫶🫶🫶#agatha all along#billy kaplan#wanda maximoff#oh and they also absolutely mistreated america to but it doesn't matter to me as much bc i dont like her as much as the others#and also i kinda prefer the og young avengers team/ comic run then the one with america and bucky#anyway#marvel cinematic universe#i feel like at this point its better if they don't introduce magneto at all bc#a. they can never make a better version of him then the ex men movies allredy did#b. theyre gonna be all like “haha no whats auschwitz theres no antisemitism in the mcu”#anyway tag rant is doneeeee#nvm that#would like to stress im genuinely enjoying the show#all the acting is very good#and the main characters and premise are very cool and enjoyable

still nutty to me how people's legit trauma from things that main characters do are just swept under the rug or mocked. william kaplan, a thirteen year-old boy who didn't do anything, is killed in a car accident and no one even knows because billy/teen took over his body (i'm not blaming him at all i doubt it was on purpose, but a boy did die and no one knows). sharon davis was roped along to the road, mocked the entire time, killed, and then mocked some more. ralph bohner is the closest we get to someone actually saying "what happened was a nightmare and it fucked me up," but even his story is full of jokes that are only made tragic because evan peters is delivering them in such a way that it's clear that it's because he's that mentally unhinged from what happened. the mcu is a place where people get hurt and are made fun of because they couldn't stop it
#what's crazy is that you could say that of any superhero movoe slash franchise but i don#'t think i've ever seen movies go out of there was to mock and shame the normal people who got hurt#quite like this#it's really mean-spirited#during evan peters bit i was kinda impressed because they were stressing that it was a nightmare what wanda did#but instead of him just going 'agatha made me her personal puppet and made me do horrible things against my will'#he also needed to mention that... he was a bad influence on wanda's kids? why would he care?#aside from just being a better person than literally anyone else#but it felt more like he said that because wanda made herself the main character in everyone's lives#i really don't get it#agatha all along#anti wanda maximoff

Title: Store Bought Is Fine, Homemade Is Better
Rating: T
Summary: Wanda's finger was back, pointing at Agatha with an intensity known only to mothers. “You bought them a trebuchet, Agatha!”
Agatha slapped her hand away, rolling her eyes. “I did not. They helped Rio build it! I know that insufferable Ina Garten says store bought is fine but this is homemade!”
#this is so very unserious#agatha all along#agatha harkness#rio vidal#wanda maximoff#agatha all along fanfic#agathario#alice wu gulliver#honorable mentions of jenn and lilia and senor scratchy. they show up by text. and by snitching

understanding agatha's history with nicky makes her bitching at wanda in wandavision even funnier. like can she really talk abt wanda joining a terrorist group when the literal second after she buried her son she started up a two-centuries long serial-killing pyramid scheme
#agatha baby you're just as bad at processing grief#not to mention she stole the most fucked up book in reality so she cld ghost her ex-wife#like they're probably on par. with bad decisions made bc of Feelings#agatha harkness#wanda maximoff#agatha all along
