'David Tennant’s wife Georgia had the perfect response to Ncuti Gatwa saying her husband was behind his trouserless Doctor Who debut.
Gatwa made quite an appearance during his debut as the 15th incarnation of the two-hearted Time Lord in the final 60th anniversary special – “The Giggle” – which aired on Saturday 9 December. The Sex Education breakout star helped David Tennant’s Doctor fight off The Toymaker (Neil Patrick Harris) – and he did it sans-trousers.
The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, Gatwa got to the bottom of why he was only wearing a white collared shirt and his underpants.
He said the unexpected bi-generation twist, which saw the Time Lord split into two rather than having a new Doctor replace the old one, meant each got half of the costume that Tennant was wearing.
Gatwa then joked that Tennant was the person behind why his first scenes as the Doctor were so cheeky.
“David obviously started his filming for that scene first so he got to pick what pieces of clothes he was left with,” Gawtwa explained.
“So by the time I came in to choose, I only had a pair of pants and socks to go with.
“So thank you so much for that, David Tennant, thanks so much.”
Georgia Tennant, who has also appeared in Doctor Who, butted in after seeing a prime opportunity to post some comedy gold about Gatwa’s trouserless situation courtesy of her husband on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I can relate,” Georgia wrote.
Doctor Who fans instantly fell in love with the saucy exchange with one social media user saying Georgia is a “goddamn treasure”. Another proclaimed that Georgia Tennant had entered her “forever be famous era”.
“[David Tennant’s] wife tweeting like she’s a thirsty fan account. What a couple,” a fan wrote on X/Twitter.
This isn’t the first time that Georgia, who has been married to David Tennant since 2011 and shares five children with the actor, has flexed her comedic prowess on social media.
In November, a fan listed Tennant in their “top three DILFs” – an acronym meaning ‘Dad I’d like to f**k’ for those who somehow haven’t run into it before.
Georgia Tennant quipped that the Doctor Who icon would be “thrilled” and “unbearable” as soon as he figured out what a DILF is.
She left fans in stitches after she posted a picture of Tennant drinking from a mug with Michal Sheen’s face on it in celebration of the Good Omens star’s birthday in 2022, saying Sheen was Tennant’s “other wife”.
The actor and producer has also shown herself to be a diehard trans ally. In October, Georgia Tennant declared she stood with the trans community “now and always” following a hateful speech by prime minister Rishi Sunak.'

Will There Be a Third Downton Abbey Movie?
Downton Abbey: A New Era isn't the end of the Downton universe.
Athird Downton Abbey movie is officially in the works. Actress Imelda Staunton, who played Queen Mary’s lady-in-waiting, Lady Maud Bagshaw, in the first two movies confirmed the exciting news in March of 2024.
“There will be the final film—there you go,” Staunton said in an interview with BBC Radio 2 breakfast show host Zoe Ball. At this point, no other details about the film have been shared publicly—other than it's happening! But as soon as we know anything about a premiere date, the plot, and which characters are set to return to the screen, we will be sure to update this post.
Rumors about another chapter in the Crawley family's story have swirled since the second film premiered in 2022. "Honestly, I thought the fifth was the last series," creator Julian Fellowes told Town & Country at the time, when asked about the possibility of additional sequels. "Then I thought the sixth was the end of them. Then I thought the first movie was the goodbye. Who knows?"
The Downton Abbey creator continued, "If there's a big demand and everyone wants them back, I suppose I certainly wouldn't say no, because I've long since come to terms with the fact that, when I die, Downton will be the main item in any article about me going. So I might as well continue the ride for as long as it goes. But I don't know. I think it's an audience decision, really."

Zoe Ball, the popular BBC Radio 2 host, says she will leave her breakfast show after an impressive six years. Scott Mills, who hosts the station's mid-afternoon slot, will take over. Ball broke the news to listeners on Tuesday, explaining that she wanted to prioritize her family life and was leaving for the early-morning schedule. After six incredible years on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, it's time for me to step away from the very early mornings and focus on family," she said. Ball also announced that her final broadcast would be on Friday, December 20, and hinted at remaining part of the Radio 2 family with new projects to come in the new year. Bryan Ledgard from Yorkshire, UK, CC BY 2.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0, via Wikimedia Commons Scott Mills who was newly recruited to Radio 2 in 2022 to fill the shoes of Steve Wright, had much to say having admired and appreciated Ball as he entered into the new role. "Zoe and I have been such good friends now for over 25 years and have spent much of that time as part of the same radio family.". She's done an incredible job on this show and I am more than excited to be handed the baton," Mills said. "It really is a lifelong dream come true to follow in the footsteps of Sir Terry , Chris, and Zoe." Ball began her tenure with the Radio 2 breakfast show in 2019, becoming the station's first female presenter in the role. Her long broadcasting career has showcased quite a few highlights over the years, including her years as the first woman to host the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, a position she held from 1998 to 2000; and the children's program Live & Kicking, which aired alongside Jamie Theakston in the late 1990s. On reflecting on her decision to leave, Ball shared warm sentiments about her experience on the breakfast show. "I've decided it's time to step away from the early alarm call and start a new chapter. You know I think the world of you listeners, and it truly has been such a privilege to share the mornings with you," she said. "I'm excited to embrace my next chapter, including being a mum in the mornings, and I look forward to tuning in on the school run! The shake-up at BBC Radio 2 forms part of a far larger reshuffle on the station, which remains the UK's most popular, reaching approximately 13.3 million listeners weekly. Among other changes, Trevor Nelson will take over Mills's old mid-afternoon slot, meaning he becomes the first Black presenter to appear on the station's daytime schedule. Nelson, known for his expertise in soul and R&B, shared his enthusiasm about the new opportunity. “It’s going to be great being on daytime. It’s the ultimate privilege as a broadcaster to entertain the nation on the biggest station in the UK every day. I’m looking to have lots of fun and will be bringing a bit of soul to the new show,” he said. Fans of his game Five Seconds to Name can also expect its continuation in the new time slot. Elsewhere on the station, DJ Spoony's The Good Groove programme increases to four nights a week with broadcasts Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to midnight. In addition, Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Kitchen Disco will be doubled in length and will now run two hours long on Friday nights from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. Zoe Ball's leaving is the end of an era for the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, and yet it's clear her influence and charm have left an indelible mark on her listeners and colleagues alike. Her voice may not be there so early to greet the nation, but her legacy as a trailblazer and darling of the air remains forever the same. Read the full article

July 29th - Independent Excursion Post Part I, The Impact of Taiwanese Art
Still have the cough. Today was our first full day in Kaohsiung, and it was also our first free day. We went out to some of the bars last night and Peter came (our tour guide)! It was fun to see him outside of working hours. The drink I got was called a Melon Ball and they definitely pour heavy-handed. Anyway, for that reason, I slept in a little bit today. Unfortunately, breakfast stops at 9:30, which should be a crime, so I missed food this morning. At around 11, I was ready to get started on my independent excursion. For my project, I decided to find local art around the area, such as statues, graffiti, and murals. I ended up walking about two miles in total as I was touring the city looking for artwork. I will expand on this more during the reflection portion. I also found this really cute bookstore and while it was definitely overpriced, I got some cool souvenirs for myself and my family members. After all this, I was starving, so I decided to head back to the hotel and pick up some lunch. I got some ramen at an OK Mart (they completely stole K-Mart’s brand) and then I headed upstairs to my room. I cleaned out my bag, journaled a bit, and talked to my friends. Tonight, I think we are watching Deadpool in theaters, but I am just hoping it is not all in Chinese because I am pretty limited to 你好,謝謝, 和再見. I am also pretty sure I am going shopping with Amy and Zoe because Amy’s birthday is soon, but I need to be careful about spending any more because I broke the bank a bit today.
Academic Reflection
Taiwan, especially Kaohsiung, is overflowing with artwork. As I walked the streets, I constantly saw different forms of expression like graffiti, huge murals, and statues. The art in Taiwan reflects many different aspects. It varies from individual expression to global views. Taiwan struggles to find one cohesive identity because of its unique history. They have been under different forms of government, ruled by different countries, and influenced by different cultures for hundreds of years. In fact, “few nations face a future more fraught with uncertainty than Taiwan. Even whether Taiwan is a nation is questioned” (Copper, 2009, p.227). The uncertainty of one true identity and a stable future is something that Taiwan has been struggling with for some time. Their art reflects this uncertainty in some aspects by showcasing the mixing pot of cultures that have influenced their art style. China has a big impact on the style, which was definitely displayed as I walked the city. There were statues of traditional Chinese-looking soldiers and paintings of traditional Chinese temples. There is also some Western and Japanese influence. Paintings of cherry blossom trees littered the streets and I saw a huge statue of a character that resembled Bumblebee from Transformers. Graffiti is also common, and while it has long been argued whether or not it is beneficial or detrimental to society, it plays an important part in the art scene. Since Kaohsiung specifically embraces art, it has been named the “street art capital of Taiwan”. Not only does Taiwan have an impressive amount of art to view for free on the streets, but the art also supports the economy. The box office for arts and cultural events in 2022 exceeded $36.3 million US (Wu, 2022). Art museums and shows are a way for people to enjoy an aesthetic experience and challenge their minds to understand the meaning behind some more convoluted pieces. It is an important part of the life and economy here. The art not only displays the impact of the world on Taiwan, but art is an important part of psychology. Art can promote well-being. A study done in 2024 led to the conclusion that artistic expression holds promise as a powerful tool for promoting resilience, reducing stress, fostering social connection, and increasing self-awareness (Smith, 2024). Not only does art display cultural beliefs and personal ideas, but it also is a tool that can improve mental health. Complex activities like painting, drawing, sculpting, and creating music can help the individual process complex emotions and deal with hardship. When people are going through a difficult time, it is often recommended that they find an outlet such as art in order to process emotions and funnel them into a separate facet. Some of the art I saw displayed these complicated emotions. There were hexagons filled with smiling, sad, stagnant, and angry faces on one mural that really stood out to me. It makes me consider what this person may have been going through at the time, provoking thought, curiosity, and empathy with the viewer. So many different emotions can be conveyed with art, and expressing them is important to maintaining mental health, but it also is so beneficial to the audience that views it. Studies have shown that viewing art generates similar patterns of brain activity to other pleasurable experiences, such as food or addictive drugs (Gallo, Giampietro, Zunszain, Tan, 2021). Not only is it pleasant for the viewer, but art can also engage the reward system in the brain, which can reduce stress levels (Gallo et al., 2021). Overall, Taiwanese street art is not only a reflection of the impact of their culture and country, but it is a beneficial outlet and positive experience for all who get to enjoy it.
Part two will be in the next post because I maxed out this text box!

As It Was promo radio junket Apr 1 2022
Summary of main points and narrative in the BBC Radio 2 with Zoe Ball interview, Apr 1 2022.
About As It Was and Harry's House:
"I wrote this song quite a while ago now, and the album's been finished for a little bit, and I feel like I've been sitting on it, keeping a secret, so I'm excited to be able to finally share it with everyone and I hope everyone enjoys it"
Zoe: I love how obsessed all the fans have been, and the detective work that has been going on!
H: YES!
Z: You put out a snippet of the album backwards, and Tommy from the 'Sounds Vapors' podcast has taken that and flipped it. This is what he played:
Tommy: I just reversed the audio that we heard,
[plays snippet]
Tommy: I just got goosebumps!
Z: You're such a great tease! Lots of people asking, is the picture [on the album cover], is that an egg on the plate?
H: It is an egg. It's a sunny side up! It's an egg.
Z: Well, this is the next question, being a breakfast show. How would you have your eggs?
H: I like a boiled egg, I like a fried egg, I like a scrambled egg. I get versatile with an egg!
About Harry's House:
"It's easily my favorite thing I've made so far. I'm really really proud of it, and I think obviously all of us went thru something during the pandemic and everything. And I think for me personally, was the first time I'd really been forced to pause and I think it honestly gave me a chance to work out who I was away from music as a friend, a son, a brother...all of those things. And being able to put a little more, I guess just adjust the balance of my life a little bit. It gave me a chance to make music from a different place than I think I'd been making it from in the past. And I felt a lot freer and a lot less afraid of anything. And I think that's a rally exciting place to make music from. So more than ever before, I'd say the reward has been in the process for me. So I feel very much like I've kind of achieved everything I want to achieve with this album already, so everything from this point on just feels very exciting and like a bonus."
About the voice at the start of As It Was:
The voice at the start is my goddaughter, who was in a long pattern of calling me every night before bed, and I missed it one night and she let me know that she wasn't happy about it. I dug it out one day when I was in the studio, put it at the start of the song and I loved it, so it stuck. And I hope one day when she's older she'll enjoy looking back on it."
Zoe ends the interview by joking with H about him having the date of Glastonbury Festival wide open on his calendar. H laughs.

Paddington 3 Sets 2022 Production Start
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Paddington is one of the best film series of the 21st century, and we’re moving closer to the next, much-anticipated installment. At in an event today in Cannes, Studiocanal CEO Anna Marsh gave an update on the schedule for Paddington 3. According to Variety, Paddington 3 is slated to commence filming in the second quarter of 2022, which means sometime in the April-June region. Given the post-production requirements of the film, which is a mixture of live-action and CGI, this likely means we won’t be seeing Paddington 3 in theaters until 2023. But, hey, as long as we know we will get more brilliant stories featuring the kindest and most empathetic bear, this is good news.
While there’s much we don’t know about the story of Paddington 3, we do know that director Paul King, who spearheaded the first two films in the series, will not be returning in that chief creative role. King is currently busy directing a Willy Wonka origin story for Warner Bros. (which doesn’t sound as important, but whatever), but will still act as an executive producer and will write the story for Paddington 3 alongside previous collaborators Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton. Burton, Jon Foster, and James Lamont are on board to write the script. StudioCanal will be teaming up with David Heyman’s Heyday Films once again to create the film.
While we don’t yet know if the cast will be returning, it’s hard to imagine a Paddington story that doesn’t also feature the Brown family as we’ve come to know them in the film adaptations. In early 2021, Hugh Bonneville, who plays Mr. Brown in the first two Paddington films, told BBC Radio 2’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show (via Variety) that there was “forward momentum” on the project, and that it was “somewhere on the horizon,” suggesting he will be involved. Presumably, Ben Whishaw will also be back as the voice of our beloved Paddington.
Right now, the two biggest question marks surrounding the production of Paddington 3 are: who will take over directing duties from King, and who will play the series’ next villain. The villain roles in the first two installments, played by Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, respectively, are amongst the most fun in recent filmmaking. Kidman and Grant both made the most of the deliciously despicable antagonists in delightful ways. As eagerly as I am awaiting the announcement of the Paddington 3 director, I am equally excited to discover which iconic actor will get the chance to face off against Paddington and the Browns next. For my money, Paddington villain is one of the best gigs in Hollywood.
Who should play the villain in Paddington 3? Who would you like to see direct the next film? Let us know in the comments below…
