A new AU ,new story --Journey to the Ocean Museum!(only draw 432 now
“You are already a part od us ,Stanley," --Jim
Tumblr media
Detailes ↓
He is the 432nd employee of this ocean museum, named JIm, but he prefers to be called 432 by others.
He is mainly responsible for feeding and caring for marine life, and it seems that he has a talent for communicating with marine creatures. Although he looks carefree, in fact he is a very reliable person.
He was the first employee Stanley met after entering the Ocean Museum, but they separated after only a brief encounter. His first words to Stanley were: "Long time no see, Stanley!" Stanley was puzzled by this sentence.
Although he appears to be an employee, he is actually an octopus. His true form is shown in the picture, with black radiance floating around him, which is proof of his power. In human form, he cannot exert all his power, but in his true form, he can control time and possess powerful power.
432 came to work at the aquarium for [jaiqu3ieu239@%^Ukjdiueiwegsgd] and because he enjoys communicating with marine animals and wants to experience human life.
He lived for a long time.
In the true form of 432, there is a clock symbol on the lower body, which represents his power attribute.
Because I have watched many videos of the staff at the Ocean Museum recently, I have developed an interest in the people working there. What would happen if the role of TSP was that of the staff there? Or, are they themselves animals in the sea? Possessing human form? This will be very interesting.
In fact, there is another color scheme for the clothing in the human form of 432, which is a red jacket, blue striped shirt, and yellow gloves. However, it looks too familiar to me and looks very similar to the teto in the メズマライザ一, so I gave up this scheme. Additionally, I am not sure if people working at the aquarium can wear uniforms in such bright colors. If you know, please let me know.

FIC REC WEEK 28 – HISTORICAL FICS
In Amore Veritas by FestiveFerret
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: T Words: 3,903 Tags: Truth Serum, Class Difference, Reconnecting
Summary: Prince Tony creeps down to the stables one night to meet with his best friend, Steve, one of the stable boys. It's something they do often, but this time, Tony has something special hidden in the wraps of his cloak.
Reasons why I love it: Oh, you poor, silly boys. I'm so glad they cleared up their misunderstanding in the end, because those two idiots deserve each other. This fic is super sweet and fluffy, and I bet you'll love it just as much as I do!
as you have honored them by Areiton
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: M Words: 1,734 Tags: Fantasy AU, Forced Marriage, Protective Steve
Summary: He sits in his chambers, silent as the three serving automans paint his body, gold and crimson. There are the sigils of the Crown that is his birthright, and the ones of Stone’s own kingdom. There are, too, the traditional sigils, of a bride, of the nine gods and the six kingdoms.
Reasons why I love it: Don't mind me, I'm just over here, screaming incoherently into the void. This fic is SO GOOD, oh my god! I love all of the symbolism and the blessings and the ENDING, fuck yes! I really hope you go and read this one if you haven't, because it's phenomenal!
Tribute Given, Treasure Gained by sphagnum
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: E Words: 12,051 Tags: A/B/O, Power Imbalance, Tribute Tony
Summary: “Steve,” the Captain said, hand over his chest. Tony licked his lips. Was he supposed to give his name, or remain silent until he was asked a direct question? The Captain--Steve, apparently--already knew his name, he had to, it had been included on the settlement he and Stane had signed. Was this a test? Time was passing and Steve was still waiting with his hand on his chest but Tony had to figure out the right answer fast or when Steve moved he might-- “Tony,” he blurted. “Tony,” Steve repeated. He hadn’t come any closer. He said something short that might have been pleased to meet you or you look good on your knees. Tony had no way of knowing and he wasn’t going to risk echoing it. He kept quiet. See, Howard? I do know how to shut up when my life depends on it.
Reasons why I love it: The language barrier gives this story so much tension and intrigue, it's amazing! I love how gentle Steve is with Tony, mindful of his nerves to the very end, and Tony's musings about whether or not he can trust Steve are perfect. I love this fic so much, and you should definitely read it!
a myth to many by nanasekei
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: NR Words: 8,660 Tags: Howard Stark's A+ Parenting, Medieval AU, Angst
Summary: “What I’m about to ask you has no relation to our alliance,” Rogers continues, his voice a lot steadier now. “I come here only in behalf of myself, and what I’m about to ask, I ask as a man, not as a soldier.” Howard feels as if he can see the anticipation growing in the room, almost as a cloud forming over them. The guards don’t bother hiding the shock in their expressions, and even Jarvis can’t fully disguise the curiosity, his eyebrows quirked. Rogers takes one short breath before locking his eyes with Howard’s. His blue gaze is almost peaceful in its resoluteness, as if there’s an element of inevitability in what he’s about to say. “I’m here to ask for your son’s hand.”
Reasons why I love it: Aaaah, the ending is so ominous, I love it! The choice to tell this story from Howard's perspective is brilliant. His inner monologue is fascinating, and it reveals so much about Tony's life as his son. And the last few paragraphs are an absolute gut-punch. I adore this one, and I hope you give it a shot for yourself!
Clan (of the Stranger and the Outcast) by greymantledlady
Pairing: Steve/Tony Rating: M Words: 5,778 Tags: Stone Age AU, Hurt Tony, Protective Steve
Summary: The Stranger holds out his huge hand towards Tony, palm outwards and upwards. Tony watches him warily, baring his teeth a little, not yet a snarl but a warning. But the Stranger simply holds his hand there, waiting, waiting; and his knife is lying on the ground between them, and there is no threat in the lines of his body. Tony lets out a little breath he’s been holding. And he’s trembling, but he slowly reaches his own hand out, tentative and uncertain, and brushes the fingertips against the Stranger’s calloused palm. And the Stranger smiles a little, his eyes soft, and wraps his fingers around Tony’s. (The one where Neanderthal!Steve and Homo Sapiens!Tony imprint on each other like baby ducklings.)
Reasons why I love it: The way they communicate with each other in this one is so precious to me. I love the whole setting and how their culural differences come into play, it's super intriguing. Definitely check this one out, it's wonderful!

ever in your favor by @iron--spider
Peter startles awake when someone shakes him.
“Sorry, honey,” May says. Peter blinks a couple times and she comes into focus, her hair pulled back from her face. She’s trying not to look a certain way, but he can see it in her eyes anyway. She clears her throat, keeps talking. “But it’s…” She glances away, wets her lips. “You gotta get ready.”
He remembers what day it is, and his heart beats like a drum at someone’s execution. But he tries to put on a mask, make it all seem normal. It’s everything but, despite the fact that he’s been dealing with reaping day since he was born, between himself, Ben and May. That fear that one of them could be taken away. Sent to surefire slaughter. But now Ben is gone, taken despite never having his name drawn from a bowl, and May’s finally safe. Now Peter’s name is in there alone. The last Parker sitting on the chopping block. He doesn’t know how to be. He doesn’t know what normal is, when the Hunger Games are looming on the horizon.

More on the process below the cut!
I have...SO much to say about this project! This fic was one that I've wanted to do ever since I started fanbinding, and it was one I saved until my technical skills caught up with my vision for the book. @iron--spider is my favorite author and a wonderful friend, and I wanted to be able to do this masterwork justice!
Given that it's a Hunger Games AU, I wanted to touch on the Hunger Games aesthetic while still being unique. I started with the cover; I knew I wanted red and yellow, something bold and evocative of the Iron Man, Spiderman vibe. It also doubles as an implication of the blood spilt during the games, especially in volume II - when Peter actually enters the games. I chose the spider for the cover, and painted it on the cover paper with inky black paint; I cut a stencil, and while the images did have some drippy areas, I don't mind it so much. It's meant to look like graffiti, Peter's symbol that the people of the Districts scrawl everywhere they can get away with it.
In turn, I also experimented with a paint pen on this one of the titling, done on the spine piece, which is black Better Than Goat leather! Again, I went in with a stencil, and opted for blockier letters, like something you might see spray painted onto a wall.
The endpapers are custom; I messed around with a weird cityscape I found and came out with the image you see above. The setting for the games is a futuristic city, much like MCU NYC would be, complete with an Avengers Stane tower.
And then of course, there's the typeset itself! The Hunger Games books don't have particularly striking typesets, but I did go for the dystopian vibe with the Rustic Printed font on the chapter numbers, and Moonglade for the chapter titles, giving it a very industrial feel.
It was also a pleasure to include the art that @angel-gidget did for the fic as well! Her book covers are so gorgeous and I love her manip style so much <3 I also included the short drabble @iron--spider did on her Tumblr, a post-story snack-sized fic, as well as a meta question she answered via her asks that I thought was particularly interesting. The District guide at the back, including what Districts each character belongs to and whether or not they are deceased was interesting to put together, and I hope I didn't make any mistakes!
Last, but certainly not least, this book was the first one I was able to do really nice headbands on. Shoutout to @morningstarbindery who helped me learn how! They look phenomenal and I never would have figured it out on my own <3
I'm excited for everyone to see these books! One day I'll have all your works on my shelf ;)

SteveTony Weekly - The Best of 2023
Tumblr media
We made it to the end of the year!! I read…a lot. A lot. According to my records, I read:
1300 fic
15million words
98% of that was SteveTony and narrowing that down to my favorite 10 was…a mission. Here you go--And I’d LOVE to hear what your favorite reads of the year was.
~
Trust Fall by Sineala
Tony needs someone who cares about him, bandages, a jacket, ibuprofen, dinner, a lasting romantic relationship, a nice time in bed, and assistance committing federal crimes. He gets them. In that order.
Gather Ye Rosebuds by lazywriter7
It isn’t like that, for many people. For them, love is the point: the axis around which everything else revolves, the destination at the end of a long, tumultuous journey. Realisation, confession, resolution. Happy ending. That’s how it goes. And love was a point in Tony Stark’s journey, except it came towards the beginning, rather than the end. The issue, instead of the solution.
He hasn’t been alone on the trip, of course. Steve’s been there: sometimes three steps behind, sometimes waiting up ahead by the turn of the road. They’ve sprinted and stumbled, sometimes stood still and refused to move on ahead, sometimes thought of turning away altogether.
Steve and Tony’s story began after they fell in love, and this is about how they fell in everything else.
a rose by any other name by meidui
“Just Steve,” he says quickly, softly, and his voice is music to Tony’s ears. “Please call me Steve.”
Tony can’t help but stare as it occurs to him that he should have prepared a proper greeting. What on earth is someone so young and pretty doing in an engagement like this?
-
There are a lot of things about Steve that make this arrangement easier than Tony thought it would be, but then there are a lot of things about him that complicate it, too.
Second Chance Lives by raeldaza
Tony's gonna die of palladium poisoning anyway, why not join a pointless expedition to recover Captain America’s body? And after, well, why not dedicate his last few months to making sure an American hero settles into his new life? What else is he going to do, get drunk at parties?
My Known Unknown by shetlandowl
That True Lies AU nobody asked for, set in a world where Stane Inc is the world's foremost weapons manufacturer, and Tony's employer.
I could lie tangent to your curves by RurouniHime
Steve is bodyguard to a prominent young socialite with too much genius on his hands... and who has taken an unfortunate shine to him.
Not a Breakup by Annie D (scaramouche)
Tony knew it was a bad idea to start sleeping with Steve. It could mess up team dynamics, make things even more awkward between them in the future, or just plain get in the way of their trying to save the world. Tony foresaw all of the above but not the advent of feelings, and at the most inopportune moment.
now I worship a celestial sun by haemodye
The thing that gets Tony the most is how long it takes him to notice.
Not Steve, or even the other Avengers, but Tony himself. It takes Tony almost two whole weeks to figure out that he’s unable to disobey a direct order from Steve, which just- what the hell is that? What happened to the days when he flew off the handle, unable to play well with others, a notorious wild card?
“God, don’t tell me I’m getting old and predictable,” he says, rubbing a hand over his forehead. And then, “Fuck.”
A mostly-comedic farce involving: 1 obedience spell, 2 pining Avengers, 1 long-suffering Sorcerer Supreme, and 1 single, extravagant Saint Patrick's Day float.
Can't Write One Song (That's Not About You) by FestiveFerret
Ten years ago, Tony fell in love with his roommate: funny, handsome, kind, smart Steve Rogers, who also happened to be the lead singer and guitarist of a band, The Howlies.
Then The Howlies made it big, Steve moved away, and Tony vowed to avoid any mention of the band, their songs, and the man he missed his chance with.
But chance has a way of giving you exactly what you need, even if you don't know it yet...
[Podfic of] When The Lights Go On Again by Dr_Fumbles_McStupid, kalakirya, KD reads (KDHeart), lattice_frames, lavenderfrost, miss_marina95, Opalsong, paraka, Superstitiousme, vassalady
Aliens have invaded earth, and the Avengers are scattered. While Steve leads the resistance, Tony once again finds himself playing captive scientist. In the midst of a violent alien regime, separated by seemingly insurmountable boundaries, Steve and Tony have nothing to keep themselves going but each other.

Revised Iron Man 3 AU
Going back to my other AU idea I came up with having Tony, Pepper, Hammer, Killian and Christine in a movie together, then learned that Stane had a son in the comics, and then I came up with my Harley AU; and decided why not put them all together.
Plot Summary below ↓
3 months after the events of Iron Man 2, Zeke Stane, the son of Obadiah Stane, breaks Justin Hammer out of prison after watching him for a while to have him work for him for his plan to take down Tony Stark & Pepper Potts, to take revenge for his father's death. That includes doing a deep dive into everyone they've interacted with in the past. That leads to a meeting with A.I.M.'s founder & CEO, Aldrich Killian, who as of lately has appeared more in the news for the company becoming a rise scientific research thanks to Maya Hansen's work and technology advancement that has landed them multiple military contracts with the US government. Also helps there's a contact with a certain blonde haired reporter from Vanity Fair willing to do articles for his company in exchange for a steamy night (and listen to her complain off the record of the increasing success Pepper Potts has done for Stark Industries and her status of being Iron Man's girlfriend). Still feeling bitter about how Tony treated him when they first met and in a relationship with his longtime crush, Killian joins forces with Stane's team on the condition to help assist with Extremis to help stabilize it for a bigger plan. With all the failed experiments in several parts of the country happening in the next two years, the group created the "Mandarin" and made the world think the Ten Rings were behind the attacks. Stane developing weapons for several terrorist to make things look more convincing. Few of these attacks includes Stark Industries related buildings.
One of the attacks takes place in a diner in Rose Hill, Tennessee, killing everyone in the building except for a young boy named, Harley Keener. Who claims that a man turned into flames and exploded.
Meanwhile, after the Battle of New York and the creation of Stark Tower now being turned into the Avengers Towers, Stark Industries has developed more innovated ways for clean power that they've become the the #1 company for clean energy in the world. Tony however has been dealing with PTSD from the Battle of New York and worries for the future where those aliens will return based on the size of that space ship he saw. He builds the Iron Legion to ease out his stress to cover all the bases for an all out attack. Building suits can only do so much, luckily for him, Pepper is there to help him deal with his PTSD that's more effective and helps with his mental health than building suits. Slowly helping him get over it.
Approaching the holiday season, the group begins their biggest attack yet. Taking down Tony Stark once and for all. Starting with taking down those close to him. And to eventually, take down the President of the United States of America in front of the whole world.
How This Story Ends:
Who Dies: Maya, Killian
Who Goes to Prison: Stane, Trevor, Vice President
Manages to Escape: Hammer
Christine leaves Vanity Fair to hide connections to Killian upon learning she's pregnant with his child and applies to WHiH Newsfront
Happy wakes up from his coma
Tony cures Pepper of Extremis
Harley is taken in by Tony to be his ward and moves to the Stark Mansion in Malibu
Tony finally has the operation to remove the shrapnel from his chest
Tony, Pepper and Harley lives together as a family
Mid Credit Scene:
Escapes from Prison: Stane (via HYDRA) & Trevor (via Ten Rings)

In Najran province of Saudi Arabia, carved in sandstone at the peak of a 200-meter hill facing east, is a petroglyph of a female figure. A petroglyph of a Mother Goddess that when lit by the rising sun, can be seen for miles on end. Over 4,000 miles north from Najran province, on Salisbury Plains in Wiltshire, England, one can find the world-famous Stonehenge— a circle of megaliths thought to be everything from an astronomical clock to a place of healing. Rocks and minerals are all around us, a part of common, everyday life and for time immemorial, our ancestors have prescribed them significant meaning. Since picking up rockhounding during the Pandemic as a way to get outside and still practice social distancing, I’ve become more and more interested in rock folklore which each excursion I take into some defunct mine or rock outcropping. As an artist and life-long folklore and mythology enthusiast, I’ve noticed that when it comes to nature lore, people are, in general, more interested in the lore surrounding things like trees and flowers. While I do love plant lore, the past year or so has seen me diving into the myths associated with rocks, mines and caves. I knew I needed a space to prattle on about my deep-dives, and thus the idea to write this little article was born!
First and foremost, I have to talk about the vittror (plural form of the singular vittra) a type of vættr, or nature spirit, found throughout Scandinavian folklore. I love the stories of the vættr, one of my favorite aspects of the stories being that the vittror can be found living in rocks and trees, and have the ability to harm humans who trespass into their domain. A vittersten is the name given to a boulder or rock formation that a vittra has claimed as their home. All vittror live along leylines called vittervägar, and it’s said that at the points where these leylines intersect, the veil is thinner. Supernatural happenings are more likely to occur in these spots, as well as accidents, illnesses and even death. A vittersten may lie at the intersection of one of these supernatural crossroads, and if you find yourself at such a dubious place, well… you’d best be careful. If you disturb a rock or a tree that a vittra calls home, you may find yourself with a newly-fabricated curse placed upon your person. If you find that you feel a sudden wave of nausea, a chill, or any kind of discomfort, it means you have disturbed a vittra. The best way to remedy this is to apologize to the vittra that you have offended, or leave offerings. There are stories of entire construction projects being re-routed or stopped altogether because the development of that area upset the particular vittra living there. So be careful, because you may find yourself on a hike with the need to relieve yourself behind a rock formation for some privacy… perhaps you are accidentally befouling the site a vittersten!
Another one of the more fascinating stones that have a particular folklore attached to them is the adder stone. The adder stone is a small rock with a naturally occurring hole bored completely through the center. Adder stones have a glassy quality and are usually flint, though in ancient times they were thought to be created from snake saliva, hence their name. Pliny the Elder wrote that adder stones were important to druids, and even until recent times, the adder stone has held a great importance in the British Isles. In England, they’re called Hag Stones, and in Scotland, Mare-Stanes, because it was said that whoever possessed one of these supernatural stones was immune to visits from the Mare or Hag, a vicious being that was said to sit on its victims’ chests while they sleep, causing them to have nightmares. In Scotland, Mare-Stanes were often kept near beds to prevent such night terrors, but they would also be kept on an individual’s person. They had other uses, too, such as being tied up in barns to ensure that a pregnant cow births her calf safely. One interesting story is that of a particular Mare-Stane with two human teeth affixed in the center hole of the stone, bequeathed to a villager of Marykirk, Scotland by an old woman who used the stone as a nightmare deterrent for some 70 years.
If we take a step back from the folklore surrounding individual rocks, and into the place where rocks are taken from the earth, you’ll find that mines of all varieties have a plethora of legend and lore associated with them. Being from California, I have heard many a tale of haunted mines and ghostly prospectors. I have visited the outskirts of the now decommissioned Emma Mine in Acton, California (about 50 miles north of Downtown Los Angeles) and have become intrigued by stories of old and forlorn mines. My interest especially piqued a few months ago when I read a passage from a 1959 article titled Tales of the Supernatural by J. H. Adamson for the Western Folklore journal. There was a passage about a mining site in Utah in particular that caught my eye:
“In another instance, a place was discovered to be demonic, not because of ghostly inhabitants, but rather because of a vein of ore possessed the strange property of drawing all the strength out of the bodies of those who approached it, leaving them weak, helpless and unable to stand.”
Something I discovered during my research I had no idea was a thing (for lack of a better word), was the amount of religious shrines built at mines, mostly to mother goddess and earth goddess figures. This concept of miners descending into the earth’s womb to retrieve precious materials as a highly spiritual and sacred practice makes a lot of sense in hindsight when I thought more about it. In fact, The Egyptian word bi not only translates to mineshaft, but to uterus as well. This was a practice wide-spread throughout the ancient world. At an archeological site known as Wadi el-Hudi in Southern Egypt, there is an amethyst mine that dates back all the way to the Middle Kingdom, over 5,000 years ago from today. Stelaes have been found at Wadi el-Hudi that describe a temple to Hathor that was erected at the ancient mine, where the goddess was evoked to watch over those mining, working, and traveling in the desert. The stela calls her The Lady Of Amethyst, with one inscription stating:
“Give Offerings! Give offerings to the mistress of heaven! Pacify Hathor! If you do this, it will be useful for you, if you give more it will be profitable among you.”
Even in the modern era, shrines have been erected at mining sites. One can find shrines to the Virgin Mary at mines across North America, South America, Europe and South Africa. As recently as the 1980s, a 90-foot statue of the Virgin Mary known as “Our Lady of the Rockies” was built on the Continental Divide 3,000 miles above the mining city of Butte, Montana.
I mentioned earlier in this article that as a Califonian, I’ve heard many ghostly mining stories throughout my life. While we have a plethora of stories, like that of old Joe Simpson and the ghost town of Skidoo, one of my favorite haunted mine stories actually comes from North Carolina. Gold Hill Mines, just outside of Charlotte, is associated with a slew of stories about haunted mines and ghostly prospectors. One of the more ghastly stories is that of an unfortunate miner who possessed some poor judgment— and dynamite— that blew himself up— whether on accident or on purpose, no one knows for certain. Local legend states that you can still hear the phantom explosion, and see otherworldly body parts violently disperse in the air, and then mysteriously disappear. I’m not sure if such a miner actually existed or if this is all local folklore, but it makes for a horrifying —and morbidly fantastic— ghost story.
I do, however, very much want to include a local story. This local story is about a cursed cave. I’m no geologist, but I think it’s safe to say that caves are rock-adjacent. The Cave of Munits is a popular hiking and rock climbing spot in the western San Fernando Valley here in Los Angeles county, but not many people know the legend associated with it. Located 86 miles from the stunning Chumash cave paintings near Santa Barbara, the legend surrounding the Cave of Munits is a tale that has both Chumash and Tongva origins. Munits was a sorcerer that kidnapped and killed the beloved son of a powerful chief. Munits stole the boy away to his cave, while the boy’s tribe stood below the cliff and demanded that the sorcerer return their chief’s son to him. Munits, however, cried “You want your boy back? Well, here he is!” And tossed the chief’s son out of the cave, limb by limb. The powerful chief ordered the death of the sorcerer Munits, sending a hawk to viscerally tear open Munits’ distended stomach as he lay sleeping after gorging himself full on clovers. It is said that the bile that flowed from Munits’ stomach is the origin of bitter clover.
While there are many storied tales and established legends about rocks, mines, and caves, there also exist many amazing stories that regular, everyday people have to tell— myself included. When I shared the bit of lore about the “demonic” ore vein in Utah online, many people shared their own strange rock stories, which prompted me to reconsider some of my own. I’ve had some strange experiences rockhounding, including a strange, deeply emotional experience while rockhounding out in the desert at a site called Gem Hill that is very difficult to put into words. I’ve also found a Mylar balloon at my aforementioned trip to Emma Mine. The Mylar balloon thing is… another story all of its own, but the tl;dr version is that Mylar balloons are frequently associated with the paranormal, especially cryptids, and the area surrounding Emma Mine has reports of everything from Bigfoot to Dogmen.
This article may be coming to an end, but my personal research is far from over. I feel like the folklore and mythology of rocks is often overlooked and forgotten— which is a shame, in so many ways. From prehistoric megaliths, to ancient mining shrines, to the modern day resurgence of adder stones, rock lore has been with us from the very beginning. I hope that in the very least, I’ve piqued your interest… and hopefully cause you to have more than just a passing thought about the next rock you pick up off the ground!

Thought of an au where narrator and stanley were actually dreaming about the whole parable thing but everytime stanely dies or resets happen they wake up then next time they sleep theyll dream about the parable again until another reset but like narrator found it very amusing and wanted to write a book ( he seems like a kind of guy who writes books ) about the parable not knowing that stanley was actually a real person and not soemthing his mind created byt stanley on the other hand is like idk an actual average worker and hes very excited sleeping as always to know what the next thing hell do in the parable. After narrator published his work, it blew up and spreads really fast and eventually got to idk stanley's coworker? Friend? Maybe mariella idk theyd prolly be friends and uhm they suggest it to stanley and omg his name is in the book what!! The main chr is stanley?? Maybe a cOiNciDeNceee haha no its not stanely figured out that every little detail about the book was exactly what has been happening on the dreams he and the narrator has been having wooo
Still dont know what happens next UWHFJENS i should really be doing hw instead of fixating over fictional characters
Also this au is heavily inspired of tons of stories out there and fanfics too and if theres somethign similar to this please do tell me 😭😭

Another writer friend and I have been kvetching about how writers have to be influencers to be successful these days and I was just about to bemoan that famous writers of previous generations never would have before realizing how very very wrong I was. These are a few writers who never saw social media that I think could have been social media celebrities in their own rights.
Shirley Jackson- Relatable mommy blogger. Posts include "How a Mom of four gets her kids ready in the morning" that is just 30 seconds of self-aware sobbing. Winds up on all the big the "real spooky stories" podcasts as a reoccurring guest. 'We don't talk about Stanely'.
Truman Capote- Colabs with all the biggest names on TikTok. He is about 8 memes. True crime podcaster. Everyone's favorite posts he does feature his childhood friend Nell in the background rolling her eyes at him.
Laura Ingles Wilder- Trad Wife account.
Ernest Hemingway- Travel blog + cats. Canceled for (waves hands at well everything), starts going on right wing podcasts.
Roald Dahl- Doesn't actually have social media but has *a lot* of posts made about him referencing his terrible behavior. Named but not named in several articles.
F. Scott Fitzgerald- His most viral posts include "Just because my third cousin wrote the Star-Spangled Banner doesn't mean I'm a nepo baby" and "Addressing the rumors around me and Zelda".

As a fan of the MCU and The Inheritance Games, it is a funny thing to say one of my most favorite and most disliked characters are both billionaire geniuses and they'd probably have an interesting showdown. To clarify; I love Tony Stark and I could care less about ToB1aS hAWtH0rNe. Start laying down your bets because these two have billions to gamble and the world's their playground but they aren't real, just fictional, so we make them bend to our will using our imagination. They both have names starting with Ts, they have brilliant teenage boys as their protégés, although, in Tobias's case, Xander is his actual grandson while Peter is not even Tony's son. The two also happen to be philanthropists, tech innovators, and helping cultivate the world in different ways. However, where one is a superhero with the motivation to save the world and change it for the better, the other stole another's fortune with a gamble on an invention and then left his own to a seemingly random girl who he brings in to play therapist for his grandsons after his death. However, it can't be said that these two didn't love the respective kids in their lives and that despite the mistakes they made with them, they still wanted the best for them, just very differently. Tony and Tobias also have their similar villains that they kept in check, for example, Iron Monger aka Obadiah Stane was essentially Tony's Vincent Blake and both these adversaries happened to be their mentors and older men. The wayward son also seems to be part of their character arcs except, Tony was that son himself while Tobias had Toby to fill in that role and there were major cover ups regarding something about the parentage and/or heritage with a murder/assassination story to go alongside it all. Oh, and probably the most ironic thing of all is that they are both dead but I will never cry over Tobias only Tony because that death from Endgame is still too fresh on my mind. I would just love seeing these two battle it out in a game of wits, morals, and ethics and for Tony to just completely decimate the old man while Xander and Peter would just be in the background completely ignorant of this while they talk about their inventions and discuss their favorite movies which, of course, include Star Wars.

I Can Say It, You're My Favorite - A Stanley Parable Oneshot
I was rambling to @beanthespleen about TSP and after some brainstorming, she came up with the idea of the Narrator sitting at his desk and making little plushies of Stanley. Then my brain rot rotted :) And then she held me at gun point to post this so here we are! I hope y'all enjoy this lil blurb I wrote ^^ (This is Baby's First oneshot/fic related post so apologies for formatting)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"... And Stanley was happy."
With a look to the sky, a fade to white, a final stitch sewn, it was over. The Narrator tied a secure knot of thread before snipping off the excess, and inspected his handiwork. Held up against the white glowing background of his monitors was a plush Stanley, staring blankly at the Narrator. It was virtually a one to one copy of the man but in marketable plushy form, down to the correctly colored embroidered irises.
The Narrator smiled at him warmly as he checked his flannel was buttoned in the correct spots and his minky hair was sitting just right on his head. These types of mini-Stanelys were a particular favorite of his. As if someone pulled the description of him straight from his notes—no, straight from his head—and made him exactly as he should be. He had all the time he needed to finish making it when Stanley went through the true ending; No extra time to go back and redo his work in a futile attempt for perfection, and not too short to make him hurriedly finish up before the loading screen would send Stanley back to the beginning.
The monitors began to flash images of Stanley's most recent run, but showed them in reverse. The tape rolled back and back, setting everything back into place for the next run. The Narrator sighed in contentment as he stood up from his seat to place the new plush on a shelf directly above his workspace. The mini-Stanley slunk back and leaned against a nearly identical plush. It blended perfectly with the rest of the plushies next to it, all from previous true endings
He looked on at his handiwork with pride before getting himself settled once more. Notes at the ready on his right, his sewing materials organized on his left, his microphone fixed directly in front of his face. The stage was set and Stanley was sitting in front of his own desk on the monitors, unknowingly waiting for the Narrator to set everything in motion.
The Narrator cleared his throat as he took hold of some fabric and scissors, snipping it without needing any guide. It came as naturally as breathing, he knew the shape of his creations better than the back of his hand.
"This is the story of a man named Stanley."
The Press Conference
Tumblr media
Warnings: None
Copyright: I do not own any Marvel characters or locations. However, I do own my OC Elizabeth Lightwood. I do not condone any copying of this.
You sat curled up in Tony's lap as Pepper tended to his wounds and Tony read the newspaper. He made sure to flip the paper backwards so that he was able to hold in one hand, so that he could stroke you with his other hand.
Rhodey was on the screen, talking about the Iron giants that had been seen. He was covering most of what was being asked. It seemed, to you, that Rhodey was Tony's best friend.
Rhodey had also saved you, so you owed him your life. He had gotten you, not to a vet clinic, but their house and had explained the situation. It turned out she was actually the same vet that had taken care of you the first time and let you in without any problems.
She'd taken care of you to the best of her abilities- rabbits were very hard creatures to take care of. She taped up what she could and attempted tiny casts. She ordered Rhodey to keep you with her until you were healed so that she could check your progress.
Tony had come by the next day after he was released from the hospital to check in on you. He'd retold you the entire story of how he'd defeated Obadiah and you were glad that he was irrevocably dead.
The vet- whose name was Dr. Tenpenny- talked to Tony about your recovery and the course for the rest of your recovery when you went home with him. She also mentioned about Tony trying to track your parents down once more.
Tony nodded and he got straight to work on it. He had talked to you, and you had agreed nonverbally to lead him to your house so that he could arrest your parents. Of course, the charges wouldn't actually be able to be upheld in court until you were human and could verbally speak against them. That bit scared you.
You hadn't become human yet, despite the new connection that Tony and you had. You cared for him deeply and respected him, but you weren't sure if it was love yet. Not to mention, the two of you hadn't been together for very long and a lot of that time was spent in silence, watching him work.
He was making a newfound effort however, spending more time with you in the living room. A lot of times the two of you were watching TV shows or movies. He had discovered that you liked Harry Potter especially so the movies had been playing on re-runs for a while.
At the moment, Tony was reading about himself- always the narcissist- while Pepper reached over to take the butterfly bandage off the edge of his nose.
"'Iron Man.' That's kind of catchy. Got a nice ring to it." Tony said out loud. "I mean, it's not technically accurate. The suit's a gold-titanium al-loy, but it's kind've evocative, the imagery, anyway."
Agent Coulson suddenly approached, a blue piece of paper in his hand which he handed to Tony saying, "Here's your alibi."
"Okay." Tony said, lifting his hand from your body so that he could take the slip of paper.
"You were on your yacht."
"Yeah."
"We have port papers that put you in Avalon all night, and sworn statements from 50 of your guests."
"See, I was thinking maybe we should just say it was Pumpkin and me alone on the island."
"That's what happened." Coulson agreed.
"All right." Tony said happily, folding up the blue piece of paper and putting the newspaper aside, picking you up gently in both hands to put you on his shoulder. You snuggled into him happily, closing your eyes.
"Just read it, word for word." Coulson warned him.
"There's nothing about Stane here." Tony said as he flipped through the blue cards.
"That's being handled. He's on vacation." Coulson said. You perked up for a second, thinking he wasn't dead, and then realized it was a lie for an alibi. It also made you wonder how often the news media was lying- or at least being lied to- from all sorts of events like this. "Small aircraft have such a poor safety record."
"But what about the whole cover story that it's a bodyguard?" Tony asked. "He's my. . . I mean, is that. . . That's kind of flimsy, don't you think?"
"This isn't my first rodeo, Mr. Stark." Coulson said and you decided that, yes, the news media definitely wasn't reliable. "Just stick to the official statement and soon, this will all be behind you. You've got 90 seconds."
"Oh, Agent Coulson." Pepper called after him as he started to leave the room. "I just wanted to say, thank you very much, for all of your help."
"That's what we do. You'll be hearing from us."
"From the Strategic Homeland. . ."
"Just call us S.H.I.E.L.D." Coulson said with a smile.
"Right." Pepper whispered as he walked away. She turned back to Tony and you and said, "Let's get this show on the road."
"You know, it's actually not that bad." Tony commented, stroking the fur between your ears. He walked over to where Pepper was getting his jacket, setting you down for a moment so he could slide it on. "Even I don't think I'm Iron Man."
"You're not Iron man." Pepper commented.
"Am so."
"You're not."
"All right, suit yourself."
Tony smiled and then picked you up again. "All right Pumpkin. Let's go deliver a speech full of BS that everyone is going to believe because I'm saying it."
You nuzzled against him and you could hear Rhodey's voice as Tony walked out to the stage. "And now, Mr. Stark has prepared a statement. He will not be taking questions. Thank you."
Tony hopped up to the platform where the microphones were, slipping you from his shoulder to place you on the wooden podium. You actually really hated it up here, in front of everyone, having everyone's attention. You wondered if your father would recognize you if he saw you on TV, or if he would not make the connection and think you were just another rabbit.
You wondered then, what your parents would think if you had been human and brought Tony Stark home to meet them. Of course, you would never have dreamed of doing that. But it was amusing to think about. How silent they'd be out of shock and also fear.
You settled down, your ears perked up as Tony got ready to make his speech. You wondered if people would believe his story though. Tony Stark on his expensive yacht with just his rabbit? You weren't entirely sure you would have believed the story. But maybe, since you were technically his soulmate.
"Uh, been a while since I was in front of you. I figure I'll stick to the cards this time." He held them up and the crowd laughed. You remembered why you'd liked watching him on TV again. It was because he could always make the audience- and you- laugh.
He cleared his throat and started to speak, "There's been speculation that I was involved in the events that occurred on the freeway and the rooftop. . ."
"I'm sorry, Mr. Stark." A reporter, female, quickly interrupted. "but do you honestly expect us to believe that that was a bodyguard in a suit that conveniently appeared, despite the fact that you-"
"I know that it's confusing. It is one thing to question the official story, and another thing entirely to make wild accusations or insinuate that I'm a superhero."
"I never said you were a superhero." The blond said and you recognized her from the bar. Oh, you didn't like her.
"Didn't?"
"Mnm."
"Well, good, because that would be outlandish and fantastic." You nearly rolled your eyes as he sighed and then said, "I'm just not the hero type. Clearly. With this laundry list of character defects, all the mistakes I've made, largely public."
"Just stick to the cards man." Rhodey hissed into his ear. You exchanged a look with the man and you knew this was going to go in the wrong direction. You were starting to get nervous, your hair poofing up and ears straight up as well.
Tony held the card up and said, "The truth is. . ." There was a long pause of silence and you closed your eyes, hearing as he set the cards down.
"I am Iron Man."
🎃 :::::  🧡  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━  🧡  ::::: 🎃
You were exhausted as Tony carried you into your guys' home. The lights were off as he closed the door behind you.
"Jarvis?"
"Welcome home, sir." Jarvis voice dipped off at the end and your senses were on high alert. You smelled something foreign, something like hard cologne and spices. It was not unpleasant, but it didn't belong in the house.
Tony paused on the stairs and you looked over your tiny shoulder to see that behind his couch was the shadowy outline of a man. Tony's hand held you just a little tighter.
"'I am Iron Man.'" The voice spoke and you noticed it was light, almost friendly and you relaxed just a little. "You think you're the only superhero in the world? Mr. Stark, you've become part of a bigger universe." The man said, turning so that he could face you. "You just don't know it yet."
Your eyesight was better in the dark and you could see that he was a tall, handsome African American man. He was bald and wearing all black, including an eyepatch across his left eye.
A bigger universe? Well, didn't this sound intriguing.
"Who the hell are you?" Tony asked, coming to a stop at the bottom of the stairs. He'd only gone far enough so that he could see the man's face.
"Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D." The man- Fury- said.
That was the agency that Coulson worked for, you remembered.
"Oh."
"I'm here to talk to you about the Avengers initiative."
Been a long time since I sent an ask but I'm hoping for your forgiveness xD
Anyway, I've been in a Stannis staning mood recently and remembered a theory.
Apparently the reason Stan is popular is because he serves as the replacement Ned Stark due to his strict adherence to honor, law and morality. Any thoughts?
I do see similarities but I've always felt them to be different people. They had respect for each other yes, but were never really friends.
Plus their flaws and shortcomings are different. Ned could have prevented the war by not telling Cersei but he was too merciful of a person for that. Stannis greatest mistakes and vile deeds came almost always when he compromised on his code.
I guess what Game of Thrones teaches is that both good and evil deeds, both selfish and selfless actions can have negative consequences. People don't act in isolation, the results always depend on how other people react.
While they both are characters that fully believe that "What's right is right", the are some key differences between them.
The first and most important one can summed up in an exchange that happened between Davos and Stannis:
"What is the life of one bastard boy against an entire kingdom?"
"Everything."
Ned covered up the truth about Jon being Lyanna's son with Rhaegar, spoke out against the plan to kill Daenerys (who was 14 and pregnant at the time), and refused to just let Cersei's children be executed despite knowing that they were bastards born of incest. All of that was because his honor and his idea of what's right says that protecting the weak and innocent is his obligation - especially if said weak and innocent are children.
Stannis meanwhile was fully ready to kill Dany and Viserys as children, nearly burned Edric Storm alive, and will 100% kill any of Cersei's bastards if he ever comes across them. That is because Stannis's morals are all about the good of the real and the rules of society.
This isn't always bad - he is sexist and racist, but won't allow his men to rape women of the free-folk because to become a rapist is to become a dishonarable man, and he won't tolerate that kind of shit.
But it also means that he is fully okay with Melisandre burning people alive because her God told her to and (more importantly) plenty of said people were enemies of his that were breaking the law by supporting other kings. Why would he have a problem with that? What's the difference between burning people in the name of Rhollor and stabbing a bunch of them to death in the name of the Seven/the king? War is war, and sacrifices have to be made.
Ned meanwhile will NOT accept that kind of thing. He has killed people before, and he WAS willing to let Cersei and her children be executed if she didn't run away with - but he still gave her the warning. He gave them a chance to survive. To end this conflict without anyone's death being necessary. Stannis meanwhile fucked off to prepare for war.
Another key difference between them is that Ned is much more forgiving in general, and especially with the people he cares about. He killed the guy who deserted the Night's Watch, but only because he did not believe his story about the White Walkers attacking them - if he had, the guy would have lived and not suffered any punishment. Ned was also not okay with cheating, excessive drinking, or people neglecting their responsibilities - but he was best friends with Robert, the guy who full on said "Hey, be my Hand, so you can do all the work for me while I eat, fuck and drink."
Can anyone even imagine Stannis Baratheon EVER letting someone get away with saying that kind of crap to him? For fuck's sake, Davos is his best friend AND smuggled food to Stannis in a siege in which he nearly died... and Stannis still cut off Davos's fingers as punishment for the crime of being a smuggler.
We also have the fact that, while Ned didn't really understand the Game Of Thrones. Like, at all. He legit thought Cersei wouldn't stab him in the back after he said "I know about the treason, incest, and I'm also gonna accuse you of murder." Stannis never made that kind of mistake. He despises the empty flattery and courtesies their society relies on, yes, but he always makes sure he has some card up his sleeve that allows him to get away with not enganging on that part of the game.
This also connects to another thing: Stannis changed, Ned did not. Ned Stark died because he could not addapt to the place he was at, not even long enough to just get enough time to go back to Winterfell and leave Robert holding his dick. Stannis meanwhile addmited that Davos and Jon Snow were right - just going "Fuck you, I'm the king, bow to me!" was not working, would likely never work, and if he wanted people to support him, he'd need to change tactics and help them with their problems instead of focusing just on his. He went from the king that even rejected, and who despised his subject, to "the king who cared." Quite the drastic change.
Finally, we also have ANOTHER way in which Stannis changed, and that ties into something he does NOT have in common with Ned: the way they handle being the second son.
Stannis went from sleeping with Melisandre just because it was necessary (both in the sense of "the red God wants it" and "It will kill your rival in a second"), to not so subtly bragging about the fact that she is his mistress and that she scares the fuck out of everyone but is his loyal servent.
This "sudden" change happened because, while Stannis never really asked to be king, he was always the unloved child. The one who was too difficult to deal with. The one who just needed to lighten up a little. The one who didn't have Robert and Renly's charisma. The king NOBODY wanted.
And then here comes Melisandre, telling the is the literal chosen one. The most important man in the whole world. The one who will save everyone and be seen as a legend forever and ever. And he buys into that pleasant lie because it validates all the anger, resentment and loneliness he felt all these years, and tells him "It was not your fault, you were right all along. Everyone else was the problem, not you"
Ned meanwhile, despite loving Catelyn and the life they had together, would often get all melancolic over the fact that he was not supposed to be the heir, the ruler of Winterfell. And when Robert comes in offering to give him MORE power, MORE responsibility, MORE of a great status, he fucking hates it. Unlike Stannis, Ned doesn't resent the time he spent in his brother's shadow as the "least important one." He seems to miss it and the safety it brought to him.
Which is why he often refused to play the game, unlike Stannis. Playing is the only way to have even a CHANCE of winning. And when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.
Let's start at the beginning... - .1
pairings: (Eventual) Bucky Barnes x Original Character
TW: mentions death, violence, angst, controlling behaviour.
🔅angst/fluff, first meetings🔅
Description: A young Birdie has her world stolen from underneath her and ghost in the night stands guard till sunset.
Tumblr media
Dear Diary,
Let's start from the beginning shall we?
Do you wanna hear the gut wrenching tail of how my top notch upstate New York lawyer of a mother abandoned me to my father. The Playboy of playboys. Or how about how she came back into our lives only to abandon us once more after the birth of my baby brother?
Perhaps we'll skip that for another time I mean seriously who in their right mind wants that kind of trauma.
Not me that's for sure but hey ho there are people worse off than me, that's what my Tia Diana likes to say whenever one of us complains about something. She's the live in Nanny, she's been with us since I was born cause Dad wasn't one for babies dunno why he kept us really I have my theories that it would be too scandalous of a thing for Obadiah Stane to let my dad get away with.
This is stupid. Why did I let Doctor Donovan talk me into this. Not that it's your fault. She's the one who told me that perhaps talking (writing) to someone or something would help me to not burnout and get a better grasp over myself.
Let's give this another go...
-
Dear Diary,
my name is Elizabeth Maria Stark. But everyone calls me Birdie. Tia Diana says it was my first word. I do like birds, I have a small mosaic of feathers that I'd made in class from all the places I've traveled to. It's my favourite thing that I made in art class, that and the ceramic infinity vase that I made for Pepper's Birthday last year.
My birthday is August 3rd 1993, making me fourteen years two months and six days old as of right now. I'm a Senior in high school, Obadiah kicked up a fit when my first report cards in primary school came in and I was doing far too well to be stuck in such a low level learning environment,so instead I got bumped up a couple classes. Yay me i guess.
Being a senior is great I guess. I'm like the most unpopular kid in my year, I mean seriously what seventeen year old wants to be shown up by a fourteen year old. So yeah being in senior year is amazing.
I told Tia Diana that the others like to push me about whenever essays are due, mostly the older girls corner me and try to get me to do their essays for them. She says that just normal and unfortunately I was gifted with a very beautiful mind. Her words not mine.
I think the only positive to my brain is that it makes Toby wanna grow up to be like me. He likes to do show and tell of all the things I do with him whenever Dad's busy and ignores our existences. But I always feel prideful whenever Toby brings home something from Preschool or Kindergarten and it's a picture of me or when he'd started learning how to write names he'd try to write mine.
Toby is the coolest kid ever. But don't tell him I said that I've gotta keep that disinterested older sibling vibe you know?
He's a little rugrat and I'd be lonely as hell in this big house without him. I mean I'd have Jarvis and Happy but you know Toby is my baby brother, it's ride or die for us two the two Stark kids destined for greatness.
Jarvis says I should go to sleep. It's nearly two in the morning and I have school in a few hours, I guess this is me signing off for the night. I'll tell you more stories later seeing as you and I are now gonna be best of friends.
This is Birdie Stark signing off for the night.
——————
It's going great. I thought staring at the screen in front of me.
Fury had ordered me to be dragged out of class. Coulson was in the car that come to pick me up, greeting me as an old friend but I would be honest I'd never met the guy before.
"Miss Stark if you would be so kind as to focus" the one eyed man sent me a look making me shrug a little before looking back down at what it was they were showing, "so what your saying is for the past fifteen years you've been watching me?" I tilted my head a little wondering what it was that made me special. Like I get the whole being Tony Stark illegitimate child but like come on now, that's why everyone at school wanted me, doesn't explain why these people wanted me. "Because you are exhibiting skills that would put some of my best agents to shame.. and it's skills like those that catch our attention" Fury seemed frustrated which I get I was a smartass when it came to talking to adults, the only decent figures in my life were my godfather, uncle Rhodey and my Tia Diana, our nanny.
Looking through the list of things they had on me it showed all my after school hobbies and clubs along with my academic achievements. It was no secret I was held to higher expectations than most, a lot of it from Obadiah Stane who seemed to insert himself in anything to do with my life rather than allowing it to distract my dad. It had noted down about my ballet and the catch wrestling and mixed martial arts as well as being captain of my schools debate club and winning three national championships in a row.
"So. it's a scary world out there wanna be prepared" I glanced at Coulson who was skimming through a file in front of him, "what the director is attempting to say is that we would like to recruit you". I was silent for a moment wondering how to respond, it would be a slap in the face for Obediah who always spoke of these big plans of basically sticking me and little Toby behind a desk once we graduated College. I wanted to go into politics to make a difference, he wanted me and my baby brother stuck at SI for the rest of our lives under his control.
"What about College, I've just started getting responses back about them" I tell them as both adults looked at me in surprise for a moment, "bit young for college?" Coulson spoke up as Fury simply tilted his head watching me as I shrugged, "I'm fifteen in a few months, I wanna get a head start in life sue me... besides the sooner I can get out from where I am the better" I say as Fury leans forward in his seat. "Pick a school, you can do both" he said as I had a stare off with him, "Harvard... they got the best political science department of all the Ivy leagues... one of their lecturers came to an event my dad hosted last christmas one of the most interesting conversations i've had with an adult ever" I watch as he glances to Coulson before smiling. "You know what kid I've got high hopes for you... welcome to shield Agent Stark" and with that I was a Shield agent.
—————
Dear diary.
scratch out the plans for revamping the CIA, we're in with the big leagues now. School was great, got an A in my midterm paper on the prohibition period in Western States, got to listen to my teacher go on about his father's time in the army during the second world war. Apparently he got to meet Captain America whilst over seas. which is cool I guess, Dad always said we were held to the legend of Steve Rogers by my grandfather, how no one will ever be as perfect as Steve Rogers.
Anyway's History was the only class I got through, I was called out of class by an Agent Coulson from Shield. Apparently my grandfather was a founder of Shield alongside my great aunt Peggy. Just another secret to add to the pile of things my grandfather did that we didn't know about.
But that's not the point. Point is they've recruited me. Me of all people. The local overachiever with parent issues and a habit for picking up things quickly.
So yeah Fury and I hashed out an agreement, I'd train and work alongside Shield during the summers till I finish College and then I'll basically be Shields personal political figure that isn't the secretary of defence.
Finally my way out from under Obadiah.
note to self - remember debate club captaincy meeting next week, grab notes off of Hailey and Griffin.
—————
Toby was perched on Dad's work bench, the five year old had zero concept of time so more often than not woke me up so we could go work with dad in down in the workshop. Jarvis, the ever loyal companion he was would always let me know if our dad was actually up or not before we'd arrive.
"Pass me the flathead" Dad held a hand out for Toby to place one of the screwdrivers Dad had placed beside him, I couldn't help but smile as I watched them from my perch. Dad was going away for the week so Toby had especially wanted to be up early before he left, Toby adored Dad but then again Dads the only parent he knew, Harriet came back into mine and Dads life for a year before up and leaving Baby Toby in her wake. Not that either of us would complain, where dad had been distant with me growing up he was attempting to make some sort of an appearance in Toby's childhood. It hurt seeing them sometimes but he was improving in some areas as a parents He had yet to miss a birthday or parent teacher conference so he was getting there in some sense, most of the time though we spent our collective moments as a family here in the workshop.
Toby clapped at Pepper as she came in scolding Dad, another adult in our lives that Toby adored other than our dad was Pepper. The woman was a saint probably one of the few people to be able to get our father to do anything, she was always making sure dad had at least one day during the weekend to spend with us, making sure he didn't miss out on important updates from the schools, not that Dad got a lot of input when it comes to our schooling that was more Obadiah who didn't understand the meaning of keeping one's nose out of things. "Birdie make sure your father gets out of here on time for his flight.. Happy will be coming by to pick him up" the redhead smiled at me before swooping down to collect Toby into her arms gaining a multitude of laughter from the boy. "Come along Stark Junior Diana is here to get you ready for Henry's party" she smiled walking out with the five year old on her hip waving good bye to me and calling back to Dad to remind him of his flight once more before both disappeared.
Silence fell over us as I sighed getting from my spot watching dad tidy some of his tools away, "send my love to Uncle Rhodey yeah" I say stepping forward to be closer as Dad chuckled glancing at me, "sure you don't wanna come with really good learning experience?" he offered but I only shook my head knowing we'd had this conversation before. "I've got too much going on here Dad.. we've got Mock SAT's coming up I've gotta get on top of those besides wouldn't be fair on Toby if I also disappeared" I mumbled seeing his expression fall a little before he smiled once more, "I'm proud of you kid.. I know I don't say it enough but I am" he reached out looping an arm round my shoulder bringing me closer before kissing the top of my head. "Thanks Dad" Smiling I pull away before calling out to Jarvis, "Jarvis make sure the old man doesn't miss his flight" I say turning to leave, "stay safe and don't be late for Movie night, you promised us you'd show us Back to the Future" making my way out of the workshop it wasn't hard to miss the sound of my dads laughter.
Going about the days following was weird. It was a weekend so I hung out with Toby in the living room, Tia Diana bumbling about in the background making sure everything was sorted for us whilst dad was away. Jarvis was being brilliant in entertaining Toby by playing Simon says and name as many animals starting with the letter 'c', I chuckled lightly watching on ignoring the homework I had in front of me. By the second Day of Dad being away everything felt off, Tia Diana said it was nothing to worry about stating that I was simply stressed over school work and my extracurricular activities, Jarvis offered up the response of Dad missing out on calling us the night before letting us know he'd landed safe.
"I'm telling you Birdie you have to stop stressing I promise everything is alright" the older woman attempted to reassure. I wanted to believe her, wanted to believe Happy, who came by to bring my new lacrosse stick to me, the old one had broken after I'd been messing about with DUM-EE. "Seriously Kid you're dads probably just partying with investors, Rhodes is with him so he'll probably kick him into gear about calling you kids" the older man clapped me on the shoulder as we went out into the yard, Tia Diana was watching Toby swim whilst Happy promised to help me practice my throws for next weeks playoffs. "I just miss him is all... I promise I'll stop worrying" I mumble as Happy sends me a sad smile, "he'll appreciate you worrying means you haven't become such a moody trouble maker" he laughed before chucking the ball at me, "I'm a teenager, being moody is my specialty" I shrug with a grin before throwing the ball back at him. The afternoon was spent like that Tia Diana and Happy distracting Toby and I from the fact we still hadn't heard from Dad, we went through the motions of getting ready for bed and everything. Jarvis was reciting the digits of Pi as a way of distracting Toby as I tried to get him into the bath, Tia Diana had had to leave early to go to her own kids. "I'll be back before breakfast are you sure you'll be alright?" the older woman worried as I shook my head, "go sort your own family out first Tia Diana they're more important we'll be fine we've got Jarvis don't we big man" I say glancing to the the ceiling as the AI responded with reassurance, giving me one last look Tia Diana pulled me in for a final hug. "Sleep well Birdie" pressing a kiss to my temple before leaving me in charge of the house for the night.
"Tobias for the last time, either you let me finish washing your hair or I'll tell Jarvis to not do the constellation story tonight" I huffed seeing the boy huff splashing one last time before grumbling to himself as I went back to trying to put suds into his hair. Bath time was difficult, both Toby and I related in the fact that we may adore swimming but bath time was not enjoyable, listening to the toddler enact some adventure with his frog and scuba diver, I grabbed the conditioner comb to run through the mane or hair the boy seemed adamant to keep as a rats nest. Curly hair was a curse he'd gotten from our Ma, I was lucky to have dads soft waves that curled when damp, a huff and growl was all I got from Toby as I combed the conditioner through his hair as gently as I could. "Henry says Mama's are meant to to look after kids not nannie's and sissy's" the boy mumbled playing with the bubbles I'd added as an attempt to sooth the grouchy attitude he got after bath time, I paused for a second after finally reaching the top of his head with the comb, remembering the comments kids use to make to me whenever Tia Diana would come and get me from school instead of Happy who everyone was convinced was my dad. It was harsh having to understand why everyone else had mums or stepmoms and I only had Tia Diana, when Harriet came back I thought things might get better that she didn't abandon me but really she was just bored and in between husbands, probably thought she could get dad to marry her this time round but dad wasn't the kind of person to get married, he'd done the whole kids thing now he just seemed to live life one one night stand to the next.
"Well Henry doesn't know what's he's talking about besides I'm a great sissy aren't I?" I say as he tilts his head back to look at me with a trembling look, "why don't I have a mama?" oh no it was one of those nights. Toby was a sponge for anything, would ask you to explain the reason of life to him before the sun had even risen, he enjoyed numbers and thinking games rather than cartoons, not that I didn't get him to watch cartoons with me, it was a pass time that we'd all pile onto the coach and just spend half a morning watching cartoons with Dad. "Cause we haven't found anyone good enough to be our mama..." I say not realising I'd started talking before wet arms reached out to try and hug me, "no need a mama I have my sissy" Toby mumbled burying his soap soaked head into my neck and for once I didn't care my clothes were getting wet as I hugged my baby brother closer to me. "I love you Toby don't ever forget that" I say feeling my throat tighten at the little ones words.
Bed time after that went smoothly. Toby seemed stuck to my side wanting to sleep in my room, nearly crying when I'd walked out the room to go get changed. "Jarvis start telling story of the constellations again.. i'm just gonna get changed" I ask the AI softly pressing a kiss to Toby's head before leaving to get changed finally feeling the days activities wearing down on me. Listening to the story of the Big Dipper and the different zodiac constellations I fell asleep thinking that things would be okay.
And then we were told that Dad had been kidnapped.
Obadiah took charge of the whole situation, taking up guardianship of both Tobias and I. Guardianship that meant leaving both Tobias and I alone in the mansion on lockdown with only Jarvis and Happy to interact with. He fired Tia Diana stating that Tobias was too old for a Nanny and that anything he may need emotionally I could provide for him. I was furious, crying heavily as Tia Diana said her goodbyes to us, telling us how much she loved us and how it had been a privilege to have been apart of our lives for so long, Toby was beside himself chasing after her car as she left, in less than a week we'd not only lost our father but also the woman who had stepped in taking care of us and loving us so unconditionally.
I was distraught, no matter the distance between us I still loved my dad and I still needed him. Everything seemed to be falling out from under my feet, Obadiah had organised for us to be home schooled, making sure to keep both Tobias and I out of the public eye as much as possible. Hell I'd practically prayed for Harriet to come back and take us with her to New York. To live with her and which ever number husband she was on.
Coulson tried reaching out to me, I said I was under new guardianship and that circumstances had changed. He simply acknowledged what was going on, offering his condolences and that the offer for shield still remained when things were sorted out if I was still wanting it. I wanted to say yes, every part of me said yes but to yes would mean to leave Toby alone and I couldn't do that, too many people had already abandoned us I couldn't do that to him. "I'll think about it.. thank you though" I murmured ending the call focusing back in on Toby who was going through reading time with Jarvis.
—————
Dear diary
Someone came to try and kill me last night. They'd disabled Jarvis and all power to the house and tried to strangle me.
I don't know much about the man who saved me, I saw he had a mask, long hair and a metal arm.
He spoke Russian and English.
He's scary strong.
He saved me.
—————
I was curled in the corner of my room staring at the dead body on my floor and the man standing over it. My throat and chest ached as if acid had been poured down my airways. He seemed to be staring at me before moving forward reaching for me, I squeaked shocked for a moment before being lifted into his arms. I wanted to fight but my limbs wouldn't move neither would my mouth in an effort to scream, maybe he was kidnapping me? oh god what if Obadiah had pissed off someone and now I was paying for it.
Slowly carrying me into one of the guest rooms he placed me on the bed, "оставаться" he muttered before leaving I stayed put going over what had happened my eyes slowly filling with tears at the thought I'd nearly died. Quietly I started crying clutching at my chest as the fear of what had happened came over me. Some time later then man reappeared kneeling in front of me, watching me for a moment before reaching for the hand that was near clawing at my throat, taking it gently in the hand that was flesh. "You're safe now" he murmured softly, giving my hand a squeeze before letting go and moving away. "Don't go please" I didn't recognise my own voice, he came back slowly as I reached out wanting comfort so badly, I hadn't had a hug from anyone but Toby since Pepper came by to check on us a week ago. Holding onto the man who saved me, I cried half scared out of my mind confused as to why and how someone would try and kill me, he was stiff unsure as to what to do but left me to hold onto him. Toby. Oh god Toby. "My brother... oh my god Toby I need too-" the stranger was already up and out the room, I sobbed the fear that my baby brother could be dead that they would have gone out of their way to kill a child was gut wrenching.
As quickly as he left the stranger was back with a blue and green bundle in his arms, tuffs of dark hair sticking out as he approached me with Toby asleep against him. Gasping I reached out letting the stranger slip my brother into my arms, hiccuping slightly I pressed kisses to the crown of his head. "Thank you... Thank you..." I whimpered cradling Toby as close as I could to my chest. The toddler huffed at me disturbing his slumber but didn't seem to wake, I didn't care looking over him he seemed unharmed and simply lost in dreamland, burying my nose in his hair I took a deep breath trying to take in his smell.
Mystery man simply stood at attention his eyes scouting around the room, glancing to him I tried to see if I could make out anything distinctive about him other than the metal arm and mask. "Sleep. I will check the house" was the only thing to come out of his mouth before he disappeared from the room leaving me to the silence of Toby's soft snores. I didn't go back sleep simply tucked my brother into my side and held him there, I spent the rest of the night staring out of the window waiting for the sun to rise. He came back to the room once more standing in the doorway for a moment looking in on us before vanishing once more.
When the sun finally rose from the edge of the ocean Jarvis turned back on. Apologise reverberated from the AI to which I waved him off, "it's okay Jarvis... both Toby and I are okay..." I tell him as I go about sorting out Toby who had woken up in confusion as to why he was in a different room, I simply told him Jarvis had a power cut and I didn't want him to wake up alone with out his nightlights. After checking the house throughout the day nothing seemed disturbed except for the singular blood drop on the floor leading to the back door, stepping out I walked to the edge of the cliff looking out over the sea, feeling the waves shower droplets of salt water into the air being blown through my hair. I stared out waiting wondering if the stranger was still around if we'd once again been left on our own in such a big house. I was right to wait as I felt a presence at my side, the sun was already setting and I could hear the sounds of Jarvis playing Bill Nye the science guy for Toby. I stayed in silence waiting for the presence to make a move instead he simply stood waiting just as patiently, watching my every move as a hollering laugh rung out in the air from the house causing him to flinch ever so slightly.
"It's just Bill Nye.. Toby likes watching it after dinner" I murmur my gaze falling to the shadowy figure, glinting metal catching the last rays of sun. "Thank you... I don't know if you've come back to like kill me or something but thank you for not hurting Toby... he's a bright kid and he's got so much to give to the world" the words felt like lead in my mouth, every scenario was playing in my head each one as bad as the thought before but all of them ended with me dead and Toby alone in the world. "My mission is to protect not kill" his voice wasn't covered by the sound of his mask as he spoke startling me out of my head, swivelling my head at a dangerous speed I stared at the man long hair curtaining his face from me. "Why?" I shouldn't spoke but it had been the question on my mind all day, why had I been picked to die. "You're important... you're needed" It seemed as if he was struggling to think of an answer making me even more anxious at the thought that out there people where making decisions that resulted in life and death, "I'm not... trust me I'm not. I'm just a kid stuck in a world full of people who control my life with no way out" I say tears pricking my eyes at the thought of being trapped once again under Obadiah, I was met with silence before the feeling of a knuckle brushing against my cheek, closing my eyes I allowed the feeling of someone actually caring even if it was just for a moment.
Pressing into the touch, I didn't dare open my eyes. Parts of me were screaming at how I was being, this man had killed someone in front of me, yes he killed the person who tried to kill me but that still didn't make him any less dangerous and yet couldn't seem to find it in me to care.
As gently as his touch appeared it vanished being replaced by the sounds of movement, "the boy is calling for you- you should go back inside.. I will watch the house tonight" and then he left as I stood there fluttering my eyes as the figure of his back walking away.
I did as was told and went back inside getting Toby ready and tucked into bed. "Birdie who's the ghost man?" he asked sleepily as I held my breath for a moment before glancing to the window that looked out to the backyard, the ghostly figure danced across in the moonlight. "Someone who's keeping us safe... you can't talk about him Toby not anyone- not to Happy or Jarvis or or- anyone do you understand" I say watching the boy nod before burying his head in his pillow, "night sissy.. night ghosty" he voice puttered out as he fell asleep leaving me alone to my thoughts.
I didn't sleep in my room instead taking the sofa so I could see out the windows properly. When my eyes felt like they might close I swore I saw the shape of the mystery ghost man, but fear wasn't the thought on my mind as I descended into the realm of sleep.
Blog Post #13: Funeral Parade of Roses by Matsumoto Toshio
Well, this was certainly a goofy movie. I remember after watching the film that Professor Smith had shown us a clip from this film in our Japanese Culture class, so I’m glad that we actually had the chance to continue watching it all the way through, and really get to know the characters. It follows the story of Eddie, a transgender woman who works at a gay bar in Tokyo's underground scene. The film explores themes of identity, sexuality, and societal norms through experimental filmmaking techniques such as avant-garde editing and documentary-style interviews. This film was a very pivotal moment in redefining what was possible for cinema as it spurred a new generation of radically-minded filmmakers doing everything they could to express themselves. Eddie's journey intertwines with that of a young man named Gonda, leading to a tragic and visually stunning climax that left me quite speechless after watching it. The film is known for its bold portrayal of LGBTQ+ characters and its influential impact on Japanese cinema, what is evident in some of the great films it inspired, one being Stanely Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange.”
Tumblr media
One thing that especially stood out to me in this film was Matsumoto’s ability to depict the complex identity of a transgender woman living in Japan. After Professor Smith’s lectures in Japanese Culture on the whole “gay-boy” subculture in Japan, I was quite curious to see how people of this marginalized group were able to survive in this society. The film portrays Eddie's complex journey of self-discovery and self-expression as she navigates Tokyo's underground LGBTQ+ scene. Through Eddie's experiences, the film delves into the challenges and complexities of transgender identity, including societal pressures, internal conflicts, and the search for authenticity and acceptance. I felt that Matsumoto’s directing choices really allowed viewers to look into the eyes of the protagonist and get behind the character’s mental state. I found myself being able to understand not only Eddie’s experiences, but more about the transgender identity in Japan as a whole. Matsumoto’s portrayal of Eddie was able to  challenge traditional gender norms and explores the fluidity of gender identity, offering a thought-provoking exploration of transgender experiences in a time when such narratives were rarely depicted in mainstream cinema. I always love when film directors target a more controversial, and less-spoken about topic in cinema, so I greatly appreciated Matsumoto’s directing in that regard.
In terms of the directing, some scenes were definitely a little hard to watch. While I think the sex and the gore did add to the movie (as in it wasn’t unnecessary, some films like to do that), I did find myself thinking, this is really weird (my unprofessional thoughts). However, I love arthouse films so this was definitely a fantastic movie in the sense of the way it was directed and the overall weirdness I found myself to be quite a fan of.
The Happy, The Gay, and the Terrifying (A Cartoon Universe Crossover AU)
List of Universes Involved:
The Owl House
Amphibia
Gravity Falls
Transformers: Prime
Steven Universe
Phineas and Ferb
Undertale
FNaF
BatIM/DR
_______________________________________________________
The Happy, The Gay, and The Terrifying is a universe that combines the universes shown above into a single and (hopefully) cohesive universe. Storywise, this is an epilogue that would explore all of these universe meeting somehow, with various interactions and REactions to specific news and revelations. (ALSO this is a mainly POSITIVE AU, so Vanessa aint Vanny no more.)
So the Monsters are now on the Surface, the Human/Demon Realm exchange program is well underway, Steven Universe has been traveling, Dipper and Mabel Pines are exploring, Phineas and Ferb are at their respective colleges, Gregory has been adopted by Vanessa with Glamrock Freddy as some sort of companion, Jack is also at college alongside Miko and Raf, and Audrey is out in the open, still young and fresh. And well the Amphibia girls are all doing their respective interests.
So with the setting set (kinda), what kinda facts are needed to be known?
_______________________________________________________
Phineas, Jack, Miko, and Raf all go to the same college, where Audrey teaches as an art professor.
By this time, Gregory is in his teens and in high school, near the college. He has taken an interest in engineering and mechanics.
The Monsters are known to exist, but face scrutiny, similar to the Witches. But the college and high school are open facilities, so the witches and monsters who live nearby can go and learn relatively normally.
Ann actually takes a side gig as a biology professor at the college.
Steven travels the country and has taken up temporary residency in the area of the college.
The college is named New Cipher Academy. No, there is no Bill Cypher in this universe… but someone may be trying to do something about that.
Frisk is living with Toriel and Asgore, who get back together… even though that was a rocky road.
Sasha works as the school counselor at the high school.
The Ink Realm is still active, but due to the magic seeping from the Demon Realm and the nearby unleashed magic from the Underground has caused the loop to cease to exist.
The main threats of this universe are as follows: The Coven Cove (Witches from the Demon Realm that want to restore the Coven patriarchy), The Cipher Cult (Worshipers of Bill Cipher wanting to revive their “god”), Rouge Decepticons (Decepticons that didn’t follow the treaty (such as Steeljaw and Thunderhoof)), And finally Burntrap and the Glitchtrap Virus (Stuck in the ruins of the Pizzaplex).
Bendy has become a bit more adult-like, taking on a more grown up form. They work with Audrey grading papers and helping manage the Ink Realm. Oh, and they can speak fluid English AND Spanish!
Luz and Frisk DO meet up, since Frisk decides to join in on the Human/Demon Realm Exchange Program.
Sans works as a science teacher at the high school and runs the Science Fiction Club.
The Autobots still work on Earth, though there are only a few: Ratchet, Knockout, Bumblebee, and Strongarm.
The Crystal Gems stick to the island, but Garnet and Pearl commonly visit Steven and sometimes join in on the travels.
Frisk, Audrey, Luz, Steven, and Dipper all are more connected to the magic of their world.
Stanley and Stanford Pines both had set up shop in the town near the college, Stanley basically being Stanely while Stanford researches the magic upcharge he has discovered.
Also, Unicron ISN’T Earth, at least, not anymore.
There’ll probably be more but I just wanted to get some notes up before I began writing some stories or something.
