L, u, c, k, y, S, t a , r
hello thank you i love you but I’m very long winded so this is under a cut so it doesn’t block large chunks of everyone’s dash.
A: How did you come up with the title to [insert fic]?
For as ridiculously obvious and uncreative as it is, it took me months. Longer than months. At least a year of it stewing in the back of my head that while I was getting a coherent timeline down, and a prequel/groundwork laid out so that the story will work, my long form story would still need a title.
I had been using space/star themed titles and phrases for most of the fics and ficlets I was writing for them and just said fuck it and used Ellen Ripley’s lullaby for it.
C: What character do you identify with most?
any character that’s currently having an emotional breakdown or suffering from a “how the fuck did I get in this mess and how the fuck do I get out of it?” situation.
In the chapter I’m currently writing I’m more with Conner and Verlaine on “I’m done with this fucking job goodbye,” but there’s something earlier where Chris smiled and would have blushed if he could becuase Amanda and him had the same opinion on a movie and that’s something my affection-starved soul would have done.
H: How would you describe your style?
bad.
Personal writing/original fic has a lot of purple prose, and I’m first to admit that I don’t put half the time/effort into style with fanfic that I do original work. I think my fanfic might come off as dry or fast-paced. Still, I hope it’s got something emotional to it, and eventually some kind of complexity of character.
K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
Either:
That after Amanda’s death Samuels realizes he can just....live through memories but walking through them, and he’ll replay days, weeks at a time to avoid the overwhelming error messages and glitches and pain that come with accepting the fact that she’s gone. He stops taking care of updates and is torn between hoping to just stop entirely and wanting to stay as some kind of memorial of her/becuase she made him promise he’d go on living without her.
OR
Amanda makes him promise that, but fuck that, he goes against her wishes, her express orders and when she’s at her sickest has her put into a shell, preserved in a synthetic body, now so close to what he is, and maybe she’ll be angry but he doesn’t care. He thinks that it’s better she hates him forever, but is still living in the same universe as him than for him to exist every moment knowing that she no longer does. It’s the first time Amanda realizes he’s capable of selfishness, even if he views it as selfish of her to rather die and leave him alone than try this method.
L: What’s the weirdest AU you’ve ever come up with?
It will never happen in Lucky Star/the main AU, and I’ll probably never write it but the idea that there’s some test tube/clone/scienced together way that Amanda could have a kid that would be considered “his” is cute.
I don’t think it’s something that they’d go after, and it’s too out there for the story (plus eventually there’s like...a whole sci-fi novel of Action and Horror eventually that they could not have a kid tagging along with them) but I really, really really like the image of Chris going from “afraid he’ll break it [a small infant]” to “will not put said infant down or leave it alone for fear that something might happen to it” and doesn’t sleep/updates/recharging/general maintenance for three or four months until Amanda realizes he’s on the verge of system failure and makes him sleep before he actually dies again.
R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?
I try so hard not to, but all the other fic writers’s work is right there in my head while I’m writing.
S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Look, this fandom survives on the “star crossed lovers” and “’I’m not good enough for you’ vs ‘I don’t care’” tropes and I live for it.
T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
slooooooow buuuuuuurns. I don’t mind them, but it’s depression that there are fics from literally four years ago that never were updated, and we never get to see things progress between them.
If we’re talking fandom-wide, not just ship-wide, I gotta ask (but please don’t answer me, I don’t want to know) WHY THE FUCK DOES EVERY MALE WRITER WRITE AMANDA GETTING R*PED BY OR R*PPING THE XENOMORPH???????????!!!!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THOSE PEOPLE????? THERE’S MORE PORN OF HER AND THE ALIEN THAN THERE IS FLUFF OF HER AND LITERALLY ANY OTHER CHARACTER WHAT IN THE VAST DARKNESS OF INFINITE SPACE IS GOING THROUGH YA’LLS FUCKING HEADS THAT MAKE THAT SOMETHING YOU WANT TO SEE.
U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet?
DANI AND WALTER. They are. The cutest. Sweetest thing that I’ve ever seen (and would probably once Walter is a little more self aware be the only truely healthy synth/human relationship in the whole fandom).
Walter is also the only synthetic that has not canonically killed a man, or very seriously attempted to kill a man. He’s a good egg. P u r e    b o y.

2018 in-house shows posted!
Once more, no mention on their facebook page or in their emails, but I suppose that’s what I’m here for.  If you go to PARF’s website, you’ll find that the list of in-house shows has at last been updated for this season.  I took the liberty of copy-pasting it all here nonetheless.
King’s Court King Henry and Queen Catherine host the visiting king and queen of France. Never before have so many monarchs gathered upon a Mt. Hope stage! Will the Master of Revels, Sir Walter Roderick Kensington, be up to the task of entertaining four royals? Join them at the Endgame stage, and watch the saga of the Field of Cloth of Gold commence!
(I am so pleased that they specifically mentioned the question of whether Sir Walter will be able to cope with four monarchs.)
Human Chess King Henry and King Francis, in the spirit of friendly competition, have agreed to match wits in a game of Human Chess. All the denizens of Mt. Hope, from lowly peasants to noble knights, will take the board as members of the kings’ armies. But as the ring of steel fills their ears, and the thrill of battle heats their blood, will the contest stay friendly for long?
(I didn’t read the above description, for it undoubtedly contains what would count as spoilers to me.)
Ultimate Joust
As the sun sets upon Bosworth Field, four knights will meet in mounted combat, as a crowd of thousands looks on. Come and cheer for your favorite knight; thrill to the pounding hooves and the clash of steed and steel. Join the royal court and all the villagers of the Shire, in the epic Ultimate Joust that has made Mt. Hope famous.
(I didn’t read the above description, for it undoubtedly contains what would count as spoilers to me.)
Finale in Song
As the festival day draws to a close, the town gathers for a final celebration of song, dance, and laughter. Join King Henry and Queen Catherine, along with King Francis and Queen Claude of France, and the entire town of Mt. Hope, in a village event that reveals the very heart of the Shire.
(I didn’t read the above description, for it undoubtedly contains what would count as spoilers to me.)
Grand MacGuffin Melee Good Master MacGuffin has not had much luck with his establishment. It seems like every new business venture he tries always winds up in a massive brawl. But this time, he has decided to attract a fancier sort of clientele. Come attend the grand opening of MacGuffin’s Gallerie of Fine Arte. With such a high-class aspiration, what could possibly go wrong?
(I’d finished reading this before I registered that it was for a show I consider storyline, and therefore didn’t want spoilers for.  That said, this can only end well.)
Disasterpiece Theatre The Master of Revels, Sir Walter Roderick Kensington, has assembled the shire's best performers (who had nothing else going on at the time) to delight our guests with a masterpiece on the stage. They present a different modern story with a 16th century twist every weekend; and of course when Sir Walter tries to get something done-- anything that can go wrong will go wrong. It will truly be a Disasterpiece!
(As soon as I’d read the title and the fact that the description starts with naming Sir Walter, I was already dying with laughter.  I am so glad that character and his particular style of overwroughtness managed to become so iconic.  This promises to be fantastic.  I predict that they will definitely adapt Mean Girls, if nothing else.  I also vote for an adaptation of Newsies.  Les Mis would be great, but I dunno that that counts as “modern”, and it’s also a little long, ya kno?)
Bloody Best Attend the tale of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, He Who Would be King of Scotland. ‘Tis forty minutes of brutal combat, murder most foul, and disturbingly comic violence. And blood. There will be blood.
(B l o o d y B e s t i s t h e S c o t t i s h P l a y.  Which should be interesting, because the entirety of the grounds count as a theatre, and it’s only safe to name the play if it’s in the script.  So what if someone tries to interact with the performers regarding the contents of Bloody Best after the show is over?  Would improvised interaction be close enough to keep them safe?  Or will it call down the curse if they are forced to utter it in that circumstance?  And if the latter is true, will they then be able to get to the edge of the grounds / the gate into the performer-only area [that is, leave the theatre] in time to be able to perform the ritual to lift the curse?  Most importantly, am I cruel enough to put this to the test?)
The Sirens The pirate crew of the Relentless Contessa is out for blood and gold...on any other normal day, but today, they are taking a break to demonstrate their fierce musicality, daring boldness, and filthy pirate jests!
(THE SIRENS ARE PYRATES THIS TIME AT LAST FINALLY YESYESYES I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS FOR YEEEEAAAARRRRS!!!) (No Bloody Shame [THE BLOODY SHAME!] though. I’m sad.)
The Rakish Rogues What happens when two French Nobles and two English Nobles are employed by Their Majesties to entertain the masses? They don't know either! Watch these charming nobles sing revelrous songs and regale you with rowdy vulgarities.
(After years of the Rogues being in some of the more lightweight outfits, their day of reckoning has finally come.  Boys, welcome to the excessively  heatstroke-laden life of a noble.)
The Irish Revels The three Eugenia Sisters, proprietors of The Wild Rose Inn, are celebrating the return of their father by reassembling the family band. Join them for rousing Irish folk music and quirky family values.
(THE IRISH REVELS ARE RETURNING THE IRISH REVELS ARE RETURNING THE IRISH REVELS ARE RETUUUURNIIIIINNNNNG!!!!!) (Yo, the MacGuffin Stables and Tavern has competition!)
Friday Knights Come see our Improv Track perform feats of mental, verbal, and physical agility for your entertainment! Presented in 2 acts, the first half is a competition of comedy as 2 teams face off against each other in "Whose Line..." style improv games hoping to earn the laughs and love of our audience judges. Then, after the intermission, both teams come together to perform a completely improvised musical based on the audience's suggestion!
(Quite pleased this is back.  Rest assured I shall actually attend this time.)
Neighborhoods Kings and Queens are great and all, but what do the average citizens of Mount Hope do on a festival day? Seek out these interactive stories that you can get involved in all over the shire to find out! Provide your expert opinion at a Town Hall Meeting; help track and arrest a wanted thief (or help the thief escape!). Get involved in the happenings of Mount Hope and influence the lives of its inhabitants at these scenarios found not on stages, but in the neighborhoods all around the shire.
(So.... literally exactly what it’s always been.  It’s just listed here this time.)
Music with Their Majesties Take a break with Their Majesties, as they demonstrate Their musical merits and host the best of entertainment from the realm.
(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Robin Hood You think you know the story of Robin Hood? You've probably never heard it like our Apprentice of Revels and her rag-tag team are going to tell it to you.
(........ Apprentice of Revels?  There’s a Apprentice of Revels now?  Sir Walter has a hecking apprentice this year!  I’m like really really hyped about this character’s existence.  For some reason, my mom is convinced this role is gonna be played by Katie Markey.)
Finale Dumb Show Have you missed every Plot Show during the Faire day? Did you not even know there WAS a plot? Arrive to the Globe Stage 15 minutes before Finale In Song to catch up on what happened in the silliest way possible!
(I am left with a deep-seated happiness over the Dumbshow’s return.  But they wrote it wrong.  I have it from the actors, it is oNE WORD!)
The Legend of One-Eyed Willy The Cabin Boy of the "Relentless Contessa" has been tasked with finding more members for the ship's Pirate Crew. Come join his crew, and witness the tale of the most feared pirate to ever sail the seven seas! Presented by The Mount Hope Players!
(was One-Eyed Willy aboard the original Bloody Shame [THE BLOODY SHAME!]?  That wold be a good reason to fear them.)
King's Cavalry Join the Master of Revels and The Lady Mayor for some literal horse-play on the chessboard directly before our Human Chess match! Bring your nipperkins so that they may join the King's Royal Mounted Cavalry!
(Everybody who, like me, attends King’s Cavalry because they went to Chess early to secure good seats, Y’ALL BETTER FUCKIN’ CLAP AND CHEER FOR THOSE KIDS, I SWEAR!)
King Arthur: The Legend of Murray Everyone knows that King Arthur was the Wizard Merlin's greatest apprentice, but did you know Merlin had another apprentice after Arthur? Come experience the tale of Merlin's OTHER apprentice: Murray!
(I’m gonna have to figure out how to make this fit with the canon of BBC’s Merlin, friggin’ fantastic.)
Is... is there no Tournament Joust this year then, or....

Exitus acta probat.  OVID Heroides, II, 85.    “the outcome justifies the means.”
This week I have been working on a fifteenth-century manuscript which satisfies most of the qualities of a Pious Fraud .
“Pious fraud is used to describe fraud in religion. A pious fraud can be counterfeiting a miracle or falsely attributing a sacred text to a biblical figure due to the belief that the “end justifies the means”, in this case the end of increasing faith by whatever means available.”
Here we have a text that is worthy of Vladimir Nabokov or Umberto Eco.(Ex caelis oblatus).
This book is a compilation of  pious texts presented in various figurative, authorial disguises.   In order to add authority to what you or someone else  has written, who does not have the Status (or Piety) of a Saint.  Or perhaps it was just stuck with like texts which had no author statement and ‘just inherited it”  I for one am interested those who participate in this heresy.  Certainly this is a group participation activity, those who write , those who place an authors name upon a text and those who repeat it..   Erasmus  questioned the authenticity of these letters.  but does not suggest who forged them?I must pass this along.

The book begins with a life of Jerome in his last St. Eusebius of Cremona was a friend of St. Jerome, whose translations of the Old and New Testaments — known as the Vulgate — served for centuries as the official Latin version of the Bible.Eusebius was born in the fourth century at Cremona, Italy. He and Jerome met in Rome while Jerome was Pope St. Damasus’ secretary. Eusebius so identified with Jerome’s call for asceticism that he begged to accompany him to the Holy Land. The Epistle of Jerome to Pope Damasus I  supposedly written in 376 or 377 AD, is a response of Jerome to an epistle from Damasus, who had urged him to make a new translational work of the Holy Scripture. The letter was written before Jerome started his translation work (382–405).
Jerome agreed that Old-Latin translation should be revised and corrected, acknowledging the numerous differences between every Latin manuscript such that each one looked like its own version. To remedy the problem, Jerome agreed that they should be corrected on the basis of the Greek manuscripts. Jerome explained why the Old-Latin order of the Gospels (Matthew, John, Luke, Mark) should be changed into the order Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, because it is relevant for the Greek manuscripts. Jerome also explained the importance of the Eusebian Canons and how to use them.
In the early 14th century, forged letters allegedly written by Eusebius of Cremona, St Augustine and St Cyril of Jerusalem discussing the circumstances of St Jerome’s death, his miracles and the development of his cult were copied and widely circulated, their authenticity unquestioned and undetected.
Bound after these texts.

This copy is bound in alum tawed reverse leather (doe?) dyed yellow, over wood, Lacking clasps but with catches with a dear or elk rampant embossed on them. The book has renewed sewing and has been rebacked. Some glosses and corrections are quite faded. There are a few minor water stains and ink stains. Octavo 8 1⁄2 x 5 1⁄2 inches (page size) Collation: unsigned: a14, b14, c14,d14,e12, d12 (d 11&12 blank and removed ) : A12. (at the center of each gathering there are vellum supports.) 90 leaves.
“The leaves of the manuscript were traditionally hand sewn onto new alum tawed cords, and integrated into the original oak boards. Careful examination of the binding showed that the book was secured with 12 iron tacks and 4 wooden pegs in specially cut mortises. The spine of the book was replaced with reverse alum tawed sheepskin, dyed to match, and underlayed beneath the cover leather. There were no signs of blind or gilt tooling on the binding, however the remnants of the clasps, pins and straps hint at a refined sacred artistry.”Bookbinder/Conservator Matthew Jones,Green Dragon Bindery

None of these texts seem todate before 1300. First 1 Is letter describing Jerome’s last hours and death, purportedly from Jerome’s disciple and successor as Abbot of the Bethlehem monastery, Eusebius of Cremona, to Damascus, Bishop of Portus and Theodosius, a Roman senator. 2nd letter from Pseudo-Augustine to Pseudo-Cyril, Bishop of Jerusalem, is about Jerome’s magnigicentiae (i.e. his titles to glory and veneration). 3rd Pseudo-Cyril’s reply to Pseudo-Augustine – describes Jerome’s miracles before and after his death And bound after those is Andreas Capellanus, De amore lib. All from A to Z :)
Oh my Lanta. Really? I mean, I’ll do it, but wowza. Thank you, anon. :D
A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.
I’m not honestly a huge shipper. I prefer bromance to romance... if I HAD to pick a ship or two? Demitri/Anastasia from “Anastasia”, and Mr. Darcy/Elizabeth Bennet from “Pride and Prejudice”. Always get me every time.
B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind.
Mmm... Spirk (Star Trek) and McKirk (Star Trek). Damnit, I didn’t want to get sucked into this hell hole, but here I am.
C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.
Sherlock/Anyone. I just don’t see romantic relationships there. I mean I can see how people get the Johnlock thing going, but honestly... I don’t ship him with anyone. Again, bromance before romance for this one.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.
Dean Winchester/Lisa (Supernatural). But that might be because that storyline was pretty weak.
E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?
Some of you may well remember that there is a little known one-shot lurking out there inspired by @faragonart‘s Hiccup in Aperture Science drawings from... Jeez, like a year and a half ago? Not sure. But it’s out there. It’s cracky as hell.
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom?
Been in the Teen Titans fandom for... jeez uh... 13 years? Harry Potter is closely behind at 12.
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?
Again, not super shippy. When I was a wee tot I adored Robin/Starfire on Teen Titans, but the older I got the more I was like “I just don’t see it.” I do love me some Harry/Ginny (Harry Potter).
H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?
Usually tv shows. Almost always. Sometimes movies. Rarely books.
I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why?
Tumblr has turned me off of so many fandoms before I ever even saw the show, because I was sick of it before I ever got a chance to enjoy it, including but not limited to: Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Voltron, Troll Hunters, Hannibal, etc.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. (You don’t have to care about it or follow it; it just has to be something that Tumblr made you aware of.)
Supernatural. Honestly had no idea what it even was before I saw it on here, and then of course I got obsessed.
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
Ooohhh. Sherlock is one of my faves, just watching him become more.. human, is great. Jesse Pinkman and Walter White (Breaking Bad)... there are so MANY.
L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)
John Winchester has a pleasant sounding voice when he isn’t screaming at his children? Does that count?
M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend.
Lorelai Gilmore (Gilmore Girls). I want to be her.
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).
Jesse Pinkman character analysis and canon compliant Harry Potter learning to deal with his upbringing.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
“Reflecting Light” by Sam Phillips- Luke/Lorelai (Gilmore Girls)
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
I actually developed a relatively in depth baby bots AU for Portal in one of @faragonart‘s streams. The idea was more or less that in an effort to tame Glad0s, they scientists desperately tried to bring the human part of her (whatever was left of Caroline) back into control by appealing to her maternal instinct with android baby bots, creating first Virgil (who was too soft spoken and non-assertive, and brushed aside before being reassigned to maintenance) then Wheatley (who was too curious and outgoing, and caused her to become increasingly hostile against him to the point that his memory of it was wiped, and he was left with nothing more than an inherent fear of her), and finally having no choice but to bring in Caroline’s actual daughter: Chel. If anyone wants more than that, I have it all written down somewhere and I’ll hunt it down and share.
Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why.
Ooooh. LOST. Too weird, my dudes. Far too weird. And Grey’s Anatomy.
R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?
Merlin/Arthur, Sherlock/John, Harry/Hermione, this is a looong list.
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)
Hmm... alright, so @orhowfar and I were watching Anastasia a few weeks back and I went dark af and just proclaimed that I think Dimitri was abused by the staff of the palace. He very clearly gets manhandled rather aggressively on a fairly frequent basis, and his self esteem is virtually nothing. So we came up with this whole big thing where his favorite of the nobility was always Vlad, who had kind eyes and a big belly and would sneak him sweets when he assisted, and after helping the princess escape and being knocked unconscious (by a blow to the head from a gun which 100% broke his nose btw have you ever noticed?) He finds himself with nowhere to go. He runs into Vlad and there’s a moment of pure panic because Vlad knows how bad things are right then, but they both just nod, and wind up taking care of each other. Vlad becomes something of a father figure to Dimitri. He notices pretty early on that Dimitri doesn’t like contact unless he’s initiated it, something that carries over into adulthood, despite his best efforts, but it does get better. Vlad just makes sure to let Dimitri come to him as often as possible instead of reaching out first. Etc. etc. it was a LONG thing.
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending?
Hiccup’s hair looks the way it does because he won’t sit still for a haircut- he’s always off doing something or other- so his father will just randomly grab a handful of his hair and slice through it with his knife to keep it manageable. Hiccup barely notices until after Stoick’s death when his hair is suddenly longer than it’s been in years and then he remembers and ouch.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
Merlin- self sacrificing, intelligent, lovable little dork with immense power.
Dean Winchester- self sacrificing, intelligent, lovable little dork with virtually no self esteem or self preservation skills.
Jesse Pinkman- self sacrificing, intelligent, lovable little dork with virtually no self esteem or self preservation skills who is far too broken and has seen far too much but is desperate for love.
V - Which character do you relate to most?
It varies... I related to Jesse Pinkman more than I probably should have but... given current circumstances.. yeah. I understand Lorelai Gilmore on a spiritual level as well.
W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom.
“Bad guy is reformed and becomes besties with the gang”. Get away from meeeeeeeee.
X - A trope which you are almost certain to love in any fandom.
One character slowly humanizes another through little acts of affection and teaching and both learn from the other and become best friends in the process.
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)?
Hmmm... does The Office count? I see a lot of The Office second hand.
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! (Prompts optional but encouraged.)
They have never once cast a decent Dick Grayson (Batman) and let me tell you why because when a child is of Romani descent they are not some little pale white boy with dark hair. They have a very specific look and I have yet to see it. Not to mention they never pick the right body type. Dick is an acrobat first and foremost; he just learned to adapt that into a fighting style. He would not be some top heavy bulky af ripped dude with giant shoulders and biceps and thighs as wide as a tire, he’d be lean and wiry and small. He needs to be fast, be able to get and keep himself airborne, and fold into all sorts of weird shapes (the kid is basically a damn contortionist). He’s strong as hell, but it’s not just big ass muscles, it’s... *deep breath* he’s not the body type they keep casting. Furthermore, that kid is definitely his own special brand of damaged and I get very tired of seeing the “so sarcastic and carefree” attitude given to him in movies and tv shows, but I also can’t stand the other extreme: the cold, clinical, calculating, trying to be Batman nonsense. That’s not who he is. He’s smart and capable, and certainly can be serious, he’s been playing a part in public for most of his life, just as Bruce does, but he’s also very careful not to become what Bruce has... I could go on about this for a long time... @cinemamind, help me?
Thanks for the request, anon, sorry this is SO long...

Who did that? Imauthorating a Saint?  In order to add authority to what you or someone else  has written, who does not have the Status (or Piety) of a Saint.  Or perhaps it was just stuck with like texts which had no author statement and ‘just inherited it”  I for one am interested those who participate in this heresy.  Certainly this is a group participation activity, those who write , those who place an authors name upon a text and those who repeat it..   Erasmus  questioned the authenticity of these letters.  but does not suggest who forged them?…I must pass this along.

    * The Oxford English Dictionary reports the phrase was first used in English in 1678. Edward Gibbon was particularly fond of the phrase, using it often in his monumental and controversial work The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire in which he criticized the likelihood of some of the martyrs and miracles of the early Christian church.
*In Isaac Newton’s dissertation, An Historical Account of Two Notable Corruptions of Scripture, he blames the “Roman Church” for many abuses in the world, accusing it of “pious frauds”
