Erebus and the Umbra

When Nyx created the Umbra and the first Guardians she drew upon the Darkness of Erebus to create the Realm.

What this means is that the Umbra is Erebus and that drawing upon that energy is also calling upon him. Umbra witches have the privilege of working with their God everytime they utilize Umbra energy in their craft.

This also means that every Guardian, especially the First, is a child of Nyx and Erebus.

In a turn of the tables, they're all dead and Lucy is the lone survivor of the Rat Grinders party. She struggles to recognize her friends, so warped by their anger and rage, and can't even ask them why because they're gone. There's no High Five Heroes, no Rat Grinders, there is only Lucy and she must find her answers by herself.

Umbra Orb Companions

Many of us have seen little dark orbs out of the corner of our eyes ever so often. While these creatures can come into our world naturally via tethers I sometimes help them along when I'm attuning myself to Umbra energy.

I sit in a dark room that has an already established tether and I practice gathering umbra energy between my hands. I hold them out in front of me at about chest level and I worl to gather a ball of umbra energy between them.

Once I've formed the ball I continue to refine it into a spherical shape and then reach out to connect it to the tether. I then send out a call through the tether for any beings wishing to travel safely to our world.

As they are traveling through a tether that I created and they have to come through my wards I am able to ensure they are not a malicious spirit.

Once a spirit becomes available I offer them the ball of umbra energy to reside in. This provides them with protection and shelter. Once that's done they either remain with me or they set out on their own.
