“Well, I would like to talk about that story with the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission and the warning they issued against AEW when we featured Nyla Rose on a show in Oklahoma City last December.  I was really surprised by this; it was not something I was expecting and of course, I was disappointed by the commission’s position by that warning, I don’t think we did anything wrong. I’m really, really shocked by it.
I don’t think there should be discrimination against transgender wrestlers or transgender people at all. They have rights, and to that end, I absolutely stand by Nyla Rose. AEW stands by Nyla Rose and all transgender people who want to play sports. And this is wrestling, there was nothing wrong with it.
Nyla Rose is a great wrestler, she’s a great world champion and I love Nyla. I love working with Nyla and she’s been a great part of our history, she was the first transgender world champion ever, and she’s a great part of the AEW Together program. She does a ton for the community, she’s a great person with a great heart.
She’s very supportive of the other wrestlers, one of the funniest people on social media; I’ve personally nominated Nyla to TBS for the best social media presence on more than one occasion over the years. She’s an AEW original, she’s been part of this team since 2019, going back to the first year of AEW, the first shows, and the first Dynamite.
And look at everything Nyla has accomplished, and to just put that label on her, it’s just not right. She’s much more than that. She’s a great athlete and I hope everybody can look at Nyla and see that she’s a great wrestler and she deserves the same chances as everybody else. And if the AEW locker room — which consists of people from all over the world, all kinds of different backgrounds, beliefs — if everybody in the locker room can embrace Nyla, I would hope that the Oklahoma Commission could do the same thing.”

LGBTQ+ / QUEER FOLK: IF YOU HAVE UNITED HEALTHCARE YOU NEED TO READ THIS.
I received a denial letter from then today saying that they would not cover a medication due to my "Transsexualism"
This insurance company has fought me at every step of the way, and now in pride month they used this outdated, disrespectful term for me. I called today to file a complaint with little success.
If you are Queer and looking for insurance, stay away from United Healthcare.

You have a complex relationship with your body and need to keep some/all of your clothes on during sex?
That's okay, what you're wearing looks good on you.
You need to take a lot of breaks doing anything intimate because you're easily overwhelmed?
I understand, I'm just happy to be here with you.
You're on medication that impacts your libido/makes reaching orgasm really difficult?
No pressure, tell me what feels good for you, and if you get frustrated we can do something else together.
Sex isn't going to look the same for everybody and that's fine, that's normal.
Sometimes you don't orgasm, sometimes you need to stop because your mood changes out of nowhere, sometimes you get really self conscious and need accommodations to take your mind off of it.
People are too complex for everybody to go about it the same, just keep doing what feels best for you, regardless of how different it may seem from other people's experiences.

whenever right wing people talk about “parental rights” they are talking about property rights. they are arguing for further political and legal enshrinement of their children as their literal actual property

Thinking about those claims that “trans women have to spend hours getting ready to pass but trans men just have to throw on a hoodie” while reading this full chapter about how to pass as a trans guy in Lou Sullivan’s book. Much of it requires being very wealthy to get the right clothes (and wear nothing colorful and fun). Some of the other advice is to cut out sideburns, shave your peach fuzz, darken your eyebrows/use makeup to make you look older and more masc, work out to combat thin arms and “dainty” hands, keep fingernails short, and of course bind and pack properly. There’s a lot of advice about body language and acting masc. And man does it hit as someone a couple years on T that still rarely gets gendered properly even by people who know I’m trans and try their best.

"California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, signed a first-of-its-kind state law Monday aimed at protecting LGBTQ+ students from having their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression revealed by schools without consent.
The SAFETY Act prohibits schools from enforcing policies that forcibly out a student and shields teachers and other school staff from retaliation if they refuse to obey such policies.
The new law makes California the first state to ban outing policies, according to the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus.
Chris Ward, a San Diego Democrat who first introduced the bill in the California Legislature, said in a statement Monday that the SAFETY Act combats a rise in politically motivated attacks on queer and transgender students nationwide.
"While some school districts have adopted policies to forcibly out students, the SAFETY Act ensures that discussions about gender identity remain a private matter within the family,” Ward said. “As a parent, I urge all parents to talk to their children, listen to them, and love them unconditionally for who they are."
The law’s enactment came nearly a year after Tony Thurmond, the state superintendent of public instruction, said he was forcibly removed from a local school board meeting where he was opposing a district's proposed outing policy, which was eventually blocked in court.
“Our teachers can now focus on teaching the critical academic skills that our students need to succeed, not on policing the gender identities of children,” Thurmond said in a statement Monday."

There's something especially biting about people telling transmascs specifically to unpack their misogyny.
After so long of being yelled at or berated by my mother. Looked at with disgust for not shaving my legs and yelled at when I cut my hair, guilt tripped into wearing makeup, and being told any masculine dress was "not socially acceptable." All things that actively hurt gnc women as well as trans people. All things that are misogynistic to imply women have to do.
Every time I try to come out as trans: "I wish you weren't ashamed of your femininity, I'm so heartbroken that you hate women. You're only trying to become a man because you think women are inferior." Following it up with a "why can't you express yourself as you are and just be a gnc woman..." As if she didn't just mock me for those exact traits.
My mother, and by extension TERFs (as my mother is one), constantly imply that the only reason transmasculine people exist is because they are poor little girls who struggle with internalized misogyny. They need to embrace being the gnc women they truly are~ And the gnc women need to fix their internalized misogyny by being more feminine~
So imagine my frustration when the communities I assume to be safe for trans people (both irl and online) hit me with the "transmascs need to unpack their misogyny :/" "a surprising number of transmascs are misogynistic actually :/"
Everyone needs to unpack their misogyny dipshit. The fact that transmascs are singled out specifically leads me to conclude one (or both) of two things:
You have encountered a shitty transmasc person and have taken it upon yourself to decide that the entire transmasc community is like that. I'm not saying misogynistic transmascs don't exist, but if you see someone with a bigoted worldview and go "well this is indicative of the entire community" you are the problem.
You think transmascs are misogynistic for getting gender dysphoria around things that are feminine or conversely, they are misogynistic for getting euphoria around masculinity. This is just straight up punishing trans people for being true to themselves.
Both of these are transphobic arguments and are common TERF tactics to discredit trans people. I do not trust you if you hold the opinion that misogyny is more prevalent in transmasculine spaces than in society at large.
