Rogue Kids Updates

So I’m going to run through the Rogue kids in age order and the updates to their storylines including changes in parentage, living arrangements, and home life.

Let’s begin.

Eleanor (17) and Elizabeth (16) Nguyen: If you can’t guess from the name change, Ed didn’t give his daughters the surname Nygma, and ditched the name himself when Ellie was ten and Lizzie was nine.

Leon Vargas (17): Leo now has a mother, Anita, who works at Gotham City University as a professor.  She and Angel do live together.

Tobias Bloom (17): Firstly, Tobi now has a proper Korean name, Yi-Seul, and goes by it at home.  His parents, Se-Hyeon and Jae-Min Park, were also developed and Zach was changed from adopting Tobi from foster care to being his godfather that got custody of Tobi after his parents passed away unexpectedly.

Barbara and Todd Quinzel (17): Not much has changed, just integrated the Joker/Jack Napier split into their home life.  Harley is now Jack’s partner and they’re raising Barbara and Todd together.

Aisling (17), Maxwell (15), and Niall (13) Machin: All Machin kids were aged down and they all now have relationships with their mothers.  Lonnie splits custody of Aisling with her mother, Siobhan, has full custody of Max while his mother, Molly, is in the hospital, and is still with Niall’s mother, Erin.

Hunter (17) and Ayah (16) Jones: Hunter and Ayah now have a mother, Delilah, and I’m amid developing her character and her relationship with Waylon.

Lavender (17) and Clover (16) Isley: No changes to Lavender and Clover.

Gwendolyn Tetch (16): Gwen has a set mother now, Mary Dahl, which functionally does solidify that Gwen will inherit hypoplasia from her parents.  She is still in Barbara Gordon’s custody but Mary has visitation rights, Jervis does not.

Ezekiel Dent (16): Zeke is no longer in Harvey’s custody and he now has a mother, Grace.  She was Harvey Dent’s fiance and has custody of Zeke.

Dorothea (16) and Pluto (14) Crane: Changed Dorothy’s name and also their mother.  New mother is named Ophelia, their home life hasn’t changed much otherwise.  I will talk your ear off about Ophelia though.

Violet Mavis (15): Violet was aged up and additionally now has a mother, Sofia, and a more solid identity.  She has some design changes too which I can go over another time.

Marcus Wesker (15): Marcus was also aged up and he now lives with his parents, George and Louise, not his grandfather.  Arnold does live in their household (when he’s not doing crime things).

Evangeline Fries (14): Eva lives with her mother Nora and her stepfather, Jeremias.  Victor has supervised visitation but usually doesn’t take it.

Aiden Lynns (14) and Cosette Walker (14): Drury and Garfield are now married!  Aiden and Cosette have established surrogate mothers (Estelle and Ivette) and are siblings.

Jeremy Todd (11): Jeremy is now significantly younger and has a mother, Valerie Spade.  Jury’s still out if she and Jason are still together or just coparenting.

Any phantom actors who you’ve seen in other shows or even just other roles in the show who you think are just absolutely amazing in every role they ever perform in?

I’m going to be completely honest: I am not an “actor fan”, I am a “show fan”. Meaning I’m a fan of a show (Phantom) and I follow the actors so long as they are in it, but once they leave, I generally lose all interest in them. So the number of actors I’ve even seen in another show is quite low, and usually tends to more coincidental than anything (oh, you’ve been in Phantom and Wicked? Cool, I enjoy both). So I’m just going to list every actor who I’ve actually seen in multiple shows and remember something of them, and say what I thought:

Rebecca Caine - Les Mis and Phantom. Thought she was fantastic in both. Honestly kind of prefer ‘I Saw Him Once’ over ‘In My Life’ and 90% of that is because I love her voice.

Michael Ball - Les Mis and Phantom, again. Fabulous in both.

AJ Callaghan - Phantom and Les Mis in three different roles: Cosette, Eponine, and Fantine. Her Christine was fine, I only caught glimpses of her Eponine, but I thought her Cosette and Fantine were pretty good.

Kim So Hyun - Listened to her in Phantom, watched her in Elisabeth, need to listen to her in Wicked. Terrific in Phantom, cute in Elisabeth but thought she could do better in the second act.

Uwe Kroger - Elisabeth and Phantom. Utterly fantastic in Elisabeth, one of my top favorites. Utterly terrible in Phantom, at my bottom worst.

Sierra Boggess - The Little Mermaid and Phantom. Thought she was divine in The Little Mermaid. Thought she was fine in Phantom, but not one of my favorites.

Ramin Karimloo - Phantom, Les Mis (mostly Enjolras, caught some glimpses of his Valjean), bits of Miss Saigon. Not a big fan of his Phantom, but thought his Enjolras and Chris was okay. All I remember of his Valjean is him ripping his shirt off.

Gina Beck - Phantom, Les Mis, and Wicked. Little memory of her in Les Mis, but a favorite in Phantom, and really loved her in Wicked, save for not liking her Glinda singing voice (too nasal).

Katie Hall - Les Mis and Phantom. A real cutie pie in Les Mis (Cosette only, have not seen her Fantine). Kind of dull in Phantom.

Oliver Arno - Elisabeth and the Vienna concert of Phantom. A very chilling Death in Elisabeth, despite the poor direction, and an adorable, caring Raoul in Phantom.

Valerie Link - Wicked, some glimpses in Les Mis, and Phantom. Little memory of her in Les Mis, but loved her Christine in Phantom. Thought she made a decent Glinda in Wicked, but needed work on the comedy.

Ali Ewoldt - Les Mis and Phantom. A bit strident vocally in both, and I thought she overacted a tad in Les Mis, but really warmed up to her Christine in Phantom.

So I guess the “winners” here are Rebecca Caine, Michael Ball, maybe Gina Bck, and Oliver Arno?

Do you know how many actresses have played Cosette and Christine? And how many on broadway?

Probably a huge percentage have played both, both being similar "type" roles and often produced by the same theatres/people. Specifically on Broadway I believe it's only Tracy Shayne, Ali Ewoldt, and Samantha Hill who have done both roles on Broadway. There are others that have done one role on Broadway and the other regionally/on the national tour. I know tumblr user southerncalcosette was making lists of those who had played both but she is no longer active. there’s probably a good few handfuls more where this came from even WAY MORE when you add in characters I have VARIED HCs for ESPECIALLY MORE when you add in various P.K.M.N. themselves Please note: I didn’t finish all of Poke@ni 100% completely for most of the various seasons, though usually got up to at least the final stretches of those seasons [i.e., pre-Leagues]. So as far as I know most of these characters had little serious romantic involvements with men in canon. Some of these characters have some ships involving boys/men but if they’re on this list I usually didn’t go for such ships?... [i.e. Burgh/Gardenia. no seriously wHERE did that ships’ popularity in JPN f@ndom come from?!?? IDGI STILL] {Ash/Flannery got shipped a bit too iirc but also yeah ... No Interest} [Ash/@nabel was also pretty popular due to AG canon, but. Not Sure If Ship.] (In games canon I definitely personally prefer her along the lines of this instead.)
