Let me start this off nicely... Fuck this game. Ok, I got my politeness out of the way so allow me to go in on the game. This game is a fucking asshole alright. It starts off nicely. Cute. Simple stupid basic platforming. Nothing spectacular. It was charming. Not sure, I don't recall exactly when, but maybe early as Chapter 2 is when it shits all on that great first impression. From there it becomes a tedious annoying asshole of a gaming experience. The platforming isn't exactly impossible, but not always exactly clearly obvious of an objective or approach either. A plenty handful of times the camera got me killed, whether I couldn't see enemy or where to make my jump. This game switches to a 2D (2.5D?) view for some places, but they really didn't make best use of their camera that they really should have. One of biggest complaints I saw about this game, was that it simply didn't make the greatest of transition from handheld to console. Many several environments didn't make the transition well & simply feel small, confined & pushing claustrophobic. A few battles with monsters where couple terrible camera & tiny arena to fight surely tested my patience. It got to a point where I simply said FUCK THIS & used my Action Replay for majority of the game, regardless if I was able to get through portions the game without cheating. I just wanted to get it over with & onto something else more enjoyable ASAP. Many several rage-inducing moments were had with this game. I started at this game going blind. About 2/3-3/4 way through I just said fuck it & played ahead of my recording so I'd know what to expect & navigate around better during recording a whole lot more efficiently in a timely manner. It REALLY did not help matters none that my memory card got corrupted 2 hours into the game (I lost several other game saves as well...) While not all was lost & it was early enough in the game to catch up to. This helped matters none & continued to make the game less enjoyable than it already was. Something that developers should not have overlooked was re-balancing several portions & areas of the game when doing this port. It wasn't a bad port, but you can simply do better in transition from small to big screen. This game is for both children & adults alike. Simple enough to pick up, but a challenge even for adults. But I could see a child encountering many of the same issues that I dealt with. This game also made me seriously begin contemplating doing no-commentary walkthroughs from here on out, which I've already been experimenting with. But this game could have possibly been a little more enjoyable if I didn't distract my concentration half the time by talking. Not a bad game, but seriously nothing good. Average at best. It COULD have been better. But it wasn't. This game is a clusterfuck of fuck. I wouldn't go so much out of my way to NOT recommend it, but it is very difficult to recommend. If you do like unnecessarily tedious rage-inducing platforming puzzle type games, you might like this. Maybe. But there are more well-done than this that can be found.
