is Final Fantasy 8 still as maligned in the fandom as it was years ago? god, I hope not. I treated myself to the remastered version on the Switch earlier this week as a birthday gift for me (you are encouraged to read that in Kuzco's voice), and I've been having so much fun delving into it again. the Junction system is really really fun to play with, you can basically pick your own challenge level by deciding how much to level your characters (because enemies scale with you), Triple Triad SLAPS, so does the soundtrack, and the setting is soooooo cool??? I love the more modern and bright and colorful locations melded with magic, it's awesome to have monsters and magic spells while also traveling by train and car and people are using the internet and stuff. the cast is also really underrated, too, IMO. which is a post in itself.

it's just. genuinely really really good, IMO, and I hope it's getting more love nowadays. it's in my top three for sure, along with IX and VI.

Melting your car. You hitchhike back but the person who picked you up is an axe murderer.#I could not finish it. My friends who did say it was good. But agree it was for the best I did not finish it.#Hey speaking of tone twists...We are one episode away from one of my favourite chapters being animated!#WHO'S READY FOR THE SENSHI BACKSTORY! Vampires don't usually age by getting grey hair and wrinkles, but Fidds hurries his aging process by using the memory gun!!

Stan helps him outta the habit, but it still takes it's toll, y'know?

And, I totally love the idea of Old Stan not being able to hide his fondness because he just can't stop wagging his tail when he's with the people he loves 🙏 So cute 🥹
