Anyway, my favorite princess is my Sionia ("The Beauty of the Heart" on tapas, deviantart or Ao3)

All my princesses have resilience and determination, even the "damselle in distress" ones. But Sionia have something more.

She never have been loved by a ton of peoples, like the other pretty princesses. But she choose to stay sweet when others would have choosen to become a villain and take revenge.

She's the proof that you don't have to makes other peoples suffer like you suffered yourself. That will never bring you anywhere.

She have been choosen, not for her beauty, like most of princess, but for her gentleness and wisdom.

i recognize that simon and edwin meeting and parting in hell is narratively very good and provides closure for all. but imagine if simon had agreed to try and escape with edwin. and charles doesn't have time to really question it, because anybody who likes edwin is aces in his book and it's hell, they need to leave. (edwin, out of courtesy to their third companion, puts his plan to confess on hold until they've escaped.)

suddenly the edwin harem of "supernatural boys who all hate each other but are attracted to that negative rizz" gains another member, and at some point edwin is going to have to mention that simon was the boy who sacrificed him to hell.

the chaos. crystal's bitchy commentary. charles going from friendly smiling to clutching his cricket bat. niko's whispering "200k slow burn schoolboy rivals to lovers" with heart eyes. it'd be chef's kiss good. edwin fleeing to his books and praying that nobody, but especially not the cat king, finds him because there has been SO MUCH emotion already. hysterical.

Bridgerton states from season one, through Simon and Lady Danbury, to season two, with the Sharmas, to Queen Charlotte, from the beginning episode to the end spelled out clear as day, that racism exists in this world and many of the characters of colors have been impacted by it in some way. Alright, fair I guess. I don't see him as gay I guess. Franky and Robin just feel so... intertwined. Besides the fact that he's the one who puts a crack in the shell that ultimately ended with her wanting to live, their stories work really well together. He loved weapons so much he turned himself into one and she was feared and hunted down for "being" one. It's poetic if not romantic. They also have really cute banter that feels like they're very comfortable with one another and it's pretty frequent. They're just deeply connected to me and whether or not that's in a shipping sense, that's entirely up to you.

I've been thinking about the tragedy of Elizabeth Woodville living to see the end of her family name.

I don't mean her family with her husband, which lived on through her daughter and grandson. I mean her own.

Her sisters died, one by one, many of them after 1485. When Elizabeth died, only Katherine was left, and she would die before the turn of the century as well.

All her brothers died, too. Lewis died in childhood. John was executed. Anthony was murdered. Lionel died suddenly in the peak of Richard's reign, unable to see his niece become queen. Edward perished at war. Richard died in grieving peace. For all the violence and judgement the family endured, it was "an accident of biology" that ended their line: none of the brothers left heirs, and the Woodville name was extinguished. We know the family was aware of this. We know they mourned it, too:

“Buy a bell to be a tenor at Grafton to the bells now there, for a remembrance of the last of my blood.”

Elizabeth lived through the deposition and death of her young sons, and lived to see the end of her own family name. It must have been such a haunting loss, on both sides.
