1. how would you describe your art style? uhhhhhhhh, maybe "safe" is the word rn. whenever I think of my art style, what comes to mind is just how little I've been pushing things with it. I wanna change that ;D

2. what's your favorite thing about your style? I realize I like to use semi-realistic proportions, its cool how comfortable I've gotten with drawing faces and bodies

3. what's your least favorite thing about your style? It's so static man. same thing I said for the first question, I don't think anything really looks bad, but it just is lacking in creativity in comparison to the older art that should be looking worse than what I do now. I prefer my older stuff ;D (looking at you inktobertale2021.. where did it all go wrong)

4. favorite thing to draw? regular ol people. human characters are def more in my comfort zone, which explains why I keep hitting skeletons with the humanization ray (also I prefer to draw feminine characters)

5. least favorite thing to draw? I can't even say I rlly dislike it cuz of how rarely I even do it, but I am procrastinating so hard on learning backgrounds..

6. warm colors or cool colors? cool colors are my fav, but i find it easier to work with warm ones (I used to put a cool overlay over all my warm toned drawings hgdhfg)

7. show us a WIP behold, the wip ever. this drawing... was supposed to be posted on august 2022. and then, it was supposed to be posted on dec 21st, dream and nightmares birthday. (atp if I do end up wanting to finish this idea again, I'll probably just scrap it and start over)

8. what's the most fun and least fun parts about your process? most fun is flat color and rendering. (though I rarely do the latter anymore) and for least fun, tbh a lot of the sketching part tends to be difficult for me, sometimes its cool tho

10. how many different sketches do you usually have until your piece is finished? I think I do need to make more of at least thumbnail sketches tbh.. I usually just make one and keep editing it, trusting the process. 1. How did Cherry met her fiance?

- They know each other since they were in the high rank celestial academy (highschool basically) at first he felt quite the envy seeing cherry getting most the attention (due to her status and future placement in the celestials.)

He himself was a highrank too (he was basically a future vision prophet(?) Which is kind of a big deal) so he just one day decided to duel her (big deal if ur part of the celestials)

Needless to say he fell in love by first beat down lol (became a full time simp after)

Do they still talk?

- The answer is no. Unfortunately he was sentenced to death after breaking the celestial's command (cherry was months pregnant when this happen)

scope restore part 3

so it is time for some serious troubleshooting.  now personally I’ve never actually encountered a cold solder joint. but if there was going to be one it would probably be inside of this old ass barn scope. so after consulting the fully dutch manual and reseating the tubes for good measure. I got a schematic for it’s power supply and was able to test for voltages from the transformer. and they would come alive and go dead seemingly at random.  ٩(ఠ益ఠ)۶

it was strange because it would either have 120v on the primary side when it was on or it would have basically 0v on the primary side when it was on yet draw 0 current???  (＠_＠)   I’m writing a complaint letter to georg ohm as we speak 

after a few hours of desoldering and resoldering everything connected to the primary side of the transformer (inculding a very neat mains voltage selector switch with 110,125,145,200,220,245 volt options; making this scope pretty much able to be powered on from any socket in the world. (yet still only having a dutch manual available)) I dicided to say fuck it and just remove the whole damn transformer to test if there was some sort of short/ open winding. 

it tested good which was a relief and so to celebrate I got rid of a lot of unnessary bs in the circuit like the mains voltage selector, a weird 3 pin input connector at the back and these totally broken testing switches that can be seen in the bottom of the second pic. yippe ! less failure points.  (* ^ ω ^)

I resoldered and mounted the transformer back into the machine and gave it a test and it WORKS  NOW !! (not like fully actually working but like it turns on and gives trace)

so things are good. it turns on and seems to react to a change in voltage at it’s inputs appropriatelyish. no proper horizontal movement tho, but that only gives me more fun things to fix. couldn’t be that easy right?

so step 4 is going to be replacing all of it’s many black beauty capacitors  ( https://w140.com/tekwiki/wiki/Bumble_Bee_capacitors ) that have surely gone bad by now along with some drifty carbon composite resistor enamies.    (งಠ_ಠ)ง　

 so now I just have to wait for the replacements I ordered.

Strictly personal opinion that probably shouldn't be taken as advice:

Photoshop:

Pros: 1. Has layers! Omg yay :D

2. Very nice color wheel

3. Layer modes, and extensive color editing, and has brush modes too. You ALSO can add cool brushes and MAKE cool brushes

4. Gradients...

5. Filters go brr! Also the tools are Decent

6. Technically u can make gifs n animate, good luck figuring it out

Cons: 1. MY PC GOES EEEE immediately. me no likey :/

2. Expensive. That gets fixed by pirating the shit outta adobe. AND ALSO PHOTOPEA (the site)

3. SLOW. AS HELL . defeats it in a cool battle

4. It's hard to grasp :/ you gotta have experience w PC art programs. It's also better suited as a photo editing tool, so perfect for editing a finished work, not making one

5. No stabilizer! Good luck

6. Shit fill tool

Pros: 1. FAST. ITS SO FAST N EASY :D And intuitive ofc

2. It's like crunching a lil snacc but art... sometimes you eat a lunch's worth of snacks and then regret it tho lmao

Ah, so Viz’s vol19 is finally out, and I had a few notes flipping through it!

First up, there’s no special extended dust jacket cover or insert art to make up for it like in the Japanese one. Even Murata’s beginning author note has the diagram explaining how it works for the 3 volumes, but it’s also lampshaded by saying ‘the Japanese covers are special.’ So welp, that’s Viz for ya by simplifying and cutting out features... There’s also no new original art for the character page (it’s the same reused panels and only slightly modified from vol18’s) or the fictional disclaimer page (previous vol had a cute one with Tareo holding the sign but now it’s blank with only text…)

The vol begins where the last Hot Pot chapter split off last volume (ending at Garou), resuming back at the HA for their raid strategies (excluding Genos and Bang) and soon returning back to Saitama’s apartment for the actual hot pot shenanigans. The split chapter (and vol) have been retitled: “All My Cabbage.”

Highlights from the hot pot scene include: how Murata draws everyone’s hands with different ink styles, so each one is distinct. :O The familiar competitive carnage over ‘Master’s Meat.’ Kuseno happy he gets to see different sides of Genos, and Bang asking Saitama where he went wrong with his philosophy for training pupils at his dojo. :’) And of course, Genos being so high-strung and stressed, he snaps at everyone (especially Fubuki) who mildly inconveniences Kuseno or Saitama, to the point he accidentally snaps at Saitama too! Damn, Genos. :’D

Omg that’s 3 times he directs his ire towards Fubuki here; he can’t stand her.

Next major highlight resumes back to Garou with his textbook BIG DAMN HEROES moment busting thru walls to Tareo’s cries for help and annihilating monstrous child predators on the spot! Wooo! 8D He even took a stab wound to the gut just to go for the kill for that, oh my.

Oh? This panel removed the gray toning and now has different bolder inking.

“(Because) I’m a monster.” :’)) Ohh that sullen mantra where he keeps having to tell himself that... (Very different from Royal Ripper’s delivery of the line.) But I also like it particularly for how Tareo’s question’s worded, because that’s just…🥺

...Wait Viz, what. For mowing down some hallway monsters and when he’s about to literally eat an arm, what does that even mean. It’s such an odd fluffy choice of words for him to say here.

Whoa Viz, WHAT?! I mean, I’ve seen translations where it’s to replenish his blood or put meat on his bones, but saying it like that (flesh hungry) just makes him sound like...a zombie or something. D: Welp that’s some tonal whiplash and he’s certainly disturbing the kid without trying.

Ah, and here’s how they worded the tsundere scene. Where he clearly reacts, but denies how he cares and awkwardly deflects why he even came there in the first place. (Claiming it’s just for revenge huh...) When (yes he does care, and lol yes he did help Tareo) all other evidence proves otherwise. :P Also hilariously, Garou then immediately proceeds to help/escort/protect him in the scenes right after this, despite all his attempts to avoid/deny it. Garou pls. 

Yaaay. :D (Also another fun tidbit, but for the character page and back cover story summaries, Tareo’s described as not simply the boy who likes heroes, but rather, ‘the boy who admires Garou’ instead. Ahh cute. :’3) 

Course, further shit hits the fan once Rover (lit. translated as Pochi) intervenes.

And whew;; that’s some pretty harsh tact. It’s the same ‘what do I care’ wording as the previous tsundere scene from before (oh and hey, now he admits he saved Tareo’s life too), but this time, Garou’s gotta be purposely mean so Tareo runs away from him with the chance to escape, all while Garou jumps in leeroy jenkins style to distract Rover as the SACRIFICIAL DECOOOOY!!! (Even yelling at Rover like, ‘Nuh-uh! Keep your eyes on me!’) 

Ahh! The cola line’s still immortalized! 8′D (Same deal for him, as he thinks it’s the end among his final thoughts, but he still pops back with the will to go on~)

His ‘sit’ command to Rover has an additional ‘sit, doggy’ to it...which is another case of Viz somehow wording things fluffier for him again... (Similarly of note, but every time shit happens they’d have Garou exclaim a rather vague/mild ‘uh-oh..’ Just let him say shit like the dub would have done!)

Soon he drops in to meet Psykos Gyoro-Gyoro, and...

Nice. It’s been several times now the MA’s tried to butt in, assuming they know what he wants or what’s best for him. His NO should be resoundingly clear!

*reels back* Whoaaoa yikes! D8 Oh god, it’s practically the same thing that Royal Ripper said to Tareo! Oh my god, Psykos is a predator too! Abort abort!!! (Immediately before this she also admitted to abusing many humans/monsters.)

Meanwhile, Viz can hit some lines well, but other times they’ll loosely translate things like this (brace for it):

....scchhh;; Ugh yeah, no. That’s a miss. I knew they’d shoot themselves in the foot for over-simplifying Metal Bat’s fighting spirit concept before, cause now for the actual call-back it just sounds lame calling it that. Anyway, Garou’s got his own strength of will/fighting spirit here for resisting Psykos’ psychic powers.

Also, the badass ‘spiderman’ pose is translated as “so it’s hunting time!” which is...not bad. (Could be cooler like ‘the hunt is on’ versions I’ve seen.)

Ah, and these panels were redrawn. Now she snaps her fingers and the ceiling’s eye patterns glow to transform the room for Orochi.

The battle vs Orochi proceeds (Garou calls it facing first a dog monster now a ‘worm boss’) and ooh, this page is good! :D

...But this panel’s another lol for a random literal ‘gasp.’

...OHHHHHH!!! She calls Garou pure of heart! 8′D Omigosh yes, I was waiting to see how this would be translated! Also calling out those internal contradictions of his (which are quite apparent) and eyuauah, her sinister plans to brainwash him;;;

Hey hope this isnt weird or annoying but I really wanna try getting into Transformers the series, but there's quite a few series and comics and I was wondering where would be a good place to start for like watching the series? I just adore your art and after seeing the movie bumblebee I really wanna try getting into the series!

I’m going to take your ask as an example for anyone else that will ask me about this in the future!! First of all, thank you for the compliment!! I’m happy my drawings were a gateway for your interest in transformers!

So from here on, a list with my personal opinions on the shows/comics and different continuities which you can dig into. I will mention things that exist but I will not put ratings on them if I didn’t watch/read them!! It’s just to help you out with names!

CARTOONS

G1 - The Transformers (1984): You can easily find it online if you just type ‘g1 cartoon’. It’s like, awful but in a charming way. It’s the Good Awful. It’s mindless fun and randomness for kids that was the staple of 80s American cartoons, so you can start from here if you want to get a jest of who the main names are and what they are like, in very broaddefinitions (ex. Megatron, Optimus Prime, Starscream, Bumblebee etc.). It has no plot and your brain will melt after 24 episodes. G1 is 98 episodes. 5/10

BW - Transformers Beast Wars/Beast Machines(1996-1999/1999-2000): I haven’t watched it, so no rating but it’s G1 in the future. IN CGI! All the previous characters are dead and the main factions are the Predacons (Megatron's sly gang) vs the Maximals (OP’s furry friends). These bots turn into organic animals. Megatron is a bi dinosaur? I don’t know ok. Optimus Primal (!) is agorilla so good luck with that. Apparently S2 sucks.

TFA - Transformers Animated (2007-2009): This is a completely unrelated universe, we have a smaller cast comprised of 5 autobots+1 child and 4 decepticons, plus cameos of other characters. OP is the Young (!) leader of the earth-based group but like, he is not the leader of the autobots. It’s another guy with a hammer. Also, the decepticons have lost the war! Megatron has been living in exile while trying to regain some power, crashes onto Earth and is consequentially Tortured By Humans For 50 years before getting freed by his minions and, honestly? I would have tried to kill us all too. Relatable motive. Also, he has no idea who the hell OP is, which is funny. The designs are… peculiar. Many chins are involved.

The show, to me, is very polarising in its comedy and characters’ writing so it all depends if you like the type of style of American cartoons from the late 00s. Personally, absolutely not my genre. Cool Japanese opening tho. 6.5/10

This show was cancelled before reaching a proper ending so it’s left kinda… out there.

TFP - Transformers Prime (2011-2013): Another completely unrelated universe, called “Aligned Universe”(!), which also comprises some games and other shows later in the list. We have the autobots and the decepticons running around on Earth to scavenge resources, our teams have 6 autobots+3 kids and 7decepticons? It… depends who you count as a decepticon I guess. Here we have extremely kinetic fight scenes and stylish designs, even though they need quite a bit of getting used to, in all honesty. I am still not over Megatron’s design. I will never be over Megatron’s design. The stakes are high when the climaxes hit, and in general, the episodes are well crafted and well executed. Look, the kids are realistic enough to be taken seriously (even though one of them is annoying sometimes but u know kids are annoying) and I actually cared for them so that’s also a plus! I will defend the TFP kids with my life, fight me. I definitely suggest this show if you want a taste of the Transformers universe. 8/10

This show was given one movie to wrap things up before being cancelled, since it was too expensive to produce.

RID15 – Transformers: Robots in Disguise(2015-2017): Aligned Universe, a direct continuation of TFP. Bumblebee leads a team of three autobots and a half (1 minibot), they have two human companions who have adecent father-son relationship and shenanigans ensue. Also OP is a ghost (?)(????) with massive shoulders. Megatron gets distracted for five seconds and his decepticon ranks are full of furries. I’ve watched one season of this and I am still mourning the cute and colourful designs because this sucks and it’sboring. 4/10

TRB – Transformers: Rescue Bots (2012-2016):  Aligned Universe, a side story of TFP. IT’S!!!!!!!!! BABIES!!!!!!!!! It’s a show, for babies with babies!!!!!! I guess??? I haven’twatched it but I’ve heard it’s wholesome and cute. Very simple, no stakes, the tiny cast is all of new characters leaded by Heatwave. He looks like a grumpy yet reliable boy, I trust him. There are some OP cameos? Is he... a ghost?

Machinema – Transformers: Power of the Primes trilogy (2017): They are youtube shorts, another universe. Like, there are three other people besides me who have watched this shitshow. The plot is convoluted and doesn’t make sense, but if you really wanna have fun seeing the sassiest Megatron ever written, go ahead. He uses the word “precious”, so you know. 4/10

TFC – Transformers: Cyberverse (2018): A different universe, yet again! This cartoon is on crack. The aesthetics are adorable, honestly, they all look like they have garter belts and cat eye makeup. For the story, it’s clumsy and silly, but it does have an underlining plot that builds over the course of S1, even though the action isn’t great and sometimes characters can be written in a rush. You can start from here if you want. Bumblebee has lost his memory and tracks back the history of cybertron thanks to his friend, Windblade! You actually see Cybertron’s golden age before the war, there are no humans (even if it’s set on Earth) and it’s just pure fun tbh. It’s not Superb but I love it. Wholesome. 7/10

COMICS

Marvel comics: I haven’t read these, yet. Sounds like a bad idea.

Dreamwave Comics: I have NEVER heard anyone talk about these comics and I haven’t read them, but I know the company failed mid universe so I guess it’s not worth the trouble as a first dip into the franchise.

IDW Comics: This… this is a long beast that just ended after 12 years. It is a very, very long read, usually linked by red threads inbetween titles, but some stories are more stand alone-ish than others so I will suggest you these with my ratings, even though I'll link you this otherlist for the chronological order. 

- Megatron Origins (7/10)

- The Wreckers Saga (Last stand of the Wreckers, Sins of the Wreckers) (8.5/10)

- Spotlights I personally love: Megatron (7/10), Kup (8/10), Wheelie (7/10), Trailcutter (6/10), Hoist (6/10)

- All Hail Megatron (6.5/10)

- Optimus Prime (maybe I can give it a 7)

- Death of Optimus Prime (8/10)

MOVIES

Transformers: THE MOVIE (1985): You have to watch this with as little knowledge as possible. Please. You can even start from this. Trust me. 8/10

Transformers: Prime - Predacon Rising (2013): It’s TFP the movie in which Optimus does the same thing he does in 1985 and the decepticon doctor gets offended. 6.5/10

Bayverse (2007-2017): No

Bumblebee (2018): yes

Even though it seems like Miura switches up the way characters are drawn based on perspective but also Berserk has an all in all inconsistent artstyle. Some times it looks great often it looks a little goofy especially when it comes to how Griffith looks. Griffith is in canon crazy beautiful though I think he looks pretty bad. Top 5 ugly Griffith panels? :3

Idk maybe I’m just too biased lol, but I think the art looks great the vast majority of the time (tho yeah not all that consistent), and even in the v early or v recent stuff I find that Griffith tends to look better than the rest of the cast as a general rule. Also like, I really adore the early art, even though it does often look a little “off” compared to later stuff. So it’s hard for me to look at a panel and think “ugly” even if the characters sometimes objectively look a little silly.

Like Guts looks ridiculous throughout the entire Black Swordsman arc, but man I still feel like that art is v effective and yk, just full of fun and intensity. Like sure he looks ugly compared to, say, early Conviction arc Black Swordsman Guts bc of Miura’s less refined style:

But how can you not love it?

And like, for a Griffith example, I immediately thought I’d probably add this panel to the list:

But then I went to find it and I was just like, awww he’s adorable! No wonder Guts thinks of this when he thinks about how Griffith can be childlike, he’s a cute kid here. Yeah the art is a bit silly looking lol, but I look at it and I just feel fondness.

But hey I’ll still give this a shot, far be it from me to pass up a chance to write an opinionated list lol. So in the order in which I think of them:

1.

I mean this is just because I hate Miura’s current style, I still think NGriff fares better than just about everyone else lol. But that tiny lizard mouth and the sense of utter boredom that just seeps out of the art itself and makes it lifeless counts for something.

2.

I’m counting Femto because I’m drawing blanks otherwise and while I think Miura drew his face just fine throughout this sequence lbr here the Black Swordsman era swole art doesn’t suit him. Sleek Millenium Falcon Femto is better.

3.

lol so this moment could’ve been done way better but Miura like, kind of really sucks at drawing faces in shadow, and he went way too overboard on the expression. Griffith’s other evil stare moments are great, intense and a little heightened but not too over the top, but this one is ridiculous. I like Foss’ memory of it though, so that redeems it a little.

4.

This page always bothers me bc I’m pretty sure Miura just drew the lineart here and added like a random overlay of dark splotches to give it that magical transformation feel and they ended up unfortunately placed on his face lol. This wouldn’t stand out as bad in most circumstances imo but when the whole point of the scene is that he’s preternaturally pretty this should’ve been edited or smthn.

5.

I legit can’t think of anything else lmao, every other panel that springs to mind has that whole problem with making me smile fondly and refuse to designate it ugly even if the art sucks. So this is a free space for Griffith’s character design in the anime, which is what my brain immediately leaps to when the words “ugly” and “Griffith” are put together in a sentence.

kjjksdgjdgf this ask made me giggle, thank you! I haven’t been doing much shockblurr stuff lately bc holy shit did Fallout grab me by the throat and throw me to the ground and force me to pay attention to it! I’m also working on some things here and there and working on my mental illness crap behind-the-scenes a lot more than I have been lately, so like... drawing nor tf fandom stuff hasn’t been my main focus in like, 3 months now. However! I’m still v active in the fandom and absolutely in love with Cyberverse and v excited to see where shit’ll go owo

As for AUs, I’m basically an AU machine... I don’t know how to interact with media without saying “okay but what if this” so I always have a dozen or so random ideas floating around. A lot of my “weirder” ones I have a hard time posting publicly cuz I’m fuckin self conscious as all hell, and I’m actively trying to get better at being afraid of expressing myself and all that jazz, but it’s still hard! Like, I’ve drawn a lot of doodles of Blurr as a ballerina cuz I fuckin love Ballet, but my brain is like nO CAN’t POST THAT it’s too #Cringey or smth and I freeze up and I can’t post it. sOOO yes and no, I do have a lot of aus going on here and there, but most of them will never see this blog ;v;’’

I have a few BIG au ideas that I wanna make into fics, but fic writing is a slow and painful process for me at times bc of self conscious issues. I have a few fics on the backburner, like an idea that explores Longarm and Blurr meeting soon after Longarm joins the intel department and Blurr being like “omg he’s nerdy and tiny and he wants to be head of intel, adorable???”, and then I have a Big Fic I’m slowly working on that takes place on velocitron and it’s uuuuuhhhhh going very slowly.

I think Magical Girl might be my fave au overall bc it’s sO much fun to stretch the ideas presented in TFA to such a bizarre angle and... idk, it’s really fun to design!

Socks and I…we acknowledge each other’s existence and hang out when we need to. I only where socks with my sneakers and boots, and when it’s really cold. I cannot where socks all day. Like it’s impossible. When I wear socks I just feel hyper aware of the fact that there is cloth on my feet and it makes me uncomfortable. I can’t go to sleep with socks on, unless I’m extremely tired and just fell asleep. Even then, I’ll wake up with my socks kicked off in the morning.

32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends.

Most recently! My friend and I were trying to observe the meteor shower last weekend. And like the thing is for the first hour or so we didn’t see any and kept trying to find the best place to observe them. Then, I finally saw one, but it was right when my friend was looking down so she didn’t get to see it! And then, another hour or so passes and it just seems like we’re never gonna see another one, so we decide to head back to our dorms. BUt, on the way back we find a spot that would be just perfect to see them, so we just loitered there for almost another hour, jammin to music and just waiting to see some shooting stars! And then the next one comes but it happens right as I’m looking at my friend to talk to her, but she’s looking up so she gets to see it. After that some time passes and it’s already 3:30 a.m. and I’m tired and lowkey gotta pee, so we start making our way back to the dorms again. And then we find another spot that would be good viewing, so we chill there for a while because, though we’ve both seen a shooting star, we haven’t see one together. So we’re standing there, chillin, being goofs and listening to trap remixes of the Wii theme, when we both look up and go “OH!!!” and freak out bc we finally saw another shooting star and it was just great.

okay so please let me know if asking you more questions is bothering you but: 1. what is the magic like in this world? how is it inherited? how is it performed? wand/hands/spells/etc.? 2. do other characters show up and become friends with mar and jule? what are they like, if they exist? 3. tell me more about jule (just in general, random facts) 4. would either of them give up demon hunting for any reason? or are they very enthusiastic about what they do?

god no im SO glad ur interested, and honestly I’m pretty long winded so this is going to be fun. then im off to sleep time

1) Magic is varied, but basically the world is like ours only there’s a secret magic and supernatural world operating within in. Magicians, monsters, demons and stuff are all imbued with magical properties, although only humans (and in rare cases, monsters turned from humans like vampires, werewolves, and zombies) can actually learn and master varied schools of magic. Creatures like demons, faires and harpies are limited to the magic of their species and what they’re indivually created with. For instance, most fairies have illusory magic, harpies and werewolves have a inherent transformation magic (they can shift between human and monster forms), and depending on the type of demon, they have related powers. Mar and Jule are humans who learned battle magic, which can be of an elemental nature, or of a manipulative nature (shifting items around you be kickass). They use their magic to aid them in hunting demons

2) Mar and Jule have a couple of friends, mostly people from this gay bookstore bakery run by a dude named Damien Santos! Damien is a regular-not-in-the-know human dude, who has a weird backstory that involves getting disowned by his multimillionaire parents and using the hush-money so he doesn’t start a scandal to open up a gay bookstore bakery and live in the apartment upstairs. He kind of keeps to himself and doesn’t do much outside the bookstore, and Jule gets a job there and they quickly become fast friends. Mar kind of does a bunch of odd jobs and doesn’t make friends easily, but feels good hanging out at the bookstore. They know pretty much all the other employees and they look out for each other and hang out. Also, Damien starts dating this dude Nehal who is KIND OF AN INCUBUS WHOOOPPPSSSS and Mar and Jule are like fUCK how do we explain that we might have to straight up murder Damien’s new boyfriend. That starts Some Shit especially when Nehal and Damien kind of fall genuinely madly in love. 

Mar also kind of goes to a college nearby. He’s not enrolled or anything, but he sneaks onto campus to go to some engineering and math theory classes that are big enough to hide in. He gets noticed by Sarah Bolivar and her best friend Ji eun Kwon, and they sort of become aquaintances. Which sucks because unbeknownst to Sarah and Ji eun, Mar is a demon hunter, and Sarah is a harpy (not on his Kill List because diff race) and Ji eun is a Greater Earth Demon (a demon descended from corporeal demons who have lived on earth for generations)

3) Jule loves books and likes dressing more formally than her sibling. She favors button downs, dress pants, nice shoes, etc. But he and Mar aren’t exactly rich, especially since fending on their own after their parents uh…kind of got swamped up with this High Council of Monster Hunters drama. he does most of his shopping at bulk thrift stores and doesn’t have a lot of clothes but is adamant about dressing sharply at all times. He’s kind of pretentious, honestly, and can be a know it all. But he’s really good with people and she’s probably one of the most friendly people around. People feel at ease around her generally. She really favors plant magic and uses some to keep her apartment with Mar nice and lush. It helps that they need a lot of herbs for some of their niftier spells. She also really likes baking and UTTERLY SUCKS AT IT. Damien let her bake the pies ONE TIME and she may have killed their oven and poisoned a few fellow employees. So books and plants are really her strong points. She really misses Mexico even though she moved away pretty young, like 5 years old, and romanticizes their past life a lot more than his sibling Mar does. It’s not that Mar doesn’t miss Mexico or doesn’t like Mexico–but he doesn’t see much difference between their life there and in America besides the difference in scenery and language. Jule likes reading Mexican poetry and being like “Uh, you probably never heard of it” when people ask him about it. So, yeah, somewhat pretentious. But then she will enthusiastically and happily guide the asker through her favorite poems.

4) They both love demon hunting. There’s the family pride, the sort of morally righteous high they get, and like, it’s plain fun. Sure, maybe you almost die or get eaten or get possessed, but YO its FUN if you do it well. Unfortunately, they kind of get exposed to how morally grey demon hunting is when they actually get to know some corporeal demons and realize that sometimes…murder is murder, even if it’s a demon. That doesn’t entirely deter them, because they’re very set in their ways and honestly you don’t become a demon hunter if u weren’t somewhat okay with straight up killing things, but it does cause for some conflict and fucks up their codependent relationship thing they got going. They have to make some choices and Mar zigs was Jule zags and they stay demon hunters just…very different kinds, at one point in their journey.

The thing with this story is that really no one is morally good or pure. But I would say that the most ‘good’ of them all is damien and nehal? even tho nehal is a villain at first, its really mostly a misunderstandin lol
