[Full comic transcript under cut in addition to the alt text.]
So I've been working on a short comic, and here's a preview of the first five pages and the cover. They still need some cleanup and editing, and the rest of the pages of course, but I hope you enjoy them!
Images: First is a cover, in greens, oranges and purples. Title: The Orc and Her Bride, A Comic by Zoe Maxine. The illustration shows a surprised orc woman in a fancy cape and circlet holding an equally surprised dark skinned elf woman in a creamy bridal dress and crown.
Page 1. Full page drawing of the orc woman, looking far more ramshackle, covered in blood on a pile of bodies, and holding a giant axe. She pants with exhaustion.
Page 2. She looks over to see three people murmuring around a nearby building. Orc: "Don't tell me there's more." The three pointy eared people approach, looking frightened. Bearded man with his hands raised: "Mistress - Please, have mercy." The Orc is shocked, before she looks down, muttering, "Not looking forward to this part." Looking at the bearded fellow she says, "I will not harm the unarmed." Sighing, the bearded man says, "Thank you, Mistress." Avoiding his eyes, the orc says, "I don't deserve your thanks. I have killed many of your brethren."
Page 3. Two of the people exchange a look between them, faces neutral. Bearded one: "…Our soldiers, yes." The other, an older woman with short hair, looks at the orc. "Mistress, where do you come from?" Bearded one: "Why have you done this?" A shadow passes over the orc's face. "I am from Eskerfort." The next panel shows her saying "And… because I am from Eskerfort." over a flashback to her kneeling on the ground, defeated, in front of burning houses with soldiers barely visible in the background.
The two people in the present look away, almost ashamed, saying "Ah," with understanding.
Page 4. Looking down at the bodies below her, the orc says, "I am tired of bloodshed. I have avenged my kin. I will darken your doorways no more and leave you in peace." As she turns to leave, however, the beareded one rushes forward. "Wait! Worrier! Stop! Please!" The elfin woman looks up at her, asking, "Do you not know our laws?" Together the two try to point out something to the orc. "Look, please!" "Look!" Among the bodies is a fancily dressed one wearing a circlet. Off-panel, the people say, "That one you killed among the dead - he was our king." One of them reaches down to grab the circlet.
Page 5: Looking concerned, the orc woman says, "Are you asking me to be executed? For Regicide?" As the elfin woman is doing something, the bearded one puts his hands on his hips and looks up sternly. "No, Warrior, we are asking you to take responsibility."
The elfin woman holds the circlet up to the orc. It shines. "Our laws are clear," she says, "Whoever kills the king becomes the new king."
The orc stares ahead, eyes becoming pinpricks. "What?"
The next panel has her dressed in a fur lined cape with the circlet on her head, her hair being brushed. She has the exact same expression on her face. "what?"
The last panel has her sitting at the head of a long table with all the elfin people enjoying themselves around her. "what"

Diamond Bracelets vs. Diamond Bangles: Choosing the Best Style for Women
When it comes to jewelry, diamond bracelets and diamond bangles are two of the most popular choices among women. Each piece has its unique charm and appeal, making the decision between them a delightful challenge. This article will explore the key differences, styles, and occasions for wearing diamond bracelets and bangles, helping you choose the best option for your personal style.
Understanding Diamond Bracelets
Diamond bracelets for women are versatile pieces that can enhance any outfit. Here are some key features:
Open-ended Design: Most diamond bracelets feature an open design, allowing for easy wear and adjustment.
Link or Chain Construction: They often consist of links or chains, providing flexibility and movement on the wrist.
Variety of Styles: From delicate tennis bracelets to bold cuff styles, there’s a wide range of designs available.
Advantages of Diamond Bracelets
Versatility: Suitable for both casual and formal occasions.
Comfort: The flexible design allows for a comfortable fit.
Layering Options: They can be easily layered with other bracelets for a trendy look.
Exploring Diamond Bangles
On the other hand, diamond bangles offer a more structured and bold appearance. Here’s what sets them apart:
Closed Circlet Design: Bangles are typically designed as a complete loop, providing a solid look.
Sturdy Construction: Their rigid structure makes them durable and less likely to bend or break.
Hinged or Slip-On Styles: Many bangles come with hinges or are designed to slip on easily.
Advantages of Diamond Bangles
Statement Pieces: Their bold design makes them ideal for making a fashion statement.
Formal Appeal: Perfect for bridal wear or formal events.
Stackable Options: Bangles can be stacked together for a personalized look.
Choosing the Right Style
When deciding between a diamond bracelet and a diamond bangle, consider the following factors:
Occasion: For everyday wear, a diamond bracelet may be more suitable. For formal events or weddings, opt for a diamond bangle.
Comfort Level: If you prefer something lightweight and flexible, choose a bracelet. If you like a bolder look, go for a bangle.
Personal Style: Reflect on your personal style. Do you prefer subtle elegance or bold statements?
Practical Considerations
Maintenance
Both types of jewelry require care to maintain their sparkle:
Diamond Bracelets:
Clean with a soft cloth after wearing.
Store in a separate compartment to avoid scratches.
Diamond Bangles:
Regularly check for loose stones.
Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals.
Budget
When considering your budget, Diamond Bracelets can vary widely in price based on design and carat weight. Bangles tend to be more expensive due to their solid construction and design intricacies.
Where to Buy
You can easily buy diamond bangles online for women from various reputable jewelers. Look for stores that offer quality assurance and customer service. For diamond bracelets, many online retailers provide detailed descriptions and images to help you make an informed choice.
Conclusion
In summary, both diamond bracelets and diamond bangles have their unique advantages. The choice ultimately depends on personal preference, occasion, and comfort level.
Whether you decide on the structured elegance of a diamond bangle or the versatile charm of a diamond bracelet for women, both pieces will add glamour to your jewelry collection.
Consider factors such as style, maintenance needs, and budget when making your decision. Remember that jewelry is not just an accessory; it reflects your personality and enhances your beauty. So choose wisely!

The Squire’s Honor
March 19th, Nishan
Three years ago I was mucking out stables and helping my Da plow fields to get ready for the planting season. I was just a kid in Westfall trying to help my parents make ends meet, as gold was scarce and while we had food in our bellies and a roof over our heads, we still struggled to save for the ‘rainy day’ that we all knew would come.
But that day turned out not to be live giving rain, but a storm of fel that fell from the skies and took my family with it when the Burning Legion came to Azeroth.
Not gunna lie, there are still nights I struggle to sleep. I don’t like to dwell on it, but with Bri’s help I’m working through those bad memories and learning to live without them. She helped me realize that I have serious fears of abandonment and something called survivor’s guilt. So, it’s been a struggle to move past all that negativity and heal from my losses.
But see, three years ago…I also met the Praetorium. My new family. And that’s been the best treatment so far.
I really don’t know how I got so lucky. Man, kids like me end up in shitty orphanages with Matrons that beat them for asking water. They know poverty and the feeling of nobody caring as much as they know the feeling of air in their lungs, and that’s awful…
But me? I fell in with a bunch of elves that have taken me in and made me one of their own. They’ve trained, fed, clothed and loved me when I couldn’t love myself. No, I don’t have pointed ears or their long life spans, but I’m one of them and Addie had a large hand in making me realize that.
There are plenty of other knights that have known Pixie longer than I have. Some remember her as the little girl with costume wings that flung herself off roofs in order to fly. Others had a hand in making her the woman she’s become today and understand the depth of her losses, as they too remember when she was never seen without the Praetorium Rose, Vynalia Silverfall, her sister.
I remember Addie as the friend who put a wooden sword in my hand and let me wail on her shield when my anger got the better of me. She’s the person who came to my rescue when the night terrors had me screaming at all hours and soothed me back to sleep with stories of the Titans. She made me her squire when I had half the talent of any other recruit, and gave me a purpose in serving her as honorably as she did the rest of the Praetorium.
But more than all that, she shared her family with me. She didn’t think twice about opening her proverbial home to some no-name kid from Westfall and sharing her best friend, her knights… and her father. She tucked me under those awesome wings of hers and made my life better.
That’s what Raelin says she does. She just makes everything better. I gotta agree, she given me so much…
…but today I get to give her something back in return. I get to put her bridal circlet on…
I didn’t know what that meant until Mal told me, but it’s a pretty big deal and I’m really humbled he asked me.
It’s a Silverfall (and thusly, Praetorium) tradition to gift their children with circlets of gold when they come of age. Mal made Addie’s himself…well, he’s made most of the knights children’s circlets, but they are all different and really beautiful. Seriously, he can make anything out of metal…I think people underestimate it when he says it talks to him. The stuff he makes speaks.
In Mal’s family though, there is an heirloom circlet that is over 10,000 years old that gets passed down to each generation on a wedding day. It usually goes to the eldest daughter, but Addie’s all Mal has left, so it goes to her. Bri told me the circlet was said to have been from a tree on Elunaria, the spirit world where Eonar took refuge after she was felled by Sargeras and why the Silverfalls have always held a deep faith in the Titans. I don’t know how much truth there is to that, but it’s a pretty story.
We couldn’t bring the real circlet, cause it has too much magic in it, but the perfect replica that one of our knights, Gavin, made is just as beautiful. They don’t like Outsider magic here in Nishan, so while it’s kinda sad that Addie doesn’t get the actual heirloom on her wedding day, the meaning and symbolism behind it will be there.
Usually, the mother of the bride has the honor of setting it on her child’s head, but…today, I get to do it, as Pixie’s mother isn’t here anymore. It’s a huge thing that Mal’s entrusted me with, and I know the person I’m stepping in for meant a lot to our Pixie, so I really want to do my best.
Which is why I spent all week practicing by putting flower crowns on the Major’s daughter, Elsina. Rae and Mal think I was sneaking off to kiss her in the stables…which may be partly true, but she was letting me practice putting the daisy chains on her sunny hair so I make sure I get this right. Today has to be perfect…for Addie…
…she’s given me so much; my life, friends and a place to call home…now as she starts this new life all married and stuff, I wanna make sure she knows how much she means to me. I want her to know that even if she isn’t going to be officially my knight anymore and I worry that she will forget about me, that I’m here for her no matter what. That I’m going to be strong for her and take care of the people she trusted me to watch over when she first came to Nishan…
…my family.

“bad idea darling I don’t think I’ll be able to take my hands off of you.” with Eris, please!!
wildfire.
author's note: oh how i've missed eris. here's my snarky little fox boy. warning: smut under the cut.
You knew that teasing your mate was a profoundly terrible idea.
But the High Lord's meeting proved to be utterly dull and you couldn't help that your attention kept gravitating to the handsome male seated beside you. Eris was dressed in his finest clothes, the velvet green doublet and dark riding pants hugging his toned, muscled form. A golden circlet adorned the crown of his head and his long, luscious red hair was tied into intricate braids at the nape of his neck.
His full, sensual lips curved into a cruel smile as he chastised Tamlin. You were too busy admiring Eris—your gaze darting to the light smattering of freckles that kissed his fair skin down to the perfect slope of his nose and onto the expensive golden rings adorning his slender fingers. It made you think about all the times that the cold metal kissed your skin while Eris wrapped his hand around your throat, dragging those rings over your spine and cupping your ass as he took you from behind. It was enough to make you all hot and bothered.
Eris shifted in his seat, discretely inclining his head towards you. He noticed the little sigh that escaped from your mouth and offered your knee a comforting squeeze, conveying that the long and arduous meeting would be done soon enough.
The cold metal brushed against your skin and a naughty thought took form in your mind. You rested your fingers on top of your mate's hand and guided him higher up your thigh. Eris stilled beside you, his amber eyes flashing you a warning that you willfully ignored. You smiled to yourself as you continued dragging his hand over your leg, bringing him up to your clothed sex. Eris hissed when his fingers made contact with your wetness, nearly toppling over in his chair as he struggled to get a hold of himself.
"Is something the matter, Eris?" Tamlin barked.
Your mate recovered gracefully, shooting the Spring Court lord a venomous smile. "As a matter of fact, yes. I think we can all agree that your presence has been entirely tiresome and dreary. I propose a break to cleanse us of such staleness."
The other lords muttered in agreement and it was all Eris needed to drag you out of the room and into your assigned suite upstairs. Your mate locked the door behind him before stalking towards you. He picked you up bridal style before tossing you onto the mattress. You yelped as he yanked you by the ankles, hovering above you with a smirk as he bunched up the fabric of your dress above your waist.
"Wicked little fox." Eris tutted as he unbuttoned his trousers. You scrambled to touch him, but your mate held both of your wrists in one hand and held them over your head.
You pouted in response. "I want to touch you."
"You should've thought of that before teasing the hell out of me," he grunted, slipping out of his trousers in one swift move. "Bad idea, darling. I don't think I'll be able to take my hands off of you."
Fire snakes through your arms, holding you in place as Eris spreads your legs open. He tears off your lace panties in a haste haste before hooking your ankles behind his shoulders and placing a gentle kiss on the inside of your knee.
"My little wildfire," Eris says fondly. "I'm about to fuck you so well that this entire palace will know what a little slut you are for me."
"Please—please, Eris."
Eris laughs and the sound sends goosebumps skittering over your skin. "Look at you, practically begging for my cock. Do you want daddy to fuck you dumb, little fox?"
"Yes," you breathe. "Gods, yes."
"Then hang on tight, darling."
That was the only warning Eris gave you before he drives his cock inside of you. Your head falls back onto the mattress, moaning in pleasure as his hips snap against yours at a punishing pace. The sound of skin slapping against skin fills the room and if anyone were to walk down the hallway, they'd hear exactly how needy and desperate Eris made you.
And that was precisely what your mate wanted.
"Come on, darling. You can do better than that." Eris taunts as his lips latch onto your neck. "I want you to moan as loudly as you can. I want everyone to know what a good little whore you are." He slammed his hips against yours, holding you in place so you can feel his cock driving deep within your walls.
"That's it, my love. You love taking daddy's cock, don't you? Go on, then. Scream until you're hoarse. Let this whole palace know what an absolute mess I make of you."

Inspirations of accessories for the wedding day
Halos
A subset of crowns, halos are increasingly popular. It gives a bolder look to the crowns, leaving the bride's look more relaxed. They work great even on bridal hairstyles with short hair!
Flowers in hair
The wreath is here to stay - but it is always being reinvented. This year the inspiration comes from deconstructed bridal bouquets: field flowers in the shape of large tiaras the way Frida Khalo used them, with volume on top of her head.
Circlets (circular rings)
With a playful and Renaissance style vibe, circlets are also getting the attention of brides, especially romantic ones. We love this trend for an outdoor wedding, under trees in a forest.

A Bridal Couple, c. 1470, Cleveland Museum of Art: Medieval Art
This beautiful painting depicts two lovers of aristocratic rank enjoying a chaste embrace. The painting includes abundant symbolism in the flowers and colors. Their rings and the circlets crowning their heads indicate that they are newlyweds; the blossoming bower surrounding them promises their union’s fertility. The young man presents a flower to his bride thought to be forget-me-not, a symbol of remembrance. The brightly colored costumes of both the man and woman are an indication of wealth and the latest fashion. The colors of both costumes visually suggest that the couple belongs to each other. The colors of green, red, and brown respectively suggest chastity, love, and modesty. Though represented at the peak of their youth and health, this panel was once joined to another called the Rotting Pair (Strasbourg, Musée de l’Oeuvre Notre-Dame), in which the young couple transforms into a pair of hideous corpses. Together the ensemble constituted a memento mori, a macabre reminder of the vanity of all things in the face of death. Size: Framed: 77.5 x 51 x 8.1 cm (30 1/2 x 20 1/16 x 3 3/16 in.); Unframed: 62.3 x 36.5 cm (24 1/2 x 14 3/8 in.) Medium: oil on panel
