Can I hear your thoughts on this panel?
Tumblr media
I feel that Hyrule looking at Legend as Four says that is important somehow... What do you think?
Hmmm
Well one thing I’ve noticed in the last couple of updates is Hyrule and Legend have been around each other A LOT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Practically ever since Hyrule finished healing Twilight and helping Four they’ve been hanging around each other. In close proximity too. Which, given that Legend usually only stands close to the people he trusts (principally Sky) is a big deal.
If Dawn pt. 5 is any indication, it seems that Hyrule is mostly initiating this lol
Tumblr media
But Legend is letting him
Excuse me while I fangirl over the downfall duo for a moment. ALDNDLSDJSLDNSL THE BROTHERS EVER
Ahem ok let’s continue
Now, I’m overdue for a LU reread so correct me if I’m wrong BUT I seem to recall that they’ve never stayed this close to each other before. Could just be that they take comfort in one another’s presence. Seeing the panel you shared, though, I’m gonna say it’s more than that.
Idk if they’ve figured out their place in the timeline yet (I’m assuming not due to how everyone acted in Timeline Talk pt. 1). That doesn’t mean, however, that they haven’t begun to guess. Jojo has hinted at many interactions that the Links have had offscreen. Plus, Legend and Hyrule met up before they ran into the others. They’ve had time to get to know each other. I guarantee they’ve got suspicions about their places in time.
Which leads me to believe Hyrule is afraid of losing Legend. He must have figured out that Legend was a hero sometime before his journey began. Meaning, somewhere along the way he perished and the darkness he struggled so hard against spread over Hyrule anew. With Twilight just having escaped death (plus the cryptic comments he continues to make regarding Time’s fate), I’m sure untimely demises are on Hyrule’s mind.
I don’t think he knows Legend’s fate (unless there’s something in his games that hints toward the previous hero’s fate). But I believe he wants to. I can’t be the only one who sees the striking similarities between Legend and Time. He likely came to the realization that a guy like Legend will most likely die a wanderer or a warrior (doesn’t mean he did. I don’t like to think he did. One blorbo with a tragic end is enough XD But still). And being a hero and Legend’s friend he’s wondering if maybe, just maybe he can change that.
If it’s possible to know a future occurrence, it could be possible to transform it, right?

Twilight's Calling ||
Pairing: Twilight x GN! Reader
Words: 2,544
Requested by anonymous: Heeey. First of I love your writing style! It’s just amazing! Cause twilight is my fav. could you maybe write something like xreader with him, for example they’re in a battle or smth? Only if it’s okay ofc! Thanks a lot and have a good day and week! best wishes :) Twilight may or may not be my favorite Link, too (TP was the first game I finished, so I'm a little bias, okay?). I've had this draft lying around unfinished for awhile, so I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to finish it. Here you go, hun 💜
Zelda Masterlist 🤎Fandom Masterlist
Tumblr media
It's getting pretty late. 'Late' as in the sun has long set and the last time you saw any of the boys was about an hour ago when Time finally managed to herd the remaining stragglers out of the room, although he was being a bit hypocritical seeing as he still lingered in the doorway for a good minute himself afterwards (not that you dared comment on it).
Since their heavy footsteps had faded into silence - and aside from the innkeeper sometimes shuffling down the hall or a sudden 'pop' of the bedside candle - you've been left entirely alone with your thoughts as they dance on the very edge of sleep, but you refuse to lose balance. It's your shift. You promised to be a good lookout and it took a lot of convincing to even get the position, so you can't disappoint no matter how heavy the weight upon your eyelids or heart is.
You've always been well aware of the risks that would come with this mission and from traveling alongside nine heroes of legend; troublesome young men and boys who can definitely handle themselves in battle, however none immune to making possible mistakes. You expected one to occur at some point, yet never wanted the aftermath to be anything too serious.
Wild getting a decent scar on his forehead was a scare when it initially happened, but he was back on his feet within the hour - less than that actually, because if you remember correctly, his quick recovery had been controversial and resulted in quite a bit of bickering. The bottom line is that Wild bounced back with little to no trouble thanks in part to his thick skull. This is different. Twilight has yet to follow his protege's example and it's been hours.
You must admit you underestimated the situation at first due to a lack of context. It's not to say you didn't care about Wolfie when he got struck, however there's a notable difference between a wild 'pet' that occasionally trails your group and the very man you've grown to secretly admire over the months you've spent traveling together. If you had known then that they are one of the same, you would've likely shared a similar level of panic as the Champion, but instead you were left in the dark until Four finally explained Twilight's secret to you.
Even at that moment, although more worried, you figured everything would be okay. Wolfie or Twilight, a fairy should be able to do the trick to heal the worst of injuries, so one can imagine your heartbreak once learning that, for some odd reason, the state of his wounds haven't changed even under a fairy's sacred touch. That's when you truly became fearful, but you refused to show it outwardly - no more than whatever made itself present on your face, anyway.
Making a fuss won't aid Twilight's condition nor will it calm the concerns of your friends, so instead you had mostly stayed out of the way until Time announced everyone should get some rest. At that point, you made your presence known, quick to shoot your hand into the air while volunteering to take the first shift for watching over Twilight. Champion was the only one to fight you for it and honestly, you still aren't certain how you won the argument, but here you are, sitting quietly at Twilight's bedside while trying desperately to keep yourself from descending into madness as you fret over his well-being.
He's doing somewhat better after Hyrule's magic managed to stop most of the bleeding, however his wound remains deep without any further healing progress and his skin is drained into a pale, sickly color clear even through the dim glow of candle light. He looks like shit and you'd guess he feels like it, too, seeing as his face curls into a pained expression every now and again, a whispered groan leaving him whenever he slightly shifts his body (not that he moves that much).
It's gotten a bit chilly tonight, however all blankets in the room have been laid over him and you refuse to swoop as low as to steal comfort from a dying man, so you simply keep huddled to yourself, half praying the next shift will come sooner and half praying it won't because a stubbornness inside you is somehow convinced that the simple act of you being here will keep himsafe from death's hands.
You don't pay much attention to the quiet groan that comes from the bed, having already bitterly accepted that there's nothing that can ease whatever pain haunts Twilight during his nightmares, although you do lift your head when a hand shakes its way into view, barely able to carry itself to the edge of the covers where it collapses with a broken echo from its owner, "W...What time is it?"
You almost cry simply by the sight of Twilight's dull eyes staring up at you, half-lidded and only appearing bright if compared to the dark bags hiding underneath them, but you manage to hold back the tears for the sake of not scaring him.
"I-I'm not sure. After sunset," You answer slowly as to prevent any wobbling to your voice.
"And the others? Is every - everyone else okay?" Hylia, he sounds awful, his once handsome, accent-laced voice butchered by a hollow croak.
"Yeah...Yeah, we're all okay - and don't worry about the shadow. Wild managed to take it down - thanks to you tiring it out, I'd say. You sure gave that thing a run for its money there," You attempt to joke lamely. Although your laugh doesn't carry much life to it, Twilight's expression does soften a tad after the sound.
"...Good..." Is all he says before closing his eyes with a sigh through his nose. Meanwhile you fidget nervously, debating with yourself on whether you should let the conversation die off so that he can continue getting rest or keep him talking while he's able to. You sure do love hearing his voice, after all, no matter how broken it may be; it reminds you that someone as great as him is actually real and, after recent events, still alive.
In the midst of your depressed thoughts, you notice Twilight reach his hand out towards you again - or at least it looks like he's trying to. Really, he only has the strength to lift it palm-up slightly off the covers, yet you understand this movement's wordless request. Ever so gently, as if he's made of glass, you take his hand and sandwich it between both of yours. He's a bit too cold for your liking, a sharp contrast to his normally warm touch, not that you draw attention to that worrying detail.
"...Is there anything I can get you?"
He tries to shake his head, but loses will halfway through the action and instead chooses to simply let his head lull to the side towards you. From there he stares for a bit longer than he means to, his dazed brain struggling to process his thoughts at its usual speed.
"Why aren't you sleeping?"
"Someone has to keep an eye on you," You allow a small smile, slowly reaching forward to help move his bangs away from his face, "We're all taking shifts throughout the night. I was just lucky enough to get the first."
Twilight hums, closing his eyes for a brief second when your fingers brush his forehead, "How'd you manage that?"
"Barely. For a second there, I thought I was gonna have to duel the Champion for it - had my hand on my sword and everything before he finally caved," Twilight makes a sound between a scoff and a laugh which makes your smile more genuine even if he does flinch in pain immediately afterwards, "The real question is how I won against Time...Actually, I wouldn't be that surprised if he's secretly standing outside the door as we speak."
A creak of old floorboards in the hallway makes your eyes dart to the door, almost expecting the man in question to walk in and call you out for your jokes, yet you calm that doesn't happen. Twilight brings your attention back to him by moving his thumb against your hand, "Don't tell 'em, but I'm glad it's you here. I like having ya' here with me..."
You press your lips, hoping it'll help you ignore the heat against your cheeks. That must be the first time Twilight has ever openly said he 'likes' anything related to you; you're certain you'd remember any other instances of such a milestone. It might not be the exact sentence you'd want him to use the word in, but it's a step in the right direction, so you'll take it.
"I like having you here with me, too, Twi...which is why I've officially decided that I'm too selfish to let you die on any of us. I don't care if I have to fist-fight Hylia for it; I'm not letting you get out of this journey so easily."
"That right?"
"I swear it on my life."
He chuckles weakly, although the sound is taken over by a fit of coughing. Promptly you pour a small glass of water using the pitcher kept on the bedside table before gently helping him sit up to take a careful sip.
It's insane for you to think that only a few weeks ago, you had been secretly watching him move hay bales at Time's place effortlessly. Now he lies here in bed struggling to hold a conversation, his muscles shaking horribly by the simply action of prompting himself up even slightly. Seeing him like this makes you feel awful, but you also consider yourself blessed to be the one taking care of him during a low point like this, ensuring that he's properly cared for and tended to almost like a spouse would.
"Seems like I'm starting to lose you, farm boy. You should relax and get some more sleep," He makes a face and seems prepared to argue, however he must not have been able to think of anything convincing to say - that or the aching in his bones has become too hard to ignore. Either way, instead of saying a word, Twilight nods droopily before inching his way back down against his soft pillow while you fix the blankets over him again.
"Look on the bright side: make it through this and you'll probably get special treatment from here on out. Get your bags carried for you, have whatever meals you're craving be made each night...If you hobble around a little I'm sure you could even get Time to fuss over you -"
" - And what about you?" Twilight quizzes and you can't tell if he's being serious or just teasing. It feels like the latter, yet the way he watches you while awaiting your reply makes you feel another way; soft and warm, but a tad anxious at the same time, "What can I get from you?"
You pretend to think, although in truth, you already know there wouldn't be any limitations for what you're willing to give. If he asked for the world right now, you'd figure out some way to gift wrap it for him...but that's too embarrassing to admit aloud, "...Depends on what you're thinking and if you can swing it the right way."
He hums, once again staring at you just long enough to make that anxious feeling really prominent. Is there something on your face that no one told you about earlier? Is he judging your messy hairdo that you had no time to fix since the battle? Did you sound too flirtatious in your answer? Maybe his injury has given him the ability to read minds, so now he knows just how desperate you are to earn his affections!
"...If I asked you to stay with me, would you?" Twilight whispers so quietly that you barely hear, yet you do.
"I, uh...Time will be here in an hour or so for his shift, but I won't go anywhere until then, okay?" Not even your poor excuse at smiling can save your stumbled words, yet you pray he doesn't look beyond either. He's loopy from such a stressful day, so it makes sense that he's have trouble properly wording questions. It also makes sense for him to be scared to be left alone - anyone would be in such a state. He doesn't have to worry, though; between you and the boys, someone will always be by his side throughout the night. You'd expect that knowledge to be a relief for him, however Twilight only frowns and looks away with a surprisingly depressed look in his eyes.
Fiddling nervously with your hands upon your lap, you ask carefully, "...Unless you're wanting me to watch over your for the whole night? In that case, I wouldn't mind staying if it would make you feel better. I'm sure the others would be fine with it if they could just check in here and there."
Twilight presses his lips, refusing to look directly at you. If you didn't know any better, you'd say that based on his continued reaction, you're still somehow missing the point of his question, yet no matter how much you rack your brain, you can't think of what else he would've possibly meant.
You were tempted to ask for more clarity, but Twilight speaks before you can, "...I'd like that."
"Yeah?"
He nods bashfully which melts your heart in a way you're sure would be shamefully clear if he were only looking in your direction.
"...Well, since you took one for the team -" Scooting your chair closer to the bed allows you to cross your arms over the mattress and rest your head on top of them. Desperately you try to ignore your nerves and the cute way Twilight curiously looks over at you, "- I'll stay for the night if you promise me one thing."
"Hmm?"
"Stay with me, too? Without you, I might just loose my mind. Don't tell anyone else, but you don't drive me nearly as insane as some of the other boys do," not in the same way at least.
The corner of Twilight's lips turn upwards, his hand taking it's time to move over yours. The second it makes contact, you take the chance to hold onto it, "...Sounds like a deal..."
You match his smile easily, "Get some sleep, Twi. I'll be right here when you wake up, so just focus on getting better for me, alright?"
He hums one last time, drifting off to sleep as commanded where he seems to be far more peaceful than earlier. As promised, you remain by his side until morning, eventually falling victim to quick naps yourself only disrupted whenever someone else sneaks into the room to see how things are going. You're certain you'll be tired tomorrow with an aching back after spending an entire night hunched over, but that's a small price to pay for someone like Twilight. It'll all be worth it to see him recover, granting you even more time to spend by his side through thick and thin.

I’ve never sent in an emergency request but things have been… hard recently. My birthday is coming up soon and every year it seems to get harder, you see I lost both my parents 11 years ago and I’ve been breaking down more. I’ve been sent home from work because I can’t focus, I haven’t done any of my hobbies because none of them have been helping me feel the slightest bit of happiness, and I just want to cry all time. I miss my parents so much and things sometimes just never seem like they are going to get better.
So I was hoping maybe you would write something like Bakugou comforting reader who is in a similar situation I am in.
I’m sorry if this is a heavy ask and I understand if you don’t answer it. I know a lot of people deal with this kind of thing so again I’m sorry if this is to much🧡
Dare to believe - Bakugo x Reader
A/N: losing your parents is incredibly difficult, and anniversaries can make it even harder. It's okay to feel overwhelmed and to grieve deeply. Please do remember you deserve kindness and care, especially from your own self
EMERGENCY REQS MASTERLIST - PART 2
Tumblr media
The late autumn evening air is crisp as you sit on the balcony, staring at the horizon where the sun has just dipped below. The orange hues have faded into a deep, dark blue, and the first stars are beginning to twinkle in the sky.
You pull your knees to your chest, feeling the weight of another day pressing down on you. It’s been eleven years since you lost your parents, and as your birthday approaches, the grief feels as raw as ever.
You’re lost in your thoughts, barely noticing the sound of the sliding door behind you until you hear a familiar, gruff voice.
"Oi, what’re you doing out here?"
You turn to see Bakugo standing there, his hands shoved into his pockets, a concerned look etched on his face. He steps out onto the balcony of your shared flat, the cold air making his breath visible in the twilight.
"I just needed some air," you reply, your voice barely above a whisper.
He doesn’t say anything for a moment, just stands there, looking at you with those intense, fiery eyes of his. Then, with a sigh, he sits down beside you, the wooden floorboards creaking under his weight. "You’ve been off," he states bluntly, but there’s a softness in his tone that you’ve come to recognize over the years. "What’s going on?"
The dam you’ve been holding back all day starts to crack. "I miss them," you admit, your voice trembling. "I miss my parents so much. And with my birthday coming up, it’s like… it’s like I’m falling apart all over again..."
Bakugo’s expression softens. He’s never been great with words, but he’s always been there for you in his own way. He reaches out, placing a warm hand on your back, rubbing slow, comforting circles. "You’re not alone," he says quietly. "I know it feels like shit, and nothing I say can fix that, no doubt here, but you’re not alone."
You take a shaky breath, feeling a tear slip down your cheek. "I just… I don’t know how to keep going sometimes. Everything feels so heavy."
Bakugo’s grip on your shoulder tightens slightly. "You don’t have to do it alone. I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere, dumbass."
You turn to look at him, surprised by the intensity in his gaze. "But I feel like I’m burdening you, Kats. I can’t even focus at work, and my hobbies… nothing makes me happy anymore."
"Hey," Bakugo’s voice is firm but gentle as he slips his rough index finger under your chin, tilting your head so you can look him in his eyes. "You’re not a burden. Everyone has their moments, and this is a big one. You’ve been strong for so long. It’s okay to lean on someone else for a change."
His words hit you harder than you expected. You’ve always tried to be strong, to keep your grief to yourself, but now, with Bakugo here, offering his unwavering support, you feel a small sliver of hope. "Why are you always so nice to me, always so patient with me?" you ask, a small, sad smile playing on your lips.
He scoffs, rolling his eyes in that familiar Bakugo way. "Because, idiot, I care about you. And you’re worth it. Worth every damn second of my fucking time. Don’t you dare think otherwise."
You chuckle through your tears, the sound bittersweet. "I just feel so lost."
Bakugo moves closer, wrapping a strong arm around your shoulders, pulling you against his side. "Then let me help you find your way."
His warmth is comforting, and for the first time in a while, you feel a little bit of the heaviness lift. You rest your head against his shoulder, closing your eyes and letting the tears fall freely. "Thank you," you whisper, your voice barely audible.
"Anytime," he replies, his voice a gentle rumble in the night. "We’ll get through this. I promise."
The two of you sit there in silence, the stars shining brightly above. For the first time in what feels like forever, a fragile sense of peace washes over you, and you dare to believe that maybe things will get better. With Bakugo by your side, you dare to believe it.

Bit of a weird question, but how do you think Legend (or any of the Links, really) would handle getting separated once the quest is over?
I'm personally of the opinion that he and Warriors would be the ones to figure out a way to visit afterwards, but that's mostly because I hate found families breaking apart to go home after the plot ends. I also like seeing takes where one of them doesn't return to their original time for one reason or another.
Time is used to this sort of thing; losing everyone after it's all over and not able to go back. If anything, I think he drifts into a short depression but eventually moves on. He doesn't try to get back to them because none of his efforts with similar incidents ever did any good, so he really doesn't see the point in trying this time. Instead, he tries to make sure to take care of the world he has to pass to them.
I think Four would be a bit broken up about it, but he's also used to saying goodbye to brothers once the adventure ends. He might dabble a bit with trying to find a way back to them, but he;s very cautious for fear of bringing back anything else, so eventually gives up and/or get's distracted with a way to bring back Shadow instead.
I think Sky would probably consider trying to use the time gates to visit the others, maybe he succeeds, maybe he get's lost for a bit and Zelda has to pull him back to their time so they can fix the gates to do what they want, maybe it works. I think he'd try though.
I think Wind and Hyrule would be broken up about losing their brothers, but they have too many responsibilities in their worlds (rebuilding their Hyrules) to really get to dabble with ways to meet the others again. I think they'd handle the loss well though, as they're bright souls and still young enough that change isn't as shattering for them. Not knowing any horrible future fates also makes letting go of the others easier, and they help themselves process it by trying to remind themselves that the others can now be at rest and at home.
Twilight and Legend would take the loss terribly. The vet keeps losing people so I think it'll really break him, and Twilight's fear for Time, for Wild, for all his brothers who he can no longer protect 100% gives him constant anxiety. Depression and a need to find a way back to the others probably take them over until either they do make it back to see the others again or they give up in despair (hence why Twilight's spirit lingers beside Wild as the Old Wolf)
Wild, obviously, is so busy rebuilding Hyrule and going through TotK that he doesn't really have much chance to do much more than miss his brothers. Post TotK though, he and Zelda probably do look into time traveling around if/when they find out Zelda's time powers.
Warriors though, Warriors probably confronts Cia and demands visitation rights as recompense for the war, Zelda backs him up. Cia is willing and the heroes get established visiting times so they ca keep up with each other. I will take no discussion on this, Warriors refuses to leave his brothers alone and sad, he will visit them even if he has to beg Cia for it.
(And if Cia doesn't agree, Nayru sort of owes Legend her life, and she's definitely got a soft spot for him, so I can see her allowing him to visit his brothers as long as he promises to not screw up the timeline.)

Hi I saw in you pinned post that you like resident evil. My question is who in the chain do you think would play resident evil
IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR MONTHS AND YOU HAVE ENABLED ME TO YAP ABOUT THIS THANK YOU SO MUCH. THE ANSWER IS ALL OF THEM SORT OF:
- Time I think would dabble in it a bit, maybe he’s played some of the og games, definitely none of the remakes because he has no time to game anymore, but I think he’d listen to the others yap about it any nod along because he doesn’t know everything but he knows it’s important to them and has enough knowledge of the characters he understands what they’re saying
- Wars and Twi play together, not because they can’t handle it alone, but because they freak each other out more than the game and for them that’s fun. Like Wars will put his hand on the back of Twi’s neck when he’s creeping around in game and give him a heart attack, and Twilight will randomly scream and point at NOTHING to freak Wars out. Them playing re5 together was a disaster and there was a lot of screaming and there were fucking TEARS during the Wesker fight. Time came in thinking someone was dying but no, they were just playing re5 of all games. They did NOT make it through Biohazard without one of them having a legit breakdown (it was Wars). If you ask either of them what their favorite re game they’ll say re5 because they genuinely had so much fun playing it together, but Twilight will go crazy for re4r and Wars LOVES Village
- Sky wouldn’t touch the games with a ten foot pole, he watched those Village streams and got so stressed out watching streamers make bad decisions that he just can’t do it. He likes the lore though and knows enough about Village to hold a conversation. He’s seen all the movies and he likes Death Island a lot, his favorite character is Claire
- Legend is the kind of streamer that would send Sky into a coma because it’s not that he’s BAD at the games, he just will randomly Go For Things ignoring the fact that he’s making incredibly stupid decisions, and it’s a damn miracle he doesn’t die more in game because it comes SO close. His favorite game is Biohazard, and Wars actually hates him for it
- Hyrule gets forced to watch Wild or Legend play and leaves with tears in his eyes every time. He was one time handed the controller for the re4r el gigante fight and he did it in one shot somehow, but he did cry
- Wild will scream every time something grabs him and each time he does Hyrule loses one year off his life. Wild’s similar to Legend because he will just Go For Things but he doesn’t always narrowly escape like Legend does. His favorite is re2r, he’s a big Ada fan
- Four is the best re player out of all of them, he’s so serious about it too and his accuracy is INSANE. He played re5 on his own because he did the first section with Wild and Wild used up all his ammo and Four couldn’t handle such a huge waste of resources so he finished the game with the ai lmao. He did make Wild play re6 with him though because the re6 game play annoyed him So Much he almost had a stroke, and turning on friendly fire and kicking Wild was the only way he stayed sane through the game. He will short circuit if you ask him what his favorite re game is because he genuinely loves them all, but re1 is his comfort game so he’d probably say that. Four is on his hands and knees begging capcom for a Code Veronica remake
- Wind goes in screaming his head off and is not the best at playing but his enthusiasm makes up for it and he gets through the games eventually. He does better in the multiplayer games where he can follow someone around because he gets distracted and forgets where to go (he does NOT check the maps), but he got so stressed about the re4 waterway he had actual nightmares about it and woke up crying because it was absolutely impossible to beat for him, he spent hours on it. He ended up making Four do it for him. He does not fuck with Biohazard or Village, they stress him out too much, so he watched streams for those (he will NEVER let the others know this though)

Hi Lofty!!
I love all your work and can't get enough of your Healthcare AU!🖤
Question though: We know the boys don't do great self care especially if they are sick or hurt. Malon seems like she would be just as strong headed and always say she's fine. But how would Time react to seeing her name pop up as a patient in the ED?
Like if she got into a car wreck (not a horrific one, though I'm sure Time would lose it) or had an incident with a horse and got banged up, maybe even a concussion, and was trying to refuse treatment because she's "fine", only for Time to burst in.
How would Time react to it all??
The sky had steadily darkened as they drove. Warriors' usual cheerful chatter died down before he'd finally started breathing softly in gentle, rhythmic patterns of sleep. Time glanced over at him on occasion with a fond smile and then he gently turned on a quiet music station on the radio to fill the void.
The emergency medicine conference had gone very well. The boys had learned a great deal, Time's talk was a success, and Sky had even gotten to see Sun briefly. After a good four days relaxing at the shore and getting training hours under their belts, they were ready to return home.
Time had one final class to teach today before they'd left, and he'd turned off his phone as a result. It was only now that he realized he'd forgotten to turn it back on, but he wasn't going to mess with it while he was driving. They'd be arriving home soon enough.
An hour later, Time escorted a sleepy Warriors to his apartment where Wind was cheerily waiting. After a few shared words and laughs and some hot chocolate, Time headed out. As he pulled into the long driveway leading up to the ranch, he saw a single light behind him and blew out a small sigh of relief - it was Sky's motorcycle, which meant he'd gotten there safely as well. Legend and Hyrule had carpooled separately, and he'd have to text them to confirm they were home.
When he finally parked the car and Sky pulled up beside him, Time turned on his phone. It vibrated once, twice, three, four, five, six times as he climbed out of the vehicle to check on Sky. Good grief, did the world end while I was driving?
It was probably the group chat.
Sky yawned as he pulled off his helmet, giving Time a tired smile.
"Hungry?" Time asked. "I'm sure Malon has something prepared."
"Food sounds nice," Sky hummed as he grabbed his luggage from the car and the pair made their way inside. While they walked, little details jumped out at Time, because no matter the situation or his level of calm or exhaustion, he couldn't not notice his surroundings.
Malon's car was missing. The gravel leading up to where it normally parked was tousled a little, like feet had shuffled back and forth.
Time paused.
Sky was unlocking the door, oblivious to the environment, but did note, "I wish they'd left the light on so I could see the key."
Lights. There were no lights. Not a single light in the house was on.
Time pulled out his phone, anxiety beginning to bubble in his chest.
He had multiple missed calls and more texts than could be displayed on the screen.
Sky entered the house just as Time unlocked his phone, and the pilot called confusedly, "Nobody's home!"
Hey. Tried to call but went straight to voicemail. Malon's sick. We're at the ER. She's stable, just dehydrated. Needs fluids. Don't know if staying overnight. She'll probably kill them first.
Time read the text from Twilight. The one, single, solitary text. The rest had been from Wild, who was anxiously giving update after update.
Then his phone started blowing up. Legend, Hyrule, Warriors, Four, and Wind were all texting now, having apparently just being told by Wild. Between that and the time stamps on the texts, they had just missed them.
Sky walked out slowly, phone in hand, likely reading similar information from the others. His head shot up immediately, eyebrows crinkled together in worry.
"Stay here," Time advised as he made his way back to the car, mind fixating on the issue.
"But--"
"Stay," Time insisted tersely. He wasn't entirely sure why he was so insistent on the matter, except that it gave him one less person to worry about if Sky wasn't perseverating on the matter alongside the surgeon himself as he drove to the hospital.
The drive felt like an eternity. He tried calling Twilight and got no answer, which only made him more worried. Wild wasn't answering either, and his persistent texts had stopped.
Twi just said she needed fluids, he tried to reassure himself. That's an easy fix.
But when had she gotten so ill that it was needed? What had happened? They'd only been gone a few days - what had he missed? He'd just talked to her yesterday, she'd seemed fine!
After an admittedly sloppy parking job in the garage, Time walked hastily into the emergency department, making his way past the triage desk and badging himself into the department. He caught sight of the status board and immediately found her name.
She was in one of the acute care areas. That was a good sign, at least. But the waiting room still had a few people in it, which meant she was higher priority than others. That could potentially be a bad sign.
His stomach churned even more as he tried to focus instead of spiral. He couldn't quite silence the pounding of his heart in his ears, he couldn't stop biting his tongue anxiously as he walked to her room. His usual, calm demeanor was quickly crumbling, and he was losing control of the situation fast.
When he reached her room, his phone buzzed just as he opened the door. He wasn't entirely sure how he would act, seeing his beloved wife in a stretcher, but the immediate wave of dizziness that slammed into him wasn't the first reaction he'd expected to have.
Time leaned heavily on the door, and Malon's surprised expression quickly changed to alarm. "Honey, I'm okay--"
"You're--" Time stammered, taking a shaky breath. "What's wrong?"
Twilight hastily walked up to him, guiding him to a chair beside her bed. He didn't quite notice Wild or Twilight for a moment, holding his wife's hand as she gave him a reassuring smile. It was less comforting than it should have been, given that her face looked drawn and tired and was drenched in sweat.
"I'm okay," she repeated tiredly. "Just a little sick. Threw up a lot. They gave me Zofran, so I'm doing better. Boy do I love that stuff."
"You look awful," Time blurted out. "You're pale, you're diaphoretic--"
"Oh stop spouting out an assessment," Malon hushed with a weak chuckle. "I'm just dehydrated. Couldn't hold anything down for a while. Look, see, they're giving me fluids now."
She held out her arm for inspection, and Time examined the 18G IV in her AC. She'd already gotten a 200mL bolus, and the fluids were still infusing. He looked at the monitor and saw the tachycardia, saw the hypotension, and he swallowed thickly.
Shock. She'd been going into shock.
"Do they know what's wrong?" he asked. "What's causing this?"
Malon blew out a dismissive breath. "Oh, just a bad stomach bug. Hit Wild earlier in the week."
Time immediately turned his attention to the two young men in the room, watching Wild shrivel into a corner. Twilight was strangely stiff, his expression closed off as his hand settled on Wild's shoulder.
"Boys," Malon directed at the pair. "Do you two mind getting me some water and a damp washcloth?"
The pair took the hint, exiting the room wordlessly and closing the door behind them.
"Link," Malon said gently, garnering her husband's attention. "I'm okay. I promise. You look paler than I do."
"I wasn't here," Time said suddenly, his voice choking up, his guilt and anxiety swirling in an uncomfortable mess of overwhelming emotions that he couldn't express in any given word. "You're sick. I'm--"
"You can't control everything, hon," Malon insisted. "Life isn't your OR."
Time bit back a rebuttal, because he knew she was right. It still made him feel utterly helpless, like he had been so, so long ago when he was a child. He hated it.
But he latched on to her words, latched on to the facts, latched on to the reality of the situation like he was in the OR. Because he could think in the OR, he could focus in the OR.
Malon is fine. She's sick, but she's stable. She was in shock but she's getting fluids. She's awake, her mental status is normal, she's oriented and talking to me.
"How are you feeling?" he finally asked.
Malon laughed. "Spoken like a true surgeon. Looking at the numbers before you look at your patient."
Time gave a pleading pout, though her little jab did cheer him up. If she was able to make quips about his patient care, then she wasn't feeling too terrible.
Then his wife sighed, leaning her head into the pillow and staring at the ceiling. "I'm tired. But not as nauseous as I was. And the fluids are helping. I knew I needed fluids. Figured I could handle it at home. Tried ginger ale, tried sprite, little sips of water between vomiting episodes, but I just couldn't keep anything down. I..."
Malon bit her lip, and the worried look on her face made Time's anxieties return tenfold.
"You what? What's wrong?" he asked quickly.
"I might've asked too much," Malon said, her voice shaking a little. "I just--I felt so ill, and I knew I was losing the fight with staying hydrated enough. I... I asked Twilight to do something I shouldn't have."
Time glanced out at the doorway, but with the curtain drawn he had no idea where the boys were. When he looked back at Malon, she was staring at the curtain too.
"What did you ask?" he prompted.
"I asked him to start an IV on me," Malon said finally, her expression falling further. "My hands were shaking too much, or I would've tried to just do it myself. I know he's just a basic EMT, but I also know he's done some tech work in the ED, so I figured the others had taught him how to start them. He... he really did try, but I was too dehydrated and the only vein he found blew, and... I think he feels bad about it. I shouldn't have asked him. But I was desperate and thought I could just fix it easily at home."
Time's eye traced along Malon's arm to see a small bruise that had developed from Twilight's attempt. He felt equal parts upset and concerned.
"This whole thing's a stupid mess," Malon grumbled. "The sooner I get some fluids the better. I think they'll just give me some ODT Zofran to go home and we'll be done."
She made it sound so normal. As if his wife weren't sitting in a hospital bed. As if his wife weren't so acutely ill she'd had a medical emergency.
Time spiraled a moment longer and then buried his face in his hand, leaning an elbow on the side rail of the stretcher. He and Malon had both seen and treated infinitely worse.
But it was different when it was a loved one.
This isn't even the first loved one you've seen in this position.
"I swear, you're all conspiring to each have a hospital stay," Time muttered, finally grounding himself in some levity as he squeezed his wife's hand.
Malon laughed at that. "Well, mine's less exciting than Twi almost blowing up his appendix. Or Sky getting shot. Or anything Wars has done."
"Wars didn't need an ED visit."
"Not yet, at least."
Time sighed, rubbing his face and then smiling at his wife. "Well. Either way. You're not getting out of bed for a few days."
Malon huffed, cheeks flushing in defiance. "I have things to do--"
"You're sick. I'm taking care of you."
"You? You're a surgeon! I'd be better off being taken care of by one of the barn cats!"
Time spluttered, "I can take care of my own sick wife!"
"You're not a nurse," Malon fired back. "You don't know how to take care of a patient, just how to fix them. There's a difference."
"Well, then, you'll just have to teach me," Time argued stubbornly, kissing her hand. "I'm taking care of you whether you like it or not."
Malon sighed, put out, and relented. Then she gave him a cheeky grin. "I'll be sure to demonstrate how you act when you're ill."
"Malon--"
"All the whining and moaning--"
"Malon, be merciful--"
"And the constant neediness--"
"That's just playing dirty and you know it."
His wife's laugh was far more energetic this time, giving him some peace in his still anxiously fluttering heart. Time took her hand in both of his once more, stroking it lovingly.
The peace of the moment was shattered when the curtain was nearly torn off its hooks as Legend led a stampede of young men into the room.
"Malon, are you okay--"
"Who's your physician, I'll make sure they're actually getting stuff done and moving things along--"
"Forget that, who's her nurse--"
"Are you hurting? Wild said your stomach hurt before--"
"Did the Zofran help?"
"Malon can we grab you anything?"
The pair stared at the group, overwhelmed for a moment, and then Malon smiled, eyes filling with tears. "I guess I have a lot of nurses taking care of me."
"You do," Time assured her, taking the damp washcloth out of Twilight's hands and placing it over her forehead. Malon hummed in contentment as she was surrounded by her husband and her boys, and despite the chaos of the area all around them, there was at least peace in one room in the emergency department that night.

Twilight of the Sandwiches Presents: A Brief History of Zim-Dib Team Ups
The first time the concept of a team-up between these two even came up was in the episode "Planet Jackers". Zim’s usual telescope was destroyed due to the ‘earth tremors’ and he needed another one to double-check his Suspicions of Planet Jacking. The Membrane family, naturally, had the only remotely-advanced-enough-telescope in the general vicinity. Probably the only remotely-advanced-enough-telescope on Earth, although Zim didn’t check. Zim at first refuses the idea of asking for Dib’s help, primarily out of his sense of pride.
Zim: We want to destroy these people, not ask them for help. The very thought makes me make little... sicky noises.
But GIR’s prodding and the urgent situation makes him quickly give in.
Tumblr media
However, Dib did not believe that Zim actually needed his help and that they had a common goal this time. Which, I mean, Zim wasn’t exactly the peak of tactfulness about this. He was clearly trying his best to Establish Dominance despite being the one asking for help.
Tumblr media
But Dib really refused to even engage with what he was saying.
Zim: We don't have time for this, Dib! Your world might be in very great danger! Dib: Well, yeah, you're trying to destroy the human race, remember?
So Dib shoos him out and… that’s basically the end of that. Zim takes out the Voot to check and handle the rest of the plot and the rescue of the human race on his own. Although Dib does get a brief moment at the end to maybe imply he realized that Zim wasn’t actually lying.
Tumblr media
From here, we need to jump to "Hamstergeddon". After Zim ‘loses control’ of Peepi and gets knocked unconscious briefly, Dib immediately recognizes that this is the perfect opportunity to capture him… but also that Zim is the only one capable of defeating Actual Current Legitimate Threat to Humanity Ultra Peepi. He starts debating whatever he should do… while Zim recovers all by himself, with no help from him (but a little help from GIR).
Tumblr media
But Dib does asks for Zim to work together this time, basically.
Dib: Wait, Zim! Promise me you're on our side this time. Zim: I know not of sides, Earth stink. But just this once I agree with you. The hamster must be stopped.
…Although in this case, ‘working together’ primarily seems to be an agreement to not actively sabotage each other while Zim is facing off against Ultra-Peepi. Dib does try to protect Zim from the military at one point, but he fails and I don’t think Zim was even really aware of it.
Not as much a proper teamup as much as, like, a brief truce so they can focus more on the More Important Current Threat. But with these two hateful losers, that’s sometimes as close as you’re gonna get. Plus, this is both the first time the teamup actually happened - and also the first time Dib was the one who suggested they’ll work together.
Also, it is important to note that Zim was the first one to break this brief truce. Even if just in the most petty of ways.
Tumblr media
From here we go to "Bolognius Maximus", similar to the ‘Planet Jackers’ situation - when Zim is Too Bologna to use his lab, he comes running to Dib and the Membrane Household Laboratory. This time, Zim is a lot more panicky and visibly desperate and less aggressive than he was in ‘Planet Jackers’ and Dib actually does understand why they need to team up.
Dib: Just this once... We work together! Dib: Mortal enemies working together for the common goal! Zim: Be quiet!
Dib’s dramatics make it sound like this is the first time they are working together and that… might be true? Depending on how you look at the Ultra Peepi Situation.
And this time, it is Dib who backstabs Zim first.
Tumblr media
And although his dialogue implies that he accuses Zim of backstabbing him as well. Like, that he deliberately made a faulty formula to entrap Dib or something. Zim’s response really does not make it seem likely.
Dib: Oh, you rotten alien monster! Zim: This inferior equipment! Irken babies play with more advanced toys!
I think Dib was just rationalizing his own betrayal by emphasizing how duplicitous and untrustworthy Zim is. Which… I mean, isn’t necessarily wrong. Zim is terrible. But at that little moment Dib has also proved that he can be just as terrible as Zim.
And as they devolve back into infighting, that little betrayal basically proves to be their undoing.
Tumblr media
Until the next episode starts and everything’s fine!
(maybe the implication is that the double-crossing and the infighting didn’t happen in the ‘canon’ version of these events where they did turn back to normal?)
We’re getting a bit of a roleswap here in "Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom"! This time it’s Dib who’s coming to Zim for help because Zim’s the only one on the planet with advanced enough equipment to help him!
Dib: You're the only one who can help! Zim: Help!?! You!?! Dib: My dad won't let me use his equipment and I need to reverse the effect! Zim: Help!?! You!?! Come to me, your greatest, most amazing enemy? Your future slave master and you ask for help!?! Dib: You're the only other person with the technology to—
However, Zim rejects Dib’s cry for help because, well, they are enemies and also Zim’s already hopped up on Halloween Paranoia.
However, once they both end up trapped in the Halloween Dimension, Dib does manage to quickly convince Zim that keeping him alive is mutually beneficial to both of them and they officially team up…
Tumblr media
…For like five seconds before Dib backstabs Zim again.
Tumblr media
But as Zim successfully escapes on his own and Dib is captured - Zim is forced to go back to save Dib for the sake of his own safety as well. Although he is very very not happy about it.
Tumblr media
(Screaming is Zim’s default. If he is actually quiet, then he is very serious and very angry.)
And as soon as he gets the desired use out of Dib’s head, he is quite happy to ‘return the favor’ and leave Dib to rot as well.
Zim: There! That should be wide enough! Dib: What about me!?! How do I get back!?! Zim: Good question! (pauses) But I don't care!
And when Dib does manages to get out without Zim's help, Zim makes it very clear that his desire for retribution is very very not satiated.
Zim: As soon as my skeleton stops being broken, I'm going to destroy you, Dib.
And now, for probably the most famous Zim-Dib team-up episode, "Tak: The Hideous New Girl"! So, once again, Zim’s technology is unavailable to him (this time, disrupted by Tak) and his only other choice is Dib and the Membrane Labs. And okay, to give some props to Zim, he did at least get better at explaining himself compared to ‘Planet Jackers’.
But that doesn’t help him against Dib’s stubbornness. Dib does want to investigate the Giant Evil Weenie Stand, but not enough to admit that Tak might not be trustworthy and that Zim, this time, is.
However, after getting a good look of Tak’s true nature, he, well… Zim and Dib still default to bickering with each other as second nature. But when Dib realizes he has a bargaining chip, he uses it to strike an alliance with Zim that both father his goals (learning more about Zim’s base) and serve their mutual goal of saving the earth.
Dib: Your base, our disk, Zim. Let us see the base.
Now, I wanted to say that this is actually the first time Zim and Dib teamed up without either of them double-crossing the other (although the fact they’ve done most of their teamwork by splitting off to take care of two different problems in two different arenas certainly helped).... But then I remembered “Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars” confirmed that Dib used that team-up as an opportunity to implant a spy-bug in Zim’s base. So I guess that would count as the betrayal for this little round of ‘teamwork’.
Now, in "Gaz, Taster of Pork" it’s once again Dib who is desperate enough to go to Zim for help. And this time, it’s Zim who utterly refuses to help him.
Tumblr media
(And also pretends that they’ve never teamed-up before.)
Tumblr media
Our last episode is "The Most Horrible X-mas Ever" and it's, well, both the last episode and a bit of an edgecase. Because when Dib came in charging against Santa, he thought he was still fighting against Zim. He had no idea that the suit had totally overwhelmed him and that he was basically saving his green ass.
But still, Zim saw Dib’s attack as an opportunity to overpower Santa and disable it, and Dib was at least capable of, like, reflexively putting their animosity aside to take his advice on how to defeat Santa for good (or so they thought).
Zim: Now, Dib! Throw it into space!
But also, as soon as Santa was defeated - Zim immediately used the opportunity to start a new plan based, or at least involving, sending an enraged mob after Dib while he was distracted.
Tumblr media
So… what have we learned from all these stories of loose alliances and frequent betrayals? To be honest.... I have seen a lot of misconceptions in the IZ Fandom about the history of Zim-Dib Teamups. Like, I have seen multiple people claim that when Zim and Dib teamed up, Zim was always the one to initiate the team up, Dib was always the one to turn him away, and Dib was always the first one to break the alliance and double-cross Zim. And I was just like ‘hmmm… that doesn’t sound quite right. I think I need to double-check that’.
I believe this overview shows that, like… when it comes to initiating or rejecting alliances, these two's scores are pretty evenly-matched (depending on your definition of ‘teamup’ you can shift the scale a little in Zim’s favor, but it’s still like… an episode’s difference). And while it is true that Dib is more prone to backstabbing Zim during a teamup, it is also not a 100% absolute consistent trend as much as like a three-out-of-five cases sort of thing.
While Dib’s distrust, paranoia and absolute lack of qualms with betraying the trust of his enemy-turned-ally does showcase that he’s a lot more pragmatic and morally-gray than your Average Heroic Children’s Cartoon Boy Protagonist (or to put it bluntly, Dib is kind of an asshole) - that doesn’t mean Zim has any sort of moral or honorable high ground in those situation. Because Zim is ALSO an asshole!
Dib is not worse than Zim on the subject of team-ups and betrayals, but also... being about evenly-matched with Zim is still a pretty condemning position to be in, especially for a self-styled Heroic Savior of Humanity! But he's not worse, that is important to remember.
This little overview also serves as an interesting timeline of the way the Zim-Dib Teamups have developed and changed. In the sense that you can see how it takes them both a little while to even consider that idea an option (and yeah, admittedly, Zim gets there before Dib does). But once they do, teamups (or at least suggestions of teamups) suddenly become more frequent . It’s less of, like, a gradual process as much as, like, a switch turning as soon as they realize that going to each other for help is an option - even if it is a very desperate one.
And one last thing I noticed going over all of these episodes is… well, I said that Zim is not significantly more honorable or trustworthy or loyal when it comes to teamups with Dib, and I still think that’s true. But… he is actually significantly more reasonable.
And by that I mean, every time Zim goes to Dib for help - it is for a mutually beneficial goal. Whatever it’s something that will save both of their lives, or to protect the Earth from a competing invading/destructive force. And he always mentions that mutually-beneficial aspect to Dib directly.
Zim: We don't have time for this, Dib! Your world might be in very great danger!
Zim: You know, it would benefit you as well.
Zim: It seems the enemies have a common enemy: Tak! She's Irken and she's after my job and your planet.
Which sounds like a ridiculously low-bar to clear… except that Dib, usually the more grounded and clear-minded of these two rivals, often fails to clear it. He sometimes just goes to Zim with problems that Zim has no motivation to help him with and fails to argue why he should outside of the fact that it would be bad for Dib. The person that Zim hates.
Dib: Wait, Zim! Promise me you're on our side this time.
Dib: You're the only one who can help!
Zim: That's a good one! Help you?! Why should I help you? Dib: Hey! I helped you when we were transforming into giant bolognas!
I mean, that’s not an absolute thing. Dib does sometimes seem to understand the concept of ‘if you want this guy that hates your guts to help you, you should offer him something he also needs in return’.
Dib: Your base, our disk, Zim. Let us see the base.
But it is notable that this total disregard to the question of ‘what would my enemy get out of helping me?’ seems to be his default response, especially when he is panicky and upset. And especially as this is a Dib-exclusive problem that Zim doesn’t seem to have. Despite Zim's defining traits being his irrational egoism.
Clearly it’s not an issue of morality. Like, it’s not a matter that Zim sees everything in terms of self-interest but Dib doesn’t comprehend why someone wouldn’t want to help a person in need because he’s just too darn gosh goody good. Because, as we’ve discussed already… Dib might be better than Zim - but he is absolutely a pragmatic, spiteful asshole in his own right. And he clearly understands why he wouldn’t want to help Zim without there being something in there for him.
Really, what that reminds me of the most is… that Dib also kinda does that Thing with Gaz. Dib constantly forgets that she has her own desires and motivations and that she kinda hates him. And he just kinda assumes that she's always ready to help him with anything if he just asks her too.
Dib: Good work Gaz! What you've been fighting is actually a robot controlled by Zim! Now you've gotta rescue me! I'm at the warehouse! It's twenty-
Even if she literally just finished beating to a pulp a robot that she thought was him.
Tumblr media
You know, it’s his Main Character Syndrome. Dib thinks of himself as the Brave Hero Defending Against an Alien Invasion, and so he just assumes that his own needs and desires self-evidently triumph the needs and desires of everyone else. So much so that he keeps forgetting that Gaz thinks this is stupid and is always pissed at him for disregarding her needs and desires.
But… are these interactions in “Halloween Spectacular” and “Gaz, Taster of Pork’ imply that Dib’s self-centeredness is so bad that he can literally forget that his sworn enemy, his own internal justification for being self-centered, also does not inherently want to help him???

Note
May I request #18 with Edward from Twilight? Please and thank you!
Absolutely, Okay so this is an x reader...Maybe Vamphunter!reader? So Bella isn't here. Either pre canon or AU. Up to you! Also, I took some liberties on the prompt lol.
Prompt 18: Lost in the woods, you're tired, thirsty and desperate when you stumble across a strange cabin.
CW: Observing?
Some time ago all the trees began to look the same. Some had orange and green leaves and others had green and orange leaves.
The knots had begun to look like eyes, watching you wander endlessly in circles. If they could speak would they laugh?
It was just like the forest to do something like that. When you listen closely you could almost hear it. A twinging laughter for the one that is always lost.
Except. you could hear it. Or hear... something.
You stumbled forward following the tinkling sound. Your steps soften to better listen, but the crunch of leaves beneath your boots echos around the forest.
A moment the breeze stops and you lose the sound but soon it is found again. The melody brings you to a windchime made of old spoons. the rain gutter from which it hangs from sags off the side of a dilapidated cabin.
Excitement exhausts the last of your hydration. Hours earlies your lips had taken on a sticky feeling but even that has left you. There was a single gulp of water left in your bottle and it was reserved for deaths door.
And here it was. The door was weathered wood, potentially built from something grown here in this forest. It looked like it might have been painted once but the hue of it decayed with the rest of the structure.
Dirt caked on the windows making inside impossible to decipher.
Your gloved hand knocks, twinging your tired muscles.
There was a shuffle, a few seconds of silence then slowly the door began to open.
It only cracks as far as to see half the face of its occupant. He looks at you wearily. "Can I help you?"
The air in your mouth sticks the word to your cheeks. Oh to be found.
"Do you have water?" you ask.
His brow knits. "No, sorry."
You look around tiredly. "Okay, do you have a phone I can borrow?"
He peers up at the burning sky. Light was a commodity minutes to diminishing. Soon the sky would wash itself of the day and night would prepare the hours.
He looks around. "Are you alone?"
Your lips pinch shut while you look for a safe thing to say. "uh-"
"Come in out of the dark." The words were not inherently welcoming. More annoyed than anything.
The exterior was generous with its interior perimeter. Somehow the lack of furniture made it feel smaller. Like a box made for animals.
Nothing but a singular chair, writing table, and a plethora of books kept the walls company.
Nothing of note. Mostly fiction and all of a similar sorrowful genre.
There was no food, no water, no electricity. Candles lining the two windows keeping the shadows from swallowing us whole.
"Cozy," you say.
He offers you the singular chair lowering himself onto the floor. "I don't often have guests."
You can't help but nod. "So what are you doing out here, in the middle of nowhere?"
He was gangly. Limbs folding over one another like sticks angling in odd directions. Despite this he was beautiful. The kind that would have sent sailors overboard, but in the most inhumane way it could be said. Or thought.
There was an imperfection that kissed humans. we were etched with trials and victories but mostly folly.
His skin was wiped of everything that could be traced with an intimate finger or fussed over. He was ethereal.
He regard of you was delt with a sense of healthy suspicion, but he saw no threat in you. It was true that your lack of direction brought you to him, but the question still remained.
Who found who?
"we're hardly in the middle of nowhere," He says, "The town in two miles east."
You slowly blink at him. "Thant can't be true."
He nods. "Just outside of Honeyville. Why are you here in the "Middle of nowhere?""
There was no answer that you could give that wouldn't warrant a good, thorough teasing. You sift though excuses in your mind.
Hiking trip gone mostly wrong, cryptid hunting, mushroom foraging-
He stares at you, smile growing and fading with each passing second.
Almost as if her can read-
"Got lost on a stroll."
He hums. "A stroll? Not cryptid hunting?"
Your brow lifts and you tilt your head. "Why, know of any in need or hunting? I'm more of an observing type myself."
He leaned forward his fingers lacing together in his lap like tree branches "Are you observing me?"
You straightened your spine. "Maybe I am."
"And what have you discovered?"
There were as many paths before you as there were trees just outside the front door. Lies, truths, half-truths, white lies, distraction, misdirect-
"you've lost your way," you say finally, "Found yourself separated from the pack. If I had to guess, I'd say, self-punishment?"
His eyes are focused souly on you when you look up. There was a glint of amusement, but more than that, there was unadulterated curiosity. "You are observant."
The tips of your lips turn up as you take the full water bottle from your pack. "So I've been told."
He leans back in his chair imitating a sigh. "So, do I get to know who sent you?"
The water stings coating your throat all the way down your chest. Getting lost really was the bane of your existence. "Does it matter?"
He shrugs. "I suppose not, though I am interested in how you found me."
"There was no need. It's a skill of mine. Get lost, something will get found."
"So what now?" He stands stepping closer until your knees knock against his calves. "Do we fight to the death?"
You sigh a heavy thing. "Didn't you hear me? I'm not really a fighter, besides I'm exhausted and-" you take three button mushrooms from your pack. "I'm starving."

Love Wins All by IU (been crying over this music video for days now. it's beautiful) KinnPorsche theme by Slot Machine: Kinn's theme [aka Phiang Waichai; TH] | Porche's theme [aka Free Fall; Eng] (first of all this is one of the catchiest theme songs to exist second only to SPECIALZ aka the JJK s2 op i'm also particularly losing my mind over how the two themes are love letters to the main characters from each other... the narrative parallels of it all are driving me insane sldkhlaksjkshs) Dum Dum by Jeff Satur + the Live Unchained version where his vocals are heavenly (maybe im so drawn to this song because the chorus is similar to the melodic motifs of the KPTS themes/soundtrack, either way, the show introduced me to him and god. I've been voraciously consuming his discography.) Ghost by Jeff Satur (on repeat all week. thoroughly obsessed with this song- the lyricism, his voice, the storyline in the MV, his acting, everything. wow. truly.)

[Jan 22 to 28 ; week 4/52 || I. love. my. internship. like. I have been having the most fun time problem solving and troubleshooting. it's also super satisfying to see the outcome of my code. it's been a while since I used python (I've been coding on C) so I forget that python has a lot of inbuilt functions that would do the same tasks I inadvertently entrust my nested loops with, and finding out about them is always so joyous (although it means I have to scrap off several chunks of code). i am a bit annoyed though, because the other intern isn't really doing any work that we're entrusted with so I'm having to carry the team and it's taking me too much time. but oh well. I've suggested we split tasks from next week, hopefully that'll make things better.
I've also been procrastinating a lot when it comes to my masters applications and it really hit me this week when I had to run to uni several times to get things approved and completed. Now that I'll get to work from home I need to set up a proper schedule to get application work completed wayy in advance. also need to resume my GRE prep from next week.]

Omg random thought but its too cute/funny (to me) not to share
Context: Time is married to s/o, who he’s known since like the beginning of his adventures. His s/o took the role of a rebellion leader during the seven years he was asleep and is just a badass.
Imagine for some reason, the chain encounters a younger version of Time (like late teens/early 20’s) who is a slightly more childish and playful. They end up naming him Mask due to the hoard of masks he carries. The group thought it would be best if Mask wasnt aware his relation to the old man, a secret surprisingly hard to keep! One night before the boys went to bed the topic of love interests got brought up. (No clue how, probably Sky talking about his Zelda or Wild reminiscing about the few memories he has with Mipha)
During most of the conversation, both Mask and Time stayed quiet. The latter for obvious reasons but the former not so much. Suddenly a loud groan is emitted from the younger man, who in tandem, throws himself back onto the grass in a dramatic gesture. When asked if he’s alright by one of the boys, they are met with another groan. The camp falls silent for a moment before Mask sits up once again and moans about how he wishes he could confess to the intimidating leader that has won over his heart.
He continues to rant about how stunning and majestic they are. How inspiring and strong they’ve become. How they could -and would-beat him in any fight. Yet he sorrowfully proclaims how even though he’s the hero of his hyrule, they would never share the same feelings. “ How could they? They could win the hand of anyone of their choosing with just a glance.
While this is happening all the boys are TRYING SO HARD NOT TO SAY ANYTHING. Sky and Wind are trying to reassure Mask that he absolutely has a chance. Warriors and Legend have to step away as to not bust out laughing at the dramatic scene. Wild and Hyrule distract themselves with what remains of their dinner (but their also this 🤏 close to losing it). Four is side eyeing Time HARD (like “this was you? Cmon man”) and poor Twilight looks so like he’s about to give away the whole secret.
“But where’s Time?” you ask. At the beginning, Time had to lower his head to block the view of the mass cringe on his face. But once Mask had quieted down slightly, he cant help the gentle smile as he caresses his wedding band. Mask might not know his story but Time does, and he’d do it all again for those moments you’ve shared together.
I LOVE THE IDEA THAT YOUNGER TIME WAS SUCH A SIMP BUT IS LIKE “OH THEYD NEVER CHOOSE ME 😭😭😭” AND OLDER TIME IS JUST LIKE “why did they chose me” WHILE SIDE EYEING THE FUCK OUT OF MASK FOR BEING SO DRAMATIC.
anyways, love your stuff! Take care of yourself 🥰
(thank you 🥰🥰)
Twilight also cringing just as hard. "There's no way we can be related. I was never like that. I have to get it from my other side. It's drowned out. Replaced. There's no way there's any similarities."
Wild: My god, you're his spitting image.
Wind is holding back giggles as he pats Mask on the back. "Maybe you'll just grow old and never confess-"
"Wind please." Sky smacks his hand.
"And then you can adopt a nice bird or puppy and you'll have the train them with tricks and treats and get a new friend every twenty years-"
"You are not helping!"
Mask just groans louder. "Nevermind. I'm going to die alone. Leave me to my misery."

Love how you handled the different Zeldas in your Advent fic. And how you write Link in Rootsverse, it's exactly how I see him in this era. Do you have any thoughts about the other Links in other games? How they compare/contrast with botw/totk's Link?
Oh thank you!! 😊 Glad to hear that!!!
Boy do I have thoughts.
I guess- I should say that the way I wrote Link in Roots is definitely not how I’d imagine him to be in cannon. If only because I feel Nintendo values the self-insert aspect of the Zelda games too much to let the character stray very far from the “stoic hero” archetype. If anything, the Link I wrote in Undertow is the most similar to how I’d imagine his canon self to be- largely just due to how he doesn’t outright reject his responsibilities (pre calamity at least. I do subscribe to the idea that he’s much louder and funnier after losing his memories).
Agh- but anyway lol see my rambling below.
Starting with Ocarina of Time (OoT), that version of Link is definitely sadder than the others. He had a pretty good childhood, but his adult life fell apart in much more profound ways than the others’. He’d be as quiet as pre calamity botw Link. There might be a hint of the mischievous fairy kid still left in him, but very little. Lots of longing and disillusioned feelings that would maybe be best replicated in pre calamity Botw Link, yeah?
As for Twilight Princess (TP) Link, he’s a country guy 110%. I imagine he’d be too restless to go back to farming though- not after the world got so big. I assume he’d be a great guy to talk to, best with kids/animals, probably one of the most well adjusted after all his trials and a good pen pal to Zelda. He wouldn’t be as lively after losing Midna, definitely, but he’s doing leagues better than OoT Link. Probably has a much more dry, sarcastic sense of humor than Botw Link’s “He has a dumb belly” absurdist comedy.
Wind Waker (WW) Link- at a glance I’d almost say he’d get along with Botw Link, but after more thought I think WW Link would despise him. Botw Link would willingly eat rocks or stuff himself in an explosive barrel for jokes, but WW Link would either have to be tricked or forced into it. He seems… high anxiety. But also irritable. He has the most common sense out of all the Links and that is probably exactly what his problem is. I don’t know why, but I get the feeling that most animals would attack WW Link on sight because of his constant bad, exasperated energy.
As for Skyward Sword— lol I think he’s so funny. I think growing up with Zelda “the Goddess turned teenage girl” would have had an impact on him. By far he is the most stable, most extroverted version of Link, but I think there’s something about him that would make him unknowable. He’s so relaxed but upbeat at the same time, seems like he’s always up to something but nobody ever knows what since he’s always asleep. He doesn’t have a thought in his head but he’s so perceptive too just- he’s just odd. But cool. Botw Link’s extreme stoicism pre calamity and crazy behavior post calamity would both stand out a lot next to SS Link. Yet his relationship with Botw Zelda most closely resembles SS Link’s with his own.
I’m not very familiar with the other 3DS Links etc so I can’t say much about them. These are also the vibes I get from how I remember all these Links after 10 years of not playing their games, so I could be wrong in how I’ve described them for sure.
Lol either way thank you for asking! I was a fun question to think about! It makes me want to write a reverse Advent featuring all of them ugh 😭😂

What would you say are the boys' most embarrassing kinks, or things they'd never try IRL but still kind of enjoy?
HA. I like this ask. I'm just gonna call everyone out one by one.
Hella kink mentions beneath the cut, some of which may squick some readers, so be warned. Sure wish I could use spoiler text on tumbl.
Time - Our man has such a lactation kink it's not even funny. And he would simply rather die than anyone learn of this. But it's something Malon would tease him with that he found out actually really turned him on, since he's such a fan of boobs. Good luck in Gerudo town, man, they're all taller than you and you're gonna have a lot of trouble keeping eye contact...
Twilight - He'd be lying if he said he'd never considered what it would be like to be restrained in cross-ties, or tied up in a pile of straw in a barn stall, or hidden away in a hay loft and subjected to a group of horny guys with full access to his body to do whatever they wanted with him. With the guise that Twilight doesn't want it, of course, because for so long he's been trying to play it straight.
Wild - I'm not sure he has any secret kinks, honestly. Wild is going to make a list and check them all off as he tries them one by one. YOLO and all.
Champion - The idea of being called up in front of his Guard class and ordered to perform sexual acts to a superior in full view of everyone is something Champion quietly finds very, very sexy. Being objectified in front of others is something he would absolutely abhor in real life, but in the privacy of his own mind he finds it fun.
Sky - Breeding kink. Which is especially fun considering his "job" when he is the first to marry one of the Hyrulean princesses of this generation. Talk about living the dream. Ooo a Sky x all the princesses kink fic would be fun...
Warriors - Similar to Champion but less exhibitionist in nature, it is War's secret I-will-never-act-on-this fantasy to be restrained somehow in public and used by strangers. On his knees at a busy local pub, or chained up in a public toilet, or the classic oops-I-got-stuck-in-this-wall-somehow scenario, doesn't matter how or where. The idea of being suddenly trapped in an intimate scenario with a stranger just makes War's blood burn.
Legend - Like Time, Legend would simply rather die than admit to his kink, but he has a private cuck fantasy. Something about being tied up and forced to watch as his lover is ravished by another man (or woman) just drives Legend insane with need. It scratches that itch of jealousy and desire at the same time. (Fun for us, he'll get to live out that fantasy somewhat in upcoming LMTCOY chapters.)
Hyrule - Hyrule sure would love to be suspended in bondage. He's heard about the euphoria associated with body suspension and is curious, for sure, but he'd much rather he tied up in rope to swing aimlessly for hours and hours, head empty and feeling completely supported in rope. Talk about an endorphin release.
Wind - This boy wants to get pegged so bad it makes him look stupid. He's so mouthy and sour and uptight, but the second a pretty girl talks down to him and makes him get down on his knees, Wind is absofuckinglutely going to lose it. And when she makes fun of him for that, he's going to be hard again already.
Four - Fucking machines. Something about the precision and predictability of stimulation afforded by a machine appeals to Four in a deep way. He'd be in control of the entire encounter, even though it feels like someone else is having their way with him, so it makes him feel comfortable. But it's not something he's interested enough in sex to actually do the work to put together.
Dark - Like Wild, he is also one to just act on all of his lewd fantasies. He's brought people home from the bar to use him, to handcuff him to the bed, hell he's even tried knife play more than once. If it's dangerous and painful and maybe a little bit stupid, Dark is so in.

Tag 9 people you want to get to know better.
Thank you so much for tagging me again in one of these @waitmyturtles, they're so fun to do!!
Three Ships
Suffering from some recency bias and don't really think in terms of "ships" anymore so I turned to my CHEMISTRY list on MDL to help... agonized over my choices and finally picked:
TinnGun/GunTinn (My School President) - they're just too wonderful. So sweet, and it's great to see a show embrace embarrassing teen crush behavior in a gay kid without making it weird. Tinn's BL-trope filled daydreams had me in stitches. Almost chose PatPran but that's too easy, I have to honor their successors!
Seo Joon x Ji Woo (To My Star) - love them so much. Relate way too much to Ji Woo and them together? So heartwarming. Despite some of the contrivance of their typical Kdrama split in season 2 I still love the way they reconcile and work their shit out.
Hira x Kiyoi (Utsukushii Kare/My Beautiful Man) - talk about recency bias, I'm currently watching season 2 and couldn't resist putting them here. They're just SO well-written. Accurate portrayal of the long-term effects of C-PTSD and the messiness of miscommunication sans lazy writing? Sign me up!!
First Ship
Romione (Harry Potter series) - I know, I know, don't @ me but I still have a soft spot for them despite everything
Last Song
Woof Woof (Live Version) - SHINee
Last Movie
Shake! Otis at Monterey (1987; dir. D.A. Pennebaker)
Currently Reading
Nothing much, honestly. Beginning of the year was HECTIC but hopefully March will give me some time to read. The fanfiction I have open in a tab on my phone is "honey, let me show you where your heart is" by sarahyyy. Cute Guardian one-shot!
Currently Watching
Guardian
Utsukushii Kare (Season 2)
I Promised You the Moon (finally on Viki so I'll be starting this soon!)
Moonlight Chicken - I decided to wait until this was over to watch to preserve my mental health. Despite my love/respect for Aof's work I am very very wary when any show or film either exclusively or in part centers around a story which heavily involves disability. In some ways this apprehension is similar to my aversion to sad endings in LGBTQ+ stories (unless it's earned!). Been burned WAY too much fictionally and IRL. 2023 seemingly is the year Aof decided to make shows about my two most central disabilities, deafness and blindness (Last Twilight even tackles someone LOSING their sight, seriously, Aof? What do you have against me?). Heart's story looks like it's being done responsibly/well (or well enough, considering this is the first of its kind in the genre, maybe Thailand as a whole?) so I am excited to jump into it soon!!
On that note, I plan on writing along with each episode my thoughts on Heart's storyline vis-à-vis Deaf representation. Commentary on his arc has been surprisingly decent especially amongst the people I follow (I knew I chose well) but the tendency to overly pity or infantilize him along with a general misunderstanding of Deafness made me realize I don't think I'll be able to keep my mouth shut when I watch, so. Keep an eye out for that if you're interested. Thai Sign Language was developed in part from ASL (ergo, part of the same language family) so I'm also planning to dive into what I've learned about the language and its similarities! :)
Currently Consuming
Leftover Thai food my best friend foisted on me, I forget what it's called but it's some kind of thick rice noodle dish. Very good!!
Currently Craving
Motivation, sleep, an end to the anxiety which has been plaguing me since the beginning of the year, better glasses. Ice cream sounds good too.
TAGS! No pressure!
I have no idea who to tag, so just flying by the seat of my pants here: @squeakygeeky, @absolutebl, @shesarealphony, @lesbianlovestay, @cinematicnomad, @i-just-wanted-hyphens, @bulkhummus, @anonyma13, @stillqueerstillhere

👁️ 👁️ you have my attention and my desire to draw Bad Girl's resurrección
firstly; if you do draw bad girl's resurrección, I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT!! it's such a specific concept of 'characters in UAA being espada/arrancar' but it has UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES.
I can already visualise a version of Alice Twilight but her weapons are essentially bone and/or wearing skeletal armour.
GOSH imagine Bad Girl but her bat is spiked or that she can summon barbed wires (brain is thinking about how in death match wrestling the bat is ALWAYS wrapped in barbed wire + set on fire).
these are like two ideas but MAN if you do draw bad girl's resurrección i'd LOVE to see it!
also more thoughts down below about this silly incoherent au that I'm now taking seriously...
secondly; i know with an au such as this that people would instantly think 'Oh Travis becomes a soul reaper like Ichigo' BUT that's not what i want to do with this AU - it feels a little predictable to do such a thing. It also kind of hogs the spotlight away from other characters that otherwise don't get as much central focus. For that reason I'd probably give the central role to either Shinobu or Kimmy Howell.
On one hand Shinobu's dad is canonically dead/murdered in NMH1 and you can make the case of 'he was killed by an espada or even by the soul society', because he was an ex-espada or ex-soul society member who had dirt on the respective associations (really depends on what route you want to go in). you can have her run into travis, a soul reaper who is tasked to operate in Santa Destory because the rate of spirit energy there has gone up and it's attracting hollows - and so you can have the same old thing of Rukia's powers get transferred to Ichigo'' but the genders are reversed and now Shinobu has to take on the role of being a substitute soul reaper. And Travis is just. panicking on getting back to soul society in time.
As for Kimmy, you can have her belong to a family of well renowned musicians but anytime she plays music at home, school, in a professional setting or even in a musical instrument shop, she starts seeing ghosts. This can sort of explained as 'ghosts find classical music to be soothing especially for ones that haven't made their way to the other side yet.' Maybe during a professional performance at Santa Destroy Stadium a hollow comes rushing in because of the mass gathering of ghosts/souls that haven't passed on to the next realm and it puts so many people in danger that in this specific AU you have maybe both Travis and Shinobu show up - and things just spiral from there.
Have Travis play rukia's role. Have him be the fish out of water. have him be the one to lose his powers in order to help shinobu or kimmy fight any hollow attack. have him tag along as an reluctant mentor figure to shinobu or kimmy. i think that's a genuinely missed opportunity that the NMH series didn't take seriously or not as seriously as I wanted it to, because it does provide genuine development to travis as a character and as a person. he is capable of doing a lot more good than he thinks, its just that his way of doing so is through violence.
I mentioned that I think Sylvia should take up Urahara's role, because on one hand I think they're both similar in a way that they kinda pull the strings a lot for specific events to happen. But a bunch of other characters like Thunder Ryu, Dr. Juvenile or Dr. Naomi could take this role too. This one is kind of a wild card, so any input on this one would be great.
Henry takes Ishida's role obviously but without the brashness of 'HEY LETS SUMMON A BUNCH OF HOLLOWS AND PUT PEOPLE IN DANGER. ' rather, Henry here takes a 'break glass in case of emergency' type fire power. I feel that he has an idea of what's going on at the UAA, but underestimates how wide of a problem it is (i.e. everyone there is an Arrancar/Espada).
That's ALL i have at the moment BUT if anyone has some ideas or thoughts about this AU LET ME KNOW.

Many people talk about how Warriors had to know everyone due to the war, but the guy lost everyone too! 😭 He lost soldiers in the war and lost everyone who returned to their own time. People talk about Legend's loss and Twilight's but poor Wars lost everyone! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 the poor guy isn't just used to betrayal but awful loss too.
oh for sure! and im sure he had many friends who were just soldiers and not huge named characters who he lost in battles, or some of them are probably still around
i think a lot of people tend to focus more on the named characters he knows though since they either maybe didn’t play his game or want to have something to connect him to the others with, and him knowing Midna and (if you count the bonus characters) Marin gives him something to share with Twi and Legend even if he didn’t lose Midna and Marin in the same way (though im sure he was still sad to say goodbye)
i think also just the brutality of war is an experience he had that the others didn’t really? like Wild as a knight may have had a similar experience but he doesn’t remember a whole lot of it, and the others just haven’t experienced WAR in the same way, which brings all its own issues
and yes he definitely lost a lot of friends but!! he still has people in his life who support him, he’s not completely left alone he still has his Zelda (whatever their relationship is they are at the very least friends of some kind), Impa, Lana, and again all those soldiers he was friends with who LIVED

I don’t love you- my chemical romance
“WHEN YOU’RE GONE WOULD YOU EVEN TURN TO SAY I DONT LOVE YOU LIKE I DID YESTERDAY”

This song is our anthem, I may be the one who made it our top song of 2022 in only two months time but this is just a song for the whole system.
The World we Knew- sayonara wild hearts soundtrack
“I’ll treasure any fragments left behind”
Yeah man …. Yeah. Cannot put into words the emotions this song inflicts on me. Both the game version and the demo version have a Vice grip on my brain and I constantly find myself belting out “they say begin again, they say begin again, I’ll take any fragments I can find.” Man.jpeg minato family guy death pose emoji and I know you get it, dear asker you feel this song in your soul like I do.
