#This is me adding to my ‘the format of selfies videos are inherently infuriating to watch’ idea

I sometimes wonder if TikTok is also a rage bait machine not just because the selfie video format where you can see their nose hairs is claustrophobic and patronising but because with the pressure to constant churn out videos quickly? It kind of encourages people to not utilise one of the few advantages of internet discourse: thinking/editing for a while before you hit post when making a response to something.

A lot of social media’s including tumblr have comprehension issues. Twitter is generally worse though. (Its short post length means expanding on things is difficult and you need annoying threads). Heck tiktok with its short ass videos has similar issues as Twitter for this reason.

But like it’s not even sometimes ‘piss on the poor’ levels of bad reading (watching?) comprehension. It feels like you didn’t even watch the other video all the way through. Even though it has a time limit. It’s like they’re afraid the ability to insert their two cents is now or never. (Even though it usually would be better if they hadn’t respond at all). At least piss on the poor reading posts often skimmed what they respond to.
