Bakugo would be the king at making sure you have eaten. I'm taking he makes your favorite meals when he knows you've been having trouble eating, he's constantly checking up on you, etc.

Denki definitely plays dress to impress and would be so fucking terrible at it. He's rage quick after some 8 year Olds win by not even doing the theme. He'll play it with you and every time your outfit comes up he gives it 5 stars.

Tokoyami has a peak taste in music and would love to go to concerts with you. Like he'd be the kind of guy to find some random concert where the tickets and cheap and yall start listening to the bands music on the way to the concert. He just likes the atmosphere I fear

Izuku is super embarrassed about literally every form of pda. So tease him about it pls. Out snd about and you decide to hold his hand? Oh the poor guys is done for. A kiss? That's attempt of murder right there.

Denki is the type of guy to binge watch movies like nobody's business. Definitely will make 'movie dates' where yall just stay up till 3 am watching a 12 epsiode anime that will destroy your soul.

Bakugo will constantly have a be holding your waist or shoulder or hand or literally anything while yall are on a date. You call it being cutly protective. He calls it 'making sure those stupid extras know your mine'

Tokoyami will most definitely get matching jewelry with you. RINGS! This man would wear the fuck out of some rings, I'm talking stacked up and on each finger. He'd get ones to match yours so when you hold hands you can feel the rings on eachothers fingers. It gives him a warm feeling.

Izuku probably keeps a diary or some cute dorky thing like that. The pages are filled with stuff about you and your quirk and just YOU. He'll put notes you've shared over the course of your relationship and stuff like the movie tickets to your first ever date which was to the movies.

Tokoyami most definitely has some of the big and warm and amazing hoodies ever that you constantly steal. He gets cold really easily I think so he'd have a bunch. Most of them end up in your dorm. I imagine yall would like trade them out so then you could have one that smelled like him and he could have one that smelled like you.

Bakugo would feel so nervous and self contious about holding hands because they get sweaty really fast and he thinks it's the worst thing ever. So when you take it so confidently and lovingly in your hand his mind short circuits. He trys pulling away but you keep it in your hand. Some days he wears gloves to mask the sweat but other days he wants to feel your hand skin to skin.

Denki thinks he is extremely ritzy (sorry for the brain rot). He thinks he is a lady's man all day and he'll flirt like crazy with you but if you even so much as compliment him he turns to jelly. He's spewing pick up lone after pick up line then you reciprocate with a flirty remark and he just melts, you'd think he over used his quirk.

Izuku likes when you play with his hair. And in secret he'd also let you style it. His hair is so fluffy you could bury your hands in it forever. He'll lay his head in your lap and just let you go to town. Some days he'll let you put little braid in it or up into pony tails.

Bakugo radiates heat something crazy so cuddles are a must. It'd take a LOT to convince him to let you snuggle up with him on the common room couch but in your or his dorm? He'll eat you be all over him. He won't admit the fuzzy feeling he gets when you cuddle up with him and trace your fingers on the scars on his arms or up and down his abs.

Tokoyami would be so good with words and he wouldn't wouldn't know it. Like you'd ask if he liked your outfit and he'd hit you with straight poetry. Now this doesn't mean he's smooth all the time. The first time yall held hands he almost tweaked out, and the first time he saw you all dressed up for a date he almost fainted. But he has his moments.

Denki has crazy insomnia so he'd stay up late and if you don't stay up late he'd flood your phone with just random stuff he thinks about through out the night. If you also have insomnia he'd either be on face time with you or be with you irl. Yall would go on so many side quests at 3 am.

Izuku is a yapper but also an attentive listener. He'd love to hear you talk about the most boring thing in the world and not even care. He finds everything you talk about so interesting, he'd want you to reciprocate tho so when he yaps you also listen with your full heart.

Someone WEAKER. Someone he can OVERPOWER. Watch as they struggle helplessly in his grip. He wants a GAME. To watch them LOSE. See the realization in their eyes, that they've been outmatched all along. Played. That their stubborn pride means NOTHING before him.

He loves himself. Is OBSESSED with himself. But at the same time? Wants to break that other self down and make him? Helpless, pathetic, and dirty.

THATS the one he wants to slam full force, with super strength, not just down ONTO a flat surface, but THROUGH and right into the ground until it CRATERS. Hold him down by the NECK and choke him slowly as he takes his time. Make him watch as he destroys his precious little suit, his put together appearance, do as he pleases.

See the FURY in his eyes. The hatred. The kindling, obsessive, need for REVENGE.

You have NO idea how many times he's gotten off on that fantasy. Idly kept an eye out for Time and Reality Hopping Quirks. There is, after all, only so much relief quirks and his own touch can provide, in the end. He IS but a man. Even he gets... frustrated.

But? As they say? Every human on earth supposedly has 7 doppelgangers. Especially when you don't FUCKIN DIE. It was bound to happen EVENTUALLY. The right combination of genetics and Quirks. Lightning striking once again.

Perhaps they are distantly related through his mother's unknown family. Perhaps his father's. Impossible to tell. The traits were obviously VERY recessive. But? White hair, familiar eyes. A... "copy" quirk.

The young man is LYING.

Unlike himself, the younger man requires all five fingers touching. A variation of his own. Dressed sharply, he is a vicious lawyer. One with a preference for the poor, discriminated, underclasses. Those with DANGEROUS Quirks. Useful ones.

He greets everyone with a firm, American style, handshake.

AfO is ENTRACED. How many HUNDREDS must he have by now? A net, thrown to collect indiscriminately, until something useful appears? Does he piece them together? The weaker quirks? CAN he? Like AfO? Can only take or can he give as well? But, ah, why SHOULD he?

A little demon prince, pretending to be the benevolent hero. The white knight on shining steed. Here to save the day. How GREATFUL they all are! Afo laughs and laughs. Oh, how it takes him back.

And? They never see him coming. How could they? He is a ghost of a shadow, hidden in the dark. They think they are unique! Their own special brand of predator. Unaware there is something bigger, meaner, hunting THEM.

I imagine AfO has ALOT of fun.

For your MHA Rewrite idea, I gotta ask about 2-A's role. I mean, in canon they were a one-off retcon in an attempt to make Aizawa look better, so would they have any other role in your rewrite? Or would they indeed be expelled n gone to completely solidify Aizawa's expulsion addiction? Cuz if it's the second one, I could imagine at least a few of his past expulsions showing up as members of the MLA.

I honestly don't really have any ideas for the upperclassman. After all, Togata, Hado, and Amajiki would've graduated after the First Year and become full-fledged Pro Heroes. That is another 80 (well, technically we saw ~10 of 2-A and we know the Big Three, so closer to 65-70) characters to add to an already sizeable cast.

It's true that 2-A is a total retcon and they're otherwise not at all a presence in the story, so I could get away with doing nothing with them, especially because despite my issues with Aizawa's teaching style, the narrative isn't trying to make any points about it. Honestly it would be easier in a rewrite to simply remove his expulsion threat altogether and replace it with something less extreme. If I had to keep it, it would explicitly be a course transfer.

My Hero Academia Heroes Rising Deleted Scene (Depressed_Deku.mp4)

My Hero Academia. What can be said about it? It's definitely one of the more polarizing anime out there. On one side, you get people who love it to bits, that are obsessed with it. On the other side? People who despise it. I'm one of the ones who loves My Hero Academia but hates the fandom. I mean seriously, what the fuck is with people shipping the characters, or simping for Bakugo? It makes me so damn angry. Then again just like any fandom, I have to separate the good people from the crazy ones.

I bet you're probably wondering what the context of the title is. Well, as it implies, it's a deleted scene of My Hero Academia. Now, when you look on YouTube, most if not all MHA deleted scenes are fake but… Apparently this one is real.

The date was April 4, 2024 AKA the last year Biden was in office. That's all I'm gonna say regarding politics throughout the entirety of this tale. Anyway, it was my birthday and my buddy Tony got me a My Hero Academia DVD as a birthday present. Of course, I thanked Tony and later that day, watched the DVD.

Now, this is where things get strange. On the back of the box, it said “Includes 4 deleted scenes” in bold text. I knew that most copies didn't have deleted scenes, and I speculated if Tony gave me a bootleg.

Regardless, I decided to watch the DVD on my computer, putting it into the disk tray. So far, everything seemed normal, from the anti piracy message to the DVD menu. But, then I got curious about the deleted scenes.

As I watched them, most of them were pretty normal. I assumed they were deleted for time reasons. But… this one scene in particular, “Deku Is Depressed”, took me off guard. Granted there were scenes of Izuku being sad, angry, or scared, but this? It was new. It was probably the darkest thing I've seen, even if it was in storyboard style.

When I selected the scene, it starts with Deku sleeping, rather unrest filled. It's safe to assume he was having a nightmare. Well that's what I assumed anyway… and I was right. Said nightmare took place on Nabu Island where the villains would attack in the final film, but it looked wrong… It looked desolate, devoid of any life, the corpses of Deku's peers all over the ground, including but not limited to; Uraraka, Bakugo, Kirishima, Aoyama, Mineta, Denki, Mina, and Tsu.

This was very shocking. I would've expected this in Deadman Wonderland or Death Note, but My Hero Academia?

Then as Deku walks the island… Something strange happens. The first corpse to move is Shoto, then the others follow, reaching out and trying to grab Deku while laughing in reverse. What's worse is that the corpses had torn up faces, like their eyes were torn out and their mouths were cut into toothless tongueless smiles.

“Wh-WHAT THE HELL?! GET AWAY FROM ME, DON'T TOUCH ME!!!!” Izuku would yell, trying to get away from the apparitions of his friends and peers. As he's trying to get away from the visions of the living corpses, text appears saying things like “WHY DID YOU LEAVE US TO DIE?!” “THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!” and “WE HATE YOU!!!”

Deku's eyes filled with tears, and honestly? I wanted to cry along with him. But I just couldn't, because I was too shocked. I saw Izuku running in a white void for some time before he was teleported to his home. Izuku's house was a shell of itself, wrecked and destroyed.

But in the middle of the rubble sat the skeletal corpse of Izuku's mother. Izuku looked at the corpse with a shocked expression, and yelled “MOM!!!!” My heart sank seeing this.

Then, Shigaraki appeared in the dream. He smirked and taunted Deku, saying the following. “Isn't it cute? You claim to be a hero in training, but you can't save everyone you love. You really are that pathetic, aren't you? Do you ever wonder why All Might gave you a quirk even though you don't deserve one?”

“YOU SHUT UP!!!” Izuku screamed in anger, attempting to punch Shigaraki, but Shigi disappeared, as Izuku stumbled into a black void… And in it he sees… A version of himself, with no outline or face except for two hollow black holes for eyes. Izuku looked scared but then the other Deku spoke, “Is this really what I am? Just trash for UA to use? Trash for All Might to use?!”

It was stunning for Izuku to think that about his idol All Might, even if it's a duplicate in a dream. He always looked up to All Might like a father but… Not this. He continued. Melancholic music played as he kept monologuing. “A pathetic tool to fight UA’s battles?! A-A-” He stops for a minute, voice breaking. “What am I even doing with my life?! A WASTE OF A HERO THAT ALWAYS BREAKS HIS OWN BONES WITH HIS QUIRK?! SOMEONE WHO'S ALWAYS AN ANNOYANCE TO HIS FRIEND SINCE FOUR YEARS OLD?!” This made me hurt hearing this. “WHY AM I LIKE THIS?! WHY AM I SO WEAK?! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE STRONG, IZUKU! BUT YOU'RE NOT!!!”

Izuku bent down onto his knees, and hugged himself, tears flowing freely… “I'm not… I'm not strong. I'm weak and scared! I'm not a hero, I'm a… Weakling… A nobody… A-A-” Izuku can't speak anymore, falling onto his side, sobbing loudly.

A little while later, the audio from the scene where Bakugo tells Deku to jump off the roof of the middle school played on a loop, repeating over and over… He found himself on the roof of the middle school, looking down at the asphalt below, and before anyone could do anything… He jumped.

Falling and falling through the air, until he hit the ground below. Then, Izuku woke up with a gasp, before breathing heavily. After blinking twice, he took his knees to his chest and… Cried again, arms wrapped around his legs. The scene ended there as it faded to black.

This was just confusing overall. I never thought I'd see a scene where Deku was straight up depressed other than the scene where he lifted his burnt binder out of the fountain. Sad, angry, scared, yes, but never all at once! It got me thinking… Was Deku originally supposed to be going through depression in this? Was he supposed to have suicidal thoughts?

I'd contact Tony about it, but I don't know if he'll believe me. And I can't post it out of fear of being hit with a cease and desist.

So my only question is… What do I sit there and do?

flattered to be villain expert anon. i just want to finish up that the anon is objectively wrong (and i'm sorry but i learned so much about writing dissecting ygo when you go beyond oh silly cards games because there is so much talent and craft there, they don't actually pull in hack writers, they good writers in and then tie their hands) zexal is not the worst it just has a bad reputation. vrains is objectively the worst, do you know how bad a ygo spinoff cashcow has to be to be cancelled a third of the way into its run and get ygo pulled off air for 2 years? all the seasons have pros and cons and honestly solid writing in various areas that sync really well with some of the stuff that aftg really sucks at discussing (go sit and the corner and think about what you've done aftg fandom when ygo fandom is more mature and better at nuance than you):

DM: mostly filler and iffy animations but amazing once it gets to egypt several hundred episodes in (aka the bit the mangaka was actually invested in)

GX: fun school romp, fascinating descent into madness for the mc, rushed ending because the mc's voice actor wasn't booked properly so had to rush the important scenes and cut everything else.

5Ds: the older edgier darker atmosphere that doesn't stick the landing, wanted to be about cults and inequality (if you want cults 5Ds arcadia is great, they actually attempt to sympathetically tackle what it's like to leave a cult when you were their poster child) and does a really good job in the first half (also just everything about the dark signers is peak ygo fanservice), before the director got sick of the board forcing product placement over story and changing things last second so he couldn't even adjust properly so left to do symphogear (a show mostly unknown over in english fandoms but is one of the most anime anime ever and regularly goes toe to toe with giants like HQ, AOT, YoI and MHA for ratings), and also the tokyo subway cult attack happened and one of the voice actresses was in said cult, so a quick rewrite was done that made no sense.

Zexal: is the best villain writing in the series, pick a villain type it's got it and it's written it pretty damn well, has the best rating for any spinoff in japan and the only one of the first run of spinoffs not to have controversy, making it more cohesive as a whole, but it has a brighter style to hide the darker themes, and a younger protagonist, used as a jumping on point for new younger fans and even fans suggest skipping to episode 12/13 to avoid the worst of that and get into the plot when the real villains start appearing.

Arc-V: (pronounced 5, which sucks because Zexal spent its entire run telling us V= vee) the 5Ds director returns, then has the same issue of the board interfering just as a new season of symphogear is confirmed so leaves half way again, and once again you can tell (ygo fandom loves to blame director ono for shit he wasn't even there for), but if you want a decently good story about forcing yourself to bury your emotions and just be happy, the horrors of war and the realities of making children save the world, it's a pretty good one until about episode 80, honestly does a great job of tackling child soldiers and their cult mindset and what happens when that is challenged and the various reactions from rejection all the way up to well i've done too much shit to change paths now to the ygo equivalent of suicide.

Vrains: so much potential absolutely wasted, a really good attempt to tackle childhood trauma and abuse and ptsd and the need for revenge on your abusers and how far it can take you but plagued by behind the scenes drama that left the show itself a mess that got cancelled only a third of the way in.

all to say ygo gets written off as a dumb show about a dumb card game but its got some real writing talent hidden in there the same way aftg has if you're willing to pay attention and have some media literacy. and i am sorry for forcing my ygo has good writing once you get through the bullshit opinions on you

Cloud’s Top 5 MHA Vigilantes Chapters

In order to commemorate the ending of Vigilantes tomorrow I have come up with a list of my top 5 favorite chapters! I found it really hard to narrow it down to my favorite individual chapters because when I think of Vig, I think of the overall story and the arcs rather than the chapters by themselves. Nonetheless, I have attempted to compile my favorites here! Spoilers also!!!!

5. Chapter 1 - “I’m here.”

Yep! Had to put the very first chapter on this list for two main reasons. The first is because it works very well as an introduction to the Vigilantes series. It quickly explains the premise of our story and introduces us to our main characters, while also showing how it differs from mainline MHA by diving straight into the darker themes.

The second reason is because this first chapter IS the whole of the vigilantes series because of how everything ties back to it. The line of “Well, All Might ain’t coming, but l’m here!” is the central theme of Vigilantes. “We can’t expect anyone to come to save us, so we’ll be here to do what we can.” is exemplified by the recurring use of “I’m here!”. So, when our characters say it, it always ties us back to this first chapter and usage. Then there’s other stuff like Koichi remarking on the qualities of what makes a good hero, all of which are boxes he himself has checked off by the end of the series, and the fact that Koichi’s first words to Pop are “Hey it’s the cops!”

True romance right there.

4. Chapters 106/107 - “Tag” & “The Days to Come”

But Cloud! I thought this was just supposed to be your top 5, You can’t group two chapters together!

Shhhh It’s my list I get to make the rules

The reason I have both of these chapters ranked together at number 4 is simply because they contain my two favorite panels of the entire series. The first is from chapter 106 and is the my favorite example of Koichi and 6’s pure SPEED. They are so fast you can’t even SEE THEM, only the path they traced as 6 tries to hit Koichi with one of his explosions. The second is from chapter 107 and is part of AFO’clock’s warning to 6 about how if this keeps up Koichi will grow to overcome him. Which is paid off in the later chapters when Koichi goes on the offensive and develops Knuckle-style. Just the imagery here of Koichi towering over him and 6’s face are my favorite parts about this one. All the praise to Betten for these chapters.

3. Chapter 64 - “Shouta”

Everybody knows that this chapter is utterly soul-crushing, so I don’t need to say that, but this chapter is the reason I read all of Vigilantes in the first place.

Furuhashi has the audacity to give us hope, to make us believe that Aizawa won and that Shirakumo is going to be okay, only to RIP IT AWAY in the most painful way possible. Its that kind of storytelling that drew me in and and kept me invested in Vigilantes. That AUDACITY to do whatever they wanted with the plot is what sets vigilantes apart for me.

This chapter also sets up the idea for later chapters that you can hallucinate your loved ones giving you encouragement if you are a) fighting for your life and b) they are on the brink of death themselves.

This is only one example of Furuhashi being a master of set-up and pay-off.

2. Chapter 116 - “In Darkness”

Okay now we’re just getting to the ones that make me cry. In 116 Koichi is on his last legs, he thinks he’s literally dying the whole time and it’s just a chapter of dialogue between him and Knuckleduster. The only real function of this chapter is to serve as a rallying cry for Koichi to get back into the fight, but the way it’s done is so understated and gentle.

Essentially this whole chapter is Knuckle telling Koichi “you don’t need me anymore, you can do this on your own” which is IMMENSELY PAINFUL for two reasons. One, while Koichi is on his last breath Knuckleduster is also dying at the same time, so we can see this as the their “spirts” reaching out to each other one last time before one of them dies. Or if you don’t believe that Knuckle is actually talking to him, it’s Koichi just imagining the image of his master and telling himself the things that he already knows. And when he stands up at the end of the chapter, fully focused with his knuckles glowing with energy? Chills, every time.

1. Chapter 75 - “Letter”

This is the one that can get me to cry literally every time I read it.

This, like chapter 116 is just Knuckleduster talking to Koichi, but this is his confession to Koichi. He starts off the letter by apologizing to him and then moves on to explain what he thinks a true hero is, only for him to say that Koichi has been his hero the whole time.

The notion that Koichi, this nobody, this guy on the street, with a funny quirk, and a penchant for being absent-minded, has always been a true hero is awesome. He showed what a true hero was to a Pro Hero, someone who had been doing “hero work” for years, but when Koichi hands Knuckleduster a tissue for his bloody nose all the pomp and circumstance that makes a hero in this world falls away.

It doesn’t matter about his quirk. It’s doesn’t matter that he’s tried and failed at being the hero before. It just matters that Koichi has the iron will to make the impossible, possible, and that when there’s someone out there, waiting to be saved, there isn’t even a decision to be made.

More than anything else, Koichi wanted to help people, and did whatever that entailed. That’s what makes him a true hero.

—  Hikari is blessed with the best uncles and aunts she could ever ask for!!

—  Both Bakusquad and Dekusquad take turns in helping you and Katsuki get your well deserved rest and relaxation at least once a month ever since Hikari turned 6 as... she became quite the feisty girl. Too feisty to handle actually.

—  She was energetic and playful 24/7. And so, it was hard to keep up with her energy most of the time.

—  She still remained kind and obedient yet she was also an absolute bundle of joy who would just run around the house, play with her toys, and go on roleplaying adventures with you and Katsuki. She had absolutely no idea how much she would tire you and Katsuki, however, and sometimes she would go on for hours and hours just running around the house and interacting with everything she sees.

—  She had an inquisitive mind, and although you always encourage her to be smart and be intrigued with everything, she tends to question almost everything she lays her eyes on and you end up having to come up with a witty and a very childlike answer for her to understand.

—  A good example of this is when she asked you ever so innocently about where babies come from and your husband was ABOUT TO TAKE HER QUESTION LITERALLY and give her the science talk about sexual reproduction. When the two of you agreed to only give her that talk when she turns 8 as she might not even entirely understand it in the first place.

—  “Mommy, Daddy, where do babies come from?”

—  “I guess it’s time for the talk.” Bakugo shrugs, remarking sternly. He takes his daughter’s little hand in his and bringing her to the living room. “You see, Hikari, babies come from the wo-”

—  “Storks!” You cut Bakugo off before he could say another word, nudging him on the elbow. “Hikari-chan, the babies are brought down to this world by the white and strong birds in the sky!” You whisper the last bits of information to her ear. “The storks told me that once you get older, they’ll tell you the secret of where they actually pick up the babies.”

—  “Really!?” She says in disbelief, her eyes gleaming in excitement. “YAY! YAY! YAY! I can’t wait!” She goes back to running around the house looking for even more things to ask about and you breathe a sigh of relief as soon as she leaves.

—  Although it was nice that you are able to bond as a family, it does get pretty tiring sometimes. Of course your weariness is worth the risk if it’s just to see Hikari smile.

— Especially since you and Bakugo were both pro-heroes (although you mostly do stand by pro hero work meaning you work from home almost all the time.) You found it much more enriching if both you and bakugo are guiding her and working together to create a loving and supportive family for Hikari.

— Both of your respective friend groups, whomst you remained close to ever since high school, noticed how the both of you looked tremendously exhausted and looked like you were in dire need to have 9 cups of coffee every time you would meet up with each other in between your pro hero duties.

—  And so both squads came into an agreement, that they would help the two of you out by giving you a 48 hour day off every month to do whatever the heck married couples do as they would babysit Hikari and have fun.

—  This was also a great way to get closer with their niece even if they dote on her so much already.  As you and Bakugo are the first persons in your friend groups who got married and have a child together.

—  This month, the Bakusquad is in charge of taking care of Hikari and just from the fact that Kirishima, Kaminari, Mina and Sero are going to babysit your daughter alone, you know it’s going to be chaotic.

—  Things didn’t go swimmingly last time (literally), as only Kirisihima and Kaminari were the only ones available the last time they came to babysit. They took Hikari to a community pool, and she came back with a missing tooth and some scratches on her legs from playing too much. Katsuki was NOT pleased and you had to restrain your husband from trying to obliterate his best friends even if Hikari had little to no injuries and it was normal for kids her age to have these things happens to them at least once in their childhood.

—  With your assurance and the look that was on Hikari’s face and how she would not shut up about how she loved spending time with Uncle Eijiro and Uncle Denki, Katsuki eventually let it slide and just gave his friends the usual “Katsuki Bakugo treatment” where he acts cold and angry at them, paired with his easily irritated and idgaf attitude.

—  This month however, was going to be different because Mina and Sero are finally joining along and making sure that Hikari has the best weekend since they weren’t able to babysit last time.

—  Hikari loved her Aunt Mina because she would braid her hair and style her with different cute outfits that only Mina, with her love for fashion and all things girly and pink could attempt to do and end up doing perfectly. She also taught Hikari all the dances to disney songs and nursery rhymes she knows how to do so far. Hikari affectionately refers to her Aunt Pinkie whenever Mina isn’t around.

—  Kirishima, who was the most frequent to visit the 3 of you, out of all of the Bakusquad, considers Hikari as his new #1 best friend. Dethroning and kicking her very own father from that spot. Hikari is a much more gentle and sweet version of her explosive father, and so Eijiro is able to interact and play with Hikari because he already knows Bakugo and his mannerisms very well. Hikari calls him Uncle Sharkie and she always asks her dad about how he and Kirishima became such good friends. To which Katsuki would reply with, “It’s a long story princess.”

—  Kaminari was the fun uncle. He always gave off those vibes ever since high school anyway. Giving Hikari candy behind Katsuki’s back (although you made sure Kaminari didn’t give her any that were tooth rotting sweet ones) Buying her ice cream whenever he came to drop by, and bringing her to the nearby playground amongst many other things. He spoils her a lot (in a good way) and Hikari calls her the fun “sparkie” uncle.

— Then, there was Sero. He retained his love for Spiderman since he was a kid, and he was able to pass that on to Hikari. His way of playing with her was cute since Sero is super tall, he would let Hikari ride on his shoulders, trying to imitate airplane noises as they would “fly” around the house. He gifted Hikari some child-friendly comic books for you and Katsuki to read to her before. bed. Although she never fails to say that the best heroes are her mommy and daddy. She calls Sero her Uncle Spidey.

“AUNT MINA! UNCLE EIJIRO! UNCLE DENKI! UNCLE SEROOO!” Hikari rushes to the door as soon as she hears the doorbell ring, she jumps into Eijiro’s arms and the red-haired pro hero twirls her around. The rest of the Bakusquad forms a circle around her, and can’t help but look at her adoringly.

“How’s my little ball of sunshine!?” Mina squeezes Hikari’s cheekies, earning giggles from the little girl. “I’m fine Aunt Mina! I mished chu!” She begins to talk in a cute accent as she just can’t contain her excitement.

“Hikari-chan! Do you still remember our little handshake?” Sero kneels down to the little girl’s height, offering her his hand. The little girl nods, shakes it and their thumbs twiddle together, as if they were thumb wrestling. They do a few more quirky hand shakes and then end it with a bang by saying “BOOM!” Sparks suddenly fly out from Hikari’s hands, her aunt and uncles coo since noticing how much her quirk has developed ever since they started babysitting.

“Okay you two!” Mina turns to you and Katsuki, as she had noticed you had some distinct luggage packed for a quick hot spring getaway, she practically pushes the two of you out of the door when Katsuki stops in his tracks, turning to his friends.

He glares at them and points his fingers to his eyes in a “I’m watching you” type of gesture. “Not one single scratch on her or all of you are dead to me.”

Kaminari laughs, patting his friend on the back, “We gotchu buddy. Your little ball of sunshine is safe in our hands. She’ll have the best time with us!”

Hikari quickly runs to you and Katsuki, giving you both a tight hug. “We love you Hikari. We’ll just be gone for two days oki? Your uncles and your aunt here will keep you safe this weekend alright? We love you!” You peck her lightly on the cheek, a pout forming on your daughter’s face.

“I’ll miss you Mommy. Daddy.” She doesn’t let go, hugging the two of you even tighter. “I loaf you! See you soon!”

“Be a good girl okay Hikari?” Katsuki kneels down to meet his daughter’s eyes, orbs that were as passionate as his, planting a kiss on her forehead. “We’ll miss you kiddo.”

You could hear Kaminari and Sero silently snicker in the background since they still can’t wrap their head around the fact that their friend could become so soft when in front of his child as opposed to his usual rough demeanor he shows to everyone else.

Katsuki wraps his arm around your waist, holding you tightly, with you dragging along the luggage that the two of you were going to bring on this trip. You bid your final goodbyes with ease and relief, knowing that your daughter will be in “safe hands” the entire weekend.

“We’re going to have so much fun!” Mina squeezes Hikari and the rest of the  Bakusquad into a hug. “What do you want to do first Hikari-chan?”

“Oh! Um! I don’t know if I should ask this b-but..” The blonde little girl hides her hands in her pockets, her feet tapping the floor. “I actually want to know how Mommy and Daddy met! Not the marry or the lovey thing! Just how they met and fell in love!”

“Hikari-chan!! You’re so cuteeeeeeee!” Kaminari begins to weep crocodile tears, pulling Hikari into another hug. “If that’s what you want to do for today, then we’ll gladly tell the story of how your mom and dad met!”

The Bakusquad formed and sat in a circle on the floor. Hikari was sitting on Mina’s lap as the latter braided her hair into what was called a Fishtail braid. Kirishima, with the help of Sato, baked some chocolate chip cookies a few days ago for all of them to snack on while they babysit Hikari.

Sero clears his voice and begins the story. “Your mom and your dad met each other in High School. Along with all of us and your Uncle Izuku, Uncle Tenya, Uncle Shoto, Aunt Ochaco, Aunt Tsuyu-” He continues to recall the names of all the other people Hikari know and love. “They were total opposites actually.”

“O-opposithes?” Hikari tilts her head, a puzzled look on her face as she tries to process what her Uncle Sero had just said. “D-does that mean that Daddy didn’t like Mommy?”

“It’s not like that Hikari-chan. Don’t worry.” Kirishima saves Sero from making the little girl misinterpret what he had just said, nudging his raven-haired friend in the arm. “It’s just that your dad was hot-headed and angry all the time, but he fell in love with your mom because she was sweet, patient and understanding!” Kirishima reiterates, a soft look on his face, looking back on the sweet sentimental memories of high school. “They were perfect for each other!”

“Oh! So daddy was angy all the time? Since mommy is really nice she told Daddy to be nice and they fell in love!?”

Mina giggles, continuing to style Hikari’s hair. “Yes Hikari-chan. That’s exactly what happened! You’re so good!”

“I am!?” Yay!” She claps her hands together, a wide smile present on her face, she was becoming more and more intrigued. “Tell me more please!”

“Well...” Kaminari continued where Kirishima had left off, “Your mom and dad got closer because they got teamed up to fight our pro hero teacher for our exam! They fought and they had a hard time talking to each other but they passed the exam in the end! It was hard at first. Your dad kept on telling us that he didn’t like your mom in a lovey way but we kept on pushing him until he accidentally said that he liked her! Your mommy heard what he said and then she told him that she liked him too!”

“F-fight? I thought Daddy only fights bad guys...” Her voice begins to crack as if she was about to cry. The Bakusquad were about to speak up and explain but failed to because as soon as Mina was done braiding her hair, Hikari immediately stands up and bows politely to the four adults. “I’m going to play with Mr. Rilakkuma for a while. See you later!” She grabs a cookie from the plate and rushes into her room, locking the door behind her.

“See you later Hikari-chan!” Kaminari waves cluelessly, not realizing what he had just said that prompted Hikari to leave the room in the first place. Mina stands up on her knees, shooting him a glare and flicking his forehead, “Did you not realize what you just did!?”

“Ahh what did I do!?” He rubs the spot on his forehead that Mina had just hit, and looks at his two other friends for a clue as to why they were ganging up with him.

“I guess Chargedolt will always be Chargedolt.” Sero shrugs, shaking his head in disappointment.. “Hikari misinterpreted what you said. She thinks that Bakubro used to fight (Y/N) like she’s a villain or something back when we were in High School.”

“WAIT! OBJECTION! SHE MISINTERPRETED YOUR STORY FIRST-”

“Guys. Guys. There’s nothing we can do about it. Both of you slipped, so let’s give Hikari-chan some space first then talk to her later.” Kirishima cuts Kaminari off before he and Sero would start an argument,  which would prompt Hikari to further think more negative thoughts.

“(Y/N) said that Hikari-chan’s been liking Tonkotsu Ramen recently, so I think it’s best if all of us help out in cooking her favorite comfort food to cheer her up.” Mina sighs deeply, crossing her arms. She heads straight to the kitchen without uttering another word, the three other guys follow suit.

After several hours, it was finally night time and time for dinner! At the orders of Mina, Sero and Kaminari came to pick up Hikari from her room.

Sero knocked softly. “Hikari-chan? It’s time for dinner!”

“We cooked your favoriteee Tonkatsu Ramen!” Kaminari added in a playful voice.

No reply.

“Hikari-chan?” Sero knocks again, a bit louder this time. He then turns to Denki and whispers, “Maybe she’s asleep?”

Before the two men were to retreat and go back to the living room, the door to the little girl’s room was unlocked with a long click, as if there was hesitance..

Denki quickly turns the knob to be surprised at the sight of Hikari... packing her clothes into a cute backpack?

“Hikari-chan! W-what are you doing?” Kaminari runs to her, trying to stop her from folding her clothes.

“I’m going to go see Mommy and Daddy! I’ll go take a bus and find them!” She wipes the tears streaking down her cheeks, sniffing her nose while attempting to stuff her teddy bear inside her backpack. “Daddy took Mommy so that they’re going to fight aren’t they!? I don’t want that!”

“No no no no no Hikari. It’s not like that!” Kaminari wipes the little girl’s tears with a handkerchief, he gestures Sero to call Kirishima and Mina whilst he tries to comfort the girl. “Your dad took your mom out because today is their lovey anniversary! It wasn’t because they were going to fight!”

“Ah! Owkay!” Hikari suddenly raises her head, taking the handkerchief from Denki and wiping her tears.  “Can I visit Daddy and Mommy then!?”

“O-oh well...”

“Of course we can go Hikari-chan!” Kirishima barges in, Sero and Mina close behind him. “Let’s surprise them!”

“Yay! Surprising them! I love surprises!” The little girl jumps up and down in her place. “What time do we go!? What time do we goooo!?”

“After dinner you little cutie.” Mina smiles at the younger Bakugo’s sudden shift in mood. “We cooked your favorite Tonkotsu Ramen!”

“AH! TONKOTSU RAMEN TONKOTSU RAMEN!” Hikari wiggles her arms, slightly pushing the adults out of the way and runs out of her room, Sero catches up to her, only to find her sitting properly on the dining table. “I’m ready to eat now! Just waiting for all of you!” She shouts from outside.

“She’s absolutely fricking adorable.” Kaminari remarks. “But Kiri.. are you serious? We’re actually going all the way to a prefecture and bring her to her parents? Isn’t our job supposed to be keeping her here while they rest and relax in the onsen?”

“W-well... It’s not like we can do anything about it right?” Eijiro shrugs off Denki’s concern, holding on to a stress ball that Hikari had in her room. “She’ll be moping around and going back to overthinking about what her parents are doing right now. We’ll take her there and besides, once we do get there, (Y/N) and Bakugo already had a day’s worth of rest. And I think it’s time for us to take Hikari on a road trip and have fun with her!”

“Uncle Eijiro.. Aunt Mina... Uncle Denki... what’s taking you so long?” Hikari yawns and rubs her eyes, still holding on to her chopsticks. “The ramen is going to get cold...”

“Oh no! It is!?” Mina reacts quickly, taking Hikari’s hand and leading her to the table. “Let’s get there before Elsa makes it even colder!”

“NOOOOOO!! Elsa’s going to do that!? Whyyyyyy!?”

“Let’s just hope that this isn’t a repeat of what happened when we took her to the community pool.” Kaminari shakes his head, recalling the past event. “Bakugo almost killed us if it weren’t for (Y/N).”

“I don’t think it will. Besides, Sero and Mina will be with us, so the more the merrier!”

Oh and the merrier it was.

“HAKUNA MATATA! WHAT A WONDERFUL PHRASE!” Bakusquad along with Hikari, sing in unison. Bopping along to the iconic song from Lion King.

“IT MEANS NO WORRIES! FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAYS!” Hikari belts out, the others clapping along to her singing, doing their best to hype her up

Kirishima was singing Timone’s lines, Kaminari was singing Pumba’s, Sero and Mina were the background vocals and and Hikari was singing Simba’s lines.

It was 6 am in the morning and they were finally on the road and on the way to a Hot Springs Resort in Chiba Prefecture, where you and Bakugo were staying in for the weekend.

Kirishima was driving the SUV that he immediately bought when he got his first Pro Hero paycheck, Denki was riding shotgun, and Hikari was seated at the middle squeezed in by both Mina and Sero.

Disney Songs were set to be played for the entire morning to tire out Hikari and so that she can sleep peacefully and rid Bakusquad of the slight annoyance they will receive when she asks “Are we there yet?” every 2 minutes.

Denki had unfortunately messed up the spotify playlist that Jiro had given him, and the piano opening of A Thousand Miles begins to play.

“OMG IT’S OUR SQUAD SONG!” Mina’s eyes lit up as soon as the well-known piano keys blared out from the speakers. “MAKING MY WAY DOWNTOWN, WALKING FAST, FACES PASS AND I’M HOMEBOUND!”

The iconic part before the chorus begins to play and the boys sing along, “AND I NEED YOU! AND I MISS YOUUU!” They shake their shoulders to the beat, and Hikari giggles along.

“CAUSE YOU KNOW I’D WALK A THOUSAND MILES IF I CAN JUST SEE YOU TONIGHTTTTT.” Bakusquad sings dramatically in unison, raising their hands up high and just vibing to the beat.

“Hikari-chan! You should totally hear your dad sing this! He loves this song!” Mina turns to the little girl who continued to laugh at how chaotic her aunt and uncles were being. “Really!? I want to learn it then so that Mommy and Daddy would know that I can be a singer too!”

The song ends and yet everyone else was still vibing. After the current song, the hype and the energy has died down and Hikari is fast asleep on Mina’s lap and her feet were lying on a pillow that was placed on Sero’s lap.

“She really is a spitting image of both (Y/N) and Bakugo. They’re really great parents.” said Sero, who wanted to break the silence and keep the atmosphere lively.

“My mind is still shook over the fact that Bakubro would turn so soft every time he’s in the same room as his daughter. It’s a complete 180 on his personality, and I really wanna tease him about it when we finally get the chance.” Kaminari interjects. “Do you think Bakugo would get mad when we arrive there?”

“Trust me on this guys.” Kirishima says casually, stepping on the gas pedal, as they go up the highway. “Bakugo won’t. In fact, I think both he and (Y/N) would be delighted to see their daughter travel for 180 miles just because of a misunderstanding.”

“Suki-kun... do you think I should call up Mina to ask how Hikari’s doing?” You reach for your phone on the bedside table. “It’s 6 AM maybe Hikari forgot to drink her gummmy vitamins-”

“She’s going to be fine.” Katsuki murmurs in his bedhead voice, turning to your side of the bed to spoon you and nestle his head on your neck. “I trust Kirishima and the others.”

“This is surprising. You’re very casual about this now. What happened to your skepticism? Weren’t you too worried about how they were going to babysit Hikari after the pool incident?”

“To hell with that. If Hikari loves them, and they love her back just as much, might as well just roll with it. They’re my friends anyway and it’s better than Ilda scolding her for eating 4 M&Ms at 9 in the evening.”

You chuckle, holding his hands that were wrapped around your waist. “That’s harsh but you got a point. Although Hikari loves my friends and yours equally, they do think of Hikari as a little Bakugo so, they’re able to connect with her more.”

“What time do the private mixed gender hot springs open up again?” He grumbles suggestively and you giggle. “They open at 9 am. Should I reserve that time slot?”

“You should.” He growls but before you could even reply, he falls back to sleep.

“WE’RE HERE!” Kirishima announces, waking Kaminari, Mina and Sero up from their sleep.

“W-what if this isn’t the right onsen?” Denki yawns, looking around to take in the view.

“I asked (Y/N) last night where they were staying. This is the place! She even gave me their room number for some reason.” Mina stretches her arms then pats Hikari on the forehead lightly. “Hikari we’re here...”

The little girl slowly opens her eyes, sitting up, then looks out the window.

“HOT SPRINGS! ONSEN!” She hastily tidies up her backpack and gets down the car as soon as Sero opens the door.

“Hikari-chan! Wait for us first!” Sero runs after her, making sure she doesn’t get too far.

“It’s 9 AM... I wonder if those two lovebirds are awake already.” Kaminari looks at the watch on his wrist, as he brings down their stuff from the trunk of the car.

“I looked this place up last night. It’s a family friendly hot springs resort, but it’s famed for it’s private mixed gender onsen. I wonder why though...” Mina mused, helping Denki out with bringing their stuff down.

Kirishima gets out of the car and bobs his head up as soon as he heard what Mina had said. He looks at Kaminari trying to tell him something through his stare. The mustard-haired man’s eyes widened when he realized why Kirishima was looking at him, then he turns to Mina who finally realizes what the mixed gender onsen meant.

“Oh.”

They enter the beautiful and lush resort, spotting Sero and Hikari who were sitting near the reception area, waiting for their reservation and for the rooms to be confirmed.

“Can’t believe we had to pay double the price for a standard room.” Kaminari pouts, whispering to Kirishima as the red-haired man hands him over the credit cards of each of his friends and then he hands it over to the concierge. He notices how excited Hikari looked and couldn’t help but smile.

As soon as the reservation was confirmed, Bakusquad and Hikari were able to check in immediately. Mina takes Hikari to her room while the three other boys were sharing their room with each other.

“Hikari before you can surprise your parents, you have to wear this Yukata first okay?” Mina helps fasten the bath robe on Hikari, but the little girl can’t help but be energetic and start dancing in her place. “Have you memorized the A Thousand Miles chorus already to sing to your mommy and daddy?”

“I have!”

Mina takes Hikari outside, the other boys were already out too and were wearing their bath robes.

“I saw (Y/N) enter this onsen. Maybe that’s where she and Bakugo are in? Should we take Hikari there?” Kaminari asks his three other friends, sipping on a fruit-flavored ramune, and handing one to Hikari.

“Yes please! I want to see Mommy and Daddy as soon as possible and then surprise them!” She sips on her ramune, looking at her aunt and uncles pleadingly, begging them to bring her there.

“I could have sworn I heard Kaminari-kun’s voice outside.” You tell Katsuki, closing the screen door to the open air bath. You were holding a plate full of sliced Watermelon. Your robe was still on and you wanted to eat something first before getting in.

“Oh really?” You raise your eyebrow, and lick your lips. “Could you get used to-”

You jolt up at the sweet and all too familiar voice that was echoing from the outside. Before you could even react properly, someone knocks on the door to reveal...

She jumps to you and pulls you into a tight hug. “I missed you so much! I thought you and Daddy were fighting that’s why you left!”

“Fighting!?” You look back and forth to Bakusquad then to your daughter. “Of course not! Why would we-”

“Uncle Sewo and Uncle Denki told me that you guys would always fight when you were in school! That’s why I thought that-”

“They did... what?” Bakugo’s tone becomes slightly irritated at the mention of Kaminari and Hanta’s name. The Bakusquad were about to face death and the consequences until...

“Oh! But! They also taught me a song today! It’s called A Thousand Miles! They said it was Daddy’s favorite!” She then turns to her father with such admiration in her eyes as she begins to sing the chorus. “Cause you know I’d walk a thousand miles just to see youuu~”

“Nice one sunshine. Did you learn that for me?” He gestures Hikari to approach him, ruffling her hair as she kneels down to peck him on the cheek. “I did!”

“It’s your favorite song! So, I also traveled a thousand miles to see you and Mommy!”

“Not necessarily a thousand miles, dear. But you’re close enough! You still traveled to see us! Yay!” You clap at the genius remark your daughter had made. You turn to the Bakusquad, nodding your head at them and smile. “Thank you for taking care of Hikari and bringing her here just because she wanted to. We’ll see you later at lunch?”

“Of course! Of course!” Mina waves goodbye, a tired but loving smile formed on her face. “We had a fun time with Hikari and we just couldn’t help but bring her here. But, you have Kiri to thank for all of this though!”

“No, I shouldn’t get all of the credit. This is a Bakusquad group effort, if Kaminari and Sero didn’t slip and if Hikari didn’t misunderstand their words, then we wouldn’t be here in the first place.” Kirishima cuts Mina off in a respectful way. He claps his hands together and pulls your other friends out of the room. “See ya guys later!”

“Thanks guys.” Bakugo nods generously to his friends. It was something he didn’t always do, but when he does, well, it’s worth seeing.

“Bye Uncle Sharkie, Aunt Pinkie, Uncle Sparkie and Uncle Spidey!” Hikari waves goodbye jovially, not realizing that she just called them the affectionate nicknames that she’s too embarrassed to say in front of them.

The four laugh at the little girl’s slip-up and they leave the hot springs in good spirits.

After that wonderful weekend, you explained to Hikari about why you’re taking a rest every month in the first place. She didn’t quite get the concept at first but after a little bit more of explaining, she came up with the idea that the two of you get four rest days in a month. One weekend just for you and Katsuki then the other weekend is for the three of you and if any of the Bakusquad or Dekusquad would want to come along.

It was the perfect agreement and if Hikari was going to grow up in an environment where she had the best aunts and uncles in the universe, then she’s going to grow up to be a great kid. Just like the adults in her life once were.

↠he’s super laid back and chill, pretty childish at heart. he only means the best, though, so i think an arcade is exactly what he would go for when taking you on a date! he doesn’t have a lot of money but still wants you to go home with something to remember the date by

↠he buys like $50 worth of tokens and splits it between the two of you, making sure that he tells you which games give the most tickets, because he’s definitely been here enough times to remember

↠his favorite game is either crossy roads or the big bass wheel- he loves crossy roads because of how cute the style is, but also there is impending stress and levels of  d o o m  as you progress further. big bass wheel is basically just gambling, and i think he’s yumeko jabami.

↠he hacks games to make you win sometimes,, his quirk is bascially designed to do this. it’s like he was born just to take you out on this arcade date. he uses his quirk to short circuit the game and trick the computer into giving you hundreds of tickets

↠he just wants to make you happy and see you smile!! there’s not a feeling quite like succeeding at something as silly as an arcade game, but there’s a certain pride to it that he loves seeing on your face. 

↠kaminari only does it a few times, since he knows that you should be earning your prizes ((not that you know when he does it, he’s really cheeky about it))

↠playyyy multiplayers with him! he loves DDR (dance dance revolution)- you do multiple rounds and are equally exhausted by the end of it akdflad you may not be good, and tbh neither is denki, but you still have fun, which is what matters

↠he also loves taking photobooth pictures, he puts on the most horrendous filters and does the dumbest poses, but it’s so adorable. he does the typical one smile, one “serious”, one silly face, one kith > <

↠there’s electricity coming off of him, kids sometimes have to dodge it when passing by

↠so anyways, by the end of the date, you’re basically being kicked out of the arcade, because, as kami puts it,

“we were here when it opened and i’ll be damned if we’re not here when it closes,”

↠between the two of you, you’ve aquired tens of thousands of tickets??? the employees probably hate y’all, they had to count those beasts of ticket rolls you’ve accumulated during the 10 hours the arcade was open

↠exactly 62,069 tickets (69 go brrr- kaminari’s brain), and you can basically buy the arcade with that currency

↠but here’s the thing: he lets you spend all of it. you heard me, all. of. it. he just wants to see you happy, and the best way he can think of to get a final glorious memory of your smile is to let you spend the tickets as you see fit, this generosity just to see you glowing as you walk out of the building, arms chock full of amazing junk

↠but of course, you’d feel bad if you spent all of it, especially since he was the one who took you out, so you offered him the half of the tickets that were won

↠he tried to be smooth and it failed, but you chuckled at the attempt, so all around, he considered it a success

amajiki- a walk and picnic in a japanese garden

↠tamaki is very shy, very socially anxious. he’s the kind to wait for people to leave a section of a store before he goes there, purposely do his errands in the early morning to limit social interaction, and find any excuse to leave a situation. which, tbh, isn’t that all of us?

↠let’s be honest here, if it wasn’t y’alls first date, he’d probably not go anywhere. as long as he’s with you, he doesn’t really care for anything too fancy

↠but he’s convinced himself that he needs to do something reasonably big for your first date to make sure you don’t regret your decision to go out with him. so instead of deciding to stay in, he goes somewhere that’s only slightly anxious for him, but where he still feels comfortable

↠so he’s decided on a japanese tsukiyama garden! these places are beautiful by design, not cheap but not too expensive, and people are obligated by rules to be quiet and keep their hands to themselves

↠nobody goes to a garden to socialize, in fact, i’d argue most people go just to look around, rest, and clear their heads. there’s usually not any screaming children, no quirk usage, no villains, it’s a little safe haven.

↠it’s so peaceful, and he gets to focus on you instead of whatever loud noise is making him anxious

↠but honestly, he wishes he could stay in this moment forever- you’re happy, he’s happy, and it feels like you two are the only people in the universe. right now, he doesn’t have to worry about school, villain attacks, his future, or anything that makes him anxious; all that he can see right now is how beautiful and at peace you look. he took you out today, and you’re enjoying yourself. this is one of the few things that makes him confident: knowing that he’s able to make you happy

↠a few minutes later, you’ve already adjusted to the sophisticated and intimidating environment, focusing only on the girl across from you, and how her eyes glittered with happiness

↠she orders a few normal tea foods, like scones with jam, lemon curd, and devonshire cream, and finger sandwiches. the fanciest thing she buys, though, is a blooming tea that arrives in a clear pot. it has an open flower inside of it, which is what the tea is infused with. it’s nearly 16,100 yen for one pot, though, and while you protest its expense, momo reassures you that it’s no problem (you just learned not to say anything about money, as it wouldn’t stop yaoyorozu from spoiling you)

↠ngl, it’s so fun to pretend to be fancy for a few hours at a tea room !! you acted as if you were a member of high society, using stereotypes to exaggerate your actions. it made some people only slightly irritated, but hey, it got a laugh out of a pretty girl, so who’s the real winner? 

↠yaomomo taught you some classy etiquette that you should definitely use, it makes her so happy to think that you’re learning about new things while still enjoying your time with her

↠she makes really good conversation!! her intellect seeps through everything she says, anyone who talks to her would be able to tell that she’s extremely well-spoken and mature. momo is modest, and deflects a lot of the compliments you try to give her, so if you try to display your admiration for her, you’d probably need to be very specific about it. she doesn’t have the best self-image when it comes to her heroism and field work. spoken affection sometimes doesn’t get through to her, but you know what does? physical affection!

↠she loves cuddles, and will regularly take you back to her house after a date to cuddle in her bed. her mattress is legendary, and it’s comfortable as hell. there’s an abundance of pillows and the bed isn’t too soft or too firm, and it’s always somehow an amazing temperature???? mattresses are investments, and this was definitely a good one

↠momo loves the intimacy and trust of holding you, it allows her to escape from overthinking and only focus on you, her beautiful partner. she doesn’t care if she’s the big or little spoon, but her favorite kind of cuddling is when you’re on your back and she’s curled into your side, head tucked under your chin and hand on your chest

okay, so; the final battle(s).

im imagining it to be an [S] thats sort of a mixture of collide and act 7, with a mix of styles and including anime-esque clips- especially for the fight with dirk. there would definitely be some references to popular shounen anime but since the only anime ive watched in that genre is mha, i can’t really come with anything specific off of the top of my head.

we can’t forget about ol’ capitalist jane though. in candyverse, she’ll have to be defeated. obviously with brain ghost dirks push jake will reveal his disloyalty to her and join the fight, though reluctantly.

also, somehow vriska and the whole “causing an event so large and canonical that the universe can’t be ignored and be kept inside the black hole” thing has to tie into this. i honestly think dirk cares less though about candyverses relevancy, as long as he stays relevant himself. so i don’t think he’ll do anything about it, unless candy becoming relevant somehow threatens his own canonicity.

back to the fight with dirk.

okay, nevermind. we need to rewind a little.

i think prior to the battle, terezi would get dirk to revive john; leading to terezi and johns eventual betrayal of dirk. dirk has seen this coming though, and revives john anyways because why the fuck not. terezi will attempt to suggest to john to retcon everything and prevent dirk from becoming ult!dirk, but dirk will use his control over the narrative to wrench her mind away from the idea and make sure that never happens. also, somewhere along the line, john transitions and june becomes canon.

the real planning for the battle would start when the meat crews and davebot/calliopes/aradias ships both become within the same vicinity of eachother. meat jade would start being cryptic again briefly, fortelling the other ships arrival. they may establish contact through calliope or may just meet for the first time when they land on deltritus.

then it’s showtime. dirk and rosebot have prepared themselves well, knowing exactly when the others were about to arrive because of dirks loosening grip on the narrative. calliope wrenching over control again doesn’t mean dirk won’t still be a hard enemy to beat though - he’s still fucking op as hell and will probably manage to take control of the narrative during the battle at some points.

the calliopes are definitely some of the harder opponents dirk has to deal with during the battle. the others will give dirk a run for his money aswell though; putting my bets on aradia being a total fucking badass.

seeing kanaya will also definitely be a big battle for rose to fight, mentally. neither will want to fight eachother. at this point the only way for rosebot to even die is for her body streaming her consciousness into the robot to be destroyed; and of course dirk has hidden it well.

i think seeing both daves (and roxy, too) will be harder for dirk then he ever expected. obviously dirk has not only hidden rose but his emotions as well. he will fight them like they’re unrelated and keep his emotions out of the fight, but not completely. he won’t kill them. his final goal in the end is to be defeated; he knows it’s unavoidable. wether he kills his friends or not he’ll still be killed himself. he decides to not use his total strength for this reason.

the calliopes will pick up on him not using his all in the fight and one of them will confront him about it. he’ll play it cool for now, but post battle, in the postscripts for hs2, his true feelings will be revealed. may make another post about that later because i have a good amount of ideas for it too.

honestly, on the rose topic, i think kanaya will corner her at some point during the battle and she’ll end up surrendering, but she won’t turn and join the fight against dirk.

here comes the real kicker, though.

well into the battle roxy will end up confronting dirk herself; everyone on the ground, seemingly wallowing in their own defeat, making parallels to collide. he’ll ask dirk why he’s doing this. why he’s hurting all his friends; calliope was right when she said he wasn’t using his all. he knows dirk still cares about his family and friends. deep inside, he’s still the dirk strider he grew up with. he’ll hold his hand out to him dramatically, telling him it’s not too late.

before dirk can react, he’s not only metaphorically but physically stabbed in the back by his own brother - davebot. as his sword goes through his body, he falls and kneels on the ground in a manner that’s also somewhat dramatic, again mimicking the events of collide and )(ics death. his glasses fall off his face and for once in the entirety of homestuck you can see dirks expression. while he grits his teeth, not really showing any reaction other then pain, in his eyes you can see that this turn of events truly shocked him. he expected to be killed by dave in advance but not in this way.

as he completely falls to the ground and the just symbol appears, everyone will look forward with shock; especially roxy. i don’t think roxy would hold a grudge against davebot for this though and would sympathize with davebot in the postscript.

alternatively, though, it’ll cut to davebot and roxy standing next to eachother with dirks body in the foreground, arms crossed and expressions blank with a hint of forlornness; implying that at some point in the battle they planned this together. if that’s more your thing.

with jane also being overthrown in candy, which i will not go into because honestly i don’t really give a shit about her or that fight, the paradox space curtains close.

Wonder Duo (Bakugo x Fem!Reader with a Wonder Woman quirk)

It hadn’t even taken you a single month after getting your hero license to make it onto the international news for single handedly taking down some insanely strong villain along with their entire group of underlings. Even before you’d graduated from your high school hero course, agencies from around the globe had been clambering over each other to try and recruit you, willing to pay almost any price to have the peace of mind you’d bring knowing you’d protect them and their homeland. And with a quirk like yours, it was no surprise that you were in such high demand. Unparalleled strength, flight, and superhuman speed were just a few of the abilities you possessed that had caused fans to emerge from all walks of life to support you. Everyone seemed to eat up any scrap of media attention you appeared in hungrily, except for one particular guy named Katsuki Bakugo.

The hero known as Dynamight endured your existence with a growing resentment. Despite never having met you, he still hated the fact that you were hogging the spotlight. You were gaining popularity faster than what seemed possible, and soon enough you’d even overtaken his spot at the top of the Billboard charts too. Over the years, he’d accepted that he’d have to compete with his old classmates to be the number one hero in the country, but to him you were just some random extra that had come out of nowhere. To say that he was unhappy was an understatement.

“What do you mean she’s coming here?!” He had half a mind to blast his PR manager into next week for even suggesting to invite you to his agency. “I never consented to that! What the hell?!”

“A team up with her is going to give your own ratings a huge boost, sir.” The poor employee reasons. “The public loves her, and you’re one of the only pro heroes she’s even agreed to collaborate with. On top of that, it would be rude to retract our offer now.”

“I can boost my own ratings,” Bakugo growls as he stomps around the office, palms crackling with mini explosions. “It’s not like she knows this area anyway, so she’ll probably just get in my way!”

On the fated day of your introduction with Bakugo, the meeting did not go anything like either of you had planned. It was no secret that Bakugo was competitive, but the last thing you had expected the moment you saw him was for him to issue a challenge without so much as a ‘Hello.’ And the last thing he’d expected was for you to calmly accept without blinking an eye. He wasn’t stupid. He knew you’d be able to beat him in both speed and strength, but he couldn’t stop himself from at least trying. He had to know the difference in your abilities so he’d be able to find a way to reduce the gap somehow.

Nobody was going to try to stop either of you when you both were obviously hell bent on seeing how far you could push each other, and it would’ve blown their minds if they knew Bakugo had developed a little crush on you within the first couple hours of sparring. Sure, you were better than him at a lot of things, but not all. Not everything could be accomplished with brute force, and Bakugo was a quick strategist, He was already thinking of ways to capitalize on your strong points and work them into his own fighting style. He was surprised when you asked him for any advice or tips he might have after you’d sufficiently worn each other out, and it made him like you even more that you respected his opinion despite the obvious advantages you had over him.

“So, how long are you staying?” He asks you at the end of the day, hoping it wasn’t obvious that he was already calculating you into his future plans.

It only took a few simple patrols for you both to put complete trust in one another. Bakugo never doubted that you’d have his back, even if he rushed into a situation without giving you any sort of warning. And you were the opposite, remembering to hold yourself back just in case Bakugo had noticed or thought of something you hadn’t. By the end of your time at his agency, the crime rate in the city and surrounding areas had decreased drastically. Nobody wanted to risk having to deal with the two of you.

“Go kick some ass!” Bakugo grins at you when it’s time for you to leave. “And you better not make me wait too long before coming back.” He hated to let you go, but there were other places that desperately needed you. And while he used to complain every time your face popped up on the TV or in a magazine, now he just bragged about how many kilometers per hour you could fly or how he’d seen you lift a 60,000 pound semi-truck over your head with one hand. In interviews, you both had nothing but positive things to say about each other and the admiration between the two of you was obvious.

Whenever possible, you both met up to spar again to make sure the other person hadn’t been slacking off with their training. Bakugo loved how you kept him motivated and pushed him to improve, and you loved the challenge of trying to figure out what tricks he had up his sleeve and attempting to outsmart him. Neither of you could deny the intense chemistry you had and soon Bakugo was asking you to be his. He had never dreamed he’d end up with someone stronger than him, but he still considered himself the winner just by being the one to have you at his side. You, on the other hand, were just happy to have found a partner that wasn’t intimidated by your power and that treated you like an equal. Once the news of your relationship got out, you both went from being the top two heroes in the nation to the number one power couple in the world practically overnight.

Fics I Absolutely Adore and Would Recommend to Anyone

I’ve been meaning to do this for a long, long time, because I love reading fanworks and they deserve a lot of love and I love sharing things that I love. 

Obviously this isn’t everything, and if it’s not on this list that doesn’t mean I don’t love it, it just means I forgot at this moment. I will be adding to the list and I remember things or come across it again. (Trying to sort through my bookmarks and subscriptions is like trying to catch a fish bare-handed.) I’m also gonna shy away from the one-shots, even though I adore fun one-shots, just for the sake of organization. The list would be super long otherwise, and those are best sorted by fandom. Here... Here are just some brilliant works I want to rant about. 

Disclaimer: I say “recommend” because I would recommend these works, any time any place, but do keep in mind the story’s rating and tags and stuff. Not everything is kid-friendly.

Fairy Dance of Death

Fandom: Sword Art Online Word Count: 660,282 Status: ongoing

「AU reboot of the entire SAO storyline, beginning from the premise that Kayaba Akihiko was obsessed with magic and Norse Mythology rather than swords and pure melee. As a result, he created the Death Game of Alfheim Online rather than the floating castle of Aincrad—a world in which player-killing is not a crime, and the nine player races are in competition with each other to reach the top of the World Tree. Multi-POV epic following the stories of multiple canon characters throughout the game.」

If Catsy wrote the SAO light novels and anime, SAO would be among the legendary series. Fairy Dance of Death has this amazingly simple premise of making Alfheim Online, the video game from the original series’ less-than-stellar second part, the game that the main cast becomes trapped in. However, it’s so much more. They took the characters and made them characters, and everyone gets ample spotlight—even background characters that normally wouldn’t receive a second thought. It’s masterful work, and to boot, there is a lovely frame of in-game mystery and player conflict. The organization is phenomenal and I aspire to world-build the way they did. Not to mention that stakes are so much higher and this series has ripped my heart to shreds more than once. 

It has also brought me great joy, and even when I was in the dumps and didn’t want to read anything, a FDOD update made me pick up my phone and read when I otherwise wouldn’t have. It has a really special place in my heart. It updates once in a blue moon, but that’s okay. 

Even if you have never seen a single piece of Sword Art Online, Fairy Dance of Death is still a great read. In fact, it’s the Better Version of SAO, if we’re all being honest, so I would especially recommend it if you hadn’t seen the original. Or if you have. The characters are given so much love and detail, to the point where Fairy Dance of Death’s characterizations are More Canon to me than Kawahara Reki’s work. It is just a beautiful piece of fiction, and it makes you question the depravity of man on levels that SAO shied away from. 

Poisoned Dreams

Fandom: Genshin Impact Word Count: 82,852 Status: Complete, with a complete sequel and more to come

In a growing fandom from a new game, StrangeDiamond swooped in and characterized these bad boys so well I think it’s canon. It really breathes life into the video game lore, and it’s an A+ depiction of awkward sibling re-bonding post-Terrible-Happenings. Poisoned Dreams can be read alone with a basic understanding of Genshin storybuilding, but StrangeDiamond has an entire group of fics and oneshots set in the same headcanon, and they integrate them really well and subtly together. Not to mention that the narrative style is really clever with making you question what is real and what is dream (a big point in this story) and the inner voices of the point-of-view characters are very compelling. 

One Word to Change the World

It’s a really cute canon-divergent, and while the series makes no attempt to re-write Fairy Tail, it addresses the major events and just snippets in between. It does a good job at giving the vast cast ample spotlight, but it’s also an easy read. It’s special to me because it was the series that made me really pay attention to Bickslow in particular, and I respect that.

Vigilantis Pretium Libertatis

This wrecked me.

I still remember when I read it. It was the beginning of 2018, and I had the flu and a lot of time on my hands, so I binge-read this. It was simultaneously the best and the worst thing I have ever done, because I resonated with it so deeply there were times I was just staring up at the ceiling wondering what was real. I empathized with the characters to a level I rarely achieve, and I empathize easily. I laughed. I cried. It was amazing.

I refer to this story in conversation to this day. It handled themes published authors have only dreamed of achieving. Heck, if Dani (the author) took out the names of the AoT cast and replaced it with new ones, it could be its own stand alone novel. It is worldbuilding from the ground up, and any fandom knowledge you take in with you is used against you like a knife leveraged against your throat. Yet, no one is out of character. It’s phenomenal. I would say more, but this is something I daren’t spoil for anybody, because you must be as wrecked as I was. Vigilantis Pretium Libertatis is a level of writing I achieve to gain as a writer myself. It is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.

Life in Glass Houses

Fandom: Transformers (Transformers Prime, Transformers: Shattered Glass) Word Count: 119,900 Status: Ongoing (maybe, I hope)

「 No one would have thought Bumblebee and Knock Out were capable of getting along, but when they're stuck in a strange new world and their only hope of survival is cooperation . . . Yeah, they're probably doomed. 」

I could be biased because Knock Out and Bumblebee are two of my favorite characters, but it really is brilliant. Two enemies, stuck together—but not in an overly cliché way. It’s the right amount of cliché, with heaps moral conflict and inner conflict and sometimes just beating each other with a broom when no one is looking. It’s also a fascinating look into what makes a character the way they are in relation to the morals they possess, and how stalwart those morals can be. I can’t help but think of this story whenever I see or write a “role reverse” or mirror-verse AU. It does an excellent job at making all of the characters engaging and their own character, despite being in a mirror-verse.

Yesterday Upon the Stair

As a person who normally doesn’t read these kind of minor canon divergences, especially at the time of reading, I frickin’ love this fic. In fact, I think YUTS gave me a deep appreciation for canon divergence fics. It’s MHA in all of its glory but it’s so much more, and even the parts that rehash canon give new light to the characters and their points of view. 

I had read Viper’s work before and saw Yesterday Upon the Stair filling my inbox, and then I finally watched My Hero Academia. It was one of the first MHA fics I read and it still has a very special place in my heart. I recommend this series to people who don’t even watch MHA; in fact, there are some who might prefer the darker tones and themes of heroism vs apathy to the main series. Not to mention the writing style is phenomenal, and I aspire to be that good. It made me laugh. It made me cry. Yes, tears streaming down my face crying. It is the best ghost story I have ever read.

the Vantage Point Universe

Have you enjoyed the MCU, especially the first-era Avengers phase, but like me, were disappointed in the fact that Hawkeye was barely there? The VP universe is for you. 

I honestly have a hard time remembering what was canon and what was VP. And if it’s not canon, it should be. The VP universe gave so much life to Clint and to Natasha and to all of SHIELD and even the rest of the Avengers. It’s just...so good. It’s completely immersive. It focuses a lot on Hawkeye and Black Widow from before the Avengers team-up, as well as after, and it all flows together so beautifully. Not to mention that I can be reading a mission that happened pre-series, so I know that they are going to live with all of their limbs, and I still sit there on the edge of my seat the whole time.

The OCs, minor as they are, that are created for this are also wonderfully done. I can’t believe Dan and Phil don’t exist in canon. Every character, canon or no, is engaging and dynamic, it is a pleasure to follow each point of view. The emotional turmoil is also handled very well, and the VP universe carries the MCU trend of humanizing its heroes and takes it so much further. 

Ghosts of the Future

Okay so this is the only one that isn’t an Ao3 story, but rather a comic on DeviantArt. However, it is still one of my favorite stories. Even though it takes the commonalities of Sonic canon and turns them on its head, GotF really treats the characters well. There are enough familiar world elements to create intrigue, but it is set in a completely different take of the future, so there is ample opportunity for world building and being able to engage with a completely new thing. I wish SEGA put as much love in the series (namely the games, because the comics are *chef’s kiss*) and all of its possibilities as creators like Evan Stanley do.

The friendship and family relationships in GotF are so diverse and all so fantastic to witness. It’s a keynote example of the new hero and the old veterans, and both parties are active and trying their best.

Do not be alarmed by the starting art style. Sure, it’s rough around the edges at first, but then it gets better, and then it gets gorgeous, and then you’re left there so stunned that it looks like just life canon art. And then you could be like me, blinking slowly as my small brain finally connected that this Evan Stanley is in fact the Evan Stanley. GotF is an amazing fanwork, but she also draws and writes for the Official Canon comics (the IDW ones now) and that work is also phenomenal and should be supported. 

Whirlwind

I have to start by saying that I adore all of Lynse’s fics, and I chose this one simply because it is one of my favorites. But it’s all fantastic, one hundred percent. I also love Mirrored, the sort-of prequel to this fic, but Whirlwind just has the chaotic pure bean energy that each of the shows bring and it foils against each other so perfectly. This is the epitome of the Secret Quartet crossover, truly.

All fandoms and all characters get ample love, and the way the reader gets to see just how badly the characters’ assumptions are going is positively wonderful. It’s so easy to fall into the “I know what’s happening and so do the characters” trap, but Lynse leaps over it gracefully and lands in greatness. The fic had me smiling like a maniac one minute, and feeling sorry for my babies the next. Wonderful. Simply fantastic!

“And lilies are so elegant. The stems stand so tall, and the flowers themselves look graceful. I have a few different colours; pink, white, orange.” He paused and watched the little bee bumble around. “Do you have a favourite, Mr. Bee?” The bee hovered over the flowers, before settling inside an orange Tiger-lily. “Ah, Tiger-lilies. I like those ones too. The contrast of the black and the orange is so…gahh, I can’t find the words to describe it!” Shouyou turned back to the flower-bed and yanked out the last weed. He plunked it in the bucket next to him, along with all the other weeds and grinned. “All finished!” He stood, with his hands on his hips and surveyed his flowers. Pride swelled within him. He glanced up at the sky and then checked his watch. “Hmmm. Almost supper time. Tobio will be home soon.” He turned to his garden. “Are you guys hungry?” The flowers bobbed in the breeze, almost as if they were nodding. Shouyou grinned. “Alright, I’ll be right back.”

Humming, Shouyou picked up his bucket of weeds. He dumped them in the outdoor garbage, not wanting to risk them reappearing in his garden. Then he opened his large compost bin. He hummed thoughtfully as he surveyed the inside of the bin, noting the state of the latest addition. “Wow, Worms. You really like that new one, huh?” he murmured with a gentle smile as he greeted the earthworms in the bin. He scooped out compost they’d already broken down and put it in his bucket. As he was about to shut the lid, his eyes met Kei’s. Only his head was visible. The rest of his body, or what was left of it, was buried in the decomposing scraps. Shouyou stared into the glassy eyes of his neighbour and sighed. “Oh, come now. You know you deserved it. Really, I don’t know what you expected. Besides, it’s not like you’re stuck in here forever. Soon you’ll be a part of the garden too! Isn’t that exciting? You’ll get to be a part of the flowers.” Kei’s eyes stared back at him, unchanging. A fly landed on one eye and started crawling around on it. Shouyou shook his head. He reached in and shooed the fly out. “No, I don’t want maggots. I want earthworms. I like them much better,” he stated. Then he smiled. “Goodnight, Kei.” He closed the lid of the bin and picked up his bucket. He whistled as he brought the compost back to his flowers.

From my AO3 fic Rest Among the Flowers; a Haikyuu! murder fic. :D I don't have much of a reason for loving this part specifically other than it's just very...different from what I wrote prior to this? I don't know, it was my first attempt at "dark without angst" and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

6. What character do you have the most fun writing?

Hmmm. Honestly, I really love writing Hitoshi Shinsou from My Hero Academia. He's one of my absolute faves!!! I can't help but adore him! And writing him just feels so natural...honestly sometimes I have to physically stop myself from letting him take over the plot of some of the fics because he's not meant to be the main protagonist in them, yet he somehow manages to become a major character in a lot of my MHA fics/wip.

16. Tried anything new with your writing lately? (style, POV, genre, fandom?) Hmmm, not anything I've posted recently...but I am working on a different ship in Haikyuu! and have some ideas in the works for the Bar AU @kimium and I have...along with all the fandoms I have yet to write for for that au...ahahahaha
